Speaker 1 (00:00):
We got a question for American Mamas. Dear Mamas, if
you're texting in public, is that still a private conversation?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Well, let's ask our American Mamas.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Mamas, Mamas, Mamas.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
And I told me not to come.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
She said, that ain't the way to happen, no.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
And joining us now are American Mamas, Terry Nedeville and
Kimberly Burleson. You know, one of the things, so we
started American Ground Radio based off of conservative ground, which
was an organization Lewis and I were putting together to
try and reach people. And one of the things I
did in that, I created a course on George Washington's
rules of ethics, right? His rules of etiquette, excuse me.
So he would handwrite, he would practice his handwriting every day,
(00:43):
writing 130 some odd rules of etiquette, how to properly behave,
like don't pick fleas off of people in public and
stuff like that. Well, I then updated the list because
obviously we don't have the don't pick fleas up of
people in public. But one of the things I updated
his was don't read your private letters in front of
other people. And today I updated it to don't read
(01:04):
your text messages in front of other people. It's just
not polite.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
So I'm reminded of that with this story where someone
was texting and someone else was watching.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, this elderly man on an airplane, he's texting a
co-worker and they're talking about another co-worker that they want
to get rid of and they used a slur to
describe this man. Well, a young person was seeing, of course,
because old people, we've got our font so big, but
she is videotaping this. She posted on social media and people,
(01:34):
of course, are ripping him. And it's very divided. The
conversation is because some people are like, this was a
private conversation that you just intruded on. And other people
were like, well, he needs to be called out. You
can't use that term. And I thought, Can you imagine
if everybody heard our private conversations with what we said,
if we're frustrated, if we're angry, or, or if we
(01:56):
walked around with a sign over our head that had
our inner thoughts, we would all be hated.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
You know, uh, Wendy made a good point about this.
We were talking about this earlier and Stephen's wife, Wendy said,
she said, think about this. Let's put this in perspective. Yeah,
that was rude. He said, he said something antisemitic and
it was terrible. And this girl, um, put it all online,
and people are losing their minds. Yet, you've got the
(02:21):
Lindsay Clancy trial, and you have some people who are
devastated over a word more than the fact that this
woman killed her three children.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Right. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I mean, where she said, where are the priorities?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Why aren't we outing the governor of Massachusetts for having
just signed an abortion law up until delivery?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
That that, you know, taking a baby who's nine months and,
you know, maybe even a couple of weeks over delivery
just hasn't delivery due date just hasn't been born yet.
We can kill that.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I can't believe that.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah. But but a guy texting a slur. Yeah. Now
now we're outraged.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Right. I don't understand it. I don't know how we
change it, but I was watching, I like to watch
these little law shows, Megyn Kelly crime shows, and they
have Matt Murphy, who you might know is one of
the attorneys we all saw on Dateline for years and years.
Just a good stand-up guy. Doesn't even cuss. He's just
really awesome. But he was talking about how they were
(03:16):
talking about law where you could get someone's text messages.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
And he said, you know, as good of a life
as I live, I'm on a text thread with my
high school buddies. And if anybody saw that thread, it
wouldn't be good. Some of us would be divorced. I'm
sure they talk about women sometimes. So his point was,
if you open this up, if you look, it's like
(03:41):
looking at someone's mail. You don't do that.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
And if I would.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
If I were the guy, I'd say, okay, let me
see your phone. I'd love to go through your text
messages and put them out there and show how good
you are. It's kind of like that Carmelo case where
now we're seeing text messages.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Carmelo Anthony, his old text that wasn't admitted into court.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Right. And now you get it. You're like, that dude
belongs behind bars forever. Yeah. He basically said he was
ready to go stab somebody. He was going to stab
his girlfriend.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Somebody's going to get stabbed that day.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
He was stalking his girlfriend. He wanted to stab someone
and lick their blood off of his knife. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, that was in his text messages.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
That's premeditated.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
But I haven't heard outrage over his text messages.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
No, no.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
But a guy using a racial slur on an airplane.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
People are losing their mind, wanting to cancel in.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Well, we've been talking about social contagions this week, and
that's what happens. It's like a gang-up mentality. You know,
someone posts it, and then everybody's ganging up on him.
That's what I don't like.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
It's that virtue signaling. I'm on your side. I'm on
your side left. I'm doing... You know, we're going to
put this out there. We're going to absolutely... demolish this
guy and his character, hopefully take out his career, change
his life for the worse.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Are the same people upset at Zoran Mamdani's wife for
celebrating October 7th?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
No, no, no, they don't care.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
You don't hear about it because they don't share it.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I don't hear that. But we're getting a guy having
a private conversation on his cell phone on an airplane. Now,
you do need to be, I guess this is a
warning to everybody else, but isn't it an invasion of
his privacy for her to be videotaping what's on his
cell phone?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
In what other scenario would that have been okay?
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Exactly. And why is it always one side that's doing
that kind of thing? Because it does seem to be
that way, in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yeah, I'm not sure you have a whole bunch of
conservatives recording someone else's on their cell phone.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Or going to rally around somebody like this. Like, you know, like,
I'm really trying to do the women out there. And
almost guarantee it's what it means.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Because they are rabid.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah.
