Jersey Nerds Podcast

Join us fellow jersey nerds as we look at the week that was in hockey jersey and logo news. We are very passionate jersey nerds and we share that passion with other jersey nerds every week on the podcast. Segments on the podcast include Fake or Authentic. The host, Ryan, gives a statement and it's up to the co-hosts to determine whether the statement is Fake or Authentic. Throwback Throwdown matches up jerseys from the past against each other to determine which of them is superior. And sometimes we even dive into the Mailbag to read your questions.... Show More

The Jersey Nerds play a game called "Captain, Coach, Arena". Sean goes up against Bpoe in a heated match-up. Ryan gives them a random team and they have to name that team's captain, coach, and arena. One point for each correct answer is awarded to the players and the person with the most points after five rounds wins the game!

The Colorado Eagles of the AHL will wear Avalanche inspired third jerseys ten times during the 2019-20. We look at the details of the jersey and compare the CCM version of this jersey up against the Adidas version.
Ryan's rating: 7/10
Sean's rating: 6/10
Bpoe's rating: 3.5/10
AVG rating: 5.5/10

Anaheim's orange 3rd jersey is returning after a two year break. It's extremely similar to the previous Reebok version, so it makes sense to compare that version with this new Adidas version.
Ryan' rating: 8.5/10
Sean's rating: 7/10
Bpoe's rating: 8.893/10
AVG rating: 8.131/10

Fake or Authentic returns this week. Are the Flyers the most in need of a new Adidas collar? When do you throw out birthday cards? Where are your expectations for the 2020 NHL All-Star uniforms?

The Throwback Throwdown match-up this week has the 1992 San Jose Sharks teal jersey returning to defend the crown against the 1997 Eastern Conference All-Stars uniform. This was from the game that was held in San Jose...the first time.

The Piketon Massacre
The Piketon Massacre
On the night of April 21, 2016 in rural Piketon, Ohio - eight members of the Rhoden family were viciously murdered execution style in their homes. Two years later in 2018, their neighbors, the Wagners, were arrested and charged with committing the largest massacre in Ohio’s history. Shocked by the arrests, this once close-knit and religious community remains divided and unable to cope. Was a respected and reputable Piketon family responsible for this unimaginable murder spree? Our team will examine the deep ties that connected both families. We’ll examine the evidence and possible motives for the crimes. For the first time we’ll speak with townspeople, psychological experts, respected investigators, friends and members of both families. Are the Wagners responsible for the murders, and if convicted, will they be executed? Or is it possible that there is still a murderer at large waiting to kill again?
