Speaker 1 (00:55):
Welcome into the party to night.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Baby about to go over Penn State fumbles, coaching search,
Shocker six or host Warriors tomorrow night. We'll talk a
little ten ninety eight at the end of the show. Eagles,
Chargers preview score predictions, offensive defensive players of the game,
and then a lot of Eagles because that's just what
we you know, it's just how we open, it's how
we roll. For this time of the year, So heavy
(01:19):
Eagles and even more of a reason heavy Eagles is
just the way they've been playing. So it's got to
be heavy Eagles, ties or a pole. Not what you
wanted to not what we want to talk about tonight.
You know, we want to talk about more more of
us going down the mountain than up the mountains right
as a team. Right now, now that that's not what
(01:40):
we wanted to talk about. We were really hoping the
last Wednesday to come on this Wednesday and we'll be
feeling a little bit better about ourselves. We did not
get that reward, but it goes into who needs to
play better size in our pole question, the offensive line
must be the most improved unit on the field to
break the losing streak. Do you agree to agree? Let
(02:00):
us know? Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, that's what we're live. Everybody,
get your podcasts, whatever as well. Hit to like, subscribe, follow,
Most importantly, join the conversation with us. Chime in. What
do you say? Is it? Is it the offensive line?
Is it jailing? Is it the play calling? What do
you say? I'm gonna agree to it because for as
(02:25):
long as I've been watching football, I've always said you
win and lose up front. So you know, when you
can't run the football, it's pretty glaring. You can put
some of that on play calling, on Saquon taking it,
you know, taking a heavy workload last year, and you
can put a lot of it on the offensive line,
and then and the moving parts, and then then you
(02:45):
get penalties and and just things that set you back.
So I mean, I don't know, I don't know who
else you put on number one when you can't run
the football well. I mean, if you could run the
football halfway well, and then I'd be like, okay, yeah,
I mean it's all on jailing. When you can't run
the football at all, that starts up front. That starts
up front. So you know, I absolutely agree. Usually I
(03:07):
have like big rants with pole questions. I do not
with this one. I mean, I'm gonna disagree with anybody
that starts telling me other people and putting other people first.
I'm gonna start I'll go after those people tonight, because
as much as I love all this offensive line, they
haven't played well. They haven't run block well. And if
(03:29):
you're not gonna run block well, we're in a lot
of trouble. And we talked about this last week. We
talked about the week before, the week before that, the
week before that, so many weeks. We're gonna talk about
it today. Start getting it right and start having some
explosive plays and start getting in some positive you know,
positive runs. What I mean, it's five, five, seven, ten yarders.
(03:53):
I mean, get a first down on and run one time?
What does that feel?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Just like? I mean, when it's been that int, when
it's been that inapt you.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Point all things, I start to point all fingers out
of the line.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I'll give a.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Shit about a play call. When you're talking about running
the football.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You know what I mean. When you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Runing the football, it's about it's about helmet on helmet,
and you know, we'll drive your guy, drive your guy. Hey,
that's what it's about. Get drive your guy, get to
the next level, hit the next guy.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
You know what I mean, Drive your guy, get the next.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
Yeah, drive your guy back and not have a yellow
flat flag being thrown. You know, I mean, we're not blocking,
not past protecting, and committing far too many penalties.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
No, you're right, and that's why that's why I agree.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Starts up front.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
What do you guys say, family out there, let us know,
what do you guys say, and then.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
We'll get in there.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
We'll get into our Chargers preview here and score predictions.
And Justin Herbert's gonna play, so anybody's read those reports,
He's gonna play Monday night.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
So put about you on that hand, put a bounty
on that left hand.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I mean, listen, I'd rather play, you know what I mean.
I don't you know at my age now, it's like
i'd rather I'd rather play.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I don't want to. I don't want a freebie. I mean,
I don't want a freebie. I want to I want
to see that we're getting better. I want to see
that we can we can learn from mistakes from how
we started this season, and we can start to come
out of it maybe towards the end of the year
here and start to play maybe our best football these
last like five weeks, right, I mean, that's what I
want to say. So give me your give me your best, guy.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
I'll take a freebie. The way we're playing right now.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
I'm not against a freebie.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I'm just saying I think we got free coming up,
So I'm not Yeah, I'm not freebie. Now, right right now,
I want to.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
I want to.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
I'll go play. Would you got that play the best?
Like your best? Not the best, you know? I mean
I want to play where your who your best is.
I don't want to play I don't play backups at
the quarterback position like this is.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
This is a nut up or shut up game. This
is just show me what you are because this is
your You got a couple of cupcake games after this one,
So show me something here against another team that's a
playoff team, has a you know, top borderline, top five quarterback, right,
and the coach who has proved that he can win.
(06:28):
So you're going across the country. It's not like you're
gonna be in hostile territory. There's gonna be thousands of
Eagles fans out there. So it's you gotta go out
there and play well against another and another playoff caliber team,
and you haven't seen them play well in general, right,
So you gotta show me something. But yeah, I think
(06:50):
it's ultimately come down to the offensive line, right.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
I absolutely agree to the poll.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
I mean, this offensive line has been nothing short of
dog shit for most.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Of the season.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
I hate to say it, and I get it. We've
been banged up there. We've had guys in and out
of the lineup due to injury. But look, the bottom
line is, it's not It's not hard to run block,
you know, it's not hard to stay focused and not
commit penalty after penalty.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
I mean, the few.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Explosive plays we've had this year, I can't tell you
how many have been called back because of a goddamn
holding penalty or some type of procedure penalty.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
It's got to stop. It's got to stop. I mean,
we blew a twenty one point lead down in Arlington.
If then, if that.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Wasn't damning enough, here comes Black Friday, Okay, and boy
we look black.
Speaker 7 (07:57):
And blue by the time that ball game was over.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
I mean, you might as well throw the defensive line
in this pole question too, because we'll go one A,
one B. They both have been dog shit the last
two weeks. It's inexcusable. It is inexcusable on your home
turf to get bullied, punked and run the fuck over
the way we were. How the fuck do you give
(08:24):
up two hundred and eighty yards on the ground. How
I mean, I'm sorry, but that goes with effort. I
think that's a little bit of an effort problem. And
on the offensive line to not be able to at
(08:45):
least create a couple holes for Sakuon.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Now, don't get me wrong, he hasn't been great.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
Either, all right, a little dancing around a little too
much for my liking, all.
Speaker 7 (08:58):
Right, But let's be real.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
If we don't don't get it done in the trenches,
and we don't greatly improve there on both sides of
the ball, we are going nowhere.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
File fuck the freebie game.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
I mean, the opponents the rest of the year, we're
gonna they're gonna look us, look at us on the
schedule like, oh, that's a freebie for us. I mean,
what the fuck I mean you're you're talking about. We're
going down the wrong side of the mountain. It's looking
like a goddamn mud slide right now, and it's gotta
(09:36):
stop before the house ends up into the fucking ocean.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
If you know what I mean, I get you drifted.
Speaker 7 (09:45):
I mean, it all starts up front.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I've been I've always been a firm believer of that,
and when we've had success, it's when our offensive and
defensive line are at their best, like they were last year.
We are all line We fucking mauled people.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
We mauled them and no ship We were healthy too
for the most part.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
And the glaring thing is, I don't know what the
record is, I don't have it off hand, but when
Lane Johnson is not in the lineup, we're just a
different football team. And I don't mean that in a
good way. We're a shell of ourselves. And hopefully we
can get him back sometime in the next few weeks.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Here.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I mean, yeah, it's bad leaning.
Speaker 7 (10:41):
I mean, I don't want to say Monday and Monday
nights I must win.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
But we're damn near close to it because, oh, by
the way, the Cowboys found a way to stop choking.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
Right on our I hear you. But we need we
need well, we need to fucking step on the gas,
is what we need to do.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, yeah, we need to worry about we we don't
need to worry about We don't need to worry about
what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
We gotta go take care of what we gotta do.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
I think, based off what you've seen in the NFL,
like the Rams lost this past weekend. Obviously you just
played the Bears. The Bears the number one, number one seed,
in the NFC, Right, they're gonna drop some games. I
think that pretty much every if you can win out right,
if you not off the shut up, you get yourselves
ready to go and play, and you start ball playing
(11:38):
well this week, and then you can roll that through.
You play the Raiders. I know you play Washington. I
don't know the order of that. You got the Bills
and then you got Washington again. Look, it's it's five
winnable games, right. I mean not to say that any
other game that we play because of the talent we
have isn't winnable, right, but you can absolutely win out
here and still control your own destiny and potentially having
(11:59):
the one see right, even with your two you know,
two losing streaks where you blew a lead to the
Broncos and then got blown out by the Giants. So
this is the second time that they've done this this year.
You blew a lead to Dallas, right, and then you
got smoked by the Bears've done it twice. Now they
bounce back somewhat right one a couple of games in there,
(12:20):
but ultimately, like you have to figure out like what
you are as a team, right, You're you're still absolutely
in this, you control your own destiny because every other
team is gonna drop a game or two. You have
to be able to show that you because of the
talent you have, go out there and like win it.
But yeah, I mean this offensive line is just absolutely brutal.
(12:43):
It has been pretty much all year, but it's showed
a lot over the last like a couple of weeks.
More so because they're not allowing anything pass blocking. I
think we've given up one, maybe two sacks pass blocking.
So why is it so different when you're trying to run,
Like I know, I saw a few clips with like
like we've been throwing out two tight ends sets just
(13:04):
a block and they're getting blown up. Right, So even
the help that we're offering, they're not winning at the
point of attack. And either are the others of the
offensive linemen are out of position or they're out of
the play. And then that's why Saequon's getting in the
backfield so much. I think Saquon had almost six yards
of carry last year. It yeah, no, it's he was
(13:30):
averaging whereas he was averaging five point eight last year.
Now right now he's in three point seven, so all right, Yeah,
he had a massive workload last year. Maybe lose a step. Right,
You're not losing two yards in one year in one offseason, right.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
That's why it's a combo. That's why it's a comba.
It's a combo him losing a step and could use
a change of pace. Guy with them, like we talked
about since September yet screamed about it. But it's I
did not play Saquan. It's I'm not playing them. I'm
just giving him ten to twelve touches early on in
(14:07):
the year because I want to take a little bit
of the workload off that he put on last year.
And where can I make those touches up? Well, why
not make them up in September and October? Right, like
perfect time to make them up and give them less
and build them up, you know, like a picture.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Build them up.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Go seven eight carries first week, you know, and you
bring in like the twelve range week two. But you
keep them, you keep them in that range. You know,
give him that ten to twelve, ten to twelve, ten
and twelve. And you do that for like four or
five weeks, and you just give a little breather to him,
and now you show something different. Now you roll out
Saquan in a full you know, a full workload. I
(14:45):
understand about rhythm and understand about all that with backs,
I get it, and he's a he's a play away
from a home run.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
But when because we haven't seen one.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
We haven't seen a home run a lot, not anytime
soon if we don't improve it now.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
Second Giants games, last time I can remember.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
It, you had a first play game.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
Yeah, it's the last one I can remember him breaking
one for more than like ten yards.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yeah, but I'm saying he hasn't had a big house call.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
You know what, direly have what twenty two yards rushing
or some shit against Chicago, I believe.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
Yeah, something like that.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
That's not good enough. That's what you at.
Speaker 7 (15:22):
It's unacceptable.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Key word tonight is unacceptable because I'll give you, like
losing one of the two games in five days or
four days, whatever you want to call. I'll give you
losing one. But when you call up the first one
like you did, you have to win Friday? You have
to I did. That was going to tell me a
lot about them. So here we are. But then a
(15:47):
factor in that on a short week, you know, that's
where defensive line could get a little bit exposed in
our type of system, right where we really rely on
our our tackles, rightly on our linebackers, and in a
short week, those guys could be tired. So I don't
think Vic did a good enough job adjusting to the
weather and getting more guys down the box. Yeah, I
(16:11):
mean he stayed. He stayed missionary Vic, and he stayed
what he believes in. And listen, we can love Vick
all we want, doesn't mean he changed his game point
one bit for what they were doing us.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
And at the end.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Of the day, right we were still in that football game,
so all the time, and our defense, as bad as
they were, didn't take us.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Out of it.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yep, they got they got stops down there, and you know,
things go your way. And in reality, they got the
biggest play of the game. What we needed, we needed
to turn over down in there, and we got one.
And then not capitalize on that in any fashion, you
know when you're talking about know that. And then the
other momentum swing was prior to that, and it's Elliott
(16:55):
missing the extra point.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Yeah, that was completely inexcusable. You can't about a momentum killer.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Like we're talking about trying to get over this hump
of like being consistent, and it's hard to be consistent
when you do something great, per se and great. But
I mean scoring a talkchdown, coming back ten nine, kick
the extra point ten then right that you know you
can't miss that. Now it's ten nine and you feel
like you're still losing a game where this game's ten
ten and it should have been twenty one to three.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
And listen, and this is back to back weeks where
he's missed a critical kick.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah, and then I mean.
Speaker 7 (17:30):
The whole team needs to get their head out of
their ass.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Yeah, I thought special teams, you name it the fucking
water boy.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
I mean, come on, you get out there quick.
Speaker 7 (17:40):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Now? Get out there fast enough? You know, well, listen,
you got.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
No you're saying, and that miskick then though that miss
extra point ends up coming back to biting and the
ass late in the gate, Yeah you know, because now
you've got to go for two there too. But yeah, regardless,
you had to go for somewhere a right, either lose
the game there or you lose the game at the
at the gun potentially right always, Yeah, I think the extend,
(18:12):
especially the way that game was going. I'm in full
agreements with you. Uh but yeah, I mean I absolutely
agree to poll as well. Uh, you could, like, like
Noah said in his glorious rant, you can make an argument,
a really good argument for the the defensive line as well.
Speaker 7 (18:28):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
But but it is offensive line, and you could almost
pin that on the whole season. Uh, as a lot
of you guys have mentioned, right, you can pin the
offensive line and no struggles on a lot of what
our struggles.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Are a penalty that killer for a miss blocking assignment
or your naming guys.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
And right, I like that you brought up to how
it's not necessarily the passing game. It's all right. The
action has been really good Jalen's head forever. He just
doesn't pull the trigger, you know. And then when you
then when you sit there and you watch the Chicago
Bears offensive line from Friday night, and you see were
(19:12):
Friday after noon, and you see what they did to
our defensive line, who we like to think of our
defensive line and having a bunch of dogs up there, well,
they looked like kiddy cats on Friday.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
The way they volt.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, but the only difference is in style of defense.
Like they're they're they're playing more guys in the box.
Chicago's defense they're more down yea for some things.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
And they know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
I'm saying. I'm sorry, I'm saying Chicago Bears offensive line
to our defensive line. Oh yeah, watching that was like
watching us last year.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Right.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Yeah. But my point is that is it's a little
bit easier to maull in that situation because you don't
play anybody down the box. Yes, sure are you're mowling
or you're really just two on one blocking guys. Yeah,
Like here's combo blocking guys creating space in their seven
eight yards Like you know what I mean. At some
point in those types of games you have to adjust.
(20:02):
Do I put it on the defensive line? Absolutely, boys,
I ain't giving these guys. I ain't land these guys
off the damn hook. That's style we play all the time.
But on a short week, that ain't the style you
can play in short week. You got to go show
something completely different, something no chance they game planned for it.
And that's a bunch of guys down the box in
a cold weather game and Darren darrenn in that wind
(20:24):
to go win it in the air. That's what I do.
I dare you to win the air. I don't dare
you in cold weather to point it on the ground.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
I don't know Vic on a short week so that
I've had one gripe with Vic the entire year. That
that game that no adjustments is my only one. It's
not all on him. But you could you could load
the box more and I didn't see it. I felt
like it was the same, the same, the same. Yeah,
you know, yep, five six guys in the box almost
(20:54):
daring you to run.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
It was the same every time as Chicago, whether it
was Kyle I'm a young guy or the other or Swift.
I mean, every time they got the fucking ball, it
was five yards, six yards, seven yards, ten yards, you
name it. You can't you can't give up that kind
of yardage on the ground. You can't get dashed like that.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Alfred.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
I won't say Jonne holds the ball because Nick beat
in his head that not turn the ball over. I mean,
I think any common sense quarterback that grew up being
taught the quarterback position in the right way was taught,
was taught you don't turn the football over. Right, Any
quarterback coach would teach you period, all right, unless you're
Brett Farvin, you're just a flat out gunslinger. Likes to
(21:42):
try to fit it in there. It's two title windows, right,
but A why guys are gonna tell you not turn
the football over? So, I mean, is that why he
holds it too long? I don't know if he's hes
intent to throw it. Maybe I haven't watched tape on it,
like the back end of the place, like, I don't
know if guys just aren't open either on some of
the long protection times where he's had a lot of
(22:03):
time to throw. That's why we'll continue to talk about
the ability to get your legs and Bob Man like
he has to it with such an asset to this game.
He starts, he starts breaking off fifteen twenty yard runs.
Right when when the pocket breaks down, get out of
the dodge, break off a twenty yard er. Now, linebackers
have to play in the box more right that, Yeah,
(22:24):
linebackers played. My linebacker's gonna play down hill more towards you,
more focused on you. And the same thing with well
guys playing you know the safety position.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah, I think not only the designed runs U, but
I think we've we've lost the element of the scramble,
which I think was so impactful last year, especially, you know,
Jalen throughout his early career was so scripted run because
he was trying to stay back there and trying to
find the open man that when he started scrambling. I
(22:56):
remember last year when he started scrambling, we were all flabbergash,
singers like, oh oh, this is what Lamar does, This
is what Josh does, this is what Patty does to defenses.
It gives them that other element that I'm not just
it's not gonna just be a QB drawl where I
just dropped back, wait two seconds and then go, or
or or another designed QB run. It's it's that that undesigned, that,
(23:18):
you know, impromptu type of of scramble that made him
so effective last year. And you're right, Tommy, we don't
see that this year. We barely even see the design
runs that that that are supposed to, you know, be there.
Speaker 6 (23:33):
But it almost seemed like they did a few this
past week. But I think we were down two touchdowns
at the time. I'm like why, and it worked. I'm
like to it worked twice, so I'm like, all right, okay, cool,
why are we doing this? Why is why is the
break emergency glass button? Okay, Jalen, let's run now. Like
I think there's got to be some form of ability
(23:55):
to mix both in. I mean, it's not like you
haven't done it before, right, or maybe maybe get Jalen
out on like a like an option route or something
like give the given the ability to do a quick
sprint out, maybe some college style stuff as opposed to
him just being a strict pocket passer.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
I think I still think he's a good QB. I
still think he's a franchise QB. But let's face her,
he's he is not a pure pocket passer. He is
better when he is on the move. And you know,
he's gonna have to use his legs if we want
any shot to stop this slide.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
And you know, save this season.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yeah, but he just won a Super Bowl with him,
so all that being said, we still want.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
Yeah, so he's good enough again, like he's.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
He's good enough to dominate in both of those games
too with his arm.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
Yeah, he's got the tools. He's never had the issue
of being the tools. I think this year is just.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
The it's lazy to sit there and now all of
a sudden come back and say, jail And can't play quarterback, right,
that's that's the lazy thing. Oh, now he can't throw.
He was the best. He was the best quarterback on
the field. And the two Super Bowls that we were
in the other one we just didn't win. But it
wasn't his fault we didn't win.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Agreed.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
You're right, but he gave up seven himself.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
You're right. I completely forgot that and one of his guys,
I'm one of those guys that's not gonna let that down.
But yes, you're right. And I can't even say outside
of that because that was that was the biggest part
of the game. It was so early. But that being said,
he still is the best quarterback on the field those
two those two games and the biggest games of the
(25:48):
of the season or the or of the franchise, and
still performed with his arm. Now all of a sudden,
everyone's coming out and saying he can't throw, he can't pants?
Is he having a down year? We could say the
two things and they can be absolutely both true. That
Jalen Hurts can't go to football and Jalen Hurts stinks
this year. The two things are outside of each other
(26:09):
and both can be true. Like, it's just lazy to
sit here and say, oh, we can't go to football.
He's not a pure pocket passier, no shit, never was.
But all the dude did up until the four games
in this year coming off of Super Bowl win is
win football games. Now he's lost four games, two in
a row, in two different times, and now all of
(26:30):
a sudden, we want Tynan to McKinnon. Is he gonna
be back? What the hell is going on with jailing? Oh? God,
we're okay, We're okay.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yeah, people are idiots in terms of like that.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
I am not in I am not insinuating in any way,
shape or form sitting jailing. That would be the dumbest
That would be the dumbest move ever.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
I mean, he he had to play better on this.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
You need to play better. Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Yes, sure they might talk about benching him after he
just won a super Bowl and like we talked about
being two super Bowls in three years and now playing
the goat right now, Yeah, that's playing the big bad wolf,
and you got playing them in two of them and
win one of them, and now we're going to talk
about sitting them, not even a calendar year after that,
(27:25):
like we talked about now, if this was a team
and the back to just circle back to the poll
for anybody in laid here, if this was a team
built on throwing the football forty five times a game,
I would tell you, or you know what I mean,
thirty times a game, thirty five, forty whatever you want
to say, I would tell you that. Okay, it's not
the offensive line, it's the quarterback. But it's a team
that's built to throw it twenty five times or under,
(27:47):
and you're gonna win a shit ton of games, maybe
all of them. But when you can't, when you can't
run the football, then you gotta throw more than twenty
two times. So there it is. That's why it circles
back to the offensive line.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
Mm hmmm, Hey mister Daly, what's up, buddy?
Speaker 6 (28:05):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (28:06):
I agree that was a big win tonight. Not only that,
mark it down.
Speaker 7 (28:11):
Not only are they going to the postseason, I think
they win. I think they win a postseason series.
Speaker 6 (28:16):
Oh boy, uh wired up, let's go.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Yes, six ers ago the Eastern Conference finals too.
Speaker 8 (28:28):
Right, No, that's not that I'm not drinking any loggers here, crag.
I just said, I just said, the Flyers are going
to win a playoff series.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
How do you get how do you get how do
you get your urgency back? Get your ant kicked right?
You go to film, you go to film studing, and
you're getting you.
Speaker 7 (28:50):
Know, getting mauled, malled.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
I think, listen, I think these extra days can help them.
I want to believe as we get in here are
talking about previewing the Chargers game a little bit that
I want to believe I'm going to get our best effort.
Does that mean our cleanest game? I don't know. I
don't know at this point right, but I do I
do believe I'm going to get our best effort. I
(29:15):
think when you can let the body breathe a little
bit and the bruises aren't as bruised anymore, it can
give you a little bit more effort naturally. So I
expect to see a little bit more fight because their
backs are against the wall now. Right. When we talked
about we talked about the fact that we thought they
were playing with their food. Well, if you're playing with
your food, times up, babe, now, times up, and playing
(29:38):
with your food. It's time to go, yeah, foot on
the gas, time to eat it, time to go wash
your hands when you're ship, when you're done, and wash
your hands. I don't know this pan diarrhea, right, that's
what it's time for after the fact. But you know,
they got they gotta they gotta stop.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Playing with it.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
They gotta find that sense of urgency. And I think
when you talk about losing number one seed and see
what happened, because there's two losses in five dates, four
days wherever you want to say, two losses in a
short period of time. And I think when you have
that happen to you, it creates even more drama. Like
we talked about that was gonna happen and if that,
if that took place, and it did, so, where do
(30:20):
you go from here? You know?
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Who are they?
Speaker 2 (30:22):
What's your identity as a football team? We don't know
because they don't have one. And you hope the time
off and the reset again because I already had one,
but another little MANI buy can can you you would hope?
Can re They can refigure some things out right? They can?
They can, I don't know, design some better things right,
(30:43):
decide what they're what what is what is going to
be the thing we do?
Speaker 1 (30:47):
What's it going to be?
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Right?
Speaker 1 (30:50):
You know, sau Losses. I lost a little bit.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Of a step this year because of the touches. We
need to get more guys than Bob right, like they
gotta They're gonna sit down and figure things out. We're
gonna throw the ball thirty five times a game? Are
we going to figure it out? Running the football? And
that's what they got to decide. And I think any
good team and any good organization would want to would
want to start this process by saying, you know what
(31:12):
we want to do in our identity. We want to
be able to run the football and build off of that.
And that's any good team I don't know, like Patrick
Mahomes led teams and any of their teams, Tom Brady
led team, they want to be able to run the football
well his sets up being able to throw the ball
easier and better like that, it's common sense helpful a
(31:33):
quarterback being able to run the football.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
But since we can't, the.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Morons that the novacare hadn't figured the hell out that
run the quarterback and then maybe people get what they want.
I mean, maybe we'll get a concussion, and they'll get
Tanner and everybody be oh against Like, look, get Tanner
against Washington, you know, spin it all around and everybody be,
you know, mouthful of Tanner, who I think can play
(31:59):
by But I don't know if he's a franchise quarterback
or any of these types of things where we.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
Haven't got quality backup. And he's a backup for a reason.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
For a reason.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
You give him, you give him a couple of weeks,
I'll start exposing what he can't do. Give it time,
give film time, so before you go crowning. But our
quarterback needs to play better, and he knows it, but
he needs to play better. And the people talking about
benching him, and the people talk about he can't play,
forget throwing greg. The people talking about he can't play
(32:32):
are the morons. They're the idiots. They say he can't play.
Knock it off, man, all right, doesn't mean you don't
have off years now. He's got to figure the hell out.
Because when do we when do we say when it
really matters when we talk about basketball, Oh, the last
five minutes really matters, right, we talk about we talk
about a football season that is stretched right here, it's
(32:53):
the final quarter December. Yeah, we are in the final
quarter of the regular season, so it is time. It
is officially time to start playing your best football. So
whenever you know, we we believe. If I'm wrong, you
guys tell me I'm wrong, But we believe he's a
little bit of a one of these. He's one of these,
(33:16):
a little bit of a light switch guy. I want
to believe that from when I'm watched in super Bowls,
he's got that.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
He's got that light switch in him.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
And he's not even super Bowls, just bigger games, right,
So I want to believe he still has that. You
don't lose that. I believe he's a winner. I think
that his record speaks to that, as he had the
luxury of good, good teams. Yeah, but he's also at
the luxury. He's been damn good. And the biggest thing
we tell that he doesn't turn the football over. Last
week he turned the football over twice. We talked about
(33:45):
how do you lose? Last week, I told you that
you lose, you gave it.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
You give the football away to that.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Okay, captain, obvious time, same way you're gonna lose, same
way you lose against the Chargers. You you get the
football away, we'll write it down then because we ain't
good enough to win that way right now. I think
that might be some of the reason he's holding on
the ball a little bit too much, not trusting some things.
But listen, this is the closed environment, right, this is
(34:13):
you know, it's beautiful closed environment turf. I mean, you
got to get back. You got to get back to
this offense. I need a thirty point game, you know
what I mean. I need a thirty point game. I
need it. And I don't even need a defense to
be anything crazy. I you know, I needed the offense
to come play football. You know, I need a thirty
one you know, twenty four game, thirty one to twenty seven.
(34:37):
I don't care if he even get twenty seven points, right,
you know, I.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
Just need them to not give up to eighty on
the ground again.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
That's yeah, yeah, Like I don't know, I don't care
about getting twenty eight point if I scored thirty one,
like they're allowed to have.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
They're allowed to have an off week.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Now, what I would love to see happen is just
a full, full, complete game, which you know I argued
about that we didn't need earlier on the year, but
we're at the time now. We we are over that now.
And I'll even take three great quarters, you know what
I mean, Like, I'm I'm not gonna be a pig
I'm not gonna be Tommy Piggy Yeah, Tommy Piggy Bank
is looking looking for more change in the back here. Okay,
(35:13):
I'll take three damn good quarters of football and you
win Monday night.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
And I know that to be true.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
So three damn good quarters of football and we win,
and we win Monday night, and I think that would
make me feel better. Two great quarters of football, great
quarters of football would make me feel better. A great
second quarter and fourth quarter for a win would make
me feel feel better, right, Two great quarters that aren't
in the same half would make me feel better.
Speaker 7 (35:39):
That you can maybe scoring a point after halftime.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Yeah, I mean scoring points period would be exciting, so
you know, hopefully, you know, sometimes going indoors can help it,
but it hasn't helped much for us. But I'll take
some first downs to start. But listen, I want to
believe that we can still score at a high rate.
I mean, how do we not like how do we
(36:05):
how do we continue to not score at high rate.
So now you're this deep into a season. Okay, you
another little mini buy going on here? How are you
and the offensive coordinator and a unit not now officially
all on the same page at this rate right now? Like,
how are you guys not knowing? Like these are the
type of plays we want to run. This is what
we do best. How's everybody now on the same page
(36:27):
with that at this point? And listen, man, we need
we need to run for one hundred and fifty goddamn
yards on the ground. That's what we need to do
Monday night. It's got to be one hundred and fifty
yards between the quarterbacks, the quarterback and the running back.
It needs to be one hundred and fifty plus yards
on the ground. All right, that's what we need to go.
(36:49):
Do we need to go? Do we well, we're capable
of doing. And wake the fuck up, all right, use
a little Noah here and to wake the fuck up
and go run the football right God damn. And I'm
tired of it, tired of watching it. It's atrocious. It's atrocious.
All this money up there, all these assets, all right,
I told you, tyrras Steen stinks, right. We knew that
(37:11):
maybe just swap jersey with back then before the game,
and everybody's happy and you guys, but.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
He's getting pulled out there from his play good. He's
not even playing full games.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Out there over.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
Release them, caught them, wave them, We'll take them, like
gonna go play guard. But listen, it's it's gotta be
not even a get right game, it's gotta.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Be a win. I'm gonna go thirty one. I'm gonna
go to thirty one, twenty four.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
I want to I want to believe in this defense
to also wake up, and twenty four is not a
crazy number. But I'm gonna go thirty one, twenty four,
twenty one in that range. But yeah, I hope it's
a I want to hope it's a better game. I
have no rhyme or reason to pick out to win
this point read this moment, besides just what I've witnessed
(38:05):
over the course of.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
This regime.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
This this quarterback, like, I know twenty twenty three, but
I tell her. People ask me all the time, tom oh,
you know it's twenty twenty three. Again, I said, yeah, listen, man,
that's an easy thing that dial radio can tell you
twenty twenty three again. Hey Tom twenty twenty three. Again, Hey,
it's gonna be our headline twenty twenty three again. Okay,
it's easy, easy, quickbait, drive time type shit. Okay, I
(38:36):
will make this very clear again. Now, if Friday happens again,
then yeah, then then then maybe we are in twenty
twenty three. But this defense is way too damn good
for twenty twenty three.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
All right.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
I believe too much in the coordinator and the players
that we're gonna pull twenty twenty three here. So I'm
gonna bet no on that. And the schedule dictates that
doesn't have up in two. Now, anybody can beat anybody,
and if you're sliding, maybe then you're really sliding. But
I can't see it happen again. I think they know better.
(39:09):
I think they're battle tested with it, and I think
they have a quarterback that knows how to win football
games or be able to keep his team in games.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
They're allowed to, man, they're allowed to play some bad football.
Speaker 7 (39:21):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Now you can say it's led.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Up to this.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
I tend to agree and disagree with it.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Right because they've won games, so when you win, it
doesn't matter how you win you won, So I don't
want to say it led up to this.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
I think we just.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Played our worst football these last five days. Now you
get a reset football. God's looking down at you. Let
me reset you. Let me send you out to a
beautiful LA for a Monday night or and ready to
fuck back up again. So let's go, because we're gonna
know if Dallas wins again Thursday tomorrow night, we're gonna know.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
I mean, that's a nice thing, right, We're going to
know going into the game.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Well, we got to do well, we got to do
it anyway.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Well, sure, yes, I want them to win because I
want to sent an urgency to win, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
I want the sense of they're off our rears.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Now.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
I don't want them to win because I hate them,
but in reality.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Like like I don't want to play my worst football
going into the playoff because I can. I expect to
win games in right, am I picking us to win
in the playoffs if we can't, if we can't take
care of some things in the regular season, and maybe
sometimes getting on the roads. Good for this football team
because they were getting dude and and sort of getting
run out of the building and your buttol clench out.
(40:36):
So maybe it is that we get a road game,
home game, road game, home game right now and get
out to get out that LA, get away from it
for a little bit and go out there and believe.
Nobody believes you can do it. Nobody believes it anymore.
Everybody thinks you stink. People are acting the coordinator's house,
which is a goddamn joke. Right, And and you know,
(40:58):
take it personal, take a personal as a football team, right,
if you really, if you really care about your coaches
and care about each other and you're a real family.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Go take that ship personal and.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Take that take that out on on where you're playing Monday,
all right, that's what like.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
No, it's it's spot on, Tommy, and it's all right,
Like it is nice that LA isn't this overbearing, this
over you know, this home game centric type of place, right,
you gotta go out right, as you said early on,
it's gonna be probably mostly Eagles fans.
Speaker 7 (41:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (41:32):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
The Chargers don't run the football very well, right. Camanie
Vadell is pretty good. He's a pretty good running back.
He's not gonna gash you like DeAndre sith or Monangai did.
Their offensive line is one of the worst offensive lines
in football. Yeah, and has been throughout the year. There,
I mean, they're rotating guys in throughout the game itself.
There's there's reports that McKay beck to the naturally was
(41:58):
it is on the sideline in the middle of wondering
why he's not in the game, like there's no reason
why he's not playing, and then he finds out that
it's because hardball doesn't think he's playing well. Right, So
they're a disaster on the offensive line. Obviously, we know
Herbert can spin it. McConkey and Allen they're probably gonna
be the two guys that we have to worry about.
(42:19):
But nah, I have a win. We have to have
a win. This isn't like you know, like Tommy was saying,
this isn't like breaking. We have to have a win.
We are in win mal mode just till we get
ourselves back. And at this point I'm gonna go back
to you know, I don't care what it looks like.
(42:39):
I just need to win. You even look at these
last two games that we lost, they were all one
possession games and we played bat It wasn't like it
wasn't like we got ran out to gym. You know,
we got blitzed out the gym, we got ran you know,
air raid and all this. No, no, no, we lost
those games more than the other teams want them, you know,
(43:00):
our self inflicted wounds, our self inflicted turnovers. You know,
we talk about all year, win the turnover batter, you're
gonna win the games. So we didn't win turnover batter
for two games in a row. Shocker, we didn't win
those games. H thirty, I'm going crazy. Year twenty eight
(43:20):
to twenty one. I don't even like that. I think
it's too close.
Speaker 6 (43:28):
It's too close.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
I think it's too close. Twenty seven to seventeen Eagles.
Speaker 6 (43:35):
Okay, yeah, I already said this is this is a
must winning game. I think. I think every game down
the stretch is a much win game. Right, even if
even if you've already clinched to I don't know, say
the two or three seed, and you're not really playing
anything for Week eighteen, I still kind of want to
see those guys go out and win that game, right,
(43:56):
because if you finish the season at thirteen and four
bit of a hot streak, nobody's remember anything that happened.
In the middle of the season.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Heck, we probably all had thirteen and four of our
high market season anyway.
Speaker 6 (44:07):
I did, I absolutely, one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
It's just the way we lost, right, It's not that
we lost, it's just the way we.
Speaker 6 (44:13):
Lost eight exactly. It's it's you've blown two leads and
then you got blitzed off by you know, just getting
beat in the trenches where you're not used to this
team doing. You're used to this team bullying people in
the trenches, and you had multiple times this year where
you're just getting bum rushed. Right, you're just not winning
anything at the point of attack. I think I've been
(44:37):
saying it for a couple of weeks now. If you
just played average, you probably have two more wins, right, average,
you don't need Like again, you gave away two wins
and then you you got smoked twice because you just
I don't know if you weren't ready, or it was
bad coaching, or if it was just you're you're not
in the right spots, like not getting calls, calls going
(44:59):
the other way. Whatever. It is no rhythm either way.
It's all self inflicted. Right, So all you really need
to do is go play your brand of football whatever
that is. You know. Obviously over the last couple years
has been establishing the run and then being able to
throw off of that because if Jalen throws the ball
(45:19):
under twenty one times or something there, they've lost like twice,
which is way yeah, yeah, like twenty five and on
in front of five. Yeah. But it's it's really hard
to even as bad as they've looked to be like
they're gonna lose this week. I can't physically look at
(45:40):
this team and like they're gonna lose because they shouldn't lose. Now.
Obviously they're gonna lose this the NFL, it's difficult to
win games. But it's so hard to think that this
team that has a Super Bowl MVP quarterback and do
they just ran for two thousand yards, multiple wide receivers
that can go over one thousand yards of this season,
tackles who have been borderline you know all pros, one
(46:06):
of the best you know centers in the league, solid
guard play. It's so hard to think that these guys
aren't just gonna step up and be like, all right, yeah, hey,
we're done, but this is over right. I hope, I
hope they did that at some point over the last week.
Do I think they're gonna look great? Not really, But
like I said, if they can just look average, if
(46:27):
they're gona go in there and get w twenty four
twenty three, mhm, birds.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
We're we're Oh my god, we're nail biting our dicks
off on Monday night.
Speaker 6 (46:41):
Mhm.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (46:43):
It's not gonna be pretty. They're gonna win it, though,
it's gonna be better. There's gonna be shades of better
in there.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
Wow, Maybe I do care what it looks like.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
If it's that, Holy shit, I'm not gonna be happy
watching the game. They're gonna Win're not gonna be happy
about it.
Speaker 3 (47:00):
Holy shit.
Speaker 5 (47:01):
Right, I'll be happy for a win again, I'm happy
off the entire game. What what I need to see
from this football team is to for them to reestablish
their dominance in the trenches. I need this offensive line
(47:21):
and the defensive line to wake the fuck up and
play great football. And if that, if that happens, I
have no doubt in my mind that we go out
to LA and beat the Chargers twenty four to ten.
And that's what I got. I mean, we have to
(47:44):
establish the line of scrimmage, and we have failed to
do that numerous times this year, especially on the offensive line.
And look, it's as as you alluded to earlier, Ryan,
it's not up or shut the fuck up.
Speaker 7 (48:05):
So I mean, look, if we look like dog shit
on Monday night, then I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 5 (48:13):
It's I don't want to hear any more excuses. So
let's go out there, establish the line of scrimmage, win
the turnover battle, and you win the game. I mean, look,
as great a QB as Justin Herbert is, he's known
to throw a few up there up for grabs, and
it's it's up to us to make the plays.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Well, it all starts with It all starts with pressure, yep.
And you can get pressure and a broken hand, so
you can get pressure on a broken hand too, a
little bit more hesitant, and the ability to start taking
the football away a couple of times and put your
offense in some good field position and you know, maybe
not fumble those push after that. But but at the
(48:56):
end of the day, we need some things that start
going our way, start getting start getting good field position
and then and then being able to capitalize off of
that and then get some rhythm and get some good,
good vibes going. You know, either that or you need
to again. You need to have a drive. You need
to get a couple of first downs, and you know
(49:16):
what it's like to put a five, six, seven eight
minute drive together.
Speaker 7 (49:22):
He offensive line. Do me a fucking favor.
Speaker 5 (49:26):
Give me one game where we don't turn a third
and two into a third and seven.
Speaker 7 (49:32):
Give me one fucking.
Speaker 5 (49:34):
Game and fill timed penalty.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
We'll turn in a third and twelve for you.
Speaker 5 (49:44):
Then, Yeah, it'll be a fucking holding penalty.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (49:50):
You weren't specific enough with your with your definitely not
specificate enough. Yeah, Genie, gotcha.
Speaker 5 (49:57):
Man, Just maybe you know on third and inches and
fourth and inches. Yeah, we convert that push push like
we used to.
Speaker 6 (50:07):
Well, I saw I saw a video this the other day.
They haven't been having the second guy on like Jalen's
left hand side right like they're back there, but the
let the guy on the left hand hasn't been up
there pushing. I guess to give the reps some clear
like like like I guess view of Jalen moving forward.
(50:27):
I don't know if that's the actual figure or not.
But guy came in on Jalen's left and ripped the
ball because there's nobody there blocking it. Yeah that that Yeah,
just another thing that hasn't looked right over the last
few weeks.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Insane.
Speaker 6 (50:41):
It's insane.
Speaker 7 (50:42):
One of many things.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Oh yeah, Pat, we've always been one more successful big
chunk play team. You know, it's sort of been our
m out too, But we're also fourth quarter. We're able
to force order, run the game down your throat and
literally just impose our will and have eight minute drives
(51:07):
and say thanks for coming. Yeah, that's that's missing. So
the explosiveness is missing. That's missing. But I said bigger
than anything. They just haven't gotten a rhythm and things
go your way. I mean, you need turnovers these and
things down in their field position and go get seven
(51:28):
and I can sort of get you going a little
bit and then next thing, you know, your offense starts
playing more to the caliber they're capable. Maybe not there
where we want them to be, but better.
Speaker 5 (51:39):
I don't expect us to score on every drive, but
we've got to limit the three and outs.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Offensively, we have a game where you don't punt like that.
Speaker 6 (51:51):
Amazing, I'm taking three now.
Speaker 7 (51:54):
We have at least one.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Yes, he goes on planting toy perfect.
Speaker 6 (52:04):
Yeah, that'd be awesome. There were multiple I feel like
there were multiple games last year where we just didn't punt.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
Yeah, No, I don't I believe there were.
Speaker 7 (52:13):
Yeah, you were, you were correct. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (52:16):
I also remember the part of the postseason run where
we hung a fucking fifty five burger on Washington and
then a forty burger on Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
Times.
Speaker 7 (52:28):
Yeah, I mean we have the capability.
Speaker 5 (52:33):
We've got to get healthy, we've got to limit our
mistakes and overall just play better.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
That might be the thing that that I look at
the most in this game, Tommy. And when you talk
about the drives, if we can sustain two three of
those big time drives, especially if they're in big time moments, right,
big time crunch moments, that might be like, all right,
we might be coming out of this. You know, we
(53:02):
might be coming out of this and like you said earlier,
I don't need a fourth quarter, I don't need you know,
I'll take I'll take portions of it to me. That's
those portions, right. Can we sustain a drive where we
go impose our will down the football field seventy eighty
whatever yards right, seventy five, eighty five, whatever, wherever we start,
(53:23):
can we go and pose our will?
Speaker 6 (53:24):
Right?
Speaker 3 (53:25):
You look back last year that that Pittsburgh team where
we got the ball at eight minutes left in the
game and Pittsburgh never got it.
Speaker 6 (53:31):
Back, didn't touch the ball.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
Didn't touch the ball, right, And how many of those
drives did you have last year that we all came
into this year, And I know, especially me, all came
into this year saying that's our bread and butter. When
we need a drive, Jalen Hurts leeds is on a
drive and how and we went through the whole season
so far wanting those drives, needing those drives. I'm hoping
(53:56):
we get a few on Monday because we need a
few on Monday. We need a few to give our
defense a break. We need a few just to get
our offense rolling in a rhythm, like we've all said.
And we need those drives and they need to convert
to points whatever they are, seven three, eight, right, whatever
(54:17):
it turns out to be. We need those drives.
Speaker 6 (54:21):
Yeah, just like imposing your will. Drives where you I
don't know if we've had one this year. I can't remember.
Like a bullet driver. You just took twelve minutes off
the clock and just bowled through people. It seems like that.
I feel like we've had those drives against us where
the defense is held up somehow hets a game. Yeah,
(54:47):
and you giving yourselves the ability to do one of
those drives or god forbid, multiple of them. What's that, dude?
Helps your defense sit down for a little bit instead
of you going three and out. Oh guess what, I
just sit down for two minutes. Funt team, you're out there, let's.
Speaker 3 (55:02):
Go like yeah, good old Chip days.
Speaker 6 (55:05):
Yeah, you know how you know? Demoralizing that must be,
especially when those guys weren't on the field at all
last year, Like, oh my god, I'm out here sixty
minutes a game. It seems like almost yeah, because I
I think Chicago ran like double the amount of plays
that we did last week, and I know they won
(55:25):
the possession battle, uh seventy thirty I think sixty five
thirty five or something like that. It's really really hard
for your defense to look good if your offense isn't
helping right now. Obviously, our defense has bailed us out
plenty of times this year. How about the offense goes
out and just hey, guys, we got tonight. You can
(55:46):
go hang out over there, right, because the charge is beatable.
They got smoked by the Jags a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
They're definitely beatable. Like, there's no question they're beatable.
Speaker 6 (55:58):
It's I don't know. We need one of those. Just again,
it's not even a get right game. You need a
statement game, like all right, hey, we're the defendive Super
Bowl champs. You have to come beat us, like we're
done letting this ship out, So you need to do
this weekend Monday.
Speaker 3 (56:14):
Because more importantly added all this, I need to be
able to use them next week against the Raiders in
your Survivor pool. I'm hanging on and I need a win.
Could come home so I can feel good about him.
Speaker 6 (56:28):
Absolutely for sure.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
If I can't use them there, I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
I'm gonna use.
Speaker 6 (56:35):
Yeah, I'm gonna need Aja in the Fantasy playoffs, so
I need that guy tip top shape.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
Yeah, they're gonna play better.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
They're gonna play better.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
They're gonna figure some things out, and the schedule sort
of allows. I mean the Chargers. The Charger are not
good in pass protection. Reason their quarterbacks got a broken
hand so and the number speed for it. So it's
a real opportunity to get back though, sort of what
we were doing in Chicago and versus Detroit and get
(57:11):
after the damn quarterback Bay Green Bay, Chicago.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
Yeah, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Go, but I just wanted to make sure.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
To say please please fix fix away. Yeah. So Green
Bay and Detroit the way we played against those two
teams defensively because we got after the quarterback and we
just got to get back to make them feel uncomfortable.
We're being able to get into those downs to do
it too right, and that starts with we're being able
(57:44):
to stop the run, so they come do it. Defensive
player of the game, jeez, give.
Speaker 1 (57:53):
Me cure with a pick.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Get you up, Give me here with a pick.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Picks six, give me big six from q.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
Uh go ahead? Uhh, I love that pick. Give me
uh give me to Kobe, Give me to Kobe. I
think he got a little exposed last week. He probably
feels like he got a little run over. Give me
the Kobe here.
Speaker 7 (58:22):
Well, it feels like it because he and the entire defense.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
Did get run over.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (58:28):
When you give up two eighty on the ground, you
got ran the fuck over.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Yes, yes, they did.
Speaker 7 (58:36):
Tire marks on the back.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
Yeah, you don't have to go all there. Oh no,
just say you're right though.
Speaker 5 (58:45):
So so, now it's time to put some tire marks
on some Charger jerseys. Run them the fuck over. Give
my offensive player of the game. We're defense, all right,
go ahead, give me yeah, give me Cooper.
Speaker 7 (59:07):
Cooper did well, forced forced fumble.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
Take it sure, I asked him for a lot. Nope.
Speaker 5 (59:23):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (59:24):
I need Nolan Smith to have a good week this week.
Need him to show off. He hasn't been around since
like Week two, whenever he got hurt. I haven't seen
that guy, so I need him to I need a
second half of Nolan Smith this week. We talked about
how their offensive line hasn't been very good. So give
(59:48):
me Nolan Smith, please, dude, give me something. I haven't
seen anything out of you. Like Jalen Phillips, I think
is more more sacks than you since he's been here.
Give me something this week then I need it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Nick, give me offensively. Let me go with let me
go with Davonte in this game, I say DeVante has
a buck a buck buck twenty plas.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
You still feel like a Davonte game though too.
Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
I still feel like a game from DeVante.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Because he was so close last game, right, Jalen missed
him on that one. It's a call.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Yeah, there's stuff out there, you know what I.
Speaker 7 (01:00:39):
Mean, there is absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
It's just us. It's just us connected on stuff. It's
because I don't even want to say that was a
bad read, because that wasn't. Even though Dallas was wide open.
Both were touchdowns. So it's not like you made the
wrong read. You just didn't. You didn't him instruct in
his back pocket.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
Can you look at you look at all those games too,
or all that play you look from all the angles.
I mean, obviously it was the blitz and he was
only focused on that side, right, So he wasn't even
to Dallas's point. He wasn't even looking there. And he
had the time. He just didn't think he had the
time right that. You know, the offensive line did play up.
But yes, I mean that's such a huge ball and
(01:01:21):
uh so I'll go I'll go to the guy that
threw the ball. I'll go jailing, I'll go a quarterback.
I'll put it on his shoulders.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Oh we've been waiting for that, So.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
I think we see. I think we see a number
one game a little bit of everything, right, thirty yards rushing,
one hundred and seventy yards passing four total tds. Right, However,
it looks like, you know, so that's where I'm going.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
How many ross yards?
Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
Well, I can't go fur tds. I only got twenty
seven points. We're gonna miss a two point conversion like thirty,
Like thirty, I'm not gonna go crazy like thirty roush
yards easy, get that?
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Like, I just feel like he needs a game of
like forty five fifty. Yeah, he needs a game to
show like he can beat you with his legs. And
I know that sounds like so basic time, like oh like, oh,
it's it's common sense when you're talking about game planning
for teams. Right, if you can, if you can, seriously,
(01:02:23):
if you can go rush for seventy five yards in
a game, eighty yards in a game and sure that
you can go beat somebody with your legs again like
you did earlier on in his career and he still
can obviously, then then that changes how everybody game plans
for you. And that opens up so much stuff, not
only in this specific game, but it would open up
big plays moving forward. That's what big plays were, So
(01:02:45):
more prep we're much more prevalent. But it's also not
just that. Right, We've talked about everything that's led up
and then you guys, you know, finish, finish players if
you have them, but you know, it's everything that's let up.
Is it starts the penalties and then everything else follows.
Shoot with that when you talk about we talk about
(01:03:05):
getting some damn rhythm.
Speaker 5 (01:03:07):
Bull Yeah, I think at this point I'm going out
on a limb here.
Speaker 7 (01:03:11):
But give me Saquon Barkley. I mean, god, damnit, he.
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Ran You're hanging from the lid.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Yeah, I mean he.
Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
Ran for two fifty five in that fucking stadium last
year against the Rams.
Speaker 7 (01:03:22):
Well, obviously I don't see him doing that this week, But.
Speaker 5 (01:03:27):
Fuck man, give me one hundred five yards on the ground,
give me one hundred and five and a touchdown, and
let's start the offensive line.
Speaker 7 (01:03:36):
Let's start imposing our fucking will again. So that that's
my hope.
Speaker 6 (01:03:45):
Yeah, everybody, Yeah, everybody's gotta be able to do it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
Probably more of a hope than a realistic expectation at
this point.
Speaker 7 (01:03:55):
Yeah, for sure, we gotta gotta have hope.
Speaker 6 (01:04:00):
Yeah, Jordan Mylatta, Jordan my Last specifically. The offensive line
is a whole, but him specifically, I think he's probably
had the worst year out of anybody that we expected
to have, you know, a really good year. Obviously, Landon's
been hurt Steen, we knew what he is. Jurgens's battlin injuries,
(01:04:20):
Lane's hurt. So he's the only guy that's been playing
pretty much the whole time. And when this team has
had success running the football, it's generally been to the
left hand side. So I'm going to need him to
go out there and impose his will. It's on Monday,
and you know I couldn't even tell you who their
leading pass rusher is, right, So go go show why
(01:04:42):
you're a big dog. I don't want to Khalil Mack yet.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Yes, right, yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
Maybe? Like how old is he at this point? Like
there's nobody out there that's gonna be able to bully
you on that team, So go be a bully. I
haven't seen you been doing that, right? I love I
love the video the Eagles put out after wins where
it's just like himked up and he's just talking shit.
Give me one of those games man, give me one
of those games where he's just making holes. Saquon breaks
(01:05:10):
a long run or two, maybe one for Jalen. Right,
go be the sixth eight dude that we got from Australia.
Go bet him all right, don't be this pussy cat
we've been seeing the last few weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Yeah, please, I'm better throw in a caveat too, Not
a caveat, but like a one B. I'd like to
see something from Britain Covey in the return game. Can
you can you get us some like good field position
every once in a while, you know, we haven't. I
saw so like the last time I think we had
a punt return was two thousand and twenty Jalen Rager.
(01:05:50):
And then the last time the last time we had
a kick return might have been Josh huff in eighteen,
So we haven't again. That's that's from Twitter. I didn't
verify it, but it all sounded right because I couldn't
think of the last one in my head either, right,
So I would like I don't mean to return, but
I would like some some field field uh field position
(01:06:11):
switch with the runt with the return game?
Speaker 6 (01:06:13):
Please, that'd be nice fields like we're always getting the
ball at the thirty real.
Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
Mack four and a half sacks as their leader.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
I was ready, Yeah, lopo, uh the best guy.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Oh I missed him? Yeah yeah ten ten sacks. I
scrolled right through him.
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Yeah, you're right, yeah, eight he had eight and a
half last year. He's going up like every year, obviously
thirty years a breakout.
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
They're actually top five in the defensive yards or yards
yards per game. They're actually top five in the league.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
Were giving it up or or.
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
Not giving up?
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
No chargers, Yeah, they.
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Are number three. They only give up two hundred and
seventy five yards game.
Speaker 6 (01:07:04):
Well, coach team yeah yep.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Who protects the football sunday yep? And who gets pressure?
Speaker 6 (01:07:23):
There's two solid football teams and they're both gonna be
in the playoffs. They both won playoff games last year, right, Like,
you have to go out there and beat them to
give it to you, go out there and beat them
in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
And for our sake, we don't know they are we
are last year. But listen, we just gotta go be
gonna go be physical. Man. Remember what got us to
the point we were last year. We were tough, we
were physical, We weren't team to fuck with in terms
of that, and we would impose it. We impose it
(01:07:55):
all the time. And it's time for us to start
seeing that more or we haven't seen at all. So
I would like to see it in some glimpses that
can still be done, and I think it's there. I do.
They can't again until about last week. Offense two penalties
No One and two like you need like you need
(01:08:16):
under under two, like you need to have a clean game,
You need to be a have a focused game. Got
to be able to do those little things right if
you want to be successful for sure, Right, and when
you're struggling and you're worse than the leg on on
third down conversions or or three and outs right worstenally
in three and outs, you can't buy yourself and you
(01:08:37):
ask more than that. So when you're lasting that, you
can't go backwards in the run game in terms of
penalties and taking sacks wherever that may be, but you gotta.
Then it comes down to, Okay, well, what's always been
the difference maker, what's always been the separator when everything
else broke down for us?
Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
What's what's worked?
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
Well, it's always when you have a quarterback that can
run and move around and make plays on his own.
That's what you need. It was always Jalen Hurts, the playmaker, right,
and it last quarterback. It was always playmaker first, the playmaker.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Extended extended drives.
Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Yeah, we need a playmaker.
Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
We need to be a playmaker again, go be you.
Speaker 7 (01:09:20):
Picking up a key third and six when nothing's there?
Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Yep, absolutely so, you know, I mean, listen, that's real.
We consider here and just keep going over the same
things when it comes it when it comes to the
Eagles of this, I mean, and then we're just bagging
our head against the wall. So it's a wait and
see man, And we'll talk about it again next week
and it'll be fresh on Monday night. Game we're on
(01:09:46):
Wednesday night, so I'll look forward to talking to everybody
about it. But let's segue a little sixers. When we
talk about you know, ups and downs, they fit right
into that right early in the area only diferences. They
don't have it. They don't have it. They didn't win
championship last year, right, they're not even close to that.
(01:10:08):
But they're pretty much playing like almost like five hundred
since it's like not since the start, but like over
the last week or two, you know, but not not
good enough. They just need to continue to try to
get healthy right and they're and they're going in that direction.
I mean, you know, PG back, Drummonds back, you know,
(01:10:29):
you start getting that back drumming which is out for
a game, but you're starting to get more guys back,
like McCain's been back for a minute now. You know,
BJ's was back from his whole week week out. Now
it's just about getting Kelly and Watford back. And to
be honest with you, for the first time ever, it's
(01:10:50):
not even about embiid Man, like, it's not even about him.
Like I think drumming, I can't what I'm saying is,
but I think one Drummond brings you more because he
absolutely boards. Say whatever you want about him, he just
flat out rebounds. And having that lengthen there that that's
doing that. It's so important and we don't have it
(01:11:10):
right now with Joel playing because he's not he's not
getting any left, which we were hoping would slowly common.
It's still may but now it's you know, it's the
other knee sore nets and it's just it's one thing
after another right, and at some point now they're going
to continue to play him when he can play. But
(01:11:30):
you know, we look to be you know, I was
at the game and he played, and you know, when
he was in it, it was good at the beginning,
everything was good early on. It was when the game
later on the game, you know, we couldn't. We just couldn't.
We couldn't do anything, we couldn't rebound. It just looked
like we were lost completely. And that's happens too often
(01:11:53):
with him and that for some reason, and when you
lose it loses his athleticism. I mean, now you're losing
the biggest part of his game. I mean you can
still score, you can still do those things, but he's
not as dominant as he was. And I think they're
just rushing them to play for the fans. And I
don't think you need to, Like I think, if this
whole roster was just all healthy, you don't even need
(01:12:15):
to play them, honestly, Like, let him get right, man,
whatever that means. Whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
We started to hear, right, we started to hear without him,
and we were all playing really good together.
Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
Yeah, and that was without McCain, right, and that Yeah,
now you got those two guys back, and it's like, dude,
you're deep enough. You just need to get Watford and
Roally Kelly and Watford back. And you have the length
on the perimeter, you have some of the things you need.
You have the size with Drummond, Bonut, Barlow, right, you have, Yeah, Parker,
(01:12:46):
you have some of the bigger guys you can you know,
use for fouls, et cetera.
Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
So all the punts you made there are we maybe
just maybe we're better off trying like hell to find
a trade partner for Joe L M B.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Yeah, I mean, I think we are better off at
this point where we're at. And that's hard for me
whether we will or we I mean, listen.
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
Guys, listen, listen.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
This is extremely hard for me to say because I've
been the biggest advocate for Joell and B. But we're
we're you know, we're at that point. We're at that
point for that conversation for sure. And I think any
any good organization would be any bad organization wouldn't be
open to having a conversation. Now. I still need I
(01:13:35):
still need things, you know what I mean, And obviously.
Speaker 1 (01:13:38):
Matching money and all those things. You're going to get that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
But I would love to get things off my books
to be able to to be able to.
Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Sign the guys on this roster.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
I want to be able to extend et cetera and
build this thing around MAXI build this thing around VJ,
build this thing around McCain. Pg's your veteran and and
now you feel a lot better about this roster. But
now you're able to sign Grimes, so you're able to
do some things, and you're able to then sign other guys.
(01:14:09):
You don't have to go Max and everything out. You
just go get get better, get deeper, and then acquire
picks back too, right obviously you know because in the
deal where I'm where, I'm just getting back uh stuff,
I'm going to shed earlier than not big deal. Then
I need you know, I want you know, I want
(01:14:31):
to first minimum, I mean minimum, I want too unprotected.
Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
To be honest, I think you'll find a bad GM somewhere,
be dumb enough to make that deal. You just need
to find one dumb ass, that's all. You find one
dumb ass that you can make a deal.
Speaker 6 (01:14:53):
Should have called up Dallas last year.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
Yeah, I almost to that point. I almost wonder if
if it's easier to trade him in the off season
when you don't necessarily have to match dollar for dollar
or you know what I mean, like where it's a
lot easier to make that type of move.
Speaker 6 (01:15:08):
It is.
Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
But you even hear Joel kind of not talking about trade,
but just talking about the shift in the in the
momentum of the team, right, that it's Maxi's team, that
he feels bad for Maxi, right, that we're kind of
wasting some of these really good games by not being
able to provide a win with it. Right, So you
even hear the shift in Joel.
Speaker 7 (01:15:28):
Right.
Speaker 5 (01:15:29):
I mean, let's face said, we've already wasted Joel's prime years.
The last thing you want to do is also waste Maxis.
Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
And now we should absolutely start drumming the trade on
th I mean, find somebody that's dumb enough, like we're
talking about not even dumb enough Tom finds something that's
actpate enough to sell tickets when when he is healthy,
or be able to get one over on their fan base,
like in which if we have too many guards, I
would say call Memphis because they got a the scronol player.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Yeah, right, And I.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
Think the team coming in you can work to deal
with somehow in Gold State.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
I don't know how. I don't know how you would
do it, but I think they would, they would take them.
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
Well.
Speaker 5 (01:16:10):
Yeah, I mean, I know Joel is obviously a competitor, YadA, YadA, YadA,
but you would think at some point he would be
resigned to the fact that, hey, on a contending team,
I'm probably no more than a role player these days.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
I mean, yeah, I mean, I don't know if he's
there yet. Just like you said, a competitor in him,
right right, he always wants to sit there and think.
I mean, because even though he still is almost a
point per minute guy, right right, he just can't do
anything else, right. He can't give you that athleticism on
the defensive end. He can't give you that athleticism on
(01:16:50):
the boards like he used to. He's just you know,
a pick and pop twenty a night game in twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
But this is what Sean's saying, is you, guys, is
that you know? Does that matter to you?
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
What do you think about?
Speaker 6 (01:17:04):
I mean that stuff we did talk about for a
long time. I didn't I didn't care about the NBA
until Christmas. So I mean it's that's because that's usually
the time that like, oh the Eagles are done. It's
like Christmas all righty times switched over the you know
to the six years now, but because that's there, I know,
(01:17:24):
opening nights in like October, which we haven't won back
to back game since October, by the way, we went
to the time oneth to November that went back to
back games, went and checked that. But like it's it's
the same type of wheel. We're like Christmas days, we're like, oh, hey,
the NBA is like it's here now. It's not really
fighting football anymore, or football season's almost over all, right,
hey guys, it's the NBA, right because for a while,
(01:17:48):
like I literally just I put ESPN on at my
when we were hosting Christmas and it was just NBA
all day, right, that's just what it was on because
you didn't have bowl games really and the NFL will
started like two years ago, so it just wasn't on.
So that was like the proverbial hey, look the NBA
is back, all right, cool time to watch it now.
(01:18:10):
So yeah, I think that realistically, you know, if you
even if you're at five hundred right at Christmas and
you're getting healthier.
Speaker 7 (01:18:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:18:21):
Absolutely, you can segue that into like, actually, hey, look
we have eyes on us. Now, let's play a little
bit better. Right, because you had twenty five thirty games
to warm up to start the season, maybe you get
a Joelle into a better like injury situation. Pg's back
and got his legs on the bathroom underneath them. Jared
(01:18:45):
McCain's looking better. Right, So these guys all jelling for
a month, right, if you give them, like if everybody's
healthy this month, give them what ten twelve games before
it gets to Christmas, Like they're not playing on Christmas
this year. But that's and you can be like, all right, hey,
this team's got something right now. It's just been it's
been super inconsistent.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
Eight games to Christmas, eight games Christmas, all right. So
there you go, and it pretty pretty decent stretch. I mean,
Golden State Milwaukee. I saw a video that Jannis got hurt.
Is that was that tonight or was that the other day?
The other day?
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
He's some for trade too, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:27):
I just saw that. But you got Golden State at
Milwaukee back to back, so you got uh no, no
tomorrow and Friday or back to back Golden State Milwaukee
home home Lakers on Sunday. Then you got a whole
week off Pistons on Friday. Then you go at Hawks
at New York home, Dallas home Brooklyn, and that's Tuesday
(01:19:50):
to twenty third, so that's right before Christmas. Then they
played Friday at Chicago, so eight games before Christmas. So
that was that was tonight. I guess he asked for
a asked for a trader earlier today and then.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
Got hurt, got hurt, He got hurt, pulled my hammie.
Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Well it was a contact he was he was jumping
around aches.
Speaker 6 (01:20:22):
Yeah, was it like actually an achilles or was he just.
Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
I couldn't. I didn't hear it. I wasn't paying attention.
I didn't I didn't have the volume on. But uh,
it didn't seem like it was good. But that's pretty
funny that it happened. That happened on a day he
asked for.
Speaker 6 (01:20:48):
Yeah, he's like, oh, I'm not so sure. What did
he do? Look like he looks like he slipped or
something weird came.
Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
Out from underneath the basket and then yeah, just went down.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
Cap stream, okay, saying he went down on purpose.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
There's everybody on Twitter saying the same thing, like faking
an injury.
Speaker 6 (01:21:18):
Yeah, I once out and man, did he just.
Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Signed a big deal with with Milwaukee too?
Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
I think so like last year, within the last two years.
Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
But in the last year, like this is did why sign?
Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Why sign the deal if you're not gonna if you're
not gonna stay there?
Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
Well?
Speaker 7 (01:21:38):
What he just finally figure out that it's shitty.
Speaker 5 (01:21:41):
Winters in fucking Milwaukee? Uh, who the fuck wants to
live in Milwaukee?
Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
Well, they actually give me.
Speaker 6 (01:21:56):
Y yeah extension? This is yeah, this is the first
of a three year he's got this year at fifty four,
next year is at fifty eight to five, and then
a player option for the year after that at sixty
two seven?
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Oh is that it?
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
So he's good?
Speaker 6 (01:22:21):
Yeah? So Jesus Christ, he's got he's got one plus
one h Yeah, sixty two points point seven won that
for this year?
Speaker 5 (01:22:32):
So can he take sixty two and just give me
the seven hundred thousand?
Speaker 6 (01:22:38):
I'd be cool with that. Yeah, right, I'll even take
seventy yeah. Yeah. Now again, this this team's got some
talent on it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
Max.
Speaker 6 (01:22:51):
He's showing that he's really turned into a superstar, like
he's going to be an All Star at the very least, right,
So yeah, I mean you were talking about him as
one of the best players in the NBA this year,
which is you know, two years ago, if you would
have told me MAXI is the best player on this
team and like potentially like an All Pro album, have
(01:23:11):
told you were crazy, like what happened to Joelle. But no,
it's very very good to see Quinton Grimes has been
pretty good. Jerry McCain's looked better. So your young guards
have been playing pretty well. I just need your veteran
you need your veteran forwards to be healthy and help
them out a little bit.
Speaker 7 (01:23:29):
I mean, more or less. It's a guard oriented league,
you know.
Speaker 6 (01:23:34):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Absolutely, yeah, it always and it always has been.
Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 6 (01:23:39):
It was funny watching the whole process where like every
every guards running around the league and steps winning championships
and we went center center power forward three straight years.
Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:23:53):
Well it was like, you know, the game was always
won inside out from the creation of the game, and
then so happened that there was a team that won
the other way in a big way, and so everybody
started shooting deeper. Everybody started shooting more threes, and it
(01:24:14):
became a copycat league, and it shifted back towards not back,
and just shifted towards the turtle guard oriented league where
big guys need to be able to shoot it and rebound,
you know, and not play with their back to the basket.
Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
So that's where it's really it's really changed.
Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
Maybe one day it might you know, nothing's go could
shift back one day.
Speaker 5 (01:24:39):
You never know, with the way big men get hurt,
especially it seems like over the last fifteen to twenty years,
I I'd be surprised if it shifted the other way
back to you know, when like we're back and ewing
and centers dominated the league.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
Yeah, I think you might get like a guy like,
you know, you're gonna get big guys who dominate, but
not necessarily back to the basket big guys.
Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
But that's okay too, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
Yeah, but listen, they're they're a team that is now
officially building around guards and wings, and and you continue
to build around Max.
Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
He's turning to a superstar.
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
So now we needed to get that consistent superstar whistle too.
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
Yeah, for sure need the whistle and need to make
your free throws because that would be a win games over.
You just make one of them, I feel like gets over.
So you can't, you know, you can't miss both. And
and here we are, so but still turn himself into
(01:25:57):
you know what we expect them turns of into be
JA has been good. Q's been good. Like I said,
your Kelli back, Kelly was averaging before he got hurt. Yeah,
Nmber seventeen in twelve games.
Speaker 1 (01:26:13):
But he played well, and.
Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
You know, so.
Speaker 7 (01:26:20):
To be competitive in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Well we gotta get there first, right, so play more consistent.
But yeah, that's all I got on the sixers really
at this point. And yeah, Penn State fumbles coaching search
as the way.
Speaker 6 (01:26:41):
They're they're fighting with the Mormon Church to get a
guy they want to coach their team.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
Not even that Crumbell cookie. Yeah, James Franklin, it did
the greatest troll job of all time. Uh, James Franklin
always does UH signing day or letter of intent day
parties and stuff like that. He had crumble cookies out
for dessert at at the at the uh the thing.
(01:27:10):
And then there was somebody, uh somebody from Provo sent
Pat Craft in order of crumble cookies. Uh, last night
or tonight? Which is which is phenomenal?
Speaker 6 (01:27:22):
That's awesome. Yeah, it's a who wasn't even looking at
at this point.
Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
It's a.
Speaker 3 (01:27:30):
Right now, it's it's between Brian right now, it's between
Brian Dable and Terry Smith. And two weeks ago I
was anti Terry Smith. I'm still anti Terry Smith. But
that's what the old that's what the donors want. That's
what the Old Guard wants. That's what the donors want.
They want Terry Smith. Well, players are going to be around. Yeah,
(01:27:56):
all those players are either graduating or into portal already.
You know what I mean. Either way, either if you
go Dable or Terry Smith, you're back into coaching search
in two to three years. Yes, right, because if Dabele
shows any type of resurgence, he's going to be back
looking in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
Maybe some guys don't go, some guys won't go, some guys.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
They have two They had two recruits today. They are
below they are like one hundred and what was Luke
said it to me? They're below McNee state in the
recruiting rankings. They're legit two recruits today. Yeah. Now there's yeah,
it's uh.
Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
No, like whoever your coach is going to be like,
you can go in the transfer portal and get so
many guys.
Speaker 3 (01:28:43):
They're one hundred and fiftieth according to two four to
seven Sports, so bad West Georgia McNee State and San
Diego State or South I'm sorry, South Dakota State are
ranked above them as of whenever that.
Speaker 6 (01:28:56):
Thing sdsc O is a FCS.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
Yeah, well they still have a better recruiting class than
Penn's thing. This to set them back right, like and
just like we were talking about Jail, it hurts playing
quarterback right now, he's having a bad year, but he's
not a big quarterback, right. Firing James Franklin runs the
right move at Craft screwed up the search, right because
(01:29:24):
now there's a lot of people coming out saying, oh
my god, was James Franklin really that bad? Well, yeah,
when you can't win the big game for three, four,
five years, it starts to wear on you. And then
even even this year, he asked him two or three
times in press conferences do you want to still be
the head coach? And he didn't have an answer. So like,
(01:29:48):
firing James Franklin was the right move. You absolutely screwed
up the search and where I think it got absolutely
exposed with today Chesney from JMU, I think came out
and said that he wanted a job and they just
never offered it to him. And then you let Brian
Hartline go down the usfuh South Florida. I was always
(01:30:10):
Brian Hartline was at the top of my list for
the entire time. But I understand the optics. I understand
the optics that you have to go out after the
big guys, right. I understand that you have to go
throw money at everybody and get everybody a raise for
for the for them to stay. But Brian Hartline to me,
when you let him walk today and and you let
(01:30:30):
him sign somewhere or you know, go somewhere else, I
think even Chesney too. I wasn't just high on Chesney.
He was still there, but at this point you should
have been on everybody. And now we're you're gonna you're
gonna end up with with Terry Smith and and and
that's where they they misread they misread this in today's
(01:30:50):
n I L error. Penn State's just a normal job, right,
Penn State is no better than than Indiana. Penn State's
no better than Missouri right now, no better than Nebraska,
no better than anywhere else that you were trying to
poach guys from, right, oh, miss right before Lane Kiffin
got l s U. You're not a top five job.
Speaker 5 (01:31:11):
You're NOTAMA, You're not about a school like the University
of South Florida.
Speaker 3 (01:31:20):
Yeah, you're You're You're not Alabama, you're not Georgia, you're
not Ohio State. You're not LSU, and you're not notre name.
You're not a top five program. Everybody's got money now,
everybody's got money in the nil boy, I.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Gotta I gotta run because guys woke up.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
But I'll see you guys later later.
Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
So I think they missed those two big things. And
then not necessarily Paccrast's fault. You can't expect all those
top jobs to come available, right, You can't accept you
can't expect Florida to come available. You can't expect uh oh,
I mean, I'm sorry. You probably expected Florida and Florida State.
You didn't expect LSU. You didn't expect some of these
(01:32:03):
other ones to become available. In that then shifted the focus, right, Uh,
that's why you that's why you fire him so early
as you try and get ahead of it, and then
you didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:32:15):
Yeah, I mean, speaking of LSU, what do you think
about the whole of it.
Speaker 7 (01:32:20):
Yeah, it's a great hire for him. But I just but.
Speaker 5 (01:32:25):
I'm not I think they need to change.
Speaker 7 (01:32:29):
I mean, some of it's in an IL problems. I
mean there. I just have an issue with how.
Speaker 9 (01:32:35):
When you a coach gets a coach gets canned, of course,
an opening is created, and then all of a sudden
you have old miss all right, who's right in the
middle of a damn playoff run, Okay, And I just
I just wish the timelines could be well that's.
Speaker 6 (01:32:59):
Yeah, back, that's that's the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (01:33:01):
I just think it's ridiculous that all these transactions are
allowed to happen before the postseason even starts, before it
even all unfolds. I think I think all of that
should be put on hold until the end of the year. Like,
if you want to fire your coach mid season, all right, whatever,
you know your team's two and six are well, you know, fine,
(01:33:23):
that's their business.
Speaker 7 (01:33:24):
But I don't think they should be another I.
Speaker 5 (01:33:28):
Don't think you should be allowed to poach another coach
from another school until the season is done and a
national champion is crowned, because well.
Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
That's that's the way normal things work in the NCAA.
Is normal. Their schedule doesn't allow it. The calendar doesn't
allow it, right, And until that's changed, it's always going
to be this.
Speaker 7 (01:33:52):
Yeah no, I just think it's become a complete joke.
But go ahead.
Speaker 6 (01:33:57):
Yeah no, I mean it's I saw somebody talking about
this on like a TikTok or YouTube video. I forget, well,
like there, the schedule is awful, Like the portal's open now, right,
or it's going to be open like really really soon
if it's not already. And I remember last year, their
(01:34:19):
first year in the playoff, like they're like, oh yeah,
these guys are entering the portal, Like what do you
mean writing the portal? They're playing games right now, right,
Like there was somebody that was talking in this video
about look if everybody played week zero and then everybody
played every single week, you had like one bye week
in there, and you have conference championships this past weekend,
and you have your first round of the playoff, second
(01:34:41):
round of the playoff, third round the playoff you'd have
everything done on January first, right, which is what college
football used to be, right, Like, it's just hey, January
first Year's day.
Speaker 7 (01:34:51):
If anything, they're going to expand the damn playoffs.
Speaker 6 (01:34:57):
You like, you can do that, right, But then everybody
play on Week zero that you think is going to
potentially make the playoffs, right, So have it be done
earlier so then you can do you know what the
NFL does with, right, and the class.
Speaker 5 (01:35:11):
With the kids are already back on campus by mid
August anyway.
Speaker 6 (01:35:16):
Well, no, so what you see right now is like
kids going to the portal, but the portal doesn't allow
you to Like the timing there is weird because you're
trying to transfer as the as the semesters like already starting, right,
they already a couple weeks into classes at that point, right,
(01:35:38):
at least like the way that it's set up now.
So it's a difficult situation. It's obviously more difficult when
there's like coaches or of big programs want to go
out and find their guy as soon as possible, right,
but you're not allowed to do that in the NFL
less the guy's not coaching something, right, so allow it
to be Hey, January or January first, next championship or
(01:36:00):
whenever it is January thirteenth, or whatever day could potentially be. Hey, look,
season ends, great, Now you can talk to other people.
Then you have a two week window where you can
go out and hire coaches, right, and then the next
day transfer portal opens.
Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
And honestly, I think that's the way it should be done.
Those between coaching searches and hirings and all this other
nonsense and the transfer portal, all of that should occur
during the off season for the respective NCAA sport, right,
And I just think it's complete bullshit otherwise. And I mean,
(01:36:41):
imagine if you're a player at Old Mess, I mean,
how the hell would you feel right now?
Speaker 7 (01:36:48):
You know you're getting paid.
Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
I don't care about the players anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:36:52):
And I hear you most of them are, not every
last one of them, but most.
Speaker 3 (01:36:55):
No, they're all getting paid.
Speaker 7 (01:36:58):
Even the third string type getting paid. They're getting no.
Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
I mean, Ohio State's payrolls twenty million dollars, everyone's getting paid.
That's what recruiting is right now. Recruiting isn't how am
I going to get better? And recruiting is how much.
Speaker 7 (01:37:15):
You're gonna do as the biggest bag. Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
Yeah, that's why people entered the portal as often as
they do is because they're not getting the money or
the playing time.
Speaker 5 (01:37:24):
And I think that's where I mean, Well, while I
like the NIL, I think it's had some unintended ugly.
Speaker 6 (01:37:31):
Consequences shocking the NCAA didn't do something right.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
Yeah, it's not even or it's just pay for play
without any rules. It's free agency without any rules, like.
Speaker 7 (01:37:44):
And I think there should be more regulation put in.
And you know, if if there's a star quarterback for.
Speaker 5 (01:37:50):
Example, you know, take Drew Aller or whatever. You know,
I have no problem say he's your star player, he
gets the bus us money. But I just think it's
absolutely ridiculous for a kid that is supposedly going to school.
Obviously football is a big priority, but to get an
education and be prepared for life after football, all right,
(01:38:14):
Because it's not guaranteed you're going to the NFL, all right,
even if you go, I don't care if you go
to a five star program, you're not guaranteed a pro contract.
Speaker 7 (01:38:26):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:38:27):
Well, that's why they're getting paid now, so they don't
have to be guaranteed.
Speaker 7 (01:38:30):
And but.
Speaker 6 (01:38:33):
The wrong world.
Speaker 3 (01:38:34):
We're way past this.
Speaker 5 (01:38:36):
Why are we throwing fifteen million dollars at.
Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
You know, fortunately, you're living in the wrong world because
we're way past that. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:38:46):
The reason I hold you guys granted, but and I'm
okay with them getting paid, But man, the amount of
money that's going into this is beyond ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (01:38:57):
Go ahead, I'm saying, are But the reason you're you're
paying these guys this much is because how much to
bring it back to the university?
Speaker 7 (01:39:05):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:39:05):
Right? Like if how much did Marvin Harrison Junior or
could he have made going to Ohio State? Right? How
much money did he make? Go in there? They have
first round pick, right, Any any quarterbacks don't get taken.
Any guy that's going to be in the Heisman conversation,
any of these guys that's going to bring in Say
(01:39:26):
you have a media a normal sized stadium. Say it's not.
It's not even a ho State save a fifty thousand
seed stadium.
Speaker 7 (01:39:31):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:39:32):
Right, Say you're charging ten dollars a ticket, it's five
hundred thousand dollars a weekend. Yeah, right, Like you get
eight what sticks home games a year? Is right? You're
making three million dollars just strictly off of ticket revenue.
It doesn't have anything to do with revenue for selling
jerseys or anything like that type of stuff. Right, they're
(01:39:53):
making so much money handover fish.
Speaker 7 (01:39:55):
Yeah, I mean Michigan. Yeah, they're making millions and right,
millions of No.
Speaker 5 (01:40:00):
I fully understand that, and yes, these players should be compensated, But.
Speaker 7 (01:40:08):
I don't know. I just think it's nuts the amount.
Speaker 6 (01:40:10):
Of you know, yeah, it is, I think, but it's
not anything different than what was happening in the eighties
and nineties.
Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
Yeah, number on you.
Speaker 6 (01:40:24):
Yeah, got.
Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Got a car.
Speaker 6 (01:40:29):
The only difference is inflation. It's higher now because there's
more money.
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
That's it.
Speaker 6 (01:40:33):
Everything's insane, and it's like, all right, hey, he's there
because of this guy gave him a bunch of money.
He didn't know that. Oh that he's got there because
this guy gave a bunch of money back in the eighties.
You can assume it. We didn't know that now. You
just know.
Speaker 7 (01:40:47):
I'm laughing on the inside.
Speaker 5 (01:40:48):
When you're saying ten dollars ticket, I'm thinking, I bet
you have seen a beaver stadium even it's probably eighty
dollars or more.
Speaker 6 (01:40:56):
Oh yeah, No, for sure. Like even like the I'm
thinking like you're going to like ten if you're Temple
programming right now, I got ten dollars ticket, all right?
Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Here you go, like seton Temple. Ain't even that cheap?
Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:41:10):
Probably not if you if you're Ohio State trying, you
have one hundred thousand people in your stadium six six
times a season, and then more with the playoff, right,
probably once or twice more. So you're say you're getting
say you've got seven hundred thousand people coming in, stay
your charge of fifty bucks a ticket? Because that that's low.
(01:41:32):
How much money is that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
A lot of money?
Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
So much more money?
Speaker 6 (01:41:36):
Like that's what's five million dollars?
Speaker 7 (01:41:39):
Many?
Speaker 6 (01:41:40):
Yeah, minimum just on tickets. And then again that's the
bare minimum ticket price. Yep, So there's so much money.
Speaker 5 (01:41:50):
I get a college athletics is absolutely big business, and
for more or less, for our entire lifetimes, it has
been minus you know, it's just now that the players
are getting paid, you.
Speaker 6 (01:42:03):
Know, technically, right, technically, but yeah, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:42:11):
And don't get me wrong, I believe that, you know,
the student athletes should get a piece of the pie.
I mean, let's face it, they many student athletes were
extorted for many, many years by these media moguls that
carry these games, by the universities and you name it.
Speaker 6 (01:42:27):
But it should absolutely be a compensated for your image
like this.
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
But it's not right. That's that's that. I'm one hundred
percent with you all. Like that's my issue though. Just
call it pay to play, yeah, don't call it name
image like this because none of these guys are are
getting paid for their names. They're just getting paid to
play there, that's it, right, They're.
Speaker 6 (01:42:48):
Not they're not doing commercials every week for you know, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:42:53):
Like they're like it's sad, Like the female athletes, they're
getting paid for their name and their looks, but they're
actually doing stuff, you know what I mean, Like you
see commercials with Libby Dunn in there or the Cavender Twins,
you know what I mean, Like you see them on TV.
I don't see any of these these the guys on TV.
Speaker 5 (01:43:10):
Who's the girl from you Come Page?
Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Yeah yeah, yeah, but yeah it's wild. I wonder where
Penn State goes. The rumor now is if Brian Bables
stays or Pat Kraft might lose his job. Either way,
I think after all this you just can't go from there.
My dad seems to think that his ego got in
(01:43:37):
the way a couple of times. And then there's also
rumors that James Franklin's agent is causing it's causing a
whole lot of problems.
Speaker 6 (01:43:46):
Jimmy, I'm sure he's the agent for like all those guys.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
Which I think is which I think is a little
bit of a of an issue if you ask me,
you know, like I think you being the agent for
everybody is? Isn't? Isn't Kocher right is? Conflict of interest
was the word I was looking for that. It just
stooks my mind, like that's that shouldn't be. You shouldn't
(01:44:11):
be the agent for everybody. I understand those types of
agents generally have a couple of clients like that, because
you know, you might be the coach agent. But to
have every single one, it's just it's just so Penn
State though, that every single coach the way they went
after got to raise and got paid to stack, Like
(01:44:32):
it's just so is the best one Like losing Sataki,
I I was, I was kind of iffy on Sataki anyway,
just that didn't think the the culture fit right. I
just didn't know how you would fit culture. Great coach, right,
great coach. And obviously he can recruit out in Utah
and the and the Mormons, right, so that none of that.
(01:44:54):
It was just like, how is he going to fit
culturally over here on the East coast? You know, didn't
it just it just didn't didn't see the mix. But
at this point of the see, at this point of
the process, it was like, oh, well, what do we
got to lose at this point? Uh? But yeah, to
lose himTo crumble Cookie is just is everything that I
need to know about what's going wrong.
Speaker 6 (01:45:16):
Yeah, Penn State.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Their disaster and and this is sadly set them back two, three,
four years because you don't have a recruiting class. It's
easy to sit there and say, oh, well they got
the money, let's go to portal. Yeah, but that portal,
that portal will die up in a year or two.
I mean basically you don't have anybody coming beneath them, right,
(01:45:39):
Like the portal is like free agency. You know, you
go phil holes, you go pick pick players to pill holes.
You need that base though, you need the draft to
build up, you know, and I know that's foreign. You
know in today's nil world. But this is this is bad.
Speaker 7 (01:45:58):
I think I know the answer.
Speaker 5 (01:45:59):
But the long term, do you see Kurt Signetti staying
in Indiana?
Speaker 3 (01:46:05):
Well you he's staying at least for the next couple
of years.
Speaker 6 (01:46:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
He. To be honest with you, I'm not a huge
Signetti fan. I wasn't. I didn't really want him. I
understand why you got to go after and why you
gotta go attempt it, but I he wasn't number one
on my list. If you want me to be honest,
I had Brian Hartline number one on my list the
whole time. Like I might have if you would have
asked me to put a list down just so people
(01:46:31):
took it credibly, I probably would have listed Signetti higher
than him. I would have listed Sabin and Meyer just
because that's what you have to do. But my target
at the end of the day was was Brian Hartline.
But when you're Penn State. But when you're Penn State,
you gotta go throw these these names out there. I go
(01:46:51):
through these optics, but I think Brian Hartline is set
to be like the next Dan Lanning type of person, right,
the next even Lane Kiffin. When you look at that
like that type of assistant that is right there, ready
to take that next step as a head coach. And
he's call plays. He's been an offensive coordinator. We know
what he can do coaching up wide receivers. I mean
(01:47:13):
he's only got seven or eight first rounders. I mean
that's still big deal, right, you know that's still big
deal with maybe the number one overall pick in the
next year's draft. Right. Uh, So that's why he was
my pick.
Speaker 5 (01:47:28):
Well, he's not gonna stay at USF forever, and I'm
sure another big job will be Yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
Now now he but now because he went there, Now,
he's just buying his time.
Speaker 6 (01:47:38):
Until yeah, he'll get Ohio.
Speaker 3 (01:47:43):
State ends their turns with Ryan Day, Ryan Data decides
to to end it right, and then he could come
back in as to the White Knight or the Silver Knight.
Speaker 5 (01:47:52):
You know he's a I'm sorry, he's an O s
U alum, isn't he?
Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
Yes? Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:47:59):
And well the.
Speaker 5 (01:48:01):
Reason I asked about Signetti, I think up at Michigan,
I don't think they hold on.
Speaker 7 (01:48:07):
To more too much longer.
Speaker 3 (01:48:10):
I don't I wouldst agree.
Speaker 5 (01:48:12):
I wouldn't be shocked if that job opened up, And
if Signetti ended up up there.
Speaker 3 (01:48:19):
Yeah, that's it. That's an interesting placement. I don't think
that fits, uh, but yeah, I I agree with your
premise of Michigan ain't ain't gonna be around or or
it's gonna be opening here in a couple of years. Yeah,
I don't. I don't think Sharon Moore has done himself
any favors now, not to his fault. Right, A lot
(01:48:41):
of this was the blowback from Harball, Right, That's always
what happens. The guy, the guy coming in second is
the guy that's gonna get the it's gonna get the
ship end of the stick. Yeah. Ah, but yeah, it'll, it'll, it'll.
It'll be interesting to see what happens, uh going forward.
And then just even with Penn State's.
Speaker 5 (01:49:08):
I take it you're not taking the road trip out
to Detroit for the fucking game above sports Bowl?
Speaker 7 (01:49:15):
The what the game above? Sports ball is probably took
the game they're gonna wind.
Speaker 3 (01:49:25):
Up And I thought they were getting the pinch ripe
against Pitt.
Speaker 7 (01:49:29):
That would that would be fun, that'd be nice.
Speaker 5 (01:49:32):
That would certainly better than going to Detroit the day
after Christmas against they CBS Sports currently projects them to
play Ohio University. God, yes, well that's the current projection,
but hopefully, hopefully they get a slightly better game than that.
Speaker 7 (01:49:54):
Not that we deserve it, but.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Well that's the funny thing when you when you look
at like, do you the playoffs real quick?
Speaker 1 (01:50:02):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
Pence State? Yeah, Penn State would be a favorite against
I think what they say Duke Tulane and James Madison.
Penn State would be a favorite.
Speaker 6 (01:50:19):
Yea. Yeah, all those teams will get destroyed.
Speaker 7 (01:50:25):
Yeah, I'm uh yeah, whether it's Tulane or North I'm hoping.
Speaker 3 (01:50:30):
I'm hoping they keep Notre Dame out.
Speaker 2 (01:50:32):
I wanted to.
Speaker 6 (01:50:34):
I am so pro screw Notre Dame.
Speaker 7 (01:50:40):
Texas finds their way in.
Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
I do.
Speaker 6 (01:50:44):
I'd rather see Texas the Notre Dame for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:50:46):
I do think Texas gets in because I think Texas.
Speaker 5 (01:50:49):
Yeah, three losses is a lot, but I'll tell you what,
they beat a great A and M team and uh.
Speaker 6 (01:50:56):
One of yours to the number one team in the
country on the world.
Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
Three losses a lot because you played one on opening
night right on opening day.
Speaker 5 (01:51:04):
Yeah, you played Ohio State competitively, and the only one
where they really looked bad was against Georgia, where they
lost by twenty five.
Speaker 6 (01:51:12):
No, it'll if Texas doesn't get in, it'll be like,
all right, you lost the third game because you went
and played the top ranked component on the road. And
it makes other SEC teams be like, I know what
we're gonna do that.
Speaker 7 (01:51:24):
Part of it already did it?
Speaker 6 (01:51:25):
Well, already did it?
Speaker 5 (01:51:27):
Part of shot for losing to Florida to a four
or what was it a four and eight Florida Gator team.
Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
Yeah, you're right, you can't lose that game. And just
like Miami can't lose to Louisville. But like Miami, Miami's
another team I think deserves to be in at least
over Notre Dame. Right, you would tell me that BYU
deserves to be in over Miami. I'll listen to you
on Miami.
Speaker 7 (01:51:49):
But Miami beat Notre Dame earlier in the year, Chris.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
They did Miami. My biggest thing with Notre Dame is
they never they don't beat anybody.
Speaker 6 (01:51:58):
They don't play anybody.
Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
And and they don't play anybody. Likes conference or just
wait till wait till the NCAA goes just the one
giant conference they break away from the Actually NCAA and
and and they just joined the one Giant Conference.
Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
The Power Force teams like, hey, look, yeah, just just
what's wrong with the North South, East West?
Speaker 7 (01:52:24):
Just four brackets if you will, And.
Speaker 3 (01:52:28):
It'll be something like that. I mean, they'll they'll uh,
they'll still keep together some of the rivalry games so
you still get to see them, you know, like Michigan Florida.
Michigan Ohio State will always play this or that, right,
but Florida, you know, And that's.
Speaker 5 (01:52:44):
Where I would like to see a little more regionalism
put back in college football. I mean, what the hell
are we doing having Oregon and Penn State in the
same conference.
Speaker 7 (01:52:57):
I mean, I get it, it's all about the Almighty.
Speaker 3 (01:53:00):
I don't have an issue with it for football for
every other sports, but for every other sport I have
an issue with it. Yeah, right, because the football travel
conditions are our top notch. But to be like the
women's volleyball team from Oregon going to Penn State, like
you're legit flying coach.
Speaker 7 (01:53:18):
Flights right Tuesday night in February or whatever.
Speaker 6 (01:53:23):
Yeah, that's that's imagine your imagine your U c l
A and you got to fly to Penn State for
UCLA gotta play Penn State for a three game set
in March. Yeah, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and it's twenty seven
(01:53:45):
degrees at the Happy Valley.
Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
And they got to still go to class, right because
their classes matter. Football and basketball classes don't matter, but
the other sports they do.
Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
Yeah, I think that's what it needs to do. Like football,
just football and maybe basketball just need to break away
all the other sports go back to your your normal conferences. Well,
just because that's what screwed the ACC up. SMU lost
a col in the ACC in an ACC game that
nobody was watching because it was on the West coast,
(01:54:19):
and you wake up and now Duke's in the nation
in the ACC title game.
Speaker 10 (01:54:24):
Well not only that, correct me if I'm wrong, even
if Dukes, So if they pull the upset and find
a way to beat Virginia, which I don't think is
going to happen, they are not guaranteed a playoff spot correct.
Speaker 3 (01:54:37):
Correct, even Virginia not guaranteed. But at least Virginia has
a better argument, right.
Speaker 6 (01:54:45):
Was it? It's the top four conference ranks, right, like
the top four conference championship rankings.
Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
And traditionally they have been one of them. But you're right.
Not this year, They're not.
Speaker 7 (01:54:56):
It's not a guarantee, right, So I mean, I mean
I would find it laughable.
Speaker 5 (01:55:03):
But you know, a team like either Tulane, North Texas
James Madison are gonna get in.
Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
Over you know, well, I just I watched the video.
It was Gruden. I know he's barstool and everything, but
Gruden actually had a great, great idea because there's teams
playing in the conference championship games, and so he's like,
all right, those those eight teams are six teams. Eight
teams are in the six teams and then you get
(01:55:31):
down to Virginia too. So he's like, we'll get to
that later, right, So those six teams are ready, He's like,
all right, well what are these other teams that aren't
playing those games? You just get a week off? No, no, no, no,
you play to be in the tournament. So then like
Oregon then plays James Madison. Right, all right, you picked
four or five neutral sites. Oregon, you played James Madison,
(01:55:51):
and they went down Ole Miss. Fine, Ole Miss, You're
gonna play X, right, and then you go down the
whole list and those four wins and then if two
wins the highest remainder. The remaining team that lost, but
it was the highest rank gets Duke spot, right, So
like Texas Oklahoma played for the spot to get in
(01:56:12):
Notre Dame in Miami played again for the spot to
get Like this is Gruden's idea, and I'm like this
is great because then you get played again, Like why
did the top teams are the only ones risking injury
and risking playing an extra game for no benefit.
Speaker 6 (01:56:24):
Well, so there's that, and then like you can assume
that those guys are the ones who are getting the
bye week, right, So I guess you kind of win
it there.
Speaker 7 (01:56:34):
George is probably right.
Speaker 6 (01:56:37):
I just think it's like it's it's a harder thing there, right,
Like they think the like the Big ten championship game
is Ohio State Indiana, so like they're both in the playoff,
right or the number one number two.
Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
It's the same thing with the SEC.
Speaker 6 (01:56:53):
Yeah, like they're both in the play well, and then
the Big twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
Yeah, so by Texas, Georgia, Alabama.
Speaker 6 (01:57:01):
Both guys'll just come down the seating.
Speaker 7 (01:57:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
And it's like and you're right, like maybe BAM is
not a slam dunk if they lose, but if you're
in the SEC championship game, shouldn't you be?
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:57:13):
Well yeah, like but if if like this year's at
such an but again, they created this problem.
Speaker 6 (01:57:19):
They created this problem, right right, and there's always gonna
be the like it's twelve teams right now? Yeah, all right, Like, oh,
these four teams really should have been in it against
what we're gonna expand again they should keep doing it
should be a field of thirty two and then sixty
four and you're just gonna start with a round robin
or not a round robin. At one point you'll just
have every other team in it. Like, hey, guys, the
(01:57:41):
entire regular season didn't matter. Go play seven more games.
Let's I don't know how feasible.
Speaker 5 (01:57:47):
That is, but yeah, what do you guys think about
the Ohio State IU game?
Speaker 7 (01:57:52):
I mean I think Ohio State blows about Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:57:55):
Yeah, I don't think it's closed roll Yeah. I don't
think in the end is very good.
Speaker 7 (01:58:00):
I mean, could be a four touchdown game.
Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
I don't think it's that bad.
Speaker 6 (01:58:07):
I mean, that's ill in control of the entire time.
It's never gonna be four touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (01:58:11):
It's egregious, but it's not shocking coming from you.
Speaker 6 (01:58:15):
No, it'll be like I mean thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
INDI end of plays players too.
Speaker 2 (01:58:24):
So.
Speaker 6 (01:58:28):
Thirty eight twenty four.
Speaker 3 (01:58:29):
But yeah, I can see that. Agree with your premise
that Ohio State should roll? Yeah, should roll? All right?
Got anything else?
Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
Good?
Speaker 7 (01:58:41):
Go birds, Go birds.
Speaker 6 (01:58:43):
Show me a complete average game this week and just
go in a.
Speaker 7 (01:58:48):
Fucking hope. Please please, I'd.
Speaker 6 (01:58:50):
Like to have a good show next week where I'm
not about the birds because they just pissed me off
every time.
Speaker 3 (01:58:56):
Yeah, I'll just take a win anyway you get it.
We'll go back to early in the year. Just give
me a win, win and survive. But thank you everybody
