best selling author. Her new book is called The Getaway.
If you're watching this whenever, you're watching it out September first,
So if you're watching it beforehand, pre order it. If
you're watching it the day of, get it, and if
you're watching it afterwards, get it.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Why start interview over there on a between the pages.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
But she's agreed to do this, and I've done it
four hundred other times, so we'll see what her answers are.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Kier and Scott, are you ready to do five? I'm ready? Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
The first question, you're going on a road trip for
about four hours, four or five hours. What artist or
singer or band has to be on the playlist?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Jonas Brothers.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
But I said some goodness and good songs. They do
some good songs like that.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I am like, I am a lifelong pop person, like
I'm so not interesting when it comes to my musical tastes.
You know, I was just raised that way and I
love a good like, feel good poppy saying.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
I can sing too, and they have a lot of
great I have a lot of great songs. Actually, they
sure do. They came back. There's a really great songs.
Everybody came back.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yeah, I mean good Sucker forget it. Sucker is like
one of my top five favorite songs of all time.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's a great, great song. That's a great song. Okay, okay,
like that. Number two, Karen's a little peckish. It's around
two thirty in the afternoon. What would be one of
Karen's go to snacks?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I would love to say, like a nice creaky yogurt
or something, but the truth of the matter is peanut
m and m's are my go to, you know in
the after you know, especially in the afternoon when I'm like,
I have to get some more work done and I
need like a little bit of a sugar jolt.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, Stu protein it does. Yeah. Yeah. Penal ones are
really good. I had them. We said they're really good, Yes,
really good. Number three Ocean or mountains.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Ocean not even a question.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yes, I agree with that, like the mountains, but ocean's good. Yeah,
we like the ocean too. There are four. Is there
a book that stands out for you that you read
as a I want to pay a time period as
a young adult.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Mm hmm, let's see.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
You know, I read a lot of Stephen King as
a young adult. That was like he was my go to.
It was the late eighties. There wasn't a ton We
all went from like reading young kids books to reading
Stephen King. Don't ask me why I did.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
I did the same time. I did.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Right, It's crazy, but The Talisman is one of my
favorite books of all time.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It's not super horror.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
It's got incredible backstory for it, with like this young
child and his mom and him trying to save her,
and it's just it's always stuck in my mind as
just like an incredible piece of storytelling. And I've read it,
you know, three other times as an adult. It's just
it's it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Side. Okay, this is my show. I do whatever I want. Side.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I just talked to another author the other day by
Stephen King. When he did Eyes of a Dragon God
was very polarizer for people. They're like, it's a fantasy
book and it's not horror.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I liked it. Yeah, actually I like this.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
So I say, okay, so I'm going to ask you
when he decided to kind of shift a little bit
now he's done books of all kinds at this point,
but as the first time, he really kind of deviated
heavily and picked a whole of the genre. Basically, what
you did about that book Toeli is what your few
thoughts about that book?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Also that one, I will say, I only read once,
and i've read it then, so it's really difficult for
me to remember. But I do remember thinking it was
really cool and brave, and that I love that he
stepped out of his comfort zone. Like I just my
mom was the person who introduced me to him, and
she loved it, so of course I had to read it,
and I, you know, I just remember thinking it was great.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, So same here. I just say that my mother
gets to do Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I just I just wanted that's way you said that
because you're a writer now, which we'll tk about that
another show that okay, And the fifth question I asked
my stuff everyone, and it's like life, Well you have
two choices, that's it.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I was kidding of that life.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
But Karen Scott's apples are oranges apples, she said, any
kind of apples you like it, just like apples in general.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I love a honey crisp and then this year I
discovered cosmic crisp. Have you had?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
You had a cosmic crisp? So good?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
And it's funny because in college, I will say, there's
a backstory here. In college, I started eating cheerios and
an apple every day for breakfast. I don't know why
that was the thing I started doing. And I always
eate Red Delicious and then someone was like, like, those
are the worst?

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Why are you eating those?

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And then start trying all the other guys and I
now agree that Red Delicious are actually the worst.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I'm I'm I'm a green yellow apple person. Mostly I
like tarts Grannies those are good.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Two.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, my whole family likes the grannies.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, as I like that. I got the direction I
haven't done. I've done a red Apple for so long.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yes, so far of our preferences.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
The getaway is out, as I actually said, if it's
out now about to be out, go go get it
and the star of interview over at the Immerchann pages
of James I Jr.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Bye
