Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio. I'm
Richard Grund. This is where you find the uncompromised red
letter basics of the Word of God. We focus on
the Book of Acts Church, the purest, most effective form
of the Church, to see how they serve the Lord.
When we do that, we find the Church the Lord intended,
(00:44):
not the one Man created. The Porch is a non denominational,
full gospel approach to the Bible. It's based on the
examples from the Book of Act Church, and it aims
to restore the priest the believer while regaining the world's
shaking influence of the early Church, an influence that is
(01:08):
so desperately needed right now because the Church age isn't over.
The Upper Room experience that fire is as much for
today as it was on the day of Pentecost.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
It's yours if you truly want it. We offer you.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
The Word as the Apostles would have to the Jewish
and gentile believers of their day, using both Yeshiah and
Jesus when speaking.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Of the Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
We prefer to use the term Messiah rather than Christ,
as it more accurately reflects how he was referred to
by those who knew him. Additionally, we provide definitions in Hebrew, Greek,
and Aramaic when necessary. Getting back to basics is not
just a motto, it's a mandate from the Lord. Links

being a part of the porch. Contact us if you
need prayer. Remember we care about you and there are
people that want to pray for you. We start out
with praise. We come into His presence with praise and thanksgiving,
and That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to
praise them first for my salvation, because without that I
(02:55):
have nothing. I am nothing. I praise them for my home, wife,
our family, sons, daughter in laws, grandchildren, frairy kids. Everything
we have is because of the Lord. I praise him
for his provision and protection over each and every one
of us, for the dreams and the visions as we
(03:15):
live out Joel to twenty eight. I praise him for
divine health and healing, speaking to things not as they are,
but as they should be. I praise Him for his
divine abiding favor, for the continuing revelation of the Holy Spirit,
and for making me a new creation and allowing me
(03:36):
to live in these prophetic times.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Now, let's pray.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
We always pray first for Israel and the peace of
Jerusalem Some one twenty two, verses six through eight. Pray
for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you,
Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces. For
the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say,
peace be within you. I have and always will pray
(04:04):
for my Jewish brothers and sisters, for Jerusalem, and for Israel.
If that bothers you, you're in the wrong place. Pray
for divine homeness, health and healing, and me and my
wife and my family, and each and every one of
you as we get back to our divine design. More
(04:24):
than likely, the way we are now is not the
way He designed us. We've been affected by our ancestry,
by our choices, by our environment. He put a design
in our DNA, and I call for that to be activated, implemented,
and to produce selves in accordance with that design. I
(04:46):
pray healing for all who are sick right now. There's
a flu bug going around. I may have gotten it.
I keep going, You keep going. We stand fast in
the faith and the power of His name. Whatever you're
dealing with, whatever sickness, illness, injury, or disease, be healed
in the name of Yoshioahamashiyak. From the top of your
(05:07):
head to the bottom of your feet. I pray for
divine protection, for his angelic covering around us, that he
would be the shield about us, the glory and the
lifter of our head. For inspiration, the inspiration of the
Holy Spirit to guide us and to propel us forward
as we answer the call, and for the remnant to
wake up, that those who are called would arise to action.
(05:32):
If you've been called the blessed, be a blessing. Let's
destroy the work of the enemy Let's do what we
have been called to do. Our divine empowered combined prayers
can put demonic armies to flight, So let's do that.
Let's focus the power of His Holy Spirit and the
(05:52):
Word of God and do what needs to be done
for our homes, our families, for this nation, for this
warld world. It's time we become unified and aggressive in
our efforts against the schemes of the fallen, confronting the
enemy with the confidence and purpose and power delegated to us.
(06:13):
For the Psalm ninety one protection to be upon us,
for us to be edified, encouraged and inspired by His
presence in our life, rising up for the Kingdom of God,
setting the captives free, and doing what needs to be done. So,
Father Abbah Papa, we come to you in the name
(06:36):
above all names, you shew Hamoshiak Jesus the Messiah. We
thank you for loving us. We thank you for choosing us.
We thank you for setting us free of all the
hindrances that kept us from getting close to you and
from coming home to be with you. Thank you for
the freedom, Thank you for the open prison doors. Thank
(06:59):
you for the change that have fallen off. Thank you
for your shoe, sending him to pay the debt that
we could never pay, so that your family could be restored.
So Lord, I don't I thank you for what you did.
Thank you for what you're doing. The cross is bear,
(07:19):
the tomb is empty. You are alive, sitting at the
right hand of the Father in fullness and power, sent
back your Holy Spirit to connect us, to empower us,
and to guide us. The Holy Spirit, we say, have
your way, protect the technology, inspire and empower this word,
(07:39):
and let your will be done. And I pray all
these things in your.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Shoe his name. And if you agree with me, say amen.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
All right, let's get ready here.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
If you remember last week, I shared a word from
the Lord that he gave me that day, and I'm
going to start there again. The Lord said to me
to tell you, I call you to be a people
of prayer, my people of prayer, praying as I lead
you where I lead you and for my purposes, enter
(08:52):
into the secret place of My glory. Prayer. Intimacy. We
pray like that because the Lord prayed like that. Intimacy
comes from communion with God that can only happen through prayer.
Prayer is exhaling the spirit of Man and inhaling the
(09:16):
spirit of God. Prayer's intimacy with God. It's closeness and
clarity with God. It brings trust and confidence, relief and peace.
So today we're going to keep talking about prayer, but
not just any prayer.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
We're going to talk about praying the Word. Why Why
should we pray the Word?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Let me give you a scientific reason. The neuroplasticity of
our brains, your brain's ability to reorganize and rewire its
neuro connections so it can learn, adapt, and recover.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
And how our thoughts.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
And feelings are affected are not by only what we're taught,
but by everything we're exposed to during the day. In
other words, learning is occurring all the time. The brain
never shuts off whatever we are exposing it to. It
(10:20):
is processing. You remember that term geigo garbage in, garbage out.
That's the simplest way to explain what I just said
to you about your brain. So be careful what you
say to yourself. Your mind is listening, and your mind
believes what you tell it. Doctor Sarah Jane Blakemore, a neuroscientists,
(10:45):
says that our brains naturally follow patterns, causing repeated thoughts,
positive or negative, to become deeply embedded. The mind quickly
accepts self talk as fact without questioning its accuracy. That's
why the Word tells us in Calautions three, verses one
(11:06):
and two. Therefore, if you've been raised up with Messiah
to a new life, sharing in his resurrection from the dead,
keep seeking the things that are above, where Messiah is
seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind
and keep focused habitually on the things above, the heavenly things,
(11:28):
not on things that are on earth, which have only
temporal value. So repeatedly telling yourself something causes your brain
to accept it as true. You know, you know the
examples of women who so strongly believe that they're pregnant
that their bodies show it, and they have what's called
(11:49):
the false pregnancy, but there's no baby in the womb.
This happens because of the frequent repetitions reinforces those connections
I talked about making certain ideas to come naturally. Doctor
Philippa Lally's research into habit formation shows that consistent actions
(12:13):
and thoughts create stronger pathways in the brain, eventually turning
them into lasting habits. Getting up in the morning praying,
making that a pattern so that it becomes second nature.
You don't think of anything else. And if for any
reason the world intrudes upon that, you suddenly go, wait, wait,
(12:33):
I'm not supposed to be doing this. I'm supposed to
be praying first Romans ten seventeen says, So then faith
comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith,
the activation of your faith comes by what you hear.
(12:54):
And if you're hearing the word of God, your faith
becomes in power, it becomes supernatural, it becomes divinely inspired.
So today we're going to talk about a section of
Scripture that I pray every day, first thing, every morning,
out loud, Psalm ninety one. And this lesson has been
(13:20):
percolating in my spirit for a couple of weeks now,
and last night while I was sleeping, and every time
I would wake up, I'd start to think about it.
I'd start to think about all the things that I'd
learned and just my experiences. And when I got up
this morning, I knew that, no matter how I felt,
I had to do this. So let's start with Psalm
(13:43):
ninety one. I'll read it all the way through. I'll
break it down for you, and then I'll read it
to you as a prayer. He who dwells in the
secret place of the most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
he is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In him,
(14:06):
I will trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the
snare of the fowler, and from the perilous pestilence. He
shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings
you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield
and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror
by night, nor of the hour that flies by day,
(14:28):
nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of
the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may
fall at your side, in ten thousand at your right hand,
but it shall not come near you. Only with your
eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked.
(14:49):
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
even the most high your dwelling place. No evil shall
befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over you, to
keep you in all your ways. In their hands, they
shall lift you up lest you dash your foot against
(15:10):
the stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
the young lion and the serpent. You shall trample under foot.
Because he has set his love upon me. Therefore I
will deliver him. I will set him on high because
he has known my name. He shall call upon me,
and I will answer him. I will be with him
(15:31):
in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him with
long life. I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
We can see how the Spirit is speaking to us,
especially when we got to verses fifteen and sixteen. But
I want to get ahead of myself because I'm already
(15:52):
getting into this as I read that out loud. Saint
Augustine of Hippo, in his writings Exposition on the Book
of Psalms, says this about this psalm is that from
which the devil dared to tempt our Lord Jesus. Let
us therefore attend to it, that thus armed, we may
(16:14):
be enabled to resist the tempter, not presuming in ourselves
but in him. Capital Ah two before us, was tempted,
that we might not be overcome. When tempted, temptation to
him was not necessary. The temptation, he says Christ, I'll say,
Messiah is our learning. But if we listen to his
(16:37):
answers to the devil, in order that when we ourselves
are tempted, we may answer in like manner. We are
then entering the gate, as you have heard it read
from the Gospel. For what it is to enter by
the gate, to enter by Christ, to enter by Messiah,
who himself said I am the door, And to enter
(17:01):
through Messiah? It is to imitate his ways. He urges
us to imitate him in those works which he could
not have done had he not been made man. For
how could he endure such sufferings unless he had become
a man. How could he otherwise have died, been crucified,
(17:21):
been humbled than to do what we suffer. The troubles
of this world which the devil openly by manner, secretly,
as in Job's case, be courageous, be of long suffering.
You shall dwell unto the defense of the Most High,
as the Psalm expresses it. For if you depart from
(17:41):
the help of the Most High, without strength to aid yourself,
you will fall. I want you to understand all of it,
so that you understand the author of it and what
he was trying to say. But what the Spirit is
saying to us now. So it's thought that Psalm ninety
(18:02):
and ninety one were written by Moses at the beginning
of the forty years in the wilderness, the wanderings of
which are subject of the fourth book of the Psalms.
Psalm ninety one was written to comfort Israel in the
wilderness while going through that forty year curse, to assure
the children of God in all ages of His providence
(18:23):
in their earthly pro pilgrimage. And that's what was taught
to me, and that's what I shall pass on to you.
So the Psalms in four main sections. First, there's a
confession of a confidence in the Lord. Second is the
assurance that those who trust in the Lord need not
fear evil, third is the promises of God's protection, and
(18:49):
the fourth is a description of the protection of the
coming Messiah, which we now know applies to the Church
and to all who believe in Him, whether it be
Messianic believers or gentile believers. Israel knew the Book of
Psalms as the Hallel, the book of praises, but it's
also a book of prayers. The Psalms are a guide
(19:13):
to prayer. The Psalmist offered a glimpse of intimacy with
God in our relationship with the Lord, and the focus
of the Psalms is not on us, but on God.
It offers us a revelation of God, an acknowledgment of
his character and the depth of his love to Psalm
(19:37):
ninety one is a psalm of trust and protection, both
natural and supernatural. It expresses a confidence in Almighty God,
who provides a shelter for those who take refuge in Him.
And when they do that, they receive redemption, they receive life,
(19:58):
they receive glory from the Lord who loves and cares
for those who seek Him.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
So now let's break it down.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most
High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I
will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and
my fortress, my God, in him I will trust. I
will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
(20:27):
whose power no enemy can withstand. My refuge, my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust with great confidence, on
whom I rely. That's what you're stating right in the
very beginning, when you read the Psalm out loud, you're
(20:47):
not only telling yourself, you're telling the enemy as well.
The person who trusts in God is the one who
lives close to him as a shelter, as a shadow,
a refuge, and a fortress. That word dwells in the Hebrew.
You shab to sit down, to dwell, to remain, to abide,
(21:13):
to settle in with the sense of taking up a homestead.
I'm not going to be moved. I'm staking a claim
and I'm resisting all claim jumpers, and i am going
to possess this place, and I'm going to live therein.
That's what that one word says. You are literally under
(21:33):
the protection of God, next to him, hidden by him
from your enemies. Psalm thirty one, verse twenty says you
shall hide them in the secret place of your presence
from the plots of man. You shall keep them secretly
in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. I've always
(21:55):
thought that this opening of Psalm ninety one is so
powerful and why you should always use it if you
think that you're under attacked or there's a presence of
an evil spirit. I'll explain this, and I'll tell you
the example that I have for it. Let me read
it to you in a way that you'll understand what
I mean. He who dwells in the shelter of Eleon
(22:20):
will abide in the shadow of El should die. I
will say to Ado Nai, he is my refuge and
my fortress, my yeloheme in whom I trust. Just in
that very beginning, in those first two scriptures are four
(22:43):
names of God. That's what you're saying out loud. Elion,
the most High God, el should die, the Lord God Almighty,
the all sufficient One, ado Nai, Lord and Master Elohim, God,
(23:03):
Judge Creator. I love the name of El Shadai, not
just because we performed it and I played Moses, but
it's just a powerful name. It resonates inside of me.
It does something like a tuning fork to me. El
Shadai a mountain like Majesty whose shadow is the secret
(23:27):
place of protection, and it's opened all who seek him.
The Most High was an ancient title that exprict got
a calm down here. It can almost not talk, and
we're just barely into this. The most High is an
ancient title that expresses the lord's exalted status as the
(23:51):
ruler and protector of the godly. We see it in
Genesis fourteen thirty, verse nineteen, spoken by Melchisedek, the king
of Salomon. He was speaking to Abram, and he blessed
them and said, blessed be Abram of God most High,
possessor of heaven and earth. And blessed be God most High,
(24:13):
who has delivered your enemies into your hands. And he
gave him a tithe of all. So that first name, Elion,
it reverberates. Maybe that's why it hits me. It reverberates
the greatness of the Most High God. He reigns supreme
over all creation. He's exalted in sovereignty and majesty, and
(24:39):
in the refuge of his presence we find security and
peace sheltered beneath his unwavering supremacy. Then you have el Shade,
the unmatched all sufficiencies of our God as the all
sufficient one in the Lord God Almighty. He embodies the
(25:02):
boundless strength and provision that we need. In the shadow
of his wings, we discover abundant grace to sustain us
through every trial and challenge. Then you have I don't
I a word I like to replace Lord with. It's
the tender call, the tender word spoken.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
To the Lord and Master. I don't I You sure?
Speaker 1 (25:30):
In surrendering to his leadership, we find guidance, we find direction,
we find purpose, and he gives us rest and during
that rest we receive restoration. And then you have Elohem,
that final knockout punched to the enemy. When you read
this out loud, which reveals the multi layered nature of
(25:54):
our creator God as judge, he upholds righteousness and truth.
As the sovereign creator who spoke everything into existence. He
made the heavens and the earth by his very word,
and he is a refuge and a fortress and a
source of unshakable trust. Let me tell you a quick
(26:16):
little story. I share it in the Supernatural Battle, and
my wife was there to witness it. Told you about
that period of time at Christian Heritage when we're doing deliverances,
pretty much I was doing them, but I had a
team behind me every night. And one night I came
home after being at the church for a while, and
(26:38):
it was a pretty in depth, one, pretty powerful one,
and I was tired and I wanted to take a
shower and go to bed. So I went in got
into the shower. When it came out of the shower,
my wife looked at me and said, there's something in
the family room, And what what do you mean? There's
something in the family room? And then I noticed that
our two dogs had come into the room. One was
(27:00):
hidden under the bed, one was cowering inside the doorframe,
and the cats in the family room were me owing
in panic. And I realized that something had followed me home,
and I gotta be honest with you, take me off.
So I grabbed my Bible and as I'm walking towards
the family room, I have the Bible open because I
(27:22):
keep that string right there. That's my weapon, that's the
sword I'm pulling first, and I'm reading Psalm ninety one
out about and about a third of the way through,
the dogs relaxed and the cats stopped yewing. But I
wasn't done. I was going to pound a little bit harder,
how dare that enemy come into my house? And what
(27:44):
was proven to me that day, what I always knew,
that the enemy knows his name, and it runs from
it as hard as we run to it. So when
you're in a situation where you believe that something has
come into your home or you're under attack, and you
don't know what to do, you grab that string of
(28:05):
that bookmark whatever you have. It's Psalm ninety one, and
you begin to read it out loud, and you read
it all the way through, and you don't stop, and
you make it a declaration to the enemy. You make
it a declaration to the spirit realm. You make it
a declaration to yourself that he is your refuge, your fortress,
(28:27):
a secure fortress. So the four things that God is
to those of us who seek the secret place, who
seek his shadow, he's a refuge, a hiding place. He's
a fortress or a place of protection. He's a true
(28:49):
and faithful God, and he's someone in some place that
we can trust. Pick it back up verse three. Before
I take off and you have to peel me off
the ceiling. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare
of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall
(29:10):
cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you
shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield. And buckler,
I love the first word. Surely that's an assurance of
God's presence and protection. This is a declarative statement, the
Lord says, verily, I say unto you. So he's going
(29:32):
to deliver you from the snare of the fowl, from
the traps, from the perilous, horrible pestilence that walks in darkness. Gee,
I didn't know the germs could walk in darkness. Maybe
there's another meaning there. And he's gonna cover you with
his feathers. Well does God have feathers? Well, no, but
some believe angels do. But I think there's another meaning there.
(29:57):
But he's gonna protect you under his wings. He's going
to be your shield, and buckler, the shield about you,
the glory and the one who lifts your head. So
that fowler is the one who catches birds and a
trap or a snare, So it offers us an image
of a small bird that's caught in a trap. And
once God can't get out, and then you have the
(30:22):
various types of disease, pestilence, which is a description of
the dangers that might come to helpless people. Snare is
something wicked men and fallen angels and demons set for
the righteous.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
And who is it that sets traps.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
To ensnare humanity? Hacatan Satan and the fallen and the
kingdom of darkness and the godly those who are in
right relationship with him are invited to come close to
trust in the Lord and find protection in him, protection
from deadly disease and the trap of his enemy. Now
(31:01):
that phrase under his wings, it basically describes God as
a mother hen who protects her children under his wings.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
And we've seen it in scripture. We heard the Lord.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Shouted out as a lament over Jerusalem Matthew twenty three
thirty seven. She has said, oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one
who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent
to her. How often I wanted to gather your children
together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,
(31:38):
but you were not willing. And the Jews would have
known that phrase, because in Psalm sixty one, verses three
and four, it says, for you have been a shelter
for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will
abide in your tabernacle forever. I will trust in the
(31:59):
shelter of your wings, say law Psalm sixty three, verses
six and seven. Whenever remember you on my bed, I
will meditate on you in the night watches, because you
have been my help. Therefore, in the shadow of your wings,
I will rejoice. So feathers and wings, they're figurative of
(32:19):
protection and care. It's also about relationship. Look at Psalm seventeen,
verse eight. Keep me as the apple of your eye,
hide me under the shadow of your wings. To make
you the apple of his eye, he has to pull
you close, face to face, where you can see your
(32:41):
reflection in his pupil, and then he wraps that covering
over you. So the imagery of wings alludes to the
cherubim surrounding the ark of the Covenant. It also shows
us the Lord covering the Psalmist, shutting him off from danger.
(33:03):
So let me say to you, those who seek God's
protection will be shielded by his faithfulness. The wings. The
cloak of protection is yours. But you must draw near
to him, and to do that you must be in
right relationship with him. That term for shield and buckler.
(33:24):
It's a complete protection from all harm. The shield and
butler protected the body, the vital parts, from the weapon
thrust and the arrows of the enemy. We just covered
that God is an all protective shield for the believer.
Verse five. You shall not be afraid of the terror
by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
(33:48):
nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of
the destruction that lays wasted noonday. A thousand may fall
at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand.
I'll not come near you. Only with your eyes shall
you look and see the reward of the wicked.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
So there's a.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Sixfold result of abiding in the secret place. You're not
afraid of the night terrors. Night is the time of
terrors and trees and plunders and robberies. It's a time
of murders and evils and diseases. It's the time of
the demonic. And you're not afraid of the arrows that
fly by day, all those dangers that come during the daylight.
(34:35):
You're not afraid of pestilences that walk in the darkness,
which is the imagery and personification of a demon, disease,
and the demonic were tied together in those days, and
I believe in certain cases they still are. Then you're
not afraid of the noonday destruction. You're protected day and
(34:57):
night from all threats. Though thousand fall at your left
hand and ten thousand in your right, the destroyer won't
come near you, because you'll see the reward of the wicked.
I think this is alluding to Egypt. Divine retribution is
not for those who belong to him. You'll see it.
(35:20):
It won't be pleasant. We cannot glory in it, we
cannot celebrate it, but you won't suffer it. So the
interplay of the words for night and day indicate the
universal nature of his protection for us. The words terror, arrow, pestilence,
and destruction all referred to evil in general, doesn't matter
(35:43):
how they come. The believer who's hiding in the secret
place in the most high, who could have a thousand
fall on his left and ten thousand on his right,
knows that it won't come near him. The plagues, the punishment,
the judgment, the retribution will be on the wicked. And
(36:06):
that word destruction indicates a sudden death that if we
are in his will and living by his guidance. We
have protection from that. Now let me clarify this. And
this may step on some toes. I seem to have
a habit of doing that, but just know if it's intentional,
I will tell you that it is. But this is
(36:27):
not These promises of God are not automatic based on relationship.
Everybody wants the blessings of Israel, but nobody wants the
curses for disobedience. But His protection is there for us,
for those who are in right relationship with him, those
who love him, those who are close to him. And
(36:50):
I'm not saying the enemy won't try to kill you.
I live under that death threat from the enemy every
day twenty four to seven. They love to tell me
how they're going to kill me. And my response is
only my heavenly Father decides when I die. And then
I quote the word. I say, I shall not die,
(37:10):
but live and declare the works of the Lord, which
is Psalm one eighteen, verse seventeen. Those are the bullets
in my spiritual gun, the word of God. So like
the Israelites in Egypt, who has spared the danger that
touched their neighbors, believers in the Lord are protected from
(37:31):
any such threats, any assault, and it says, look and see,
not to revel in it, to see the punishment of
the wicked, but to know that he is a holy
and a just and a righteous God. But that the
godly should not be afraid of him, because he's our
abba father.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
I don'na our.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Lord and savior watches over us. But again these promises
do not guarantee and escape from trouble, because we live
in a fallen world under the sway and the control
of the wicked one, but creates an expectation of the
Lord's goodness. We flow into verse nine from there. Because
(38:14):
you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even
the most high your dwelling place. No evil shall befall you,
No shall any plague come near your dwelling. He shall
give his angels charge over you, to keep you in
all your ways. In their hands, they shall bear you up.
(38:34):
Unless you dash your foot against the stone, you shall
tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion
and the serpent, you shall trample underfoot. The imagery there
clearly indicates this is Moses writing after the leaving Egypt
and the wilderness journey, where you're going to strike your
(38:55):
foot against the stone in the desert. Where are you're
going to encounter the lion and the culver of the
young lion and the serpent? And in actuality it might
not be the word serpent. Where were you going to
step on them? And we know that they had to
have the staff that Moses would hold up so that
they wouldn't be poisoned by the snakes that they stepped on.
(39:16):
Because you have made the Lord, because you have the
reward of making out or now your refuge, and else
should die your safe place. It's an invitation to divine
protection and the benefits of relationship with God. Look at James,
(39:37):
the brother of Yashuah, when he wrote in chapter four,
starting verse seven, Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you. Draw near to God,
and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands
your sinners, purify your hearts. You double minded humility and
(39:57):
godly submission to Godd's ways will allow you to draw
close to him. That's called righteousness, right standing with God.
And we have none of our own, So we partake
of your shoe, us robes of righteousness. He shall give
his angels charge over you to keep you in all
(40:19):
their ways. In their hands, they shall bury you up
less you dash your foot against the stone. Very section
of scripture that Satan used to tempt the Lord in
the wilderness, we see it in Luke for starting verse nine.
And then he, being Satan, brought him you show it
to Jerusalem, set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
(40:40):
and said to him, if you are the son of God,
throw yourself down from here, For it is written he
shall give his angels charge over you to keep you
in their hands. They shall bury you up lest you
dash your foot against the stone. And if you notice
he left out a section, like he always does, I'm sure,
answered and said to him, it has been said you
(41:02):
shall not tempt the Lord your God. It says to
keep you in all your ways. Well, the way I
left that out was he trying to diminish the presence
of God? Was he trying to take a backhanded slap
at God? I don't know, but I know that he's
(41:23):
a liar, and he always leaves out enough of the
truth to turn it into a lie. Or he will
command his angels in regard to you, to protect and
defend and guard you in all your ways. Of obedience
and service. The promise of angelic protection isn't a blanket.
(41:48):
It's only for those who will obey him and who
are close to him. Someone twenty one, starting verse two.
My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
He will now allow your foot to be moved. He
who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps
Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper.
(42:13):
The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The
sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon
by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil.
He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your
going out, And you're coming in from this time forth
and even forevermore, a promise that he made to Israel.
(42:39):
But the Church has been grafted into the vine, so
we partake of the promise. Angels serve as messengers and
agents of God's interaction with humanity, either in speaking or
protection or intercession. But we cannot focus on the angel.
(43:02):
You hear somebody preach an inordinate amount of focusing on angels,
or calling angels or telling angels what to do. Run
far away from them, because that is a false teaching.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the
young lion, and the serpent, you shall trample underfoot. Well,
(43:25):
the young lion is a bit more violent, a bit
more vicious, quicker, and you got to worry about the
danger of that, because when you step on them, you're
picking a fight, and they're going to react to it.
But also you shall trample it underfoot, You shall crush
(43:46):
it underfoot. This is referring to all kinds of evil,
natural and supernatural. If we take the original King James,
this is what it says, thou shall tread upon the lion,
the adder, the young lion, and the dragon, shall that
trample underfoot. So we have the promise over wild beast
(44:10):
and creeping things and all Satanic powers symbolized by them.
The Lord said in Luke ten nineteen. Behold, I give
you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and
overall the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by
any means hurt you. We know from scripture Satan is
(44:31):
the lion of one Peter five eight and the great
dragon of Revelation twelve nine. When we are trampling them
underfoot through the promise of Messiah's destruction of Satan's power
that was prophesied in Genesis three point fifteen. And I
will put enmity, which is hatred between you and the woman,
(44:52):
which was Mary, between your seed and her seed. A
woman doesn't have a seed. But we know it's referring
to the Messiah. He shall bruise your head. That's authority,
that's power, and you shall bruise his heel. Of reference
to the crucifixion. This war has been playing out for
(45:14):
a very long time. And let me state this unequivocally,
brothers and sisters, we are at war. I don't talk
about it much because I don't want to glory in it.
I don't want to give it that much credit, nor
do I want to create a fascination among you. But
the attacks over the last month have been pretty dramatic,
some of which I haven't seen in a very very
(45:36):
long time. Could be for a lot of reasons what's
going on in the world. But I also believe that
whatever blessing is ordained for me, for this ministry, for
the calling that's been given us, is imminent, and the
enemy is doing everything it can to destroy us before
(45:57):
it gets here. But we shall stay, we shall speak
the word, we shall believe in the Living God and
his name, with the authority delegated to us hidden under
the shadow of his wings. We've been called to do
what the Lord did, destroy the works of the devil.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
And we know that.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
First John three to eight says he who sins is
of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the
beginning his rebellion in heaven. For this purpose, the Son
of God was manifested that he might destroy the works
of the devil. So don't you think that if we're
going to go out there and do the works of
the Lord, to destroy the works of the devil, this
(46:39):
going to bring retaliation. This is going to bring a response.
You step on an adder, you snake, you step on
a lion of cobra, you step on something, it's going
to respond. So if you're going to step on it,
you better finish it off. You better trample it underfoot,
you better crush it. Because sin, the sin that they
(47:00):
have brought, brings death and destruction. That's what we're looking
at in the world. We're looking at the result of
sin and rebellion. Who're seeing it all around? You can't
ignore it. Oh, you can't stick your head in the sand.
But my running joke is that makes you very vulnerable
with your butt up in the air.
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Verse fourteen.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Because he has set his love upon me, which is
a capital M me, Therefore I will deliver him. I
will set him on high because he has known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him.
I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver
him and honor him with long life. I will satisfy
(47:48):
him and show him my salvation. The verb here for
love is not the usual Hebrew word for love. It's
the idea of holding close, hugging tightly in love. You
know that with the way you hug your firstborn and
the way you hug your grandchildren, that you just hug
them so close and you don't want to let him go.
(48:13):
Because he has known my name. That's a declaration that
because you have an intimate, experiential knowledge and relationship.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
With me, I will deliver you.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
And of course verses fourteen through sixteen are a reference
to the Messiah. Those who know God's name are in
a covenant relationship with him. The Lord delivers and protects,
he answers, he honors, He satisfies and reveals his salvation
(48:46):
through the preservation and blessing of Israel, which has, like
I said, applies to the Church because we've been grafted
into the vine, which is why we can't reject the
vine that we've been grafted it into. So this entire
psalm praises God as savior because of his love for
(49:11):
us Psalm sixty two, starting verse six. He only is
my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I
shall not be moved. And God is my salvation and
my glory. The rock of my strength and my refuge
is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people,
(49:35):
pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge
for us. He is a present, active help in times
of trouble, no matter what they might be. He removes
all fear from evil because of His presence.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
In us and with us. Greater is he that is
in me and he that is in the world.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Greater is he that is in me than he that
is against me, And more than once I've reminded the
enemy when it comes to knocking at my door, who
my father is.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
The promise from the Lord is I will.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Set him securely on high because he knows my name.
He confidently trusts and relies on me, knowing that I
will never abandon him, No, never. Divine intercession provides comfort
and hope because he's interceding from the throne. It strengthens
(50:39):
your faith. It removes all doubt and fear. Ah the
promise of salvation and deliverance. God honors his children who
love him and know him personally, and the result of
that love on our part is obedience, and that long
(51:01):
life and satisfaction his eternal life forever with him. But
I apply that to the hero and now, and I'm
going to show you how. I'm going to read you
Psalm ninety one as a personal prayer the way I
say it every day. He who dwells in the secret
(51:25):
place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, he
is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In him,
I will trust. Surely he shall deliver me from the
snare of the fowlon from the perilous pestilence. He shall
cover me with his feathers, and under his wings I
shall take refuge. His truth shall be my shield and buckler.
(51:49):
I shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor the
pestilence thou walks in darkness, nor of the destruction and
that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at
my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but
it shall not come near me. Only with my eyes
(52:12):
shall I look and see the reward of the wicked.
Because I have made the Lord who is my refuge,
even the most high my dwelling place. No evil shall
befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over me, to
keep me in all my ways. In their hands, they
(52:34):
shall bear me up. Lest I dash my foot against
the stone, I shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
the young lion and the serpent. I shall trample under foot.
Because I have set my love upon him. Therefore he
will deliver me. He will set me on high. Because
(52:56):
I have known his name. I shall call upon him,
and he will answer me. He will be with me
in trouble. He will deliver me and honor me with
long life. He will satisfy me and show me his salvation.
And I pray that then you show his name, Amen,
(53:20):
I prayed every day, and if I want to pray
that over my family, I change the eye and the
me to we and us, and I take it to plural.
But I take the word of God and I apply
it as a prayer, as a declaration over me, for
my brain to hear, for myselves to hear, for the
enemy to hear, for the angels to hear, to know
(53:42):
that I understand what the covenant is, what the contract is.
Each and every day, first thing, I pray that out loud.
I even add to it in the sense that long
life Moses was one hundred and twenty eyesight not dim
(54:06):
strength not diminished. If that's what it takes for me
to finish what I need to do, Lord, so be it.
Then I'll add other scriptures and speak to the prayers.
I have a set number of scriptures that I use
every morning that I pray that I declare not only
for the Lord, but for me. I need to hear it.
My brain needs to hear it. It needs to rewire
(54:28):
those errors areas that want to doubt or wonder. She's
taken so long. But then again, there is no time
in the spirit realm. As soon as you let the
words of lack of faith or fear or those things
enter in your brain. Your brain. Wait a second, that
must be true, So I need to rewire. No. Stop
(54:51):
stop saying those things to yourself. Stop cursing yourself. Speak
to things not as they are, but as they should be,
in accordance with the Word of God. Don't give the
enemy any ground, don't give them any satisfaction. Don't be
arrogant either, because let's understand what we're up against. But
(55:14):
understand that we have the authority. The authority that spoke
them into existence is inside of us. So you stand
strong in the faith and the power of his name,
with the word of God, the sword in your hand,
dressed in the armor of God, prepared for battle, your
heels dug in. If they're going to come after you,
(55:38):
your family, your home, your past, your possessions, they aren't
going to do anything to try to disrupt your life
and destroy you. You've got to stand strong. And that's
when you pray the Word. That's why these teachings and
I think I'm going to continue because there's sections of
the Psalms I want to cover. We're going to become
(56:01):
the people of prayer that he desired. We're going to
become the ones that shake the cages and set the
captives free. We're going to become the ones that tear
the prison doors open and be who He needs us
to be in this hour, at this time. And you
might be listening and say, yes, Richard, this is well
(56:21):
and good for you. Now it's well and good for
all of us. I've just been doing it longer, maybe
a little bit more fervent about it, a little more
fired up because of where I came from, what I suffered,
what I did to others, what the enemy did to me,
(56:44):
and what he's doing to some of you. We need
to get sick and tired of being sick and tired
and declare I will speak this word, I will do
this and his name for his glory, for the Kingdom
(57:04):
of God, for the coming king. So Abbah, Papa Daddy.
First of all, thank you for getting me through this time.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
The time.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
I didn't know if I could do it, having no
energy before I sat down, but then you filled me.
You are as good as your word. I pray, Holy Spirit,
that you're speaking to my brothers and sisters as you
speak to me. Help us let go the things that
(57:41):
hinder us, the words that we say that cause confusion
in our mind over who we are and who we
should be. Help us understand this word, Help it to
be on our lips, even if we're asleep, that our
flesh man would rest, but our spirit man would have
the words ready to go, that we would have a
(58:06):
heart for the lost, for the fatherless, the widows that
persecuted and the martyred, the poor in spirit, the boundy oppressed,
and those that are victims of injustice. And declare and
decree in the name of your Shuahamashiah Jesus the Messiah,
enough is enough. We shall stand in the gap for
(58:30):
one another and with one another, side by side, and
show the world your love, show them the power of
your name and your glory, and to shake the powers
of darkness one last time before the return of the King.
(58:55):
And I pray this Lord for me and my brothers
and sisters who agree with me as we say, Amen,
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord,
may I don't I make his face to shine upon
you and be gracious to you. May the Lord I
(59:19):
don't I your sureha Mushiah, Jesus the Messiah lift up
his countenance upon you, and give you peace, Give you shallow.
