An interesting study done by Sonja Lyubomirsky - social comparison constitutes a big chunk of our happiness. Today's reality bombards us with people who are richer, more successful, more popular, faster, better, more beautiful than us at every turn. The reflex is to compare but it is a dangerous game.

We actually compare it in two directions. Upward comparison. Downward comparison. One makes us feel good in the short term but unproductive. The other might be productive but can also be tough to handle mentally. How do we balance that out?
