(03:23):
through the Book of John. And today we are in
John chapter twenty, coming at you from the new King, James.
This is the tomb is empty, he is risen. That
is the title for today's podcast. So let's go ahead
and go before the Father. Oh Heavenly Father. Thank you,

(03:45):
Father God, Oh Lord, for allowing us to open our
eyes yet again, Father God, for allowing us to start
our day. Father God, in your word, in your presence,
O God, thank you, Father God for your throne. Oh God,
it is a privilege that we can come be for
the throne of grace, So God, before the mercy, see Lord,
and received grace in an hour of need. Father, help

(04:07):
us to really understand what happened that day of Resurrectional God,
the death of burial and the resurrection. Lord, that you
paid the price the penalty for us, So God, so
that we may live and not die. O God, we
thank you, We praise you in Jesus name. Amen. Amen.

(04:31):
All right. Well, our last episode, we saw Jesus on
the cross. We saw that Jesus was innocent. Conscious pilot
knew that this was an innocent man. He found no
fault in him, nothing worthy of death. Right. But the Jews,

(04:56):
they said, according to their law, it needs to be
put to death because of blasphemy, and so Jesus said
that they had the greater sin. And also we saw
a barratus was released. He was a robber. This man

(05:17):
was guilty, a violent man, but he was allowed to
go free. How Jesus had to take the penalty. And
this is a perfect view of what he has done
for us. We are guilty, we are the barratus in
the story, all of us are. But Jesus was condemned

(05:44):
and he took our punishment. Hey, man, that needs to
drop in our spirit. We need to be grateful, We
need to thank God. Take a second just to say,
thank you Lord, Thank you for going to the cross.
Thank you Lord for paying the price for our freedom.

(06:05):
A man, Jesus naw So. Now he's been in the grave,
has been three days. On the third day he rose again.
So let's take a look at the continuation of this story.
Because death was not the end for Christ, and death

(06:27):
will not be the end for us. Ay man, it
was the beginning, all right. So we're gonna jump in
verse one. We're gonna go from one to two. And
he says, now, the first day of the week, Mary
Magdalene went to the tomb early while it was still dark,

(06:52):
and saw that the stone had been taken away from
the tomb. And she ran in and came to Simon
Peter and to the other disciples whom Jesus loved, and
said to them, they have taken away the Lord out
of the tomb, and we do not know where they

(07:16):
have laid him a man. Now, notice now the first
day of the week. It marks the beginning of the
new creation. Now, I know some people get hung up
on what day we are to worship. We know that
the seventh Day of ventists at the seventh Day adventists.

(07:39):
If that's what seventh Day adventists, I think, I don't know,
I'm messing up the word. But we know that they
believe that it has to be Saturday on the Sabbath
as the day of worship. But here it speaks of
the first day of the week. This is the new beginning, right,

(08:06):
number eight is the number of new beginnings. And so
we worship him on Sunday, and we consider that the
resurrection day. But and nothing to divide over. We're not
gonna fight and argue every day it should be a
day of worship. Amen, every second should be a day

(08:27):
of worship. Hallelujah. Now, the grace of dawn, Mary in
love and in her devotion for the Lord came before
it was even sunrise. She got up early and her

(08:48):
devotion to him. Now that's a good example for us.
You need to get up early before the household wakes up,
before we have to start our day, our prayer. Life
should start our day every day, like we don't know

(09:09):
what tomorrow may bring, We don't know what we have
to face through the day. But when we start the
day with prayer, we're better equipped and we invite the
Lord to come with us. We need to ask him like,
what's the plan for today's what's the strategy? And man,
the Holy Spirit is here to help us, and we

(09:32):
need to take advantage of that. Amen. She came before summrise,
but yet where she found was gonna shake the world. Amen.
She found an empty tomb. Now, Mary came expecting to mourn.

(09:56):
She came to the tomb and she I wanted to
mourn and lament our Savior. Amen, but she found victory instead. Hallelujah.
That's a word for somebody today.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
You might be walking into a situation expecting death, expecting
the worst, expecting to mourn, but God already moved the stone.
When God's done an amazing miracle, it can confuse even

(10:46):
our closest friends. This is nothing short of amazing, yo.
I mean, come on, the Bible said said he will
turn our morning into dancing. Sorrow may last for a night,

(11:10):
but joy comes in the morning. Hallelujah. All right, let's
go to verse three. We're gonna go all the way
to verse eight. Peter therefore went out and the other disciples,
and we're going to the tune. So they both ran together,

(11:32):
and the other disciple outran Peter. Now I think that's
pretty interesting. You know, this is John right, he outran
He was faster than Peter and came to the toune first.
I wonder if they're in heaven like racing right now.
And he stooping down and looking in, saw the linen

(11:56):
clothes lying there. Yet he did not go in. And
Simon Peter King following him and went into the tomb.
And he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the
handkerchief that had been around his head not lying with
the linen cloth, but folded together in a place by itself,

(12:23):
and the other disciple who came to the tomb first
went in also, and he saw and believed, for as
yet they did not know the scripture that he must
rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away

(12:44):
again to their own homes. Hey, man, this is good.
Let's break this down. Now, the linen cloth that was
left in place, provided that there was no death right.

(13:05):
The linen cloth that was left there, it proved that
no one stole the body, right, because it would have
been easy for the Sadducees and the Pharisees to accuse
the disciples of stealing the body of Christ to perpetrate
deception in the land. But the fact that the cloth

(13:30):
was still there, she bunks that Jesus passed right through
the grave. Clothes now, the knapkin folded separately signified completion,
like a master who's done with his work. Right. Let's

(13:53):
think of a master chef. I know my brother's own three.
That's one of the things that he likes to do
is he likes to cook. And I imagine you have
your apron or your jacket or whatever you wear when
you're in the kitchen and you're cooking, and you whip

(14:17):
up that masterpiece. I'm getting hungry as I talk right zone,
I still, man, I still haven't had any of your cooking. Man,
I need to come and taste some of your food. Brother. Anyway,
that's a side note, but I'm pretty sure once you're done,
you take your apron, you fold it up, you put

(14:38):
it away, or you hang it up on the wall.
You set it to a side to signify that it
is finished. All the seasoning, all the stirring, all the ingredients,
all the cutting, it's all done and is ready to
be prepared. And so the work that the Lord came

(15:01):
to doing this earth is completed. It's finished now. Notice
John saw and he believed sometimes seeing the evidence of
God's order and chaos builds our faith. Let me say

(15:25):
that again, seeing the evidence of God, God's order in
the midst of chaos, because this is a chaotic situation,
it helps with our faith. The folded napkin says, it's finished.
God doesn't leave loose ends at all. Hey, man, he

(15:48):
came to do a work, and he completed that work
that he came to do. Alright, eleventh through sixteen. But
Mary stood outside by the tomb, weeping, And as she wept,
she stooped down and looked into the tomb, and she

(16:11):
saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head
and the other at the feet where the body of
Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, a woman,
why are you weeping? She said to them because they

(16:31):
have taken away my lord, and I do not know
where they have laid him. Now, when she had said this,
she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, did not
know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, woman,
why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? Jesus, supposing

(16:59):
him to be the gardener, said to him, sir, if
you have carried him away, tell me where you have
laid him, and I will take him away. And Jesus said, Mary,
now I want you to notice a couple of things here.
The angels referred to her as woman.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Right.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
I just thought that was significant because this is a
different race of creation. They are angels, we are humans,
and they refer to her, and they asked the question
why are you weeping? And then when Jesus appeared to her,
when she didn't know it was the Lord, he repeats

(17:49):
the same statement, woman, why are you weeping? Look at
the unity and the oneness of Heaven is in harmony.
Their words agreed with the words of Jesus, and he added,

(18:12):
whom are you seeking? A man? I pray that we
will have unity down on this earth. Amen. Now Jesus
revealed himself first to Mary, showing his love for the
humble and the devoted. We need to keep a humble

(18:37):
posture before the Lord. We need to be able to
receive correction and instruction from the Word of God and
from the Holy Spirit. We need to be able to adjust,
because if we don't change our thinking, we're not going
to change our behavior. That's why we have to renew
our minds. That's why we have to meditate on the word.

(18:58):
That's why we have to memorize it quote speak it
out on a consistent basis. Heymen, we need to be
humbled and devoted. Now it's amazing right here. Let me

(19:22):
go back to the chapter right that she thought he
was and I'm right here in verse fifteen, Jesus, why
are you weeping? Who do you seek? She's supposing him
to be the gardener. She said to him, sir, if
you have carried him away, tell me where you have

(19:45):
laid him, and I will take him away.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
In my mind, I picture her like putting her arms
around him and lifting him up and walking away with him.
And I imagine Jesus was a man, right, Jesus was
a muscular He probably would have been too heavy, but
she was willing her love and devotion for him. She

(20:13):
was willing to pick him up and carry him away.
Or maybe you know there was a cart nearby where
she could have placed him in a cart and wheeled
them off. Or maybe she would have went and got
help from the disciples to carry him away. But she
was willing to take care of him even in death.

(20:36):
And Jesus said to her Mary, and she turned and
said to him, rabbi, which is to say, teacher. Just
from one word, right, Jesus revealed himself first to Mary,
and her tears were turned into joy with only one word,

(21:00):
her name. He knows our names. He knows your name
as well. One word from Jesus can flip your whole
life around. Let me say that again, one word. All
it takes is one word from Jesus, and it can

(21:20):
flip your whole life around. What started in heartbreak became
a resurrection encounter. It started off in mourning, It started
off in heartbreak. She thought she was gonna go mourn
at this tomb, but it turned to be victorious. Stay

(21:45):
faithful even through your tears, beloved, because God is able
to resurrect anything. Resurrection is coming. Hallelujah. All right, let's
go to verse nineteen. Actually, hold on, we left off

(22:11):
from sixteen. Okay, so let's go to verse seventeen. Jesus
said to her, do not cling to me, for I
have not yet ascended to my father. But go to
my brother and say to them, I am ascending to
my father and your father, and to my God and

(22:34):
your God. Hallelujah. How would you love Jesus to say
that to you right now? My father is your father,
My God is your God. Hallelujah. And also when I
read that before, when Jesus says, don't cling to me,

(22:58):
I thought maybe she was hugging him around the neck,
or maybe physically clinging to him and not wanting to
let her let him go, which it could be that,
but now I think more so, don't cling to me,
as in you know how we can cling to a
person we don't want we need that person in our lives.

(23:18):
We don't want that person to go away, because he
says that I go to my Father, and so he
knew that he was sending the spirit. Like in this
form she cannot cling to him physically at the moment,
but later she would be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

(23:41):
So I don't know, just some food for thought. I'll
let you guys study that and go further in that.
But I thought that was pretty interesting. Then Mary Magdalene
came and told the disciples that she has seen the
Lord and that he had spoken these things to her.

(24:03):
Then the same day, at evening, being the first day
of the week. See there goes the first day again Sunday,
when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled
for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in
the midst and said to them, peace be with you.

(24:26):
When he said this, he showed them his hands in
his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw
the Lord. Hallelujah. I imagine, so we're going through fear,
we're going through sorrow in the morning. I can imagine

(24:50):
the relief that they experienced. So Jesus said to them again,
peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I
also send to you. And when he had said this,
he breathed on them and said to them received the

(25:12):
Holy Spirit. If you forgive sins of any, they are
forgiven them. If you retain the sins of any, they
are retained. Wow, he has giving them power. Hallelujah. Now
let's break this down real quick. Now, if you look

(25:36):
at the breeding, when Jesus breathed on the disciples, this
represented new creation or regeneration. Now, keep in mind there
are two separate experiences that we experience in the spiritual realm.

(25:56):
Before we get saved, the spirit man in us is dead,
but once we receive Christ, our spirit man comes back
to life. Then the second experience is the empowerment when
we are baptized with the Holy Spirit. So if you've
been saved, you need to take another step and ask

(26:19):
the Lord to baptize you and empower you with the
Holy Spirit. But in this situation, the spirit represents new life.
The spirit brings new life, just as God breathed into Adam.

(26:39):
It's the same thing. The resurrected Christ gives the Spirit
to empower his believers. Amen. That's how we get power
is through the spirit. And Jesus walks right through the
doors right No Burier can stop his presence. The same

(27:04):
spirit he breathed is still moving through us today. It's
still here, It's still in us. The Church is born here. Family,
we need to walk in the spirit, and we need
to build a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah a man.

(27:35):
All right, let's go to verse twenty four. We'll take
it through twenty nine. Now, Thomas called the twain, one
of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
The other disciples therefore said to him, we have seen
the Lord. So he said to them, unless I see

(28:00):
his hands and the print on his nails, of the nails,
and put my finger into the print of the nails,
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe. Wow.
Thomas wanted proof. And after eight days his disciples were

(28:25):
again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the door
began being shut, and stood in the mist and said,
peace be with you. Then he said to Thomas, reach
your finger here, and look at my hands, and reach

(28:49):
your hand here and put it into my side, and
not be unbelieving, but believing. Thomas answered and said to him,
my Lord and my God. Jesus said to him Thomas,
because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are

(29:11):
those who have not seen and yet have believed. And truly,
Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples,
which are not written in his book. But these are
written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,

(29:33):
the Son of God, and that believing you may have
life in his name. Hallelujah, Life in the name of
the Son of God. Now Thomas, here came through touch.

(30:06):
That came through touch for Thomas his faith. But Jesus
declared a greater blessing for those who believe without seeing
a thing. Now, beloved, don't miss Jesus because you have
some doubts. You might be doubting some things. Thomas wanted proof,

(30:29):
but faith doesn't always come with evidence. Sometimes it comes
with an encounter. When you meet the risen king, your
heart will say, my Lord and my God. But these
things were written that you may believe that Jesus is

(30:53):
the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you
may live in his name. Now, this is the whole
purpose of the Gospel of John, belief leading to life,
not religion, but a relationship. This chapter is proof that

(31:18):
Jesus defeated death. Hallelujah. You need to give him a
praise right there. Jesus defeated death, destroyed doubt, and he
delivered destiny to all those who believe. We all have
a destiny, we all have a purpose. God has a

(31:39):
plan for all of us. You've got resurrection power living
inside you. Now all you have to do is walk
in it. Amen. If your belief does it lead you

(32:01):
to life, that you are believing the wrong thing. Amen.
Hello Lujah, let's take a quick break.

Speaker 4 (32:15):

They had some jobs they responded to, but nothing crazy

Speaker 5 (34:20):
The knight was dragging their Then the radio would started bugging.

They s flamed the car doors.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
They took their guns after the host its, just to
be sure. He knocked on the door, shouted the police
was here.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Nothing happy kept him waiting there, so much to fear.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
He screamed again, and that's Partner looking through the window,
saw a figure running through the house.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
That must be him.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Over They both hurried around the back to try and
catch him. There adrenaline at full speed, no time to think,
no time to care.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Saw on the suspect play out the back door.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
They screamed down, went alias, but ignore it, I'm some
bid to stay.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Were trailing right behind him. Then all of a sudden
they couldn't find him.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Their heart stopped. They looked around, looked around. There was
silence everywhere. It was scary, not a sound. Then out
of nowhere, shots ready, shaving off the walls. They ran
for cover, but the bullets never stalled. He tried to
move out the way, it was too late. A shot
bullet for his chest. The pain was too great. He
fell to the floor, gasping for assormers. Partner running to me.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
He was praying he'd be there.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
He closed his eyes gently thought about his wife and daughter.
His wife was in his dreams, all the promises he
told her. One of the holds up, but every lay
in his blood. His partner called for back up.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
His Daughter's what.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
He's thinking of a job he gave us life for.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
That's what he did exactly fly.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
He could hear those votes again. I love you, daddy, Daddy,

It looks like you lost only one. All right, all right,
we are back that. It's his sane Lee with I
Love you Daddy, very touching, very emotional. Yeah, this is
exactly what the disciples went through with the death, burial,

(37:06):
and resurrection of our Lord. But their mourning has been
turned into joy Alla lujah with the resurrection power of
Christ and the same spirit that raised him from the
dead lives inside of us. Amen. So it's time for

(37:27):
the accountability partner. This segment was birth out of me
working the altar at church, knowing that the saints are
struggling with the same things that they struggled with a
year ago. It's time to break free is time. Sometimes
we need that accountability partner. We need someone we can
call up and agree together in prayer. Sometimes we need

(37:52):
that person that will pour into us, give us counsel,
give us a word of God. Some times we need
that person that we can walk together with. Amen, hallelujah.
So this is what the segment is about. If you
would like to participate in that, go to the top
left menu on the app, click on podcasts and click

(38:15):
on the accountability partner link. Click on that link, and
then once you do that, fill out the form. Go
over the checklist. It's great to go over it, request
a follow up and someone will call, email or text

(38:39):
so that we could pray together. And here's this week's challenge,
walk in the resurrection power. Ask yourself and my living
like Jesus is alive inside of me? That's a question.
Are you living like Jesus is a life inside of you? Hallelujah?

(39:05):
Ask your partner that talk, discuss it and pray over
it with them. And also his Hot Radio is a

As Director of The Men’s Clinic at UCLA, Dr. Jesse Mills has spent his career helping men understand their bodies, their hormones, and their health. Now he’s bringing that expertise to The Male Room — a podcast where data-driven medicine meets common sense. Each episode separates fact from hype, science from snake oil, and gives men the tools to live longer, stronger, and happier lives. With candor, humor, and real-world experience from the exam room and the operating room, Dr. Mills breaks down the latest health headlines, dissects trends, and explains what actually works — and what doesn’t.
