227: Pt. 2 Reset Your Marketing Mindset | Dr. Dave JonesIn

This part two Dr. Dave, the hockey-player-turned-high-performance-coach, shares his proven strategy to rock your marketing…and your business & life.

Be sure to catch his story in part one if you missed it.We dove into everything from mindsets to marketing to miracles, and I came out with my hair blown back (in the best way). Dr. Dave dropped his powerful R7 Framework, a game-changing process for success. Vision, strategy, branding—it’s all there.

Our convo was rich, real, and ridiculously practical. Whether you’re launching a business, a ministry, or just trying to make sense of your next move—grab a pen, and let’s go!

BIO RECAP:
Dave is a sports consultant who coaches CEOs, executives, professional athletes to help achieve their vision, by executing and developing mental skills training, and enhancing thought blocking techniques.
He works with organization leaders on their strategy, execution and communication, and managing the gaps between employees and management. As a thought leader and highly motivated individual

Dave engages executive teams by consulting on analytics, oversight of talent initiatives, and one-on-one coaching. He helps leaders improve the effectiveness of their organizations, by utilizing practices such as strategic planning, mental skills training, organizational assessment, and team interventions.

HIGHLIGHTS:

1.Growth mindset = God’s setup for breakthrough
Dr. Dave breaks it down: if you’re not open to learning and growing, you’re basically blocking the upgrade God wants to give you. A growth mindset says, “There’s more!” A fixed mindset says, “I’ve arrived.” Spoiler alert: God loves working with people who still think there's more to discover.

2. Reset your people, reset your path
This one hits deep—if you don’t like where you’re headed, it might be time to check your circle. You're the average of your top three friends. Want to level up? Surround yourself with folks who are spiritually and financially rich, who think bigger and dream Kingdom-sized dreams.

3. R7 is the roadmap for real results
Dr. Dave’s “R7” framework isn’t just a snappy name—it’s a powerhouse process that includes steps like Reset, Destiny, Vision, Strategy, Brand, Communication, Prayer, and Action. It’s doing the work of digging that ends up with a rock-solid foundation for your life and business.

4. Biblical principles are baked into the blueprint
Proverbs 15:10, “In the multitude of counsel there is wisdom,” isn’t just good advice—it’s part of the strategy. Dr. Dave works with Christian leaders and makes sure God’s Word is woven into the work. Pride is out, humility and wise counsel are in.

5. Don’t Skip the Strategy—Creative Alone Won’t Cut It
Jumping straight into branding and creative assets without first locking in your vision and strategy is like lighting a match in a windstorm. It flares up fast... and burns out just as quick. Want long-term impact? Slow burn with a solid strategy.

6. Want to Cut Through the Noise? Use Hero vs. Villain
We’re swimming in 17,000+ impressions a day (yikes), and our attention span is toast. To break through, create a clear narrative. People connect emotionally when there’s a hero and a villain. Bonus tip: the hero doesn’t need to be perfect, but the villain better be memorable.

7. Your Brand Isn’t What You Say—It’s What They Feel
Your brand isn’t just your logo or color palette. It’s every touchpoint—email, website, tone of voice—all rolled into one emotional experience. People either feel a connection... or they don’t. The goal? Be intentional, or your brand will still say something, just maybe not what you want.

8. Make Them the Hero—You’re the Guide
Major mindset shift: You are not the hero of your brand story. Your audience is. Whether it’s a customer, donor, or guest—they need to feel like the center of the journey. Your job? Be their guide. Think Yoda, not Luke. Be the Obi-Wan of your niche.

9. Pray, Think, and Taste-Test Your Vision
Don’t just slap your mission, vision, and brand together and call it done. Like chili, it might look good in the pot, but does it taste right? Take a step back, pray over it, reflect, and ask, “Lord, is this really what You want me to cook up?” (Bonus: Ask yourself—should I start, stop, or continue?)

10. God Might Pull the Plug—and That’s Okay
Even after investing time and money, sometimes God just says “Nope.” Dr. Dave reminds us: that’s not failure—it’s divine redirection. You’re not alone if a seemingly great opportunity gets shut down. It happens to the best of us.

11. Ask the Big 5-Year Question
Before jumping in, ask God: “Is this what I’m supposed to be doing for the next 5 years?” This isn’t just a weekend project. If y

Do you ever look around your life and think, you know,
I feel like there's something more.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
That I'm supposed to be doing, or something more that
God has for me. There's a bigger, better.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Plan that He has if only I could figure it out.
And sometimes we feel doubt as far as did God really.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Call me to do this?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Or how do I do it? I don't know how
to do the thing that I feel called to. And
sometimes we feel like we're off purpose, we're not walking
in our destiny, and you know, by the end of
our life, we won't have fulfilled it. We won't get
the good and faithful servant at a boy, and we'll

(00:46):
feel like our life is meaningless.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
And that's fearful for a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
And if you're struggling with that, you know, I want
to definitely want to pray with you. But I also
want to invite you to a maths your classes free,
and we're going to look at those three biggest challenges
to overcoming the things that are keeping you back from
living fully alive and fully aligned with purpose. It's called

(01:15):
purpose and passion and I look forward to seeing you there.

Speaker 3 (01:26):

that you're liking subscribing and sharing with your friends. That
helps us beat the algorithms on the podcast.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
So Dave, now it is time.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Do we want to continue the story a little bit?
Do we want to unpack our seven? Do we want
to talk about ms?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Good? Where do you want to start and we'll go
from there.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, let's get into R seven when it does the
roadmap that I believe is a very strategic roadmap that
we've used for the last let's see, since twenty thirteen fourteen,
when is that twelve years? Something like that. I've taken

(02:52):
former professional athletes through this I've taken organizational leaders through it,
probably somewhere north of two to three hundred different executives
over that time period. You know, I I do believe
that God created it, created us in His image for

(03:12):
for a purpose. And you know, I think my own
my own belief is I believe that God is sovereign
and so that you know, like he wouldn't give you
a vision without putting the necessary resources around you to
accomplish that vision. I really do believe that it is

(03:32):
our responsibility to see those resources. And this is where
like your prayer time, your holy spirit time, you know,
of looking around saying, Okay, God, what am I doing
to see? Have the spiritual ears to hear in the
spiritual eyes to see what's around me so that I

(03:52):
accomplish this vision. And and I think He puts us
around it, puts it around us in spades. That's so good.
That's so good.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
That's why it's so important to be able to hear
God's voice, you know, see what he's doing in the
heavenly realm, so that he can he can unpack what
he's showing you.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
So what is the R and R seven.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
R is reset? Okay, So in order it's it's it's
a great question to start with, because you know, for
this to work, you have to have a growth mindset,
not a fixed one. So let me just talk about
that for a second. So when you have a growth mindset,
this is the doctor Dave geeking out on you right now.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
So go for it.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
I love mind brain science and I love it, so
go for it.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Yeah. So, so growth mindset says, you know what I
can do better? What can I change? You know, I'm
open to feedback. A fixed mindset says I've been doing
this for years. How dare you tell me I know
every thing? There's not much to know because I've been
doing it for twenty years and so you know, I'm

(05:06):
just the expert and there's nothing more to learn. So
growth mindset, you know, you get upset over anybody you
know giving you advice. You know, unasked for advice is criticism.
So you just you're a red alert, you know when
all that happens in the fixed mindset, in the fixed mindset. Yeah, yeah,

(05:27):
So to have a growth mindset, you got to say,
you know what, there's something better for me. God put
a seed of greatness inside of me. What is it
that I need to learn and understand in order for
that to come out. You're open, right, So when you're
open and you're looking for there's a reset that can happen.
So this is where like when I you know, when

(05:49):
I'm doing my coaching, I say, you know, how's it going?
Because you know, if you don't like where you're at?
This is a hard one because this this hit me.
If you don't like where you're going, you need a
new a set of friends because you're an average of
all three of your friends. So when I when I

(06:11):
got hit with that, I was like, okay, Like if
I want something, you know, if I want to be
more profitable, I need some rich friends in my life.
Spiritual rich, financial rich, you know, like you know, like
there they just think differently. You know. If I want
to if I want to become the best father, right,

(06:32):
best mother, I need I need some mentors around me
that that have that right. I can't surround myself with
with people. So there's a reset that needs to happen.
If you subscribe to that idea, that growth mindset, then
our seven is a wonderful breath of fresh air. It
provides clarity and purpose in your life.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Yeah, I totally agree. So are you able to weave
in the biblical principle of the growth mindset? You know,
the Bible says it's only a fool who thinks he's right,
or you know, submitting yourself to wise counsel or you
know all of the Biblical Are you able to do
that as you're working with people?

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Oh? Yeah. So it's interesting because there at some point
I was like, you know, I'm gonna I'm going to
turn the agency not to be Christian. I won't work
with Christian you know, entrepreneurs and athletes, and God shut
that down immediately, immediately, like that just did not work.
And so yeah, so our vertical is we work with
Christian organizational leaders, men and women of God. You know

(07:37):
that that that wants something more in their life. And
so yeah. So Proverbs fifteen ten, those are the wisdom
of council. Many will succeed. Yeah, you know, the full
the pride. Pride comes before the fall, and so yeah.

(07:59):
So so when we're talking about R seven, you know,
there's the destiny, there's the vision, there's a strategy. Brand
is four, five is communicate, six is pray about steps
one through five and then step seven take action. So
a lot of times I tell people when we go
through our seven you really got to think about starting

(08:20):
this process because it's gonna be ten sessions, first sessions
two hours long. And I say, look it, you need
to be mentally ready because you know this. There are
some questions in here that you have to be open
and honest about. It's not about writing conflict, it's about
digging and so like don't buy a car, don't sell

(08:42):
a car, don't get married, don't get divorced, don't get
a puppy. Like you know, like this is a pretty
thorough process that we're gonna take you through that at
the end, we're gonna have a very strong vision, mission,
core values, brand promise. It's gonna be the foundational messaging
for your life and your organization moving forward. So good.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
And so this just speaks to these foundational principles are
critical when you're looking at marketing and growing your business.
You've got to come back to what's going on inside
you and how well have you clearly articulated the plan

(09:26):
that God gave you for your life and for your business.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
That's it? Yeah, yeah, and so it you like to
I think there's there's this idea that there's a separation
and there needs to be a separation from like a
production standpoint, like like, we know you're bigger than your organization.
I know that your identity is not what you do right.
But also this vision was birth inside of you that

(09:53):
we need to pull out of you, right and so
and now that messaging you know, has to be you know,
I like to say, we have to find the tip
of the spear and what God has called you to
do right and when it's done right, man, Like I
don't like the brag, but I can tell you that,
you know, the vision is like is like the bat channel,

(10:16):
you know, like I remember in the old Gotham you know,
Batman or Robin, you know, like you know, the commission
would go at the top of the building and put
the bat signal out and the Batman would show up.
You know. This is kind of like the visions like that.
And when that happens. There's three three problems of vision.
One you don't have it, Two you're not communicating it,
and three you don't believe it. When you're able to

(10:37):
knock those down, good, I mean, like I said, through
this and I'm not I'm not the like solutionists, the
vision is the solution to it. But I can tell
you just offhand that we've raised well over eighty million
dollars for clients because they had a well articulated vision.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Oh my gosh, that is so good.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
So I just want to say that again the three
problems with vision you don't have one, you're not communicating
it clearly, or you don't believe it it.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
So when when Bill Gates says we're gonna have a
compute in the eighties, says we're have a computer in
every home, right, and he doesn't believe that. You know,
back then, you know, a computer was a side. It
was literally the size of the house. And he's saying,
we have a computer in every home. And now we
fast forward and there's five devices per one household. There's

(11:29):
there's there's I think three x more devices on the
planet than our people. Wow. Yeah, yeah. You know FedEx, FedEx,
you know they came out and said we're going to
be in every city every day, Like that's crazy. FedEx
was before UPS or just after UPS it would be

(11:50):
in every city every day. M h wow. You know
you got to put yourself out there and for you
to believe, like if you're running just think about that,
Like if you're going to run an organization, Hey, I
have a vision to be in every city every day.
Now they're in every city sometimes twice a day, three
times a day, they're going to leave the city. And

(12:11):
so you have to believe your vision. You have to
know in your know or that this is going to happen.
The details God will work out. You gotta just press play.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Right right, you know, Dave, as you're talking and even
when we were talking before, I so see what I do,
just so like meshing with what you do, because I
help people literally step into heaven and receive their destiny

(12:45):
scroll and then co create, envision it, rite out the vision.
So that step I'm I think your process probably refines
that and also helps them languie so that they can
clearly articulate and communicate it in their in their marketing,

(13:05):
in their in their collateral. You know, all of the
assets that they have out their social media, the you know,
all of all of it everywhere where they're found. And
then I have a process we didn't get to talk about,
but it's called the Declaration of Trade, and this is
the covenant partnership agreement with Heaven and this stakes your claim.

(13:28):
And this is according to Sewod Samuel ten twenty five
and then also in Joshua. I don't remember exactly where
it is, but they created a document that a book
that they put up before the Lord that defined what
their kingdom was going to look like. And our business
is our kingdom. And so when you're talking about you know,

(13:53):
think about it and and brand it and clearly identify
who you serve, who your ideal client is, what are
their demographics and the psychographics all of those things I
include in that declaration of trade because that is the
partnership agreement with Heaven and your commissioning the angels go

(14:14):
find exactly these people, you know, these are the ones
that I'm going to infuse with the fragrance that they
will be drunk.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
That that's like you were talking about.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yeah, you know, so I just see that that merging
so well together, and it's almost like I can I
can see where this fits.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
And then where what you do blows it up, like
accelerates it. You know, you need to have this, and then.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
What you do is it's so critical, and I think
business owners really get it wrong. They start out they
start out with a logo that they think looks cool,
or they saw something on the on the clip art
and I put they like create that, and they like
these colors, so we're gonna do this, and they think

(15:06):
this thing looks cool and they create a website like
it's just so backwards too.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Well, that's the beauty of our seven because brand is
step four.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, you're not there yet.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Until you're there, get over the mindset which you were
talking about the vision and those problems with the vision,
and do you.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Believe the strategy of how we're going to get there
before you ever create anything. So this has been like
fine tuned over over the years of like I've done that.
I had a seventeen thousand square foot facility, video production facility,
four hundred and ninety five h ninety five seed HD studio.
We did like six hundred commercials one year, and I

(15:47):
realized real quick that if you go right to creative
the brand and communicate, it's just it's it's kind of
like putting gas on a fire. Everybody goes, WHOA, that's awesome,
and then it dies down real fast. It doesn't last.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
So when you have the when you have the when
you have the vision, the strategy like that's long term, man,
that's three to five years. So you don't put gas
on that, you just you just let it burn. Mm
hmmm and you get heat for a long time.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Ah, that's so good. So name the steps again. Number
one is vision.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Number two is no.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Number one is destiny, so we know the destiny. The
destiny is short for destination. Destiny is you know, we
want to glorify the Lord with our talents and our abilities.
That's what we're destined to do. Mm hmm. Okay, so
we gotta we gotta just kind of come to come
to Jesus that this is what you're born to do. Right,
So so then vision so, so it's vision number two.

(16:49):
Number three is going to be strategy. How are we
going to strategically roll out the vision? So then that
brings in vision, mission, core values, ran promise, and a
narrative story.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I love it. We need narrative and yeah, so I
was going to say, do you work people's own story
into that? And obviously if you're talking about narrative, then
you do.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
The easiest way to communicate a narrative is to bring
in a hero and a villain, so villain, because there's
another kind of background to this, and just real quick,
just give me a second to set this up. In
nineteen eighty and the average American was hit with about
three hundred impressions a day. There's also thing called a

(17:33):
bounce rate. So the bounce rate was when Ronald Reagan
gave a speech, that speech would resonate with American people
for about thirty days. If I fast forward to when
Obama was president, the amount of impressions per day were
up to nine thousand impressions a day. So from three
hundred to nine hundred, the bounce rate was two hours.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
And tell people what an impression is.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Impression is as you see it. You just see something, Okay,
you see it and it goes away. Yep, it's not
a click, You just see.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
It, all right.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
So from thirty days to two hours.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
To two hours? Wow, okay. So now fast forward to
twenty twenty five. The amount of impressions today are seventeen
thousand impressions a day and this does not include fourth quarter.
Fourth quarter is way higher because of Black Friday Cyber Monday,
and the amount of and the bounce rate is less
than a minute. This is why TikTok is amazing because

(18:30):
it just it just gives you what you're talking about
in the moment. So what's happening here is we are
we are just overwhelmed. We our brains are saturated. Our
brains are about eighty seven percent saturated. Right now. When
we bring in new information, our brains need to be
about twenty three percent saturated. We're just we're just completely overwhelmed.

(18:54):
We're eighty We're an eighty D society overstimulated. We're overstimulated,
and so you have to shut that down, right. You
also have to compete with it as an organizational leader
who's trying to increase donors or get somebody to buy something.
And so the fastest way to get to somebody to
play this algorithm game is to bring in a hero villain.

(19:16):
And a lot of times the hero doesn't have to
be great. The villain has to be really bad. So
the evening example, so the church, the villain has been isolation.
The hero is community. We were isolated. Now that worked
for a little while when we're coming out of COVID.

(19:39):
I use that example because most people can relate to that.
But there are other heroes and villains that we can
juxtapose your organization against and now we can get them
through to click.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Is are you thinking of it?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Was it story.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Brand or glory brand is a good one? Okay, So yep,
story brand? What? Yeah? So what came really what came
out of that? There's a lot of stuff that came
out of Donald Miller, but one thing that really came
out was the organization is no longer the hero. The client,
the donor, the first time guess they are the hero.

(20:17):
The organization is their guide. Nobody wants to hear you
and how great you are and how long you've been around.
You got to make the donor the first time guess
the hero. You guide them through an amazing VIP process.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
So true, we want to be obi Yeah exactly, Yeah, okay, awesome. Okay,
So if you're taking notes Audience number one, Destiny number two,
Vision number three, Strategy number four.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Brand, do you want to talk a little bit more
about brand?

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Sure? So, brand is a cam nation of everything. It's
the narrative, it's the logo, it's the messaging, it's the email,
it's the website. You're giving giving an overall arching message
and people will either like it or they won't. And
so it's important to understand your audience and who you're

(21:19):
trying to reach and to create that brand. If you
strategically put all the right elements in place, you have
a good chance of it working. When you don't, you
certainly don't have a good chance of it working. Your
brand is creating a is creating an emotional response. Whether
you like it or not, it's just happening. So let

(21:42):
me let me geek out on you just a little
bit about this.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Go for it, all right.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
So in your brain there's a little peanut area part
of your brain. It's called the amygdala, and the amygdala
is all about what we're when and how. It takes
all that what we're when and how and says this
is good for me, fight flight. I like this. That's
where the dopamine releases and the serotonin and you go, oh,

(22:09):
I want to be part of this. So if I
would say something like, you know, Freedom United's vision is
to end slavery, you go, oh, what's wrong with that?
I want to end slavery. Slavery is bad, right, and
so or how about make America great again? You go,

(22:32):
that's something I'd like that? Or you go, I don't
like that brand at all, right, and so it kind
of just really fast, just kind of discerns whether this
is good or not. The neo cortex is really kind
of the what we're winning. How So your vision is
really landing in the amygdala, okay, and so your brand

(22:57):
is also a landing in the amygdala. So it's taking
all this information saying I want to I want to
buy this, I don't want to buy this, I like this,
I don't like this, and so the brand is really
just all your assets together. So early on we talked
about logos. Earlier, early on, I used to think the
logo had to be everything. Now then a little mature

(23:21):
through the marketing. Your logo needs to be a distinct mark.
Your story, your copy, your content is your brand. So
whatever you're putting together in terms of the messaging, which
is steps one, two, and three of our seven, that's
got to be more important than the actual logo itself.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
So good, Dave, Wow, so good.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Five Communicate This is where we released everything. This is
your email emails going out, this is your ads, this
is your culture and your organization, and you know it's
it's how you're communicating yourselves. Your your employees. It's it's
really kind of everything. But now we're actually what's important
to me about this step is we're not treating it.

(24:11):
Step one. I need to get an email out right,
I need to get a website up. Okay, what are
we saying on the website? I don't know? Well that's
that's not a good answer. I don't know. And so
this is step five, right, So that's so good.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
And so this is where we're starting to buy ads, correct.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
My ads, or or this is where you know, we
don't have any money, and lord, what am I doing
with my life? Who do I need to be in
my life? You know? And so somebody walks into your
life and you say, what what do you say to
this person who could help you, who has all the
resources that God sent you? What are you saying to

(24:55):
them to attract them to you? Are you we talked about,
you know, your words having a smell? Are you? Are
you stinking? Are you bittersweet? Hmmm?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
So good?

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Yeah. So it's not just about the you know, just
the the creative deliverables that you of people you don't know.
It's also people you know. You know, when you walk
into a room and somebody just like wow, like there's
something going on with them, Like that's pretty cool. Like
I've heard I've never done I've never seen this app
but I've heard like Donald Trump takes the air out
of the room, you know when he walks in, like

(25:29):
whoa everybody stops. Like when you walk in the room,
does everybody stop and say, oh my god, there's something
weird about that person, or do they go I want
to know more about that person, you know, Like, do.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
You know who doctor milesman Rowe was?

Speaker 4 (25:44):
I do. I've read several of his books.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yeah, he was a person you could feel the weight
on him. Okay, I yeah, I met him in person
and he's was walked in that weightiness that you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Yeah, yeah, so this is this is not communicate right,
that's that. Okay. When I'm when I'm in a room,
what am I saying? Am I trying to be the
life of the party or am I just at the party?

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Mm hmm. Interesting. Yeah, there's so much we could do
about all of this, but in the order, in the
sense of time, we've got to keep going.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
So number six, yep, number seven is or sorry, number
six is think it's also pray, So pray about steps
one through five. Think about steps one through five.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Mm hm.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
It's kind of like, you know, like I don't know
if you've ever made a bullet chili, you know, and
you go, Okay, I'm gonna make this amazing bullet chili.
And you start putting things together and you know, and
you're stirring it up, and you taste it and you go, ooh,
that's not what I was thinking, you know. So when
you're praying about steps one through five, it's kind of
like that, you're kind of taking a step back, going

(26:55):
I've created my vision, created my vision, my core values,
my brand, you know, my logo is really kind of
what Lord, what should I be doing here? Is this right?
Should I pivot? Should I? Should I start? Stop? Or continue?
That's a good one. MD. Do I start this? Am
I ready to go? Do I stop this? I've had

(27:17):
several times, Relynn in my life where I've been brought this,
brought to kind of this place where hey, let's go
do this together, and there's a lot of work and
a lot of money, and I just just God just
shuts it down.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Sorry, man, After the investment of the of the time
and money, yeah. Good for good.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
To hear that it's not only me that this happens to.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
No, yeah, yeah, you know. You know what gets me
is I I really asked this question, God, is this
what I'm supposed to be doing for the next five years?
Because for this to happen, I've got to commit to
this for the next five years. Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Yeah, it's so where you're doing testing, A B testing
and such of things and just kind of seeing what
sticks and yep.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
So we're A B testing, We're sending it out to friends, family,
We're not asking for the vice, but really just kind
of like you know, getting the reaction to things, seeing
how it's working, how it's landing. We a B tests,
we look at it different ways. On the marketing side,
we're definitely sending out ads, you know, these different sets
of ads that we're looking at, whether they're converting or not,

(28:30):
whether they're resonating, these surveys that can happen in here,
quantitative and qualitative surveys, but it also could be less
corporate than that, you know, you know, it's it's really
just testing it on your own and then step seven
take action. You know, I've talked about this before. You know,

(28:50):
could God move a part car. I think God could
probably move a part car, but like, you got to
move man. It just I've been in so many situations
where I'm going to be extreme here where somebody says,
you know, like I just believe I'm gonna be a
doctor someday and I'm just going to sit in church
and God's going to make that happen. You know, you

(29:12):
got to go to school. Sorry, you know, I don't
want you operating on me. You know, if you haven't
gone to school, done your internship, you got to take
some action. You got to open some doors. So the
also important part of number seven here is that it's
not number one. I need to go. Yeah, I can't

(29:33):
just do it.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Oh after after all of the other steps, then just
do it.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
Then just do it.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Oh that's kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
My first book, which is my my signature process that
is planning to profit.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
And there are three ways to do that.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Are you are you planning to profit?

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Like what are you actually expecting?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
And then plan to profit as in doing the planning
that it takes to profit. And then the third one
is getting out of planning and actually getting into profit
because you got to do something with that.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
That's it. That's really good Man Profit.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
So that is our seven process. That's what you work
with through your people. Do you have any courses or
do you have anything that someone could go and you know,
test out the system before they hire you or anything
like that.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
I do not have a digital online process for this.
I tried over the years. It's very much a one
on one consulton coach relationship. It I tried. There were
times on the Destiny session that I would say, I
can't do it online. I need to fly. I need
to pay me to come and be there for a day.

(30:49):
You know, I get it, and I sort of let
that go when COVID happened. Like you know, I we
try our best through prayer and through just being transparent
in this type of situation. You know, online to do
the Destiny session and it works, you just got to
be really like ready to go.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Really dialed in focus, get you know, distraction free, get
yourself in the right frame of mind.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Tot. I love working doing my strategy days with my
clients in person rather than over zoom because it just
you know, for me being in person and when we're
you know, we're working with the big sheets and we
got the sticky notes and we're you know, making lit
and we're doing It's like that's energizing versus doing it
on zoom. I get more tired and more tired and

(31:40):
more tired as we go on, you know. Yeah, yeah, okay,
So but the if they go to Emisgod dot com,
they can see the outline of what the R seven
is so that they can get you know, a picture
of what it is. Anyway, that's good. Any other resources
that you have or any way other ways that people

(32:02):
can reach out to you or just hire you.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
Yeah, I would say go to Emisgod dot com. You know,
there's a let's chat there. You know, you can reach
out there if you want to have an initial consultation
or talk, we could do that. Yeah, that would be
the way to get get a hold of me.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Yeah, and again I want to point people back to
your our seven podcasts because you do have some great information.
You and another gentleman talk some some strategy talk, some
you know, unpack some things and gold nuggets and that
kind of stuff. So people go to his YouTube channel

(32:40):
at oh what is it?

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Emma's good ismisod dot com and then I think on
there on the resources, it's our seven podcasts. Yeah, you
can probably search our seven podcasts and be there as
well on YouTube.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Yeah okay, yeah, okay, yeah, So do avail yourselves of
the of the podcast. He's got great information and of
course course you know hire him and I want to
hear all about your journey. Just one more question. You
talked about the ad spend that you're running through one

(33:13):
point six million a month with thirty eight companies. So
so if someone is just starting out, what can they
expect to spend in a month, because you're probably working
with a lot of big people who have a big
marketing budget.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
And in case someone doesn't.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Ob yeah, it's a great it's it's a great question
of clarification. For sure, we have some really big clients,
that's true, but we also have some really small clients,
and so I've never discriminated as far as bringing vetting
on clients. Frem is good. I've never discriminated based on budget,
and so like we will, we have a profit for

(33:53):
profit rate and nonprofit rate. I've worked with so much,
I've probably worked with more nonprofits that are have money
than I do have money. Honestly, and so I'm very
cautious of that. I you know, one of my questions
when I go to heaven is why money? You know,
why why God uses money as such a value proposition

(34:15):
for us? You know, it's it's an interesting question or
interesting the way that that works. But yeah, so we
will work with any size organization. I know that God
gave you. God has made us in His image, and
I feel like, you know, if you have a vision
in your heart that you want to you want to
bring out to the world, there's no better place to

(34:36):
go than Him. Is good. Like, if your good's gonna succeed,
He's got the best chance to succeed. It's going to
be with us. The process is there. You know, I've
got a nice experienced team. You know, we've we've dealt
with a lot of different industries, whether it's donors, clients,
first time guests, service based oriented organizations like Yeah, so

(34:59):
I just want I just want to urge you out there.
If you're not if you don't have a big budget
or any budget, all, don't be discouraged by that because
God will put the resources around you to make that happen.
I'm a testimony to that for sure.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Oh so good.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
That's a great place to end this podcast. And I
just thank you again, doctor Dave. Thank you for sharing
your heart, thank you for sharing your testimony and unpacking
your signature process with us because it's so so valuable.
And like you said, it's time for us to really
get God's word out there, and no better place to

(35:39):
do it than a Christian marketing organization who knows how man.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Thank you for your time. Today was awesome.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Oh good?

Speaker 1 (35:47):
