I want to talk about living in the moment.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Living in the moment, what does that mean?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Living in the moment has everything to do with being
your best in the moment for the people that you love.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
That's right. Living in the moment has everything to.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Do with being the best you can be for the
people that you love now, the people that you meet
for the first time, and the strangers that you may meet.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
At work or wherever you are.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Well, not just strangers, but anybody, your coworkers, your colleagues,
when you come in contact with people, and when you
are living in the moment, you are focused, You are
conscientious of what is necessary in the moment. A lot
of people, unfortunately right now, in the times that we
live in, they are distracted, they are stressed out, They're
(04:14):
living with different types of uncertainty, and that is not good.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
That's not good.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I know, when you watch the news and when you
look at the conditions of different things going on, I
know it's something to think about, and that is why
I always say pray because when you pray, you're basically
lifting it off of you to give it to the
higher power that's above you, and that is God right.
(04:42):
We are not supposed to carry burdens. When we carry burdens, mentally,
it weighs us down. So living in the moment has
everything to do with being your best in the moment.
And I'm not talking about perfection. Okay, I'm not talking
and about walking around like a robot trying to be perfect.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
No, living in the moment.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Has everything to do with also not taking anything for granted,
because a lot of people sometimes they take moments for granted.
The times that you have with your family, the times
that you have with your children, the times that you
have with your friends and your colleagues and the people
that you love.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Cherish those moments.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Don't take it for granted, to not pay attention or
be distracted. Don't take it for granted, but live in
the moment to cherish the time that you have tomorrow
is not promised to none of us. And I'm not
being negative by saying that, I'm being realistic. So live
in the moment with a certainty of knowing that you
(05:50):
can give your best in that moment. It's very important.
My mother passed away in twenty twenty one, and I
think about her every single day. I tell her I
love her every single day. And I still, of course
think about all the times that we shared and I
(06:14):
wish that I could have those times back, but I can't.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Right, so I have to move forward.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I have to live my life knowing that my mother
is in a better place, because I do believe that
heaven is real.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
My mother is with God.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
But I also believe that if you cherish the moments
that you live in, in this time with your loved ones,
with your friends, your colleagues, and the people that are
important to you. When you live in the moment, When
you cherish the moments, you create memories. You create something
that is good. Also, when you live in the moment,
(06:49):
you can create something that is more meaningful. Of course,
living in the moment increases your gratitude, increases your appreciation
for life when you live in the moment. Sometimes people
look ahead and they think about the future. What am
(07:10):
I gonna do about this? And what am I gonna
do about that? And sometimes when you think too far ahead,
that can cause a burden but guess what, you are
not there yet yet. You are in this day, in
this moment. So think about what you can do today.
Think about the good that you can do today, think
about the positivity that you can produce today, because today
(07:35):
is a good day no matter what is going on today,
today is a good day. And for the things that
we cannot change, we have to pray about.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
We have to release it. Why because when we.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Pray and when we release the things we are not
supposed to carry, then we can get rid of the
show stress. Stress comes from the things that we carry mentally,
when we carry loads mentally and we think about things
and we focus on things we are not supposed to
be focused on. So long, that's where stress comes from.
(08:16):
It's a mindset, it's a mindset position. And so living
in the moment is about being your best in a moment.
And how can you be your best? You can be
your best according to where you position your mindset. When
you position your mindset on the things that you should
be thinking about, then you can produce better emotional wellness.
(08:42):
You can produce more joy, more peace, and you can
create memories for the people and with the people that
you are spending time with. When you live in the moment,
you should always make sure that you can focus on
the things that you can control. If you're trying to
(09:04):
resolve something, do what you can and then move on,
because you only can do what you can right. Certain
types of situations and circumstances are out of our control.
So focus on what you can control. But something that
(09:27):
you can't control, and something that is beyond your human ability,
that's what you have to give to God. That's right,
that's what you have to give to God. I have
to say that. That's my belief. That's how I live.
And I know some people, you know, when you say God,
(09:47):
they're like, oh, you know you're religious.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
No, we need.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
God in this hour because without him, there is no peace,
there is no love, there is no joy because money
can't buy on those things.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Money is a temporal.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Resource that you can use, but it can't give you
joy from the inside. It can't give you that abundance
of peace. It can't give you that abundance of love.
I mean, money can't give you that. Money can give
you a temporal satisfaction. Right, if you want a pair
of shoes, or if you want a car, you go
(10:23):
buy it. And then guess what that fades away. So
what I'm saying is this focus on what you can
control and do what is possible. If there's a problem,
if there's an issue something you have to resolve.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Do what you can. But hit it and quit it
and move on.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
I always say hit it in quitted, do what you can,
and then move on because many people waste energy worrying
about things they cannot change. So focus your attention on
your actions, choices, and maintaining a good attitude. That's what
you have to do. Take time each day to appreciate
(11:08):
what you have. Take a moment to look around you,
and take a moment to think about what you have accomplished.
Think about the journey that you have already walked through
it when it comes to the people you've met in
the past, the good people, the good people now, not
the bad people, the good people. Think about your journey
(11:34):
according to the good things that you have done, the
good things that you have achieved. Think about that for
a second, and thinking about those things alone will stir
up gratitude, because gratitude shifts your focus from what is
missing to what is already good in your life. So
(11:57):
practice gratitude because when you practice gratitude, that will help
you to understand this moment that you are living in it.
Because I am talking about living in the moment right
it is important to live in the moment. Stop reliving
the past and rehearsing past emotions of what was done
(12:19):
to you and what somebody didn't do and how you
were disappointed. Can we learn from those things in the past,
Yes we can, but we should not rehearse and relive
the past. Learn from your mistakes, but don't allow them
to define your future. Every new day is an opportunity
(12:40):
to start again. So live in the moment, live in
the moment. You have to live in the moment. When
you live in a moment, you are putting your focus
on being the best you can be. And it's a
(13:02):
beautiful thing to live in the moment. To live in
the moment of knowing that there are good things coming
your way, Live in the moment knowing that you have
done good things for others. Live in the moment, knowing
(13:22):
and focusing on the good that you can produce in
this day. So don't relive the past. Learn from your mistakes,
but don't rehearse past emotions, and don't relive, relive the
past according to all the negative things that happen, but
(13:43):
just use it for the substance or wisdom that you
have gained from it.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Put away distractions.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Constant notification, social media, and endless entertainment can still your attention.
Oh Jesus, you gotta do this because.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
When you are.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Focused on the things that are meaningless, that have no meaning,
things that just steal from you, that means it's taking
something from you in the moment. So put away distractions
because constant notification, social media, and endless entertainment can steal
your attention. Be fully present and the conversation and experiences
(14:36):
around you. Do you really know what it means to
be present in the moment When you are having a
conversation with someone, It is the intimacy that you experience
to understand something more about the person you are talking to.
But when you fail to pay attention by not being
in the moment, you missed the opportunity to learn something
(14:59):
that you you were supposed to learn in that moment. Oh, so,
so live in a moment.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
You gotta live in a moment.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
I'm really feeling this right now, I am really feeling this.
You have to live in the moment because there's a
lot of good going on right There are a lot
of things that's happening in the world. We all know
there's a lot of things that's happening in the world
that are not good, things that are sad. There's a
lot of things happening like that. Okay, but you can
(15:36):
pray and you can still project something good even knowing,
even while knowing there are negative things that are happening
or going on, you don't have to focus on it.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
God's going to take care of all of that.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Trust that God is going to take care the things
that concern you, that concerns others. Trust and pray that
God is his power is enough to take care of
the things that concern you. There are a lot of
things that concern me. I think about hungry children around
(16:14):
the world. I think about homeless people around the world.
But I trust and I pray that God's power is
enough in this very moment to help people on all levels.
So I don't worry about it and I don't think
about it a whole lot because I can't control all
(16:34):
of that, right, So I pray and I give it
to God.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
So what I'm saying to you is this.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Put away the distractions and make sure you live in
the moment and whatever you can control, give it to God.
Appreciate small moments, a beautiful sunrise, a meaningful conversation, or
quiet walk that can bring you joy each time you
(17:04):
notice something beautiful in nature. Yes, appreciate small moments. I
appreciate moments that I have with my granddaughter, just watching
her smile, watching her eyes light up when she.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Says hey, Nana.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Appreciate moments like that because when you do that, it
will stir up more joy, more peace. It will calm
your nervous system. It will relieve you of the things
that want to steal your peace.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Listen more than you speak when talking with others, give
them full attention, be a genuine list because when you
do that, you will strengthen relationships and create a deeper
connection with the people that you have in your life.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Take one day at a time.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Avoid becoming overwhelmed by thinking too far ahead. As I
mentioned earlier, focus on doing all that you can do
today and trust that tomorrow will take care of itself.
Because if you focus on things that are not necessary,
(18:35):
that's a distraction too. Let go of unnecessary worry of
all kinds. Replace your worry with faith, action and positive thinking.
Because if you are worried about something, as I stated earlier,
something you can control. If you are putting your attention
(18:55):
on something, you shouldn't put your intention your attention on
to too much. It will rob you of this moment.
Because you have to live in the moment and as
you create meaningful experiences, make sure you invest your time
and activities that bring value to your life, things like
(19:16):
learning a new skills, serving others, and building relationships, and
also pursuing new goals. I always say that we all
should set goals because it gives you something.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
To look forward to.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
I don't care what kind of goal it is. It
could be a small goal, big goal, but all of
us should have some type of goal. Daily goals, weekly goals,
monthly goals, yearly goals. We should all have goals because
it gives you something to work on and it gives
you something to look forward to. Also, remember that time
(19:54):
is precious. Every moment is a gift that cannot be replaced.
And that is why I miss my so much because
time is precious and I can't get that time back.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
With her.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
So make sure you live in a moment, make choices
that align with your values, and do all the things
that will create a quality filled moment. That's right, do
all the things that will create a quality filled moment,
because when you do that, you are living in the
(20:29):
moment because tomorrow's not promise. So you want to do
what is necessary and read the things that are unnecessary.
It's a good day to be thankful. It's a good
day to focus on what is good. It is a
very good day to give thanks to God. It is
a very good day to look at yourself. Look at yourself,
(20:55):
look at the positive things about yourself, and love yourself
so that the love that you have for yourself you
can project an outwork and create a moment for someone
else to feel good about themselves.
