In this episode of Bring the Pain, J Ropes, a subscriber at Dr Roto, joins me to talk about fantasy football, amongst other stuff. Listen to J Ropes, as he talks about how he would always win other leagues but one league where the championship would always elude him. This is what intrigued me to not only have J Ropes on but to start a new series so that we could give back to our subscribers. I hope you enjoy this journey into fantasy football as we talk about many things surrounding the sports we love. Have a great day, everyone, and may the points be with you.

Thank you for the support and contributions all of you make for my podcasts and articles each week. Y'all the real #Painbringers!

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Get out the insurance cards, get out the copays. The
office is open, my friends, Rob Rota dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
So let's get to it the bar. What's up everybody?
Is he'd override and I'm ready to bring the pain
for you this week.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
O Ye. As you can see, I have a guest.
His name is Jay Ropes. He's one of the subscribers
at doctor Rodo.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
What's up today, Jay? How you doing?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I'm doing great?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Brother?

Speaker 5 (00:36):
Ay?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Brother?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
What brings Jay Ropes on today? Is he subscriber at
doctor rodo dot com? And he has been trying to
win a championship for many many years in this league.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
How many years has it been?

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Okay the one leader talking about.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
Years?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
This year? Twenty five years. That's dude. I I was
talking to you a little earlier about that.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I've had a lead for sixteen years and I've lost
the championship game I think four times. I've been the
number one team like three other times, and I just
won the championship two years ago or last year. So
like literally sometimes these things elude you. How was the grind?
Was there any other years that you were close to

(01:22):
actually winning it and it just came up short?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Well, it's a total point lead points league. Okay, and
I've actually won the super Bowl before before. But the
total points is where you win the money, the money,
so we know that's what we want.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
We want.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, and your name goes win the total points, total points,
so I'm not a second place. The second year I
lost my twelve points points two years ago ago, I
think I lost five. So at that point it goes
into obsession.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yes, you were talking about that.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Tell me about this obsession for points and winning, and
I mean it is, it's the whole fantasy football mentality
right totally.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I mean I've been playing since since back in California
when I look in Sokol Socoal. I started in nineteen
ninety ninety and we were scoring Mooring youth in the
LA four section on Monday Monday night.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
In all all.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Twelve members in one room, talk and shit and shit.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
We still to the day.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
So my first league I ever joined, I was at
McDonald's and of course this is where I say sometimes
you know, it corrupts the youth.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I was seventeen years old and a.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Bunch of my managers go, hey, we're just gonna come
through and we're gonna make this football league. Would you
like to join twenty Yeah, it was twenty dollars. Everybody
joins in. There was eight of us. This league stayed
at eight until like maybe four or five years ago,
and now this is since nineteen ninety four. And then

(03:02):
we we two of the Suns came into the league,
so that was cool. So now we're a ten team
league and we actually raised it. It was twenty dollars
a year all this entire time up until about that
time too, and then we finally put it up to
one hundred bucks a year.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So that's kind of like the fun thing.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Man, what's the if you don't mind me asking, what's
the pay in for this league? Sixty sixty that's that's
that's that's that's solid. And in what ways do you
feel that being part of Doctor Roto helped you in
finally obtaining your ring, your Snegel ring or whatever that

(03:41):
finally getting that golden goose egg?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, well we have a trophy.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
God god, I think the Discord channeling channel asking the
guys on the seasonal NFL NFL section section.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah, uh, and I'll see you on their.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
You know, you know when you're when you're going through
it through selections and some choices even made. It's it
is grinding, grinding, you know. You know, then what am
I going to play?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Higgins London and I have thank God, thank God, And
and I was playing playing.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You know, it was it was a tough choice a
lot and a lot of times I made the choice,
and then they would score thirty points on the bench
on the bench, yeah, and that kills you and kills you.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
It's so that happened a couple of weeks ago for
me to get in my championship league I got. I
had four great running backs Kenneth Walker, g nd Bright Brief, Yeah,
and then Jayleen Warren And I'm like, man, who do
I start?

Speaker 2 (04:51):
And I'm like, you know what, I'm just gonna play
it safe. And I played Jalen Warren. Wouldn't you know
everybody else scored over thirty points.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I like, it's it's crazy crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
And you know we played last week with the Championship
which is week eighteen eighteen, and we're.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Going to have a bug. We're going to cut it.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Off seventeen because of how crazy it was this year.
This year.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, yeah, and you know every year can be like this.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
It's going to be like, it's it's you know, and
you know, and I think I think in fantasy football
in general in general, we all have access to the
same information. Yes, it's not like it used to be
when when you could get ahead of the league, the
league with with some kind of kind of new kind

(05:39):
of there's everybody has everything that's endless, endless.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
It is you know, the one thing, And you do
bring up a good point.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
The one thing that, of course we have at the
site and stuff that we're able to use with DFS
hero is like the simulators for the DFS side and
stuff like that. But for the seasonal side. You talked
about the grind. You talked about, man, do I start
this guy? Do I start this guy? Do I start
this guy? And it's it's really hard. He becomes frustrating,
and I think sometimes you do feel like you're in
a corner.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I've heard the same thing.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
I saw a comment on YouTube or Facebook one of
the places, and it said can Fantasy football give you CTE?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
And I'm like, you know, I don't know. I was like,
I think it can. It really does take you through tears.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
So for me, being like being an expert, I kind
of like learned how to cope with.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
It, but it's still hard.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
So when I get losses, I'm like, all right on
the next week, all right on the next week.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
But I won't lie that sometimes we get a little jazzed.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
You know, you gotta have a memory.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
I mean, because.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
At the end of the day, we don't know how
they're feeling, you know why, you know, if they're going
through who knows what they're on. We don't know, We
don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Yeah, you're right, I mean, shit, nobody I knew David
Wells is out there drunk as hell, pitch it here,
we are here, learn about it later, and he just
goes right back and.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Drink some more.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
You never know, never know.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
You do, never know.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
And the thing is is that sometimes has raised a
lot of that's you bring this up.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
This was kind of a hard year.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
There's been some injuries at some times some players came back.
But then you get this final week. Like you were saying,
get rid of this final week because this year was
hard enough to keep up with. The last thing you
need to keep up with is start sit one quarter.
Oh he needs a touchdown, then he's probably getting pulled.
This that is the touchdown worth it.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I don't know. There's like thousands of questions come through.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
And that's where I think that having a place like
the Discord allows us to talk it out and talk
with different people and see kind of where the census goes.
You know, if you kind of see, well, okay, you know,
he'd overrides the only guy on this guy, but three
guys are on it.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I'm gonna go with Ashton Jenty.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Even though he says, you know, haul, because I feel
like the other three guys might have the thing, and
you go with him, he does better. It's the right move.
Regardless if you go the other way. It doesn't matter
what happens. The fact is that you're able to pull
those numbers and get that idea that helps you in
the end.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
When all over with doctor Roto on a Saturday morningday morning.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You know, people forget like when they go on the
X and they go, hey, doctor Roto and they.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Start asking him questions and asking us questions.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
And then even you know, sometimes he misses a lot
because a lot of people ask him a lot of questions.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
So we'll go in, we'll hit it up. He'll see it.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
He'll pop in but this is you don't got anybody
in the way. You don't have serious X and fantasy
screening your calls. You don't have a Callwait, you don't
have They're not taking calls for the rest of the show,
so you miss that call. Then you got to get
on with the next guys. And oh, by the way,
now it's a recorded show because sometimes they do that,
and now you can't get that question answer.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You go to bed, and now you're up in the morning.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
That's what having a show like that right before the
start and sit is like, man, and it's it's a lifesaver, man.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Well, because it's it's so close to Sunday and then
Sunday morning answer question questions that is so big, big
because then you see.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Who who, who's on the injury for, who's not going
to play, who's out for that day that day, and
then and then you know, you know, it's hard to
make a decision before Sunday morning morning. I've made a
mistake and just line of Saturday and change it and
we know how that is.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, you could bring up Jalen Warren kind of had
that happen to him twice this year, once when he
in the Overseas game when he was literally pulled an
hour before game and everybody's like, well, everybody's sleeping. It's like, well,
we got that information late. But when you have an
oversea game on, you know, early Sunday, you're missing that information.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Not everybody gets it.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
I actually missed that information, but somehow still pulled it
out in the scott Fish Bowl to get to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
There you what's that.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
That's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Oh it is, it is. I'll throw it in real
quick too.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I was faced, and the second time was I was
faced with dropping Jalen Warren for Roman Wilson or Calvin
Austen on my money in that game when he came
up sick and I'm like, oh dude, I seriously don't
need this.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I don't need this at all man. In games.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Yeah, he went off and I didn't take him up.
I was making a video for my website.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Oh man, it happens. Though, it happens.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
But like you were saying, you know, you're getting into
these you get into these like these these feelings, you
get into these big games and then you're just like, man, I.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Need that extra decision.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
But be able to talk with Doc and you know,
like I said, before, I was a caller, and that's
how Doc met me pretty much was I was a
fan of Docs before he actually got his own show,
and he was just calling in on I think it
was Lenny Melnick's show. One of the guys, Ray Flowers,
all those guys A seriously sent me to call in.
Then eventually he would have a skitz and I was like, man,

(11:09):
I got to get a hold of this guy.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
And then finally he had a show.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I would call in and then I started bringing the
pain and that's kind of where he kind of like
saw the wildness that.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
You know, intrigued him. He's like, dude, how's this guy
getting anything right? And then he just kind of sits
back and goes, ah, it works on that show.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
That show I do try Man, it's you know, it's
probably why I do a lot of the fighting and
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
But at the same time.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
It's it's it's that, it's the camaraderie. It's you know,
and Dowcas told me I'm wrong plenty of times. And
I don't think you can get that from a lot
of other sites. I think a lot of sites might
be vanilla or something. It might just ship you on,
whereas doctor Roto's like, all right, let's do this. And
being a teacher, he's you know, the way I I've
been edited over the years has taught me to kind

(11:57):
of be an editor and allowed me to write better articles. So,
like I said, this is just more than a friendship
with doctor Rodo and then you know, a relationship through
that and then getting to meet all the wonderful people
like you in the room. Do I have so much
fun in those rooms sometimes as you see, dude.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Well you learn a lot and it's a lot of
people people, and you know, doctor.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
And it comes down and down whatever he thinks he's.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Gonna happen, and we're all really predicting what we think
is gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
It's all opinions, opinions.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah, yeah, and that's it's sad, like you brought up earlier.
You you know, so you brought up that. You know,
we're just human. We're not trying to hurt you. We're
gonna we feel that this guy is gonna play good,
and then they don't, and then some people do choose
the wrong path on that.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Well, when you can't trying to help, you help, you
still it's still the coach's.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Decision to play fantasy team and put your best learn
up out there out there.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Mm hm.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
I can't blame any any decision on anyone but myself.
And that's how I yep.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
And you know that's a fair way to look at
it too, and to kind of get in there. I mean,
I've called in and gotten a bad start and switch.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
You know I didn't. I didn't call it out. You
know what I did. I created this podcast.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I created Pung the Bird because that's what That's why
I would call in with Tommy G and that would
just go off and I would be like, look, I
don't know what this guy was thinking, and they would
just for once, they would just like just let him
go for one minute and then we're good. And then
you know, I would get back into my normal call
and get and go from there. But just the overall

(13:32):
fact is like I think sometimes you need to have
some fun like that.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
You need to you need to just kick back and
be like.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Why is this guy going out at this ball like
a bitch, Like he should be going through that receiver.
It's kind of like why the Steelers when they lost
that game to the Browns he was throwing all Rogers
was throwing.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
The ball to MVS. M VS is not metcat.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
He's not gonna catch that over the back contested catch.
And that's just and for me, I'm gonna call that
out because MV yes sucked. All he's ever done, all
his entire career is catch long balls from Aaron Rodgers
and maybe anybody else, or maybe drop the ball.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
You know, he doesn't really practiced with Rogers. Why else
would keep.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
I mean, anything over twenty I think is good. Any
anytime you're asking that man to run a route, I
don't know about that. He's got to come up with
something else other than that man.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
That's John John.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Harbor just got I saw that. I saw that.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
That's it feels like that's one of those guys we're
gonna get fired.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Like if Tomlin lost this game, he might have got fired.
But Harbaugh, why, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
I like, I'm not a Raven, obviously, I'm a jackman.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
You're Jaguars.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
I went to the game Sunday. My son bought, which
is awesome. That was amazing, and I'm going to the
I just bought to take it for me today today.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
So we're going to the bills.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Who you're gonna be in person? Are you gonna be?
Are do you do any of the DFS? Are you
gonna do a DFS? Best ball at all?

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I've never played before.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Oh you know, one of the best times this time
of the year is the best ball because every single
week you could draft a new lineup, and with every
single week you get like a new chance. But it
also allows you to kind of mold throughout the entire playoffs,
to kind of gravitate towards that Super Bowl until they
finally cut it off.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
But they have it wide open now.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
I think it goes another week and then maybe one
more week after that and then it's just straight strictly
showdown basketball.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah. I was not really I was. I wouldn't say it.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
I never tried it before, but a few years ago
it was playoff times and I.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Was like, you know what, I'm gonna try it. And
then I got it all.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I got all the way to the top twenty five
and I pulled one hundred and thirty five dollars.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
And had a chance.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
I had a chance at more money, but it just
didn't work out. And the thing is is like, but
I got in that chance, and I was like, ooh,
that was fun. And so I did it again and
then got some more money. I'm like, ooh, that is fun.
So then here I am, third season in a row.
I just looked at him like, you.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Know, I got all these championship money.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Why not take some of this money and just throw
it towards you know, winning some more money before the
end of the season, because then after this it's UFC
strictly for me. Yeah, yeah, I mean I do baseball.
I do baseball, but after this, I'm not gonna go away.
UFC is huge for me. It's been a big what

(16:40):
I feel has been one of the best products at
it sports wide, across anybody's products because of how hard
that Dan and I have worked at the Fight Club
of Pain and trying to perfect this product.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
And I think this year.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
We really nailed it, which helped me actually learn the
round robin on the betting side of things.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
And I know not everybody bet, so that's that's fine.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
I know a lot of people that just do fantasy
football and fancy baseball, fancy basketball. I have a fantasy
baseball league, but you know, it's kind of just keeping
your hands in it, keeping your eyes.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
But the addition of the UFC has been really fun. Yeah,
maybe to check sometime maybe if you bet or if.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
You yeah, I bet.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
So that's why I developed that round robin with the UFC,
is I keep everything to like a point of five.
So five leg bar money line, five leg is the
parley of pain, and then five legs is the five
tastic picks that.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Is always on the site.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
So for me, I kind of keep it to that way,
and I say play it low, play the round robin.
Don't be playing twenty dollars per leg, because yeah, you
gotta learn, because well, if you do eight legs on
a round robin, you're putting in almost one thousand bets.
You can't possibly put ten dollars a bet.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
At a thousand bets. I mean maybe somebody can, but
I can't.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
So you know, for me, you got to kick it back,
you know, get down to like the dollar range, fifty
cent range when you're betting that much. But then when
you see the return, you're like, wait a minute. So
Ed put that up in there, and when he did,
the Bears, Carolina and Seahawks and those were all positive moneies.
Then he round Robin that and now he finally sees
all that stuff. So it's like the little twerks and

(18:24):
tweaks that you can find that can allow you to
you know, so even if you go three and five,
you're gonna return some money. Four yeah, yeah, yeah, four
and five you win all that money, five and five
you win a lot.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
You go two and five, you're still gonna return some
money to east that.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Loss instead of a regular you're done.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
You're done exactly so and I get that, like the
commitments a little more, but at the same time, it's
just kind of fun. And so I use that with
the NFL, as you've seen in the NFL betting section.
I've been able to play that and get that in
there and try to teach that because my number one
thing I'm teaching is hedging and in trying to hedge
that money and to get back because betting's hard.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Man.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
I started in NHL good Luck last year.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, we all kind of find like that little little
thing to kind of do it. But what brings us
all together, of course is fantasy sports. I mean, we
would never be having this podcast if it wasn't for
Fantasy Football Doctor Rodo dot Com. So to be able
to talk to somebody like yourself or to talk to me,
and to talk to anybody, even doctor Roto in that room.

(19:37):
It just shows how far technology has gone, but how
great this sport can be. And that's that's displayed every
year at the Fantasy Football Expo as well too.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
But man, that's the that's the heart of this game.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Man.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Fantasy football started the domino effects.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
They did, and it it is the best fantasy sport
out there, you know, fantasy wise. There's all these crazy
things and it is overpopulated right now, which is why
I guess this year was UFC was my most profitable
sport this year because of not only learning it, I
was able to exploit a lot of things that they had.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Plus the sites really don't know how to gauge fighters.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
So there was one what was it, I can't remember,
one of the fight nights they had. It was Laro
Murphy was priced completely wrong, and I think this was
one of his wins. It was earlier in the year
and they had him like seventy four hundred. They deleted
the whole.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Contest everything on Friday, and I caught it.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
I was like, what are they doing. They deleted everything
and they redid it and they raised this price, and
I was like, ooh, wee man. But that's the kind
of like like, that's what I'm seeing. When you see
things like that going on, that's when you This goes
back to everybody has the same product, but it's how
you acknowledge that product that helps.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You use it to your advantage to make money.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Damn they know what they know what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
They do.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
That's why they got those new discord channels.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I go in there and I see everybody talking and
they're all giving them the sports book what they're gonna play.
So wait a minute, we're talking about all this talk
about collusion. Yet you create a discord and you promote collusion.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Now, I don't even know what's going on, dude.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
It just and and how trustworthy of that because the
one time I brought it up on one of my
podcasts that one of their guys hit me up in
Messenger and I looked and I had the double check
and I was like, this is one of their mods,
this is one of their dudes.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
He was trying to get me to.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Go buy that, Like I think it was Chris Brown's
bets or whatever you see he was. He was like, yeah, man,
this guy don't miss And I was like, dude, you
do know you're talking to like somebody who sells it.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
And it goes crazy crazy.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yeah, I have all the text messages I couldn't.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
Yeah, man, damn, damn.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
And and that's a Draftking employee.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
That's ruthless, ruthless.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Like you got your your Draft Kings and your dude
is trying to funnel me into some guy's bets.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
That doesn't that didn't happen up to me.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
I'm kind of just like, yeah, man, there was. I
just left it a load. I was like, I just
stopped talking to him.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
I just don't blame you.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
That's kind of scary, scary.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
And you know, there's a lot of people that feel
that way about this industry, both the fantasy I mean.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Everybody's like, well, you should pay taxes on that. I'm like,
you know what, screw you, dude.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
You know it's not like you can't get your labor
gives you ten bucks twenty bucks because you mowed their lawn.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
You claiming that, now, shut.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Up, because because it's football, man, we ain't playing those games.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
Yeah, everybody.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
That is so that money, that money you said that
you were talking about and stuff.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
You know that, it's it.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
You're you're sitting there, you're doing this as like a
business and you're trying to run that and then you're
throwing that.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Back at at you and you're trying to be what
you were fighting to go against.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
So is it like they just waved the white flag
and they just completely out.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Now they're joining in.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Now they're giving fantasy advice for their own. It just
to me is like it's you're controlling the narrative.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Yeah, So for me, that's just one of those things
that you know, you you get to see a lot.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
That that's correct. It is their ego. They think that
they're god. I mean fantasy world, they are kind of god.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
At least they got They have a really cool UFC
draft contest.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
It's really fun to do best Ball Draft contest. That's fun.
But you know, I'll give them credit, they are trying
to listen in that.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
But this whole back backwoods, behind the scenes scheming. Maybe
they fired the guy, but maybe they didn't. That's my
problem is like the fact that it even went down
and I told the guy, I was like, dude, I'm
like an expert at this and like I just said earlier,
and he still proceeded, and I'm like I have yeah,

(24:21):
Like I'm at the biggest mouth in the world. I'm
gonna go to my podcast.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
And tell about it. What are you talking about? So yeah,
I mean, I know you're on time, straight and everything.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
I don't want to make everything too long, but you know,
I wanted to really keep keep this about us, about
the product at Doctor Roto and you this most of
all this podcast is about you finally taken down that
championship and not being the Buffalo Bills, which is what
I've been and felt like for many many years.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
And it just and they all congratulated because it's it's
pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yeah yeah, and and and like I said, that was
that was a long time man.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
That was that was some hungry, that was some drive.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
There's a lot of ship talk. And I went down.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Now you're at the top. Now you're at the top.
I mean, like I said, you get this. I in DFS.
My I always call myself I'm the bridesmaid of DFS
because I'm always gonna be second best. I'm always gonna
be a dude. I remember one time I was on
Draft Street. Now I think, no, this is FanDuel, and
I had like the perfect lineup and at four o'clock

(25:43):
there was only one seven o'clock game. I was in
first place with Mike Trout to go and I was
up by like ten or fifteen points, and I'm like,
I got this.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I got this. Mike Trout struck out four times.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
That games, negative point two five per strikeout.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I lost by point thirty nine.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
He either hits.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
I could have had a hit, not would have won.
He could have a hit, and I'm like, come on
your Mic Trout and literally couldn't do it. And then
I'm sitting there. So I went from three thousand dollars
to one hundred dollars. I'm like, okay, whatever. Yeah. Doc

(26:30):
talks about that hard rock down there a lot.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
It's crazy. Yeah, I'm trying to off off of that.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, it's I mean, you know, there's always ways to
shop sites and do things like that, and for me,
I think it still comes down to looking finding the
best numbers, and I don't have all that time to shop.
So that's why sometimes having a discord and you know
the way people will go, you know, negative two ten
FanDuel or something like that, or if you know, well
we already know he't override plays on fando A lot

(27:00):
those look like FanDuel screens.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
We're going to play that on fandels.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
So that's why screenshot and sometimes helps you don't have
to worry.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
About tiping that.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
But you know that.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Is that is so all in all with fantasy football
and everything going on you as of right now, how
do you look at yourself as a fantasy football player
the same?

Speaker 1 (27:24):
I just you know, you know, you take you have
and you do the best you.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
I just just keep an open mind and mind.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
But just stavor, never give up. Never that's something that
people give go. I've made the playoffs and took third
place with an zero to five team.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
I went eight and five.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
This team that I won the championship with this year
so many bad breaks, was five and six. But this
year's parody will allowed a lot of teams under five
hundred to get in the playoffs, and for me, I
was able to make it to back to eight and
six and then push through. But if I'm like a
lot of other people, or you don't have a sight

(28:09):
and everything's going wrong or more injuries is coming up
and you don't have a back, you're just gonna fade
or you're gonna check out, and that hurts the rest
of the league. And I and all of us despise
that in fantasy football when some dude doesn't start as
starters and then you get a free win with this
guy and you're trying to get to the playoffs, and
it's you were him.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yes, sir, sir, so I need to it is.
