Another weekend, I was at home, although I did golf.
But still I'm not worried about the hauntavirus. A lot
of people are because, well, it's at fear factor we
talked about. We just went through COVID a few years ago.
We hear something that spread on a cruise ship. Are

we in a potential situation where we could be slowing
the spread? No, it isn't going to happen. It is
minuscule chance that you would get this at all, A tiny,
itty bitty chance if you were in the same room

(00:55):
with somebody and they had it. Not if you're walking
down the street, not if you're a person who is
not going into the woods somewhere. And this is a
different haunt to virus. Like I said, there's fifty of them.
This one is different than the rest. But yeah, we

hear it.

We worry these folks who are coming off right now.
First of all, they're not sick, they are asymptomatic. They
are just being monitored as a precautionary measure. Secondly, they're
being taken to a specific facility to be monitored. So
and further, the rodents that are responsible for this are
not president in the United States.

There you go the rodents, because it's a different kind.
There's like fifty of them. We said, people are worried,
and they're worried because they hear something like this virus
they hear and first of all, and we've talked about it,
it is a deadly virus. If you get it, the
haunt of virus. Pretty much any of them, you're going

to have troubles with it. But if you got this one,
there is a very good chance that you are going
to have serious issues, especially if you're elderly, you have
a compromised immune system. But it is hard to catch.

This is not COVID.

This is not passing someone in a hallway in an airport,
outside in a stadium and getting infected. This is every
case can be explained either through the original rodent exposures
that are happening as we speak in South America, or
through close contact with a sick person.

And you have to be around a sixth broth that's
somebody from the World Health Organization, which we're no longer
part of. You have to be around somebody for a while. Okay,
this is not a one and done situation.

The good news is is that in a sense, it
is haunt a virus and not another coronavirus or influenza virus.
This is one that has very limited ability to be
transmitted person to person. In fact, it's a rare exception.

my god, look at what's happening. I get it, I
get it. We're gonna be okay, but it's going to
be a talking point for a while. Not gonna pretend
it's not if we all recognize that, but we're gonna
be eyed. Just be careful if you're around somebody who

may have the hauntavirus, could take up the forty two
days they say to quarantine, and as we've talked about,
there is no treatment for these. But unless you were
on that ship or somebody you know it's in Nebraska
and you happen to be in Nebraska in the room
with them for a very long period of time, the

chances of you getting this is very minute. Breathe in,

themselves to a point where they have kind of lived
in a perpetual state of not having enough, struggling with inflation.

So now we're at this point of what's next what's
this week look like? I think this week is going
to be very interesting, as it is every week. Could
we see a attack that is more of not trading

missiles in the straits or drones, but something more substantial.
That is a possibility. Although Trump thinks they've lost obviously,
but it's not quite over yet.

said this, even if we love the deal and it

I think it accomplished a great deal, but it's not
over because there's still nuclear material, enriched uranium that has
to be taken out of Iran. There is still enrichment
sites that have to be dismantled, the proxies that Iran supports,
they're ballistic missiles that they still want to produce. Now

we've degraded a lot of it, but all of that
is still there, and there's work to be done.

Work to be done. Okay, what does that mean? How
do we get it? How long is this last boots
on the ground. All of those things are being questioned
because this is unpopular. This is costing us at a
time when people are already living more than just a
little paycheck to paycheck. Now they're frustrated because it's not

picture last night. He's in Los Angeles, one hundred dollars,
first car, sixteen gallons, hundred bucks. Even he who is
the most maga cat you'll find at times, not happy
with this at all, not happy with this. And Trump

massive deal for this administration, because of the fear that, hey,
we're going to need every seat we can have. We
better go find some seats just in case. We've got
to solidify our hold of the House and the Senate.
It's going to be tough. It is going to be tough.

So we're in this situation now. And the question is
that I ask all the time, ask yourself, this is
this better for us? Do you feel this is better?
Are you in a position where you look up and
you say, I feel like we're safer, life is better,
this is amazing.

twenty eighth? And I think that's open for some serious debate.
The fact is, before February twenty eighth, the straits were open.

right now G feels I'm in a much better and
safer position than Trump is. If this thing goes on
longer and longer, the weaker the American economy is, the

or the Republicans but will hurt them. So, oh, geopolitics, friends,

do this week in jerrymandering. All right, Jim, we had
the Supreme Court ruling Virginia. Then Virginia's being told they
need to redraw their districts. I have a feeling we're

gonna get a lot of these start stop, redraw, you
did it right, you did it wrong. This is gonna
be about the courts as much as anything else.

Yeah.

Actually, I think in Virginia, what they said was that
your attempt to redraw them was an illegal election, and
they weren't certifying the election results. So they got to
go back to the districts that are currently in place.
Because unlike what California did where they had the election
and they got certified and now they've redone the maps,
Virginia State Supreme Court said no, because you did this,
you have to have X number of days. You didn't.

(19:10):
It was too close to the primary, which is coming up,
I believe on the nineteenth. And therefore that you know
your election was illegal and we will not certify it,
and we declare that it should not be certified.

So back to your old map.

But yeah, we also got your friends down in Tennessee
this week went from a what they went from a
nine to one to a ten oh now in Tennessee.

that in your tux with or in your Tennessee legislature.
They burned maps or burn picture to the Confederate flag
and some other things that went on. Because it's the

do find entertaining, is that that district that they're trying.
You know, it's it's it's an inner city Memphis district
highly you know, very very.

Representative by the black community.

But the guy that was running that was that's in
there right now is an older white Jewish guy. Now
you said that more than likely he was going to
lose to probably an African American now in that in
that race. Yes, but you know, we'll have to see,
you know, see how that works out, and that'll be
interesting for when the uh for when the premers are Louisiana,
of course, was the key seat or the key state.

That was what the decision was based upon their maps.
They basically people sued because they wanted to take away
one of the two Africa or one of the two
Democrat seats and then make it down to one Demo
one one Democrat seat and the rest of you Republican. Now,
since that has been upheld by the US Supreme Court,
the governor this week basically delayed the primary because the

primary is going to be next week and they won't
have all the maps drawn and won't have all the
ballots and all that stuff ready to go. So I
believe you said it back about sixty or ninety days
for Louisiana to do it. And then also again there's
also been talk in Florida that they wanted, you know
that that DeSantis is going to redistrict and they're to
try to find a way to get another chunk of
Republican seats out of that. California is I rate and

they're threatening to go back and saying, hey, you thought
that ninety you thought that five Republican seats was bad
in California, We can draw you a map that comes
out fifty two nothing Democrat if you really want to,
if you really want us to be mean about it.
So yeah, I think just about every state is looking
in some way that they can. That's not a real
toss up state. It's got a serious control in the

(21:25):
legislature by one party or the other about trying to
try to Jerryman. And again it's not good whether it's
Republicans are Democrats. So it's going to have to come
to to a halt.

At some point.

Speaker 18 (21:35):
And I don't know what what the tipping point of
this is going to be, but it is disappointing, unfortunate
or fortunately for the Republicans is the map tends to
work out a little bit beneficial for them, and what
we're looking at as a pretty you know, pretty close
to a toss up as far as right now, the
seats are about a toss up. The numbers are down
from an eighty five percent Democrat taking over the House

(21:56):
down to about eighty percent this week in the prediction markets.
So I don't know if that's because they're seeing some
of these Republicans picking up some seats that they hadn't
really accounted for before. I don't think it's because of
the blue wave, because Trump's numbers don't go up right now,
they're still going down. The war, of course, is a
big drag. The you know, the additional costs are big drag,
So that's not probably why. But again, the the numbers

(22:17):
have come down a little bit on that. But again
we've got six months. We just passed six months a
couple of days ago until the general election, so you
got a lot of things gonna happen again. Aliens could land,
cause we talked about the alien photos before aliens could
show up and decide. Hmm, you guys are Jerreyman and
we're not so happy about.

This, I hope, So hurry up, boys, Jim. Let's talk
about what we have going on this week, because we've
got a few things happening this week, got a couple
of you know, runoffs, We've got a situation when it
comes to was it Nebraska, some interesting things going on
in Nebraska and Iowa as well. I think about, you know,
both sides. I'm also wondering like, is there are we

gonna see any competitiveness anywhere? Are we just going to
get to the point now where it's like if you
win the primary, you win period.

Speaker 18 (23:00):
Well, I thought there's a lot of competitive different fact
in in my midterm Monday side, I've got seventy nine
seats that are not safe, seats that are toss up,
lean or likely seats on both sides of the aisle,
both red and blue, both Democrat and Republicans.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
So yeah, there's going to be a lot more.

Speaker 18 (23:15):
And again still six months out, we've only had I
think five or six of the fifty primaries, so we still.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Got a lot of the primaries to go.

Speaker 18 (23:23):
And when we've talked about it before, if this starts
looking bad, a lot of these primaries aren't until August.
If this starts looking bad for Trump, the war is
still going on as numbers are getting into the low
thirties or maybe even under thirty. There may be some
Republicans in what they think were you know, like say
R plus six districts that are polling and are showing
that they're D plus two right now because of how

(23:43):
bad it is, and there is a you know, quote
unquote blue wave coming who may decide, you know what,
this might be a good time for me to go
find another job and retire. I've got my pension, I'm
going to move along. I'm not going to necessarily have
to worry about this because this is just getting too tough,
and frankly, I'm just getting tired of the of the
politics in Washington and how much of the partisanship and
the tribalness of it is. It's not why I came

(24:04):
to Washington. And there may be other people that still retire.
There weren't any last week, but.

Again we still got time before for a lot of
people could retire.

Speaker 18 (24:12):
But back to Nebraska. Nebraska second is an open seat.
The current person Democrat retired. It's a D plus three seats,
so it's a lean Democrat seat. The top Democrats in
it are John Cavanaugh and Crystal Rhoades. Cavanaugh is the
state Senator, Crystal Roads is in the district courts, and
the Republican is going to be brinker Harding. He's sorry

(24:33):
Omaha City council member. There is no one running against him.
He managed to, as they say, clear the field out.
But that's about the only really competitive race in Nebraska
right now, and that's the one that's going to have
the primary this week coming up North Carolina runoffs, there's
a bunch of them.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
The only ones that's really getting.

Speaker 18 (24:49):
Any exposure is is North Carolina first, and it's got
Republicans Lorie Buckout.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
And Asa Buck.

Speaker 18 (24:56):
That's a lot of buck in North Carolina that they
pulled thirty nine and thirty four in the primary and
then twenty seven went to other voters or undecided. So
we'll have to see how that turns out because one
of them will have to get to fifty percent to
make it into the.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Runoff in November. And also at West Virginia this week.

Speaker 18 (25:12):
But that's that's about as red as you can get, probably,
I would say about the third red estate after maybe
like Idaho.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Like Wyoming, Montana, something like that.

Speaker 18 (25:20):
So yeah, so it's it now Louisiana was going to
be next Saturday. And Louisiana is a strange state because
they have parishes, not counties, and they also are the
only state that uses a codes or the only state
uses code system for their law enforcement for their courts.
It's based upon the French Napoleonic Code, not upon American stuff.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
It's legal, but they do stuff.

Speaker 18 (25:43):
A little different in Louisiana. But because of the fact
that the redistricting, the case that went to Scotas was
their case, they've postponed it for about sixty or ninety days,
so that will not be happening next Saturday.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
On the sixteenth, no interesting. Talking to Jim Kennedy Kennedy
Institute of Public Polity, re j, let's talk about some
real you know, we talk about all this stuff and
we're getting towards that. But the Spencer Pratt thing has
got America paying attention. There's a guy, I think it
is in Alabama that took out a billboard because he
wants to raise money for Spencer Pratt California. I think

(26:17):
everybody is looking at this race because they're thinking to themselves,
how can you have the chaos that you have and
continue to put chaos back in charge of things. And
he's been all over the news. You've got lots of
people in the left giving money to him because there
there's a difference between being a Democrat being insane. And
you've got you know, but you are very pragmatic and real.

(26:43):
You're there give us a sense he's got no chance
in hell right when push comes to shove and the
machine starts to work.

Speaker 18 (26:49):
Well, yeah, I don't think he does. I think this
is a lot of hype on stuff. I think it's
happened for in races. It'specially stuff that I when I
was down in Orange County working on working with stuff
and covering it, you get all these people that are
all really exciting you kind of thought that carried out
through the rest of the county or the rest of
the district, and then you find out the election day
they lost sixty forty because you were basically around the

only group of people that were actually really interested in
that person or in that you know, in their positions.
And I would like to see Pratt because Eli has
become a dumpster fire, and I mean worse than a
dumpster fire, literally a fire unfortunately, which he and his
family lost their home.

His family is he.

Lost his home, his parents lost their home in the
Palisades fire.

And he's been a rallying point.

He's been an outspoken person against the horrible leadership in
Los Angeles. You know, you've got a lot of things
you've got. You know, this is maybe not ground zero.
Iven think San Francisco's ground zero for TDS for a
Trump arrangement, but it's very strong in Los Angeles, don't
you know, don't forget about it. Where the where the
entertainment capital of the world. And I don't think there's
about twelve people in there that would be caught dead

voting Republican who want to keep their jobs in Hollywood.
But yeah, the numbers break down to about in the city,
it's about one point two million days Democrats and about
three hundred and sixty five thousand Republicans and about one
hundred and fifty five thousand, give or take for NPP
no party preference, which is an option in California, which
generally is this avowed Republicans that are irritated and angry

and don't want to register as Republicans anymore.

Down to So he's got a you know, a serious

pulling people over for those things. But they've been told
by the city Council that as races, they would no
longer do that. So there aren't even series about trying

incamp at fifty feet from one of the elementary schools,
she basically just walked out of their meeting and wouldn't

is really gaining you know, he's really seeing to be
gaining attention. But there are so many people in LA
that are just not interested. They go between two points.
They don't see a lot of this stuff. It doesn't

hits her car with a tire iron or punctures or

tires or you know, you know, yells at them if
they're at the you know, at the big Hollywood mall
or something. There are a lot of people just don't
see it on a daily basis and they just kind

yet the hostilities remain. You've got BB going on sixty
minutes saying it's not over yet. We're getting there, it's

to be in there. Have we won the military side
of it, yes, strategically. Have we won the other side

of this war? I don't think we have.

and absolute. I have just read the response from Iran
so called representatives. I don't like it, Trump wrote on

we go from here? Well, they want to control a

hostilities now, and most importantly, they are not budging on

They've lost the whole nine yards, but they're not ready
to give up, which is bizarre, but whatever.

I think it accomplished a great deal. But it's not
over because there's still nuclear material, enriched uranium that has
to be taken out of Iran. There is still enrichment
sites that have to be dismantled, there are still proxies
that Iran supports. They're ballistic missiles that they still want

all of that is still there, and there's work to
be done.

is going to be who can last the longest in pain?

they're freed up to trade with the world, potentially that
they still have the regime in power. He needs some

sort of victory and if we're willing to go the

where we get the victory that he's hoping for. And

I don't even know if they know what that victory is,
but that would require us to be in a situation
where potentially we see oil in the one fifties and above,
where we see gas prices across the nation well over
five dollars on average, not counting Hawaii, in places like
that California, and that we see a potential recession not

regime itself, with the guns and the AMMO, to fall.
And I don't think we are in that position where

a bodyguard for another Colombian organization. His name was Humberto
Castro Munos and he was a bodyguard for the Geron Brothers.

He was sentence to forty three years in prison, of
which he served twenty six years and was released on
good behavior due to further reductions from prison work and study.
In two thousand and five. His three accomplices were all
acquitted of the crime. It was a horrible thing that

left again, like I said at Dark Cloud, over that
and the fact that it was still to this day weird.
My buddy and I were talking about it the other day,
just being there and then thinking, you know, looking back,
that that guy's days were numbered. Apparently the Munio's character
had bet heavily and lost and blamed him. Was the story.

shootout where the star for Italy, Roberto Baggio, misses a
World's Cup moment who had taken them on his back
all the way to the final. Skies went over the
bar and that's that. The World Cup's over and Brazil

World Cup of which America embraced the game. The MLS
would come what two years later, a year and a
half later, but I only embraced the game used television
in a way to this day that soccer globally is
used as well as advertising in ways that FIFA and

was amazing. I loved every second I went to a
lot of games. I was blessed. I got to go
see a lot of warm up games, got to be
in situations that other people just weren't able to get in,
and it was awesome to see. But I was, you know,
my buddy, and I to this day, I remember that
for all the again what took place with Columbia, which

was awful. Watching Brazil play at the time was just
insane and watching their stars and I remember Romrio at
one point in the game against Sweden in the semifinals,

were a big deal and then set for a panic.
Many listeners realized it was fiction. Not everyone. There was
mass panic in certain areas. A lot of people called
the police, newspapers, some people were really confused. There were

a lot of people who were genuinely terrified of what
was going on. So but yes, there were a lot
of people believed that some people say, woun't nobody know
it did? Churches had tons of people showing up there
were families who packed their cars, people were calling the police.
The hospital's rumors went crazy wild, And why was that?

(01:15:47):
A lot of people showed up in the midst of something,
They missed the opening disclaimersing was fictional, They flipped over
for something else and boom. So like, think about this.
Back in the day, you don't have all of the
stuff that we have today you're able to check everything.
And even at that point in time, how many people
get fooled by AI, by slot, by fake stories, by

confirmation bias, all that kind of stuff. They didn't have
anything to go to, So turning it over from something
and then listening saying military units have been wiped out
by heat rays would probably terrify a lot of people,
and it did. That's one of the reasons I think

they're slow walking a lot of this, no doubt about that.
One of the reasons. Now, when we listened to it,
we think, I mean, listen to some of it. We
know now that in the early which, by the way,
Orson Wells voice was amazing. And if it sounds like

We had the Supreme Court ruling Virginia. Then Virginia is
being told they need to redraw their districts. I have

a feeling we're gonna get a lot of these. Orn't
stop redraw. You did it right, you did it wrong.
This is going to be about the courts as much
as anything else.

Yeah.

Speaker 18 (01:32:08):
Actually, I think in Virginia, what they said was that
your attempt to redraw them was an illegal election, and
they weren't certifying the election results.

Speaker 4 (01:32:16):
So they got to go back to the districts that
are currently in place.

Speaker 18 (01:32:18):
Because unlike what California did where they had the election
and they got certified and now they've redone the maps,
Virginia State Supreme Court said no, because you did this,
you have to have X number of days you didn't
it was too close to the primary, which is coming up,
I believe on the nineteenth. And therefore that you know
your election was illegal and we will not certify it.
And we declared that it should not be certified.

So back to Gerald map.

But yeah, we also got your friends down in Tennessee
this week went from a what they went from a
nine to one to a ten oher now in Tennessee.

And there was a lot of.

People I rate about that in your tux with or
in your Tennessee legislature. They burned maps or burn picture
to the Confederate fly and some other things that went on.
Because it's the whole thing, the whole thing about the
Tennessee when I do find entertaining, is that that district
that they're trying, you know, it's it's it's an inner
city Memphis district highly you know, very very representative by

the black community. But the guy that was running that
was that's in there right now is an older white
Jewish guy. Now you said that more than likely he
was going to lose to probably an African American now
in that in that race. Yes, but you know, we'll
have to see, you know, see how that works out.
That'll be interesting for when the U for when the
premers are Louisiana of course was the key seat or

the key state.

That was what the decision was based upon their maps.

They Basically people sued because they wanted to take away
one of the two Africa or one of the two
Democrat seats and then make it down to one one
one Democrat seat and the rest of the Republican. Now,
since that has been upheld by the US Supreme Court,
the governor this week basically delayed the primary because the

primary is going to be next week and they won't
have all the maps drawn, won't have all the ballots
and all that stuff ready to go. So I believe
you said it back about sixty or ninety days for
Louisiana do it. And then also again there's also been
talk in Florida that they wanted, you know that that
DeSantis is going to redistrict and they're try to find
a way to get another chunk of Republican seats out

(01:34:21):
of that. California, is I right, And they're threatening to
go back and saying, hey, you thought that ninety you
thought that five Republican seats was bad in California.

Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
We can draw you a map that comes out fifty two.

Speaker 18 (01:34:32):
Nothing Democrat if you really want to, if you really
want us to be mean about it. So yeah, I
think just about every state is looking in some way
that they can. That's not a real toss up state.
It's got a serious control in the legislature by one
party the other about trying to try to Jerryman. And
again it's not good whether it's Republicans are Democrats. So
it's going to have to come to it to a

(01:34:53):
halt at some point. And I don't know what the
tipping point in this is going to be, but it
is disappointing. Unfortunately or fortunately for the Republicans is the
math tends to work out a little bit beneficial for them.
And what we're looking at as a pretty you know,
pretty close to a toss up as far as right now,
the seat are about a toss up. The numbers are
down from about eighty five percent Democrat taking over the

(01:35:14):
House down to about eighty percent this week in the
prediction markets. So I don't know if that's because they're
seeing some of these Republicans picking up some seats that
they hadn't.

Really accounted for before.

Speaker 18 (01:35:24):
I don't think it's because of the blue wave, because
Trump's numbers don't go up right now, they're still going down.
The war, of course, is a big drag the you know,
the additional costs are big drag, so that's not probably why.
But again the numbers have come down a little bit
on that. But again, we've got six months. We just
passed six months a couple of days ago until the
general election. So you got a lot of things gonna happen. Again,

Aliens could land because we talked about the alien photos
before aliens could show up and decide.

Hm, you guys a jerryman, and we're not so happy
about this.

I hope. So hurry up, boys, Jim. Let's talk about
what we have going on this week, because we've got
a few things happening this week. Got a couple of
you know, runoffs, We've got a situation when it comes
to was it Nebraska? Some interesting things going on in
Nebraska and Iowa as well. I think about, you know,
both sides. I'm also wondering, like, is there are we
gonna see any competitiveness anywhere? We just going to get

(01:36:14):
to the point now where it's like if you win
the primary, you win period.

Speaker 18 (01:36:18):
Well, I thought there's a lot of competitive different In fact,
in in my midterm Monday side, I've got seventy nine
seats that are not safe, seats that are toss up
lean or likely seats on both sides of the aisle,
both red and blue, both Democrat and Republican.

Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
So there's so yeah, there's gonna be a lot more.

Speaker 18 (01:36:34):
And again, still six months out, we've only had I
think five or six of the fifty primaries, so we
still got a lot of the primaries to go. And
we've talked about it before. If this starts looking bad,
a lot of these primaries aren't until August. If this
starts looking bad for Trump, the war still going on.
As numbers are getting into the low thirties or maybe
even under thirty, there may be some Republicans in what

(01:36:55):
they think were you know, like say R plus six
districts that are poling and are showing that they're D
plus two right now because of how bad it is,
and there is a you know, quote unquote blue wave
coming who may decide, you know what, this might be
a good time for me to go find another job
and retire.

Speaker 4 (01:37:09):
I've got my pension. I'm going to move along.

Speaker 18 (01:37:11):
I'm not going to necessarily have to worry about this
because this is just getting too tough, and frankly, I'm
just getting tired of the of the politics in Washington
and how much of the partisanship and the tribalness of
it is.

Speaker 4 (01:37:22):
It's not why I came to Washington. And there may
be other people that still retire.

Speaker 18 (01:37:26):
There weren't any last week, but again, you know, we
still got time before for a lot of people could retire.
But back to Nebraska. Nebraska second is an open seat.
The current person Democrat retired. It's a D plus three seat,
so it's a lean Democrat seat. The top Democrats in
it are John Cavanaugh and Crystal Rhodes. Kavanaugh is the
state Senator, Crystal Rhoads is in the district courts, and

(01:37:49):
the Republican is going to be brinker Harding. He's ok sorry,
Omaha City council member. There is no one running against him.
He managed to, as they say, clear the field out.
But that's about the only really competitive race in Nebraska
right now, and that's the one that's going to have
the primary this week coming up.

North Carolina runoffs, there's a bunch of them. The only
ones that's really getting any.

Speaker 18 (01:38:08):
Exposure is is North Carolina first, and it's got Republicans
Lorie Buckout and Asa buck.

Speaker 4 (01:38:14):
That's a lot of buck in North.

Speaker 18 (01:38:16):
Carolina that are they pulled thirty nine and thirty four
in the primary and then twenty seven went to other
voters or undecided. So we'll have to see how that
turns outcause one of them will have to get to
fifty percent to make it into the runoff in November.
And also at West Virginia this week. But that's that's
about as red as you can get, probably, I would
say about the third red estate after maybe like Idaho.

Like Wyoming, Montana, something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
So yeah, so it' said.

Speaker 18 (01:38:40):
Now Louisiana was going to be next Saturday. And Louisiana
is a strange state because they have parishes, not counties,
and they also are the only state that uses a
codes or the only state uses code system for their
law enforcement for their courts. It's based upon the French
Napoleonic Code, not upon am American stuff. Its legal, but

(01:39:01):
they do stuff a little different in Louisiana. But because
of the fact that the districting the case I went
to the Scotis was their case, they've postponed for about
sixty or ninety days, so that will not be happening
next Saturday on the sixteenth.

No interesting talking to Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute of Public
Polity Research. Jim, let's talk about something real. You know,
we talk about all this stuff and we're getting towards that,
but the Spencer Pratt thing has got America paying attention.
There's a guy, I think it is in Alabama that
took out a billboard because he wants to raise money
for Spencer Pratt California. I think everybody is looking at

this race because they're thinking to themselves, how can you
have the chaos that you have and continue to put
chaos back in charge of things? And he's been all
over the news. You've got lots of people in the
left giving money to him, because there there's a difference
between being a Democrat being insane. And you've got you know,
but you are very pragmatic and real. You're there give

us a sense he's got no chance in hell right
when push comes to shove and the machine starts to work.

Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
Well, yeah, I don't think he does. I think this
is a lot of hype on stuff. I think this
happened for in races.

It's aecially stuff that I when I was down in
Orange County working on working with stuff and covering it.
You get all these people that are all really exciting
you kind of thought that carried out through the rest
of the county or the rest of the district, and
then you find out the election day they lost sixty
forty because you were basically around the only group of
people that were actually really interested in that person or
in that you know, in their positions. And I would

like to see Pratt because La has become a dumpster fire,
and I mean worse than a dumpster fire, literally a
fire unfortunately, which he and his family lost their home.
His family is he lost his home, his parents lost
their home in the Palisades fire.

And he's been a rallying point.

Speaker 18 (01:40:50):
He's been an outspoken person against the horrible leadership in
Los Angeles.

Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
The you know, you've got a lot of things you've got.

You know, this is maybe not ground zero from thinks
Francisco's ground zero for TDS for Trump arrangement, but it's
very strong in Los Angeles, don't you know, don't forget
about it, where the entertainment capital of the world.

Speaker 4 (01:41:08):
And I don't think there's about twelve people in there.

Speaker 18 (01:41:10):
That would be caught dead voting Republican who want to
keep their jobs in Hollywood. But yeah, the numbers break
down to about in the city, it's about one point
two million Democrats and about three hundred and sixty five
thousand Republicans and about one hundred and fifty five thousand,
give or take for NPP no party preference, which is
an option in California, which generally is this avowed Republicans
that are irritated and angry and don't want to register

(01:41:32):
as Republicans anymore. Generally is with that come down to
so he's got a you know, a serious three three
point five to one.

Margie's got to overtake. There's a lot of people that
are frustrated.

Speaker 18 (01:41:43):
There's a lot there's a lot of Democrats that aren't
happy about it because it has been a disaster. Karen
Bass has been an absolute disaster. Gaenchi let the city burn.
The other option is Nthia Rahman, who has been on
the city council since twenty twenty, who is aligned somewhat
with the DSA, the Democratic Socialist of America. If you're
not familiar who they are, think Bernie Sanders and think

Mayor Mandami. Those are probably their two biggest names. AOC
isn't exactly DSA, but she's aligned with DSA, and Showy
say she's DSA friendly, yes, for lack of a better phrase,
and they're so. So you've got Nthia Roman, who's left
of Karen Bass. Karen Bass, who has been horrible, was
in Congress for thirty years, won the race in twenty

(01:42:26):
twenty two to become the mayor.

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
It's done a horrible job. Homelessness crime.

Speaker 18 (01:42:30):
They just passed another, you know, and the city council
has got I think there's twelve member, twelve or fourteen members,
and five or three or four of them are DSA
members or actual DSA supported people. And they passed a
new omission or a new resolution of the city Council
that the police will no longer be able to pull
people over for expired tags, no headlights, broken tail lights,

(01:42:56):
cracked windshields, stuff like that, because they think that it
just disapproptionately affects brown and black people. So they're gonna
There were seventy seven thousand of those stops in the
last four years, and don't know how many crimes they
were able to solve because of pulling people over for
those things. But they've been told by the city Council
that as races, they would no longer do that. So

(01:43:16):
there aren't even serious about trying to fight crime in
Los Angeles. It's just a disaster. And Nithia Rahman claims
that she's trying to help the homeless, but when people
complain about a homeless in cabin at fifty feet from
one of the elementary schools, she basically just walked out
of their meeting and wouldn't even talk to them about it.
It's naturally ridiculous. Pratt is really on a populist, populist
bind right now. He is really gaining you know, he's

(01:43:38):
really seeming to be gaining attention. But there are so
many people in LA that are just not interested. They
go between two points. They don't see a lot of
this stuff. It doesn't affect them on their daily basis. Literally,
unless a homeless person comes up and like, you know,
hits you know, hits their car with a tire iron
or punctures or tires or you know, you know, yells
at them if they're at the you know, at the

(01:43:58):
big Hollywood mall or something. There are a lot of
people just don't see it on a daily basis, and
they just kind of oblivious to it, unfortunately. But if
amily doesn't make a change at this point, I don't
know what the future of Remaly is gonna be. I mean,
I think this is kind of a point where, look,
if you're just gonna you either make a change at
this point or you throw the keys in and walk
away from it, because it's just not gonna get any
better by electing either Ramen or Bass. So it's just

there's got to be a change. Is is Pratt the
best guy with the most experienced now, but give him
a chance. How much worse can he do than not
burning the city down?

If he's not Karen Bass? And I think, you know,
at least this point, take a chance on him.

You know, everyone calls him a you know, a washed
up reality star, but hey, the guy's got ideas. The
guy's willing to work at it. He's trying really hard,
and he's done really well in the debates. Fat Karen
Bass announced just say she's not showing up for the
next debate. She's just not gonna She's just not going
to be there. I don't know if because her performance
has been bad, they don't want to expose here anymore.

If she thinks that she's got it wrapped.

Up, because again the same thing. If no one gets
to fifty.

Percent in the primary on June second, they will go
into a runoff with the top two. But if she
can somehow get past fifty percent, there's no runoff. She's
the mayor for the next four years, so she's.

Not polling that well right now.

But when it comes time to volte up to see
who's going to fill out the ballots, then boy, I
sure hope Spencer Prackett at least make it in the runoff.

It'll be at least make it to the runoff, because
you know, as more stuff comes out, there's more and
more people, and it just gets worse by the day.
