I mean, have you had some Golden Pizza before? Too bad?
Speaker 14 (07:18):
I don't know if I've had that one.
Speaker 8 (07:20):
I think I need to just go and try all time.

like I like to expand a little more money me personally.
Speaker 14 (07:39):
Yeah, what do you what do you wish? What do
you get on a pizza?
Speaker 8 (07:42):
Just just I think it's a large pepperoni or large cheese,
and it's I believe it's six ninety five plus tax,
but right they might have just raised it a little bit.
I have to go in there and check.
Speaker 14 (07:53):
But Golden I messed with it.
Speaker 8 (07:54):
I'll be right there on Golden all And Ted's a
good guy who's been supporting the shows. We really appreciate them.
He gave us a pizza party one time, so okay,
super awesome.
Speaker 13 (08:03):
I can definitely vouch for them anytime you brought it
for us or even Mark brought it, brought it for
the station a couple times and who it was delicious, okay.
Speaker 8 (08:11):
And they do have a chicken salad if you need
ten ninety five plus tax, so it's pretty good in options.
And my mom being diabetic, so we go and get
the chicken salad in just a pizza and then we
only have pizza with no crust, all right, So that's
how we do it. But try our sponsor out man.
And then we also got pal Charter Acadamy, middle School,
(08:34):
high school, and summer school. Pale provides the high quality
instruction every child deserves. Info at palcenter dot org or

(08:57):

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Happy? Happy birthday man, Happy birthday?
Speaker 8 (09:05):
So one second I caught him off guard. We we
even set this up.
Speaker 14 (09:11):
You need to tell happy birthday to Robert.
Speaker 8 (09:15):
Yeah. Yeah, we set up a sound a sound bite.
But I think that this is actually funnier.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
It was supposed to be ready, But here you go.
I got I got you a good wife. Think you
can like.
Speaker 8 (09:36):
Me?
Speaker 7 (09:36):
What I do it.
Speaker 9 (09:39):

Speaker 7 (09:39):
My birthday is a big mood. My birthday is a big.
Speaker 14 (09:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
Happy birthday, man, birthday?
Speaker 14 (09:50):
Did it? Did it?
Speaker 8 (09:51):
Only? It only cut out three seconds of that appene?
Speaker 14 (09:54):
I got you?
Speaker 15 (09:55):
Man?
Speaker 8 (09:56):
Where where are the beeps? Man? Why can't we get
beeps back again?
Speaker 5 (10:00):
That beats.
Speaker 14 (10:01):
What do you means?
Speaker 8 (10:02):
Well, we.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
So we cut off.
Speaker 8 (10:08):
Well they just know they now they just cut like
seconds four seconds.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
But it's just easier we say a bad word.
Speaker 13 (10:15):
Yeah, I think it just gives us engineers a little
bit more time to mess it up, you know, if
we don't hear it and beep, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (10:25):
So that's how it goes. We don't get the beep anymore.
Maybe someplace, maybe we could actually add that in there eventually.
That's more work.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
I'll get your sound bite, especially for your birthday.
Speaker 8 (10:32):
I'm just glad that you catch them once in a
while and we don't get the two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
Fine, right, I got you man.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
Yeah, we love you pal. Charter Academy. Seriously, if you
got a kid that needs some extra love, or you
want them to excel, or you want them to have
an incredible foundation, head on over there. Mister Radden really
has a good head on his shoulders running that spot
(11:01):
with an incredible team. They got a culinary part, they
have an automotives part all brand new, they have a
filming video, They've got uh they're looking at possibly having
a community garden or a garden aspect of it. So
this place is for the kids that really need need
(11:23):
to focus on school too, but they also treat the
kids well. And there's a place for the kids that
need to calm down. They can go and there's a
counselor there, and they got their own chairs and they
can recline. You know that they have an on site cook.
(11:43):
I mean, these are the kinds of things that are
just incredible. So go check out Paul pal Charter Academy
and just see if you like it. It's over there, Muscoy,
It's in the county. You might end up sending your
kids there right away. They also have a middle school
as well and summer school. I went to summer school time.
It was actually cool. I actually had more fun in
(12:04):
summer school than I would have had sitting at home,
you know, playing old video game that already beat or something. Right, So,
so yeah, like you know, consider sending your kids to
get a little head start, you know, maybe for their
their college or their their their future business or whatever
they plan on doing. All right, and we do have
(12:27):
the I love Sam Bernardino stand Out of the Week, right,
so today it is n Os the National Orange Show,
the Citrus Fair. Right, So if if you look at
Instagram na n os p n os and then the
events center will pop right up at the top. You know,
you can like that one, but also like the Citrus
(12:48):
Fair one too, right, And then that's I want to
give them all some props. You know, the security, you know,
the vendors, the the amusement park operators, the right operators,
even the janitorial staff that were you know, picking up
after everybody who's throwing something on the ground. That makes
(13:10):
me mad. But anyways, you shouldn't throw things on the ground, man, Seriously,
that makes me upset. I don't some people. If you're
not teaching your kids to throw your your trash away
directly in a receptacle and if there isn't one, put
it in your pocket, you know you're doing something wrong.
Team Seriously, you know, yeah you're wrong. I don't care
who you are, but yeah, well go in. Then if
(13:34):
you don't think you're wrong, it's all right. But anyways,
I really think that everybody was working hard there and
it would rain. Man. I am the anti curse of
the Orange Show. I don't believe any group whatever curse
life giving rain in a semi herod environment. But that's
(13:54):
what I believe. So I did a little research and
I tried to find out if it's rained on every
every single Orange Show.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
And there has been.
Speaker 14 (14:02):
Studies done because it's April, right.
Speaker 8 (14:04):
It had well, they change it all the time, but
it has not rained on the Orange Show. And the
average is about equal to if you picked any week
during the year and you know, uh, through something and
there's still a possibility of rain, and I think it's
a It equals out about thirty percent of the time.
(14:26):
But for some reason, they've changed orn show a lot,
so it is for it's equaled more times, right, Okay,
but it has not rained every time. So last year
it did not rain on the Orange Show. Okay last year,
not this one last year, but I guarantee everyone remembers
that it rained. Like in my family, they've said it
(14:50):
has rained because of a curse on the Orange Show
for every year since I was a kid. Oh, it's
in my family history. So I wanted to know. So
I went a newspaper. I put in National Orange Show Curse.
I put in the derogatory terms for the curse that
they used to call it. All that stuff right, nothing
(15:12):
until nineteen eighty six. Why because it was used for promotion.
Speaker 14 (15:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (15:18):
There they were having pools on who could pick when
it would rain and you could win a car or
win like sixty bucks or things like that, right, And
I can remember all growing up up in the mountains.
They did that same thing with snow.
Speaker 14 (15:35):
Oh yeah, yeah, so.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
Like you bet you have a pool and you'll be like,
I got this day for five bucks or whatever, and
if you if snows on that day, you win.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Right.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
They did the same thing with rain at the Orange Show.
So that's what I believe the promotion. Now, there are
Native American burials and all across our whole valley, in
the whole area, I mean Native Americans lived here or
for ten thousand or more years. Of course they had
(16:04):
to bury they're dead somewhere, right, So there is a
lot of instances where they were in and like over
a ten thousand years, who knows where if you remember
where people are buried or whatever. So I do believe
there was some burial areas there at the Orange Show.
But so is there another areas?
Speaker 14 (16:27):
Right?
Speaker 8 (16:28):
I don't think you understand what I'm saying. So then
the whole thing you know what I'm saying, but I
don't think salmon Well would do that, or any other
group around here would do that. So I was thinking
it was a little bit derogatory to assume that someone
would curse something like they would do that. Right then
(16:52):
I found out that the same story was attributed to
Gypsies as well. I'll take that back, people of Romanian
deceit Once I heard that that they cursed the Orange
Show too. That's a double story for the same thing team.
That's really suspect, yes, suspect. Now it is possible that
(17:14):
even some people from sam Manuel have heard that same
story their whole life too, like I did. I don't know,
but I don't like I've never heard one of them
tell me that. So until they do, I'm not gonna
know either way.
Speaker 14 (17:29):
We you you certainly do talk to, you know, people
of native heritage in the area, So I feel like,
exactly if you're if you're told that, then we'll heed that.
Speaker 8 (17:40):
Yeah. I just didn't want I don't know, Like I
don't know, I want to attribute something bad to some
group that gives so much greatness to.
Speaker 14 (17:48):
Our area, right right, Okay.
Speaker 8 (17:50):
Yeah, so that's discount of how I look at it.
But anyways, guess what it did this year? Team?
Speaker 7 (17:57):
It rain on The Orne Show.
Speaker 8 (17:59):
Man, Like, what you know this year? I'm absolutely wrong?
It rained on The Orange Show. You guys win it
rained last year too? What No, it did it rain
last year? But they think it did so I basically
I got ran out of a group on Facebook too
for this. They said, you can't let us have one thing,
(18:21):
So I guess the people want the Curse Hunt Arm Show.
Speaker 14 (18:26):
Oh yeah, people. I mean people are pretty invested in
their their folklore, even their inaccurate family history stuff.
Speaker 8 (18:33):
Go a story, whatever it is. So I'm I'm going
to honestly always tell the truth. But I historias sometimes
has multiple truths. So like you know, like you gotta
go with like what do you do when you read
two different stories from two different people from the same event,
You like you kind of have to realize, well, hey,
(18:55):
people remember things differently, and so that's how we're going
with that. But if you want to thank the Orange Show,
the one hundredth and eighth Horn Show for even keeping
it going that long, for even having that tradition, for
us to have didn't have history all around it have
the local salmonad you know, Unified School District Art show
(19:17):
right there in one of their buildings. All those kids
get to go in there have a special event.
Speaker 14 (19:23):
See did you get a chance to go this year
to which one?
Speaker 8 (19:26):
The National Orange Show?
Speaker 15 (19:27):
No?
Speaker 8 (19:28):
Oh man, they had a great exhibit. Oh they have
it every year for the kid's art and they have
a ceramics, photography, paint, all these different mediums.
Speaker 14 (19:40):
You know, I could do a lot of fairs, but
I never go to the Orange Show. Like what's like
the dish like you know, like there's like funnel cake
or ice cream at different places? Like what's like the thing?
What's the street food situation?
Speaker 8 (19:51):
Okay?
Speaker 14 (19:51):
Is it like an orange squeeze lemonade?
Speaker 8 (19:53):
Like vendors right blots lemonade there? To me, the Orange
Show used to be cheese on a stick?
Speaker 14 (19:59):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (20:01):
And I've told the manager there. I've had him in
here and I told him, hey bad, they have cheese curds.
Cheese curds, but I want cheese on a steak. Because
that that's why I would go to the Larange.
Speaker 14 (20:12):
I messed with curds I have. I'm Wisconsin and heritage,
you know, so I messed with curds. So that's it is.
Speaker 8 (20:19):
It's more corporate.
Speaker 14 (20:22):
Okay, some change to the old school, but.
Speaker 8 (20:26):
It still has the old school field. I'm trying to
they have the history there.
Speaker 14 (20:30):
Okay, I'm gonna have to go. Is it over?
Speaker 8 (20:31):
It is over?
Speaker 14 (20:32):
Okay this year.
Speaker 8 (20:33):
You have to wait till next year. But it's usually
around my birthday, so I kind of like, you know,
I'm reminded. And actually they call.
Speaker 14 (20:38):
I want to go with you next year.
Speaker 8 (20:40):
They sent me all in.
Speaker 14 (20:41):
From I'm gonna go with you next year and get
an lemonade and some cheese curds.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
Yeah. And then they also have performances too, like bands
and stuff.
Speaker 14 (20:48):
So and then I could, you know, link up with
them and see what's good with all that sounds about.
Speaker 8 (20:52):
Yeah, man, like it. It's it's it's honestly. It felt
good just to have a date, you know, walk around. Yes,
you know, we didn't spend a lot of money, but
we did. I did. I bought I gave her a
super corn dog ere.
Speaker 14 (21:06):
Yeah. Yeah, I think I saw that. I think that's
how you posted about that.
Speaker 8 (21:10):
Yeah, Like she loved it, dude, that it was great.
It was great, right. Her town even loved it. It
was great because they brought back memories of the corn
dogs that he you know, he is a corn dog
by the way, but like yeah, like you know, we
all have our little memories of going to the Orange Show,
Like what did you have a few men?
Speaker 14 (21:30):
No, No, that's saying I don't think I've ever gone
to the Orang Show. Like I need to go because
if I'm out of known about the dish like that,
like the cheese and the stick or like you know,
a funnel cake or chu rose. You know, I needed
to be sold on the cuisine. That that's what gets
me to a fair. I do Renaissance Fair, I do
La County Fair.
Speaker 8 (21:47):
They really do.
Speaker 14 (21:49):
I go to you know, the you know's festival festival.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
Guess I was a little disappointed one thing, even though
they're standing out that we give it one those point.
I couldn't find a shirt hey eighth Orange Show shirt.
Speaker 14 (22:02):
Yoh, that sounds like a job for the locals outfitter
or for nine or nine ways for Baseline boys.
Speaker 8 (22:09):
Yeah, Jason Lowell wax skateboards.
Speaker 14 (22:12):
That's that?
Speaker 15 (22:13):
Is that?
Speaker 8 (22:13):
The e printing sash sash printing?
Speaker 14 (22:18):
Oh really okay, Yeah, you have a lot of cool
crew always learning more.
Speaker 8 (22:22):
Yeah, this is a good idea team because like O,
show is really freaking cool and I wish there was
more shirts of it. So if you make one, team,
let me know. I love it. I was gonna buy
one there, but well we couldn't find one, so uh
me me in the future. But thank you aren't show.
And that's brought to you by Mulk Josha Boo called
nine O nine three three two seventy forty the only
(22:45):
wa Wagu shah Boo shaboo in town. And it's right
across the street from Costco.
Speaker 12 (22:51):
Team.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
Yeah, you're your lead at Costco, and you just go
right across the street from you know, you just got gas, right,
you go right across the street and you uh, they
have some cheaper meals and then they have some really
expensive stuff okay, and it's worth it to pay a
little extra money to get the good stuff, okay, man.
And it's hot pot so they bring out the incredible
(23:14):
juice that you choose. I got a pork bone broth.
They bring it out and and you turn it on
and it cooks up right there. And then they bring
all these different vegetables, even lotus root put it all
in there. It cook it up with different meats, and
then you have these dipping sauces so you dip it
(23:36):
in the sauces and then you just put in your
rice and you just get crazy. Okay, I just had
this huge mess, dude. It was like it was a
huge mess, man. But we had a great time. And
I want to thank Cyndy Ta for for doing that.
And she also has her and her husband have a
mochi nut over on Redlands Boulevards and Anderson and BBQ
(23:57):
Korean Fried Chicken right next store, right there by the
bakers there. Oh man, she wanted to bring foodie spots
to our local area.
Speaker 14 (24:06):
And wait, there's a BBQ Chicken in Google manga. There's
one here now.
Speaker 8 (24:10):
Yes, we're right there on the Melinda on Anderson and
Reins Boulevard, right by that bakers.
Speaker 14 (24:17):
That spot's bomb. Have you had it? Yes, dude, Okay.
Speaker 8 (24:20):
They came in here and loaded They loaded us. No
way we couldn't food.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
Again, dude.
Speaker 14 (24:26):
That Korean Fried Chicken is really bomb and they have
different sauces and sweet sauces and spicy sauces. It is
super bumming. There's a few locations and that is bomb.
Speaker 8 (24:36):
Oh god, and then go right next door get the
mochi out for your team.
Speaker 14 (24:39):
Oh that's crazy stuff.
Speaker 8 (24:41):
But they also have these corn dogs with all these
like different crumbles on them.
Speaker 14 (24:47):
Oh I've had that.
Speaker 8 (24:49):
I've had that at the tot Chetos or whatever.
Speaker 14 (24:51):
Those are good. I had those.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
So I think I saw a hot cheeta like Samber
and Nadino loved that.
Speaker 14 (24:59):
So the mochi nut has the hot cheeto corn dot. Yes,
oh my god.
Speaker 8 (25:03):
So I really appreciate what Cindy and her husband have
done here that they're really trying to bring something back
to our town.
Speaker 14 (25:10):
So we gotta and they also own the spot.
Speaker 8 (25:12):
Yes, they did what she did well in real estate
and realize that the market.
Speaker 14 (25:17):
What's your name you said, Cindy Ta okay?
Speaker 8 (25:19):
Cool, nice lady, awesome, thank you very much for everything
you do team and uh if you please go support
them and really.
Speaker 14 (25:26):
Cool for real?
Speaker 8 (25:29):
How do I request city services here in the city Centernino.
Do you have a bunch of trash in front of
your house that's just a vacant lot or like it
is the area that in front of your house need
to be cleaned? Do you see some graffiti?
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (25:45):
Do you have an encampment issue. Uh, many different things
the city can help you with. You just give them
a call. You can get online and go to sbcity
dot org slash sb Access or go to the mobile app.
Get the mobile app and go SB City, open the
app and select your issue and put the picture in
(26:05):
the geolocation and they'll get right out there. Usually takes
a couple of days. Pop hole whatever you got, or
you can give them a call nine O nine three
eight four seven two seven two Monday through Thursday, seven
thirty am to five thirty PP. All right, and we
do have a history tidbod are you down? Yes, all right,
(26:27):
we have a Semurio history tidbit coming out of the
guide post to History Concerting Origins of Place and street
Names in the San Bernardino County by Elizabeth W. Richards.
We are going to read Lugo Avenue. No, so why
are we reading him? Then?
Speaker 14 (26:43):
Where'd you find that?
Speaker 8 (26:44):
What? Why we read Lugo?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Why?
Speaker 8 (26:47):
I mean Lugo? You don't know why we're on Logolo? Yeah, right,
but we were on the call the sack of Logo, right, okay,
so that's where the radio station is. I but I
guess you know the technical addresses on Siero, but on
fifth Street, right, I don't know what we're on Lugo
(27:09):
coul A Sac. Anyways, well, here's Lugo Lugo Avenue. Don
Antonio Mario Lugo was born in California. Though unable to
read or write, he was a man of great energy, decision,
and strength of mind. He was a commanding figure, fully
six feet in height, spare and sinewy. His face was
of the purely Spanish type, clean shaven, naturally stern of expression.
(27:35):
The familiar picture of him shown at the right is
distinguished by a bandana worn beneath a sombrero, a headdress
affected by gentlemen of leone. You can see it's a
common picture they have over there at the Historical Society
and of mister Lugo. Lugo received his first land grant
(27:55):
in eighteen ten while serving as a soldier of Spain
in the Presadio of Andre Barbara. This land, near the
present city of Compton, was confirmed to him later by
Mexican government as the Rancho San Antonio. He served as
adelai of Mayor of Los Angeles. Oh, I'm sorry, adelai
(28:15):
or Mayor of Los Angeles from eighteen sixteen to eighteen nine.
I don't think I said that, right, I'm going back.
Let's see al.
Speaker 14 (28:23):
Daaldi al Daalde, Yes, Alda, but it might be like alcalde,
which is kind of like a mayor type thing, right.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Oh, yes, yes, al Dalde or Mayor of Los Angeles
from eighteen sixteen to eighteen ninety. Pus del Campo or
Judge of the Planes from eighteen thirty three to thirty four.
This was an important office and there was no appeal
from his decisions. His duties consistent in settling disputes between
rancho's relative to the ownership of cattle, et cetera. Don
(28:51):
Antonio had three sons, and with them he purchased the
Rancho San Bernardino from the Mexican government in eighteen forty two.
Here he engaged in the life of a cattle rancher
until coming of the Mormons in eighteen fifty one. Since
he bought the rancho for eight hundred dollars in hides
(29:11):
and tallow and sold it to the Mormons for seventy
seven thousand dollars. That's coming up. Yeah, I know some
vendors that come up like yeah, whoo. That's a good
come up. That Yeah, don Antonio could beach classed as
one of the first Californians to get rich on real estate.
Speaker 14 (29:35):
That's crazy, pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
Huh. So that's why our streets are named. And you
know there's a couple.
Speaker 14 (29:40):
Of different own the whole area.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (29:42):
Always that's cray for eight.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
Hundred bucks in hides man, and I don't even own a.
Speaker 14 (29:51):
High It makes it like saute up a try tip
of that or something.
Speaker 8 (29:57):
Yeah, but but this is the other thing. Team They
literally stole it from the local Native American So okay, yeah,
I mean it really wasn't there's a sale in the
first place. But still interesting story nonetheless. Right, you know
that's like selling someone London Bridge, Right, damn have you
(30:17):
heard of that before? People like trying to sell you
London Bridge. That's like they're saying, right, all right, Well
that that's that's all I got for today, some craziness.
I hope you guys enjoyed it. I Beyonni Lockert is
out doing all his hard work. I believe he's somewhere,
I don't want to say Sacramento. I don't know.
Speaker 14 (30:36):
He's motivationally, motivationally realizing.
Speaker 8 (30:38):
Yeah, he's doing motivational realization hard work for for probably
one of his organizations.
Speaker 14 (30:45):
I just saw it at a mutual friend's birthday gathering
this last Friday, and it was just lovely to see
him and I love you.
Speaker 8 (30:52):
Yeah, and we always got to say ion locker and
motivational as a sponsor of the show, Yeah energy a
positive thought. Yes, yeah, yeah, I'm sorry I brought Tristan
on without you.
Speaker 14 (31:12):
I'll be back. I'll come back with diesel. There's just
enough room for all that. Let's do it.
Speaker 8 (31:16):
Let's do it for sure. And yeah, if you want
to get a book like this, it's hard to get. Yeah,
really it's old school like that that saves a loan
doesn't even exist anymore. But you know, maybe we should
read print.
Speaker 14 (31:28):
This is dope. I want to make album art out
of this, Like that's some Dino stuff right there.
Speaker 8 (31:34):
No, so tell us, let's start from the beginning. Dude,
why do you even why do you love the ie? Dude?
Speaker 14 (31:42):
Oh? Man, I love the I E. I hond up
with it because it's in some ways because it's mine, right,
you know, It's like, in other words, I am optimistic
that most metropolitan areas would have a lot of things
about them that would charm me, you know, And and
so like I'm open to enjoying Los Angeles metropolitan area
(32:02):
and the Bay Area and any other metropolitan area that
I'm lucky enough to visit, you know. But but the
inland empire is mine, you know. And uh, and it's
never disappointed. I mean, I mean, it's never disappointed me
in terms of there's always more cool deliciousness to find
in the in the inland.
Speaker 8 (32:18):
You know, the land doesn't disappoint it's usually the inhabitants.
Speaker 14 (32:23):
Yeah. But and like, but in a normal life way, right,
like that, you will have disappointments in life. So I
don't want to say like I've never had any disappointments,
but to say that, like, sometimes I think I would
be daunted. I would, I would make the best of it,
But I'd be daunted if I lived in like a
major major city, because I am the kind of person
who really wants to learn everything about where I'm at.
(32:44):
And it's like I've I've spent my whole life still learning.
I mean, good friends like you guys, right, I mean,
like you're always showing me new stuff about the ie
so are other friends, other artists. I'm always learning new
pockets and corners, new cul de sacs and stuff like that.
It's like I haven't even finished learning my not so
major city, you know. I haven't even finished learning mine
so major metropolitan area, you know. And and so it's like,
maybe it doesn't make me think that I the Inland
(33:06):
is the exact right size of culture for me, you know.
Speaker 8 (33:08):
Yeah, when when I when I go that that that's
that's a very profound point. Whenever I go to somewhere
like Miguelia or Portola where there's a very small population,
I always feel like, you know what, it's nice to
visit here, but I would never want to live here
because that this is boring, right. I do love the
hide gets, you know that guy, But like, yeah, like
(33:30):
I need people, I need stimulation. But then when I
go to La it's almost a little bit too much
stimulation because there's so many more people that are way
higher on the wrong than me, with way more money
that can navigate La in the finer things.
Speaker 14 (33:48):
You do there a lot, okay, But.
Speaker 8 (33:51):
Here in like San Manardino, Riverside, redlands and stuff, it
seems to be a little more manageable for someone of
my level to.
Speaker 14 (34:00):
And because we've learned it, we know how to do
fun things here.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (34:03):
That we're spending zeroed a little at times, Yeah, you know,
because we know the area. Yeah, because we know the
area and well and it's cheap for sure.
Speaker 8 (34:10):
Willing to spend more money for special events like sure
of course or Game of Course, Yes, or the Renaissance Fair,
which we just did this weekend, which was incredible. Team
head on, there's one more.
Speaker 14 (34:21):
I think there's a shout out to the homie Sham
working the Renaissance Fair at White White Heart White Heart.
Speaker 8 (34:27):
He's so like I see him moving around right, he's.
Speaker 14 (34:30):
Sells, but he's a tapster. He's a beer tapster. He
has one of the most prestigious and fun coveted jobs
at the ren Fair after twenty Yeah for real, Like
he's he's twenty. I mean I used to work the
ren Fair as well from two thousand and five to
two thousand and eight with him at the Food Boost
And he put in work for decades to the point
where now he has like his choice of good jobs
and so he serves beer. You know, he's a he's
(34:51):
a barton Doller Oh, he has a ton of dope
outlight dope cosplay. He was there with his kid and
his wife a couple of days ago as well. I
mean he's he's there every day the fair because he's
a tapture. Check him out.
Speaker 8 (35:02):
Why he might have been at the one in Irwindell.
But yes, oh he's there.
Speaker 14 (35:06):
He said that one and Corona, he said, he does both.
Speaker 8 (35:10):
Okay, is it the Cronenberg.
Speaker 14 (35:13):
I've heard it said a few different ways. Cronenberg Corona Berg.
Speaker 8 (35:16):
Now I've been to both of them. That one's a
little smaller.
Speaker 14 (35:19):
I like that one a little better. I like that
one a little better because it's more chill and easier
to man. Kind of similar concept, right, like it's I
can actually go to everything at the Corona one, you know.
Speaker 8 (35:28):
Yeah, And it was so it was actually the maybe
record setting attendance last Saturday where we wear.
Speaker 14 (35:33):
That's what Sean was saying. He said, he doesn't think
he's ever seen O prodacy.
Speaker 8 (35:36):
Just well, it took us three hours to.
Speaker 14 (35:39):
Get out of there, That's what he said.
Speaker 8 (35:41):
Oh, unfortunately, there's like emergency vehicle right at the end,
so like shut down the roads to let him out.
And it was so crazy, but hey, you know what,
it was an experience. We had a great time. What
you eat, oh man, Well, so we wanted I only
got a slushy. We wanted to get to Oysters.
Speaker 14 (35:58):
Where they ran out those are good Fridays.
Speaker 8 (36:00):
Yeah, and there's nineteen dollars for a you know, so
we actually brought into the fisiality.
Speaker 12 (36:05):
They were so good.
Speaker 14 (36:06):
Okay, yeah, they got me.
Speaker 8 (36:07):
Through it, you know, and then we went afterwards, we
went to a place called Kirky's.
Speaker 14 (36:11):
Nice. Quirky is good, big old pancake, Corky's Bump.
Speaker 8 (36:15):
So you know, I kind of want to go. I think, yeah,
it's really good food. I was really surprised at a
like I I grew up with thinking Quirky was not
as good.
Speaker 14 (36:28):
Oh okay, well.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Remember remember that one.
Speaker 14 (36:31):
Show Kirky Romano.
Speaker 8 (36:33):
You know, there there was a there was a one
show like a guy named Kirky, and like kids, we
always remember like we.
Speaker 14 (36:40):
Were like, oh, Harky's Bump and then like you know,
like we loved them in our quirky way.
Speaker 8 (36:45):
But like I never.
Speaker 14 (36:46):
Thought I'm hungry now, but this was good, dude. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (36:49):
It had the bacon, it had the I'm talking about
back I break it back. Note it was good all right.
Speaker 13 (36:54):
Well, one thing Kirky's has that other diners similar to it,
uh doesn't have, Like they serve beer. So I always
love that. I'm like, oh, it's like better than Denny's
but also.
Speaker 16 (37:06):
Better than yeah, and some good pastries and high make
high tangent.
Speaker 8 (37:13):
We always going on tangents?
Speaker 14 (37:15):
What up tangent in the building?
Speaker 8 (37:18):
So so basically you love because it's you.
Speaker 14 (37:23):
Yeah, yeah, that's part of it. And also you know,
and I love like the blend of like arts and
working class culture as well as like the blend of
nature and urban you know, like like I've just you know,
I've come to love Why.
Speaker 8 (37:37):
Do you love that? Did your parents insteal that in you?
Where did you go to school?
Speaker 14 (37:43):
Well, I mean I guess the whole, like, you know,
a combination of nature and urban right, Like it's the
lobby to a lot of places, right Like we're not
that far from l A, We're not that far from
San Diego, we're not that far from Vegas, you know,
Like it's and I've always liked that about it that
I've always felt like I was at the mouth of
anywhere you know we are right literally right right right right, So.
Speaker 16 (38:02):
I mean I could, I could go on you know,
and your parents, So did they instill any art in you?
Speaker 8 (38:07):
Or how did you what puts you on the path?
Speaker 14 (38:10):
Oh, I mean as far as life? Oh yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah, I mean what was it? So? I mean,
so this this shirt I'm wearing right here, Bridge City,
that's that's a it's a it's a brand. And I
think they have a story around Rialsho too, Bridge City, Rialto, California.
My mom is a twenty five year veteran of working
at a cold middle school in Rialto. She's always worked
(38:32):
at Rialto District as long as I you know, as
long as I was.
Speaker 8 (38:34):
Thank her for her service.
Speaker 16 (38:36):
Yeah yeah, she's finally going to retire this year and congratulations.
Speaker 14 (38:40):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 8 (38:41):
And how about how about we dedicate this show right
here to your mom.
Speaker 14 (38:44):
Yeah, absolutely, yeah, let's do it. There, Ah full name
Rose Rosa Pool, rose A Pool.
Speaker 8 (38:51):
We dedicate this wonderful show with your son, which we
love very much, to you.
Speaker 14 (38:56):
What mom. I just saw her for Easter weekend and
and so yeah, you know, my mom is always like
plugged into the community, like she knows the real work
to be done in the community is at schools, you know,
or at least that's how she sees it. And I've
always seen her point, you know, and and and her
and my dad always raised me to value the school context,
you know, so it never surprised me that she always
(39:17):
ended up working in schools, just like they encouraged me
to do well in school.
Speaker 8 (39:21):
Well, it's good to have a good role models growing up,
and its teachers, like you know, I grew up with
a teacher too.
Speaker 14 (39:30):
It's like, oh, my mom's a registrar, right, so she's
a clerk at the front desk, but she's been there
for decades and before that at other schools in Rialto
as well.
Speaker 8 (39:39):
I just changed it.
Speaker 14 (39:40):
But in the educational context, right right, right right, someone
who works in the school.
Speaker 8 (39:46):
You're still a teacher even if you don't.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
You know.
Speaker 14 (39:49):
Well, she's particularly known for helping the Spanish speaking families,
you know, because she's bilingual and so there'd be a
lot of Spanish speaking families, but particularly the ones who
came from out of the country and navigating how to
get in school and stuff like that. So she's, you know,
she's been I mean, I don't think it's a it's
an exaggeration to say she's been like a major part
of the community in Rialto because of it for twenty
(40:10):
years plus.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
You know.
Speaker 8 (40:11):
Oh, that's awesome. So then you you went to what
what schools you go to?
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (40:17):
I went to Calca Summerdino, and I got my master's
in poetry, my mf A and find my mf A
and creative writing?
Speaker 8 (40:24):
Who gets who gets? Who gets that kind of stuff
in writing?
Speaker 14 (40:29):
Well, I mean, what was it? It's already something? Yeah,
I mean, like I wanted to do poetry and hip
hop ever since I was twelve. I played piano and
wrote poetry and raps, you know, and so it always
made sense to me to go to school for English,
you know. When I finally did go to college, would you.
Speaker 8 (40:45):
Would you consider yourself a savant in some type?
Speaker 14 (40:50):
I'm definitely confident in myself. I think I'm pretty dope
at at MCing and and and poetry, you know, But
but I don't know about it, so I wouldn't. I
don't know if i'd say savann. I still have to
become an adult, you know, to do everything that I do.
Speaker 8 (41:01):
What what is what? What is your the hardest thing
for you to.
Speaker 14 (41:05):
Do in life or as an artist. As an artist, oh,
as an artist, Oh, it's a time management time you know,
like to pick it, you know. It's it's easy to
get sucked up and playing at every bar, especially because
over time when you when I become someone like as,
it becomes someone like you who has really good relationships
with most of the local businesses. Right. So it's like
I have love for every little you know, dive bar
(41:27):
and coffee shop. I played at a Tuesday and Wednesday night,
But I just get to a point in life where
I have to manage my time where I'm doing less
of that and more of the creating of the art.
Speaker 15 (41:34):
You know.
Speaker 8 (41:34):
And and we we we want you know, everyone out
there to understand that we still love you, right. We
love all the events, and we want to try to
go to everyone. We do our best to promote them.
But like time management, right, Warren Buffett says that he says, no,
ninety person right, time right, And he says, if you don't,
(41:56):
you're not doing it right.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Right.
Speaker 8 (41:58):
I'm like, what ninety Oh well, I can't even say.
Speaker 14 (42:01):
No, right. I mean it gets easier with age, Like
I'm certainly doing it more in my late thirties into
my early thirties, and and that change happened if it
felt like quickly, you know, but it happens.
Speaker 8 (42:10):
That's why we need the fans and our supporters and stuff.
When you do come to things, we need to buy
shirts and you know, pay for tickets and do that.
Speaker 14 (42:18):
Oh yeah, I mean, I mean will help us out.
And that helps too. And that's also why I still
I still get out there. You know, a good deal.
I mean, I'm really fortunate. Every year all throughout May,
ju to one, the inaugural poet Loreta, the City of
Pomona hires me as well as a lot of other
Inland Empire and beyond artists to be performers in the
poetry and book festival that he throws at the La
County Fair at the Pomona Fairplex. So most years, like
(42:41):
I could say no to most shows out most shows
period because I know, all throughout May in the spring,
I'm going to be performing for Inland people, for Los
Angeles people, for unlimited crowd size so that anybody could
come La County Fair. If I'm not mistaken, It's cheaper
than Renfair, cheaper than Comic Con. Cheaper than the other
stuff that you could do. You know, I haven't done
you know, the Orange Show gets So I don't know
if that if it's seaper than that, but I know
(43:02):
it's I've always had a pretty cheap time when I
actually do La County Fair. So yeah, so it's yeah,
so it's it's it's seemed, oh the Orange Show. Yeah,
we gotta do that. You and I gotta go. And
but I guess I say that to say yeah. It
allows me to say no more because I know I'm
going to play at the fair all year.
Speaker 8 (43:21):
Okay. So uh, now that now that you've you know,
you got your degree.
Speaker 14 (43:27):
In eleven years now, yeah, and what you love?
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Right?
Speaker 14 (43:30):
Huh?
Speaker 8 (43:31):
What what did you do? Poetry first and writing first?
Or did you think you sang or did the verses first?
Speaker 14 (43:41):
I really both. Everything happened at at age twelve, you know,
like when I was twelve, I started doing poetry phone no, no, no,
any of those back then. Oh, I mean I probably
can me no, no, no, no, I don't know anything
that that that old, you know, But.
Speaker 8 (43:57):
I have one from when I from when I was younger,
from high school that I kind of like the soup pursuit.
For Stoner smoked on the water pipe. Down came the flame.
I was out of side the smoke and drowned out
(44:17):
all the paint and the soup suit. For Stoner smoked
on the pipe bugin.
Speaker 14 (44:25):
I wasn't sure if we would get censored. Yeah, I gotta,
I gotta feel like that.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Like that.
Speaker 14 (44:31):
But then I think about him. Other homies broke them.
Speaker 8 (44:34):
You weren't expected that. That's really I really make that up.
Speaker 14 (44:39):
I believe you. I believe you.
Speaker 8 (44:41):
But I having a life is but a butterfly. First
you crawl and then you fly.
Speaker 14 (44:47):
Right, that's dopey. I was thinking today beer is short
for be here.
Speaker 8 (44:54):
Yes it is, and in fact, we should be serving
beer on that Eric, bring any brew all right now?
Speaker 14 (45:02):
I only drink during the summer.
Speaker 8 (45:03):
Now, now, we got some performance here for your team.
We're not gonna go forever. I got this guy here.
We gotta get some good. What do you want to
show for us today?
Speaker 17 (45:11):
Uh?
Speaker 14 (45:12):
Okay? So I don't know if we could do the
single later or should we start with this or should
I perform?
Speaker 5 (45:16):
I got the music video set up if you want
to play that?
Speaker 14 (45:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So this is my new single and
then and yeah, we'll do the new music video. But
this is me my new group, FAM likely the homie
Diesel five K one, d Apostrophe z y L Space
five K one or Diesel five thousand and one, Tangent
Wiki and Diesel five K one together are FAM likely.
And there's our first music video. What I Like about you?
And then we'll come back and I'll do some preestyle
and stuff there.
Speaker 7 (45:41):
This special right FAM likely at the don now.
Speaker 8 (45:48):
I like you, I like like you.
Speaker 15 (45:54):
Let me explain the sex said about show. It ain't
bits considered race shot. It's that communication shut and great
guards union, staying there, no y shut, show a hold
what you called and playing with men. They control of
what spend the day with me. And then if we
can roll out and hit the bakery and put it
on the couch, we spend the lazily or clean up
(46:16):
or non mean get dressed inside to get the spot
because he places investment, take us to the prediness.
Speaker 7 (46:20):
We play room with stressed, we can go rout on
the town.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
And go bext I feel best because it's cool with
all the bit.
