This week on “Health Talk America presents The Dr. Bob Martin Show”, Dr. Adam Brockman takes you inside a groundbreaking new frontier — where inflammation, longevity, and AI collide. The medical mainstream is finally catching up to what natural health experts have said for decades: it’s not just about cholesterol, it’s about inflammation. From the “Great Lipid Lie” redefining heart disease to retinal scans that use artificial intelligence to calculate your biological age, this episode reveals the science and stories that could change how you think about aging forever. But that’s just the start. Dr. Brockman also tackles new hope for pancreatic cancer, the HPV vaccine rebrand that’s targeting men’s health, and why keeping your “biological terrain” clean could be the most important health move you make this year. Then, we trade medical breakthroughs for mental ones — exploring how to plan “low-stress family travel” that actually restores your health. Whether you’re fighting inflammation, chasing longevity, or just trying to outrun family vacation chaos, this show has your roadmap.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Good Day America. You're tuned into Health Talk America presents

shoes today and man, do we have a great hour
of the show. Lined up for you. If you're just
rolling out of bed, grab that organic mold free coffee,

(01:22):
or better yet, a tall glass of lemon water, and
pull up a chair or put those earbuds in and
go for a walk. We're going to dive deep into
the news that mainstream media is either missing or misinterpreting.
Today isn't just about surviving, it's about thriving in a
world that's constantly trying to rust your gears. So again,

(01:42):
we've got a massive show ahead. Later this hour, we're
going to discuss some family fun, our health alternative of
the week, and finish strong with our health mystery. But
before we get there, we have to talk about the
headlines that's shaking the foundations of modern medicine. We're talking
about a total re think of heart disease AI looking
into your soul. Well, you're rettin as at least in

(02:06):
some genuinely staggering news in a fight against cancer. So
if you want to follow along or catch the replay
after it airs, I invite you to head over to
doctor Bob dot com. Again, that's doctor Bob dot com
spelling out the word doctor doc t o r bob
dot com. Also, if you have a health related question,

(02:26):
you can dial our toll free hotline at eight hundred
six zero six eight A two two. Again, that's eight
hundred six zero six eight eight two two. Okay, let's
go ahead and get into our health headlines this week
that actually matter. First up, we have the great lipid lie.

(02:56):
We got for forty years, four decades, folks, the medical
established has had a singular, obsessive focus when it comes
to your heart, and that's cholesterol. They treated LDL like
it's the only villain in the story, handing out statins
like their after dinner mints. But this week the narrative
is officially shifting, and it's about time. New evidence is

(03:18):
pouring in that proves what we've been saying on the
show for years that high cholesterol is often just a bystander,
the real arsonist that's in the building. That's chronic inflammation.
I want you to think of it this way. If
your arteries are a highway, cholesterol is just the traffic.
Traffic doesn't just pile up unless there's a massive pothole

(03:40):
or a slick in the road. Inflammation is that pothole.
It's the biological rust that makes your vessels the sticky,
the walls sticky, they're damage and they're prone to catching
that cholesterol. Well, the medical world is finally starting to
prioritize sea reactive protein CRP reading. That's I say it,

(04:02):
that should be considered over the standard lipid panel. And
this is a game changer that the medical world is
catching up to that too. The CRP, it's a marker
of systemic inflammation. If your CRP is high, your body
is essentially on fire. So the study recently showed that
individuals with low cholesterol but high CRP were at a
much higher risk for a cardiac event than those with

(04:25):
high cholesterol but low inflammation. So we need to stop
asking how high is my fire, my fat content, that
cholesterol content, and start asking how hot is my fire.
To stay ahead of this, you've got to arm yourself
with anti inflammatory ammunition. We're talking high dose omega threes,
tumeric and cutting the refined sugars that act as gasoline

(04:45):
for that internal blaze. Okay, Well, next up we have
the eye of the beholder and AI in that search
for your biological age. So let's go ahead and move
on from the heart to the eyes. There's a wild
new frontier that's opening up in what we call longevity labs.
In major academic heavyweights like Northwestern University in University of

(05:06):
Texas at San Antonio are opening dedicated longevity clinics that
feel like something out of a movie. They're not just
looking at your birth certificate anymore. We all know that
guy who is forty five but he looks seventy in
the woman who's eighty but moves like she's fifty. That's
the difference between chronological age in biological age. And the

(05:28):
shocking part that these clinics are now using artificial intelligence
to analyze your retina that's right the back of your eye.
Scientists have discovered that the microvessels in your retina is
that's a direct window into the health of your brain
and your heart. So by running a simple retinal scan
through AI algorithms, they can calculate your biological age with

(05:53):
a great precision. So this retinal clock can predict your
risk for cardiovascular collapse before symptoms appear. It's about moving
from sick care to predictive care. So we're entering an
era where your smartphone might tell you that your biological
systems are aging too fast, and it gives you the
chance to pivot your lifestyle before the damage becomes permanent.

(06:15):
So this is exactly what we emphasize in what Doctor
Bob has said for years. You can be your own
best doctor most of the time. You don't want to
be that last person to know that your eyes are
snitching on your lifestyle habits. You need to be proactive. Okay,
we've got a beacon of hope. It's a doubling survival
rate in pancreatic cancer. So I want to pivot to

(06:39):
some news that is genuinely emotional. It's been the silent killer,
often discovered too late with very few options, but this
week the wires are humming with hope. There's two new
drugs currently in phase three clinical trials that are showing
results that were previously unthinkable. They are doubling survival rates
for pancreatic cancer patients. Now phase three is that final

(07:01):
hurdle before FDA approval. And while we are always cautious
about new pharmaceuticals, one hundred percent increase in survival duration.
That's a huge, a staggering statistic that cannot be ignored.
These drugs they work by unmasking the cancer cells, allowing
the body's own immune system to finally see that biological

(07:23):
rust we teak keep talking about, and go to work
cleaning it out. So it's a massive win for science.
But remember, the best defense is a proactive offense. Keeping
your immune system educated through proper vitamin D three levels
medicinal mushrooms in a clean terrain is the best bet
for making sure these cells never get a foothold in

(07:43):
the first place. All right, And finally, men, once again,
it's your turn, and we're talking about the HPV vaccine rebrand.
All right, So finally, let's go ahead and talk about
a headline from the Journal of American Medicine, the oncology
journal that has a lot of guys shifting uncomfortably in
their seats right now. For the longest time, the HPV

(08:07):
vaccine was marketed almost exclusively towards young women as a
way to prevent cervical cancer. Well, the data is in
and it turns out men we need to be paying
attention to. New research shows that the HPV vaccine is
cutting head, neck, and throat cancers in men by about
fifty percent. So we've seen a troubling spike in these

(08:30):
specific cancers in men over the last decade, and it's
a direct link to this HPV virus. So there's no
longer just a women's issue here. It's a human issue,
including men. And so whether you choose the vaccine or
choose to boost your immune system through natural protocols, the
takeaway is clear. The virus doesn't discriminate. So we have

(08:53):
to stop thinking about health in gendered silos and start
looking at the total viral load our bodies are carrying.
So let's go ahead in and tie it all together.
All these headlines, from inflammation in your heart to the
AI in your eyes, it points back to one central theme,
and that's the terrain. Your body is either an environment

(09:15):
where health flourishes or where rust takes over. And through
the show, we're going to keep giving you the exact
steps to lower that CRP, to protect your retinas and
your eyes, your heart, your brain, and keep that biological
age decades behind your birthday. All right, folks, we're coming

(09:35):
up on a break. I want you to stay with us.
We're gonna take this quick break to hear from our sponsors,
but I don't want you to go anywhere. We're just
getting started on this hour. You're listening to Health Talk
America presents the Doctor Bob Martin Show, and I'm doctor
Adam Brockman. We'll be right back.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Hi. I'm Connie Britton, and I want to share with
you the experience of Donna in Washington. She writes, I
got injured about five years ago. I was let go
when because of the injury, I couldn't keep up with
my schedule. I've tried to find other work, but I'm
sixty eight now. No one wants to hire someone that old.

(10:24):
This week is tough, though, because I had to get
my tooth fixed, so I only have ten dollars in
my checking account. But it will be okay. I at
least have food because of this pantry. Millions of people
face hunger, some every day, just like Donna. The Feeding
America network of food banks helps provide over six billion

meals to people in need each year. Learn more at

Welcome back. You're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show
and I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and folks, doctor Bob and
I were all about helping you live and thrive naturally
and teaching you to become your own best doctor. So
if you've got questions about the latest health headlines we
just went over, I invite you to give us a
call at eight hundred six zero six eight eight two

(12:32):
two again that's eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two two. That's where you'll find doctor Bob and I
and we're standing by to help unlock your best self again.
That's eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
All right. You know it's it's stress awareness this month.
And I want to go ahead and talk about that
summer vacation trap, that magical time of year when families

(12:56):
spend thousands of dollars to become dehydrated and overstimulated and
underslept and somehow mad at each other in a beautiful location.
You know, you plan four months, pack like you're fleeing
the country. You survive airport security with three snacks in
a prayer, and then come home needing a chiropractor, a nap,

(13:18):
and maybe a second vacation. And if that sounds too familiar,
you're not feeling at vacation. You are participating in a
very modern, very common health problem. So as a doctor
and a dad, I can tell you that this is
one of the greatest ironies of summer. We chase. We

(13:39):
often chase rest with intensity, like it we're some type
of a swat team. We work, We work for fifty
weeks for a getaway. Then spend the getaway rushing, waiting, hauling, sweating,
spending and refereeing little emotional hostage situations and flip flops.
So I want you to join me as we uncover

(14:00):
a real truth and that's a vacation that can absolutely
improve your health, but only if you stop turning it
into a seven day cortisol festival. So from a longevity perspective,
travel can be fantastic. You get new scenery, time away
from routine, You get sunlight, movement, laughter, in meaningful family

(14:23):
connection that can all help support mental health and lower
that alistatic load that where and tear burden stresses place
that's on the body. But here's the troubling part. Roughly
sixty percent of travelers say they're relaxing trips leave them
more drained than when they started. And that's a huge statistic,

(14:43):
but honestly, after watching families power walk through theme parks
like their storm in a Castle, I believe it. So
let's go ahead and dive into the science of travel. Stress.
Cortisol is your main stress hormone. In the right amount,
it can be helpful. It wakes you up, it keeps
you alert, and it helps you respond to challenges but

(15:06):
when cortisol stays elevated too long, it begins to sabotage
the very benefits your vacation was supposed to deliver. High
cortisol can worsen sleep, it can increase irritability, it can
disregulate your blood sugar, it can weaken your immune system,
and it can amplify your body's inflammation. So, in plain English,

(15:26):
if your break leaves you edgy, puffy, exhausted, craving junk
and snapping at your spouse because someone lost the hotel key,
your body is not in vacation mode. It's in low
grade survival mode. And you're wearing sunglasses. So that's why
I tell people this all the time. Not all trips
are restorative. Some are just stressed with a pool. Now,

(15:50):
I'm not anti travel, I'm pro smart travel. I want
you to come back with memories, not muscle spasm. Which
brings me to Orlando. When most people think of heading
to Orlando, you already know what's lurking in the distance,
and that's the mouse Disney World. It's iconic, it's huge,
it's polished, it's nostalgic, and for most families, it's a

(16:14):
rite of passage. But let's just say the place can
also feel like a master class in organized chaos. The
crowds are enormous, the walking is relentless, and unless you
r in a scooter, but don't get me started on that.
The lines they can stretch longer than your patients. And

(16:34):
once you add in heat, noise, sugar, and the complexity
of moving children throughout a giant theme park ecosystem, things
can get a little spicy in a hurry. And as
a dad, I get the appeal, and as a doctor,
I also recognize the signs of a nervous system being
mugged in broad daylight. You know, dense crowds, they matter.

(16:57):
Your brain is not neutral about them. Research consistently shows
that crowding, noise, unpredictability, and long waves can activate a
fight or flight response. Your body starts to read this
environment as stressful, so your heart rate goes up, your
tension rises, and patients fall through the roof. And then

(17:18):
you start to have this classic theme park chain reaction.
You got one hungry kid, one overheated parent, one delayed ride,
one overpriced mystery snack, and suddenly everybody's having a character
building experience. They did not ask for and that's why
I want to tell you about a little surprise in
our last trip to Orlando, and that was Lego Land

(17:41):
in winter Haven, and I'm telling you it was a
breath of fresh air. We found this place while looking
for a way to add fun without adding more chaos,
and it delivered. And if you have younger kids, especially
in that two to twelve range, Lego Land is the
kind of discovery that make you feel like you've cracked

(18:01):
a secret family travel code. I want to tell you
right away. The whole environment felt more manageable and not small,
not boring, but manageable, and when you're traveling with kids,
manageable is a luxury item. The lines were shorter, the
crowds were lighter, the pace felt human. Nobody looked like

(18:24):
they were preparing for an ultra marathon. I didn't feel
like I needed a tactical plan or three apps in
a backup battery just to buy lunch. That alone lower
distress level by a mile. We weren't spending half the
day standing in line while the kids dissolved into little
puddles of fatigue and emotion. We were actually moving and

(18:45):
playing and laughing and adjoining ourselves and here was the
real kicker. The value felt better too. I always look
at family experiences through that lens of let's call it
smiles per hour, in Lego Land scored high. My kids
actually got to be kids, and instead of staring at

(19:06):
screens or collapsing from boredom in line, they found building
stations and hands on spaces that kept their brains engaged.
They were using imagination and coordination and creativity, and this
is all good stuff. So from a developmental standpoint, I
loved it From a dad standpoint, I loved it even
more because we avoided the classic theme park meltdown theater.

(19:29):
And yes, I'll say it plainly, I had a blast too.
And that's important because parents count. You are not just
the pack mule with that credit card. If the adults
are miserable, the whole family feels it too, And at
Lego Land, we weren't just gritting our teeth and pretending
that this was fun for the scrap book. It was
genuinely fun. We also stayed at the Lego Land hotel,

(19:51):
and it turned out to be another smart move. The
setup made it life easier. The room layout gave the
kids their own space, and the sleep was better, the
break was included, and thankfully it wasn't just a fluorescent
sugar buffet trying to pass off as a convenience. And
that matters because nutritional planning on the road is one
of the most overlooked pieces of low strassificationing. And here's why.

(20:14):
Unstable blood sugar can turn a manageable day into a
circus in under twenty minutes. When families start the day
with syrup and pastries and juice and then they go
for hours without protein, fiber, or water or any real food,
everyone crashes, kids melt down, the parents feel foggy and irritable,
so decision making gets worse. So one of my strongest

(20:35):
travel trips tips is actually simple, plan your nutrition like it.
It matters because it does. Pack protein, bring electrolyte support,
keep nuts, fruit, jerky or cleaner snacks on hand. Hydrate
before you're thirsty. A well fed family is a more
emotionally stable family, if you will. That's not just parenting wisdom,

(20:56):
that's physiology. So let me leave you with my blueprint
for low stress vacationing. First, use a single location base
whenever possible, unpack just once, stay put. Every hotel hop
keeps that brain in a go mode. And second, build
in true rest days, days where when nobody is allowed
to look at the schedule, no alarms, no reservations, no chasing,

(21:19):
just rest as is not necessarily laziness. Rest is recovery.
And third, handle your nutrition on purpose, protein, hydration, minerals,
simple snacks, and less sugar chaos. Those three moves alone
can dramatically lower travel stress and protect the health benefits
of your trip because the goal is not to just

(21:39):
be on the go. The goal is to come back
feeling more like yourself. Protect your energy, protect your patients,
protect your summer, and take control of your vacation before
it takes control of you. All Right, folks, we're coming
up on a break. When we come back, we'll get
to our health mystery of the week. You're listening to
the Doctor Bob Martin Show.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Anybody's called fame mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Everybody needs to.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Leave the faith.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Monny taking yours money, you infus, Welcome back. You're tuned
into the Doctor Bob Martin Show, and I'm doctor Adam Brockman.
You're a copilot on this journey to vibrant living. Before
we jump back in today's conversation, here's your friendly reminder

(22:31):
to stay connected with us. I want you to follow
us on Instagram, Facebook, and we even have a YouTube channel,
and that's for your daily wellness tips, breaking health news
in a community that's as passionate about health as you are.
All you got to do is search for the Doctor
Bob Martin Show or Health Talk America and find us
on your favorite platform and join in the conversation. And remember,

(22:52):
if you've got pressing health questions, we're just a phone
call away at eight hundred six zero six eighty two
to two. That's eight hundred six zero six eight eight
to two to two. Okay. I want to tell you
something that this doctor, my entire family, in most of
my healthcare colleagues who are interested in avoiding tooth decay
or gingivitis, paradontal disease and bad breath use the Spray

(23:14):
dental defense system. And I'm here to tell you why.
If you want a spotless checkup to the dental provider,
here's what I do to be my own best dental
hygienist and dentist. Most of the time, I brush my
teeth with spry toothpaste. I rinse my mouth with Spry
mouth rents and I chew Spry gum. Spry comes in
delicious flavors including peppermint, cinnamon, and spearmint. In the secret sauce,

(23:38):
which is not really a secret anymore because of the
research in the science behind it is xylotol. It's used
by millions of Spry users. Xylotol. It's a plant based
ingredient in the Spray Dental Defense system. And again that's
their toothpaste, their mouth rents, their gum, and they're mints,
and xylotol is anti cavity, it's anti plaque, and it's

(23:58):
anti bad news. The next time your dentis peers into
your mouth and whispers, what have you been using your
teeth and gums? They look great? You can tell your
dentists that you have been using the Spray Dental Defense system.
And it's an easy and it's an inexpensive way to
have the benefits of xylotol throughout the day without needing
to change your habits. So if you want that squeaky

(24:20):
clean teeth gums in your breath, then use the Spray
Dental Defense system and Spray Dental Defense is available at CVS, Target,
Vitamin Shop, Sprouts in all natural grocers' locations everywhere where
you're already shopping. And for more information go to Clear
dot com. That's x l e ar dot com. You

(24:41):
can find out about Spry and Clear as well. Clear
the nasal sprays which you should try and have in
your wellness arsenal too. And again that's the spray dental
defense system in Clear nasal Sprays. Okay, it's time for
our natural grocer's health alternative of the week. Now. Usually

(25:19):
when people hear health alternative, they think of a new
supplement or real food that they should try that I'm
going to tell you about. But today I want to
talk about a fundamental shift in your environment. I want
to talk about where you spend your saturdays and where
your hard earned money goes every single week, and that's
the grocery store. And if you've been listening to me

(25:40):
for a while, you know I'm a dad doctor. I've
got the health degrees and the clinical experience, but I've
also got the chaotic reality of raising kids and trying
to keep a household running without losing my sanity. And
let's be honest, the modern supermarket is a minefield. It's
an absolute gauntlet of marketing traps, neon colored toxins in

(26:05):
food like products designed to hijack your brain chemistry. That's
why my health alternative of the week is a simple
strategic pivot, and that's making a dedicated family stop to
a natural grocer's grocery store. And most people, they don't
realize that where you shop is actually one of the
most significant health choices you can make. We focus on

(26:28):
the what, but the where determines the what is available.
And when you walk into a conventional big box grocery store,
you're stepping into a space where roughly eighty percent of
the itemans on the shelf, they're ultra processed. We're talking
about staggering levels of refined sugars, inflammatory seed oils, in

(26:49):
a literal rainbow of synthetic dyes that have no business
being in the human body. So, as a longevity expert,
I look at the grocery store and I see a
landscape of chronic inflammation. And when you buy conventional produce,
you're often just getting a side of glycasate in pesticides
that are devastating to our gut, microbiome and our hormonal balance.

(27:13):
And when you buy standard dairy, you're often consuming milk
from cows that have never seen a blade of grass.
It's exhausting, isn't it? And as a parent, you have
to be on high alert every second. You're playing defense
against big food marketing machine that puts the brightest, most
sugar laden boxes right at your child's eye level. So

(27:35):
why am I pointing you towards natural Grocers Because they
do the heavy lifting for you in a world where
labels are designed to deceive. Natural Grocers has set a
standard that is frankly unheard of in an industry. And
they've been doing this since nineteen fifty five, long before
organic was a buzzword or a marketing trend. And let's

(27:57):
talk about the one hundred percent rule. This is the
cornerstone of why this is our health altern Above the week,
at Natural Grocers, you will find one hundred percent organic produce, period,
No dirty conventional apples sitting next to the organic ones,
no confusing signage. If it's in the produce department, it's

(28:18):
organic at natural Grocers. And why does this matter for
your longevity? Because studies show that organic produce contains significantly
higher levels of antioxidants, the very compounds that protect yourselves
from oxidative stress and aging. Plus there you're going to
go ahead and cut out the chemical load that taxes

(28:38):
your liver and disrupts your indocrine system with those synthetic pesticides.
For a busy parent, the one hundred percent organic policy
means that you can breathe a sigh of relief. You
don't have to check a list and see what's on
the dirty dozen this year. You just put it in
your cart at natural Grocers. And I want to share
a personal antidote here. If you've ever taken kids to

(29:00):
a traditional grocery store, you know the no loop. Dad.
Can I have this cereal with a cartoon vampire? No Dad?
Can I have these neon blue fruit snacks? No? Dad?
What about the soda? No? No, no. It's a battle
of wills that leaves everyone frustrated. But when I take

(29:21):
my kids to natural grocers, the vibe changes because the
store has already been vetted to every single item, and
they've looked for artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hygenated oils,
so you can finally say yes. The health alternative here
isn't just about the nutrients. It's about the mental health

(29:42):
of the family. My kids can pick out a snack
and I know it's not going to be loaded with
red forty or high fruitose corn syrup. We're talking about
a yes zone. That shift is in the family dynamic
as well, where healthy choices are the only choices. It's
a game changer for long term lifestyle success. And we

(30:03):
often think of longevity as something we do at the
doctor's office or in the gym, but longevity is built
in the kitchen. It's built in the choices that we
make at four point thirty pm on a Tuesday when
we're tired and we just need to get dinner on
the table. And at Natural Grocers they even offer the
Good for You Meal Deal, which is a lifesaver for

(30:24):
families on a budget. You can get a full, healthy,
organic meal for a family of four at a price
that rivals fast food. That is how we fight back
against the health crisis in the country by making the
right choice, the easy and affordable choice. So there you
have it. Your health is your greatest asset, your family's
health is as well, and your grocery cart is your

(30:46):
primary insurance policy. Protect your longevity, Protect your kids development
and take control of what crosses that threshold. This has

Welcome back, doctor Adam Brockman here as we return to

(34:00):
Now let's get back into our conversation today with our
health outrage of the week. Jeez, come on each tub
for the health Bridge, because it's nothing, Bud. I want

(34:23):
you to imagine walking out your front porch on a
very hot July afternoon. You're holding a cold, sweating can
of diet coke. You look down at some stubborn crab
grass that's growing in your driveway, and instead of reaching
for round up, you crack the tab and you pour
the brown, bubbly liquid that is diet coke right onto

(34:46):
the weeds. Now, imagine watching the grass wither and die,
then turning to your neighbor and saying, hey, you see that.
If that can do that to the lawn, imagine what
it's doing to tumors. Sounds like a punchline from a
late night comedy skit, if you will, But this isn't
a joke. It's the latest entry into our health outrage

(35:10):
of the week. We are talking about a claim so
scientifically backwards that it has the entire medical community doing
a collective double take. And if you missed Doctor Bob
and I discussing this earlier on the show, it deserves
a double take of its own. That's why it is
this week's health outrage. And this is what it is.

(35:34):
Recently on Donald Trump Junior's podcast, Doctor Ozrey Canada story
about President Donald Trump. According to doctor Oz, Trump maintains
a unique health theory regarding this well documented love for
diet coke. In the theory, because diet coke is so

(35:54):
strong it can kill grass, it must effectively kill cancer
cells inside the human body. So I want to go
ahead and play this clip for you.

Speaker 5 (36:03):
He'll first start off with candy bars, that little candy jar,
he'll call it. He'll hit the red button, and then
comes the diet soda pops, which is your dad argues
that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass.
It's poured on grass, so therefore must kill cancer cells
inside the body. So he'll try to please I'm not
even going to argue this right now.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
You know.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
We were on Air Force one the other day and
I walk in there because he wants to talk about something,
and he's got an orange soft drink on his desk. Fanta, Yes,
that's what. I don't want to say that brand name
on the podcast. He's got a Fanta on the desk,
and I say, are you kidding me? So he starts
to take sheep persty grin. He goes, you know, this
sounds good for me. He kills cancerselves and then and
then he tells me it's fresh squeezed, so how.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Bad could it be for you? Okay, okay, but then
maybe he's onto something.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
Because I will say this, I know a lot of
guys pushing eighty and.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Yeah, I will give him. Maddie isn't in good shape
for eighty. But folks, I've heard some creative health in
my time. I've seen people try to cure back pain
with magnets and treat the flu with onions in their socks.
But this one takes the cake, or rather, it takes
the soda. So let's go ahead and uncover why this

(37:14):
logic is more than just a quirky antidote. It's a
dangerous piece of misinformation that could lead people away from
actual healthy practices. So let's start with this logic itself,
the idea that if X is killed by this, it
must be good to also kill Why that's a staggering
oversimplification of human biology. Yes, if you pour a highly acidic,

(37:39):
chemical laden liquid onto a plant, the plant is going
to have a bad day. Plants are sensitive pH changes
in certain concentrated salts. But the human body is not
a garden bed. So when you ingest diet coke, it
doesn't just float around your bloodstream looking for cancer cells
to burn like a weed killer. It goes through your

(38:01):
digestive track and interacts with your gut microbiome, and it
hits your liver. The strength of the chemicals doesn't translate
to a targeted strike against malignancy. And in fact, if
we follow the logic that things that kill things are
good for us, we'd be drinking battery, acid and bleached
to stay healthy. And please, please do not do that. Now,

(38:25):
let's pivot to the antidote that's actual science, because this
is where it gets troubling. While some claim diet coke
is a secret weapon against disease, the International Agency for
Cancer Research, which is part of the World Health Organization,
has a different take. In twenty twenty three, they officially
labeled the primary sweetener in diet coke as a possible carcinogen.

(38:50):
And now, before we panic, possible means that evidence is limited,
but it's certainly not non existent. When about eighty percent
of the modern diet is already filled with process junk,
adding another possible carcinogen under the guise of a being
a health food is an absolute outrage. So the irony
here is very thick. Promoting a substance that is literally

(39:14):
being study for a potential to cause cancer as a
cure for cancer is wild. That's why I do believe
this is President President Trump just joking on the matter matter.
So again, you know these are the things that you know.
Don't let that grass logic full you. Cancer prevention isn't
found in a vending machine. It's found in the daily

(39:35):
choices you make, eating whole food, manage your stress, and
keep your body moving. So I want to stick to
real water, keep your gut healthy, and for the love
of all things, keep the diet coke on your lawn
if you must, but keep it out of your bloodstream.
All right, folks, this has been your health outrage of
the week. We'll be right back. You're listening to the

(39:56):
Doctor Bob Martin show. Hi, it's doctor Adam Brockman. We
talk about health every week. When your joints hurt, everything hurts,
you lose that freedom to move and bend and stretch
and do the things you love. And that's why I

(40:16):
want to tell you about something truly special, and that's
APEX joint minerals. This isn't another gimmick or quick fix.
It's a mineral complex and it's inspired by a discovery
high in the Sierra Mountains, and it's minerals that your
body actually recognizes and uses to restore joint flexibility and comfort.
And what makes APEX Joint Minerals different is it's science

(40:38):
seeing what happens when people give their joints the nutrients
they've been missing and they get their life back. And
that's what I want for you. So if you're ready
to move freely again, go to Jointminerals dot com or

Speaker 5 (41:09):
I was told when I get old to alma eser strength,
but now I'm insecure and to caure what people.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
Thinks here, what do you think.

Speaker 6 (41:21):
We'll sweating time back time.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
Welcome back Doctor Adam Brockman here and you're tuned into
the Doctor Bob Martin Show. If you're loving our conversations today,
why not share that health wisdom. Tell a friend, a
family member, or a loved one to join us. Together
we can continue to build this community that's committed to
a better living. And also, doctor Bob and I are
here for your health questions at eight hundred six zero

(41:45):
six eight eight two two. Again, it's eight hundred six
zero six eight eight two to two, and we're here
with the final segment of our show. So let's go
ahead and get into it with our health mystery of
the week. This week, let's talk about Julie. Julie was
a thirty eight year old mother of two, a former

(42:05):
college athlete who pride to herself in staying fit. But
about three years ago, she developed this nagging, persistent cough.
It wasn't a cold cough, it was a dry, hacking
sound that showed up about every time she exerted herself.
She went to her primary care physician and they did
what most do. They gave her an inhaler and told

(42:26):
her that she had adult onset asthma. But the inhaler
didn't work. In fact, things got worse. For two years,
Julie lived in a state of constant air hunger. She
described it as trying to breathe through a tiny plastic
cocktail straw while trying to run a marathon. She couldn't
play tag with her kids. She couldn't walk upstairs without

(42:47):
pausing to catch her breath. She went back to the
clinic four times. One doctor told her it was anxiety.
Another said she was just out of shape and needed
to lose about ten pounds. So imagine that you're being
told that you're just it's lazy when you literally can't
breathe and you're suffocating. The turning point came when Julie
saw a nurse practitioner for a routine checkup. The NP

(43:09):
actually listened to the sound of Julie's breath. It wasn't
from a wheeze from the lines. It was a high
pitched strider coming from her neck, so she ordered a scope.
When the camera came down, the mystery was solved. Julie
had idiopathic subglottal stenosis. Her airway, which should have been
the size of a nickel, was narrowed by a thick

(43:32):
ring of scar tissue. It was about seventy five percent blocked.
She wasn't having an asthma attack. She was trying to
force life giving air through a hole the size of
a toothpick. So the lesson to hear is simple, don't
let your symptoms be dismissed. If you feel like you
can't breathe, it's just a cough or it's just stress.

(43:54):
Isn't a good enough answer, You know your body better
than any chart does. All right, so we're just about
out of time for today's show. I want to thank
you for joining me today. Remember your health is a
conversation and you are a participant. And if you miss
