Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like on an island over there. I'm gonna get you to
come back.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
You could stay there with Steven. It's nice to have
a friend. I could just be over here and wave hi, guys,
welcome back. Second hour of what matters? Mindy is here
in the saddle.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I didn't even think to take my old seat back.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
No worries. We'll get you there and Stephen White with
typically we talked to you with coside. But there's some
exciting things that you're in to talk about the National
Veterans Memorial and Museum for this fourth they're coming up
on this fourth. Thanks for being here.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Well, it's my pleasure. Thank you both for having me.
It's almost July fourth. Can you believe that?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Because I see Mikayla's chest.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
And he's got a well it matches my red hat
right now, a little red, white and blue going.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I got the white absolutely. This came from the car
ride from Nashville.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
She's just back from Nashville. So National Veterans Memorial Museum.
What's the combo going on right now? I know that
this was talked about last weekend a little bit, but
what are you all.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Doing well with Coside? Because you guys are partnered up
that it's time.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Well, we we're excited to partner with our next door neighbors,
the National Veterans Memoria Museum.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
By the way, National.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Let me underline that for a little bit here, because
I think most folks don't realize that we have right
here in Columbus.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Ohio, the National.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Veterans Memori Museum. So it's not in Washington, d C.
Not in California, and I know it's right here in Ohio.
Congress designated it, and I got to tell you it
is one of the most amazing museums you will ever
see and be inspired from. And that's why we're excited
to partner with Kosai with the We got a discounted
ticket right now, that's happening, extra ten dollars getting get

(01:37):
get a COSI ticket, get to go right next door
to the National veters Momori Museum. But I got to
tell you this July fourth, if you're looking for something
to do, the US News and World Report said you
gotta go to the National Veterans Momor Museum. We're going
to make it amazing experience for people of all ages.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, I think that's kind of what spurred this whole
thing because this national report came out and it was like, oh,
there's even more of an interest. I think growing up
here people always referred to Vet's Memorial Vets Memorial, and
then you kind of looked at the whole formal name
of it and it kind of gives it a little
more prestige, so to speak. But you guys decided to
turn things up this July fourth because you want families,

(02:15):
you want people of all ages to come out, because
think about it, it's July fourth, It's Independence Day. If
there's ever a day that you should go to this museum,
it's now.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I mean, if you look at the vision and mission
of the museum itself, Number one honor all veterans.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Elevate their stories.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
And amplify the power of service for everyone everywhere. And
what that means is that you know, you can be
inspired by service, you know, expand that aperture a little bit,
hearing these amazing stories of men and women and be
inspired to say, what can I do to help inspire
my community. So what you're going to find on July
fourth is very similar to that.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
The opportunity you've got the flag on right now.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Well, one of the one of the activities that we
were going to have is being able to create your
own flag for kids and youth that they're going to
be able to come there, experience and do a little
bit of hands on activities that are there.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
And then we're going to also offer personalized.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Tours that will be available on July fourth by Colonel
Bill Butler, who's an amazing Army veteran president of the MVMM.
And you know, one of the things is doctor b
always says, I know he was here last week, you know,
is that this is an opportunity for everyone to be
able to experience this incredible museum, regardless of you're a
kid or you're an adult, You're going to have a

(03:29):
highly engaging experience on July fourth. And then, let me
tell you, the elephant toothpaste activity is going to be unreal.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Got to see it.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I'm reading through your news release right now. What is that?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
What do we think of when we think, Okay, elephant toothplate,
Elephant toothpaste museum, it's going to be here, Like what
are you doing with him? Because you can't even imagine
what we're thinking right.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
No, I'm reading more like, where's so, what is it?

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Stephen like knowledge, we're taking like big giant toothbrushes.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
No, no, no, we're yeah, well it's going to be
a foam.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
What we do is we recreate a chemical reaction using
a few chemicals, you hydrogen peroxide.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
We're going to mix it with a little bit what
we call it a catalyst, and.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
We're going to create a really foamy, exciting experience that
you're going to see there. It's kind of this wow
moment and it's going to be red, white, and blue.
You'll be able to see it there. And then what's
great about it is that it's it's the kids will
love it. You'll be inspired by it. And when you
mix those chemicals together, you create a catalyst, a catalyst,
and you think about what July fourth is all about.

(04:36):
We're about to kickoff this year America's two hundred fiftieth
birthday party this entire year. What better time to have
all of us be a catalyst for change in our
communities through the power service.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I love it because I'm all in with America two
fifty Right now. We're doing tons of stuff with the state,
and you're right, this is the jumping off point for
celebrations to start happening. What a cool thing. I did
not know elephant twothpaste between.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
That though I've read elephant.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
You guys are also collecting This is cool too. For
those social media savvy folks out there, You're going to
do some testimonials. We're going to be able to participate ourselves.
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (05:12):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
We're going to be collecting stories from from individuals and
we're going to ask them the simple question of what
does July fourth mean to you and be able to
collect that, be able to share that through things like
social media for example. And this, by the way, is
something that is really powerful and special about the National
Veteran from Moraw Museum is the ability to as I
mentioned earlier, kind of amplify uh you know, the you know,

(05:34):
amplify the power service, but then also be able to
collect those stories, elevate their stories. And what's great about
is that when you first walk into the museum, you
see this beautiful, great hall and there's just pictures lined
up just as far as I can see, and to
your left are just these powerful stories that we that
you see there, and it's a story, it's a it's
a program with the Story Core where we have a

(05:56):
chance to sit down regardless of who you are.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Maybe you knew someone who served.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Maybe you maybe maybe it was grandma and grandpa, maybe
it was your mom and dad, maybe it was yourself.
You have the opportunity to share your story. The museum
wants to hear that story. But even if you didn't serve,
we still want to hear what July fourth means.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
To you as well. So it's gonna be a great
opportunity to engage.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Steven.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I want you to look into the camera because we're
on Facebook Live, and I want you to tell everybody
what July fourth means to you.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
July fourth means the opportunity that this is the greatest
country on the planet. And what's great about it is
that this this country gives you the opportunity to.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
To dream more, to do more, and to become more.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
So for me, it's personal. You know, you're looking at
someone who's the first generation college student, and you know that, yeah,
you know, but for the opportunities that I that that
I've been blessed with here in this in this great country,
you know I might not be here.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
This is a unique place.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
This is a unique country that exists nowhere else in
the world, and so regardless of who you are, regardless
of your background, this country gives you the opportunity to
follow your dreams. That's what July fourth means to me,
and that's why this day is so special. That's Oh
my gosh.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
We're so lucky to have him in the studio with
us today because that was great.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, and how lucky are we for the partnership going
on between Kosai and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum
right now. That's fantastic. So from a ticket perspective, you
mentioned this at the beginning, that is not is that
that's not just the fourth you guys have this partnership
going on right now throughout the summer moving forward period.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Yeah, this is going throughout the summer. And so again
we again our powers combined. What better way to come
down to the style of peninsula in downtown Columbus where
you've got two nationally recognized museums, go to Kosai Experience.
You know, right now we've got Star Wars going on,
So go check out Star Wars.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm coming over for CEV in a couple of weeks.
I'm so excited for Kosei after dark.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Absolutely, and then just go across the street and experience
this other beautiful gym that is the National Veterans More Museum.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
So yes, check it out.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
We want an opportunity for folks to be able to
experience both of those opportunities.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
I'm so glad that you're going to be opening the
doors on the fourth, because usually that's the day that
everything is closed down. People go downtown for Red, White
and Boom on the third, and then they kind of
do their own community fireworks. But this is something else
that they can do on the fourth, which really does
give meaning to Independence Day. I think it's an outstanding idea.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
I do too.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I think I'm going to try to make it over.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
We have it.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
We're going to go to Westerville for we have friends
that are having a Yukur tournament, and so we're going
to go that direction, and I think we need to
stop downtown before we go to the Yukur.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Where did you say you're.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Going to be Westerville? But the Hilliard fireworks Westerville back
to hill heard for Heritage joke for Heritage Golf Club.
But no, that's a great stop on your way around
town that day.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Absolutely, you know it's one of the reasons we decided.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
You know, doctor Burtley, who uh you know was here
I think a couple weeks ago, you know, said hey,
let's open up the doors for this special day. For
the exact moment you just the reason you just said,
which is, you know, this is an opportunity for everyone
everywhere to be inspired. And what better way to do
it than on July fourth. Yeah, our nation's birthday. Our
nation's birthday.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
So where do people go to find out more about
all that you're doing and see about tickets all that
good stuff.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, go ahead and check out the NVMM website. So
you want to go to National VMM dot org so
you'll be able to help check out all of those details,
or just google National Venterors Momory Museum. It'll come right
up and then you'll see all those details that you'll
be able to experience there on July fourth.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
That's awesome. I think it's great. We're so glad that
you popped in. I know it was kind of a
last minute thing, but it worked out so well. And
you got to talk about elephant toothpaste.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Got to talk about elephant toothpaste. You won't want to
miss it. Check it out. You'll experience red, white, and blue,
a unique moment, fun for every especially kids and the family.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Come check it out.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I was supposed to ask you a question before you go.
This is before you god here Mandy, our last guest
who can see it's like a piece of art because
the architecture of this place is also amazing. He can
see your place from his condo. Why is there turf
on top? Do you know the answer to that question?
I mean, if you don't, that's okay.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
You're talking about the.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Museum on top of the museum, he was saying.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
For the National Veterans, Yes, uh, you know, there is
there is a when you go to the first off, Yes,
you're right. The museum is an architectural feat of engineering
with its circular shape, which is, by the way, that
concrete circular shape very very difficult to achieve. But at
the top there there is a performance area that you

(10:39):
can you can you can have you can rent out
that space, and there's some greenery there that's surrounding that.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Some believe that's.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
What's probably what you see. And I've had I've had
someone that I know get married. Actually, I think at
the top of the space if I'm not at this
event space.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
That's true, that's.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Right, it's one of the idea you could rent that out.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I will argue.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
It's one of the most beautiful places in the city
of Columbus for you to check out.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
So if you hadn't seen it, check it out. You'll
be blown away.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
You'd have to be a Midwestern millionaire to pay for
that rental space.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
But no, I'm just not at all if it's affordable.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Count us in count us in well, thank you so
much for coming out today and so national v M
M dot org. Yes, check out all the things.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Thank you so much. And you look so great with
your almost white but the red and the blue.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I love it, love it, love Yes
