Catherine is a physician and the Chair and Founder of The Hush Foundation , a not-for-profit organisation working to transform healthcare culture through the arts. Hush, in collaboration with some of Australia’s finest music and other artists has commissioned sixteen music albums and a Treasure Book to reduce stress and anxiety in healthcare settings and beyond. Hush was formed in 2000.
Hush music is played in operating theatres, waiting rooms and wards around the world to calm patients undergoing painful procedures or treatments. An unexpected advantage is that the staff working in the hospital environment also benefit from the calming and restorative effects of Hush music.
