I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Why do we endlessly fall for click bait stories?  Plus…while sharing wine or champagne why do people always say, “Cheers!”    I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Think of it as your flat screen. You know how
you can go from Hulu to Netflix to Disney to
Paramount Plus? Okay, well, that's exactly what Arrow.net is. A-R-R-O-E.net.
It is the power of choice. In fact, one of
the best podcasts that we've got is That Voice. I've
spent the past 10 seasons with those on NBC's The Voice. Well,

(00:20):
now that it's back for its next season, let's talk
about that history as to how we got up to
where we are right now. That Voice, only on Arrow.net.
A-R-R-O-E dot net. Enjoy your exploration. Hey, it's me, that
question guy. You know, the dude that's always asking questions
because it's so much fun to do the research. Here's
one for you. Why do we endlessly fall for this

(00:44):
thing called clickbait? Plus, while sharing a glass of wine
or champagne, why is it that people always say, cheers?
What's going on here? My name is Arrow. I'm a
daily writer, a silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines
and do nothing but watch, listen, study, then activate. I
call it the daily mess because it's a chronological walkthrough

(01:05):
in everyday world. It is my daily writing. As a
receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to
throw things to the side because we think we're going
to deal with it later on. If you do not
write it down, you're not going to remember to do it. Well,
when a subject arrives inside of me, dude, it is
time to dig in. It's still keeping that daily journal,
but by doing the research, the picture is always going

(01:28):
to become clearer. This is the Daily Mess. What is
it about clickbait on the internet, and why is it
that we keep jumping into it? Although it's fake, we
still read it anyway. I was very much afraid to
do any type of research on clickbait in fear that
it was going to involve my Instagram, my Facebook, my

(01:49):
CNN news page. I mean, clickbait always shows up in
the absolutely most bizarre times and spaces. The top click
getters are associated with money. Of course, it's about making money.
Here's the winning line. People are losing blank amount of
money every month. And here's why. Coming in at number

(02:09):
two in the clickbait world is this one. Doctors are
warning about this. What, what, what, what, what? Exactly. Mystery
still carries. inside this digital age, and no one can
explain what we just found. Now, here's the thing. We
also have celebrity clickbaits, and the reason why is because

(02:30):
there will be something attached to it that says, so-and-so
has disappeared. Who is it? The most effective clickbait is
based on something that is actually plausible or partly true,
but it's not a wild lie. A compelling headline can
take a real event and exaggerate the implication. A good
example of how that has changed things is when scientists

(02:54):
have discovered something under the ocean. How can we best
explain this mystery? See, the critics are going to be
loving the second one because we've gone a little bit
further in that headline that fabricates the claim. Clickbait. It works.
Because as the National Enquirer once said, inquisitive minds want

(03:15):
to know. Hey, coming up next, why when we share
a glass of wine or champagne, do people go, cheers? Hey,
thanks for coming back to the Daily Mess. While sharing
a glass of wine, champagne, or even water, why do
people always shout out, cheers? Well, it's called a spoken toast.

(03:36):
A wish for good health, happiness, and good fortune for
those on the opposite side of the cheers. It was
the ancient Greeks and Romans who raised their cups during
celebrations or rituals. They were drinking to the health or
success of someone. So why do we even clink our glasses? Well,
the goal is to make drinking morally fun. It is

(03:58):
said that everyone's wine is supposedly supposed to be mixed
a little bit more during that impact. Really? Saying cheers
ripens the atmosphere. It carries energy into your sipping. Cheers
can be used at your biggest celebrations, but it's more
effective when two people in dimly lit rooms clink their

(04:19):
glasses and whisper, Cheers. See, it's not the glass. It's
the celebration. It's the people who are standing with us.
It's there in that moment of now, that cheers, that
things pretty much say, yeah. Yeah, this is very nice.
This is so much better than a verbal argument. And

(04:39):
whatever we do, the hidden away rule when it comes
to saying cheers, don't just shout it out in a group.
Have a reason and a purpose as to why we're
saying cheers. Wait for the right moment and then bring
it in. I'm Arrow and that's The Daily Mess.
