The Morning Breeze Morning Breeze on demand.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
The Commodores on the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
And because it is right about six twenty, that means
it is time for the Morning Breeze Brain teath. We
do it every weekday morning at this time. I kind
of think it's a great way to wake up in
the morning. See how alert you are. Start the day
off with those juices flowing in your brain. That's my line, Carolyn,

(00:26):
I talk about the juices people flow in their brains.
You can have that linebacker. Okay, Morning Breeze Brain Teas
sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with
my Council Plumbing. See them online at mc plumbing dot com.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
According to your recent survey, this is the number one
pet peeve we have when it comes to other people's driving.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
These are going to be some fun guesses. I can
already predict. I don't know what the answer is, but
I can already predict the guesses. Somebody's got to get
this right. Eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. Susan and Brisbane, Good morning. What do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yeah, them texting texting while they're driving? Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
And when you pull up next to somebody and you
see that you can actually see them texting while they're driving, or.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
They have their phone in their hand.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I want to say one day last week, this woman
was driving and she was looking off to the right
hand side, but she had her phone.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
In her hand, so she is not looking forward, and
she had her window open by chance. So I rolled
my window down and I said.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Put that phone down and drive.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
That's the New Yorker in me. Yeah, And you would
think that would be the number one pet peeve, but
according to this recent survey, it's not. All right. Let
you guys take care, are you too? Bye? All right,
be in Richmond.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
What do you think The answer is?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Pet peeve is to get tail Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Such a good guess. I had a tailgater on the
way to work today, you did. I swear early in
the morning people behave worse because they feel like it's
stark out.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
They can get away with it us my theory on
that or or.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Hear me out on this. But they were just so
excited to get to work this morning.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Not probably not the not that uh B. Do you
experience this a lot tailgaters?

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, it's frustrating the tailgating. You can't do anything about it, really,
not anything legal at.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Least road range for sure. Is that the answer. That's
a great answer, but not the correct one.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Okay, Number one, the number one pet peeve we have
when it comes to people's driving.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
What is the answer, They don't use their turn signal.
That's the top pet peeve, that one. Yeah, I know,
I'm surprised to be who doesn't.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
He Well, I have seen something in my neighborhood. I
don't want to call anybody out, but I have seen that.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
I use my turn signal in a parking lot. I
think people should nerd alerts.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
B Do you use your turn signal all the time?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'm all the time, and I get I would put
this third thirty and it's the wall. The fact that
you have people that turn signal shame you in your life.
Be my goodness.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Well, have a good day. We appreciate you listening. Thank you, welcome,
Thank you having a great day. Guys, Thank you too.
Bye Mike.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
The morning Breeze brain Tease you can play along with
us every weekday morning here at six twenty and.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Coming out this morning at seven forty. Another chance to
win tickets to not only see Toto in concert, but
Christopher Cross and Men at Work.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
They are all going to be together August twenty fifth
at the Toyota Pavilion at Conquered Be here at seven
forty for your chance to win those tickets on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
And Brees Jewel at six forty two. Here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and it is time for the more.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
You know, Nice, I was telling you a minute ago, Court,
that's something from our childhood that went away, that was
a staple for so many of us growing. It was
just announced it's making a comeback, and I'm talking about
thrifty ice cream.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Oh Nice, do you remember.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
How you used to be able to go into your
local thrifty? Did you guys have thrifty in Utah?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
By the way, I believe like thrifty was available in
some places, but not like it was here in California.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, I remember there was a thrifty ice cream store
in Walnut Creek that I used to go to all
the time.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Remember how the cones were. First of all, it was
like ten cents.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Oh yeah for a cone?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
And it was always like a not square, but it
was a perfect circle like it had been in this
ice cream Scooper that was not rounded. It was I
don't even know what you would call that, but it
was perfect.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You were doing some nice visuals here in the studio. Yeah,
describe it.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But the point is Thrifty ice Cream went away and
now it's making a comeback. And they said they're keeping
the original recipes, the original texture, which I was like,
what does that mean?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Ice cream is ice cream?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Like?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
And their signature scoop style, which is what they call it.
They are going to be expanding with new flavors and
new packaging, but it will be available at retail locations
across different regions.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
This is pretty exciting because here's a big secret. Thrifty
has still existed as an ice cream shop like a
Baskin Robbins in Mexico for years.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, it was licensed out to Mexico. And so when
my family vacation's in Mexico, oh there's a Thrifty we
always go to. And it's still really good and it's
still very inexpensive.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Oh that's so good that they kept the prices down.
I was looking because they're rolling it out slowly as
it's making this comeback, and it'll be in stores like
it was before. So I looked it up just in
our neighborhood here at work, and there are one, two, three, four,
five different places you can get it just by our
building here in San Francisco. Like Nice Food for Us
is definitely a store that offers thrifty ice cream at

(05:50):
least here in San Francisco, but there are some other
places too. So if you go to like Thrifty's website
thrifty ice cream dot com, you can put in your
address and it'll tell you where the.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Fifty store is near you.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I know, I love this, so I wanted to bring
this up and let people know because I can't imagine
that I'm the only one that loves thrifty ice grapes.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
So very sweet. The more you know, thank you, and
I see what you did there court we do. The
more you know.

(07:36):

for your brighter side and if you have a brighter
side for us.

Speaker 1 (07:45):

on the Breeze, it's the.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and Billy Joel at

And it's time for ask us Anything. We do it
every weekday morning at this time at seven twenty five,
and basically we open up the phone lines or of

app for literally anything you've ever wanted to ask us,
even that question you've been too shy to call in with.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Oh, call in with that question.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
We will answer any question for you eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one, or send us
a talkback with our iHeart Radio app. Yeah, and we
received this message from Jim who lives in Oakland. Pretty
great question, I think, Carolyn, what is the weirdest job
that you've ever had? I don't even remember where or
how I got this job, but I was going door

(08:57):
to door on the Peninsula selling vacuums.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
You were a vacuum at door to door vacuum set.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I don't didn't know how I got this job. It
was a long time ago. I think I was definitely
at that place in my life where I had finished college,
I had no money, and I was like, I have
to make money, and somebody somewhere, I swear I answered
an ad in the paper or something. Let me tell
you how this went down. I would get in a
car with a bunch of strangers that worked in quotes

(09:26):
for this company. They would drive us to the Peninsula
and drop us off in a neighborhood and I had
to sell vacuums that I knew nothing about, door to
door and then they would pick us up later in
the day and take us home. I was so miserable.
I lasted three days wow on that job and I quit.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Were you paid on commission or I.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Wasn't paid anything because I didn't sell any vacuums, but
I did spend three lovely days.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
In the peninsula. Wow. Yeah yeah, yeow, So that's my job.
How about you? You live to tail the tale. I
have a much better job now, yea.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
The weirdest job I had was I would go into
like seven Elevens and Circle K convenience stores and I
would be the person that would switch out the little
barcodes that are in front of the candy bars.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I feel like the employees do that.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
No, no, no, it's there's a company that does that. No way,
They're hired by corporate because they want things in a
they want things displayed in a certain way. And so
it was kit kats should be next to Snickers bars,
but you know, like twigs should not be next to
em and m's there's rules, hard fast rules on as.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Oh yeah, at least according to what I was told.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
WHOA.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
So we would go in with a with a diagram
for us, and then we'd go in and make sure
that the seven elevens and the circle k's were set
up properly.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I had no idea. I just figure the employees like
that was all part of the gig.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
No, it's not all willy nilly. There's a science behind it.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I think science is a little that's a strong use
of the word. Yeah, well that's so interesting. Seven eleven science. Jim,
thank you for the question. That's awesome, and that is
how ask Us Anything works. It could be any question
in the world. Send us a talk with our iHeartRadio apper.
Give us a call eight seven seven nine eight one
oh nine eight one.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
One.

Speaker 3 (11:05):

giving away tickets to see Toto?

Speaker 3 (12:00):
We'll have another chance to win tomorrow, same time, seven
forty here on the Morning Breeze, it's eight o six
with simply read here on ninety eight point one the Breeze.
You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. So, Carolyn,
I had a moment the other day. We all have
these moments where we start to realize that we've become
older people, okay, older adults. And it had to do

(12:20):
with my shopping cart on Amazon. I had spent hours
searching for an electric knife sharpener.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Oh those are great, though. Do you have one? Yeah,
well it's not electric. I have manual one, but they're great.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
I have one of those. Is it the manual ones
where you go little it comes with your era.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I have one that I bought off Amazon that is like,
I don't know. It's got like the little thingy in
the middle and you just slide your knife through it.
But it's not electric. Yeah, the electric ones apparently all
the rage. My dad used to have an electric one.
Are they back?

Speaker 1 (12:50):
They're back? Wow, And they're on sale on Amazon right now.
I think they're made by like Oaster or Austar or
whatever that brand is. Dad. There's like fifty brands these days.
Arp knives are in They're all.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
We're all competing with one another. And but when did it?
Because again, you buy a butcher block and it comes
with a little sharpening sword. I don't know where that
thing is.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, it is like a sword. You're right, you sharpen
up your knife when you're about to use it, and
you look cool and then you But now I'm an
older person because I want to buy an electric knife sharpener. No,
that does sound like a good idea. Actually, it makes
you think though, of all the things though, that all
the searching you've done on Amazon, that kind of also
shows you that you're becoming an older person.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
No, it's funny you mentioned this a minute ago. Court,
I just opened my Amazon search history. That would be
embarrassed if somebody saw this. Well, here's why, or I
purchase history. Let me disclaimer this by saying that I
do some shopping for my mom on Amazon. So we're
going to start with the women's ivy adjustable house shoes

(13:50):
indoor slipper.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Let me show you what these gems look like.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Oh, those look comfy.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
They do look comfy, but old lady's slippers. That's number one.
Number two is a water additive for dogs for bad breath. Okay, So,
and then I've got some collagen powder, right, and a
pair of golf pants for radio. There that's my that's
my most recently purchased Amazon.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
See. I have two teenage daughters. So once you get
through all the teenage daughter stuff, and you can get
into pretty much just vitamin after vitamin after supplement after vitamin. Oh,
that'll do it too.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
And then finally to the electric knife sharpener.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
That is so funny.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I never thought to go into my history and it
tells a story, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Which, by the way, the knife Sharpener arrives on Thursday.
I'm excited for you.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I am all one. Now, that's inspirational, all right. We're
at eight.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one. Find us
anytime on social media at ninety eight one of the
Breeze and you can always reach out at your convenience
with our iHeartRadio app and that talkback mic on our app.

of all the days for you to take advantage of
that piece of technology, do it today, please.
