Speaker 1 (00:00):
In our feed. What is good in the world right now?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
To you?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
What is a good piece of news that stands out
because we've we've done this for years. Actually here I
think some people are picking up on our vibe now
like traditional media, but we've done this for a while.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I got to start now. You got it, You got it?

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I did. We were totally stocking and that break was short.
So one thing we did last week, I will tell
you this. We introduced you all to Weston Woods last week.
Just well we introduced you to his mom and just a
great family. Weston battling an aggressive cancer ependeoma, I want

(00:39):
to say, and his mom had had cancer and beat
it a few years ago, and Weston had a track
and they took it out the other day, and so
just some positive news because he's been through so much lately.
He you know, they had him sedated because given his surgery,

(00:59):
but he was moving his toes the other day, which
is a big deal because this tumor was.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
On his spine. So that was a bit of good news.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
His dad was like, thank you for all the prayers,
thank you for your audience. This is such a big
deal for him to be doing this well, right, now
and he'll continue to improve. Sometimes it's really hard when
you have a kid who's so sick because it's a
long haul and it's like the little wins. And that
was a little wind that Trevor texted me the other day,

(01:26):
and you all helped him raise some money. They're ninety
two percent of their goal to help pay for some
of the medical care that they're getting. So I just
want to say thank you to you all. You're a
great community. You listen in, you pay attention, you care
about the things that matter, and that was just a
piece of good news that I had to say.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
It's a blessing not to worry about the financial side
of it and you just have to worry about the
griefing and getting through the challenge.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah. Yeah, sometimes it's little, step by step.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
So I just did a quick search.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, I'm curious, what's on your fee?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I have anything exciting personally, but I've got or you
know that I've seen. But this is a if someone
really wants to cheer up, just go look up online
and just type in like what good news is out there,
and you're gonna see like a ton of just really
fun random acts of kindness and I'm a big fan
of random acts and kind of thing. It's just so
much fun. It's just it's so meaningful. It just really
matters to someone. So here's a guy, a pizza driver,

(02:19):
got a two dollars tip in a snowstorm that resonates
with today, and so people people raise thousands for him.
What And I saw another one here that this one,
This one moves me because it's an elderly woman who
dined at a restaurant on Christmas. Lease staff a moving letter.
And I think your handwritten letter is one of the
most valuable things you can give to someone.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Okay, you got to click on that one.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Click on that one because I'm curious if it's going
to say to us what was in that letter?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Because I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Oh, Springfield, Missouri. The is that where the Missouri is?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
So Missouri's in Columbia.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
But I had a lot of my friends came from
the Springfield area.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Black sheep burgers and shakes.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Okay, have you heard of that? No, I've not.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
They open the doors to those Anita free meal on
Christmas Day and uh yeah, I don't see much else
here on the I.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Didn't share her. I was hoping they might have shared
her letter, unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
But I guess like random acts of kindness, I mean,
that's a fun conversation. I mean, have you seen anything
random acts of kindness wise that you can point out,
or something someone's done to you in the past.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Well, I mean, I've done the coffee line thing right
where someone pays for who's behind them, and then it
starts the trend, hopefully. And then we do blessing bags
at our church, and you know, we do have It's
not like Chicago where my sister lives, but we have
plenty of homeless people in Columbus, and so that's a
random act of kindness.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
But other than that, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
If I like see a ton on an everyday basis,
do you.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
No, I mean, you don't see it very often anymore.
But one of my friends he has he puts twenty dollars,
so he has like two hundred dollars, like ten twenty
dollars bills in his wallet, okay, And it's not to
buy anything. It's literally like whenever he sees an opportunity
to give that to some one, he does it. And
he just says, hey, i'd like you, you know, God
told me to give you this twenty dollars. I hope
it can help you and I'm praying for you. And

(04:08):
it's just every time he does it, it's just the
stories he has are just incredible. And to him, he's like,
you know, twenty bucks, that means nothing to me, but
to them it means everything. But it's just the act
writes the thought that matters.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
So people tell him the story. Most of the time.
When after he does.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
It, yeah, they're just like, oh, I needed this because
of X, Y and Z, or they'll just tell him
how grateful they are and just you know, you just
connect with them.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I do really love I can't think of a guy
on YouTube. It's not mister Beast, it's somebody else.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I'm a big influencer on YouTube.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Now do you know that I didn't. You've been talking
YouTube today. Well, then don't get too.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
He goes around and he gives money to people inside
like large shopping stores, like the Walmarts of the world
or the Targets of the world.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
So very similar to what your friend does.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
It's just on a larger just on a larger scale,
like five hundred dollars. And oh, some of the reactions
are just amazing.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah, that's some good content there, you know, because it's
like everything you see out there is negative and then
you see something that's positive, that's really making a good
impact and seeing people put a smile on their faces
pretty neat.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
So you're on YouTube, We're going to have to talk
about that in your segment later.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I'm going to be curious what this is all about.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I've got over twenty thousand subscribers now and millions of
the years who it's a big business. It's all about
financial retirement planning, so we get a lot of people
that reach out to schedule time from it. It's been
you know, it's been an awesome thing. So okateful for
the opportunity.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
We're going to talk about that when we talk a
little bit about peak retirement. I'm marketing it down because
I want to hear more. We got a lot coming up,
including talking with Joe about their approach to serving clients
and what the kind of unique selling proposition, if you will,
the Joe's Group has, because they definitely have one. And
we're also going to talk about love coming out of
Valentine's Day?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Are you cynical? Are you not sure? Joe was telling
me his story.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
And we're going to hear it all a little coming up.
But we also have Open Arms Counseling coming up at
the top of the hour, and it's going to talk
about being single in twenty twenty five and what that
looks like. This is what matters on six ten WTVN.
