twenty six. Another wonderful day and another day to be thankful.

(00:24):
when you focus on what is good, because if you
are sitting around thinking about all the negative things, all
the worst things you could think about, there are no
benefits in that. So make sure you tell yourself focus
on what's good, because when you focus on what is good,

(00:45):
you can project something good to happen when you focus

while you are running. Make sure you pray. It's a
lot going on and we all need to be focused
and we all need to be prayer for. And when

(01:50):
I say pray, I'm not talking about acting religious. I'm
talking about being realistic with God in a conversation. That's
what I'm talking about. Because I'm not a religious person.
I am a spiritual person. But make sure you pray today.

(04:27):
dot com. Okay, all right, so moving right along. The
title of this episode is how to become a focused
person to improve discipline and productivity. How to become a
focused person to improve discipline and productivity. We all need

(04:53):
to be more focused because there are so many distractions
around us every single and when we are distracted, we
waste time and we lose time. So being a focused
person helps us to manage time. It helps us to

(05:15):
prioritize what's important. It helps us to be more discipline
with the things that we have to do on time,
because unfortunately, when we are not focused, it causes procrastination sometimes,

(05:38):
and procrastination is just a delay to not do what
you're supposed to do. Some people procrastinate for one hour,
two hours. Sometimes people procrastinate for years to do things,
and we shouldn't do that. But procrastination, it starts with

(05:59):
not being focused. Because when you are focused, you will
commit to doing what you have to do. What is
a focused person? A focused person is someone who gives
full attention to their goals, responsibilities, or task without becoming

(06:22):
easily distracted. Focused individuals manage their time well, They stay disciplined,
and consistently work toward improvement and success for every area
of their life. I'm not talking about being perfect. None
of us are perfect. Because when there is any type

(06:46):
of conversation about doing better, some people all of a
sudden start thinking about being perfect. No, it's not about
being perfect. It's about doing the work to experience the
progress from your work. So being a focused person simply

(07:07):
means just staying committed to do what you say you
will do, with good time management as well, because being
a focused person is also a disciplined person. A disciplined

(07:29):
person personally and professionally. When you are disciplined, it doesn't
mean that you are perfect and you're supposed to be
perfect all the time. No, Again, it's all about the

(07:51):
progress that you will experience from what you practice. Being
disciplined starts with how you think. It starts with how
you think, And of course, if you are not focused,
you won't be paying attention to how you think. So

(08:13):
a focused person is someone that is just like I
stayed a minute ago, It's someone that is simply paying attention.
So ask yourself the question, and I want you to
be very honest with yourself. Are you focused? Are you

(08:33):
paying attention to what you eat? Are you paying attention
to how much you work out? Are you paying attention
to how you manage your money, how you manage your time?
Are you paying attention to what your relationships need? Are
you paying attention to self care? How you should care

(08:53):
for yourself, how you should take care of your spirit.
Are you paying a time attention to the things that
need your attention? And if you can answer yes to
more than five of those, that means you are a

(09:15):
focused person. If you answer yes to more than five,
that means you're you are a focused person. And if
you didn't answer yes to more than five, then guess
what you can grow to become a more focused person.

(09:36):
Being a focused person? UH starts with, as I always say,
how you think? What are you giving your attention to?
Are you giving your attention to something that is negative?
Are you giving your attention to something that's the waste
of your time? Think about that for a second. So

(10:00):
a focused person is someone that knows how to concentrate
on what truly matters to them. Because when you are focused,
you will also be consistent. Yes you will. All you

(10:20):
will also be consistent. I am learning how to be
a more focused person because I was not always focused.
I'm learning how to be a more focused person. We
all are learning how to be more focused. Some people
are extremely focused and extremely disciplined. But I can honestly

(10:44):
say that I am learning how to be a more
focused person. And the reason why I'm saying it like
that because I'm being honest with myself, because I have
not always been focused. There was a time in my
life many years go, I was very distracted, and because
I was distracted, I mismanaged money, I misappropriated relationships, I

(11:08):
did things that was not necessary. And so now learning
how to be more focused, it simply means that from
the time I wake up until the time I go
to bed at night, I'm focused on what I have
to do, what is necessary, what I have to attend to,
and so learning how to be a more focused person. Again,

(11:33):
it does not mean perfection. It means experiencing the progress
according to what you have practiced. Now. To be a
more focused person, you have to set clear goals to
know exactly what you want to achieve each day, short

(11:53):
term and long term. I always encourage people to journal
because when you journal, you can keep what you're doing
what you need to do. Sometimes I make a list
so that at the start of the day, I know
what I have to do and I go by I
go by what's important, and I take it one step

(12:16):
at a time throughout the day to complete each task.
And as I complete each task, I cross it out
on the list. Sometimes I do that, sometimes I don't.
But my point is that make or set clear goals,
because when you set clear goals, you will know exactly

(12:36):
what you want to achieve each day, short term and
long term. Short term goals are the goals that you
can complete quickly. Those long term goals are the goals
that you have to put more time into for a

(12:57):
result because it could be a very big goal. So
set clear goals so that you can know exactly what
you want to achieve. Remove distractions, turn off all unnecessary notifications,
and avoid environments that reduce concentration. I just told myself

(13:19):
last week, I am going to use more quiet time
as a tool to be more creative and to be
more focused, because there is noise around us, around all
of us all day long, between work and traffic and

(13:42):
talking to people all day long and driving and coming
home and just listening to everything around us all day long,
just the noise. It's noise around us all day long,
all of us, and so we all need time that

(14:04):
is quiet so that it can increase our concentration. To
remove distractions, I intentionally leave my phone in another room
so that I don't pick it up if it's if
it's something that I need to know. Of course, I

(14:24):
have a watch. I can see my notifications on my
watch from my phone, but I intentionally leave my phone
in another room so that I am not picking up
my phone, looking at emails or looking at social media.
I turn off unnecessary notifications as well, so that my
concentration can be increased to remove distractions. You also can

(14:51):
create Delli routines. A DELLI routine that has consistent habits
that help train your mind to stay organized and be
more productive. Being organized is important because if you are
a focused person and a disciplined person, and if you

(15:14):
are learning to be more focused than disciplined. Guess what
you can tell if you are focused and disciplined by
how you also treat your environment. Yes, you can tell.
You can tell if you are a focused or disciplined
person according to how you keep your environment. Yes, let

(15:39):
me tell you how, because your environment should speak back
to you. What do I mean by that? If your
environment is sloppy and books are all over the place
and close all over the place, and shoeses all over
the place, that says something about your lack of discipline,

(16:01):
Because your environment should speak to you, that's right. So
because I want my environment to speak to me, I
make sure that my books are where they're supposed to be,
my shoes are where they're supposed to be. Because your
environment's supposed to speak to you. So ask yourself the question,

(16:23):
is your environment speaking peace to you or chaos or confusion?
And if your environment is not speaking peace to you,
that means you need to have more discipline about what
you do in your environment so that it can be
more organized. Because when your environment is organized, you can

(16:48):
be more focused because your environment will speak peace to you.
When I look at things out of order, it could
be anything. I see confusion. If I'm sitting at my
desk and I have stuff scattered all over the place,
I literally see confusion. So that makes me want to

(17:11):
clean it up, because again, I want my environment to
speak back to me. I don't want chaos. I want
to maintain peace because where there is peace, there's also
a focus. And where there's a focus, there is also discipline.

(17:32):
And where there is a discipline, there's also a concentration.
You get to decide, You get to choose what you
want for your life. You get to choose so you
can choose what's good, what's best, or you can choose
what's less. It's up to you. You can also prioritize

(17:57):
important task to be more focused, to be more disciplined.
Focus on high value activities before less important ones. Mm hmm. Again,
focus on high value activities before the less important ones.
For an example, when you get up in the morning

(18:19):
and you know you have to work out, but instead
of working out, you spend a whole hour on the phone.
Guess what that means. You're out of order. That means
you are out of order. I'm telling you the truth.
Am I not telling you the truth? Yes I am,
Yes I am. I'm telling you the truth. Yes I am.

(18:39):
Because if you spent an hour on the phone just
talking to a relative or one of your friends, and
you know you had to work out, you know you
had to You know that during that you knew that
that time you spent on the phone you had to

(19:00):
work out, but you didn't. So you spent the hour
on the phone doing nothing, and now you just lost
the hour you didn't work out. All right, So once again,
focus on high value activities before less important ones. Spending
an hour on the phone is equal to doing something important,

(19:24):
because that phone call could If it's not important, then
guess what you could be. You could have been doing
something else that was important. That hour is important. That's
that's my point. Take breaks when needed when you are
consistently doing what you need to do throughout your day.

(19:50):
Some people are very high strong. They're very They're highly
active and constantly productive, which is a beautiful thing. But
sometimes you need to slow down to take a break
so that you can refresh your mind and improve your concentration.

(20:11):
So if you are if you are a high strong
person and you're always doing something and you're always moving around,
you need to slow down a little bit to be
more focused. Because just because you are busy, and just
because you are productive does not mean you are focused.
It just means you are busy. But if you're one

(20:32):
of those people that are constantly moving around, that means
you need to slow down, refresh your mind, and improve
your focus to have a better concentration. Practice self discipline.
They committed even when you do not feel motivated. Last week,

(20:53):
I experienced a moment I got up in the morning
and I had zero zero motivation. I mean zerole, I
mean I didn't feel motivated at all. I got up.
I wasn't upset about anything. I just I just wasn't
motivated that morning last week. I guess it was last Tuesday, Wednesday,

(21:16):
something like that, But I told myself just keep going,
stay focused, because we can't depend on motivation all the time.
We have to have that self discipline mentally to know
what we have to do. So stay committed even when
you do not feel motivated, because mental discipline is important

(21:43):
and as I stayed it earlier, your thoughts play a
very important role to determine what you will do and
what you won't do. So that is why it's important
to also stay focused because you will produce more men discipline.
Manage your time wisely because when you manage your time wisely,

(22:09):
you will be more productive. You will get more things done,
you will accomplish more goals. Use schedules planners to stay
on track throughout the day so that you can in
your day feeling accomplished that you have managed your time
wisely because you were focused. Because from being focused, you

(22:34):
can be more productive. And again, stay organized. A clean
and organized environment can improve your mental clarity. Connected to
what I said earlier, Being organized and maintaining it. Guess
what your environments just speak back to you. Develop always

(22:59):
more positive habits like reading, exercising, and learning regularly that
also can strengthen your focus, learning a new language, learning
a new skill that can strengthen your focus. And lastly,
always believe and practice setting goals for long term growth.

(23:31):
Believe in practice setting goals for long term growth. Focus
people understand that success takes patience and consistency, and as
you do the work over time, you will experience what
it is you want to experience according to your goals.

(23:51):
When you consistently do the work on you, you will
be a better you. When you consistently do the work
on you deli, you will be an asset, a greater

(24:13):
asset for someone else, a greater friend, a greater mother,
a greater son. If you care and love yourself enough,
do the work. Don't make excuses because people that are
not working on themselves, they are in denial about the

(24:35):
flaws in themselves. People that don't work on themselves, they
sit in denial and they project their flaws to other people.
And when they project their flaws to other people, it's
just a repetitive cycle of dysfunctional behavior. Nothing changes because

(24:58):
they're not doing the work. I know you don't want
to be like that because you are doing the work.
So thank you so much for tuning in to s
be Favorite Thinking Podcasts. This topic today is very very
important to me. Why because when it comes to the

(25:22):
thought life, I just believe that we need to value
ourselves enough to think more healthy. We need to think
more positively. We need to embrace what is real. We
need to embrace our flaws. But we also need to

(25:44):
focus on the things that make us better because when
we focus on the things that make us less, then
we become less. If we focus on the things that
make us better, then we become better. And a healthy
mind is very very valuable. So continue to do the
work and thank you so much for listening to this
