Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hello, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio. I'm
Richard Grund. This is when we get back to basics,
the uncompromised read letter basics of the Word of God.
By focusing on the Book of Acts Church and seeing
how they serve the Lord, we find the Church Lord
(00:42):
intended and not the man made one. The Porch is
a non denominational, full Gospel approach to the Bible. It's
based on the examples from the Book of Axs Church,
and it aims to restore the priesthood of the believer
while regaining the world shaking influence that the early Church had.
(01:03):
Because the Church age isn't over, the Upper Room experience
is as much for today as it was on the
day of Pentecost. It's yours if you want the fire
still burns. We offer you the Word as the Apostles
would have to the Jewish and gentile believers of their day,
using both the Yeshuah and Jesus.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
When speaking of the Lord, we prefer to use.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
The term Messiah rather than Christ, as it more accurately
reflects how he was referred to by those who knew him. Additionally,
we will provide definitions in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic when
necessary to give a better understanding of the content and
context of what is being said. Getting back to basics
(01:50):
isn't just a motto, It's a mandate from the Lord.

you need prayer. We'd like to pray for you because
we care about you. Continue to pray for healing and
recovery for anyone needing it. Like my wife dev still
dealing with her surgery, but praise the Lord, he is
working with her and on her every day. In that regard,
(02:57):
so many out there hurting right now. We need to
remember them. Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters around
the world being slaughtered for their faith, and pray for
the peace of Jerusalem, because that would mean the return
of the Prince of Peace. Father Abbah, Papa. We come
to you as your children. We love you, and we
(03:20):
thank you for everything that we have, our homes, our families,
our pets, our possessions. I just thank you for everything
I have, everything that you gave back to me, everything
I threw away before you redeemed me and cleared my
mind and rescued my soul. Thank you for loving us
(03:42):
when we were unlovable. Thank you for putting up with
us even now. Oh boy, I can only think with
the finite human minds how frustrating it must be sometimes.
But thank you that you never gave up on us. Lord,
(04:02):
How don't I What words can we offer you for
all that you've done for us except thank you? And
we love you with all of our heart, with all
of our mind, with all of our soul and our spirit.
Thank you. You are Messiah, your Savior, you are King,
(04:27):
your friend, and we can't do this without you. We
thank you for sending back the Holy Spirit the row
Kokodesh to walk with us, to teach us, to guide us,
to comfort us, and overshadow us. Thank you for the
protection of your angels. We'll pray over this technology, over
(04:49):
this word. We pray that you'd keep us from evil and.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
The evil ones. We want to walk in this fallen world.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Safe and secure. We want to shine your life. We
want to drive back the darkness and set the captives free.
Will help us, help us understand this word, let us
receive it. We clear our minds, We take our thoughts
captive to the obedience of Messiah. We claim the mind
of Messiah, and we cast down every vein imagination that
(05:20):
would exalt itself above the knowledge of ely on God
Most High, Our abba Father, So Holy Spirit, have your way,
do whatever it is you want to do this day.
And we just thank you for all these things and
your shoe his name. And if you agree with me,
say amen. These lessons are proprietary information, except where not

a quote from j saidlow Baker Baxter. Rather Jay said
(06:31):
low Baxter. It might be a baker, a candlestick maker.
I don't know, but this is a Baxter. He's an
Australian author, theologian and preacher.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And this is what he said.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments,
despise our persons, but they are helpless against s our prayers.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
And I felt like this week and.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Talking about spiritual warfare, we need to talk about prayer,
fervent prayer, How powerful it is, how necessary it is
as a weapon of our warfare. James points out in
James five sixteen says confession sends to each other, pray
(07:22):
for each other that you may be healed. The earnest
prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces
wonderful results. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous
believer can accomplish much when put into action and made
(07:43):
effective by God. It is dynamic and it has tremendous power.
So as believers, we should pray for each other. Healing
flows from our confession and our prayer. You don't need
to go confess to a priest or somebody wearing an
(08:06):
outfit or whatever. No, no, no, we're supposed to care for
one another. And James assures us that prayer is both
powerful and effectively. He would know he was from a
group of people that knew how to utilize prayer. Pher
(08:27):
can undo what the enemy does to us. It is
a form of spiritual warfare. Actually, it is probably one
of the most potent. That's easy for you to say, Richard, Yes,
I know it wasn't it. It is the most potent
weapon in our warfare. Look at Axtan. We won't go there.
(08:51):
I'll just tell you. You know the story the Roman
centurion Carnoius. Cornelius's prayers and offerings to the poor, even
though he was not a Jew, inspired the Lord to
send an angel to tell him to invite Peter to
his house. Peter was nearby. He didn't know who Peter was.
(09:13):
And what was the end result of that Numerous salvations
and baptisms, people getting filled with the spirit, people getting
brought into the Kingdom of God. Why because Cornelius was
a man of prayer. J Smith says, our Lord made
prayer the real battlefield of life, and there won his victory.
(09:39):
If you look at every aspect of the Lord's life,
it was led by prayer, It was empowered by prayer.
Prayer simply communication with God, including petition, thanksgiving, praise, hymns,
or even lament. So when we talk about the weapons
(10:00):
of our warfare, when we talk about not fighting against
flesh and blood, it leads to prayer Ephesian six earty,
verse twelve. For we are not fighting against flesh and
blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the
unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and
(10:22):
against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, but on
every piece of God's armor, so that you may be
able to withstand the enemy in the time of evil.
Then after the battle you will be standing firm, stand
your ground, putting on the belt of truth in the body,
armor of righteousness, that breastplate of righteousness for shoes. But
(10:47):
on the peace that comes from the good News, so
that you'll be prepared to do hot, to preach the gospel,
and to get In addition to all of these things,
hold up the shield of faith, stop the fiery arrows
of the evil one. Put on the helmet of salvation,
take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the
(11:08):
word of God. And then do what pray in the spirit.
At all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and
be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere, for
every saint, all of God's people that are called to
be holy.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
What are used to do? Pray?
Speaker 1 (11:33):
The New Bible Commentary says, note that Paul has chosen
to cast his message in the form of a battle address.
He addresses the whole church corporately as an army, not
singular saints. Lone soldiers are easy to pick off. Note too,
that Paul has a particular sort of battle in mind,
(11:55):
one to hold a strong position. His explanation is not
to prepare soldiers to make a quick moving attack. There
are no javelins to throw, but to take a stand,
stand your ground, stand firm, to hold the ground of
(12:17):
the hill, as it were, and the enemy must weary
itself in the constant uphill attack. The decisive victory won
by Messiah lies in the past, and the very fact
that believers now fight on his side is clear testimony
to that we're in a battle. If you haven't figured
(12:39):
that out, you're not paying attention. You're wilfully ignorant of
what being a believer is all about. You're marked by
the blood. Your name is written in the Lamb's book
of life. You made a declaration. You've chosen a side,
and the enemy knows that they will not overlook that.
(13:00):
There's no peace treaty. There won't be is war, and
we're at war. Thephesians two, verse one through six says,
once you were dead because of your disobedience and your
many sins. You used to live in sin, just like
the rest of the world, obeying the devil, the commander
(13:22):
of the powers of the unseen world, the prince of
the power of the air. He is the spirit at
work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
All of us used to live that way, following the
passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our
very nature, we were subject to God's anger just like
(13:45):
everyone else. But God so rich in his mercy, he
loved us so much that even though we were dead
because of our sins, he gave us life when he
raised Messiah from the dead. It is only by God's
grace that you have been saved for eraised us from
(14:05):
the dead along with Messiah and seated us with him
in the heavenly realms because we are united with Messiah.
Issue the enemy knows where you're seated. The enemy knows
that complete victory lies in the future. But victory in
(14:28):
the supernatural spiritual realm has been taken. And in the meantime,
the coming day of evil is what dominates our efforts.
Oh that evil day in the Bible, referenced in Ephesian
six thirteen, signifies the time of spiritual struggle and attack,
(14:51):
when believers are called to be prepared and stand firm
against the evil forces. I say, we're living there now.
It emphasized the importance of wearing the full armor of
God to withstand these challenges. Psalm forty one one tells
us blessed is the one who is considerate of the destitute.
(15:13):
The Lord will deliver him when the times are evil.
Proverbs sixteen four of the Lord has made everything for
his own purpose, even the wicked, for the day of evil,
And we're seeing that now. I'm going to let you
in on a little secret about what happened last night.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
In New York City. Oh, I'm not going to get
into the politics.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
I'm not going to get into the personalities. I'm going
to simply say that when I asked the Lord and
I prayed about it, what he said to me, I'm
going to let them have what they want. I've taken
my hand off. And of course that lines up with
the days of Noah, when the earth was so evil
(15:56):
that mankind chose the fallen over him, and he let
them have what they wanted until it became so bad
that he had to get personally involved and stop what
was going on. When that time comes for us here
and now, it will be just as brutal. The days
of Noah are horrible, awful times, and we are in
(16:21):
the prelude to that. So when we speak of the
day of evil, we're speaking of a time that it's
morally and ethically wicked or malicious, the actions, the thoughts
of individuals the contrary to God's nature and his word.
And of course it denotes the time of haciton and
(16:45):
the fallen and the demonic offspring, which means we have
to pray. John Calvin says our prayer must not be
self centered. It must arise. Not only because we feel
our own need as a burden, but we must lay
upon God. But we also because we're so bound up
(17:07):
in love for our fellow man that we feel of
their need as acutely as our own. To make intercession
for men is the most powerful and practical way in
which we can express our love for them. That's why
we do what we do. That's why we struggle, not
(17:32):
against flesh and blood. We're not battling with physical opponents,
but we're battling with the rulers, the powers, the world,
forces of this present darkness, spiritual forces of wickedness in
the heavenly places. That's what we're doing. Battling with people
(17:55):
individually will not solve anything. It's moment, it's fleeting.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
No.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
The battle that we have demands the armor of God,
demands the breastplate of righteousness. Demands that we stand firm,
holding our ground with the shoes of peace. It demands
that we put on the helmet of salvation and we
hold up the shield of faith, and we grab the
sword of the Spirit. And it demands that with all
(18:24):
prayer and petition, praying with specific requests at all times,
on every occasion, in every season, and in the spirit
we stay alert, we persevere, and we petition the throne
for all of God's people. It demands it. If you
(18:50):
can't see that, I don't know how to get that
across to you. But maybe that's why you're here. Maybe
you're trying to grasp it. I don't get this spiritual warfare.
Then I've seen the excesses of it.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
I have to.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
I've been around it, and it's heyday, and I couldn't
stop it. I couldn't dissuade people from it, even though
having come out of the Kingdom of darkness knowing what
I knew, trying to get them to understand that you're
playing into the enemy's hands. Sometimes people have to learn
(19:25):
the hard way. Charles Burgeon says something I totally agree with.
I would rather teach one man to pray than ten
men to preach. Prayer is where the action is. The
armor is the what of spiritual warfare. Prayer as the
how how with all prayer doesn't matter what kind of prayer, petition, supplication, pray, pray,
(19:53):
Pray in the spirit, Pray with understanding, pray in public
with your family, pray hidden in your prayer, closet, pray
at work, Pray on the way to work, Pray at
the gym, Pray out loud, pray silently in your heart
(20:14):
with a voice, without a voice. See, if you love someone,
you'll pray. If you feel his love for others, you'll pray.
You'll stand in the gap for them. And all that's
necessary to do that is to have a heart right
with God. So what's the difference between prayer and supplication.
(20:39):
See we can have prayer that focuses on attaining personal needs.
Supplication is prayer for others. Prayer to avert evil Psalm
sixty one to one through four. Hear my cry, O, God,
attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth.
(21:01):
I will cry to you when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been a shelter for me, a strong
tower from the enemy. I will abide in your tabernacle forever.
I will trust in the shelter of your wings. Lead
(21:21):
me to the rock that is higher than I. That's
what prayer does. It gets you up above, It put
you on solid ground. Strong, continued is sent incessant pleadings
until the evil or the calamity is averted or the
(21:45):
good is communicated, and it should be done in and
through the Holy Spirit. Other human prayers out there. You
can buy books about it, you can buy little beads
and pray this same prayer over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over
(22:07):
and over until it becomes a vain repetition and those
words have no power. And your heart should be engaged
because it's being helped by the Holy Spirit. Praying always
with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, interceding, intervening, mediating,
(22:31):
praying to God on behalf of someone else. What you're
doing is you're warring for them, for their health, for
this salvation, for their well being, for their thoughts, for
their mind, for the family. You are engaged in a
warfare to rescue them from the enemy, from whatever sin
(22:53):
has befallen them, or whatever demon has gotten grasp on them.
A true intercessor bears a sense of burden and responsibility
for what we're praying about. I sit here to day
because people interceded for me. They had a burden for me.
(23:18):
I am the result of that. Some I knew, some
I did not know. Faithless people that submitted to the
spirit and prayed for someone they didn't know about, maybe
they didn't even know my name. When we care for someone,
(23:39):
we'll pray for them. As John Calvin said, it won't
be self centered. It won't be just because we have
a need. It'll be because we have love for our
fellow man, and we feel.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Their need.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
As intensely as we do our own, so that when
we pray, it's coming from our heart. Prayer it's something
we can all do. Not everyone's called to do what
I do for the Kingdom of God. It took me
(24:18):
a while to learn that trying to teach everybody how
to do what I do because it was glamorous and
exciting and everybody thought that's what they wanted to do
until they actually got to experience it and realized, yeah, no,
I don't want to do this. I know I joke
about it, but that's actual reactions to hey, I'd like
(24:39):
to come with Sartine and see what you do. And
then when they get that first encounter with that thing
that drops their stomach and buckles their knees, it's like, uh, yeah, no, no,
I don't really want to do this, but you can
pray you can excede from a distance. You know what
we call aerial support. You can attack in prayer. You
(25:02):
can take on the burden of another's salvation, their healing,
the restoration of their family. You can plunder the goods
of the kingdom of darkness through prayer. And even if
you don't know how to pray, the Spirit will guide you.
That's what Romans eight twenty six twenty seven is about.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Likewise, the Spirit.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Also helps in our weaknesses, for we do not know
what we should pray for as we ought, but the
Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered. Now, he who searches the hearts and minds
of the Spirit is because he let me stop here
(25:49):
for a second. And I know I'll say this, and
I don't know if you believe it. When the Spirit
shows up, something happens. Everything shifts. What was once two
dimensional suddenly becomes three dimensional. And even more, all these
layers come out, the word becomes three d.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
That's what being in the.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Spirit is all about, opening yourself up to the Holy
Spirit so that he can use you. Because he grieves
over a broken family, he grieves over a lost loved one.
He grieves over people that willingly walk off the path
into the darkness, into the mouth of the lion. And
(26:33):
that's why I'll wake us up to pray. That's why
I'll even say, hey, I need you to go here
and do this verse twenty seven in Romans eight twenty six.
Now he capital h who searches the heart, knows what
the mind of the spirit is, because he makes intercession
for the saints according to the will of God. Oh,
(26:54):
there it is. The intercession for us is according to
the will of God. That means God the Father wants it.
And who will we to interfere with what our heavenly
father wants. He accepts believers prayer, He accepts our praises
(27:15):
because of Messiah's intercession for us at his right hand.
The Cross secured the removal of sin. The resurrection bestowed
life unto those who believe in him. The ascension brought
the exultation to power all power in heaven and earth.
(27:35):
And from that position he's interceding for us on the
throne even right now. Who comes to mind as I'm speaking,
Whose soul you praying for? Whose heart are you praying for?
What family are you praying for what victory? Are you
praying for what came to mind at that moment as
(27:56):
I was saying that the reason it came to mind
is because the Lord is thinking about it from the throne.
He never sleeps, he never slumbers, he never gets tired.
We should understand that prayers at all times. Some five
verses one through three, David says, give ear to my words,
(28:19):
O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice
of my cry, my King and my God. For to
you I will pray. He's praising him. While he's praying
to him, my King and my God, my voice you
shall hear in the morning.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
In the morning, I will direct it to you, and
I will look up.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
So I mentioned this last week, but it's very important
that we come back to this. Are you starting your
day in prayer? Are you ending your day in prayer?
If you have to make a schedule, say okay, I'm
gonna pray when I get up, I'm gonna pray when
I go to bed. This is when I take lunch
during the day, this is when I take a break.
(29:03):
Whatever set your times and pray. I'm at a place
in my life, in my walk I don't have to
set a time to pray. I have to set a
time to do other things, because that's all I want
to do. I want to pray. I want to hear
his voice. I want to be in the throne room.
I want to be destroying the work of the enemy.
I want to be setting the captives free. I want
to go off into the darkness and rescue the lamb
(29:25):
that has wandered away, reaching into the lion's mouth and
getting it unharmed out of the lion's grasp. Cry out
to him in the morning, cry out to him at night.
If he puts something on your heart to pray about,
don't fail him. Don't fail that person. I don't care
(29:48):
who you want, don't care how long you've been saved.
I don't know scripture like you, Richard. I can't pray
like you. You know why I pray the way I
do because I spend so much time doing it. In
the beginning, I had a wead scriptures out loud. I
had to follow a formula until the Spirit took me
over and showed me how to pray. The more word
(30:08):
that's in you is the more word that come out
of you. Prayer will cause someone to cease from their sins,
and otherwise sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.
John Bunyan said that, you know, these people said these
profound things, but when you realize that it's just spiritual
(30:32):
common sense, pray against those things which tempt you. Otherwise
those things that tempt you will eventually stop you from praying.
You know that word in Ephesians six to twelve wrestle.
There's an interesting correlating word for it in the strongs.
It's vibrate. Interesting, how do we tie the word vibrate
(30:59):
to wrestling? Well, think about it. If I'm wrestling against
a supernatural entity, which is power, which is electrical magnetic
power that cannot be destroyed. Remember, can only be altered,
can't be destroyed. So everything that has been cast down,
thrown down, locked up, still exists. So that word vibrate,
(31:24):
which means to emit with or as if a vibratory motion,
you know, like when you blow into a wind instrument,
the air vibrates, the reed creates a sound. So spirit
filled prayer and praise for the Lord, whether it's verbal
or musical, emits or transmits his energy inside of us.
(31:51):
It projects the spirit from with which we pray. That's
why the enemy knows you're doing It's there are times
when you're praying like that you can even feel it.
I talked about it moments where in the midst of
that kind of prayer I literally began to vibrate like
(32:12):
a tuning. For first time it happened. He kind of
freaked me out, And then I realized what was happening.
I had tapped in to his resonance. I had come
into harmony with him. I believe he holds everything together
by his essence, by what he emits, by the life
(32:34):
force that comes from him on the throne. So when
we pray in the spirit, when we praise the Lord
and the Spirit, it gives off a vibration. The enemy
knows it. Remember back in the sixties, they would talk about,
you know, vibes, good vibes, bad vibes. They were onto
(32:54):
something or the fallen had given people a clue into
what they had learn, learned and seen.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
In the throne room.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Remember, anything the enemy teaches as a counterfeit of what
it learned in the throne room. So fervent prayer changes
the atmosphere and the outcome.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
That's how when you pray.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Somebody will know that you're praying for them, They'll feel it,
and it creates a strength, a boldness. One of the
special marks of the Apostolic Church, the Book of Act Church,
was its boldness that came from prayer. That the prayer
that shook the kingdom of darkness shook the kingdom of men.
(33:42):
Go with me to Acts chapter four, starting verse eighteen.
Let's see some practical applications of what I'm talking about.
And remember, as we speak, hopefully you're taking notes or
you're downloading this and going back, and thank you. I've
noticed an increase in the number of people downloading the
teachings so that they.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Can go back over it, because what we're.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Talking about can be put into play right now in
this warfare against the darkness. Acts chapter four, starting verse eighteen.
Peter and John have been arrested. They spend the night
in jail. They get called to them, and they command
them not to speak at all or teach in the
(34:29):
name of you. Shua and Peter and John answered and
said to them, whether it is right in the sight
of God to listen to you? More than God you judge,
for we cannot but speak the things which we have
seen and heard. So when they further threaten them, they
let them go, finding no way to punish them because
of the people who have seen everything were waiting outside
(34:53):
and glorified God for what they had done. And the
healing of the man at the gate beautiful that caused
this was over forty years old, on whom the miracle
of healing had been performed. So Peter and John were saying, yeah,
we hear what you're saying, but we cannot and will
not lie about the things we have seen and heard.
(35:15):
And Satan speaking through them is essentially saying, shut up
and stop threatening my kingdom. No, can't, won't. The Lord
said when that they would receive power when the Holy
Spirit came upon them, and they would be witnesses to
(35:36):
him in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria to the end
of the earth. The next one, verse eight, They immediately
started doing that instinctively. There was no Hey, guys, we're
going to go out today and we're we're going to
be witnesses for him, So everybody got your witness card,
(35:57):
you're wearing your ass and get your little name tags. No,
they just did it. It was instinctive. It came out
of them because of the Holy Spirit. We need to
become natural like that. They were arrested, they spent a
night in jail. They were threatened, and their attitude is no,
we can't stop. We we won't stop. They were following the
(36:21):
Lord's orders as the captain of the host, and they
believed in the truth of the gospel that they were preaching,
and they rejected all efforts to stop them from speaking
in the name of Jesus, the name of Yueshua, the
name above all names. We're seeing it around the world.
That hasn't come to America yet, but I'm telling you
(36:43):
that it will at some point. And I'm praying that
Americans will be less compliant than people have been overseas.
We're more of a people that are willing to fight back.
Picking it up in verse twenty three of Acts four.
So they were let go, and they went to their
own companions and reported all that the chief priests and
(37:06):
elders had said to them. So when they their brothers
and sisters and the Lord heard that, they raised their
voice to God with one accord and said, Lord, you
are God who made heaven and earth and the sea,
and all that is in them. Who, by the mouth
of your servant David, have said, why did the nations
rage and the people plot vain things? The kings of
(37:29):
the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered
together against the Lord and against his Messiah. Well that's
the powers of darkness. That's that four levels gathering together
against the King, against the Messiah, but truly against your
Holy Servant, Yeshua, whom you anointed both herod and punctuous
(37:50):
pilot with the gentiles and the people of Israel were
gathered together to do whatever your hand and your purpose
determined before to be done. Now, Lord, look on their
threats and grant to your servants that with all boldness
they may speak your word by stretching out your hand
(38:12):
to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done
through the name of your Holy Servant.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Is sure?
Speaker 1 (38:19):
See the thing about praying, the reason you want the
word inside of you, the reason you want to understand
so that you can repeat it back. You are petitioning
the throne. You are reminding him of what he's already done.
What did they do, your Holy Servant, your anointed, your hand,
(38:40):
your purpose, your servants, your word. It wasn't about them
or what they thought.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
It was about him.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
The focus of their prayer was on God. And they
came together and they raised their voice to God, spontaneous
outbursts of praise.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
And song and prayer. If you have never.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Been in spontaneous prayer, a song, praise, and felt what
the angels were doing and what the enemy was doing,
and suddenly it felt like the throne room had come down.
Amongst your mists, You're missing out on a tremendous experience.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Try it.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Begin to praise him, begin to exalt him, begin to
speak his word back to him. Isaiah thirty seven sixteen, Oh,
Lord of Host, God of Israel, the one who dwells
between the Cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all
the kingdoms on the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
(39:43):
God's hand controls and directs events to achieve his purpose.
What his will determines to happen, will happen. His power
will make it happen Ephesians nine, verse one. For all
this I took the heart, exploring and examining it all.
(40:03):
How the righteous, the upright and right standing with God,
and the wise and their works are in the hands
of God. No power, no army, no government, no man
made counsel can stand in his way. So they were
appealing to the Throne Room. And their answer came from
(40:24):
the Throne Room.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
And when they.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Had prayed His verse thirty one. And when they had prayed,
the place where they were assembled together was shaken, and
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And they
spoke the word of God with boldness. So Peter and
John spent the night in jail, threatened.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
What do they do?
Speaker 1 (40:47):
They go looking for their brothers and sisters, and the
Lord who had been praying for them and went into
prayer with them. And they didn't pray for an end
to the persecution. They didn't pray for an easy times. No,
they prayed for more of what He had given them
so they could go out and do it some more.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
There was no fear, there was no pity or whining.
Oh look good they did do.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
No, No, look what they did, and help us to
go do more of it. They prayed the Book of Acts.
Church under attack, being threatened, came together to pray. That
(41:39):
should always be your first response. You're under attack. I
need somebody who could I pray with? Who can I
get on the line, Who can I get on FaceTime?
Who can I get on zoom? Who can I get with?
Let's pray? Let's pray Life application Bible commentary says, notice
how the believers prayed. First, they praised God. Then they
(42:02):
told God their specific problem and ask for his help.
They did not ask God to remove the problem, but
to help them deal with it. This is a model
for us to follow when we pray. We may ask
God to remove our problems, and He may choose to
do so, but we must recognize that often he chooses
(42:25):
to leave our problems in place and then gives us
the strength and the courage to deal with them. The
other thing we learn is the church doesn't pray for
divine vengeance, but for God to consider their threats against
his church. That's pretty powerful, right there. Consider their threats, Lord,
(42:49):
consider what they have leveled against us. They didn't pray
to remove the threats, or to remove the persecution, or
even to protect.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
What did they do?
Speaker 1 (43:02):
They prayed that God would enable them so they could
continue to be a witness and to have great boldness
no matter what they wanted. The displays of His power
to confirm his message, stretching out his hand to heal
and perform, performing miraculous signs and wonders, so that they
(43:28):
would be afraid to do those things, so that His
name would be glorified. We are as a body, as
a church right now, too busy drawing attention to ourselves
to a denomination, abomination, to a building, a person, a ministry,
instead of drawing attention to Him, to the one who
(43:51):
sits upon the throne. They wanted freedom to speak openly
and without the fear of reprisal, that they would do
it without hesitation, and that they would do it with confidence.
And He gave them what they needed, flowing self replicating
(44:12):
power of the Holy Spirit. See if he can trust
you with that, if you're going to use it for
the right things, you'll get it. When I hear people
say to me, well, you know, I don't have those gifts.
I don't move in those gifts, And I just wonder,
why what would you really do with them if you
had them? Mark sixteen twenty tells us that the disciples
(44:36):
went out preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them,
confirming the word through the accompanying signs, and they had
the perfect church building program, not building buildings, but building people.
They preached everywhere. The Lord went with them. He confirmed
the word with signs and wonders.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
And more people came in.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
People want the reality of it. They don't want the
mentality of it. They don't want the personality of it.
They've seen that it has driven people away. I know
because I witnessed the people, and that keep bringing up
the bad things that they've seen about church and leaders
and some of the abominations they've seen. And I will
(45:22):
always say, but that was them, that was man, that's
not the Lord. But they have a hard time separating
it because we have made this concept that the building
and the congregation is church, when actually we are the church.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
I am the Church, you are the Church.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
No, the building program was shown on the day of
Pentecost the next chapter two, when Peter stood up and
preached and said everything he did under the power of
the Holy Spirit, and those who gladly received his word
were baptized, and about in that day about three thousand
souls were add them, and they continued steadfastly in the apostles,
(46:03):
doctrine and fellowship and the breaking of bread and in
prayers hmm. Fellowship breaking bread, which is both eating together
in communion and praying, and fear came upon every soul.
Of many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
Now all who were believed together had all things in common.
(46:26):
They sold their possessions and goods, and divided among them
all as anyone had need. And so continuing daily with
one accord in the temple, breaking bread from house to house,
they eat their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
praising God and having favor with all people. And the
(46:48):
Lord added to the church daily those who are being saved.
That's what an occupying army does. That's how an occupying
army takes over plunders the enemy's camp. Three thousand people saved,
heal and delivered, baptized, set free from bondage and capture,
(47:11):
one hundred and twenty prayed in the upper room and
multiplied themselves to three thy, one hundred and twenty in
one morning. The ongoing campaign against the Kingdom of Darkness.
But don't ever ever forget that the Kingdom of Darkness
has a parallel mirror kingdom, which is doing the exact
(47:34):
opposite of what we're doing, the opposite of the Kingdom
of God. It's inverted its intention and its motivation, and
it's at war with us as much, if not more so,
than we are with it. It's arrogant, it's violent, it
(47:56):
shows no mercy. It's committed to their town. We need
to be committed to ours. And the fire of the
Upper Room was eventually greeted with the Great Fire of
Rome and sixty four AD revival fire met with the
fire of persecution, and that back and forth continues to
(48:20):
this day. The Great Commission is dangerous to the Kingdom
of Darkness, and the Kingdom of God should be extremely
dangerous to the God of this world, his fallen angels,
and their demonic offspring. Never forget, this is a battle.
We're in a war, and every move of God, there
(48:43):
is a move of the enemy, which is why you
can't stop.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
Pray.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
First thing in the morning, I pray for and this
is my example. I'm not telling you what to do,
I'm not telling you how to do it, but I'm
going to give you my example. I get up, I
take the dogs out, or praise. I praise the Lord
under the stars. First thing I pray my home, my family,
(49:10):
my pat's, my possessions. I pray over the mention them
by name, put them under his covering. I pray for healing,
pray for angelic protection. I pray against whatever enemy that
the Lord brings to mind, or that I know is
involved in an attack against us. I pray for divine
(49:30):
health and healing and heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit,
divine favor. And I will repeat that prayer throughout the
day and at the end of the day. And I'll
add to it as the Spirit tells me to add
to it, as he brings things to mind. I'll pray
(49:51):
for others. I'll pray for the port's community. If I
know you by name, your name gets mentioned. If I
know your family, your family gets mentioned. If I know
you have pats, your pets get mentioned. I believe anyone
that has asked me to be there covering. And I
don't want to use the word pastors. I don't like
that term. But a sense of a shepherd guarding against
(50:13):
the wolves. Then I will do what a shepherd supposed
to do. I will stand in the gap between the
flock and the wolves, prayer empowered by the Holy Spirit
in you, not just in your mind, but in your spirit.
Jude twenty says, but you beloved, building yourselves up on
(50:36):
your most.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
But I don't know how to do that ritual, then
ask the Holy Spirit to help you, and then just
follow what He puts on your mind. If you need
to make a tangible list, I will tell you that
when I first started doing that a long time ago,
I had an actual list of names that I went
over first my family by name that I would cover
(51:05):
Larry's family and any member of SRT, and I would
cover my family, I would cover friends, I would I
would intercede for people. It got to the point that
because of doing it that way with a schedule, with
the list that.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
I wrote out, my prayer time was two and three hours.
Then I had.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
To let the Spirit guide me. Who am I praying
about today? Who am I praying for today? Specific ones
will happen every day. Others are accordance with the Spirit.
As he guides me, he empowers my prayer. Therefore he
directs my prayer. If I pray for America, if I
(51:48):
pray for political leaders, if I pray for world leaders,
if I pray for something that's happening in the world,
or something that we're all concerned about I'll let him
guide me how to pray. I'll know the screws that
pertain to those things. I'll speak his word back to him.
I'll remind him of the prayer Jabez, and i'll read
(52:09):
it to him, and I'll say, and Jabez did not
have the covenant or relationship with you that I do.
So I'm believing that you can do better with me,
so that I can do better for you. Get people
saved here and delivered plunder the kingdom of darkness. It's
always got to be about him, fervent prayer. Colossians three,
(52:31):
verses one and two. Therefore, you have been raised with
Messiah to a new life, sharing his resurrection from the dead.
Keep seeking the things that are above, where Messiah is
seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind
and keep focused habitually on the things above, the heavenly things,
(52:51):
not on the things that are on the earth. We
have only temporal value. So if I set my mind
and I stay focused habitually on the things that are above,
the heavenly things, and not on the things that are
on the earth, which only have temporal value, then I
will do what I will set my mind on things
above to pray. It's so simple. I don't care who
(53:15):
you are. You can do this, and let the Lord
be your example. Look what he says in Matthew six,
starting verse five. When you pray, you shall not be
like the hypocrites. For they love to pray, standing in
the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that
they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you,
(53:35):
they have their reward, but you, when you pray, go
into your room, and when you've shut your door, pray
to your father, who is in the secret place. And
your father, who sees in secret, will reward you openly.
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as
the Keathens do, for they think that they'll be heard
(53:57):
for their many words. First thing, you notice it he
expected them to pray, And when you pray, he expects
us to pray. He expects us to be focused on
the prayer and not the repeating of the words. Oh,
you know what I'm talking about. I don't really have
to go there, do I. And it's not just any
(54:17):
one group of believers. Every group has their repetition, every
group has their ritual prayers. Just let it flow. Naturally
become dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. Life application Bible
commentary says, if they really wanted to fellowship with God,
(54:38):
should had suggested that they go alone into a room
to close the door and pray. That room was usually
some inner room without windows, a storeroom, a secret place.
Prayer in public is subject to you know you, being
concerned over the correct word usage, political correctness, even pride.
(55:00):
Private prayer enables believers to pour out their hearts to God,
to express their true inner feelings, and to listen in
quietness for God's answer. Don't be like them, the babbling pagans.
For your Father knows the things you have need of
before you ask him in this manner. Therefore pray, Ah,
(55:26):
here we are the Lord's prayer. It's model prayer. I
think it's more than that. I think it's a declaration
of war. I think it is really he very quietly
slipped us into a position of being an adversary against
the enemy our father in heaven.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
Hallow'd be your name, your kingdom. Come.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily breton. Forgive us our
debts as we forgive our debtors, and do not lead
us into a temptation, but deliver us from the evil one,
for yours is the kingdom and the power and the
glory forever.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
I'm in.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
Simple prayer doesn't mean you have to repeat it without
thinking about it. I want you to think about it
when you say it, and I want you to say
it out loud and watch things change. Frederick buck Knows,
an American author, preacher, and theologian, says we do well
not to pray the Lord's prayer lightly.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
It takes guts to pray it at all. To speak
those words.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Which is to invite the tiger out of the cage,
to unleash a power that makes atomic power look like
a warm breeze, the refrain of a promise that will
soon be fulfilled. Someday it will be on earth as
it is in heaven, and until then we praise him
(56:56):
and we pray. The Book of Acts Church learned this
the hard way. What I'm sharing with you they learned
experientially from their onset. Prayer was the way of life
in the building of the Church. When Peter in Acts
twelve is released from jail by the Angel, what does
(57:18):
he find He goes back in after he gets out
to the house of Marry the mother of John John Mark,
and guess what. They were gathered there and they were praying,
were already talked about Acts four Church, praying for boldness
to keep going and doing the job. So why is it,
(57:38):
with those examples right there and writing, why can't we
get it done? So? How does Paul ender his Ephesian
six Armor of God things? Praying always in the spirit,
at all times and on every occasion.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
This is verse eighteen.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Stay alert and be person persistent in your prayers for
all believers everywhere, and pray for me too. Ask God
to give me the right words so that I can
boldly explain God's mysterious plan that the good News is
for the Jews and the Gentiles alike. I'm in chains
(58:18):
now and still preaching this message as God's ambassador, So
pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him
as I should. They were under attack from religious authorities,
from secular authorities, and the United together in prayer and
(58:43):
kept going, and God dramatically answered those prayers because He
answers fervent prayer that is properly focused, not prayers that
are all over the place or shotgun.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
You know, your prayer into the.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
Heavenly is hoping you hit something, but no laser like
focus onto a topic, onto a cause, onto a person.
So why are you pounding this drum so hard? Richard Well,
I started out by telling you some things that are
going on in the world, some things that are going
(59:20):
on in the city of my youth, some things that
are going on in America, some things that are going
on in Israel. And then I'm reminded of one Peter four
to seven. I read it to you last week. I'll
read it again. This is the amplified version of that
the end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore,
(59:43):
be sound minded and self controlled for the purpose of prayer,
staying balanced and focused on the things of God, so
that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific, and please
to Him.
Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
The end of all things is near.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
If you pray for carnal things, it will show that
a carnal heart, and it will stay carnal. It will
stay fleshly, fervent, spirit inspired. Prayer is the key in
the hand of faith to unlock God's treasures. A family
(01:00:30):
without prayer is like a house without a roof. It's
exposed to every wind that blows and every storm that rages.
Prayer will inspire someone to stop sinning, or that sin
will stop them from praying. I've seen that time and
time again. Do you profess to love someone who you've
(01:00:54):
never prayed for? See, prayer isn't hard to work. It's
heart work.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
In prayer.
Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
It's better to have a heart without words than to
speak words without heart. And finally, pray not only in
the name of the Lord, but pray in the powerful
faith and love of the Lord. Fervent prayer. Abbah, Papa.
(01:01:28):
We want to pray. We want to know how to pray.
We want to pray better. We want to pray in
the morning, we want to pray in the evening. We
want to pray at all times. And the spirit.
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
We want to pray from the heart filled with power
and love.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
And the dynamic, explosive, vibrational self replication power of the
Holy Spirit. We want to tear down strongholds, break open
prison doors, clear mind, set the captives free, spreading your word,
shining the light ins of the darkness. So right now, Abbah,
(01:02:10):
as I pray for your children, I pray that you
would take this prayer and resonate it into their hearts
and their minds and their soul and this spirit. I
pray that you would bless them first with the infilling
of the Holy Spirit, all the manifestation of all the gift,
and the productions of all the fruit, so that they
(01:02:32):
can do what you need them to do in this hour,
individually and corporately. They can speak with power and with love,
and that their prayers would change things, change the atmosphere,
change lives, their own and others. I pray that you
(01:02:53):
would bless them right now, wrap them in the garment
of praise and the anointing of prayer, so that they
can take their stand for you in this hour. And
I pray that they would do it. In the name
(01:03:14):
above all names, you show Ahamashiah, Jesus the Messiah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the
Lord make his face to shine upon you, me gracious
to you. May the Lord I don't know you show Ahamashiah,
Jesus the Messiah, lift up his countenance upon you and
give you peace, Give you shallow. I'm Richard Grandis has
