Restoring the Church Through the Holy Spirit, the Word, and Authentic Discipleship.
Building God's Kingdom Beyond Tradition.

The Book of Acts Church served as a model for building God's Kingdom through Spirit-empowered salvation and transformation based on Scripture. The Remnant focus is on returning to an authentic church experience led by the Spirit, prioritizing worship and relationships over programs. Believers are called to follow the biblical blueprint instead of tradition or worldly methods.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Welcome, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio, I'm
Richard Grund. This is where you find the uncompromised red
letter basics of the Word of God. We focus on
the Book of Actor Church to see how they serve
the Lord. In doing so, we find the Church the
Lord intended, not the one Man created. The Porch is

(00:43):
a non denominational, full gospel approach to the Bible. It's
based on the examples from the Book of Actor Church,
and it aims to restore the priesthood of the believer
while regaining the world's shaking influence that the early Church had.
Church age isn't over. The Upper Room experience is as

(01:04):
much for today as it was on the day of Pentecost.
It's yours if you want it. We offer you the
Word as the Apostles would have to the Jewish and
Gentile believers of their day. We use both Yeshua and
Jesus when speaking of the Lord. We prefer to use
the term Messiah rather than Christ, as it more accurately

(01:26):
reflects how he was referred to by those who knew him. Additionally,
we provide definitions in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic when necessary.
Getting back to basics. It's not just our motto, it's
a mandate from the Lord. Links to all of our

any further information. We appreciate your support and encouragement and
your prayers. Thank you for being a part of the
porch community. Contact us if you need prayer. Remember we
care about you. We start out praise and prayer, and
of course the first thing I praise him for is
my salvation. I praise the Lord for having saved me

(02:34):
back in October of nineteen eighty eight, for letting me
come into the family business to work with him. I
thank him for giving me back what I have thrown away,
my wife, my family, my home. Everything everything I have
now is because he rescued me, and I thank him
for that. As I said for my wife's sons daughter

(02:56):
in law's grandchildren, furry kids, the roof over my head.
All of this technology is because of him, and I
never ever take that for granted. I praise him for
provision and protection. Boy, do we need it these days,
for the dreams and the visions as we live out
Joel to twenty eight. I praise him for divine health

(03:18):
and healing, both by faith and by actuality, for what
he's already done, knowing that he will do it again.
I praise him for abiding favor, divine abiding favor we
cannot live without it. For the continuing revelation of the
Holy Spirit, for walking with us, teaching us, guiding us,

(03:40):
comforting us. I praise him for making me a new
creation and allowing me to live in these prophetic times
serving the Kingdom of God. Now, let's pray. I pray
for the peace of Jerusalem Psalm one twenty two, verse six,
as may they prosper who love you. I pray for them.
I pray for my Jewish brother and sisters. I pray

(04:01):
for his hand to be upon them. I pray that
for America as well, for God to forgive us and
to shed his grace upon us. I offer prayers for
all the people being victimized by their leaders right now
across the world, looking at what happened, what is happening
in Iran, and the world is staying silent because it

(04:23):
doesn't fit their narrative is painful to watch. So I
pray for our Persian brothers and sisters. I pray for
the fatherless, the widows, the persecuted, and the martyr, the
innocence and those who are victims of injustice. I pray

(04:43):
against the slaughter of the innocence, both innocence in the
womb and out of the womb, both human and animal.
If you don't realize it, as these lives are being
taken every day deliberately, is an offering to the enemy.

(05:04):
I pray for the missing and exploited children, the victims
of human sex trafficking. It breaks my heart to see
what's happening to them, the lives that are being ruined.
But I know the Lord can rescue them and heal them.
I pray for our brothers and sisters around the world
being slaughtered and persecuted for their faith. I pray against

(05:25):
the growing religious persecution and the anti Semitism, which is
the plans and the efforts of the spirit of the
Antichrist to divide us and to destroy us, but we've
been given the authority to push back. I pray for
Divine holeness, health and healing in me, my wife, my family,
and each and every one of you that need it.

(05:48):
I pray his protection and inspiration to be upon us,
the fire of the Holy Spirit inside of us, and
I pray that the remnant would awaken. If you've been called,
answer the calling. I pray for the open doors for
all the projects and plans that He's given us, with
the Kingdom finances and the provision that must come for

(06:10):
Kingdom business in twenty twenty six. So Father Abbah, Papa,
I come to you in the name of your son,
your shoe, and I thank you. I pray that you
would bless us, protect us, protect this technology. Thank you
Lord for the cross, the empty tomb, the upper room.
You've done so much, and saying we love you and

(06:31):
thank you seem so small, but it's what we have
and we offer you our heart. So have you a way,
Holy Spirit, do whatever it is you want to do.
Take this word and give it life and fulfill the
intention of the Lord this day. And I pray that
in your shoe is name.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Forgive me if I sound a little nasally. We're suffering
from some unusually cold weather. I moved to Florida get
away from all this. So somebody up north, you left
your ac on the refrigerated door open, and you need
to come get this weather because we don't want it.
Talking about the Kingdom of God, you know, the Holy

(07:52):
Spirit was building the Kingdom of God, but was doing
is doing it. I'm already excited. We haven't even started,
and I want to take off me calm down, deep breath.
The Holy Spirit was building the Kingdom of God from
both jew and Gentile into one. Except what happened was

(08:14):
along the way, man in the Church began building their
own kingdoms, man made denominations, doctrines, rules, dows and don'ts
outside of scripture. Go with me to Matthew twenty three,
starting verse one. Then yahoo, U spoke to the multitudes
and to his disciples, saying, the scribes and the Pharisees

(08:38):
sit in Moses seat. Therefore, whatever they tell you to observe,
that observe and do, but do not do according to
their works. For they say and do not do. For
they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them
on men's shoulders, but they themselves will not move them

(08:58):
with one of their fingers. But all their works they
do to be seen by men. They make their fallctries
broad and enlarge the border of their garments. The Pharisees
and the scribes where they were tying heavy loads of
rabbinic interpretation of the law that was hard to bear,

(09:19):
and they were placing them on people's shoulders, but they
would not they lift a finger to help them or
to make it lighter. And in Matthew twenty three this
begins seven woes to the Pharisees and the Sadducees for
their religiosity, their hypocrisy. That's not what this is about.

(09:42):
In Matthew eleven, starting verse twenty eighty, says, come to me,
all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and
learn from me. Frame gentle and lowly in heart, and
you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke

(10:04):
is easy and my burden is light in contrast to
the heavy burden of Jewish legalism. You sure was calling
for open, free, and a loyal relationship, which he called
my yoke, and that enables obedience to the law's righteousness.
My burden, his burden, because love inspires the law. If

(10:29):
you love me, you'll obey my commandments. You won't do it,
but grudgingly you won't do it, gritting your teeth. You'll
do it because you want to. But this is not natural.
It's not natural for the flesh to do that. So
how do we do it? We do it through the
infilling of the Holy Spirit. That's been the one key

(10:50):
thing from the time that he started our fellowship in
Tallahassee to its evolution into the porch, into Solomon's porch.
It's always been about allowing the Holy Spirit to do
his work, because that's what he was sent for. John

(11:11):
fourteen thirty, verse twelve. Most assuredly, I say to you,
he who believes in me, the works that I do,
he will do also, and greater works than these he
will do. Because I go to my Father, and whatever
you ask in my name, that I will do that
the Father may be glorified in the sun. If you

(11:32):
ask anything in my name, I will do it. If
you love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray
the Father, and he will give you another helper, that
he may abide with you forever, the spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him
nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells

(11:55):
with you and will be in you. He will abide
with you forever, abide permanent residence. He's not going anywhere,
he's not leaving. His presence is not predicated upon another
person being here. That's not how it works. Later on

(12:15):
John sixteen, starting verse seven, issue says, nevertheless, I tell
you the truth. It is to your advantage that I
go away. For if I do not go away, the helper,
the Paraclaytos, the one who walks beside you, will not
come to you. But if I depart, I will send
him to you. And when he has come, he will

(12:38):
convict the world of sin and of righteousness, and of
judgment of sin because they do not believe in me.
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you
see me no more of judgment, because the ruler of
this world is judged. I still have many things to
say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However,

(13:00):
when he the Spirit of Truth, has come, he will
guide you into all truth. For he will not speak
on his own authority. But whatever he hears where in
the throne room, whatever he hears, he will speak, and
he will tell you things to come. And he will
glorify me, for he will take of what is mine

(13:21):
and declare it to you, all things that the Father
has our mind. Therefore I said, he will take of
mind and declare it to you. We cannot have conviction
of sin without the presence of the Holy Spirit. We
cannot have righteousness or judgment of sin without the Holy Spirit.

(13:44):
It would make sense that the enemy would want us
or want the church, not us, but want the church
to believe that the Holy Spirit and the gifts of
the Spirit and his active presence no longer happens. You
show a represented the Father. So the Holy Spirit represents
the Sun, vested with his authority, and is the interpreter

(14:06):
and executor of his will. And we represent him to
the world and fulfill his will. What is his will?
That's easy. He desires all people to be saved and
reconciled to him. That's it. That's the great commission. Take
this gospel out into the world and preach it to

(14:26):
all the nations. Make disciples, not built buildings, not built programs.
Not do all these other little side projects. Focus on
the one thing I told you to do, and the
fire of the Holy Spirit. That fire, that passion is
here in his remnant to restore the church to its foundation.

(14:47):
We desire to build His kingdom with no distinctions and
no variations from his blueprint. He said it, we believe it,
and we want to do it, and that remnant is
a right to restore things. But let's get real. There
is a force resisting this. There's a resisting force against

(15:09):
us Ephesian six, verses twelve and thirteen. For our struggle
is not against flesh and blood, contending only with physical opponents,
but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world
forces of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of
wickedness in the heavenly supernatural places. Therefore, put on the

(15:33):
complete armor of God, so that you will be able
to successfully resist and stand your ground in the evil
day of danger, and having done everything that the crisis demands,
to stand firm in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious.

(15:53):
But see, we also know from Tewod Corinthians ten to
four through six that the weapons of this warfare, the
weapons of our warfare, are not physical weapons of flesh
and blood. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction
of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments in every exalted

(16:14):
and proud thing that sets itself up against the true
knowledge of God. And we are taking every thought and
purpose captive to the obedience of Messiah, being ready to
punish every act of disobedience when our own obedience as
a church is complete. We are tearing down the arguments

(16:37):
that take us away from the truth. We are battling
against the demonic influence that is getting us away from
what He said and making us ineffective. But see, power
is not for power's sake. It's for the kingdom. And
that's the one distinctive thing I see in people that
are of the Remnant. They don't seek glory, and they

(17:01):
don't seek power and authority outside of glorifying Him. They're
not trying to make a name for themselves. They're not
trying to build a brand. Maybe they did in the
beginning of their walk. Maybe they got seduced by it.
Maybe they thought that was the way to do it,
because it seems to be the norm. The Church seems

(17:22):
have forgotten Luke Chapter ten, Verses seventeen through twenty, and
the seventy return with joy. Remember he sent them out.
Now they're coming back, saying, Lord, even the demons will
subject us and your name. This was unique to them.
These are not religious men. These are fishermen and tax
collectors and people that are not used to that demons

(17:46):
being subject to them, and yousue his name. This is
what he said to them. I saw Satan fall like
lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you authority to trample
on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of
the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless,
do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject

(18:10):
to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written
in heaven. It's not about who you are or what
you can do, but what's been done for you, that
your names have been written in heaven. If you keep
your eyes on that you won't get seduced. So he
cautions them to not become enamored with the sensational, the sensational,

(18:36):
spiritual or supernatural events, no matter how significant they might be,
but rather to focus their attention on salvation, the central
theme of all prophecy and scripture, the chief concern. An
example of Messiah's life, the presence of one's name in
heaven is of greater significance than any individuals spiritual prowess

(19:03):
that someone might boast about. When I see people putting
on their show and building their brand and doing all
the things that for me were pablem as a baby
Christian that they think is something sensational, I just shake
my head, say, you're missing the point. It isn't about that.

(19:25):
It's about salvation, starting with yours. So as believers, as
disciples of the Lord, we should not rejoice in the
spiritual power He's given us, but in the greatness of God,
the greatness of our abba Father, who freely gave us
salvation through his son. We need to return to the spiritual,

(19:49):
uncompromised principles, the original unprocessed practices of the Book of
x Church to a purity. You know, one of the
amazing things in this world is they talk about processed food,
food that's been taken of real food and processed into
something else, a quick meal or whatever, and how unhealthy

(20:13):
it is and how damaging it is to our body. Well,
guess what processed religion, processed church is unhealthy to the body.
We need to return to the spirit and the code
of the Book of Acts, congregation, based on the teachings
of Yeshia and the examples of the Apostles to guide

(20:36):
our day today efforts. That's what he said, Lieuten seventeen
through twenty, the amplified version. If you really love me,
you will keep my commandments, and I will ask the
Father and he will give you another comforter counselor help
or intercessor advocate, strengthen or stand by that he may

(20:56):
remain with you forever. What do you think it It
is that the Holy Spirit's going to encourage us to
do to advocate for the furthering of the kingdom, the
promotion of Yeshia. Now how are we to do this?
We do it by the Spirit and by the book
the book, the book the Bible. See the Spirit of

(21:19):
the Sadducees needs a building structure to rule from spirit
of the Pharisees needs the hierarchy and a cast system
to control the people with, Oh you must stay there.
I'm up here, you're down there. Look at my outfit,
my collar, my flowing robes. The religious spirit will always
seek to disrupt and destroy what the Lord is doing,

(21:42):
and the contemporary church has fallen into the same errors
of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. That was one of
my first revelations after getting saved and having come back
to I had to come back to New York to
go to my grandmother's funeral and sitting there in that
Roman Catholic church and watching everything and reading my Bible.

(22:04):
I brought my own Bible, of course, because you're not
going to find one of those in pews, and looking
around and looking at the outfits, and looking at the candles,
and looking at the statues, and looking at all the
ornate things, and I realized that the church just recreated
the Pharisee system, the Jewish temple system. They recreated the

(22:29):
external and then lost the focus on the internal. Over
the years, I've told you about a book called Pagan
Christianity Exploring the Roots of Our Church Practices by Frank
Viola and George Barner. Difficult book to read, especially if
you are very steeped in church, very loyal to tradition.

(22:51):
It will rock your theology. But I challenged you to
read it. I don't agree with everything. There were things
they said that I did not agree with it. They
went far enough on some things. But you're not going
to agree with everything somebody writes. But this is from
that book. The Church in the first century was an

(23:11):
organic entity. It was a living, breathing organism that expressed
itself far differently from the institutional church today, and that
expression revealed Jesus the Messiah on this planet through his
every member of functioning body i e. The Church. Organic
churches are characterized by spirit led, open participatory meetings and

(23:37):
non hierarchical leadership. This is in stark contrast to a
clergy led, institute driven church. The church really is an
organism as such, it has DNA that will always produce
these features if it's allowed to grow naturally. Where did
the practices of the contemporary church come from? The answer

(24:00):
is disturbing. Most of them were borrowed from pagan culture
that the Church in its contemporary institutional form has neither
a biblical nor a historical right to function as it does.
The remnant are tired of the institutions, tired of the

(24:21):
denominations and the routines getting in the way of a rich,
vibrant connection with Him. They are worn out on the
endless programs that always fail. It's time that the Body
of Messiah get in touch with both the Word of
God and the history of the Book of Acts Church

(24:41):
to arrive at a better understanding of what we can
and should do, as well as what we cannot and
should not do. Having the mind of the Lord is
so much more than we understand. It's a remnant mindset.
He didn't pick from the Pharisees or the Sadducees. He

(25:02):
didn't pick from religious leaders, even ones that were agreeable. No,
he picked from a remnant men that had been rejected
that normally would not have been chosen for this job.
A remnant born of trials and afflictions which have propelled
us into an intimacy with the Lord. We've been attacked,

(25:23):
we've been criticized, we've been broken, and then we realized
the only place that we feel at home and fulfilled
is in His presence. That doesn't come from a complacent,
comfortable quote Christianity. That's what got us to where we
are now. He comes from being a disciple, which is

(25:43):
what a believer is. It's a walk and a lifestyle
as much as it is a mindset. You can't just
think about it. You have to do it. And we
are building His kingdom without distinction in people, nor found
to a structure or man made traditions. How did we

(26:06):
get here? How did we get to where we are?
Religion man made religion. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, religion
as it pertains to this topic is a personal set
or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices. It's

(26:30):
a cause, a principle, or a system of beliefs held
to with ardor and faith. Dictionary dot Com takes it
a little further, says it's a set of beliefs concerning
the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when
considered as the creation of the superhuman agency or agencies,

(26:53):
usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a
moral code govern the conduct of human affairs. It's a
specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon
by a number of persons, or sets like the Christian
religion or the Buddhist religion. It's a body of persons

(27:15):
adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices. That's
why we have a World Council of Religion, men deciding
who does what, when, where and how. It was so simple,
but this religious mindset is fatal to his church. It's
driving people away from Him into the form and formality.

(27:39):
And I share this with people who've never heard it before,
never felt it before, and they have a violent, antagonistic
reaction because I'm challenging their beliefs. I'm challenging their structure.
I'm challenging what they've been told is the way to
do things. Until the spirit opens their eyes that can

(28:00):
see it. But once their eyes are open, they can
never go back. It's a mindset that thinks that the
ways of the world are the way to build his kingdom.
They don't understand it's love for him that drives his kingdom.
His kingdom is not of this world, and therein lies

(28:20):
the problem. We're trying to fit into a world in
which we cannot fit. It hates us. Oh, it may
not tell that to our face. It may tolerate us,
but it hates us. And if we push too hard
or speak too loud, it shows that Romans twelve, verse two,

(28:41):
the amplified version, do not be conformed to this world
any longer with its superficial values and customs, but be
transformed and progressively changed as you mature spiritually, by the
renewing of your mind, focusing on godly values and ethical latitude,
so that you may prove for yourselves is what the

(29:04):
will of God is, that which is good and acceptable
and perfect in His plan and purpose for you. That
Greek word transformed, metamorphosis. It's the process that leads to
an outward and permanent change. And that's what the church needs,
is a metamorphosis, an inside out change. Unfortunately, it's only

(29:27):
going to come within a handful within the remnant. There
are just some people that can't let go a tradition.
They can't let go of the comfortable. Well, it was
good enough for my grandfather and my grandmother and everybody
before me. It's good enough for me. Give me that
old time religion. It's not going to cut it in
twenty twenty six. Look at the prophet, Isaiah says in

(29:49):
chapter fifty five, verses eight ninees. And this is the
Lord speaking through him. For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are you your ways my ways, says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts

(30:10):
than your thoughts. Well, if that's the case, why do
we think that he thinks like us, or that what
we do is what he would want done. His wisdom,
his love of his mercy is unlike anything the world
could understand or implement. In the book Church Without Walls,

(30:30):
Moving Beyond Traditional Boundaries by Jim Patterson, he says, I
find it strange that references to the Kingdom of God
are so prominent in the New Testament and so rare today.
The good news of the Kingdom is the message that
you shoe have brought. When we see that in Matthew
chapter nine, starting verse thirty five, then you shoe a

(30:53):
one about all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues,
preaching the Gospel of the king Kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease. Among the people. Though when he
saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them,
because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

(31:14):
Then he said to his disciples, the harvest is truly plentiful,
but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of
the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. That's
what it was about. It was about people, Matthew twenty
four to fourteen. He says, and this gospel of the
Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a

(31:36):
witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Maybe the end hasn't come because we haven't done our job.
Of course, he knew that, knowing the end from the beginning,
he knew what we would and wouldn't do. That's why
he keeps raising a people to do what he wants done.
People that won't buckle against the pressure put upon them.

(31:56):
They won't compromise, they won't stand down. That's the gospel
that Yashi has said would be preached in all the
world as a testimony all the nations, and then the
end will come. The remnant is about the gospel. Jim
Patterson goes on to say, there are more references in

(32:16):
the New Testament of the Kingdom of God or the
Kingdom of Heaven than there are to church or churches.
I'm not implying that the church is unimportant, simply that
is not all there is. There's something greater when the
good news of the Kingdom is preached the church happens.
When we concentrate on building the church, we tend to

(32:39):
reproduce our familiar forms, and even in that we've forgotten
that we are the church. Church is in a place.
It's not a building. It's not where you meet, it's
who meets. Four eleven says the Lord knows the thoughts
of men, and they are futile. And yet we apply

(32:59):
men made thinking to his kingdom. If the thoughts of
man are futile, well guess what we have built this
in our futility. People are seeking more of God. There's
a hunger out there. I see it even in the youth.
The tired of religion. That's the remnant. The remnant's tired
of institutions. It's tired of denominations, of routines, of endless

(33:23):
programs and no transformation. It's tired of interference with meaningful
connection with him. The world has tricked us into thinking
that his kingdom has to be motivated by whatever the
popular trends are of the day. I don't even know
how that makes sense. How can a trend, a prevailing

(33:47):
tendency or inclination, a general movement, a current style of
preference further his kingdom. It can't. It may bring attention
to it, but it won't further it. I mean, pick
a trend megachurches, secret churches, satellite campuses, fake vacation, Bible

(34:08):
school children's church, affinity group, ministries, you know, ministries for singles,
for women, for men, see for young marriage for people.
Fish from the left side of the boat. What is that?
You know what it is? It's to make people want
to belong to a club. That's really what they've become.

(34:29):
Contemporary worship music, some of it anointed, most of it,
in my opinion, not concert techniques, smokes, mirrors and atmosphere
and the big screen projection system. So I understand why
they thought it was necessary, but it wasn't. It's not.

(34:52):
Maybe if we met in smaller groups where everybody had
a face and everybody played a part, and everybody knew
each other's name, you wouldn't need that. Now, these aren't
inherently wrong, they're distractions. They have become a replacement for
the simplicity of the Gospel with worldly techniques and strategies. Yes, Richard,

(35:17):
you seem to have a problem with all these things. Yes,
I do after all these years, because I participated most
of those things the beginning of my walk and the
beginning of my ministry. I thought that was the way
to do things. It's taken me all this time to realize.
As Paul said, I know one thing, and Jesus is

(35:38):
showing him crucified. It's about the cross. It's about the
empty tomb, it's about the upper room. I can't entertain
you into salvation. I can't entertain you into heaven. Reliance
on marketing strategies to perform the same activities in different
ways or places or particular segments of societ, of a

(36:00):
collective population. That's what has happened. I sat in those
business meetings at the church when I was on the
board a Christian heritage that as I began to awaken
to what was wrong, it would rile me up. And
of course, as I've told the stories, I would raise
my hand and push back against it, and the old

(36:20):
timers would grit their teeth. I mean literally grit their teeth.
You could hear their dentures clutching together. Up there he
goes again. Fellowships became bureaucracies for the sake of order
and organization. Fresh data from George Bonne, who keeps track
of these kind of things, says that while there are

(36:41):
some positive trends, Christianity as a whole is less important
to Americans than in years past, and more and more
Christians don't even practice their faith. For example, in twenty
seventy four percent of Christians said faith was central to
their lives. Today it's fifty four percent. That means forty

(37:08):
six percent of US Christians don't even consider their faith
to be central to their lives. I don't know about you,
but I think that's a bit of an issue. Similarly,
half of all US adults forty eight percent, now qualify
as nonpracticing Christians. In fact, according to their statistics, only

(37:32):
twenty four percent of Christians actively pursue things pursuing their faith.
That's a big change from just fifteen years ago. It's
on the decline. We're in a crisis and discipleship, it

(37:52):
doesn't happen. Set it caring for one another. I'll bring
you to church, I'll PLoP you in a pew, and
hopefully you'll get acts to the pastor at some point.
If we would compare the Word of God the history
of the church for better understanding of what we can
and should do, we'd be doing something about it and
also what we cannot and should not do again. In

(38:16):
the book Church Without Walls, Jim Patterson says, when we
look at the church, we view it through a traditional paradigm.
For example, we all know churches have sanctuaries, pulpits views,
and a clergy. For us, it's difficult to think of
a church without any of these familiar components. But what if,

(38:38):
for some reason, it suddenly became impossible to have these things.
Would the church cease or would we change our paradigm
and carry on. God's people started without any of these
things and did very well. And the God's people in
East Asia have functioned basically without any of these resources

(39:00):
for the past forty years, actually longer. Considering when that
was written, and he gave an example, and I did
a little. I fleshed it out in October nineteen forty nine,
the Communists took over East Asia. All foreign missionaries were expelled,
and the national leaders they had trained were either imprisoned

(39:21):
or killed. In nineteen fifty seven, those who had persisted
in the faith were sent to prison camps. All of
the official churches were under government control and were closed
from nineteen sixty six to nineteen seventy six, and some
of them have yetas I'm not opened. The surviving Christians

(39:42):
were forced to change their understanding of church to survive.
They went underground home churches and survived. They did, growing
from five million to an estimated fifty million in a
period of forty years. They were forced to change, and

(40:03):
they were forced to go back to their roots. And
what happened same thing that happens with the garden, when
you get out all the weeds and till the ground
things grow. The Book of Acts Church needed to have
a similar event. When Stephen was martyred, the persecution of
the church escalated naxt eight verse Once all was consenting

(40:25):
to Stephen's death at that time, a great persecution arose
against the Church which was at Jerusalem, and they were
all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except
the apostles and developed men carried Stephen to his burial
and made great lamentation over him. As Fasaul, he made

(40:46):
havoc of the church, entering at every house and dragging
off men and women, committing them to prison. Even in
a short period of time, the church was becoming complacent.
They hadn't gone out into Judas and Samaria. They had
to be scattered. Seeds had to fall into the ground
and die for there to be growth. Burthers, sisters, what

(41:10):
we do in religious circles has no precedent in scripture, none.
None of the activities within our church services, the education
of an ordination of clergy that was meant to control
who could preach, who could say what when you could
say it. The idea of a youth ministry or a
children's ministry, separating the kids. You see the logic of it,

(41:35):
but then you realize that wasn't how they did it before.
The families studied together, they worshiped together. The methods of
raising money for ministry, The fact that you even have
to do that, the fact that people cannot give out
of inspiration, They can't follow the scripture. If you've been fed,

(41:55):
then help feed the person feeding you. The IBM business
concept corporate concept took over the ways in which music
is used in services. And I'll tell you this, and
if you haven't caught onto it, some of the worship
is real and organic, and some of its manipulative. I've

(42:18):
been in those meetings too, and just the very praise
presence and nature of the buildings in which people meet. Again,
not bad intentions, but good intentions are not always God intentions.
And believers, we just went along for the ride, and

(42:40):
those resulting changes became traditions. We've always done it this way.
We did it this way, and the spirit fell, and
so we're going to keep doing it till the spirit fauls.
Like that again, does traditional equal biblical? Does an inherited,
established customary pattern of things or action or behavior? Is

(43:03):
that biblical? Is the handing down of information, beliefs, and customs? Biblical?
Is that how they did it, assimilating with social attitudes
and customs and institutions, well meaning, maybe slightly off maybe,

(43:24):
So what's the problem with that, Richard? If it's slightly off,
it's still close enough. I'm gonna use this example again.
What if you were just one degree off course. That
means for every degree you fly off course, you'll miss
your target by ninety two feet every mile that you fly,

(43:45):
for every sixty miles you fly, you'll miss your target
by one mile. If you fly around the equator, you'll
land almost five hundred miles off course. Flying one degree
off course from JFK to LAX, we'll put you fifty
miles off course someplace else. You won't reach your destination. Oh,

(44:09):
you'll be in flight. You'll think you're going somewhere, and
you are, but not to where you want to go.
The Bible is our flight plan. And we got off
course just a little bit over time, over all these years,
until we're completely off course. We noticed something isn't right,

(44:32):
but we just don't make any changes. And what happens
is when you're on that flight and you see no
changes made, you get off and there's a sadness to that.
I'll be honest with you. When the Lord said get
up and leave, come out from among them and be separate,
and we started the Home Fellowship and learned what it

(44:54):
was really all about. It hurt. We left people behind
that were about people who then rejected us because we left.
They weren't the friends of the family. We thought they
were a slight alteration. So the Book of Acts church
was made by those that came after them, and now

(45:16):
the whole thing is off. Course. A fellowship of believers
became set apart, professionals, ministers, a clergy, aided by volunteers,
the laity. We use labels contemporary church, traditional church, present
day church, modern church to refer to the institutional church

(45:39):
of our day. Oh, Richard got to think outside the box. Yeah,
but I won't think outside the book. And if it's
not there and I can't confirm it, the spirit doesn't
validate it, I'm not going to do it. An institutional
church is one that operates primarily as an organization above

(46:02):
and beyond, an independent of the members who populated. That
was a shock when I saw how things were done,
and I applied to it as saying that I've always used.
If you don't want to see how the food is cooked,
don't go in the kitchen. No, the Kingdom of God

(46:26):
is about kingdom people helping people into the kingdom, and
nothing more. It's about him. It's about promoting him. What
he say in Mark sixteen, starting verse fifteen. Go into
all the world. Don't sit down. Go into all the world.

(46:49):
Preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes in
his baptized will be saved. He who does not believe
will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who
believe in my name. They will cast out demons, they
will speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents,
kind of like Paul did when he got bit after
the shipwreck. And if they drink anything deadly, it will,

(47:12):
by no means hurt them. That means if you're preaching
the gospel, that's what that means. That doesn't mean you
have snake handling at church. And they will lay hands
on the sick and they will recover. He further emphasizes
in Matthew twenty eight, starting verse eighteen, All authority has
been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go

(47:32):
therefore make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things
that I've commanded you. And lo I am with you
always even to the end of the age. We can
do this. We have all authority, all power of rule

(47:57):
and heaven and on earth, against everything and supernaturally, because
it's been given to us by Him, the King of
Kings and the Lord of Lords. We can go, then
and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit, teach jing them to observe everything

(48:20):
He's commanded us. And behold, he will be with us always, perpetually, uniformly,
on every occasion, to the very close and consummation of
the age. And that's what I do. I take him
at his word when he says, in view of my authority,

(48:42):
I commission you with the full power of attorney to
carry on the work that I have started. I believe him.
Go then, literally get going to do what to make disciples?
What is it? Disciple? It's one of who repents of sin,

(49:04):
trust in the Lord, trust in you, isshure for salvation,
and obeys his teachings. That's the great commission. Four aspects
go all believers, not just preachers. The invitation is salvations
for all alike. So why should not the responsibility of
getting the invitation out to others be for all alike?

(49:28):
We all have the same rights, same privileges, promises and
provision for the equipment for service. We have the same gifts,
same Holy Spirit. So we should all help in every
way possible to evangelize the world according to our ability
and direction from God. There's no excuse for millions of

(49:49):
believers leaving this work only to a few teach. That
word teach is to make disciples, to enroll as a
learner or pupil. It's not the ordinary word for teaching.
It's instructing. Baptized all disciples Matthew Chapter three. John the

(50:17):
Baptist was baptizing people, and then he baptizes you shoe
Acts two thirty eight, Peter says to the crowd, or
when they say, what shall we do, repent and let
every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus the Messiah. You shoe a much shikh for the
remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of

(50:37):
the Holy Spirit. In Acts A thirty eight, the Ethiopian
eunuch commands the chariot to stand still, and both Philip
and the eunuch get down into water so he can
be baptized. After hearing the gospel message. What stops me
from being baptized? Simple immersion in water to signify a

(50:59):
complete renewal and cleansing and being were born into the
life of belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of
Yeshua as the way of salvation. Interestingly enough, the International
Standard Bible Encyclopedia tells us the substitution of pouring or
sprinkling for immersion. Instead of being immersed, you get sprinkled

(51:22):
and poured on. As the Christian ordinance of baptism was
late and gradual and finally triumphed in the West because
of the decree of the Council of Trent, man changed
what God had ordained. Maybe for convenience. I don't know why.

(51:43):
It was probably well meaning, but it was wrong. And
that word teaching, it means to give instruction. It's translated
as teached ninety three times the Greek word to dosco
and it's simply the idea of it instructing rather than
enrolling disciples to be taught. You know, I thought about it.

(52:06):
It's like a child. You have a child, you want
to teach them how to ride their bike, Well, you
instruct them, you show them how you do it. With them,
and then once they can do it by themselves, they
get better at it. Teach them a craft, teach them
in trade, whatever it is. We're teaching people how to

(52:27):
walk this walk because we walk with them. But instead, no,
you're going to sit in a pew. You're going to
go to listen to that person or this person. And
I get it. Some people are better than others at
teaching and getting the point across, but that shouldn't replace
the organic intimacy of helping one another. Romans twelve, studying

(52:52):
verse six. As having then gifts differing according to the
grace that is given to us, let us use them.
If prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith
or ministry. Let us use it in our ministry. He
who teaches in teaching, he who exhorts in exhortation, He

(53:18):
who gives with liberality, he who leads with diligence, he
who shows mercy, with mercy, with cheerfulness. The Lord has
given us a job. He's given us the authority to
do it and the power to accomplish it. So let's
do it. By the book, Let's do it in love,

(53:39):
love for him and for others. Let's do it in
the power of the Holy Spirit. I created a meme today.
I posted it on Instagram and Facebook under the SRT account,
and part of it said that the greatest act of
spiritual warfare is to plunder the strong man's goods by
saving souls and creating disciples that will do the same. Oh,

(54:05):
just think of the damage we could do if we
did that, destroying the kingdom of darkness while building the
Kingdom of God. If you're of the Remnant, we are
restoring the Church through the Holy Spirit, the Word, an
authentic discipleship. We are building God's kingdom beyond tradition. The

(54:34):
Book of Acts Church served as our model for building
God's Kingdom through spirit empowered salvation and transformation based on
the Word of God and the Remnant. Focus is on
returning to an authentic experience led by the Holy Spirit,

(54:58):
prioritizing worship and relationship over programs. We're called to follow
the biblical blueprint instead of traditional worldly methods. Were called
to do it the way He wanted it done. Father Abbah,

(55:21):
I ask right now that through the power and the
presence of your Holy Spirit, you cleanse us of anything
in everything that is not of you, every thought, every plan.
We thank you that you put up with us, that

(55:42):
you love us so much. You've allowed us to get
one degree off, but you never gave up on us.
You always raised up a remnant to help get things
back on track. And so here we are. We're asking
Holy Spirit, that you speak to us individually and collectively,

(56:07):
that you give us revelation, knowledge, that you show us
things we need to let go of, things we need
to change, things we need to add. We ask you
to empower us physically, spiritually, supernaturally to do this. In

(56:27):
this hour, there are sheep wandering around looking for a
pen to belong in, looking for a pen with the
right food. And how I long to be able to
offer that. As yet you've not released me too. But
with the right provision, we wouldn't have to do this online.

(56:54):
There'd be little groups everywhere, believing, praying, challenging tradition, challenging religion,
challenging the kingdom of darkness, setting the captives free, shining
the light, saying this way, this is the way to safety.
Come cry out to your shoe. He's the only answer.

(57:23):
We can't do this without you, Lord, We can't do
it without your Holy Spirit. So let it be so.
Let it be so, and your shoe his name.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
Amen.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the
Lord May I don't know, I make his face to
shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the
Lord I don't know, you shoe a hammosiack Jesus the Messiah,
lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
Give you shall own. I'm Richard Grund. This has been
