Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio. I'm
Richard Grund. This is where you find the uncompromised read
letter basics of the Word of God. If that's what
you're looking for, you're in the right place. We focus
on the book of a church to see how they
serve the Lord so that we can find the church
(00:43):
the Lord intended and not the one Man created. The
Porch is a non denominational full Gospel approach to the Bible.
It's based on the examples from the Book of ax
Church and it aims to restore the priesthood of the
believer and read gain the world shaking influence that the
early Church had. The Church age isn't over. The Upper
(01:07):
Room experience is as much for today as it was
on the day of Pentecost. We will offer you the
Word as the apostles would have to the Jewish and
gentile believers of their day, using both Yeshua and Jesus
when speaking of the Lord. We prefer the term Messiah
(01:28):
rather than Christ, as it more accurately reflects how he
was referred to by those who knew him. And when necessary,
we will offer you the Hebrew, Greek, and aramaic definitions
of the words if it furthers the message. Getting back
to basics isn't just our motto. It's a mandate from
(01:49):
the Lord and we are committed to it. Links to

and your prayers. Thank you. Contact us if you need prayer.
We care about you. There are people that want to
pray for you. We always start out praise before we
do anything, because without that, there's nothing. We have to
praise him. We have to be thankful. I am thankful
for my salvation, and I praise Him from my home,
(02:56):
my wife, my family, son's daughter, in laws, grandchildren, furry kids.
Everything I have is from the Lord. I praise him
for provision and protection, for the dreams and the visions.
In accordance with Joel to twenty eight, I praise him
for divine health and healing. That his word and his
(03:19):
promises are yea and amen. Praise Him for abiding favor
that never fails, for the continuing revelation of the Holy Spirit,
and for making us new creations and allowing us to
live in these prophetic times and to serve him. Let's
pray some one twenty two, Verse six is pray for
(03:41):
the peace of Jerusalem and they prosper who love you.
I pray for Israel. I pray for Jerusalem. Pray for
my Jewish brothers and sisters and their leadership every day
that God's will be done. I pray the same thing
for America and our leaders, that God would forgive us
and shed his grace upon us. I pray for the
(04:03):
people right now in Iran and other countries that are
being persecuted. They're being martyred, they're being slaughtered because they
want justice and they want to be free from oppression.
I pray against the slaughter of the innocence both in
and out of the womb, for missing and exploited children,
for the victims of human sex trafficking, for the fatherless,
(04:27):
the widows, those that are oppressed. We have a calling
to pray for them, all of our brothers and sisters
around the world. And the growing religious persecution and anti Semitism,
which we know is the spirit of the Antichrist. Let's
pray against that. Let's stand against it. Pray for divine wholeness,
(04:52):
health and healing and me and you and everyone who
needs it. Seeing a lot of believers struggling right now
with health issue under attack. We're living in a war zone,
brothers and sisters, and we need to act accordingly. We
need to wake up, answer the call to action, do
what we have been told to do by the Lord,
(05:16):
and pray that he would bless those things with Kingdom finances.
So Father Abbah, Papa, thank you. Thank you for your love,
Thank you for your grace and your mercy. Thank you
for loving us even when we were unlovable. We didn't
(05:38):
deserve it, and you sent your Shure, your only begotten son,
to pay our debts so that we can be reconciled
to you. Thank you, Lord for doing that, shedding every
drop of blood, allowing them to do to you what
they did, so that you could be the Lamb of
(05:59):
God that takes away the sins of the world. Thank
you for sending back the Holy Spirit, the rowa kak
Kodesh to teach us, to guide us, to explain to
us what we need to know and when we need
to know it. So, Holy Spirit, we pray that you
(06:21):
would have your way, that you would do what is
you want to do, to stay on the porch. We
pray protection over the technology, and that this word would
go out and you would be glorified. Lord. And I
pray all these things in your shoe is name, and
if you agree with me, say amen.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Pentecost Sunday is coming gone. That's what this last Sunday
was Friday. The friday before was the actual biblical Pentecost.
Chavaute and parts of the early Church acknowledged it and
celebrated it on the Hebrew calendar until three twenty five,
a day which formalized all church celebrations exclusive of the
(07:44):
Hebrew calendar in any Hebrew influence. I don't know how
they did that, I know why they did it, but
it makes absolutely no sense because everything, everything was done
in accordance with that. The specific designation of Pentecost Sunday
is the day of celebration, became more formalized than the
(08:05):
church when instead of fifty days after Passover, it became
fifty days after the first Sunday, fifty days after Easter,
marking the culmination of the Easter season. The Church was
birthed by the power of the Holy Spirit on the
day of Pentecost, and it should have been treated with respect.
(08:26):
It shouldn't have been moved or manipulated by man. Pentecost
of the Jews Chavot is one of the three major
agricultural festivals, the second great feast of the Jewish year.
It's the harvest festival known as the Feast of Weeks.
The Feast of Weeks occurs seven weeks after Passover, commemorating
(08:48):
the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, as well
as the wheat harvest in Israel. It's one of the
three major pilgrimage festivals in Judaism, where all males are
required to attend. Pass Over, the feast of weeks in
the Feast of Tabernacles. You see it in Deuteronomy sixteen,
(09:09):
starting verse nine, you shall count seven weeks for yourself.
Begin to count to seven weeks from the time you
begin to put the sickle to the grain. Then you
shall keep the feast of weeks to the Lord your God,
with the tribute of a free will offering from your hand,
which you shall give as the Lord your God blesses
(09:32):
you again. In Exodus twenty three sixteen, the feast of
harvest the first fruits of your labors, which you have
sown in the field, and the feast of in gathering
at the end of the year, which you have gathered
in the fruit of your labors from the field. It's
a celebration of a harvest in the fields. And then
(09:54):
to the souls. On the day of Pentecost, you should
have presented the first fruits to the When he emptied
out shee al of the righteous dead who died waiting
for Messiah. He presented them as first fruits to the
Father in heaven. Then fifty days later the church offered
the first fruits of three thousand souls. So the significance
(10:18):
should always have been tied together, but it became overshadowed
by the Christian Church changing it to what they did
X two, verse one. When the day of Pentecost had
fully come, they were all with one accord in one place,
and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing,
(10:42):
mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they
were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as
of fire, and one sat upon each of them, And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began
to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Look at that line. There appeared to them divided tongues
(11:07):
as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
They each individually got touched by the Holy Spirit. Now
the Holy Spirit worked in the midst of mankind before
on the day of creation through the Old Testament prophets
al really we mentioned the giving of the Law a
(11:29):
Mount Sinai, and then of course in the ministry of Yeshua.
But now after this day, the Spirit would dwell in people,
not just come upon them, and his presence would be permanent,
not temporary. Reinderd Banki, in his book Taking Action, Receiving
and Operating in the Gifts and Power the Holy Spirit said,
(11:51):
the divided tongues of Holy Spirit fire are the assurance
that He is with us. Two of the greatest spiritual
crisises were inaugurated by divine fire, namely the Exodus and Pentecost.
Yet for the birth, life, and death and resurrection of
Asiah there was no fire. It was not needed. The
(12:15):
baptizer in fire was present in him, infinitely greater than
the fire, symbolizing his presence. So fire, you might say,
is his logo, and so much more. When Yeshu ascend
it to the right hand of God. The fire fell
on ordinary human beings. It enables us to witness for Yeshua,
(12:38):
to show him to be as he is. And any
fire now listen to his part. Any fire that does
not bring him meaning the Lord close and generate love
for him is not his fire. The promised Holy Spirit
is dedicated to the task of revealing the things of
(13:01):
Messiah to us. Where the fire is, there is yr shure,
there is Jesus, powerful, profound, and something we need to
grasp again. If you want to read a book about
the gifts of the Spirit, that book by Rhinard BANKI
(13:22):
taking action, receiving and operating in the gifts and power
the Holy Spirit should be on your list. John fourteen,
starting verse sixteen, said, I will pray the Father, and
he will give you another helper, that he may abide
with you forever, the Spirit of Truth, whom the world
(13:42):
cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, for he dwells with you and
will be in you. So on the day of Pentecost,
God gave his law, and Mount Sinai came with thundering
and lightning, was very dramatic, and he wrote the law
(14:04):
on stone tablets. On Pentecost, he sent down his Holy
Spirit like a rushing mighty wind that shook the building
that they were in. The people outside could hear it.
In tongues of fire, sat upon each disciple, and that
by his influence a new law of light and life
(14:28):
was written on their hearts that they could share and establish.
So much of his word indicates to us his desire
for intimacy, in connection Leviticus twenty six eleven and twelve.
I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul
(14:51):
shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and
be your God, and you shall be my people. Even
before they were free of the curse of sin and
death and all the aspects of the law, he wanted connection.
He wanted intimacy with them, But now he has it
(15:13):
with us individually. Paul says in two Corinthians six, starting
verse sixteen, what agreement has the temple of God with idols?
For you are the temple of the Living God. As
God has said, I will dwell in them and walk
among them. I will be their God, and they shall
be my people. Quoting Levinicus twenty six eleven and twelve,
(15:36):
he goes on verse seventeen to say, therefore, come out
from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do
not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you.
I will be a father to you, and you shall
be my sons and daughters. Says the Lord Almighty. You
(15:56):
shall be his sons and daughters. Again, connection, intimacy, family.
The purpose of Pentecost was the final phase of what
began on the cross the restoration of God with his creation,
(16:19):
and it is now a perpetual Pentecost until the final harvest.
Now to do that, to get to the final harvest,
to do everything needed to get to the final harvest,
he was going to need help, and he has chosen
us to help him. That's how special we are to him.
(16:43):
And nothing can interfere with or diffuse the fire except
sin or becoming unequally yoked. If we go back to
second Corinthian six and pick it up at verse fourteen
and carry the thought all the way through, and this
(17:04):
is the amplified you'll see what could diffuse the fire.
You can see why your behavior is so important. You
can see why your thoughts and what you say are
so important. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Do
not make mismatched alliances with them, or come under a
(17:25):
different yoke with them inconsistent with your faith. For what
partnership have right living and right standing with God with
iniquity and lawlessness? Or how could light have fellowship with darkness?
What harmony can there be between Messiah and Belial the devil?
(17:47):
Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
What agreement can there be between a temple of God
and idols. For we are the temple of the Living God.
Even as God said, I will dwell in them and
with and among them, and will walk in and with
(18:10):
and among them. I will be their God. They shall
be my people. So come out from among unbelievers and separate,
severing yourselves from them, says the Lord. To touch not
any unclean thing, and then I will receive you kindly
and treat you with favor. And picking it up on
(18:31):
chapters our seven of two Corinthians, just verse one. Therefore,
since these great promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse
ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit,
and bring our conson creation to completeness in the reverential
(18:56):
fear of God. You know when it comes, it's the sin,
when it comes to the things that defile us. I
understand bondage, especially if the enemy has gotten hold of us.
But there should be conviction. You should desire to be
pure and clean for him. It should be your heart's desire.
(19:20):
That's what Paul's telling The church be a holy people
filled with God's presence, his holy spirit, not the spirit
of the world. Not the spirit of the enemy, but
his Holy Spirit, and that's what happened in the Upper Room.
The Upper Room fire is a personal fire, and it
(19:42):
helps us do the work of the Kingdom in preparation
for the Final Fire. It's power, it's pouring out, its movement,
it's action. We are driven by the fire, the Holy
Spirit within us. And when it's there, we can openly
(20:04):
confess Yeshua as Messiah. And we can do it through
the power and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, because
it cannot be done in our natural hour, because fear
and worldly interference will shut us up. When you see
people on the streets in another country or even in
(20:25):
certain states here sharing the gospel talking about Yeshua and
being attacked or being arrested or losing everything, you should
know that they're doing it through the power and the
unction of the Holy Spirit. And we know that the
world hates it. That's why we need a supernatural partner
in this effort. You have to have it. You cannot
(20:49):
do anything without the presence of the Holy Spirit inside
of you. And once it's there, once you are filled,
once that fire is burning, we'll have an easier time
living the truth and avoiding hypocrisy. I mean, how can
we fear the world when we know the Holy Spirit
(21:09):
in us is from the Father. That's why I don't
fear the enemy. Many times I've told the enemy, what's
inside of me created you. I have the power of
the creator over the creation. Now do what you're told
in Jesus' name. That comes from faith, that comes from experience,
that comes from the word the Good Mark sixteen, starting
(21:34):
verse fifteen. You sure have says, go into all the
world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Are you
going to do that in the natural? Is that natural effort? No,
He who believes and his baptized will be saved. He
who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs
(21:55):
will follow those who believe in My name. They will
cast out demions, not just special individuals, not just people
that have been appointed, anointed and selected, anybody who believes.
They will speak with new tongues as a part of
the equation. They will take up serpents, meaning if you
(22:16):
are preaching the gospel or sharing the gospel, you're safe,
you're protected. And if they drink anything deadly, as if
somebody's trying to poison you and shut you up. It'll
by no means hurt them. They will lay hands on
the sick and they will recover. There is manifestation to
(22:40):
the presence of the Holy Spirit in us when we're
doing kingdom business. Now. You can't sell this, You can't
tap it and bottle it. You can't pick and choose
who gets it and who doesn't. Holy Spirit does what
he wants when he wants, the way he wants. This
(23:01):
gift of the Holy Spirit that the Lord talked about
in John fourteen, fifteen and sixteen, it was meant to
be in us forever, and we will called to use,
we will call to live it. His purpose is to
help us John fourteen, starting verse twenty six. But the helper,
(23:21):
the Paracletos, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in my name. He will teach you all things and
bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace.
I leave with you My peace. I give to you,
not as the world gives to you. Do I give you.
Let not your heart be troubled, and neither let it
(23:43):
be afraid who sent it the Father. As soon as
you show us sat down at the right hand of
the Father, the Spirit is sent the comforter, the counselor,
the helper, the intercessor, the advocate, the strengthener, the stand
by the Holy Spirit. The Father sends in his name
in his place to represent him and act upon his behalf.
(24:07):
Will teach us all things, he will cause us to recall.
He will remind us and bring to remembrance everything that
the Lord said. And if you look at that next verse,
verse twenty seven, peace I leave with you my own peace,
(24:30):
not just any peace, not just not worldly peace, not
religious peace, but his peace, my own peace, I now
give you and bequeath to you. That's how special, that's
how treasured. It is. Not as the world gives, do
I give you. Do not let your hearts be troubled,
neither let them be afraid. Stop allowing yourselves to be
(24:53):
agitated and disturbed. Do not permit yourselves to be fearful
and intimidate and cowardly and unsettled. Why were they feeling
that because he was leaving. They'd walked every day with
him for three years, They'd seen everything, They felt safe
with him around. Well, now he's going to be gone,
(25:16):
But in his place, he's sending something powerful to walk
with them and to walk with us. The Spirit will
teach everything, not just some things. He will recall all
of you She's words and then clarify their meaning to us.
(25:38):
And we see that in John two twenty two when
John says, Therefore, when he had risen from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said to them, said
this to them, and they believed the scripture and the
word which Jesus had said. As John's writing, the Holy
Spirit's been reminding him, bringing things to the forefront. We
(26:04):
experience this work of the spirit when we read the scriptures.
And when the spirit inside of us enlightens, it expands,
it magnifies it so that we can grasp it. You
see how important the Holy Spirit is. You can't do
(26:25):
this without them. You can't understand this word without it.
That's why the you know, unsay people give them a
Bible that's all well and good, but it's only by
the Holy Spirit can they understand what they're reading. The
Vines Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words. That
word comforter power Claytos called the one side one's aid.
(26:49):
It suggests the capability or adaptability forgiving aid means you
not alone, call to your side for help, for counsel.
Stop looking to man for your answers, and look to
(27:11):
the Holy Spirit. It's the presence of Yeshia on the
earth with us as he sits in heaven. So the
Spirit is our helper on earth, and Messiah is our
helper and our advocate in heaven. We are connected directly
to the Lord in the throne room through the Holy Spirit,
(27:36):
perpetual connection. That what's the word I'm looking for here
to get you to understand this. I know, remember when
we were kids, we did that thing with the can
and the string and you stretch it out. One person
(27:57):
talk on one end and the other person and on
the other one would hear it, and they could do
it kind of like a walkie talkie, but with the string.
It's a crude example of the fact that your shoe
is in heaven. He's on the throne, but through his
Holy Spirit, he's connected to us that we can hear him,
we can feel him, and there's nothing that can cut
(28:20):
the string. And you can't get in trouble for using
it in class and be made to stay after school
and have to write one hundred times and not that
ever happened to me. But and the spirit proceeds from
the Father, it's been discharged. It emanates from the Father
to us again perpetual connection and communication, which what keeps
(28:49):
us connected, empowered and informed. Now, what about this piece
he's given us? And why if so many people have
no peace, why are they so intimidated and fearful and
unsettled because they've allowed their hearts to be troubled, They've
allowed fear to fill their heart. We have to consciously
(29:15):
stop allowing ourselves to be agitated and disturbed by our
circumstances and allowing the enemy, that's spirit of fear, to
get into our heart. Because the lord we serve is
the Prince of Peace Isaiah nine. For unto us a
(29:35):
child is born, unto us, a son is given, and
the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name
will be called wonderful counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince
of Peace Zechariah chapter nine, second half of verse ten.
(30:00):
And he shall speak peace to the nations. His dominion
shall be from sea to sea, and from from the
river to the ends of the earth. Oh, who is he?
We have to jump back of versen Zechariah n Rejoice greatly,
(30:23):
O daughter of Zion, Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold,
your king is coming to you. He is just and
having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a cult,
the foal of a donkey. He is salvation. His name
(30:44):
is Salvation, the Lord I and I brought salvation with
him and empowered his church to do the same on
his behalf. How through the Holy Spirit John fourteen, verse twelve.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me,
(31:06):
the works that I do, he will do also, And
greater works than these he will do. Because I go
to my Father, and whatever you ask in my name
that I will do. That the Father may be glorified
in the Son. If you ask anything in my name,
I will do it. Now, of course, what you're asking
(31:29):
lines up with his word and his will. But we
see this in Acts chapter three and four when Peter
and John are going to the temple and they heal
the lame man at the gate. Beautiful. Now, we don't
have to go into the whole thing. We're just going
to kind of glance over it. But the emphasis and
(31:50):
Acts three and four in this encounter is the name
of the Lord, Acts three six, and Peter says, speaking
of the delay man, silver and gold, I do not have.
For what I do have, I give you in the
name of Jesus, the Messiah of Nazareth, Rise up and walk.
(32:13):
The crowd forms beca is in this man that was
lame since birth? What's Peter dow? He takes the opportunity
to tell him the truth, picking up Acts three and
verse fourteen. You denied the Holy One and the Just
and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, Barabbas,
and killed the Prince of Life, whom God raised from
(32:36):
the dead, of which we are witnesses, and his name,
through faith in his name has made this man strong,
whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes
through him has given him this perfect soundness. In the
presence of you all. We're witnesses. We've seen this, and
(33:02):
we have the boldness and the strength and the courage
to tell you the truth. You killed the Prince of Life,
and his name made this man whole. Of course, they
get some in trouble, They get arrested, the rulers and
the elders and the scribes, and it's the High priest Caiaphas,
(33:25):
John and Alexander as many were the family of the
high priests are gathered together in Jerusalem, Acts four, Versus
five and seven. And what do they want to know?
They don't want to say, oh, this is wonderful, this
man's walking. No, by what power? Well? By what name
have you done this?
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Power?
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Dunamus force? Miraculous self replicating ability? And the name is
more than just identification. They want to know what authority
have you done this with? Whose reputation and power have
you done this by? Why would they ask them that? Well,
(34:12):
because the council was convinced they had performed a miracle,
but might have been done by demons or familiar spirits,
And they were hoping by examining them they could prove
them guilty and sentence them to death in accordance with
Leviticus twenty verse twenty seven. And they set the men
(34:34):
in their miss that's fourth starting verse seven. We'll have
to pick it up. And they set the men Peter
and John in their myst and repeatedly demanded, by what
sort of power? About what kind of authority did such
people as you do this healing? And then Peter, because
he was filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit.
(34:54):
Said to them, rulers of the people and members of
the Council of the Sanhedrin, if we are being put
on trial here to day and examined concerning a good
deed done to benefit a feeble, helpless cripple, by what
means this man has been restored to health. Let it
be known and understood by all of you and by
(35:18):
the whole house of Israel, that in the name and
through the power and authority of Jesus, the Messiah of Nazareth,
whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead in
him by means of him, this man is standing before
you and sound in body. This Jesus, this is shure,
(35:43):
is the stone which was despised and rejected by you,
the builders, but which has become the head of the
corner stone. And there is salvation in and through no
one else, For there is no other name under Heaven
given among men by which we might be saved. Now.
(36:11):
When they saw the boldness and eloquence of Peter and John,
and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools,
they were just common men with no educational advantages. They marveled,
and they recognized that they had been with Yashua. All
(36:31):
of that was because of the Day of Pentecost. All
of that was because of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
To be that bold, to be that forthright to say
what was said that could not be refuted. They did
not hesitate to declare that by the name and authority
(36:56):
of Yshiah Hamashiak Jesus, the Messiah of Nazareth, that this
man was healed. And look at this bold statement of
Acts four to twelve. We use the scripture, but we
forget where it was spoken. It was spoken in a
situation where they could be flogged, they could be put
(37:19):
in jail. Who knows what could happen. Peter boldly says,
there is salvation in no other name, For there is
no other name under heaven given among men by which
we must be saved, No other name but the name
(37:40):
of Jesus. No other name can save us. That takes power,
that takes faith, that comes from the fire of the
Holy Spirit. To stand up and say that the prophets
had that Jeremiah twenty verse nine, And I said, I
will not make mention of him, nor speak anymore in
(38:03):
his name. But his word was in my heart like
what like a burning fire shut up in my bones.
I was weary of holding him back, and I could not.
In Peter's case, the fire of the spirit could not
be held back. It's propelled out from the inside of us. Faith.
(38:25):
This kind of faith comes from the fire, fire filled
faith in action. That's what makes this so important. Now,
that's what makes the Day of Pentecost so important. That's
why I mention it each week. I remind anyone that's listening,
(38:47):
either for the first time or the hundredth time, that
the Day of Pentecost is still in effect. The fire
is still there if you want it, because you need it,
and if you could ever get to the place of
letting go of everything that hinders you and just realize,
(39:08):
I have to have this Isaiah fifty two, verse seven,
How beautiful upon the mountains, on the feet of him
who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad
tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says, desion,
(39:31):
Your God reigns the good News, the Gospel. They were
propelled the early Church, the Book of Acts Church, all
the way up until the Council of Nicea put a
dagger in the heart of the church and put it
in chains and made it into a religious institution. They
(39:53):
were on fire to go tell the world about Jesus.
They were on fire to get people's saved, healed and delivered.
And the fire didn't go out quickly. They began to
smother it, began to smother it with the rules, and
began to smother it with this thing and that thing.
And they began to do exactly what the Pharisees and
(40:16):
the Sadducees had done to the Spirit of God, buried
it in laws and rules and regulations. It made it
difficult for people to get through the all of that
to get to God. But that fire could burn all
that up if you want it. If you're tired of religion,
(40:37):
just pray for the Holy Spirit burn it off of you.
If you're tired of all the things that have been
put upon you, the false teachings, the things that you
accepted and believed, the Holy Spirit can burn them off
of you. If you're tired of the bondages and the
sins which so easily beset you, the Holy Spirit can
(40:59):
burn it off of you. See, the Lord knew how
difficult it was going to be. That's why his parting
encouragement was to not be troubled or fearful. Pretty much
the same thing Moses said when he was giving his
(41:20):
parting words. Moses, look what he said, you'd around me
thirty one verse six. Be strong and of good courage.
Do not fear nor be afraid of them. For the
Lord your God, he is the one who goes with you.
He will not leave you nor forsake you. Then Moses
(41:40):
called Joshua and said to him, in the sight of
all of Israel, be strong and of good courage, For
you must go with his people to the land which
the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them,
and you shall cause them to inherit it. And the Lord,
he is the one who goes before you. He will
be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
(42:04):
Do not fear nor be dismayed. Sounds pretty familiar, doesn't it.
I will not leave you nor forsake you. And who
are Peter and John in front of the very religious
leaders that unlawfully by their law, condemned the Lord to
(42:30):
death on the cross. And I love the fact that
Peter's spirit filled speech elicits such amazement, kind of like
what the crowd experienced when they saw the crippled beggar
walking and jumping and all of a sudden his legs,
which are withered or not. Peter's spirit endowed courage empowers
(42:54):
him to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth,
and in one swift turn, he turns his judges into defendants.
What's going on right now in your life that you
need that reassurance that He's with you. Have you allowed
(43:15):
the cares of this world and the attacks of the
enemy to get your eyes off of the Lord and
out of the Word. Have you allowed the enemy to
wrap you up in some kind of bondage and take
away your freedom? Well, you need the Holy Spirit, because
according to two Corinthians three seventeen, the Lord is the
(43:38):
spirit capitalists. And where the spirit of the Lord is,
there is what. There is liberty, There is emancipation from
bondage and freedom. You are no longer subject to the enemy,
you are no longer subject to the power of the
kingdom of darkness. You're free. And whom the sun sets
(44:02):
free is free. Indeed, you know when you begin to
grasp this, when you begin to take all this in.
When you begin to see all the facets of all
of this knowledge, first of all, you should get excited.
I know I do. But then you begin to understand
(44:24):
that declaration He made in Nazareth, which comes out of
Isaiah sixty one, and I'll share it from there. The
spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the
Lord has anointed me and qualified me to preach the
gospel of good things to the meek, the poor, and afflicted.
(44:47):
He has set me to bind up and heal the
broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the physical and spiritual captives,
and the opening of the prison and of the eyes
of those who are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year
of the Lord, theyrvis favor jubilee in the day of
(45:07):
vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. It
was Isaiah sixty one, Verses one and two. They amplified.
That's the statement. That's the mission statement of the Lord.
That should be the mission statement of the church. Setting
(45:29):
the captives free, healing them, healing the broken hearted, setting
telling them liberty, liberty, liberty, You're set free. The prison
doors are open. That's what we have been anointed and
qualified to do. Where's the fire, where's the passion? Where
(45:56):
where's that feeling of when you see somebody bound or
you say, see what the enemy's doing, it doesn't rile
you up inside. And you know what's funny about Peter
and John's confrontation, and even on the Day of Pentecost,
the things Peter said, if you remember in Luke twenty
(46:19):
three point thirty four, is shoe is while he's on
the cross, his father forgive them. They know not what
they do. And God did he answer their prayers. And
instead of sending judgment, he sent the Holy Spirit to
empower his church and to convict the lost sinner. The
(46:39):
fire of judgment will come at the end when they've
run out of time. And that's what Peter's doing. He's
inviting these murderers to flee by faith to Yeshiah, to
Jesus the Messiah, and find refuge in him. He announces
their crime, resents the evidence, he explains the nature of
(47:03):
their sin. But then he offers them a way out.
He offers them a pardon. A pardon. This is on
the Day of Pentecost, Acts chapter three, starting verse nineteen.
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, so that the times of refreshing may come
(47:24):
from the presence of the Lord, and that he may
send Jesus Messiah, who was preached to you before, whom
Heaven must receive. Until the times of the restoration of
all things receive the Lord be saved from this perverse generation.
He's pleading with them. He's not saying you're damned, You're
(47:46):
going to hell, You're going to burn in the fire. No,
there's a way out. He went from prosecuting attorney to
defense attorney and then offers him a pardon because he
had a burden. He had a burden to encourage his people,
his Jewish brothers and sisters, to trust Messiah and experience
(48:11):
the gracious salvation that comes from knowing him. Let's get real.
People don't want condemnation. I know I didn't want I
was demonically bound and caught up in my sense. All
condemnation did was fuel the demons inside of me. It
made them right in my eyes. Truth is, we all
(48:34):
want liberation and freedom. We want the spirit of liberty
that comes from the spirit of the Lord. Where the
spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, emancipation from bondage,
there's freedom. That's what I felt on that day I
got saved. That's what I've seen other people feel on
(48:58):
the day they get saved, and then they get healed
and they get delivered. And that's the way to reach
the masses by helping one sinner. That Peter and John,
they won the crippled beggar at the Gay Beautiful and
what happened is transformed life led to the conversion of
(49:19):
two thousand and that was the only reason they didn't
do more to them than flog them and put them
in jail, because there were two thousand people who witnessed
the miracle and got saved. If we're going to serve
the Lord, this isn't about personal work or personal glory
(49:44):
when your name on the banner. It's about working with
individual sinners. And if you can't do that, he's not
going to give you more than that. He's not going
to let you minister to if he's afraid that you
can't see the individual you shoe and the apostles. They
(50:08):
took time for individuals. There was an evangelist Methodist preacher
named Samuel Chadwick, and when he went out to do
his evangelistic ministries, he always prayed for a Lazarus in
every campaign, some great sinner whose conversion would shock the community.
(50:29):
And of course he got that from John chapter twelve
and the resurrection of Lazarus. And God answered his prayers
and meeting after meeting, and what would happen is the
most notorious wicked man would come trust in the Lord,
(50:50):
get saved, and everyone would witness their changed and transformed life.
And I know it works because after I got saved,
healed and delivered, it shocked people. So as his church,
we should go after the hard cases and just see
(51:10):
what God can do. We shouldn't shy away from it.
And understand this. I'm not gonna hold back here and
butter this up or sugar coat it. Whenever God does this,
whenever God blesses an effort like that, you can expect
(51:31):
hascaitan Satan, the fallen to show up to oppose the
work and silence the witness. And he'll use religious people
to do it. The same crowd that opposed the ministry
of yashoe Off opposed the work of the Apostles, and
they will oppose our efforts today. Oh boy, I can
(51:53):
tell you stories about that, and I haven't told you
everything the attacks of the real religious people in the church.
Who who's this guy, this New York street guy. Why
is he preaching the gospel? Why is he laying hands
on people? And why is he in charge of a
(52:13):
deliverance ministry of a major Pentecostal church in this area.
He has no business doing that. Well, it didn't matter
that the success was there, didn't matter if people were
getting saved here and delivered, didn't matter that Pastor Shelley,
the authority there had decided it. They didn't like it.
I didn't fit their mold. The important thing is not
(52:37):
only should we expect it, we shouldn't let it stop us.
Don't get comfortable. Understand, if you're going to glorify the
name of the Lord and preach the gospel, the enemy
is going to push back. And he has blessed us,
He has promised to bless and use his words to
(53:00):
be a faithful witness. Look at what he prayed in
John seventeen twenty, and this is the amplified He's praying
to the Father, and he says here in this verse,
neither for these alone do I pray. It is not
for their sake, only that I've made this request, but
also for all those who will ever come to believe
(53:22):
in me through their word and teaching. He's praying for us.
We have every reason to be encouraged. We have no
reason to be afraid or to be fearful, because there
(53:43):
is our in the name of Issue, in the name
of Jesus. So we need not fear to witness and
call sinners to repent. We do it in love now
condemnation to set the captives free. And we have the
(54:05):
right and the authority to pray in His name. Most assuredly,
I say to you, he who believes in me, the
works that I do, he or she will also do,
and greater works than these he will do because I
go to my Father because of the Holy Spirit John
(54:29):
sixteen twenty three. And in that day you will ask
me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you
ask the Father in my name, he will give you.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name, ask
and you will receive that your joy may be full.
So when we come to the Father for something in
(54:50):
the name of Jesus the Messiah and the name of
your shoe, I'm a se up. It's as though the Lord,
were askedking it of the Father. We're asking in his name,
we're asking in his authority. We're asking with his permission
to the Father. Now, if we were, if we, if
(55:13):
we oh hallelujah, look, if we would remember this, it
would help us to keep us from asking things that
are unworthy of His name, because it's through the power
of the Holy h O l Y Spirit that we
(55:34):
ask it. If she had talked about this kind of prayer,
he gave an example for us with his own life,
and the way we live out that prayerful life is
by the fire of the Holy Spirit, churned up and hot.
(55:55):
You keep it fed with the word and pray. And
when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and
perceived that they were uneducated, untrained, they marveled and realized
they'd been with Jesus, and seeing the man that had
been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
(56:19):
How did they do it? Because they had no fear.
We should have no fear, we should have no hesitancy
Psalm fifty six, verses three and four. Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You, in God, I will praise
his word. In God. I have put my trust. I
(56:40):
will not fear. What can flesh do to me Isaiah
forty one ten. Fear not, for I am with you.
Be not dismayed, For I am your God. I will
strengthen you, and I will help you. I will uphold
you with my righteous right hand. Remember what he said,
(57:04):
he will never leave you, and will live with you
and be in you in John fourteen. It doesn't fade,
it doesn't go away. It's forever, constantly with us and
in us. That's why he sent the Holy Spirit on
(57:27):
the day of Pentecost to guide us to speak for
him through us. And we need that now more than ever.
Shadrach meshek in a bed and no Goo had faith
in the fire. The church gets faith from the fire.
(57:48):
The fire the Holy Spirit a driving force that enables
us to overcome fear and boldly proclaim the Gospel, no
matter what the opposition is. It gives us the faith
to do that, deliver redeemed life, and to do all
that needs to be done in this hour. So Father
(58:12):
Abah Papa, thank you for sending back the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for allowing it to fill us so that
you could be with us, that you could walk amongst
us that you could be our Abba and we could
be your child. Thank you for the cross, the blood
(58:34):
that was shed to wash us clean. Thank you for
the empty tomb, which proves we have a resurrected Messiah,
a savior. And thank you for the upper room that
allows us to be lights in this darkness, to show
(58:55):
people the way, to destroy the work of the enemy,
to set the captives free, and to prepare the way
so that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
will come back again. Lord, thank you. I have no words,
(59:22):
no words Lord, for this gift, this precious, glorious, wonderful
gift of your holy Spirit. I pray that my brothers
and sisters would embrace it, would receive it and use
(59:42):
it in your shoest name. Amen. May the Lord bless
you and keep you. May the Lord make his face
to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May
the Lord, I don't know you, sue a hamashiak Jesus
(01:00:03):
the Messiah, lift up his countenance upon you and give
you peace. Give you a shallow I'm Richard Grund. This
has been the porch on Firefall Talk Radio.
