from the Lord. I praise him that I've made another
year around the sun, eyes open, heart, beating legs moving,
blessed beyond measure, by the King of Kings and Lord

tells me to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May

for Jerusalem. I pray for a Jewish brothers and sisters.
Each and every day. Pray for America. For God to
shed his grace upon us, to heal us, forgive us,
and to use us. Pray for all the people in
the Middle East that are suffering under oppressive, demonically empowered regimes.

I pray that they would be brought to safety, and
I pray for their salvation. Pray for the fatherless, the widows,
the persecuted and the martyr, the poor and spirit the bound,
the oppressed, and those that are victims of injustice. I
pray against the slaughter of the innocentce poth in and
out of the womb, for missing and exploited children, for

those that are victims of human sex, trafficking, diabolical satanic
endeavor that is the scourge of humanity. Pray for our
brothers and sisters around the world being slaughtered and persecuted
for their faith in Jeshua, their homes destroyed, their places
of worship destroyed. I pray against that growing religious persecution,

not just against the Church, but against the Jews, the
anti Semitism which we know all of that is the
effort of the spirit of the Antichrist, which we must
stand against in prayer. Pray for divine wholeness, health and
healing in me and you and for everyone that needs it,
that we get back to our divine design. Pray for

His protection his inspiration over this technology, over us, over
our homes, our lands, our families, our pets, our possessions,
that his Psalm ninety one covering would be honest, that
He would be a shield about us, the glory and
the lifter of our head. That the fire of the
Holy Spirit would stir up inside of us to wake
us up to answer the call to action, to do

what he needs us to do in this hour. I
pray for the open doors, for all the projects that
he's given and all the plans and the finances needed,
and I hope that you'll come into agreement with me

All right, let's get those bibles, open those apps. However
you take notes, however you follow along. I'm thankful this
week that we got the microphone situation straightened out. And
if you listened last week, there was two versions put up.
The first version the sound was awful in my opinion,

But I'm thankful that the microphone is working this week.
Last week I read you with a quote from C. S.
Lewis that I want to build off of. This is
what he said, enemy occupied territory. That is what the
(08:47):
world is. Christianity is the story of how the Rightful
King has landed in disguise and is calling us all
to take part in a great campaign of sabotage, sabotage
against the God of this world, against the powers of darkness,
setting the captives free, tearing down strongholds. And that's why
(09:13):
we've been talking about praying in the spirit at all
times and on every occasion. Stay alert, be persistent in
your prayers for all believers everywhere. At the end of
Ephesians six teaching on the Armor of God, I believe
that prayer is vital in this hour. With all prayer
(09:35):
and petition, we are to pray with specific requests at
all times, on every occasion, and in every season, in
the spirit, through the Spirit. With this in view, stay alert,
brothers and sisters, with all perseverance and petition, interceding in
(09:55):
prayer for all of God's people, all the saints, all
the born again believers. Pray for them. So what do
we call to do? Pray? Prayer is one of the
activities that make us unique among all of God's creatures.

Prayer allows us to interact with Him, our Creator, our redeemer,
the animals and the plant life. As far as I know,
they cannot pray. I'm sure at some point when we
get to heaven, I'll find out if I'm right in
that regard. But I believe that prayer is the highest
form of human spiritual activity. The Baker Encyclopedia of the
(10:43):
Bible says a classic definition of Christian prayer is quote
an offering up of our desires unto God for things
agreeable to His will in the name of They say Christ,
I say Messiah, with confession of our sins and thankful
acknowledgment of His mercies. When we do that, we enter
(11:08):
into God's presence, and we present first our thanks and
then we offer our humble request. That's why you always
go into His presence with thanksgiving. And I believe when
we do that, he hears us and he answers us,
and it may not be the answer we want, but
(11:30):
it will be the best for us. So with prayer,
you and I can enter into God's presence. We can
present our needs, our desires, our requests, whatever they are
in His will according to his word. His promise is
(11:52):
to hear us and to answer. We see that next twelve,
starting verse five, Peter was therefore kept in prison but
constant prayer. That's right there in verse five. Highlight it
constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
When Herod was about to bring him out that night,
(12:14):
Peter was sleeping bound with two chains between two soldiers
and guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold,
an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a
light shone in the prison, and he struck Peter on
the side, raised him up, saying, arise quickly, and his
(12:35):
chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him,
gird yourself and tie on your sandals, and so he did,
and he said to him, put on your garment and
follow me. So he went out and followed him, and
did not know that what was done by the angel
was real, but he thought he was seeing in a vision.
(12:56):
And when they were passed the first and second guard
post host they came to the iron gate that leads
to the city, which opened to them of its own accord.
And they went out and went down the street, and
immediately the angel departed from him. Look of all the
things that answered prayer brought to Peter got him past
(13:21):
the guards, took the chains off multiple gates that opened
by themselves, and he was set free. Fervent and persistent
prayer for him was being made to God by the church.
Where is that kind of prayer today? Oh, I know
(13:44):
some people do it. I know I do it. I
know my brother Larry does it. Where's the kind of
prayer that opens prison doors? Where's the kind of prayer
that causes miracles that defy explanation? We need it first.
Thessalonians five, starting verse sixteen, the amplified version says, rejoice
(14:09):
always and delight in your faith. Be unceasing and persistent
in prayer in every situation, no matter what the circumstances.
Be thankful and continually give thanks to God, for this
is the will of God for you. In Messiah is Suah,
(14:29):
we are commanded always to pray for everything and about everything,
because prayer is our lifeline to the throne room. So
you enter by saying, Lord, I thank you, I thank
you for my salvation, I thank you for my home,
thank you for my family. I thank you for loving me.
I thank you for allowing me to do this. You
(14:52):
praise him, then you go to him in petition. In
prayer is our connection to the heart and mind of God,
an interaction based upon relationship and not ritual a relationship
(15:12):
based upon love and not compulsion. I know some people
get into the repetitive prayer thing, and I don't believe
that makes their prayers any more effective than anyone else.
And I actually wonder if it's an annoyance to God,
the repetitive, ritualistic prayer that's not coming from the heart,
(15:33):
it's only coming from the lips. The Home and Bible
Dictionary says prayer is a dialogue between God and people,
especially his covenant partners. Well, the new covenant, the one
you sure gave us, allows you direct access to Him
in the Throne room. In the Bible prayers. It is
(15:55):
simple and it's complex. It's narrow and it's wide, and
it's everything we needed to be. It's supplication for the benefits,
either for ourselves a petition, or for others intercession. In
the latter, it's an act of worship which covers all
the attitudes of the soul in its approach to God.
(16:19):
So if you're praying for yourself, it's a petition. If
you're praying for others, it's intercession. Supplication is at the
heart of it. For prayer always springs out of a
sense of need and a belief that God is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him Hebrews eleven six.
(16:43):
But adoration and confession and thanksgiving fit in all of it,
so that we while we're praying, we become a worshiper.
This kind of prayer that I'm talking to you about
keeps you strong and prepared for every no matter what
it is, no matter what the enemy does, no matter
what the world does. If you are locked in prayer,
(17:06):
praying always, then you're always ready for whatever happens. Someone
once said, don't make prayer monologue, make it a conversation,
and kind of ties into what Billy Graham said, Prayer
is simply a two way conversation between you and God.
Prayer isn't a last resort, It's the first step to peace.
(17:31):
Do you pray first thing in the morning, last thing
at night, sometime during the day. Do you pray all day?
Do you pray on all occasions? What is your prayer
life like? I'm asking you that right now. You can
write it down, You can make a note to yourself.
You can even ask yourself, what is my prayer life like?
(17:52):
And be honest, are you praying as much as you should.
To a believer born again believer, prayer is a way
of life. It turns your entire life into a prayer machine,
not simply for yourself, but for all believers everywhere, every
day and all the time. Today's my pool workout day,
(18:16):
where I tread water and I swim laps, and I
do everything you know that I do to stay healthy.
I spend the entire thirty minutes praying, seeking God's will,
hearing his voice, asking him questions, interceding. There was also
(18:39):
a tradition in the Bible we see of prayer at
the midday, the sixth hour Daniel, chapter six, verse ten. Now,
when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he went
into his house on his roof towards Jerusalem, facing toward Jerusalem,
and he continued to get down on his knees three
(19:02):
times a day, praying and giving thanks before God as
he had been doing previously. So even in captivity, he's
praying every three hours. So Paul telling us pray at
all times. Jesus shoe was telling us pray at all times.
But they were praying three times a day. How about
to start there? Can you do that? I remember Christian
(19:23):
heritage Pastor Shelley putting that out. You know, let's get up.
Let's do this. Nine o'clock, twelve o'clock, three o'clock, six o'clock,
nine o'clock. Maybe you go to bed, maybe you're still
up pray. You know what, people couldn't do it. They
couldn't keep it up. I said, Ah, the heck with it.
(19:43):
I'm just going to pray all the time. We see
in Acts ten, chapter nine, when those that were sent
by Cornelius were on their way and we're approaching the city,
Peter was already up on the roof of the house
about the sixth hour, which is noon, praying. He was
ready to receive a word. He was ready to receive
(20:04):
from the Holy Spirit what he wanted done for Cornelius
and his household. Back then, they kept the roofs flat
and could access them by an outside stairway to go
up and pray, and they would face towards Jerusalem. I
can do that. I have one of those apps that
(20:25):
tells me where Jerusalem is. If I move, it tells
me where it is. I can stand on my pool
deck and face in that direction. But I don't need to.
I just look up. I pray to my father. I
pray to the Lord. But I have that opportunity. You
have that opportunity. David understood prayer. Sitting out there with
(20:46):
the sheep and the flock, late at night, all by himself,
he prayed. That's why he was a man after God's
own heart, Psalm fifty five, Verses sixteen and seventeen. But
as for me, I will call upon God and the
Lord shall save me evening and morning, and at noon
(21:09):
I will pray and cry aloud, and He shall hear
my voice jumping down in verse twenty two, cast your
burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you. He
shall never permit the righteous to be moved. So we're
praying always, general prayers, specific petitions, all done in the spirit,
(21:35):
for all believers on all occasions, no matter what we
are having. Perseverance and patience in prayer. Perseverance and patience
are essential to prayer. Write it down, set it on
your smart watcher, whatever you got up time to pray.
(21:59):
If you can't do it, if you one of those
people that just cannot keep the schedule, make a note.
Listen to me, and I know you're listening to me,
but this is my way of telling you what I'm
about to say. I believe it's important. We have got
to learn how to pray more. We have got to
(22:20):
learn how to pray in power. We've got to learn
how to tear down the strongholds in prayer, how to
rescue our sons and our daughters and our loved ones
from the fire. This is the hour, this is the day.
This is the time that as His body, as His people,
(22:42):
we join together in prayer against the enemy, against what
the spirit of the Antichrist is doing, against what Hociton,
Satan and the kingdom of darkness are doing. Coming together
as a regiment, as a people, as an army that
cannot be de feed it no matter how old you are,
(23:03):
how young you are, how long you've been saved, that
nothing in this world matters except you are able to
pray Philippians four, starting verse six, Be anxious for nothing
but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. Make
(23:26):
your request be made known to God, and the peace
of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and minds through Messiah. You're sure a lot of anxiety
in the world right now. People are seeing what's going
on in the Middle East, seeing what's going on in politics,
(23:47):
seeing what's going on and finances, and people starting to
get anxious. Well, don't be anxious or worried about anything,
but in everything every circumstance, in every situation, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, make your specific request known to
your heavenly Father. And the peace of God, that supernatural
(24:13):
peace which reassures the heart, that peace which transcends all understanding,
which means it makes no sense, The peace which stands
guard over your hearts and your minds. In Messiah Isua
is yours. Don't you want that? Isn't that your desire
(24:37):
to have that peace? Prayer played a central role in
the activities of the early Church. We see that over
and over from the Book of Acts to the days
of the earliest church community in Jerusalem. The church began
in prayer Acts one point fourteen. They were all continued
(25:00):
on a court in prayer, its supplication with all the
disciples would marry the Mother of Jesus and with his brothers.
So they're praying. They don't know what's going to happen.
They just know he said, wait for the promise of
the Father. We saw Peter set free with prayer. We
(25:21):
see Peter and John get arrested. In what happens they prayed,
they get set free, they got beaten, and they got
back together with their brothers and sisters. Verse twenty seven.
They began to pray for truly against your holy servant,
You Shua, whom you anointed both Herod and punctuous Pilot.
(25:42):
With the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered
together to do whatever your hand and your purpose determined
before to be done. Right there Verse twenty seven eats
up all of this. All the Jews killed him, killed
him Herod, punctuous Pilot, the Gentiles, the Jews of Israel,
(26:07):
they all got together and did exactly what God wanted done.
He had determined it already to happen, and it did
Verse twenty nine. Now, Lord, look on their threats and
grant you your servants that with all boldness they may
speak your word by stretching out your hand to heal,
(26:28):
and that signs and wonders may be done through the
name of your holy Servant, You Shure. And when they
had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken,
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and
they spoke the word of God with boldness. They didn't pray, Oh,
(26:49):
hide us, protect us, get us out of here, No
give us more, so we can go out and do more.
We can shake the world again. So to the to
the early Church and the Apostolic fathers in the Mediterranean
world at the beginning of the second century, prayer was vital,
(27:12):
It was central, and it unified the community. I wonder
if the reason that the Church is so fractured right
now is because we don't pray enough. We don't put
aside our doctrinal differences and pray now. There are certain
doctrines that I cannot come into agreement with or have
(27:32):
anything to do with, But there are others that I
can set aside. Anything that had that doesn't question salvation.
I mean, if they're preaching another Jesus out of another book,
I can't have anything to do with that. So the
(27:53):
basis of our approach to God in prayer is through
the that we have with Him as being his children
by his grace, the promise that he has in his
word to help us to deliver us. Based upon that covenant,
that relationship, Well, you're going to him as your abba Father,
(28:19):
which tells you A, you have the right to enter
the throne room. B. He wants to hear what you
have to say, and in his love, he wants to
answer you the best way he knows how, and whatever's
best for us. So whatever it is, petition, worship, thanksgiving, conversation,
(28:45):
they all overlap and you can't sit down. Well, now,
I'm going to do the petitions. Fifteen minutes, I'll do
the other things. We'll all overlap, and we'll be out
of here in time for lunch. Just let it flow,
let it go, let the spirit take control. You want
to become prayer warriors, you want to become powerful in prayer,
(29:05):
Just say, Holy Spirit, to whatever you want. My lips
are yours, my heart is yours, my mind is yours.
The Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible. Prayer the addressing and
petitioning of God. I remember the fallen world. They pray
to God, or God's with the small g We're praying
(29:31):
to the God. Christian prayer is the end product of
a long process of change and development in God's relation
to man. Paul's ministry began in prayer, and according to tradition,
it ended in prayer just before he was martyred. His
(29:56):
whole ministry was grounded in prayer, developed from prayer. I
know my life after I got saved and having to
go back to New York and my apartment by myself,
I prayed. I know I've told you this. I made
a makeshift little alter from a cardboard box, put a
(30:17):
tablecloth over a small one, and put my Bible on it.
I would kneel there and pray every day, every morning
before I went out into the world, before I went
to the gym or auditions, or went to a security job,
whatever I did, that's how my day started, how my
day ended. So my life was grounded in prayer and
(30:39):
what became my ministry through him later on, the seeds
were already planted. It was developed from those prayers. And
for Paul what he teaches the church that it is
essential to be unceasing in an act to prayer. As
(31:02):
I'm speaking right now, what comes to mind that you
need to pray for. At the end of this, we're
going to pray for certain things. I'm going to speak
out what the Spirit tells me to speak out. But
you know you can pause this, say Lord, I want
to pray for and then go into the prayer and
then hit the play button again. Don't get caught up
(31:27):
into form and formality. When the spirit hits, let it go.
Those that are redeemed and have access to the sovereign
grace of God as our Father, as the father of
our Lord, Jesus the Messiah, we need to intentionally and
(31:53):
purposefully pour out our lives as a perpetual act of thanks,
of conscious dependence on andmniscient I'm the present, omnipotent in
God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. I will tell
(32:14):
you from the kingdom of darkness perspective, and what I
know of that kingdom. They know how to pray, They
could be committed to prayers and incantations and what they do.
What if we as a church could come together and
do that. Could we shake the gates of hell? Could
we shatter their chains? Could we set the captives free? Absolutely,
(32:40):
apart from prayer, we have nothing. We are redeemed by
the Messiah. And without prayer, it was inconceivable and impossible
for the Book of Act church to do anything but pray.
That's the life they lived. I mean, when the Philippian
(33:01):
jailer got converted because of Paul and Silas is singing
and singing hymns and praising. In Acts sixteen twenty five,
the earthquake, the miraculous response to the midnight hour, the
midnight cry. They were praying, praying and singing hymns to God.
(33:23):
At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns
to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly
there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of
the prison were shaken, and a meeting immediately. All the
doors were opened, and everyone's chains were loose, not just
(33:43):
Paul and Silas, everyone's. And the keeper of the prison,
awakening from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing
that the prisoners had fled, drew his sword, was about
to kill himself, because that would have been the punishment
for that failure. But Paul, obviously by the nudging of
(34:04):
the Holy Spirit, called with a loud voice, saying, do
yourself no harm, for we are all here. Then he
called for a light and ran in and found out
fell down trembling before Paul and Silas, and he brought
them out, and he said, sir, what must I do
(34:25):
to be saved? So they said, believe on the Lord
Jesus the Messiah. You show a huamashik and you'll be saved,
you and your household. Then they spoke the word of
the Lord to him and to all were her in
his house. And he took them at that same hour
of the night and washed their stripes, and immediately he
(34:47):
and all his family were baptized. Now, when he brought
them into his house, he set food before them, and
he rejoiced, having believed in God with all of his household.
Paul and Silas are in jail. They're in chains, and
they could have been moaning and groaning and complaining. Instead
(35:07):
they're singing song. They're singing hymns and they're praying, and
everyone the prisoners are listening, and the prison door is
open and the chains fall off. All of that, all
of that began with prayer and praise. In a very
(35:27):
bad situation. We need to stop singing the negative. We
need to stop singing the darkness and pray and praise
and sing and let God do what he wants to
do with it. What a miracle that was, What a
(35:47):
time that was for that to happen. I don't know
what happened to those prisoners. But how could you not
be affected? So the portrayal of God as our father
is not one of a distant, cold God running a
(36:07):
mechanical universe. No, it's it's about one personally involved upholding
things in his power, working things according to the counsel
of his own will, interacting with us Isaiah forty six
(36:30):
thirty verse nine, remember the former things of old. For
I am God, and there is no other. I am God,
and there is none like me, declaring the end from
the beginning, and from ancient times, things that are not
yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will
(36:52):
do all my pleasure. That's our Abbah, Papa Daddy. That's
why the Lord said, but God, nothing is impossible Luke
one thirty seven. He is God, and there is no other. Well,
(37:14):
there are small g gods. There are things that have
been worshiped as God, but they are not God. He
is God. There's none like him. He knows the end
from the beginning, things that have not yet happened. He
already knows. How powerful is that, How wonderful is that?

So amid all the distractions of the multitude of activities
in our lives, we must let nothing intrude upon our
prayer time. The devil would love to keep you busy,
especially if you're in ministry, keep sending your people, keep
you busy so you don't have time to pray, so
(37:56):
you don't have time to regroup, so that you don't
have time to take care of yourself. He'd love to
be prayerless busy, because he knows he has no counter
to the weapon of prayer. He has no counter weapon
of his own. Oh yeah, they can do their incantations
(38:17):
and their prayers and the things that they do, but
it's not even close to the same. I know I've
done both. So keep your prayer time with all diligence.
Make it important even again if you have to mark
it down, if you have to set out I'm going
(38:38):
to pray at nine twelve, three, six nine whatever. If
you need that right now, then do it. Don't let
anything interfere with your prayers. Make a list of who
and what you're praying about. Are you dealing with temptation?
(38:58):
Spend time in prayer. It gets very disappointing to hear
somebody say over and over and over and over and
over again of the temptation they're dealing with, and no
matter what directions they're given, no matter what scriptures, whatever,
they're still suffering from it. And that's just simply because
(39:19):
they either don't want to let it go be the
bonders could be so deep that they need help with it,
but they're also just not praying. When you spend time
in prayer, it loosens the dirt around the roots of
that weed so that you can pull it out. Prayer
is a key in the hand of faith to unlock
(39:41):
God's treasures. A family without prayer is like a house
without a roof. It's exposed to every wind that blows
in every storm that rages. Prayer will compel you to
stop sinning. Conversely, sinning will compel you to stop praying.
(40:08):
You have a choice one or the other. And the
greatest and the hardest preparation for heaven is within a
spirit of prayer. We've been given the opportunity of paradise
with the Lord. We've been given this blessing. We've been
given the opportunity to obtain all the rewards and all
(40:29):
the crowns that come with it. But none of that
can happen. The life can't be what you need it
to be. If you're not praying, do you profess to
love someone that you're unwilling to pray for, unwilling to forgive.
(40:51):
If you're struggling right now forgiving someone, pray, Lord's softened
my heart, Show me why I am unwilling to let
go of their deaths against me. Prayer's not hard work

It's not about rhetoric. It's about faith. Sometimes you don't
have the words, you just pray. The Holy Spirit will
take over. If you have your prayer language and you
don't know what to say, the Holy Spirit will take over.
He'll do it. He'll help you to do it. He'll
(41:34):
help you to pray. Remember Romans eight, starting verse twenty six.
So to the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and
bears us up in our weaknesses, For we do not
know what prayer to offer now, how to offer it
worthily as we ought. But the Spirit himself goes to
meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable
(41:59):
year and groanings too deep for utterance. And he who
searches the hearts of men knows what the mind of
the Holy Spirit, what his intent is because here it
is the Spirit intercedes and pleads before God in behalf
of the saints, according to an in harmony with God's will.
(42:23):
Just ask the Holy Spirit help me to pray. I
don't know what to say. The situation is so bad.
I don't know what to say. Holy Spirit, take over.
Look at the Lord. The Lord was a man of prayer,
went up to mountains by himself, prayed, starting the day,
ended the day what he said Matthew six, starting verse six.
(42:44):
But when you pray, go into your room, when you've
shut your door, pray to your father, who is in
the secret place. And your father, who sees in secret,
will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not
use vain repetitions as the Heathens do, for they think
that they will be heard for the many words. When
(43:08):
you pray. Don't heap up phrases, multiply words, repeating the
same ones over and over, as the Gentiles do, for
they think they'll be heard for their much speaking, the
words that they use, the rituals that they apply. Do
not be like them. Just speak from your heart, for
(43:31):
your father knows what you need before you ask him.
I know you've heard those prayers. You've been around those
kind of prayers. There's no spirit in them, aw Tozer says.
Even the most devout seem to think they must storm
heaven with loud outcries and mighty bellowings or their prayers
(43:53):
or of no avail. God isn't coaxed by endless repetition
for the Godfather, god Father, Godfather, Godfather, Godfather, god Father, Godfather,
Godfather Father. No, No, he knows who he is. You
know who he is. Just talk to him. That's why
the Lord's prayer is a model of simplicity, in contrast
(44:18):
with the pagan worthiness or mystical implication of incantations or rituals.
That's what the Pharisees and scribes did. Matthew twenty three fourteen.
Woe to you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites, for you devour
widow's houses and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore
(44:40):
you will receive greater condemnation from the motives for praying.
Your shoe offered us the methods of praying. When you pray,
don't be like the hypocrites. Why they love to pray,
They love to stand in the synagogues in the corners.
They like to be ooh, look at me. I pray assuredly.
(45:04):
I say to you, they have their reward. But when
you pray, go into your room, and when you have
shut your door, pray to your father, who's in the
secret place. And your father, who sees in secret, will
reward you openly. And when you pray, don't use vain
repetitions as the heathens do, for they think that they'll
be heard for them any words. Therefore, do not be
(45:26):
like them, For your father knows the things you have
need of before you ask them in this manner. Therefore,
pray our father in heaven, hollow'd be your name, your kingdom. Come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this stay, our daily bread, and forgive us
our deaths, as we forgive our debtors. And do not
(45:49):
lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory.
Forever I'm in eyes it all together. For if you
forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither
(46:11):
will your father forgive your trespasses. It's about the heart.
It's not just about the words they help. The words help,
it's got to come from your heart. Man made tradition
with no biblical source or a reference steals the intimacy
of the event. Oh, I've got to have these beads,
(46:35):
and I gotta pray the same prayer on every bead
until I get through every bead. And I got to
do what they did in Babbylon and Mesopotamia and the
Kabbalah and all these other rituals that these people do.
I don't want any of that. I've been there, been there,
done that, got the t shirts. There's no power in that.
(46:58):
I want the ability to just walk in to the
throne room, say Dad, Papa Abbah. If the spirit of
God is in you, you don't need man made traditions
to get it right. He does it. So in prayer,
(47:19):
it's better to have heart without words than words without heart.
Pray not only in the name of the Lord, but
in the faith of the Lord. Lookod first Timothy, chapter two,
starting verse one. First of all, then I urge that
(47:40):
petition's specific request prayers, intercession, prayers for others, and thanksgiving
be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and
all who are in positions of high authority, so that
we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all
godliness and dignity. This kind of praying is good and
(48:04):
acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God, our Savior,
who wishes all people to be saved and to come
to the knowledge and recognition of the divine truth. For
there is only one God and only one mediator between
God and mankind, the man Messiah, Yeshiah, who gave himself
(48:26):
as a ransom of substitutionary sacrifice to atone for all
the testimony given at the right and proper time, and
for this manner, I was appointed a preacher and an apostle.
I am telling the truth. I am not lying when
I say this, a teacher of the gentiles in faith
(48:49):
and truth. The gift of prayer may get praise from men,
but the grace of prayer has the power of God
in it. Pray for everyone, even for those in authority,
that they a would be born again and b follow
(49:11):
God's will in God's word. So it wasn't just Paul
that emphasized prayer. You show it did too. Remember last
week we had the parable of the Persistent Widow and
Luke eighteen one. And you see, it was telling you
the disciples a parable to make the point that at
all times they ought to pray and not give up
(49:32):
and lose heart. So I'm saying to you, pray at
all times, don't give up, don't lose heart. That's how
we should pray. To get our answers from God. We
need to spend time with God, confessing our sins, showering
(49:56):
our adoration upon him, offering thanksgiving, and just fellowshiping with him.
So when you say our Father, you need to mean it. Abba.
Where's your Abba? He's in heaven and he is hallowed,
he is set apart, he is holy and revered. You
(50:20):
know who he is. You approach him as such. So
fellowship with God. That kind of fellowship that I'm sharing
with you, that has been the core to my teaching
from day one of the calling. That kind of fellowship
(50:40):
will purify your prayers, will change your heart. James four
to three says you ask and do not receive. Because
you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasure.
As the amplified goes a little deeper, you ask God
for something and you do not receive it because you
ask with wrong motive, out of selfishness, or with an
(51:02):
unrighteous agenda, so that when you get what you want,
you may spend it on your hedonistic desires. If you're
staying close to God as your father, if you're spending
time in the world, and if you're praying like this,
you won't do that. You wouldn't even think to approach
(51:23):
God with that kind of prayer. Matthew five A tells me,
blessed other pure in heart, for they shall seek God.
That's what we're talking about, purity and heart. I want
to be blessed anticipating God's presence. I want to be
(51:43):
pure in heart, have intigrity, moral courage, godly character. And
the only way I have that is from being in
His presence, from doing what we're talking about here, praying
worshould being, opening us up, saying, Holy Spirit, search me.
If there's any unclean thing in me, take it out
(52:08):
of me, burn it out of me. I'd pray that
right now, Lord, for my brothers and sisters, any unclean thing,
any bondage, any besetting sin, any hook of the enemy.
Rein fire down upon us, Lord, rain Holy fire down
upon us and burn us from the inside out with
(52:31):
your holy spirits. Set us free of all attachments, of
all hindrances, of any spec of the enemy or this world.
When we pray, we can follow the model prayer that
issue gave us. And from there you expand you begin
(52:54):
to pray for others, begin to pray for your needs,
their needs. And then when you all done, when the
spirit nudges you to be finished, simply say, I pray
all these things in Jesus' name. You show his name, Amen,
I'm praying in his authority. I'm praying in his power.
(53:18):
Call upon the Lord right now, out of a pure heart,
adore him, Worship him, thank him. I'm thinking about what
you don't have. Start thanking him for what you do.
What are you thankful for? You have a piece of
paper nearby, you're taking notes. What are you thankful for?
(53:40):
First thought comes to mind. Write it down for me.
It's my salvation. It starts with their I tell you
every week, and it's my family. What he gave back
to me after I got saved. Then it's me being
in the family business, him using me for signs and wonders,
a miracle me I would have never done that with me.
(54:07):
I'm not joking when I say if I'd been God,
I'd have hit me with a bolt of lightning and
then did that problem right away. But his grace was
so amazing. He knew the end from the beginning. He
knew where it was all headed. The enemy didn't. The
enemy thought he had me lockstock and barrel. So by
(54:31):
its nature, this kind of prayer is simply talking with
God as your father, and it is the basis of
a successful walk with the Lord. And it's so important
that the prophet Samuel thought it was a sin not
to pray first Samuel twelve twenty three. In regards to Israel,
(54:55):
he says, moreover, as for me, far be it from
me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing
to pray for you. But I will instruct you in
the good and right way. He knows us, He knows
what you've done, he knows where you've been. He understands
(55:17):
us because he was like us. He was four starting
verse fifteen, For we do not have a high priest
who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all
points tempted as we are. Yet without sin, let us therefore,
(55:37):
come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may
obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Therefore,
let us, you and me, with the privilege we have,
approach the throne of grace and mercy, that is the
(55:59):
throne of God, God's favor, with confidence and without fear,
so that we can receive mercy for our failures and
find His amazing grace to help in time of need,
to give us that appropriate blessing coming just at the
(56:20):
right moment. Yes, his grace is still amazing in the
time of need for us and for others. So what
are we praying for? What would we pray for? So
the first thing that comes to mind is the salvation
(56:41):
of our loved ones, those that don't know Him as savior,
those that are not born again, those whose names are
not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, that they
would be saved. So, Father, we come to you now
on behalf of them say their names. If you know them,
you have them say their names. Speak while I'm speaking. Father,
(57:02):
We just come to you on. Behalf of these are
loved ones, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, sons, daughters. We
pray for their salvation. We pray that they would be
born again, that they would make you Lord of their life.
And for those that have said the right words but
(57:25):
not lived it in heart, we pray they find their
way back to You and be restored into right relationship
before it's too late. What else we're going to pray
for healing a lot of hurting people, a lot of
broken people, fallen world, our bodies not doing what we'd
like them to do, maybe by our own fault, maybe
(57:48):
by circumstances, maybe by environment. I don't know, but I
know that He heals. So we pray right now, Lord,
to heal us and heart and mind and body, souls,
spirit and everything in every need right now, that you
(58:08):
would touch us, that you would even speak the word
from the throne room and we would be healed. What
else we're praying for financial blessings to fulfill our needs,
to pay our bills, to do what He's called us
to do. Maybe there's a lack maybe whatever it is,
(58:29):
maybe this world's putting pressure on you. It doesn't matter
what it is. You know what it is, Speak it out,
say it out loud, give it up to the Lord.
We pray you right now, Lord, for the blessing to
do exactly what we need done, so that we're not hindered,
We're not weighed down, We're not anxious about these things,
(58:52):
We're not distracted by them. We pray for the ability
to pray. That's what the Spirit has told me. We
pray for the ability to pray like this without ceasing, morning,
noon and night, at all times, in every occasion, in
every season, for every reason, to pray that you would
(59:13):
stir us up, that we would be ready to answer
the call and prayer, that we would let you have
your way with us. It might save someone's life. It
might help a marriage that is breaking, a family that
(59:34):
is broken because the loved one has been lost to
drug addiction and the schemes of the enemy. What else
are we praying for, brothers and sisters? What else do
you need? The ability to stand fast in the faith
and the power of His name to do the warfare
(59:55):
needed that he requires of you. If that's what he's
calling you for, He's calling you into service to help others,
to break down the strongholds, to shatter them, set the
captives free. You know what it is he wants from you.

I know because I spend that much time with him,
to talk to him and pray with him and trust him.
I pray that you would trust him. I pray that
you would believe and receive and become a paragon of prayer,
an example to others around you. So, Father, we thank you.

You are the great God above all gods, and there

and to use us. Pray for all the people in
the Middle East that are suffering under oppressive, demonically empowered regimes.

I pray that they would be brought to safety, and
I pray for their salvation. Pray for the fatherless, the widows,
the persecuted and the martyr, the poor and spirit the bound,
the oppressed, and those that are victims of injustice. I

those that are victims of human sex, trafficking, diabolical satanic
endeavor that is the scourge of humanity. Pray for our
brothers and sisters around the world being slaughtered and persecuted
for their faith in Jeshua, their homes destroyed, their places
of worship destroyed. I pray against that growing religious persecution,

not just against the Church, but against the Jews, the
anti Semitism which we know all of that is the
effort of the spirit of the Antichrist, which we must
stand against in prayer. Pray for divine wholeness, health and
healing in me and you and for everyone that needs it,
that we get back to our divine design. Pray for

His protection his inspiration over this technology, over us, over
our homes, our lands, our families, our pets, our possessions,
that his Psalm ninety one covering would be honest, that
He would be a shield about us, the glory and
the lifter of our head. That the fire of the
Holy Spirit would stir up inside of us to wake
us up to answer the call to action, to do

what he needs us to do in this hour. I
pray for the open doors, for all the projects that
he's given and all the plans and the finances needed,
and I hope that you'll come into agreement with me

week that we got the microphone situation straightened out. And

The first version the sound was awful in my opinion,

But I'm thankful that the microphone is working this week.
Last week I read you with a quote from C. S.
Lewis that I want to build off of. This is
what he said, enemy occupied territory. That is what the
(08:47):
world is. Christianity is the story of how the Rightful
King has landed in disguise and is calling us all
to take part in a great campaign of sabotage, sabotage
against the God of this world, against the powers of darkness,
setting the captives free, tearing down strongholds. And that's why
(09:13):
we've been talking about praying in the spirit at all
times and on every occasion. Stay alert, be persistent in
your prayers for all believers everywhere. At the end of
Ephesians six teaching on the Armor of God, I believe
that prayer is vital in this hour. With all prayer
(09:35):
and petition, we are to pray with specific requests at
all times, on every occasion, and in every season, in
the spirit, through the Spirit. With this in view, stay alert,
brothers and sisters, with all perseverance and petition, interceding in
(09:55):
prayer for all of God's people, all the saints, all
the born again believers. Pray for them. So what do
we call to do? Pray? Prayer is one of the
activities that make us unique among all of God's creatures.
(10:17):
Prayer allows us to interact with Him, our Creator, our redeemer,
the animals and the plant life. As far as I know,
they cannot pray. I'm sure at some point when we
get to heaven, I'll find out if I'm right in
that regard. But I believe that prayer is the highest
form of human spiritual activity. The Baker Encyclopedia of the
(10:43):
Bible says a classic definition of Christian prayer is quote
an offering up of our desires unto God for things
agreeable to His will in the name of They say Christ,
I say Messiah, with confession of our sins and thankful
acknowledgment of His mercies. When we do that, we enter
(11:08):
into God's presence, and we present first our thanks and
then we offer our humble request. That's why you always
go into His presence with thanksgiving. And I believe when
we do that, he hears us and he answers us,
and it may not be the answer we want, but
(11:30):
it will be the best for us. So with prayer,
you and I can enter into God's presence. We can
present our needs, our desires, our requests, whatever they are
in His will according to his word. His promise is
(11:52):
to hear us and to answer. We see that next twelve,
starting verse five, Peter was therefore kept in prison but
constant prayer. That's right there in verse five. Highlight it
constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
When Herod was about to bring him out that night,
(12:14):
Peter was sleeping bound with two chains between two soldiers
and guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold,
an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a
light shone in the prison, and he struck Peter on
the side, raised him up, saying, arise quickly, and his
(12:35):
chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him,
gird yourself and tie on your sandals, and so he did,
and he said to him, put on your garment and
follow me. So he went out and followed him, and
did not know that what was done by the angel
was real, but he thought he was seeing in a vision.
(12:56):
And when they were passed the first and second guard
post host they came to the iron gate that leads
to the city, which opened to them of its own accord.
And they went out and went down the street, and
immediately the angel departed from him. Look of all the
things that answered prayer brought to Peter got him past
(13:21):
the guards, took the chains off multiple gates that opened
by themselves, and he was set free. Fervent and persistent
prayer for him was being made to God by the church.
Where is that kind of prayer today? Oh, I know
(13:44):
some people do it. I know I do it. I
know my brother Larry does it. Where's the kind of
prayer that opens prison doors? Where's the kind of prayer
that causes miracles that defy explanation? We need it first.
Thessalonians five, starting verse sixteen, the amplified version says, rejoice
(14:09):
always and delight in your faith. Be unceasing and persistent
in prayer in every situation, no matter what the circumstances.
Be thankful and continually give thanks to God, for this
is the will of God for you. In Messiah is Suah,
(14:29):
we are commanded always to pray for everything and about everything,
because prayer is our lifeline to the throne room. So
you enter by saying, Lord, I thank you, I thank
you for my salvation, I thank you for my home,
thank you for my family. I thank you for loving me.
I thank you for allowing me to do this. You
(14:52):
praise him, then you go to him in petition. In
prayer is our connection to the heart and mind of God,
an interaction based upon relationship and not ritual a relationship
(15:12):
based upon love and not compulsion. I know some people
get into the repetitive prayer thing, and I don't believe
that makes their prayers any more effective than anyone else.
And I actually wonder if it's an annoyance to God,
the repetitive, ritualistic prayer that's not coming from the heart,
(15:33):
it's only coming from the lips. The Home and Bible
Dictionary says prayer is a dialogue between God and people,
especially his covenant partners. Well, the new covenant, the one
you sure gave us, allows you direct access to Him
in the Throne room. In the Bible prayers. It is
(15:55):
simple and it's complex. It's narrow and it's wide, and
it's everything we needed to be. It's supplication for the benefits,
either for ourselves a petition, or for others intercession. In
the latter, it's an act of worship which covers all
the attitudes of the soul in its approach to God.
(16:19):
So if you're praying for yourself, it's a petition. If
you're praying for others, it's intercession. Supplication is at the
heart of it. For prayer always springs out of a
sense of need and a belief that God is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him Hebrews eleven six.
(16:43):
But adoration and confession and thanksgiving fit in all of it,
so that we while we're praying, we become a worshiper.
This kind of prayer that I'm talking to you about
keeps you strong and prepared for every no matter what
it is, no matter what the enemy does, no matter
what the world does. If you are locked in prayer,
(17:06):
praying always, then you're always ready for whatever happens. Someone
once said, don't make prayer monologue, make it a conversation,
and kind of ties into what Billy Graham said, Prayer
is simply a two way conversation between you and God.
Prayer isn't a last resort, It's the first step to peace.

Do you pray first thing in the morning, last thing
at night, sometime during the day. Do you pray all day?
Do you pray on all occasions? What is your prayer
life like? I'm asking you that right now. You can
write it down, You can make a note to yourself.
You can even ask yourself, what is my prayer life like?

And be honest, are you praying as much as you should.
To a believer born again believer, prayer is a way
of life. It turns your entire life into a prayer machine,
not simply for yourself, but for all believers everywhere, every
day and all the time. Today's my pool workout day,
(18:16):
where I tread water and I swim laps, and I
do everything you know that I do to stay healthy.
I spend the entire thirty minutes praying, seeking God's will,
hearing his voice, asking him questions, interceding. There was also
(18:39):
a tradition in the Bible we see of prayer at
the midday, the sixth hour Daniel, chapter six, verse ten. Now,
when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he went
into his house on his roof towards Jerusalem, facing toward Jerusalem,
and he continued to get down on his knees three

times a day, praying and giving thanks before God as
he had been doing previously. So even in captivity, he's
praying every three hours. So Paul telling us pray at
all times. Jesus shoe was telling us pray at all times.
But they were praying three times a day. How about
to start there? Can you do that? I remember Christian
(19:23):
heritage Pastor Shelley putting that out. You know, let's get up.
Let's do this. Nine o'clock, twelve o'clock, three o'clock, six o'clock,
nine o'clock. Maybe you go to bed, maybe you're still
up pray. You know what, people couldn't do it. They
couldn't keep it up. I said, Ah, the heck with it.

I'm just going to pray all the time. We see
in Acts ten, chapter nine, when those that were sent
by Cornelius were on their way and we're approaching the city,
Peter was already up on the roof of the house
about the sixth hour, which is noon, praying. He was
ready to receive a word. He was ready to receive
(20:04):
from the Holy Spirit what he wanted done for Cornelius
and his household. Back then, they kept the roofs flat
and could access them by an outside stairway to go
up and pray, and they would face towards Jerusalem. I
can do that. I have one of those apps that
(20:25):
tells me where Jerusalem is. If I move, it tells
me where it is. I can stand on my pool
deck and face in that direction. But I don't need to.
I just look up. I pray to my father. I
pray to the Lord. But I have that opportunity. You
have that opportunity. David understood prayer. Sitting out there with
(20:46):
the sheep and the flock, late at night, all by himself,
he prayed. That's why he was a man after God's
own heart, Psalm fifty five, Verses sixteen and seventeen. But
as for me, I will call upon God and the
Lord shall save me evening and morning, and at noon
(21:09):
I will pray and cry aloud, and He shall hear
my voice jumping down in verse twenty two, cast your
burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you. He
shall never permit the righteous to be moved. So we're
praying always, general prayers, specific petitions, all done in the spirit,

for all believers on all occasions, no matter what we
are having. Perseverance and patience in prayer. Perseverance and patience
are essential to prayer. Write it down, set it on
your smart watcher, whatever you got up time to pray.

If you can't do it, if you one of those
people that just cannot keep the schedule, make a note.
Listen to me, and I know you're listening to me,
but this is my way of telling you what I'm
about to say. I believe it's important. We have got
to learn how to pray more. We have got to
(22:20):
learn how to pray in power. We've got to learn
how to tear down the strongholds in prayer, how to
rescue our sons and our daughters and our loved ones
from the fire. This is the hour, this is the day.
This is the time that as His body, as His people,

we join together in prayer against the enemy, against what
the spirit of the Antichrist is doing, against what Hociton,
Satan and the kingdom of darkness are doing. Coming together
as a regiment, as a people, as an army that
cannot be de feed it no matter how old you are,

how young you are, how long you've been saved, that
nothing in this world matters except you are able to
pray Philippians four, starting verse six, Be anxious for nothing
but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. Make

your request be made known to God, and the peace
of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and minds through Messiah. You're sure a lot of anxiety
in the world right now. People are seeing what's going
on in the Middle East, seeing what's going on in politics,
(23:47):
seeing what's going on and finances, and people starting to
get anxious. Well, don't be anxious or worried about anything,
but in everything every circumstance, in every situation, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, make your specific request known to
your heavenly Father. And the peace of God, that supernatural
(24:13):
peace which reassures the heart, that peace which transcends all understanding,
which means it makes no sense, The peace which stands
guard over your hearts and your minds. In Messiah Isua
is yours. Don't you want that? Isn't that your desire
(24:37):
to have that peace? Prayer played a central role in
the activities of the early Church. We see that over
and over from the Book of Acts to the days
of the earliest church community in Jerusalem. The church began
in prayer Acts one point fourteen. They were all continued
(25:00):
on a court in prayer, its supplication with all the
disciples would marry the Mother of Jesus and with his brothers.
So they're praying. They don't know what's going to happen.
They just know he said, wait for the promise of
the Father. We saw Peter set free with prayer. We
(25:21):
see Peter and John get arrested. In what happens they prayed,
they get set free, they got beaten, and they got
back together with their brothers and sisters. Verse twenty seven.
They began to pray for truly against your holy servant,
You Shua, whom you anointed both Herod and punctuous Pilot.
(25:42):
With the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered
together to do whatever your hand and your purpose determined
before to be done. Right there Verse twenty seven eats
up all of this. All the Jews killed him, killed
him Herod, punctuous Pilot, the Gentiles, the Jews of Israel,
(26:07):
they all got together and did exactly what God wanted done.
He had determined it already to happen, and it did
Verse twenty nine. Now, Lord, look on their threats and
grant you your servants that with all boldness they may
speak your word by stretching out your hand to heal,
(26:28):
and that signs and wonders may be done through the
name of your holy Servant, You Shure. And when they
had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken,
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and
they spoke the word of God with boldness. They didn't pray, Oh,

hide us, protect us, get us out of here, No
give us more, so we can go out and do more.
We can shake the world again. So to the to
the early Church and the Apostolic fathers in the Mediterranean
world at the beginning of the second century, prayer was vital,

It was central, and it unified the community. I wonder
if the reason that the Church is so fractured right
now is because we don't pray enough. We don't put
aside our doctrinal differences and pray now. There are certain
doctrines that I cannot come into agreement with or have
(27:32):
anything to do with, But there are others that I
can set aside. Anything that had that doesn't question salvation.
I mean, if they're preaching another Jesus out of another book,
I can't have anything to do with that. So the
(27:53):
basis of our approach to God in prayer is through
the that we have with Him as being his children
by his grace, the promise that he has in his
word to help us to deliver us. Based upon that covenant,
that relationship, Well, you're going to him as your abba Father,
(28:19):
which tells you A, you have the right to enter
the throne room. B. He wants to hear what you
have to say, and in his love, he wants to
answer you the best way he knows how, and whatever's
best for us. So whatever it is, petition, worship, thanksgiving, conversation,
(28:45):
they all overlap and you can't sit down. Well, now,
I'm going to do the petitions. Fifteen minutes, I'll do
the other things. We'll all overlap, and we'll be out
of here in time for lunch. Just let it flow,
let it go, let the spirit take control. You want
to become prayer warriors, you want to become powerful in prayer,

Just say, Holy Spirit, to whatever you want. My lips
are yours, my heart is yours, my mind is yours.
The Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible. Prayer the addressing and

a long process of change and development in God's relation
to man. Paul's ministry began in prayer, and according to tradition,

go back to New York and my apartment by myself,

for Paul what he teaches the church that it is

out what the Spirit tells me to speak out. But
you know you can pause this, say Lord, I want

into form and formality. When the spirit hits, let it go.
Those that are redeemed and have access to the sovereign
grace of God as our Father, as the father of
our Lord, Jesus the Messiah, we need to intentionally and

purposefully pour out our lives as a perpetual act of thanks,
of conscious dependence on andmniscient I'm the present, omnipotent in
God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. I will tell

you from the kingdom of darkness perspective, and what I
know of that kingdom. They know how to pray, They
could be committed to prayers and incantations and what they do.
What if we as a church could come together and
do that. Could we shake the gates of hell? Could
we shatter their chains? Could we set the captives free? Absolutely,
(32:40):
apart from prayer, we have nothing. We are redeemed by
the Messiah. And without prayer, it was inconceivable and impossible
for the Book of Act church to do anything but pray.
That's the life they lived. I mean, when the Philippian
(33:01):
jailer got converted because of Paul and Silas is singing
and singing hymns and praising. In Acts sixteen twenty five,
the earthquake, the miraculous response to the midnight hour, the
midnight cry. They were praying, praying and singing hymns to God.
(33:23):
At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns
to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly
there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of
the prison were shaken, and a meeting immediately. All the
doors were opened, and everyone's chains were loose, not just
(33:43):
Paul and Silas, everyone's. And the keeper of the prison,
awakening from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing
that the prisoners had fled, drew his sword, was about
to kill himself, because that would have been the punishment
for that failure. But Paul, obviously by the nudging of
(34:04):
the Holy Spirit, called with a loud voice, saying, do
yourself no harm, for we are all here. Then he
called for a light and ran in and found out
fell down trembling before Paul and Silas, and he brought
them out, and he said, sir, what must I do
(34:25):
to be saved? So they said, believe on the Lord
Jesus the Messiah. You show a huamashik and you'll be saved,
you and your household. Then they spoke the word of
the Lord to him and to all were her in
his house. And he took them at that same hour
of the night and washed their stripes, and immediately he

and all his family were baptized. Now, when he brought
them into his house, he set food before them, and

Paul and Silas are in jail. They're in chains, and
they could have been moaning and groaning and complaining. Instead

they're singing song. They're singing hymns and they're praying, and
everyone the prisoners are listening, and the prison door is
open and the chains fall off. All of that, all
of that began with prayer and praise. In a very
(35:27):
bad situation. We need to stop singing the negative. We
need to stop singing the darkness and pray and praise
and sing and let God do what he wants to
do with it. What a miracle that was, What a
(35:47):
time that was for that to happen. I don't know
what happened to those prisoners. But how could you not
be affected? So the portrayal of God as our father
is not one of a distant, cold God running a
(36:07):
mechanical universe. No, it's it's about one personally involved upholding
things in his power, working things according to the counsel
of his own will, interacting with us Isaiah forty six
(36:30):
thirty verse nine, remember the former things of old. For
I am God, and there is no other. I am God,
and there is none like me, declaring the end from
the beginning, and from ancient times, things that are not
yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will
(36:52):
do all my pleasure. That's our Abbah, Papa Daddy. That's
why the Lord said, but God, nothing is impossible Luke
one thirty seven. He is God, and there is no other. Well,
(37:14):
there are small g gods. There are things that have
been worshiped as God, but they are not God. He
is God. There's none like him. He knows the end
from the beginning, things that have not yet happened. He
already knows. How powerful is that, How wonderful is that?

So amid all the distractions of the multitude of activities
in our lives, we must let nothing intrude upon our
prayer time. The devil would love to keep you busy,
especially if you're in ministry, keep sending your people, keep
you busy so you don't have time to pray, so
(37:56):
you don't have time to regroup, so that you don't
have time to take care of yourself. He'd love to
be prayerless busy, because he knows he has no counter
to the weapon of prayer. He has no counter weapon
of his own. Oh yeah, they can do their incantations
(38:17):
and their prayers and the things that they do, but
it's not even close to the same. I know I've
done both. So keep your prayer time with all diligence.
Make it important even again if you have to mark
it down, if you have to set out I'm going
(38:38):
to pray at nine twelve, three, six nine whatever. If
you need that right now, then do it. Don't let
anything interfere with your prayers. Make a list of who
and what you're praying about. Are you dealing with temptation?
(38:58):
Spend time in prayer. It gets very disappointing to hear
somebody say over and over and over and over and
over again of the temptation they're dealing with, and no
matter what directions they're given, no matter what scriptures, whatever,
they're still suffering from it. And that's just simply because

they either don't want to let it go be the
bonders could be so deep that they need help with it,
but they're also just not praying. When you spend time
in prayer, it loosens the dirt around the roots of
that weed so that you can pull it out. Prayer
is a key in the hand of faith to unlock

God's treasures. A family without prayer is like a house
without a roof. It's exposed to every wind that blows
in every storm that rages. Prayer will compel you to
stop sinning. Conversely, sinning will compel you to stop praying.

You have a choice one or the other. And the
greatest and the hardest preparation for heaven is within a
spirit of prayer. We've been given the opportunity of paradise
with the Lord. We've been given this blessing. We've been
given the opportunity to obtain all the rewards and all

the crowns that come with it. But none of that
can happen. The life can't be what you need it
to be. If you're not praying, do you profess to
love someone that you're unwilling to pray for, unwilling to forgive.

If you're struggling right now forgiving someone, pray, Lord's softened
my heart, Show me why I am unwilling to let
go of their deaths against me. Prayer's not hard work

It's not about rhetoric. It's about faith. Sometimes you don't
have the words, you just pray. The Holy Spirit will
take over. If you have your prayer language and you
don't know what to say, the Holy Spirit will take over.
He'll do it. He'll help you to do it. He'll

help you to pray. Remember Romans eight, starting verse twenty six.
So to the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and
bears us up in our weaknesses, For we do not
know what prayer to offer now, how to offer it
worthily as we ought. But the Spirit himself goes to
meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable

year and groanings too deep for utterance. And he who
searches the hearts of men knows what the mind of
the Holy Spirit, what his intent is because here it
is the Spirit intercedes and pleads before God in behalf
of the saints, according to an in harmony with God's will.

Just ask the Holy Spirit help me to pray. I
don't know what to say. The situation is so bad.
I don't know what to say. Holy Spirit, take over.
Look at the Lord. The Lord was a man of prayer,
went up to mountains by himself, prayed, starting the day,
ended the day what he said Matthew six, starting verse six.

But when you pray, go into your room, when you've
shut your door, pray to your father, who is in
the secret place. And your father, who sees in secret,
will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not
use vain repetitions as the Heathens do, for they think
that they will be heard for the many words. When

you pray. Don't heap up phrases, multiply words, repeating the
same ones over and over, as the Gentiles do, for
they think they'll be heard for their much speaking, the
words that they use, the rituals that they apply. Do
not be like them. Just speak from your heart, for
(43:31):
your father knows what you need before you ask him.
I know you've heard those prayers. You've been around those
kind of prayers. There's no spirit in them, aw Tozer says.
Even the most devout seem to think they must storm
heaven with loud outcries and mighty bellowings or their prayers
(43:53):
or of no avail. God isn't coaxed by endless repetition
for the Godfather, god Father, Godfather, Godfather, Godfather, god Father, Godfather,
Godfather Father. No, No, he knows who he is. You
know who he is. Just talk to him. That's why
the Lord's prayer is a model of simplicity, in contrast
(44:18):
with the pagan worthiness or mystical implication of incantations or rituals.
That's what the Pharisees and scribes did. Matthew twenty three fourteen.
Woe to you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites, for you devour
widow's houses and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore
(44:40):
you will receive greater condemnation from the motives for praying.
Your shoe offered us the methods of praying. When you pray,
don't be like the hypocrites. Why they love to pray,
They love to stand in the synagogues in the corners.
They like to be ooh, look at me. I pray assuredly.
(45:04):
I say to you, they have their reward. But when
you pray, go into your room, and when you have
shut your door, pray to your father, who's in the
secret place. And your father, who sees in secret, will
reward you openly. And when you pray, don't use vain
repetitions as the heathens do, for they think that they'll
be heard for them any words. Therefore, do not be

like them, For your father knows the things you have
need of before you ask them in this manner. Therefore,
pray our father in heaven, hollow'd be your name, your kingdom. Come,

Give us this stay, our daily bread, and forgive us
our deaths, as we forgive our debtors. And do not

lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory.
Forever I'm in eyes it all together. For if you
forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither

will your father forgive your trespasses. It's about the heart.
It's not just about the words they help. The words help,
it's got to come from your heart. Man made tradition
with no biblical source or a reference steals the intimacy
of the event. Oh, I've got to have these beads,

and I gotta pray the same prayer on every bead
until I get through every bead. And I got to
do what they did in Babbylon and Mesopotamia and the
Kabbalah and all these other rituals that these people do.
I don't want any of that. I've been there, been there,
done that, got the t shirts. There's no power in that.

I want the ability to just walk in to the
throne room, say Dad, Papa Abbah. If the spirit of
God is in you, you don't need man made traditions
to get it right. He does it. So in prayer,
(47:19):
it's better to have heart without words than words without heart.
Pray not only in the name of the Lord, but
in the faith of the Lord. Lookod first Timothy, chapter two,
starting verse one. First of all, then I urge that
(47:40):
petition's specific request prayers, intercession, prayers for others, and thanksgiving
be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and
all who are in positions of high authority, so that
we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all
godliness and dignity. This kind of praying is good and
(48:04):
acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God, our Savior,
who wishes all people to be saved and to come
to the knowledge and recognition of the divine truth. For
there is only one God and only one mediator between
God and mankind, the man Messiah, Yeshiah, who gave himself

as a ransom of substitutionary sacrifice to atone for all
the testimony given at the right and proper time, and
for this manner, I was appointed a preacher and an apostle.
I am telling the truth. I am not lying when
I say this, a teacher of the gentiles in faith
(48:49):
and truth. The gift of prayer may get praise from men,
but the grace of prayer has the power of God
in it. Pray for everyone, even for those in authority,
that they a would be born again and b follow
(49:11):
God's will in God's word. So it wasn't just Paul
that emphasized prayer. You show it did too. Remember last
week we had the parable of the Persistent Widow and
Luke eighteen one. And you see, it was telling you
the disciples a parable to make the point that at
all times they ought to pray and not give up

and lose heart. So I'm saying to you, pray at
all times, don't give up, don't lose heart. That's how
we should pray. To get our answers from God. We
need to spend time with God, confessing our sins, showering
(49:56):
our adoration upon him, offering thanksgiving, and just fellowshiping with him.
So when you say our Father, you need to mean it. Abba.
Where's your Abba? He's in heaven and he is hallowed,
he is set apart, he is holy and revered. You
(50:20):
know who he is. You approach him as such. So
fellowship with God. That kind of fellowship that I'm sharing
with you, that has been the core to my teaching
from day one of the calling. That kind of fellowship
(50:40):
will purify your prayers, will change your heart. James four
to three says you ask and do not receive. Because
you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasure.
As the amplified goes a little deeper, you ask God
for something and you do not receive it because you
ask with wrong motive, out of selfishness, or with an
(51:02):
unrighteous agenda, so that when you get what you want,
you may spend it on your hedonistic desires. If you're
staying close to God as your father, if you're spending
time in the world, and if you're praying like this,
you won't do that. You wouldn't even think to approach
(51:23):
God with that kind of prayer. Matthew five A tells me,
blessed other pure in heart, for they shall seek God.
That's what we're talking about, purity and heart. I want
to be blessed anticipating God's presence. I want to be
(51:43):
pure in heart, have intigrity, moral courage, godly character. And
the only way I have that is from being in
His presence, from doing what we're talking about here, praying
worshould being, opening us up, saying, Holy Spirit, search me.
If there's any unclean thing in me, take it out
(52:08):
of me, burn it out of me. I'd pray that
right now, Lord, for my brothers and sisters, any unclean thing,
any bondage, any besetting sin, any hook of the enemy.
Rein fire down upon us, Lord, rain Holy fire down
upon us and burn us from the inside out with
(52:31):
your holy spirits. Set us free of all attachments, of
all hindrances, of any spec of the enemy or this world.
When we pray, we can follow the model prayer that
issue gave us. And from there you expand you begin
(52:54):
to pray for others, begin to pray for your needs,
their needs. And then when you all done, when the
spirit nudges you to be finished, simply say, I pray
all these things in Jesus' name. You show his name, Amen,
I'm praying in his authority. I'm praying in his power.

Call upon the Lord right now, out of a pure heart,
adore him, Worship him, thank him. I'm thinking about what
you don't have. Start thanking him for what you do.
What are you thankful for? You have a piece of
paper nearby, you're taking notes. What are you thankful for?

First thought comes to mind. Write it down for me.
It's my salvation. It starts with their I tell you
every week, and it's my family. What he gave back
to me after I got saved. Then it's me being
in the family business, him using me for signs and wonders,
a miracle me I would have never done that with me.
(54:07):
I'm not joking when I say if I'd been God,
I'd have hit me with a bolt of lightning and
then did that problem right away. But his grace was
so amazing. He knew the end from the beginning. He
knew where it was all headed. The enemy didn't. The
enemy thought he had me lockstock and barrel. So by

its nature, this kind of prayer is simply talking with
God as your father, and it is the basis of
a successful walk with the Lord. And it's so important
that the prophet Samuel thought it was a sin not
to pray first Samuel twelve twenty three. In regards to Israel,
(54:55):
he says, moreover, as for me, far be it from
me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing
to pray for you. But I will instruct you in
the good and right way. He knows us, He knows
what you've done, he knows where you've been. He understands
(55:17):
us because he was like us. He was four starting
verse fifteen, For we do not have a high priest
who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all
points tempted as we are. Yet without sin, let us therefore,
(55:37):
come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may
obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Therefore,
let us, you and me, with the privilege we have,
approach the throne of grace and mercy, that is the
(55:59):
throne of God, God's favor, with confidence and without fear,
so that we can receive mercy for our failures and
find His amazing grace to help in time of need,
to give us that appropriate blessing coming just at the
(56:20):
right moment. Yes, his grace is still amazing in the
time of need for us and for others. So what
are we praying for? What would we pray for? So
the first thing that comes to mind is the salvation
(56:41):
of our loved ones, those that don't know Him as savior,
those that are not born again, those whose names are
not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, that they
would be saved. So, Father, we come to you now
on behalf of them say their names. If you know them,
you have them say their names. Speak while I'm speaking. Father,
(57:02):
We just come to you on. Behalf of these are
loved ones, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, sons, daughters. We
pray for their salvation. We pray that they would be
born again, that they would make you Lord of their life.
And for those that have said the right words but
(57:25):
not lived it in heart, we pray they find their
way back to You and be restored into right relationship
before it's too late. What else we're going to pray
for healing a lot of hurting people, a lot of
broken people, fallen world, our bodies not doing what we'd
like them to do, maybe by our own fault, maybe
(57:48):
by circumstances, maybe by environment. I don't know, but I
know that He heals. So we pray right now, Lord,
to heal us and heart and mind and body, souls,
spirit and everything in every need right now, that you
(58:08):
would touch us, that you would even speak the word
from the throne room and we would be healed. What
else we're praying for financial blessings to fulfill our needs,
to pay our bills, to do what He's called us
to do. Maybe there's a lack maybe whatever it is,
(58:29):
maybe this world's putting pressure on you. It doesn't matter
what it is. You know what it is, Speak it out,
say it out loud, give it up to the Lord.
We pray you right now, Lord, for the blessing to
do exactly what we need done, so that we're not hindered,
We're not weighed down, We're not anxious about these things,
(58:52):
We're not distracted by them. We pray for the ability
to pray. That's what the Spirit has told me. We
pray for the ability to pray like this without ceasing, morning,
noon and night, at all times, in every occasion, in
every season, for every reason, to pray that you would
(59:13):
stir us up, that we would be ready to answer
the call and prayer, that we would let you have
your way with us. It might save someone's life. It
might help a marriage that is breaking, a family that
(59:34):
is broken because the loved one has been lost to
drug addiction and the schemes of the enemy. What else
are we praying for, brothers and sisters? What else do
you need? The ability to stand fast in the faith
and the power of His name to do the warfare
(59:55):
needed that he requires of you. If that's what he's
calling you for, He's calling you into service to help others,
to break down the strongholds, to shatter them, set the
captives free. You know what it is he wants from you.
(01:00:18):
I know because I spend that much time with him,
to talk to him and pray with him and trust him.
I pray that you would trust him. I pray that
you would believe and receive and become a paragon of prayer,
an example to others around you. So, Father, we thank you.
(01:00:42):
I don't know what else to say. Abbah, you are wonderful.
You are the great God above all gods, and there
is none like you. Thank you for this time. Thank
you for the word and these words. Thank you for
(01:01:03):
loving us and answering these prayers that we have offered
to you. And I thank you for all these things.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you
and be gracious to you. May the Lord, I don't
