Speaker 1 (00:00):
When you got two gen xers, put on a little
Michael Jackson and it'll be just fine with whatever album
it is.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Uh, welcome back, Mindy's out. Maria durant in so glad
to have her here and glad to be here. And
you're just always so positive.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
I feel like good news is your jam, and so
this is our good News segment, brought to you by
Tattletale Portable Alarm Systems.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
But you're undefeated, and that's what matters.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
What matters.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Brian just told us from Germany and Disney worlds or Disneyland, So.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Which one is it? What Florida is?

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I've only been wanted's so sad, really don't. Yeah, Orlando
is Disneyland or World O World? Thank you, That's what
I'm in Disney World. So good news is always good.
So has there has there been any headlines or anything
that you've seen in this last week or two that
really just have warmed your heart made you think humanity?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Well, I'm aday, Yeah, I have to say and not
to get you know, speak politically or religion things like
that are always a hot topic. But I'm going to
talk about religion because the Pope, as you know, for
the first time in two weeks was able to be

(01:18):
seen yesterday and just in time for Easter. So I thought,
that's a really good thing, you know, as this is
probably his this is his busiest season. Yes, and you know,
well both of you and I are Catholics.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yes, and you go to you go to Brandan's.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I go to St. Brendan's. I go to Saint Margaret.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I kind of move a little there, hop.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Around as Catholics you can, because the service is the
same no matter where I go, which.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Was always comforting for me in doing the news whenever
I moved somewhere to a new place, you know, I
could always go to a church and feel, oh I
know this place.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
That is so true about with all system. Yeah, it
completely is. He was so close to death, Maria.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
It certainly sounded like it.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
And it's miraculous. And doesn't he only have like one lung? That?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah? So and what is it? How old is he?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I mean, I mean I believe he's in his eighties. Yes,
we are hoping.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
We're planning to go to Italy for our twentieth anniversary
this year.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
I love Italy and I need to go to the Vatican. Yes,
have you been.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
I have been, I have been.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
What is it like?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
It's history on steroids. I mean the whole place. You know,
wherever you look, you will have a fantastic time. Are
you going to go just to Rome or I mean,
have you decided.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
We're in the middle of planning right now.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
When I was talking to my aunt and uncle, Vatican
Vatican City is a must.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
It sounds like Rome is a must, and that Sorrento.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I've not been there, but I hear good things.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
And of course Postitano that's how I say it. But
the Vatican has to I mean, I just have to
go there because of my my lineage, my history with
the Catholic Church. Right were you incredibly moved? Did you
see a pope while you were there?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Did not see a pope? No pope siding, No pope siding, Okay, sidings,
but yeah, it's just everywhere you turn, everywhere you walked
to imagine, I mean, how long ago they built this
and that, they built that that it's you know, still
standing and and looks beautiful and it is incredible, you know,

(03:36):
the artwork, the architecture, it's just it's living history.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
It is, and so it's a musty Yeah, I'm so
glad he's doing better. I he's He's been such an
interesting and influential pope in ways I don't think everyone imagined.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I really appreciated.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
He did an interview with Nora O'Donnell last summer on
sixty minutes. If you haven't seen that, highly suggested. I
mean just the humanitarian in him and the good that
he believes in all people. That's how I'll put it.
And I think that's one of the reasons I appreciate
Catholicism in my mid forties is I do feel like

(04:21):
we have this moment in our faith and we do
talk about faith sometimes on here.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
So you're in a really good company. Actually India and
I do.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
She's Catholic.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
She so no really taught in a Catholic school, but
they're not. She has a great church that she goes to.
But the thing I love about Catholicism is they don't
turn anybody away. No, and we really do feel to
gather everyone in and to make sure that they know

(04:50):
the love and the help.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
And Catholics are great about that. Hand up if you will.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Absolutely, so, did you give up anything for lent? So?
I did?

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I did give up something for lent and I've been
really really good about it.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
How about you? I did, I did, And how is
it going for you?

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Actually it's going well. It's been tough. So my husband
and I gave.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Up flower flowers, any thing with flower in it.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yes, it really does make you think about what you're eating. Yes,
and so you know, if you think about it, you know,
it makes you think about religion all the time.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Then I would go, we have to go to break.
Chris is showing giving me a break. But that is
a sacrifice. It's kind of a gluten freez it is,
But at the same time, it's sacrificing a major part
of what's a traditional diet bread.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Bread, and so much else I can only imagine.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Okay, so we are going to hit the top of
the five o'clock hour and we have a really great
segment coming up.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
So we hope you guys stick around. We hope you
stick around for the next hour. But first up.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Into the five o'clock we're going to talk to the
Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
They're doing some really great stuff in the community. This
is what Matters on six ten WTVN
