Most of us headed the mountains for peace and fresh air,
maybe a little adventure. But for two Cape Cod Scouts,
their hike in New England's White Mountains became something much bigger.
Jack Barrowski and Brody Perry, both high school seniors, were
leading their troop on Mount Lafayette when they crossed paths
with a family in trouble. The family's daughter had been

struggling to stay on her feet, and as daylight slipped away,
it became clear she couldn't make it down on her own. Well,
Jack and Brody didn't even think. Twice, with only minutes
of light left, they lifted the young woman and carried
her more than two miles down the mountain in what
ended up being the Dark Jack has already earned his
Eagle rank and Brody is said to receive his in January.
