Three guys jamming out in the studio.  Then the words began to fly.  Song lyrics!  But what fruit are they talking about?  Is it west or east coast?  A love song that couldn't come across with a pop music flair.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Collins! Music's lost history. The stories that made you move.
Your soundtrack on fire. Music's lost history.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Name the song before we There used to be a
time when MTV Radio, VH1, and YouTube put a lot
of importance on the physical act of storytelling. These days,
we've got AI, and all of that data didn't live it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
What songs do you sing? Music's lost.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
History.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Name the song before we do. Arrow Collins is back, back.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, we are back, back, back, back, back. Now, this
is one of those songs that has more of a
history than it might appear. It's a simple, breezy tune
about fruit. That's found in the southern regions or right
there in California. The song itself is described by critics
as being a California-style romance. The artist himself explains, well, yeah, kinda.

(01:20):
It's a tropical love story filled with relationships, attractions, and freedom.
Justin does admit it includes moments of experiences that he
and his wife did go through. It describes the comfort
and excitement of being in love while wanting that relationship
to last forever. Yet, there's another layer to it. The

(01:40):
teen idol claims it's deliberately playful as well as sensual.
The artist does mention... Georgia peaches, when in fact it
references California marijuana.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Back, back, we're coming back. Music's lost history. Name the
song before we do. Arrow Collins is coming back.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Coming up next, this featured piece of music really wasn't
supposed to happen. It wasn't planned for.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Music's lost history.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Thank you so much for coming back to Music's Lost History.
This featured piece of music was not planned for. It
was just something that Andrew Watts was kind of messing
around with in the year 2020. In the studio with
Justin and of all people, Shawn Mendes. Hanging out, the
three of them, you know, kind of just jamming out.

(02:50):
Justin was asked to play the drums, which then traveled
to the piano. Andrew Watts then threw in the bass guitar,
and then something happened. The last thing they set out
to do was to record a brand new piece of music.
Justin then started tossing out the words, anything, and they
all shot back and forth for a while. Now, once

(03:11):
Instagram caught on to this musical meeting, oh my God,
Bieber releasing a short video of this started everything to roll.
The video served as an all-call for all creative minds
to join in. Justin didn't want it to be a
pop song. Guess what? Peaches has come across as a
modern-day R & B classic. Justin got exactly what he

(03:35):
was looking for, and it worked. Peaches, from Justin Bieber.
I'm Arrow, and that's Music's Lost History.
