and you cannot be distracted. While you are in the public.

your environment. That is how you will stay safe. So

something new. We all got to do better and many
areas of our lives, and when we focus on self
development to do better, to be better, then we will

(04:43):
be better. Okay, all right, moving right along. The title
of this episode is maintaining a mindset of hope. It
is important ten powerful ways to stay positive, strong, and
faith focused. It is important to maintain a mindset of

(05:07):
hope because when you look at the news, it's not
a lot of good things going on here in the US. Sadly,
there's a lot going on when it comes to protests
and things that are happening around the nation, particularly over
in Minnesota. Minneapolis, My prayers go out to families and

(05:30):
people that have been affected by the current events. This
is not a political podcast. I don't do political commentary,
but I want to mention that if you are out
there protesting, and if you are out there out there,
excuse me, trying to help someone else, make sure you

(05:54):
stay focused, make sure you pray, make sure you do
your part to keep doing what is good, because what's
good will always be with us, and what's good will
last forever. Evil doesn't last forever. What you do for
someone else will last forever. If it's encouraging word, if

(06:19):
it's a good deed, keep doing all that is good.
Evil has its own judgment. And that's all I'm going
to say about that, all right. So, but the title
of this episode is maintaining a mindset of hope. Ten
powerful ways to stay positive, strong, and faith based. This

(06:41):
time that we're living in, we need to have hope,
all of us. We also need to maintain a mindset
of hope, and we will maintain a mindset of hope
by what we focus on, and what we focus on
will help us to be better if it's positive. But

(07:04):
if you focus on the negative things, you will be
more negative. And you don't want to be negative. You
want to be positive because positive thinking helps you to
lift your spirit. All of us wake up to a
world every single day that's filled with all kinds of
things that are not good. Even though your life could

(07:27):
be good, that doesn't mean that somebody else's life is good.
So we all have the responsibility to speak life and
to be more positive, not just for ourselves but for
someone else. We all need to do the work to
be a better person mentally, spiritually, we need to be

(07:48):
more resilient, we need to be more confident, and we
all definitely need to learn about one another when it
comes to race culture, there's nothing wrong with having an
open mind, and there's nothing wrong with being open to
understand other people. We are all human, we all have
flesh and blood, we all have ten fingers and ten toes,

(08:15):
two hands. So what makes us different is where we live,
what we eat, and our culture. But when it comes
to our humanity, we all need the same thing, So
Hope is one of those things that we need and
we need to maintain it according to how we think.

(08:39):
Every single day, when we get up in the morning,
our minds should be in the direction of what is hopeful.
The way to keep your mind in the position of
hope is to focus on everything that is at a

(09:00):
fine of course, you want to focus on God, but
you want to also focus on everything that is connected
to God and that and all the things that are
ati fye. And the reason why I say God not
in a religious context, but I say God because God
is good. God is someone that we need. I know.

(09:25):
Some people say things like, oh, you know, I want
to reach for someone that's greater than me. If that's
what you say to refer to God, so be it.
But the point of it all is this, we all
need hope. We all to we all need to excuse me,
stay in the position of maintaining hope according to how

(09:48):
we think, because if you're focused on the negative things,
and if you're focused on everything that gives you stress
and discouragement and disappointment, that is not hope. Yes, we
don't want to live in a fantasy as if there
is no problems. Yes there are problems in the world,

(10:09):
but we don't have to focus on it. Many of
us have personal problems, professional problems in our life, but
we don't have to focus on it. Be more focused
on the solution and not the problem. Because being hopeful
will help you to be more motivated. Being hopeful will
help you to be more encouraged. Being hopeful will help

(10:34):
you to have more emotional resilience. Being hopeful will help
you to have more insight and more wisdom. You will
be more receptive to use wisdom correctly when you are hopeful.
When you are optimistic, but being pessimistic and negative and

(10:57):
having a doom and gloom attitude, ask yourself the question,
what will that help? It won't help anything. So you
have to stay in a position of having a more
hopeful mindset. You have to stay in a position of

(11:20):
having a more hopeful mindset because when you stay positive,
you are also being intentional. That's right, When you stay positive,
that means you are being intentional. Toxic positivity is a

(11:44):
is a person that is living in a fantasy. They
a person that that's that that functions with toxic positivity.
They don't look at problems at all. They ignore problems
and problems become bigger and they're not problem solveigs. That's
toxic positivity. But a person that is positive can look
at a problem and see the solution, prioritize what's important,

(12:08):
use wisdom, hit it and quit it, and move on
to the next thing, but not bast in the problem.
So being more positive and having insight and using wisdom
is not toxic positivity. Let's understand the difference. Being positive
is not delusional. It is being more confident of what

(12:32):
you are able to do and what you can control
and anything that you can control, have faith that it
will change, have hope that it will change. Be confident,
be optimistic that whatever that situation is, it will change.
Speak life to it so that you will start to
experience the manifestation of evidence according to the solution. But

(12:56):
if you look at a problem and all you see
is the problem, that means you're making the problem bigger
and you do not want the problem to be bigger.
You want the problem to be eliminated, and you can
do that by first being more positive, because positive thinking

(13:21):
is positive creativity. When you think positive, you will enable
yourself to be a positive creator of something by speaking
life thinking according to what you want to see an
experience and not what you don't want to see an experience.

(13:42):
There are some people they talk about making more money,
but all they talk about is being broke. How can
you be successfully financially if you are constantly talking about
being broke? Okay, I'm getting excited now. I'm so passionate
about helping others and of course helping myself to be better.

(14:04):
So sometimes I get really excited when I'm talking about
these types of topics because I want people to understand.
You don't have to stay the same. You get up
in the morning, you open your eyes, and you make
a decision to get out of the bed and walk

(14:25):
to the bathroom to brush your teeth. For those of
us that do that, I'm just being real because some
people don't get up in the morning and do that. Okay,
which is not good, but you make a decision. But
you make a decision. Humor is good. But you make

(14:46):
a decision to get out of the bed and walk
to the bathroom to brush your teeth. Right, you make
a decision to do that. So make a decision every
moment of your day to be more positive, to maintain
a mindset of hope because when you maintain a mindset

(15:08):
of hope, you can build your strength inwardly mentally when
you maintain a mindset of hope, because if you're being
pessimistic with negative thinking and toxic thinking and thoughts that
are not edifying, that means your spirit is just going down, down, down,

(15:30):
down down. So why should you focus on the negative things?
There are no benefits to connect it to that none.
So that is why you have to keep and maintain
a mindset of hope. Because you want to be strong.

(15:51):
Now I'm talking. I'm not talking about being strong in
a fake way, just feeling strong because strong, being strong
has nothing to do with it has nothing to do
with a feeling. Slow down all the way down for
a second. So being strong has nothing to do with

(16:13):
a feeling all the time. That's what I wanted to say,
because if you depend on your feelings to feel strong, no,
strength has everything to do with your mental strength, your
willingness to be strong. So when you're willing to be strong,

(16:35):
then you will be strong. You can't wait to feel
strong to be strong. You are strong because you are
thinking of being strong. So but if you walk around
thinking about being weak, then you will be weak. It's mental.

(16:58):
So that is why. That's another reason why we have
to maintain a mindset of hope. Maintaining a mindset of
hope can give you direction to more hope. Yes, it

(17:19):
can give you a direction. It can give you direction
to what is more hopeful, because if you're dealing with
a situation and it doesn't look hopeful, if you maintain
a mindset of hope, you will be directed to something

(17:39):
or someone to give you something that is more hopeful.
Don't go by what you see to have hope. Go
by what you believe. Go by what you believe can change.
Go by what you believe you can receive. Go by
what you believe you can have, what you can have

(18:02):
access to. Go by that. Don't go by how you feel.
Don't go by what you see, Go by what you believe.
Because everything I just said is all connected to maintaining
a mindset of hope. You don't want to want to

(18:23):
You don't. You don't want to excuse me. You don't
want to walk around devaluing yourself without hope. You don't
want to walk around like that. You don't you don't
want to walk around devaluing yourself, not having hope. You

(18:45):
want to have the fuel of perseverance. You want to
you want to walk and do this life with boosted confidence.
And of course you know it's important to understand that
you can be more emotionally strong. You can, but it

(19:09):
first starts with how you think. It starts with how
you think. So I'm going to talk about ten practical
mindset strategies, okay, and all of these strategies will be
connected to managing stress and discouragement and like I said,

(19:30):
dealing with uncertain circumstances and things that sometimes that just happens.
We all need to stay focused because your focus is
your reality and it can become something better and not
worse according to what you focus on. So the first

(19:52):
one I want to talk about I always talk about
this one, practicing gratitude. I always have to mention this
one because gratitude shifts your focus from what's missing to
what's meaningful, and it also creates emotional stability and optimism.
So practice gratitude to maintain a hopeful mindset. Because if

(20:17):
you are thankful for something, if you take a minute
and you just focus on being grateful in this very moment,
just saying thank you God, Thank you Lord for everything
that you have provided for me today. Thank you for
allowing me to see another day. Thank You for provisions

(20:38):
and a loving family and loving friends. Thank you God
for the light of this day. To have more clarity
about the things I need answers for. Immediately, your environment
will start to change. Just when I said that I
can feel the I can feel the environment changing. So

(21:02):
practice gratitude so that you can shift your focus from
what's missing to what's meaningful, creating emotional stability and optimism.
Practice gratitude. The next one, It is important for us
to speak life as much as we can because there

(21:26):
is life and death in the power of your tongue,
and what you say out of your mouth has the
potential and the power to manifest. So speak positive affirmations.
Your words shape your mindset. Speaking life giving truths builds
confidence and also reinforces hope. So speak life. Don't look

(21:54):
at a situation and just speak negativity about the thing
you see that it is negative. If you see something
or hear something that is negative, speak the opposite. Speak
the opposite of what you see so that you or
the person that you care about can experience something different.

(22:17):
Sometimes people get in trouble and they go through things,
and a family member might say something like, oh boy,
they're always doing something wrong. Well just look at them. No,
you shouldn't be saying that. Speak life. Say something like
things will get better for them. Say something like I
pray that they will make better choices for themselves. But

(22:40):
don't speak negatively because the minute you speak negatively, that
means you just spoke something on their life you shouldn't
have spoken. So remember speak positive affirmations because your words
can shape your mindset and speaking life over somebody else's life,

(23:01):
and even even in your life, it can shape a situation.
You got to speak life. Your words are very powerful
and you have the ability to say something, to change something,

(23:24):
to give more life to something, So be careful with
your words. The next one, focus on what you can control. Why,
because hope grows when you invest energy into actions you
can take. Instead, let me say that again, hope grows

(23:50):
when you invest energy into your actions. Let me start
right there. You can control your focus so that you
don't go into a place mentally worried. That's right, I'm

(24:13):
gonna say that again. Focus on what you can control,
not what you can't control. Because when you focus on
what you can control. Hope grows when you invest your
energy into the actions that can change a situation the
thing you can't control. That's when you got to give
that to God. That's right, You got to give it

(24:36):
to God. You gotta trust him. You got to have faith.
You have to have faith, You have to believe because
you can't control everything. We were we were not created
to control everything. Yes, we have money to buy things.
We can you know we can. We can control some things,

(24:59):
but we don't control Throw everything to focus on what
you can control, because hope grows when you invest your
energy into your actions, the things you can control and
the things you can control. Back up, pray so that
you won't go into a place of being worried because

(25:21):
of something you can't change anything that you try to
do on your own without God. If God is not
in it and you're trying to do it on your
own and you haven't gone to God to say God,
can you help me with this? If you're trying to
function without him, that means you're operating in a place

(25:41):
of worry. Because if you can't fix the situation yourself
and you haven't gone to God ask yourself the question
what are you doing? What are you doing? You are
operating in faith or you are operating and worry and

(26:04):
anything that we can control as human beings. If you
have not invited God into that situation, that means you're
operating and worry because you can't control it. How do
I know because I've been there. Yes, I've tried to
control many situations in my life that I knew I
could not control. There are certain things, yes, I can

(26:25):
control with my physical hands. There are certain things I
can control with my wallet my credit card, Yes I can.
We all can. But there are certain things you can't
buy with money or credit card, like peace. You can't
pay for peace. You can't withdraw money from the bank.
And how can you pay for peace. You can't pay

(26:45):
for peace. The only way you can get peace is
going to God, so he can give you peace. But
you can't pay for peace. You can go buy a
new car, new house, you can go buy more clothes
and jeweltry. That stuff is not gonna give you peace.
So focus on what you can control and the thing

(27:05):
you can control. If you can't control it, if you
can't manage it, if it's if it's out of your control.
That means it belongs to God. And I ain't being
religious by saying this. I am a spiritual person. I
have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And guess what,
I will not apologize on this podcast for saying what

(27:25):
I'm saying, because I know some people that listen to
this podcast they don't They may not believe what I believe,
and it's okay, but let me tell you, Like I said,
we cannot buy peace with money because peace is something
that only God controls, and that is something that we

(27:46):
cannot control. Okay, So focus on what you can control,
because hope grows when you invest your energy into your
actions to manage what you can manage. But the thing
you can't control that belongs to God. That's all I'm
gonna say about that, because I want you to understand
your power, and I also want you to understand the

(28:10):
privilege you have of having access to God, knowing that
when you pray, something happens. It may not happen the
way you want it to happen, but something does happen. Okay,
I'm gonna leave that alone because God is awesome, He's good,

(28:35):
and he's always trying to help us. But because of
pride and arrogance and ego and money, people think, oh,
I achieved all these things. I got money, I got
cars and clothes and education. What if all that stuff
is taken away from you, what will you have then? Okay,
all right, now you just answered the question by the

(28:55):
thought you just had. All right, I'm gonna move on
because I know this is real, This is right, and
this is truth. There is no way in between. According
to what I just said, there is no gray area.
It is the truth, all right. The next one, Stay
connected to your faith. Whatever you believe, whatever you have

(29:21):
learned in your life, Stay connected to your faith because
faith strengthens inner peace and remind will It will remind you,
remind you that challenges are temporary, not permanent. I'm gonna
say that again. Stay connected to your faith because faith

(29:44):
will strengthen You're in nerd. In nerd, you hear that
word inner piece. We're not talking about outward piece of
a car, outward piece of how you're going to travel. No,
faith strengthens inner peace. Inner peace is so important. Oh
my god, it's so important. Just to go to bed

(30:06):
at night with absolute peace. It's the greatest blessing that
I've ever experienced in my life. That's right. Face strength
is inner peace, and it will remind you that challenges
are temporary and not permanent. That was a time in
my life. This was many, many years ago. I was
in my twenties and I was living in Philadelphia at

(30:28):
the time. One night I could not go to sleep.
I was so tired out of my mind. I could
not go to sleep. And then the next night came
and I could not go to sleep. Took shower, relaxed,
and I couldn't go to sleep. The next night came.
Three nights I couldn't go to sleep. Now I may

(30:49):
have dozed off and slept for like an hour or
maybe thirty minutes, you know whatever. My daughter was young
at the time, I think she was probably and maybe
the first or second ray. But I could not go
to sleep. The next night came the fourth night. By
that night, the fourth night, I was so tired out

(31:10):
of my mind because I haven't been sleeping. I didn't
have any peace. I had no peace. And I pray
and I went I got on my knees and I prayed,
and I asked God to give me peace. And let
me tell you something. I was raised in the church,

(31:32):
but I never had a relationship with God. I would
pray because my mom told me to pray, but I
didn't have a relationship with him. And so on that
fourth day when I prayed, I had peace. And I
remember going to sleep and it was the best sleep

(31:55):
that I had in a long time. And I can
remember the next day. I had so much peace. I
had peace in my home, I had peace in my relationships.
I could just feel like this inner battle that I
was experiencing it was gone because I prayed. Yes, And

(32:16):
that is why from that day forward, I understood the
power of prayer, and I understood the power of having
a relationship with God from that day forward. And you know,
for quite some time, I didn't like to go to church,
you know, but in that moment, something in my heart

(32:38):
was like, Okay, go to church. And I went to
church and I prayed and I sang and I had
a good time. And then I went home. Our friend
of mines was like, wow, you have a light on
your face. You look different, and she said, whatever you got,
I want to. I wanted to and I said okay,

(33:01):
So we prayed. But anyway, the point of what I'm saying,
is this, God can give you peace. That's all I'm saying.
I'm not trying to peace to you. I'm just saying
God can give you peace. And I know now, thank
you Lord, that he's given me peace in my life.
He's given me peace from the inside out. And that

(33:21):
peace that He has given me, I live with it
twenty four to seven. And you can't pay for this.
You can't pay for it your money, your house, your car,
your education, it's not connected to it. But when you pray,
he will give you peace. So stay connected to your

(33:44):
faith because faith strengthens inner peace and it will remind
you that challenges are temporary and not permanent. Okay, I'm
moving on to the next one. I had to share
that story with you because I just want you to
understand your power when you pray, and I want you
to understand that you are not alone. You can maintain

(34:06):
a mindset of hope. You can the inn fight that
many people have. Sadly, that interfight is going on, and
they got smiles on their faces and they played a
part to perform like everything's okay, but they're just going
through hell on the inside. And guess what I was

(34:26):
one of those people. You don't have to go through that.
If you pray you don't have to go through that,
you don't. The next one surround yourself with encouraging people.
It's important to surround yourself with encouraging people to maintain

(34:46):
a mindset of hope because positive relationships reinforce hope and
will protect your mindset from negativity. Being around negative people
is an environment that can be very, very toxic. Sadly,
that's connected also to people that walk in pain. I

(35:09):
believe that people that are very negative are walking in
pain because everything they do and everything they say is
constantly negative. It's like somebody walking around bleeding and they
don't even know that they're bleeding, and all the negative
words and negative conversations, they're just spilling their pain onto
other people. That's what negativity is. It's pain. That's my

(35:34):
interpretation of it. And even if you disagree, okay, all right,
see you later. Surround yourself with encouraging people because positive
relationships reinforce hope and it will protect your mindset from
negative people or negative environments. That's right, that's the truth.

(35:57):
The next one limit negative media inta and what is
negative media intake? It could be something on TV or
something on the Internet, or something that you're listening to
or watching that is not edifying. Sometimes we need to
have a balance when it comes to what we are
watching and what we're listening to. I love crime shows

(36:19):
and mafia shoes. I love all that crazy stuff I do.
And me and my friends we laugh about it because
they're like, Oh, that's a lot of killing in that stuff,
and they doing all kind of terrible things. They are
doing a lot of terrible things. And I tell myself
all the time to have a balance when it comes
to that stuff. I love the movie The Godfather. That's
one of my favorite movies. I watched that movie more

(36:41):
than ten times. I love that movie, and I know
it's a lot of crazy things going on in that movie.
But I try to maintain a balance between what I
watch that is positive and what I watch that is negative.
So limit negative media intake because too much negative information
increases stress. Guarding your input protects emotional balance because if

(37:09):
you're watching something that is so horrible and negative and
you're watching it all the time, every single day, then
what will happen is your spirit will take a dip,
meaning you will feel sad, or you might feel not
good because it's too much negative intake. But it's not

(37:35):
the moment watching something and you see it as informative
and you want to watch it in the moment, but
hit it and quit it and move on. But if
you're watching it too much and it starts to affect
your spirit, your energy, that means you watch too much
of it because maintaining a mindset of hope, you can't

(37:55):
do that. You know, some people watch horror films and
they afraid of the dark. That doesn't make sense to me.
Why are you watching horror films and you are afraid
of the dark? That means you are you're covering yourself
with fear, so you shouldn't be. You should be building

(38:16):
your courage and not your fear. You should be starving
your fears and building your courage. That's right, So limit
negative media intake of all kinds. I'm not gonna sit
and watch something that's really, really, really sad early in

(38:36):
the morning if I want to have a good day.
No no, no, no no, no no no no. It doesn't
mean you can't taking information that is informative so that
you can be well informed about something you need to know.
But you have to limit negative media intake to guard
your spirit because too much negative information increases stress. Some

(39:01):
people literally, uh literally sit around and listen to the
news and all you hear is, oh, food prices are
high and the inflation is high, and oh this and that,
and that person will sit around and say, Oh, I
don't know how I'm going to afford I don't have
the money for this, and I don't know how to.
You see, you've been watching too much that stupid news.

(39:24):
You've been watching it, You've been listening to it too much.
Don't listen to that. Tell yourself you have more than enough.
You will uh have what you say, and you will
function in a greater capacity to earn more money. And
you will have you you you have what you say
because negative information watching or listening too much, listening to

(39:49):
too much negative information increases stress, so you have to
guard your emotional balance. The next one, progress builds hope.
And because progress builds hope, you want to make sure

(40:09):
you celebrate the small wins. Acknowledging small victory strengthens motivation
and perseverance. So make sure you celebrate the small winds
because progress builds hope. Because we're talking about maintaining a
mindset of hope, right. The next one, practice mindfulness and prayer.

(40:31):
I talked about that earlier because quiet reflection helps regulate emotions,
increase clarity, and it also will renew inner strength. The
next one reframe challenges as growth opportunities. Let me say
that again. Reframe challenges as growth opportunities because every obstacle

(40:52):
carries a lesson growth focus thinking transform setbacks into stepping stones.
So reframe challenges as growth opportunities. And the last one,
keep a vision for your future because hope thrives when
you have something meaningful to look forward to. Goals, dreams,

(41:16):
and purpose. You have something great to look forward to
when you keep a vision for your future. Whether it's
your plans or a large, gold big goal, whatever it is,
keep your plans that you have for your future, because

(41:37):
hope thrives when you have something meaningful to look forward to.
So on that note, I'm going to conclude this episode
of As Be Favor Thinking podcast, and thank you so
much for listening. I hope that you got something out
of everything I said today. Remember that God is important,
prayer is important, and remember that when you maintain a

(42:02):
mindset of hope. It will give you everything you need
to be the best you you can be, all right.

worse because you have a purpose and your purpose is

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
