Speaker 2 (01:02):
If you woke up this morning feeling a little tired,
maybe a little sluggish, or simply not yourself, you're not
alone and you're not out of options. Every single day,
millions of Americans reach for that extra cup of coffee,
the afternoon sugar fix, or the dose of denial that
tells them maybe this is just how it feels getting older.

(01:23):
But let me tell you that mindset is not really
a disease, not the fatigue, because health isn't just about surviving,
It's about thriving. It's about waking up ready to live,

welcome to our new friends tuning in from KWKN in Kansas,
and a huge thank you to everyone helping keep this
program growing across America and beyond. We got a lot
to talk about. Recently, doctor Bob and I we attended

(03:11):
where over five thousand of the world's leading longevity experts,
physicians and researchers all gathered in Las Vegas for the
A four M conference, the Longevity Fest and that's the
anti aging conference, the largest in the world. And doctor Bob,
you know a few of the things that really I
think are going to shine in twenty twenty six. We're

(03:34):
talking about the brain longevity, you know, precision health and
medicine that really is expanding on the testing of individuals.
Of course, I think we talked about a lot last year,
but I think it's going to continue talking about the
microbiome and even longevity associated with that gut microbiome, and
even hormones and healthy aging. Those those are things that

(03:54):
come to mind when I think about what's going to happen.
What's the latest and greatest this year in anti agent
and longevity? What are you seeing or what are your
thoughts after that conference?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Well, here you have a conference of literally thousands of
doctors getting together from all over the world, doctors of
different education levels, different degrees. You have PhDs, you have mds, doos,
you have nds, d c's, all kinds of doctors who

(04:27):
are interested in one thing, and that's getting their patients. Well,
this organization, the American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine, really
got going in the early two thousands, and I'm happy
to report and pretty proud of the fact that we
were there inaugural class in the year two thousand. Myself

(04:51):
and a bunch of my colleagues and friends went through
their program to prepare us for an extent some examination
in a board certification of anti aging Medicine as physicians
as healthcare providers, and I am so glad we did

(05:11):
it because these these individuals, doctor Klatz and doctor Goldman,
you know, were way ahead of our, way ahead of
the curve in terms of you know, their background both medically, osteopathically,
and otherwise, and they wanted to bring together this information
to share it with other doctors of different degrees and

(05:34):
have done so and have been very successful at it.
And each year they have conferences all over the country.
We just happened to meet up in Las Vegas, Nevada,
where they have the biggest one of the year, and
the place was packed full of doctors. There were people
displaying new and innovative tools and techniques and products and

(05:58):
various other things. And I came away from that with
a lot of confidence the fact that it continues to
grow and people are continuing to want to know this information.
And you know, now as a clinician, you get to
be able to go back to your practice and put
into action what you learn. So the forefront of this

(06:20):
is you know, age defiance. Ultimately, that you don't have
to believe that you're over the hill at age forty
and you know it's all downhill from there. Some people,
you know, the sixty is the new forty. It can
go the other way. You can actually take a person
who is sick, whose biomarkers are showing that they're aging rapidly,

(06:45):
and you can turn that around by understanding what's going
on inside their body and changing their lifestyle, changing their diet,
changing their nutrition, lowering their stress, trying to take way
toxins out of their environment in some way helping them
to get more sleep. These are things that you don't

(07:07):
typically get trained in in a conventional training of you know,
making the making of a doctor. So most of the
training that is derived in this arena happens postgraduate. You know,
you go through your your pre med or your your
Liberal arts. Then you get into the professional school.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
You're to be degreed as a doctor, whether it be
a a medical physician, or a chiropractic physician or a
nature pedic physician, which are the three primary care providers
in the United States.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
But when you come out of those trainings, often you're
left with voids in your care understanding. People come in
the door with all the various illnesses and you go,
oh my, I didn't learn much about that in school.
What do I do, and so it kind of compels
you and forces you back to thinking about in order

(08:06):
to do the best job for my patients who are
depending on me, I better learn about this stuff. And
that's what happened to me. When I graduated a long
time ago, Doctor Brockman, I decided that the education that
it had was excellent, it was just deficient in certain
areas such as clinical nutrition, anti aging, medicine, preventive health measures.

(08:29):
So I went back to school for another three years
and then another two years on top of that and
learn these things. And I'm glad I did.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, and doctor Bob, I think the overarching message from
the Longevity Fest wasn't what you said, agent is optional.
It's how we age. It's largely within our control. And
a lot of the research that was presented throughout the
conference it consistently showed that having the right interventions a

(09:01):
lot what we talk about on the show, implemented at
the right time, it can actually improve both health span
in lifespan. But here's here's the critical thought is that
longevity medicine isn't about adding years to a declining life.
It's about adding life to those years that you do have.

(09:23):
So the goal isn't just to live longer, but but
to maintain the vitality that cognitive function, which I think
brain health is going to be huge this year, and
in the physical capacity throughout extending your life. And so
so the evidence throughout throughout the conference, the presenters, the

(09:43):
the uh those that are we're exhibiting, the over eight
hundred exhibitors, it suggests that we're entering that new era
of medicine where we're aging, the aging decline related decline.
It's increasingly preventable and in some cases reversible. Like you said,
the the biological age, how do we do that? You know,

(10:03):
seventy We got like, like you, doctor Bob, You're you're
like forty years old, right, you know, so that's like,
but yeah, that's exactly that's the whole point of this, right.
And so so the key is is taking action while
you're still healthy rather than waiting until problems develop. And
that's that's the whole key of longevity medicine to me.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Right, It's it's really about health optimization, which is what
chiropractic physicians are taught from day one. We're not taught that,
you know, you fix people once they break. We're actually
schooled in helping people to understand that they can be
healthy throughout their entire life, provided that whatever is interfering
with their health is prevented outright.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, that's exactly right, Doctor Bob and Doctor Bob, what
do you think about getting into some color questions after
the break you're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.

(12:50):
zero six eight eight two two.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
All right.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Let's go ahead and get to some of your questions.
Let's start with Anthony in Chicago.

Speaker 7 (13:01):
Y's the name of Anthony. I listened to these programming and
tactor Bob Marron about oral health and QT garbic bill
take like four pills a day for your gums to

(13:22):
do with gum disease? Can you give me a toll
free phone number where I can place the order for
these pills? For h for for the mouth, for all
anti bacteria, something like that.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
All right, Anthony, what you're referencing is the conversation I
had with Jim Leball just a a couple episodes ago,
and we were talking about coolic age garlic extract, and
you can find that at chiolic dot com. It's spelled
k y o lic dot com. Again, that's k y

(14:08):
O l C dot com. You can also call their
toll free hotline to order, which is eight hundred four
two one two nine nine eight. Again, that's eight hundred
four two one two nine nine eight. And uh, doctor Bob.
We got a couple other questions about this this topic,
So I'm gonna go ahead in play. Carrols in Madison, Wisconsin.

Speaker 8 (14:33):
My name is Carol. I'm calling it from Madison, Wisconsin.
I hear you talking about Demo care. One thing, if
you use f I toothpaste, if you wash your mouth
out of water, most of it is gone. Number two
all placked. My understanding is starts on the tongue. That's

(14:54):
the reason they have tongue brushes, and then everybody should
use the tongue brush for good gum. Hell, the thing
everybody should use is a water peck and start out
as a low pressure so you don't injure the gums
and you'll build it up. You wash and flush everything
at the gum lines. When you go to the dentist

(15:15):
to have your teeth clean, it's rare that I ever
draw blood. And I'm eighty nine years old, so I
want to let you know that.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Thank you, all right, thank you Carol, and again at
eighty nine years young. Your commitment to dental care, it's
really shining through and the results. I think that speaks volumes.
And you're right about rensing immediately after brushing. That can
wash away if you use a fluoride toothpaste. But your

(15:44):
emphasis on ton care that's spot on. The ton often
acts like a sponge for bacteria in that debris that
forms plaque and that biofilm which can later transfer to
the tooth surfaces. At a quick daily brushing or tons graping,
that's a simple, low cost move with big returns for

(16:04):
the not only breath freshness, but that plaque prevention and
also that tip that you gave on the water pick.
That's another winner. The gentle progressive water flossing can can
improve gum circulation and it can reduce that that bacterial
load below the gum line. And for anyone new to that,
I say, you always start with a lower pressure, the

(16:26):
lowest pressure, and build slowly and aim the stream at
the gum margin, not directly into it. And so again
thanks thanks for recall Carol. And uh, that's the proof
that that consistent care pays off at any age. So
you're showing, showing us all that prevention really is the
best dental plan, doctor Bob.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, thanks again Carol for the phone call there and
bringing that up. I think more people need to pay
attention to their oral health is so important. It's the
gateway to the body. If you start in a and
you fumble the ball, you know, on the one yard line,
which is the oral care, your oral care, there's going
to be trouble from that point down all the way

(17:09):
down into your di justicystem out to the rest of
the parts of your body. So you got to get
it right now. I have to take exception to one
thing that Carol did say, and that has to do
with fluoride. I am anti fluoride on any basis. Yeah,
now I get that he mentioned he's you know, he
puts the fluoride in the mouth, he swishes it around

(17:29):
and spits it out. I'm here to tell you, Carol,
that that fluoride is still absorbing into your body. This
is why we use sublingual supplements and things. Anytime anything
touches the inside of your mouth, your gums, and that tissue,
it's immediately absorbing. Fluoride is a toxin. It's a byproduct

(17:52):
of the aluminium industry, and it is carcinogenic. We know
that it's carcinogenic, which means it can cause cancer. So
many European countries have banned fluoride for a very good reason.
They know that it's toxic. They know that it's carcinogenic,
they know that it can reduce the IQ of young children,

(18:14):
and so you need to stay completely away from fluoride.
There's no reason to use fluoride. The dental profession has
convinced the general public in the United States that your
teeth will fall out and you'll be toothless if you
don't use fluoride. Couldn't be any further from the truth.
It's just not true. I have never used fluoride in

(18:37):
my life under any circumstances, and wouldn't let a dentist
come near any of my six children with fluoride, because
I know how toxic it is. Because I had the
great opportunity many times to interview one of the world's
authorities on fluoride toxicity, doctor John Yemianism, PhD, who wrote
a book you should look up called Flow the Aging Factor,

(19:01):
and he sets forth all the scientific information and evidence
that shows that fluoride is bad news. You should avoid it.
So avoid it, and you can find a toothpaste like
the Spry tooth based line excellent without fluoride. You don't
need it. I agree with you on the tongue scraping
because your tongue is an extension of your stomach. It's

(19:24):
part of your digestive system. So yeah, anything you put
in your mouth, bacteria can happen. And your tongue is
a great way to monitor your digestive system. If it
has like a white coat on it, you got problems.
If it's got like cheesy, look as problems. Find a
traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and have somebody analyze your tongue.

(19:45):
They can tell you all kinds of things about your
internal health just by looking at your tongue, which is amazing. Also,
he said doctor Brockman that using a water pick is important.
I totally agree. The very first thing that I do
with my dental care is I flass, then I use
the water pic and then I brush with the Spry

(20:08):
dental defense stuff, which is basically their toothpaste. The Spry
toothpaste comes in peppermint cinnamon, and I can't remember the
other flavor. And the mouthwash the mouth rints. So you
put you go on that program along with the Kyolic. Internally,
you're going to get fantastic results. And the only thing

(20:30):
that can happen is your health can improve.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Great suggestions, doctor Bob, And let's take a break, and
I want to build on this just a little bit
further with our next caller question. You're listening to the

Speaker 2 (25:33):
All you got to do is head over to doctor
Bob dot com. That's spelling out the word doctor D
O C T O R Bob dot com. Again, that's
eight hundred six zero six eight A two two, or
at doctor Bob dot com. All right, doctor Bob, let's
get back into the next question. And I want to
remain on the topic of oral health with Ray and
Chandler Arizona.

Speaker 12 (25:57):
Yes, doctor Blackman, this is Ray. You were talking today
about age colag auge garlic. Well, you know what, I'm
on Aloquist and the pharmacy. The pharmacists are telling me
since I am on Aloquist, I cannot I cannot take

(26:21):
the cal like age garlic because that is a blood
thinner that would make me bleed more So, I am
stuck as far as taken colagauge garlic because I am
on uh uh, I am on Eloquist for irregular heartbeats.

(26:45):
So any ways, I use fry two paste and I
use zalatol mouthwash right now, and I got a water pick,
and I got a h a brush h h ride
or brush wooding called omnibrush whatever it is to go
in between the teeth. So anyways, I don't know, I

(27:11):
can't take.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
All right, ray, thank you, And that's a for the
for the call. And I can appreciate how carefully you're
thinking about the interplay between natural supplements and prescribe medications.
And that's exactly what type of proactive informed health thinking
that we encourage on the show. And you are correct
that that age garlic it has a mild natural blood

(27:37):
thinning property, and that's largely due to compounds like Allison
and a joan, which can help improve blood flow and
support cardiovascular health. However, when a person is already taking
an anti coagulant like Eloquist, adding any additional blood thinner
or thunning agent, even a natural one, can in some

(27:59):
case high the risk of bleeding. So your pharmacist, the
advice is sound and the caution's well placed. You know
natural medicines, they are powerful and when use alongside prescription therapies,
the key word is coordination. So if age garlic's heart
protective effects appeal to you, talk with your prescribing physician

(28:21):
about whether a lower dose or a monitored introduction could
be a safe and effect of a supervised option for you. Now,
as far as your oral care routine, Ray, I have
to say that that's a you got some good suggestions there.
The like we talk about on the show. Spry toothpaste
with xylotol. It helps to resist bacterial growth. The mouth

(28:43):
wash helps keep the balance pH in your mouth and
your mouth, and then that water pick and the brush
it reaches those impossible to floss spaces. So that's a
what I would consider a gold standard routine that supports
overall gum and cardiovascular health. And remember that healthy gums
and that healthy heart, they're very much connected. So again, Ray,

(29:07):
thanks for bringing up this question raising that topic. So
keep that integrative mindset going, my friend. All right, doctor
Bob your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Yes, Ray, again, thanks for your call. I'm glad you
called in on this question, because a lot of people
who are listening to this show right now are taking
some form of anti coagulating drug. It could be aspirin,
it could be plavix, it could be eloquesce, or it
could be a whole variety of other drugs, and they
have the same concerns that you have. Now, I must

(29:40):
before I started here, correct a little bit of a
misconception about kyle ic garlic and vitamin E and gen
sing and several other herbs that some people believe have
blood thinning capability. They do not. That's really a misnomer.
They do not function in the same way drugs do
in terms of thinning the blood. What they actually do

(30:02):
is correct the reason why the blood gets thick in
the first place. So it's they're really not blood thinners
per se. And that leads me to your concern here,
and you should have a concern. And your pharmacist does
have a point that if you start taking something like
kyle la garlic and it starts to correct the reason

(30:23):
why you had the high viscosity blood or you have
a tendency to have blood clots, it may actually help
correct the problem. And then you may overdose on the eloquist,
so it's really the other way around, but it needs
to be carefully monitored. Nonetheless. But by the way, did
the pharmacist tell you that eloquists also causes serious life

(30:46):
threatening internal hemorrhaging. That's one of the potential side effects
of the drug you're on. And there's a whole long
list of them. You should know those before you take
the next dose. And you can get that anywhere on
the internet. Just do a Google search, uh, you know,
potential side effects of eloquist and you'll see what I'm
talking about. Look, there's a reason why you have this condition.

(31:11):
And usually when we drill down on patients to find
out how they got to the point of having irregular
heartbeats or how building clots are having intermittent clodication or
phlebitis or you know, various other vascular concerns. Is because
one they're eating the wrong foods. Two, they haven't paid

(31:32):
attention to their lifestyle in terms of exercise, they may
not be taking supplementation. There's reasons. We usually create those
problems by virtue of the way we live. And it's
not our fault, it's not your fault. You when you
went to your doctor's visits over the years, your annual
doctor's visits. You know, you get an examination. Everything's fine.

(31:56):
Doctor says, yeah, everything looks good. See you next year.
You come back next year. Are things fine. You go
on for maybe a decade or two, and then finally

All right, let's get back into your questions. Next up

(37:18):
is Joan in Albuquerque.

Speaker 11 (37:22):
Hello, Joan from Albuquerque, New Mexico. How do you treat
a UTI naturally without using antibiotics? He's talking about bladders today.
That's a good question for today's show to be able
to treat a UTI naturally without antibiotics. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
All right, thank you Joan for your question. A urinary
track infections UTIs, they can be painful and they can
be downright disruptive for the body. So it's smart to
ask how we can support the bodies defenses naturally. So
let's be clear when this. When the symptoms they're severe,
like high fever, flank pain, or blood in the urine,

(38:08):
that's time for medical evaluation and there's no exceptions with that.
But when you catch it early or more as a
preventative measure, there are excellent natural approaches that can make
a real difference. First, I want to bring up hydration
and that's your front line defense. Think of your bladder
as a self cleaning system, and the more water that

(38:28):
you flush through, the fewer bacteria can take hold. So
if you add a splash of pure cranberry or d
mannos powder to your water, those natural compounds work like
tiny shields and they prevent bacteria, in particular E. Coli
from latching onto the bladder walls. And now if we're

(38:49):
talking about foods, I want you to favor anti inflammatory
choices like think of lots of leafy greens, pumpkin seeds,
and parsley. These are are all rich in minerals that
calm irritation and avoid sugary drinks and refined carbs because
bacteria it thrives on those sugars. And I also want

(39:12):
to suggest probiotics. They play a starring role, especially those
with lactobacillas. They're friendly bacteria that help restore the balance
in the urinary track and may reduce further infections. On
the show, we recommend doctor Oheres probiotics. If we if
we move on to some of the herbal allies that

(39:32):
you can pick up in a natural like natural grocers
or other grocery stores. We look at grape root, corn, silk.
These are all traditional bladder mixtures or herbals that you
can create a tonic with that. And don't forget they
They're very simple, but they're powerful in a it clears
that bacteria before things get uncomfortable. And for ongoing prevention,

(39:57):
consider adding unsweetened cramber extract or vitamin C to maintain
acidic urinary environment. That's that's less hospitable to those bacteria. So, Joan,
the big takeaway is that nature does have a remarkable
toolkit for UTIs, but it works best when used early, inconsistently.

(40:18):
It's consistently with that doctor Bob.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Yes, Joan, you have just helped a lot of women
with a very troublesome problem that they have because there
are women listening who are going to be relating to
the UTI challenge that you have and by virtue of
you calling into this radio show. And this is why
talk radio is so powerful, is because we can come
to a forum where we can share thoughts and ideas

(40:44):
and experiences to help other people. I mean, is there
any greater calling in life than to help other people?
I ask? The answer is no, and that's why this
radio show has survived thirty years plus. All right, let's
get to it, doctor Brockman, when you mentioned manos D manos,
the number one most important thing they can do is

(41:06):
to take this because this is how cranberry works. Manos
comes from cranberry and other things, but mostly from cranberry,
and it creates an anti adherence process, which means the E. Coli,
which is about seventy percent of all UTIs come from E. Coli,
which is basically fecal matter that gets cross contaminated from
the anis area to the vaginal area in women mostly

(41:28):
and that D manos stops the adherence from these germs,
these bacteria from clinging to the urinary track. So yeah,
that's it. So skip the cranberry, just go into the
help storing, get the manos. But you must must take
doctor Ohiris probiotics on an empty stomach last thing before
going to bed, and if you have an active UTI

(41:51):
or a mild UTI, takes six of them, six capsules
right before bed. They're little tiny capsules. Take that before bed,
and another six right before you get ready to have breakfast.
A half hour before breakfast, you'd be good to go,
a lot of water, stay away from the sugar and
the chocolate and the junk food that helps with breeding
of the bacteria. I'm a big fan of also using

(42:14):
birch leaf extract on urinary track infections in combination with
doctor oheres in combination with manos in combination with the
H two oh, increasing your water and that too, as
we say, shall pass.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
All right again, thanks a lot for your call and question, Joan,
And again I think you're gonna help a lot of
people with that. And uh, we're again folks. If you've
got questions, give us a call at eight hundred six
er O six eight A two two. Again, that's eight
hundred six ero six eight A two to two. We'll
we'll talk after the break. You're listening to the Doctor
Bob Martin Show.
