Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
I called it.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
I called it, doubly called it. Had they allowed that
one touchdown, I'd have been very close. I think I
said thirty eight fourteen something like that would have been
the final twenty nine to thirteen close. But it was
never close. That game was a whoopin' the champions of
(00:37):
the world of the Sea, Seattle.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
Rains above them all in the NFL, the Seahawks Super
Bowl champions for the second time.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
He deserved that bath or an incredible job he's talking.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
I shot, take it all in, take it all in. Indeed
the comeback Sam Darnald and his.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Just what seemed to be.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
The eptic disaster of his NFL career going to the Jets,
which goes to.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Show you each and every time I say every time, I.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Say sometimes it's about who drafts you and the Jets,
well they're the Jets. From there, goes to Carolina, struggles
a little bit from there a year, backing up in
San Francisco, where he said, I learned so much. From
(01:38):
there to Minnesota wins fourteen games, and then onto Seattle
with Super Bowl champ very exciting. Loved that right there.
And by the way, yes they brought it back.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Sam Darnald Man, Kenneth Talker the third, You and the
Seattle Seahawks had just won the Super What.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Are you going to do next?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
And disnally and they go Ken Walker the third, Kenneth
Walker Third. He won the MVP as he should. Hell
of a game. Dominant game, dominant defense, dominant team.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
There was nothing new England could do to slow him down.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Nothing, I'm when a damn thing they could do to
slow down and really make a nightmare. When he came
to passing the ball for the Patriots, there was just
nothing they could do. They get to ask kicked every
time Drake May dropped back. You're like it's coming, it's coming,
And I don't care how good of a quarterback you are.
(02:47):
I do not care how good you are. If you
have no time, you will pay the price. Remember last
year they got on Sam done all Look how horribly
played against the Rams. Look how horribly played had sacked
nine times.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
You don't.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Really have a chance of winning a game if your
quarterbacks on their butt all day.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
That defense was awesome.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Sam Donald did everything he needed to do and the
rest took care of itself. So congratulations Seattle. I called
it last week. I said they were gonna win. Something
about that defense. It played itself out. It wasn't an
exciting game. It wasn't a great game. You realized after
a while it wasn't if. But when it was gonna happen,
they imposed their will and now they're the champions. But
(03:35):
there was a half time all the half time. Yeah, well,
we can't not talk about the halftime show Bad Bunny
and the rival halftime show TPUSA.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
How did bad Bunny did? He did what Bad Bunny doesn't?
Yo ya John nor.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
Peu God bless America, Santa Adhambina purdu why catajuay Bolivia,
per Columbia, Venezuela, Panama and puate Mala Americo, Upama, Nasty Dana.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Da oh my by la Badri Puerto Rico. Oom.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I had a little bit of a Lady Gaga in
the middle of it. I thought it was entertaining and good.
The energy was through the roof.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Oh, but Chad, he didn't sing in English and whatever,
I don't I mean whatever, It's all good. Did anybody
did anybody die from it? No? No, it didn't.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
And I thought it was a snapshot of what is
what is a lot of America. And remember, as I
tried to explain to people who push back, well you
still understand A, he's an American and B and this
is very important.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Merca has changed and where they have come from.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Some of the people he used in there, including the
taco shop owner at the beginning of it was is
not a taco shop, it's it's cart in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Was very cool. It was it was nice, it was fun.
It's fine. And he didn't say anything crazy. Oh my god.
And you know what I woke up today. I still
speak English. Dresses what.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
No dresses?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
No, didn't worship Satan or grew many children or whatever
the right thought's going to happen. Donald Trump truth out.
The super Bowl halftime show is absolutely terrible, one of
the worst ever.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
It makes no sense.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Is it affront to the greatest of America, doesn't represent
our standards of success, creativity and excellence. Nobody understands a
word this guy is saying and the dancing is discussing.
Especially for young children that are watching from throughout the
US and all over the world, this show is just
a slap in the face to our country, which is
setting new standards for records every single day, including the
(06:45):
best stock market.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
In for one case history. There is nothing What does
it have to do with any of this?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a halftime
show and watch it will get great reviews from the
fake news me because they haven't got a clue of
what's going on in the real world. And by the way,
the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new kickoff rule
make America great again, President Donald Jay Trump. So there
you go, throw the four to one case in there. Meanwhile,
(07:15):
tp U s A had their version of.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
It, take Care, and there was that at one time
(07:42):
they had like six million people watching it.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
It was it was good.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I mean the you know, performances were good.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean it was I told my wife it felt
at times like a church you know, megachurch worship survey.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
So is what it is.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
It's this politics of crap that everybody is fighting all
the time where we can find wokeness and in reality,
bad Bunny was fine, did his thing.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
It is what it is, and.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
What they did over TPUSA was fine. I cared more
about the game and that's pretty much about it. As
I think most people do. The audiences are different. And
remember too, the halftime show usually is bigger than the
Super Bowl, and it's a business, and the business is
(08:38):
trying to grow more business in the NFL. And he's
the biggest artist arguably in the world right now. And
because of that, they're trying to grab Spanish speaking Portuguese
and bring them into the NFL fold to get them excited,
(08:59):
which creates more fans, which creates anybody more revenue.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Could you see it in a few years, NFL, Latin America,
right teams in Buenos Aires, right teams at Montevedeo teams
in Brasil, what, oh yeah, everywhere?
Speaker 5 (09:20):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I mean we have Venezuela now.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Just insane? Just did say, watching people freak out over this. Meanwhile,
Savannah Guthrie, the mystery continues. Apparently they said they will pay,
they will pay for the ransom, And I'm not quite
sure what exactly that itself means, because is there a ransom?
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Is there not?
Speaker 3 (09:51):
As coyness as the world kind of watches this unfold,
It's been a very bizarre situation, to say the least.
And the more that you hear about stuff about how
stuff was cut and you know how stuff was.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Turned around and broken, how they handled getting into the
house when they did, the more you realize, Okay, maybe
there is this is the kidnapping.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
Friday, another communication came into a local television station here
in Tucson, and that's the one that Savannah Guthrie referenced.
Were told when she said, we received your message. The
FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department said they were
analyzing the message, but they did not say whether they
believe it's authentic or credible. But they're taking seriously the
(10:36):
possibility that Nancy Guthrie is being held for ransom. And
in Savannah Guthrie's carefully worded an emotional Instagram post, the
family want to communicate that they're taking seriously the idea
they will do what it takes to get their mother back.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Including paying several million dollars in bitcoin. It's it's just
the story that is not just us. By the way,
the world's watching this. People are like, how and why
did somebody take an eighty four year old woman who
is ill. She may be sharp as attack, but her
(11:11):
body isn't. She's in constant pain. And from what everybody
has known about her now is obviously she's got a
pacemaker and that is connected to her phone and everything.
So this is is it's a weird story, but the
news around the world is watching it because people are
curious about.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
How why would this happen? And the Guthries they are
ready to pay. It's a proof of life.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
That's what everybody's waiting for as well. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three Atch had Meta shows, your
actual insta YouTube and more right here on the Chad
Beens on the show we got our buddy Jim Kennedy.

Speaker 2 (12:07):

rather than later, especially in these the you know, the
sectors of AI things of that nature which you talked about.

One Coming up our Olympic updates. Oh bad crash yesterday
from Lindsa Vaughn Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
You're listening to the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
From the super Bowl, we head over to Melan Cortina
for the Olympics. That is right, the Olympics in full swing.
(13:40):
So far, so good ish except for Lindsay Vaughn. Yesterday,
so week after her crash. Okay, so she crashes, she
tears her acl but she's going to compete.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
She does.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Everybody's like, there's no way she can do it. She
does a couple you know runs early on practice runs,
seems to be okay. Then yesterday, early on.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
Lindsay Vaughn comes through.
Speaker 9 (14:02):
She's coming into the turn and as she approaches the gate,
she clips the gate with her arm or her shoulder.
Speaker 8 (14:08):
And as soon as she does that, we know the
photographer that this is bad.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, very bad?
Speaker 5 (14:14):
How bad?
Speaker 9 (14:15):
As I was running up to try to see her
and see if people were helping her, the emergency helicopter
came down.
Speaker 8 (14:21):
At that point, I was like, this is a serious injury.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Broken leg. She will not be competing on the broken leg. Uh,
that's it.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
I mean, in my mind, there's not a lot else
you're gonna be able to do. What are our great
skiers of all time? She made an amazing comeback after
not competing for years, and here she is trying to
do it then on an ACL that's torn, only to
have her.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Leg broken now, which sucks.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
So that, you know, I think there was that whole
thought process, right that Carrie shrug moment of here she
comes maybe gets on the podium with a torn ACL
and then rides out into the sunset.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Instead she flew off in a helicopter.
Speaker 10 (14:59):
The work that we put in the careers, I think
obviously you know, my heart aches for her, and yeah,
it's it's a tough road and it's a tough sport.
I think that that's the you know, the beauty and
the madness of it, that it can hurt you so badly,
but you keep coming back for more.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
And she did. I mean she didn't have to. She
was already decorated. She was already you know, the queen
in many ways. Now we move from there to skating.
That's right.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
We retired with the Japanese in the team competition, and
then the quad God came in.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Did a quad? Did a flip?
Speaker 11 (15:33):
Won the game?
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Or whatever?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
It is?
Speaker 12 (15:35):
What? What?
Speaker 2 (15:36):
And the reason we won? Ilia Malanin. You don't know
who he is. He's the quad God.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
That's what they call him. Now you know your Olympic update.
So we'd like to give it to each and every
day right here on the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
The quad God. Dude, what's it like being the quad God?
Speaker 11 (15:54):
It's honestly, I'll say it's an honor.
Speaker 12 (15:57):
It always gives me that thrill to land it because
such a unique element.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Unique element.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Indeed, Friday Night, by the way, was the opening ceremonies,
and it was very interesting to watch, first of all,
the way that they did it, because it's in two places.
It's at Cortina, which is like six hours away, and
then it's in Milan. And Milan they formed everything at
the Sanzio Stadium Courtina, small little town, and they did
(16:25):
a lot of it right in the middle of the town,
and so both places would have a flag bear. Obviously
in you know, the sant Zero they had all of
the people for the teams, and for the most part
they'd had one or two representatives in Courtina, and Cortina
(16:46):
is where they are doing alpine skiing, right sliding sports.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Including bob slid skelton and luge.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Curling and snowboarding, big air and other events, so that's
going on there, and then in Milan they're having you know,
the ice dancing and the ice.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Skating and all of that stuff. So quite frankly, it's
spread out nicely. It was an interest.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I thought the Italians did a pretty good job. I
thought they did a fairly good job all things considered,
and let's be real. They didn't start all strong, with
some games being postponed, lights going out, things of that nature.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
So far though, so good. There's your Olympic update coming up.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Midterm Mondays our buddy Jim Kennedy, Kennedy Institute Public Policy Research,
Joints and program. We talked midterms, among other things Tradad
Chad Benson shown.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 13 (18:05):
Now it's time for midterm Mondays, where we break down
the biggest races from the midterms. Who will control the House,
who will control the Senate. We discussed with Jim Kennedy
Midterm Mondays.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
It is Mondays on the Chad Benson Show. So what
does that bringing mid Term Mondays? We break down the
mid terms going forward, all the races. Everything are good, Buddy,
Jim Kennedy, Kennedy instat of Public Policy Research joins the
program and Jim first and foremost, we've had a couple
more retirements since we've last talked.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
What's that all about?
Speaker 14 (18:38):
Yeah, a couple more people bailing the ship. A couple
of Republicans. Barry louder Milk and the Georgia Eleventh announced
on the fourth that he is out. He is going
to retire, and so did Mark Modai, the Nevada second
announced on February sixth that he will be retiring and
not running for reelection. So that brings us up to
about fifty retirements and House so far, the numbers are
(19:01):
predicted to get to sixty by the time we start
getting into the primary season. Twenty two Democrats right now
and twenty eight Republicans are stepping down numbers kind of
to me. That to me, that number strikes me as
kind of balanced. We're kind of thinking there might be more,
it could be more weighted towards Republicans. And maybe when
you know, maybe as we get farther into the year,
(19:22):
we'll find more Republicans stepping aside than Democrats. Uh, based
on the you know, on the possibility of what may
happen in the House, and they may decide.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
They don't want to be in the minority.
Speaker 14 (19:31):
They may not want to give up their chairmanship for
anybody that's got a you know, that's got a chairmanship
up there. So we'll off to see. But but yeah, no,
we got two more. So, like I said, we're up
to we're up to sixty. No changes in the Senate.
Nobody has moved on there. We do have an endorsement.
Clay Fuller has been endorsed by President Trump and he
is running for He'll be running earlier because he's he's
(19:54):
running for the Georgia fourteenth, which is MTG Mergory Taylor
Green seat that she resigned on January six.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Because he's a trader.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
He's a trainer.
Speaker 15 (20:05):
And Chady, we were looking at his website. What was
your what was your comment on? Oh, he's extra white.
He did do it is extra white.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
They pulled him out of Uh, they went straight to
somebody from from central casting. We need this guy to
have the extra jaw that looks very jaw like and
just the perfect family and we need to put him
in a place where they have got the leaves falling
and they look it's just extra Hilary hilarious.
Speaker 16 (20:31):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 14 (20:32):
And he's got the perfect background DA Law and Order,
Army or Air National Guard.
Speaker 13 (20:37):
Jay.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
Yeah, So he's got all the credentials.
Speaker 14 (20:40):
You know, he's you know, he's going to be the
perfect candidate I think to run in to run in
northern Georgia. I mean, that's the kind of people you
elect out of northern Georgia. But yeah, he was definitely
out of central casting when it comes to the candidates.
I mean, you know, we'll see what happens as far
as Georgia.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Let's see.
Speaker 14 (20:58):
Now, I don't know if I think they're gonna run
that primary earlier because they want to fill that seat
up and the Georgia let me see, get me down
to my list. George is not running their primaries until Oh.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Boy, that's let me see when is joja real? Quickly?
Speaker 14 (21:15):
May nineteenth will be the Georgia primary, so that might
be the one. Then they're not gonna be that far.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Out talking to Jim Kennedy Kennedy instead of public policy research.
Let's get down to the primaries, because you explain it
to me, they're all over the place, starting.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Very soon and ending very late.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Yes they are.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
And it's very odd.
Speaker 14 (21:31):
I actually checked a couple of sourcing one Wait a minute,
is that that list just doesn't look right because basically
we're gonna spend the next six months in primary land
three weeks from tomorrow. In fact, we start the primaries
on March third in Arkansas, Bill Clinton's home state, Illinois,
North Carolina and Texas and Texas is gonna be extra
(21:51):
interesting because that Senate seat is gonna be really juicy
for six months. And that runoff and then that primary
on the Democrat side between Telarcio and Jasmine Crockett has
definitely got some national coverage and some national interest in it.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
I think he will beat her and no one. I don't.
Speaker 14 (22:11):
We'll get some numbers on that one next week, but
I don't think. I think he seems like a better
candidate than she says.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
I'm sorry, I just do not. I have a hard
time taking her seriously.
Speaker 14 (22:20):
I'm just I'm sorry, but I just don't take I
just don't take her seriously some of the crazy stuff
that she says. No, maybe that's great to rile voters
up and to make her think that their big people
think that she can win that seat in a you know,
traditionally red red red Texas.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
But I just think that Tulersia.
Speaker 14 (22:39):
Would probably be the better candidate for the Democrats. Not
that I personally want to help the Democrats, but you know,
I would think, Chad, what's your take on Texas in
that Senate primary?
Speaker 2 (22:47):
You know, so tell Rico is an interesting cat. You know,
he's on with rogue and he's in that kind of
he had.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
He had a nice following, but then it really blew
up because people were looking at him and say, Rogan,
he dig this guy on.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
He gets the guy on. And I've watched him and
he is very interesting and he's the kind of guy
that can get some disgruntled Republicans, no doubt, can get
a lot of independence, no doubt, and I think can
easily get a ton of Democrats. I look at her,
so Jas mc crockett.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
There are times when I watch her when it is
non like podcasty things, and she can she's I think,
I think people are surprised she is way more in
touch with the average political situation rather than just the
the what we see a lot of her, which is
she likes to make noise, she likes to troll, she
(23:33):
likes to say stuff that's big, she likes the pelebrity
side of stuff. But then there are other times I
look at her and she'll sit down and have actual,
real good conversations that you know, because we expect her
now to say crazy stuff, and and that is it's
it's frustrating because unfortunately, as you know, in the world
of politics now everything's performative. But Taala Rico, I think
(23:56):
if he gets by and and and beats her and
then he faces Paxton, which is going to be if
he wins, I think they've got a good shot of
flipping that seat and turning it blue.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
In Texas, yeah, that'll be interesting.
Speaker 14 (24:12):
I said, we'll know that primary and they're going to
have a long general election campaign in that state. Moving
on down the list, Mississippi is going to be a
March tenth. Then we got two months off until May fifth,
and you get some midwestern Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia,
so probably that the MTGC probably a May nineteenth along
(24:36):
with kentucky'd be interesting to see whos gonna fill Mitch
McConnell's seat, who's going to be the candidates there. And
you'll also get Pennsylvania on May nineteenth. California June second
with Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
So that's going to be a big day for primaries.
Speaker 14 (24:56):
June is just gobsmacked with prime June ninth, you got
four more states including Nevada June sixteenth to Oklahoma and
South Carolina. South Carolina's primaries around the ninth, but if
they don't get enough votes to get to that fifty
percent margin, they'll be a runoff the following week. So wow,
that's a pretty short turnaround for a runoff coming up
(25:17):
New York twenty third.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Then we get July off, and we go to August and.
Speaker 14 (25:22):
You get Arizona, Kansas, Washington, Michigan, Texas, and Hawaii coming
up the few days after that, and then August. Towards
the end of August, you get Alaska, Wyoming, September one, Massachusetts,
and finally the last primary. As Chad was saying, we're
talking a long time, September fifteenth in Delaware will be
(25:43):
the final primary. So yeah, that covers a solid six
months a primary. So that's really gonna be weird because,
like we talked about the Texas seat, there are going
to be flogging each other for seven solid months, and
the people in Delaware are barely going to have sixty
days until the general election. From other time they figure
out who's going to be running in the House seat,
and the and and the seats there. So that's very
(26:06):
interesting because that means that Texas is going to take
an incredible amount of money if they're really going to
go after each other for seven solid months and guy
like packs and I think probably would if he does
win the primary. I think he's gonna he would be
the kind of guy that would go at it for
seven months. So, boy, if you're in Texas, you're gonna
be prepared to see a lot of campaign commercials coming
(26:27):
on your television set between between now and the start
of November.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
So uh, I remember.
Speaker 14 (26:33):
It's funny because you know, living in California, you know,
we don't have very many races here that that that
are close. Unfortunately, they tend to be Democrats. And it
was interesting because my mom moved in Nevada. I'd go
up to go up to Nevada like in October, and boy,
every other ad on TV was a was a political
ad for campaign. Vote for me for for House, vote
(26:54):
for me for Centate, vote for me for governor, and
with both sides just going crazy.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
And it's kind of thing that I've missed in but
I'll be interesting by the way.
Speaker 14 (27:02):
California, June second will also be the California the California
primary for the governor's race, which will be a good
race as as good old Gavin Newsom has served US
two terms, and we'll be departing US and possibly becoming
the problem for America.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
As he decided, really he'll run for president in twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Eight talking to Jim Kennedy Kennedy instead of public policy research.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
All right, Jim, So I've seen.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
You know, everybody's got their armchair punditry going now, but
there's some you know, I was watching with Halpern the
other night. I forgot who he had on talking about
the what he thinks a big Republican poll person and
strategists who said, Mark, I'll be honest with you, I
think the Republicans on the good end lose fifteen to
(27:48):
twenty seats if things go sideways. I could see him
losing up to forty and I thought, whoa, yeah, that's huge.
But for me, I feel like there's a good chance.
I think the Republicans are gonna lose House. It isn't,
you know, unless something crazy happens. But the reality is
is I think a lot of people feel that way.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
And you said what Cook said, there's forty seats realistically
that are up for grabs.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Yeah, there's forty contested seats.
Speaker 14 (28:14):
Everything else is pretty much too red or too blue
to really move, which means that you're you're gonna have
to have a serious way of election if you're going
to move those all forty of those seats in one direction. Now,
the major betting are the major betting sites, the wagering
sites have moved slightly about what point towards a Democrat
over the last week.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
That's not a lot considering how far out we are.
Speaker 14 (28:36):
But yeah, I also one thing that help And brought
up last week was there are some the Democrats or
the Republicans have been showing some internal polling numbers that
shall we say, do not make them happy and kind
of tend to turn their stomachs over that is, you know,
that is leaning towards not going to be a.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Very good November mid term.
Speaker 14 (28:58):
The numbers could get ugly, could get in some of
those you know, get some of those high numbers and
not make it ten or twelve. It could be like
you were talking about twenty five thirty maybe on a
you know, a in a real landslide of forty type
number out there. So, yeah, there are some polling numbers. Again,
we've got ten months, we've got eight nine months, of
the election. So there's a long, long time ago. A
(29:19):
lot of things can happen. Economy goes south, the economy
can go north, Aliens could land. I mean, we've got
a lot of things going on between now and then
that you know can change it. But yet, an interesting
statu member last week about you know, that's still stuck
in my head that just about everybody on January first
has decided what they're going to do, and come November
those numbers.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Don't change very often. So if that's the case, it's
not going to be a good year.
Speaker 14 (29:42):
For the Republic and it's gonna be a good year
for the Democrats, which means, you know, I mean, the
larger issue with that is that means that the Democrats
in the House, if they do take the House, they're
going to spend all of their time doing one thing
trying to impeach Donald Trump, and he will be a
complete and under lame duck from the third of January
twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
You know, Jim, it's funny because there is conventional wisdom
that I've seen the likes of you know, Schumer and
a few others say, hey, there's no reason to convin
there's no reason to go after him. He's a lame duck,
you know. The reason to turn him into a martyr.
Just try to get your stuff passed, get a shot down,
(30:24):
vice versa. Try to do your job and let everything
else fall where it may. But don't don't let him
become an extra martyr for you know, for everybody out
there in the Republican side of stuff. Don't let him
become this this this face again of martyrdom if we
go after him, instead, surprise everybody and don't go after him.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Just block the stuff you don't like and you know,
move forward.
Speaker 14 (30:50):
I think that detrained, I think that's that is a
to me, that's a wise decision. The problem is Schumer
is not the most popular Democrat and there's a lot
of people that want is hired as minority leader right now.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
So what the number of people that are willing.
Speaker 14 (31:06):
To listen to him? And it's going to also depend
upon the makeup of the House. Who wins these elections.
Are we talking about a lot of progressive a lot
of far left wingers that are winning these elections for
the Democrats? If there is a you know, solid Democrat majority,
and how far left they're going to want to push
because to me, the ones that want to push farther
left the are be the ones going to be more
inclined to get rid of Trump than the moderate ones.
(31:29):
They are going to want to come there to get
something done. And remember, like you said, a lot of
people you know, to me, it seems like people that
are coming into the House more and more are there
for performance. Are there to build a brand, are there
to get on television, Are there to get those MSNBC
or sorry, ms now and CNN segments and those hits
(31:49):
that they want to come to them because they'll say
crazy things and they'll get news coverage. So stuff like
that is not does to me, does not tend to
believe that it would be a sane group of people
or a conscientious group of people that just want to
do something that for the betterment of America. But they
want their time, and they want their you know, they
want their celebrity ranking, and they want their notice.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
And as a freshman in the House of Representatives, right.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
On, Jim Kennedy, Kennedy, instead of public policy research, we

Speaker 2 (34:04):
The March continues day one oh seven.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
The Monks on the March, the one hundred and twenty
day March. They left Dallas Fort Worth in October. They're
on their way to DC a little bit of peace.
Speaker 17 (34:18):
As quickly as you can snack the pebble from my hand,
when you can take the pebble from my hand, it
will be time.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
For you to be Now.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
It's time for your daily Monk March update.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Time for you to leave.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
All right, I right, all right, let's find out what
they are.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
So they're wanding through Alexandra heading towards Arlington today. This
is what they said, Step by step we carry the
message of peace, mindfulness, loving kindness and compassion forward. You're
deeply grateful to continued support and warm welcome we receive
along the way. They're going to stop today at Christ
Church's Alexandra in Virginia. Overnight they're going to stay at
(34:57):
Marymount University on Cleeve Road, and our good buddy, hopefully
Phil will get out there and say hi to them,
because that's where producer Phil is at.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
And they're excited.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
They're excited at the lunch stop in particularly if people
stop by and say hello to them. So one hundred
and twenty days is what they're thinking. So they get
about twelve and a half days left before they get
to DC. In their March four Peace following it up
with them as we do every day tomorrow three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, directs
your instent all the other things right here in the
(35:36):
Chad Benson Show coming up, hour number two of the program.
A lot of good stuff still to get to. The
followed continues.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
From Bad Bunny. Oh my god, Bad Bunny performed. Oh geez,
I watch both of them.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
It was fine.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
I don't get it.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
You know, the chaos, the craziness, the lunacy of us
fighting all the time, twenty four having over something that
we shouldn't be welcome to the world we live in.
Also more on Savannah Gun three and her mom them
saying they'll pay the ransom.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
This just gets weirder and weird.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
I by today, Trump, our X economy, all of the stuff,
and there's plenty of it still to talk about. Me
missing new show sham when you do the podcast, hour
of two of the program is straight ahead.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
This is the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
It went as I said it was going to go,
and it happened. I told you what was going to happen.
Get did listen? Yoh?
Speaker 3 (37:02):
They were gonna be denied, the Seahawks outside of the Rams, right,
those are the best two teams in the NFL period.
Seahawks did everything they needed to to make sure they
were home, got to the Super Bowl and did what
they were gonna do.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Which is impose their will they imposed their will. Their
defense was strong.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
It imposed itself upon a very average line and made
Drake may look very average. Indeed, and because of that
number two for you when it comes to the Lombardy.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Seattle Rains above the Bowl in the NFL, the Seahawks
Super Bowl champions for the second time, they deserved.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
That bad We're an incredible job.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
He's tuck shot. Take it all in.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
Mike McDonald's celebrating Sam Donald celebrating It was a hell
of a journey, especially for somebody like Sam Donald.
Speaker 12 (38:13):
I'm not usually I'm not usually a crier on an
emotional person.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
No I'm not.
Speaker 12 (38:18):
I'm not gonna cry with them, but man like, it
was just to be able to share a moment just now,
like five minutes ago with my parents and Katie, my fiance.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Like my parents they.
Speaker 12 (38:30):
Were they believed in me. They believed to me from
when I was a child held playing this game. I
would make mistakes. I would make mistakes off the field too.
They know it, and you know, they they would teach
me lessons and and all these things throughout life, and
and they just believed in me, you.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
Know, throughout my entire career. And I credited them to.
Speaker 11 (38:51):
Why I'm still here and why I'm still chasing this.
Speaker 12 (38:53):
Dream because they always believed in me and it allowed
me to move in myself.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
So if you guys don't know, Sam's chair.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
SC by the way, weird thing first sc quarterbacks start
a Super Bowl, Hello weird, goes to the Jets, where
pretty much everybody goes to just suck and die. Then
from there you figure, okay, he's stunk. They trade him
off to Carolina, starts a few games, then they bring
in Baker Mayfield and it it just doesn't go great there.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Off to sound Francisco.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Goes there, doesn't play Brock party superstar out of nowhere?
Speaker 2 (39:34):
What does he do? Backs up Rock? But he learns
he learns.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
So much, right, just from Shanahan, and everybody learns. He said,
I learned how to prepare, learn how to be a quarterback.
Why because you've been around crap, That's why. Then off
to Minnesota, right, better than the first two, probably not
as good as San Francisco helps them win fourteen games
out of nowhere, and then goes into the free agent market,
(40:06):
lands in Seattle, wins himself of a super Bowl. Yes,
good for them, and it's the defense. The defense is
just nothing but dogs, just beast. And then you had
Kenneth Walker the third, who absolutely just imposed his will
(40:31):
from top to bottom on the Patriots. Patriots had no
answer for anything. And because of that, you're looking right.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Now at number two Lombardi and they're a team.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
That is good and with that defense and as young
as they are, and that matters because fat contracts aren't
being paid out yet. That's when everything changes. You become
a dynasty in the NFL when you learn how to
move the money the right way and where you can
focus on. And if I'm the Patriots today, I'm going
and I'm thinking we need a whole new line to
(41:07):
protect Drake May. I don't care how good you are.
And Sam Darnold saw it last year when he was
in Minnesota. You get your ass knocked on the ground
nine times, sacked by the Rams. You're not You're not
gonna come out well. Kept him clean last night, did
what he had to do playoffs. He threw five touchdowns,
(41:27):
no interceptions, so fantastic. Knew what was gonna happen. I
was close to what did I say, thirty six fourteen
something like that. I think on Friday and it was
twenty nine thirteen, and had they scored the touchdown that
they called back, it would have been thirty six thirteen.
Very close, but I got the win. I know what
(41:49):
you guys are thinking, Chad, what about the halftime show?
Speaker 5 (41:52):
Chad?
Speaker 2 (41:53):
What about the halftime show? Should we do a little mashup?
Speaker 10 (41:57):
What?
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Don Mario?
Speaker 8 (41:59):
No?
Speaker 5 (41:59):
No, John know you ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
Welcome to the All American halftime Show.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
Let's get to it. This is real American. John know
your you know, Hey, I I say, jeez, deal, you know.
(42:56):
So there you go a little match up right there.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
But both were you know, I thought bad Bunny tons
of energy does what he does, puts on a hell
of a show.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
That's what it was. And remember you've got X amount
of times. I think it was a real wedding, you know,
Lady Gaga, that was great.
Speaker 5 (43:12):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
And then the halftime show for TPUSA. Watched a bit
of it. Seemed good, but I I was still my wife.
It feels like it's a It was a worship service
set of megachurch at times. And not to be mean
to anybody, but this is the way this is gonna
break down. So you guys, understand, the people on the
left are gonna say Bad Bunny was the most amazing
thing they've ever seen in the world.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
That was all the things, and da da da da.
Right people on the rights is gonna they're gonna.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Say that it was awful, it was horrible, is the
worst thing I've ever seen, and and and and it
was just absolute crap and it was evil. Right, So
that's what you're gonna get there now for the TPA USA.
The people on the left are gonna say it was
absolute crap and it was horrible, and it was just crap,
and these people are racist and.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
Evil and dah dah dah.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
The people on the right are gonna say, it's the
most amazing thing and it was everything that America is
and blah blah, blah blah.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
Here's what it was.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Both of them were fine. There you go.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Bad Bunny is a business decision, period case closed. Get
over yourself if you think it's because they want everybody
to hate each other. He's a business decision. You're trying
to expand you're tapping out the world market. We talk
the numbers. The numbers are big. There's no doubt Yesterday's
(44:28):
biggest show of the year, the NFL. As we break
it down each and every year, biggest show, what do
we get, I'm never.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
Gonna watch it. They can and they're gonna watch it
because of the meanness of them, and they hate America,
the NFL and never what fine, that's fine again, they
don't care. They're trying to expand their market. Where's the
market now?
Speaker 3 (44:49):
They're looking at Central America, South America, Spain, Portugal, all
of Europe. They're trying to expand their market because they
also know the World's Cup coming. The World Cup is
going to be here. By the way, the influencers this year,
it's very interesting, many of them that are big influencers
(45:12):
special globally didn't.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Do a lot with this.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Why because they've already signed up for the World Cup
because they know the eyes on the World Cup games
are way bigger, way bigger.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
Oh I want don't know about that? Yeah, now you do,
Now you do.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
When asked about the halftime show, John Leguizamo, Oh man,
are you.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
As emotional as I am? No to see your people
out there and celebrated.
Speaker 5 (45:40):
It's getting to me.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
Buss very excited about that. Okay, what about somebody like
mister Adams Handler, what do you think I.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
Have to all?
Speaker 18 (45:50):
Benita was unbelievable, loose happy, made everybody ecstatic.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
I loved it.
Speaker 5 (45:56):
I'm congradt to the bunny. He's a great, great human
being awesome Flas get hold.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Congrats to the bunny for being a punny.
Speaker 5 (46:05):
It was what it was.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Everybody's gonna make far bigger things out of it, because
the whole thing is to divide us and to fight
over crap that doesn't matter. Both of those were fine.
If you liked one, great. If you didn't like one, great,
But this insanity of like, well he's an American, he's
all this kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
And just get over yourselves.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Shead Benson Show, is your ex Insta, YouTube, Facebook,
and more? Let me know what you think. We're also
going to talk commercials coming up a little bit. What
was your favorite commercial yesterday?
Speaker 2 (46:42):
There were a lot?
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Give you my grade on him overall. Meanwhile, Trump and
the tweet or truth or whatever the hell it was
on Friday? Has it gone anywhere? You knew it wasn't
going to go anywhere? And continues to be a now
thorn in the side of this administration, another unforced air.
(47:08):
Guess what happens with these They start to what they
start to add up, especially if things aren't going well.
And while Trump's excited about fifty thousand in the stock market,
four oh one k's, which is all great, the reality
is vast majority of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck
and struggling to do so. And then he tried to
(47:29):
blame it on some underling Mick Mulvaney, former chief of
staff for Donald Trump.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Not at late at night.
Speaker 18 (47:36):
Typically there'd be one other staff or Dan Scavino, who
very often posted on the president's X account. I understand
there's one other staff for now in this second administration,
Natalie somebody who I don't know as well, who also
might have access to his account. But that being said,
that would be during business hours. Minderstandings of this was
posted at eleven forty four at night, so sort of
(47:59):
the default set up amongst anybody would be that this
was the president himself. But people are going to see it.
This ad is going to be replayed in every single
one of the of the House and Senate races going
into these midterms. First, thing that came to my mind
after I got over the shock of this is, Oh
my goodness, you can kiss the midterms.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Goodbye, Yeah you can. We'll talk a little bit more
about this later.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Nick mulvaniy right there, former chief of staff for Donald
Trump coming up.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
We're gonna talk commercials.
Speaker 3 (48:26):

With the super Bowl yesterday. Obviously the commercials, right, the commercials,
the commercials, what's what's what's is the commercials? Who's that
is that? The commercials? Worse commercials. Here's a snapshot of
some of the commercials. It's all just a bit. That's
very kind of you. Mah is what I signed for?
Speaker 5 (50:09):
Horror Nah magician?
Speaker 2 (50:11):

Speaker 1 (50:21):
Yeah, which is great.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
It really isn't, but you know it is great. If
you go into a puff, you can see how Skittles
is delivering their big Game commercial starring Elijah Wood to
someone's house.
Speaker 19 (50:31):
They'll really deliver it to my house.
Speaker 2 (50:32):
Don't perform it on your line.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
What if I'm not home?
Speaker 2 (50:35):
That's kind of on you, isn't it. Do I get
to keep it?
Speaker 5 (50:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Deliver the rainbow? Taste the rainbow? Look at this a
little beauty.
Speaker 5 (50:42):
I fan the garden.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
Nice snake, Chris, Hey, who what is that Alexa? Plus

Speaker 5 (50:50):

Speaker 19 (50:53):

Speaker 16 (50:55):

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Million different ways? Maybe I'm taking out the trash jam.
Speaker 8 (51:00):
Take a closer, local, I pull up a tutorial A little.
Speaker 4 (51:03):
To the left.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
You're a widow.
Speaker 16 (51:09):
I was born in the deli. My best friend was
that Ballooney, That is until I met you.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Ham touching Ham, touching Geese, touching you Sweet sandwich time.
Some good ones in there. Lay's last harvest was good.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Redfinn the Pepsi, the choice Budweiser icons uh, some other
funny ones which was bud Light, keg Right with Shane Gillis,
Post Malone and Peyton Manning. That was kind of fun,
and the course good Will Duncan was fun as well.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
So some good ones. Nothing super like Oh my God
that stood out but paid a lot of money for him.
A lot of movie trailers and teasers to go watch
the movie trailers like Minions and Monsters, which my little
one just oh my God, they've got Minions and Monsters.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Chad Benson Show. That is your Ax, your Insta
and all the other stuff right here on the Chad
Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
Overall, not great. I'd give it a C plus B minus.
In the commercial world this year, there wasn't a lot.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
There wasn't anything where it was so awesome and a
lot of ai, especially taking people back to look like
their younger selves.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
Let me know what you think. What was your favorite.
There was a few other ones that.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Were there, including the anti Semitism ad, which I don't know,
didn't really do anything for me.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
The Epstein ad was on before the Super Bowl, but
that was pretty powerful.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
After years of being kept apart, We're standing.
Speaker 20 (53:12):
Together, standing standing together because this girl deserves the truth.
Speaker 11 (53:17):
Because she deserves the truth, because we all deserve the truth.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
I thought that was pretty, uh, pretty interesting because when
they said these girls deserve the truth, they were holding
the pictures of their younger selves, and I thought that
was pretty powerful.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
So, I mean, overall, it was kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
I mean everything in the spotlight obviously was on the
halftime show and what was going to happen, what was
going to be said, what was going to you know,
who was going to have a bigger audience. Well, I
mean the Super Bowl had a way bigger audience, not
that the TPUSA. I think at one time Max said
about six six million, So wasn't awful. I watched a
(53:57):
bit of both, and that was that. You know, superls
over no football till August, late August, and.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
We got a long way to go before we get
back to talking about foot broral three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show with your
ex your Insta and all of the other things that
you can visit us on right here on the Chad Benson.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Show, then Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
I'm a parent and I was a latch key kid.
Take of what it's worth.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
A lot of us were my generation, don't mess with
gen X. We have zero feelings whatsoever. Compartmentalize, No, we
don't care. It's the difference between compartmentalizing and carrot.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
So would we hear stories like this, we go what
the hell is wrong with us? Now?
Speaker 3 (55:05):
This took place in Georgia. This is a kid who
did something that is insane, scootered by himself.
Speaker 11 (55:14):
What It started on a route this kid knew, Well, my.
Speaker 19 (55:18):
Husband and I both work from home, and we were like, hey, enjoy.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
Go have fun.
Speaker 11 (55:22):
Parents Mallory and Chris letting their six year old scooter
alone to the park on a day off from school,
knowing he had friends and parents to meet there. It
was a smooth three blocks there on Atlanta's belt Line,
a busy recreational trail, but the ride home would change everything.
Speaker 19 (55:39):
He said, Well, I was on my way home and
a lady pulled her car in front of my scooter
and started asking me all kinds of questions.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
She said, who are you?
Speaker 19 (55:50):
You know, what's your name? Where?
Speaker 16 (55:51):
Do you live?
Speaker 19 (55:52):
Are you allowed to be out here? Where are your parents?
Speaker 3 (55:56):
First of all, that's creepy right there. Maybe just maybe
we should look into that woman. So we're scootering on
his own to a place he's very familiar with, with
people already there waiting for him.
Speaker 11 (56:06):
Oh my god, two days later, is there a problem
with letting him go to the playground? The knock on
the door? That would upset their lives?
Speaker 19 (56:16):
He would have to be like thirteen for him to
be thirteen, like twelve thirteen, for him to be like, okay,
you can go completely by hisself.
Speaker 20 (56:24):
Is that the law?
Speaker 19 (56:25):
Or is that like a I mean, they're going to
consider it an adequt suppreviation as davy.
Speaker 3 (56:32):
So I like that you have to be like thirteen thirteen,
maybe twelve, I don't know, inadequate. You have no idea
because you're coming up with some crap where you want
to feel good about what it is that you're doing
that somehow you caught somebody that.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Did something that you don't like. Oh my god, a
child that's independent, Sweet mother of goodness, what a clown.
Speaker 11 (56:51):
The Fulton County Division of Family and Children's Services investigating
a report of child abuse. Interviewing Mallory and Chris's two kids,
asking about drug abuse, malnutrition, and whether they were loved,
the family says, ultimately finding that allegations of neglect were substantiated.
Speaker 19 (57:11):
It was devastating, incredibly violating. It has been probably the
most stressful experience of my adult life. I'm constantly worried
that we're being watched.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
So let me I just want to go over this.
They asked about drug use, malnutrition, Are you loved? And
you got all that right there from a kid's scootering
on his own.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Yeah, but you don't understand.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
It is an area where kids are familiar with the
scootering process and they're scootering and because of that child's
being snatched up.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Don't you remember the kid killer in Atlanta? You let
a child murder? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (58:02):
Yeah, he's in jail maybe or dead. So let's just
settle down. Okay, let's just get over this.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
I what are you doing? How the f did we
get here?
Speaker 3 (58:14):
Many of you listening are in and around my age,
maybe a little bit younger, maybe a little bit older.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
And what are you thinking?
Speaker 3 (58:19):
You're in your fifties maybe forties. You have fun when
you were a kid Yeah, should play around when you're kid. Yeah,
did you ever worry about getting snatched up? Now we
saw those things, and don't talk to strangers, et cetera,
et cetera.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
That kind of bs.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Not that it didn't happen, but come on, then they're
interviewing your your kids, asking about are you malnourished?
Speaker 2 (58:43):
Mom and dad like you? What?
Speaker 11 (58:46):
Some parent advocates say their case is a warning for
families and the kind of overreach that Georgia's new Reasonable
Childhood Independence Law is meant to avoid. The twenty twenty
five law tailor's the definitions of neglect and to create
more freedom for parents to let their kids go out alone.
Speaker 20 (59:05):
Parents don't want to have to second guess their every
decision when they're going to take their eyes off their kids.
Speaker 19 (59:09):
We're going to let their.
Speaker 20 (59:10):
Kid walk to school, play outside, stay home alone for
a brief moment. And with this law, they know it's
up to them.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
It's the free range thing do right. You remember that
was the couple in Utah.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
They used to make their kids where a little like
laminated thing. This is I'm fine, I'm a free range kid.
I'm out here playing. I've got nothing to worry about you.
Speaker 2 (59:32):
Know, and no, can't do that.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
This is the problem in today's world when it comes
to young children allowed to get away from the teat
of the parents. Right, if you will, allowed to cut
the umbilical cord and have a little bit of freedom,
what do you think is going to happen? Honestly, do
you think that that's going to happen all the time?
(59:55):
Do you think that somebody's coming to snatch your kids?
That stranger danger thing is so oh insane.
Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
And letting them stay at home or making them stay.
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
At home because you don't want them to go outside, right,
you want them to eat snacks all day and play
in the computer. What do you think is more dangerous
somebody on the computer trying to get to them, or
them out scootering with their friends, just asking for the world.
Speaker 11 (01:00:19):
After an administrative review, with the request of the family
and the attorney, the state called Mallory and Chris to
tell them their finding of neglect was reversed, but the
pain remains and they hope the states and other families
can learn from this.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
I hope that this opens up a conversation.
Speaker 19 (01:00:38):
Maybe we should let our child be a little bit
more free you know, other parents are doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
You know, maybe we can do it too. We should,
we should, I mean, you know, look we're not telling
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
This is really interesting show on Netflix about Japanese kids
who like two and three years old, and the parents
will send them into town, right and sometimes they we
have to get on you know, in a bus or
you know, on a subway and go into town and
get food and stuff, run errands and bring it back. Okay,
(01:01:14):
that's probably not gonna happen here in America. That being said,
we need to allow kids to have freedom because part
of that is it's allowing them to grow. It's like
we talk about when you know, we've taken away their
their creativity and allowing them to play in the playground
where they get into fights and they get into arguments,
and they create their own games and they come up
(01:01:36):
with their own you know, rules, and they overcome obstacles.
We don't do that anymore. Everything is pre planned. And
then you have kids that are terrified to do anything
like leave the house for any reason because mom and
dad never wanted to let you leave the house. Now
some of them don't want to let you leave the house,
not because they don't want you to do because they're
terrified they're gonna get in trouble because you're out having fun.
(01:01:57):
Oh geez, every one of you probably listening to me
outside of a few.
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
Where were you when you were a kid? I remind
everybody you guys remember this.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
MTV used to have a commercial says it's ten o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Do you know where your kids are?
Speaker 10 (01:02:15):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Oh yeah, we got kids?
Speaker 5 (01:02:18):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Oh oh yeah, yeah, I forgot about that. How many
of you there were ten and eleven?
Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Would ride your bike see twenty bikes in front of
your friend's house and you knew where everybody was. You'd
roll your bike up, you hop audit wonder in somebody's house, right,
you hang out?
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Your mom would call over you, is Chad there? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Send them home whenever you want. Your parents would go
get outside. The lights they're not on?
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
Right.
Speaker 5 (01:02:46):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
Here's the other thing.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
And this is interesting because that investigation is now on
their record and it's not going anywhere.
Speaker 11 (01:02:55):
This is not a no harm, no foul scenario.
Speaker 5 (01:02:58):
Here.
Speaker 11 (01:02:58):
We caught up with the mother Mallory again and she
said that if anybody were to perform a background check
on her, they would find that she previously fought an
investigation alleging child abuse, an unfounded and unsubstantiated allegation at least,
but still that's a stain on a parent's record that
nobody wants, especially from a situation that at least they
(01:03:20):
believe was unwarranted.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
I think we can all say it was unwarranted. I
think we can all say, you know what, that was unwarranted.
That was not a good thing, that was an overreach,
that was ridiculous. It is a weird world where we
have a over reliance on bizarre rules of safety to
(01:03:44):
the point where they terrify and they're meant to terrify people.
I don't know, it's just very bizarre. I couldn't even
imagine that. How many of you listening right now are
in a situation where where you've had to leave your
kids for more than ten minutes. I mean, when I
(01:04:04):
was that age, I had kids, you know, well, I
was as you know, there was like you may have
been nine and.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Your babysitter was twelve. Oh jeez, I couldn't even imagine
that they knew what nine one one was. They who'd
all the neighbors were, They knew how to get a
hold of you, what restaurant or whatever you're going to
be at all of those things and nowadays like you're
outside by yourself in the front yard three two, three, five,
(01:04:35):
three eight, twenty four twenty three at Chad Benson Show
is your ex Tansta YouTube and everything.
Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
We love it when you guys go to the YouTube
and like and subscribe. It helps us out right here
on the Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
We also love when you text the program got a
text from the four uh twenty thirteen says, I always
think literally eight to ten million for thirty seconds, and
this is the best you could come up with. There
was some commercials. Again, as we talked about some of
the commercials, I just I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
They were just they were what they were. Some of
them were okay, although some of them made me laugh
a little bit. But there wasn't those one or two
commercials where I think people are gonna be talking around the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
The water cooler.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Let me even say that anymore. But did you see
that this is something memorable that's going to continue to
go forward?
Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
That kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
Although I thought the the Elijah would commercial where he
was some sort of half unicorn candy delivering.
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
Thing for.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Skittles be the rainbow. I thought that was kind of funny,
but for the most part it was, Eh, Yeah, that's
a lot of money to spend, but it's about as
much of that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
It's about the eyeballs as there is anything else. The eyeballs,
the eyeballs, people, the eyeballs.
Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
What'd you get? How many people? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
You had the one where you know, you had Robert
Kraft paying for the anti semitism commercial.
Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
You had that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
You also had on the other side of it, the
the Epstein stuff, and I thought that was powerful. That
was pre right before the Super Bowl. But for the
most part it was a very n and again for
ten million bucks. Remember ten million bucks is.
Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
What you paid four.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
The ad to be run. It wasn't for.
Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
The commercial and the cost of that, which could have
run you five to ten million right there, so twenty
million potentially.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Were you happy with it? Is there anything? Were you
waking up today?
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
Goo?
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
That was memorable? That was memorable? Let me know what
you think. Which one was your favorite?
Speaker 5 (01:06:48):
Three?
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):

Speaker 9 (01:08:15):
Welcome to chest No, not the country, the institution, the
Chat Benson Show.
Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
As we talk about the Erner fail and the insanity
of the halftime show, my god, which it's this to
me is peak just absolute insanity.
Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
Is the fighting over the halftime and who's more patriotic
and all that kind of stuff. I like to remind
everybody that it was about music. It was about music.
And guess what today's urban word?
Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
Because you know how we like to do.
Speaker 21 (01:08:46):
Now it's time for the urban word of the day.
The young have a vocabulary all their own, and we
break it down for you. It's called the urban word
of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
Well, today's urban word is perfect because yesterday with the
mu in the con oh, my god, Chad, the constant wokeness,
the constant patriotism today is the perfect word for your
urban word of the day. Polyjamorous? What poll jamorous?
Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
The ability to love multiple songs equally and multiple artists equally,
even if they're not quite you know, the same genre. Oh,
I'll see what we're doing there. Now you can love
kid rock and get into a little bit of the
bad bunny. Ooh you know what that makes you? What
(01:09:38):
polyjamorous boom? That was the urban word of the day.
Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
Now, you know, always good to know, my friends, always
good to know. Just it is insane, right, I think
we understand that. We'll get into a little bit more
coming up a little bit.
Speaker 7 (01:09:55):
Meanwhile, Friday, another communication came into a local television stone
here in Tucson, and that's the one that Savannah Guthrie referenced.
Were told when she said, we received your message. The
FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department said they were
analyzing the message, but they did not say whether they
believe it's authentic or credible. But they're taking seriously the
(01:10:19):
possibility that Nancy Guthrie is being held for ransom, and
in Savannah Guthrie's carefully worded an emotional Instagram post, the
family want to communicate that they're taking seriously the idea
they will do what it takes to get their mother back.
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Just a weird situation.
Speaker 3 (01:10:34):
Do whatever it takes, by the way, including paying potentially
ransom via bitcoin.
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Millions of dollars still think is so bizarre.
Speaker 7 (01:10:46):
The tone did seem to shift to one of almost
desperation after they had been conciliatory, careful not to antagonize
any possible captor, and to show that they are serious
and they will do whatever it takes, including pay money
to get their mother back.
Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
Whatever it takes, including pay that money to get her back.
That right there is very interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
So Savannah Guthrie makes about what eight or so million
plus a year just from what goes on on the
Today Show and with NBC, and she may have some
other stuff. They put her net worth in and around
forty million dollars apparently six million in bitcoin is what
they want. You better hurry before it's free. Wain't pit
coins going? So what I mean, it's just okay, get
(01:11:37):
over it. So her brother has a net worth of
about a couple million. Maybe she's retired, it's in the military,
does well for himself, has done some other stuff. But
I mean, obviously this would all, for the most part
come from what she has. And the questions remain, is
(01:11:57):
there actually somebody holding her hostage or people playing games?
That remains to be fully seened. But they said they'll
pay it and we'll see if that happens three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Shows,
your ext your instident at the TikTok as well YouTube
if you have a chance, like and subscribe there helps
us out right here in The Chad Benson Show. Coming up,
(01:12:21):
hour number three of the program, the how did We
get here? Moment yesterday in our bizarre political divide over
a halftime show, also talk about the big win from
the one and only Super Bowl champions super Bowl sixty
Seattle Man. That was an absolute it's whooping they put
on the patriots there. We'll talk a little bit about
(01:12:42):
the coming mid terms midterm Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Every Monday we do it here.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
We talked to our buddy Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute of
Public Policy Research.
Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
We talk about the mid terms, what is coming, When
are the primaries? We canna talk a lot about that today.
A bunch of other good stuff on the way as well.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
You have a chance check out all of our social
media our number three the programs Shooting had Chat Benson Shop.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
First of all, before we get into the chaos of
the halftime shows. Can we just give a hand to
the Seahawks and what they did Wednesday? The big parade
and good stuffs could be going on. Okay, but can
we just give a hand to the Seahawks?
Speaker 5 (01:13:51):
Can we do it?
Speaker 16 (01:13:52):
What do they do?
Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Defense wins championships and guess what they won that championship.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Battle of them all.
Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
In the NFL huss Seahawks Super Bowl champions for the
second time.
Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
He deserved that bath. Learn an incredible job.
Speaker 11 (01:14:11):
He's done.
Speaker 5 (01:14:13):
Shot, take it all in.
Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Deserve that bath. Got it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
Mike McDonald right there, thirty eight years young. What a
cool story about him. So he graduates college from Georgia
University of Georgia, gets a degree in finance and earned
a master's in sports management. So early coaching times. He's
(01:14:37):
coaching linebackers and running backs coach at Cedars Shoals High
School two thousand and eight, two thousand and nine, followed
by four years on the staff at the University of
Georgia as a graduate assistant and quality control.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
That'll make a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
So you got this guy rights twenty thirteen. He doesn't
know what he's gonna do because he's leaving Georgia. He
was probably making thirty grand a year, maybe getting some
school paid for him. Then the break comes for him.
The break comes for him and he gets an internship
(01:15:14):
with the Baltimore Ravens and that changed everything, and away
he went from there. Then again, this is an internship,
but the Ravens probably made a few bones.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
And he started to take off. So he turned down
a contract he'd signed with k MPG to be an
accountant because he thought, oh my god, that's the worst
thing ever.
Speaker 5 (01:15:44):
I can't do that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
But he takes that opportunity with Baltimore and runs with it,
works his way up, finally ends up in Seattle. Head
coach opportunity. Second year not bad, winning yourself super Bowl.
Speaker 11 (01:16:00):
That's your second year as a head coach. You're calling
the defensive plays.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
And the dark side showed up in a big way
for you.
Speaker 10 (01:16:08):
How would you describe what they were able to execute
on the defensive side of the ball tonight.
Speaker 11 (01:16:13):
They just made it decision, they're going to play a
certain way.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
They lived up to the dark side today. It's gonna
go down in.
Speaker 5 (01:16:19):
The history books.
Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
We love our players. Look, they made it happen.
Speaker 11 (01:16:24):
They made it come to life.
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
And we won the game. Hey, I know you don't
like to talk about yourself that much, but just describe.
Speaker 11 (01:16:35):
For a guy who almost walked away.
Speaker 15 (01:16:36):
From coaching, was gonna be in corporate America in the
second season, you now have a Lombardi Trophy in your hand.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
What does this want to mean?
Speaker 11 (01:16:44):
I believe God called me to be a coach, and
I listened to him, and I think, and we are.
Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Incredibly blessed to be Seahawks, to be twelve and now
we're world champions.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Congratulations Pas, Absolutely, it's phenomenal, phenomenal, and Seattle's got to
be just beyond stoked again Wednesday, they're gonna the VIC Parade.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
They got everything.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
They've got a young team with a great defense, chance
probably to come back, do it okay next year, right.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Because everybody's gunning for you.
Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
The beauty of it is your team is young, and
because they're young, you don't own fact contracts, yet you
control a lot of their rights. That matters because so
much of what you see in the nightmare that is
the NFL, as people get themselves in cap situations that
are ugly and lo and behold, what do you have?
You got a guy that's making sixty million or seventy
(01:17:42):
million dollars a couple of next year, and the rest
of your team's making a nickel and nobody can protect them.
Patriots will be good again next year. They just they
ran into a defense. That was just a my cheen, phenomenal,
phenomenal fun game, but a game that I said, I
told you, guys, what was gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
You should have listen. You should have listened.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
Meanwhile, you had the halftime now dreaded halftime shows. It's
a great opinion piece today by Colby Hall. It's in Mediaite,
and it says it was just a halftime show. The
meltown reveals how dumb we've become. I've been saying that
this is ridiculous. This is ridiculous. Thirty two to twenty
(01:18:24):
one text me says, I don't get it. What was
the big fuss about bad Bunny. It was actually a
pretty decent halftime show. I never actually heard or knew
who this guy was until recently. I'm not in the
music of today, and at least not anything after two
thousand and five. My youngest daughter liked Korean pop music stuff. Again,
that's not my thing. But it isn't bad. I have
to work, but I'm listening to the game on Sirius
(01:18:46):
and our break was able to catch a little bit
of the first half and the halftime show.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
That was the perfect example of well, I think what
a lot of people thought, like, what was the big
fuss about? Again, Well he was you know, he was evil,
and he was he was gonna wear a dress and
he was gonna do all that. He didn't do any
of those things. He came out and he delivered his thing,
his show.
Speaker 5 (01:19:08):
Who he was?
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
Now the left is gonna tell you it's the greatest
thing ever bringing people together.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
He's the new civil rights leader of the future. Settle down,
all right.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
He's at egatone superstars arguably one of the biggest stars
on the planet. You could probably say it this moment
of time. He is the biggest star on the planet.
It's him and Taylor Swift. Go look at the numbers.
The streaming numbers are through the roof, not millions, but billions.
Speaker 5 (01:19:36):
Is that true? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
Last year nineteen point eight billion streams, total streams one
hundred and fourteen point six billion, ninety two million streams
a day. Holy jeez, yeah, approximately ninety one million monthly listeners.
(01:19:57):
That's just on the Spotify kids want you to soak
that up for a second. But Chad is music is what.
He didn't wear a dress and do any of those things.
By the way, artists do crazy things. I can go
online and find you one hundred artists that you like
from classic rock that pushed envelopes bowie.
Speaker 5 (01:20:19):
Uh oh.
Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
Let's not forget Queen who I absolutely freaking a door.
Will all turn a blind eye towards Queen right or
some of these other But he doesn't like America. He's
not American. He is an American, and he showed a
bit of what America is and the difference, and it was.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Interesting, it was fun, it was great. I watched a
bit of the other halftime show, the Alternative Show.
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
First of all, it didn't go off without a little
bit of our front to begin because apparently they couldn't
get the rights to something, so they couldn't have it
on Twitter, so it was only on.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
TBN and YouTube.
Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
And the tea thing was bizarre because Kid Rock came
out and he lip syncd a portion of a song
you know, Bomb and a Bomb, and he was a
total lip sync, And I was like, is it is that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
It was okay? I heard somebody. I thought, somebody put
this perfect the other yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
Afterwards, he goes, it wasn't bad enough to be hilarious
and it wasn't great enough to be remembered.
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
I'm like, there's a perfect example. So, but how did
we get here?
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
How did we get to a point where we're arguing
over a halftime show over somebody who is living their
experience of being a Puerto Rican, being an American, having
the opportunities that he has and taking them and yes,
speaking out because he sees some unjustice in the world.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
I have no problem with that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
But he hates eyes, does he hate ice, or does
he hate what is happening in this country? But it
was a halftime show. That was it a halftime show?
And he didn't say anything crazy. He said, God bless America, right,
he talked about all of the Americas.
Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
Because it's still a business. And the business for the.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
NFL was do a big show, bring in more people
from around the globe, especially Latin speakers who would like
to see you because our show, the NFL is trying
to grow, Our business is trying to grow, and that's.
Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
What I think he did. Was it perfect? I thought
it was a good show.
Speaker 5 (01:22:37):
It was fun.
Speaker 2 (01:22:38):
My wife liked it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
She goes, I like the music, like the dancing, right,
you know, little riggaeton, little Latin trap as they call it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
But she goes, I don't understand. You had in the
middle of it. Lady Gaga came out, she performed, She
was great. You had a wedding that was a real wedding.
Speaker 5 (01:22:56):
I guess well. I was like, well damn.
Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
And then you had.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Some of the people that he stopped by and saw,
including the little taco thing to begin that right there,
that is actually somebody goes to taco stand in Los Angeles. Right,
there's a blondhaired lady that runs a like a Latin
America social club in New York.
Speaker 20 (01:23:20):
So it was, it was.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
It was what it was supposed to be.
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
But we got here because we can't do anything anymore
except fight with each other, because we live in a
world of insanity.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Trump comes out, it's the worst thing ever seen. It's
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
You know, the usual crap.
Speaker 3 (01:23:38):
Right, the left is going to say that look crappy
and stupid over there with a bunch of redneck white
nut jobs, which is not true. And I think they
did a pretty damn good job all things considered. I mean,
at time, I told my wife it kind of reminds
me of a you know, of a worship concert at
a megachurch, just kind of what it was.
Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
But it was fine. It was And I'm probably gonna
tell you guys this. I would be surprised if Bad
Bunny and.
Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
Kid Rock probably know each other, wouldn't be hilarious is
that they actually did some of the future together. Oh
my lord, what would the right and left? How did
we get here? We got here because we've allowed everything
to become politics. We've allowed everything from sports to to
music to all of these things to the point where
it is ridiculous. Ridiculous or athletes around the globe or
(01:24:36):
ask political questions. It's just an absolute crap show. And
I think a lot of people are getting over it.
We cannot let the extremes dominate. We probably all agree
in about eight and ten things outside of the extremes.
So let's get over ourselves. Let's go that was nice
(01:24:57):
and we move on.
Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
The world's cups coming.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
That's gonna bring us all together. Three two, three, five,

I feel like a new person. I went for it.
Speaker 5 (01:25:36):
That can be you.
Speaker 3 (01:25:38):
Look, you do not have to accept pain as your
new normal, especially for a lot of people out there,
blue collar workers and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
You guys know who you are. You work around your injuries.
It's just part of life.
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):

Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
Yes, they have some other stuff, you know, politics wise,
but let's be real.
Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
Yesterday was all about the Super Bowl. Do we watched
some of the Olympics. Obviously Lindsay Vonn, everybody's focusing on it.
She's skating, you know. A week ago she tore her
acl said she was still going to compete, and was
out there her first day or two. She was out
there doing the runs. She seemed fine. Then, of course yesterday.
Speaker 8 (01:29:43):
Lindsay Vaughn comes through.
Speaker 9 (01:29:44):
She's coming into the turn and as she approaches the gate,
she clips the gate with her arm or.
Speaker 8 (01:29:50):
Her shoulder and as soon as she does that, we know.
The photographer I that this is bad.
Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
Yeah, bad, it was clip. The gate went down.
Speaker 3 (01:29:58):
They had to get her off the mountain via helicopter
leg break.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
She's done.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
She's not going to be back. And I have a
feeling this was the last Olympics that she was going
to be at. I mean, you never say never, but
forty one, she's already achieved everything. She came back out
of retirement to show everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
She still could compete. Forty one is one thing, forty
five's another.
Speaker 10 (01:30:21):
Lindsay has accomplished so much, and I think, you know,
we'll always you know, live in a different eschelon than
I do. But I think that to you know, to
have your name alongside her is really something special.
Speaker 3 (01:30:34):
That's Breezy right there, Breezy Johnson. Breezy, she got our
first gold in this Olympics. I love their names.
Speaker 5 (01:30:43):
Breezy.
Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Remember Peekaboo Street. Your parents let her pick her own
name in at five, She's like, I want to be
called Pinkaboo.
Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
She was also a downhill skier. All right, coming up,
good buddy. Jim Kennedy Kennedy Institute Public Policy Research. Every Monday,
we're doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
All the way to the midterms. Mid Term Mondays. We
do it straight ahead Chad Benson Show, The Chad.
Speaker 1 (01:31:01):
Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.
Speaker 13 (01:31:25):
Now it's time for midterm Mondays, where we break down
the biggest races from the midterms. Who will control the House,
who will control the Senate. We discussed with Jim Kennedy
Midterm Mondays.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
It is Mondays on The Chad Benson Show. So what
does that bring you midterm?
Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
Mondays, we break down the midterms going forward, all the races,
everything good, Buddy, Jim Kennedy, Kennedy instead of public policy
research joins the program and Jim first and foremost. We've
had a couple more retirements since we've last talked. What's
that all about?
Speaker 14 (01:31:57):
Yeah, a couple more people bailing the ship. Buck couple Republicans.
Very louder Milk and the Georgia eleventh announced on the
fourth that he is out. He is going to retire,
and so did Mark Modai, the Nevada second announced on
February sixth that he will be retiring and not running
for reelection. So that brings us up to about fifty
(01:32:18):
retirements in the House so far. The numbers are predicted
to get to sixty by the time we start getting
into the primary season. Twenty two Democrats right now and
twenty eight Republicans are stepping down numbers kind of to
me that to me, that number strikes me as kind
of balanced. We're kind of thinking there might be more,
it could be more weighted towards Republicans and maybe when
(01:32:39):
you know, maybe as we get farther into the year,
we'll find more Republicans stepping aside than Democrats based on
the you know, on the possibility of what may happen
in the House, and they.
Speaker 5 (01:32:48):
May decide they don't want to be in the minority.
Speaker 14 (01:32:50):
They may not want to give up their chairmanship for
anybody that's got a you know that's got a chairmanship
up there. So we'll off to see. But but yeah, no,
we got two more. So, like I said, we're up
to uh rup to sixty. No changes in the Senate.
Nobody has moved on there. We do have an endorsement.
Clay Fuller has been endorsed by President Trump and he
is running for he'll be running earlier because he's he's
(01:33:13):
running for the Georgia fourteenth, which is MTG Marjory Taylor
Green seat that she resigned on January six.
Speaker 2 (01:33:20):
Because he's a trader, he's a trainer.
Speaker 15 (01:33:24):
And Chad, we were looking at his website, what was
your what was your comment on? Oh, he's extra white?
He did do it is extra white.
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
They pulled him out of uh they went straight to
somebody from from Central casting. We need this guy to
have the extra jaw that looks very jaw like and
just the perfect family and we need to put him
in a place where they have got the leaves falling
and they look, it's just extra Hilary hilarious. Yeah it is.
Speaker 14 (01:33:51):
And he's got the perfect background DA Law and Order,
Army or Air National Guard.
Speaker 8 (01:33:57):
Jay.
Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
Yeah, so he's got all the credentials.
Speaker 14 (01:33:59):
You know, he's you know, he's gonna be the perfect
candidate I think, to run in to run in Northern Georgia.
I mean, that's the kind of people you elect out
of Northern Georgia. But yeah, he was definitely out of
central casting when it comes to the candidates.
Speaker 5 (01:34:13):
I mean, you know, we'll see what happens as far
as Georgia. Let's see.
Speaker 14 (01:34:17):
Now, I don't know if I think they're gonna run
that primary earlier because they want to fill that seat
up and the Georgia let me see, get me down
to my list, George is not.
Speaker 5 (01:34:26):
Running their primaries until oh boy, that's uh, let me
see when is joorjah real? Quickly?
Speaker 14 (01:34:35):
May nineteenth will be the Georgia primary, So that might
be the one. Then they're not gonna be that far out.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Talking to Jim talking to Jim Kennedy, Kennedy instat of
Pulic Policy Research, let's get down to the primaries, because
you're explain it to me.
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
They're all over the place, starting very soon and ending
very late.
Speaker 14 (01:34:50):
Yes they are, and it's very odd. I actually checked
a couple of sourcing one Wait a minute, does that list?
That list just doesn't look right, because basically, we're gonna
spend the next six months in primary land three weeks
from tomorrow. In fact, we start the primaries on March
third in Arkansas, Bill Clinton's home state Illinois, North Carolina
and Texas. And Texas is going to be extra interesting
(01:35:13):
because that Senate seat is going to be really juicy
for six months. And that runoff and then that primary
on the Democrat side between Tulurcio and Jasmine Crockett has
definitely got some national coverage and some national interest in it.
Speaker 5 (01:35:28):
I think he will beat her in that one. I don't.
Speaker 14 (01:35:32):
We'll get some numbers on that one next week, but
I don't think. I think he seems like a better
candidate than she says.
Speaker 5 (01:35:37):
I'm sorry, I just do not. I have a hard
time taking her seriously.
Speaker 14 (01:35:41):
I'm just I'm sorry, but I just don't take I
just don't take her seriously. Some of the crazy stuff
that she says. Now, maybe that's great to rile voters
up and to make her think that they're big. People
think that she can win that seat in a you know,
traditionally red red red Texas. But I just think that
tulus it would probably be the better candidate for the Democrats.
(01:36:02):
Not that I personally want to help the Democrats, but
you know, I would say, Chad, what's your take on
Texas in that Senate primary?
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
You know, so tell Rico is an interesting cat. You know,
he's on with Rogue and he's and that kind of
he had. He had a nice following, but then it
really blew up because people were looking at him and say, Rogan,
he did this guy on.
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
He gets the guy on. And I've watched him and
he is very interesting and he's the kind of guy
that can get some disgruntled Republicans, no doubt, can get
a lot of independence, no doubt, and I think can
easily get a ton of Democrats. I look at her,
so Jas mccrockett. There are times when I watch her
when it is non like podcasty things, and she can
(01:36:40):
she's I think I think people are surprised. She is
way more in touch with the average.
Speaker 3 (01:36:46):
Political situation rather than just the the what we see
a lot of her, which is she likes to make noise,
she likes to troll, she likes to say stuff that's big,
she likes the pelebrity side of stuff. But then there
are other times I look at her and she'll sit
down and have actual, real good conversations that you know,
because we expect her now to say crazy stuff, and
(01:37:07):
and that is it's it's frustrating because unfortunately, as you know,
in the world of politics now, everything's performative. But Talla Rico,
I think if he gets by and and and beats
her and then he faces Paxton, which is going to
be if he wins, I think they've got a good
shot of flipping that seat and turning it blue.
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
In Texas.
Speaker 5 (01:37:31):
Yeah, that'll be interesting.
Speaker 14 (01:37:32):
I said, Well, we'll know that primary and they're going
to have a long general election campaign on that in
that state.
Speaker 5 (01:37:39):
That's going to be going on for well over six months.
Speaker 14 (01:37:41):
Almost closer to seven months by the time, because the
primary will be started out within a few days, So
it'll be interesting. Moving on down the list, Mississippi is
going to be a March tenth, and then we got
two months off until May fifth, and you get some
midwestern Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, West Virginia, Labama, Georgia, so probably
(01:38:01):
that the MTGC probably May nineteenth along with Kentucky be
interesting you to see who'snna fill Mitch McConnell's seed, who's
going to be the candidates there. And you'll also get
Pennsylvania on May nineteenth. California June second with Iowa, Montana,
New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota. So that's going
(01:38:23):
to be a big day for primaries. June is just
gobsmacked with primaries. June ninth, he got four more states,
including Nevada June sixteenth to Oklahoma and South Carolina.
Speaker 5 (01:38:36):
South Carolina's primaries are on the.
Speaker 14 (01:38:38):
Ninth, but if they don't get enough votes to get
to that fifty percent margin, they'll be a runoff the
following week. So wow, that's a pretty short turnaround for
a runoff coming up New York twenty third.
Speaker 5 (01:38:48):
Then we get July off, and.
Speaker 14 (01:38:50):
We go to August and you get Arizona, Kansas, Washington, Michigan,
Texas and Hawaii coming up a few days after that,
and then in August towards the end of August, you
get Alaska, Wyoming, September one, Massachusetts, and finally the last primary.
As Chad was saying, we're talking a long time, September
(01:39:11):
fifteenth in Delaware will be the final primary. So yeah,
that covers a primary. So that's really gonna be weird because,
like we talk about the Texas seat, there are going
to be flogging each other for seven solid months, and
the people in Delaware are barely going to have sixty
days until the general election from the time they figure
out who's going to be running in the House seat
and the seats there. So that's very interesting because that
(01:39:34):
means that Texas is going to take an incredible amount
of money if they're really going to go after each
other for seven solid months. And guy like Packs and
I think probably would if he does win the primary.
I think he's gonna he would be the kind of
guy that would go at it for seven months. So, boy,
if you're in Texas, you're going to be prepared to
see a lot of campaign commercials coming on your television set.
Speaker 5 (01:39:55):
Between between now and the start of November.
Speaker 14 (01:39:59):
So I remember, it's funny because you know, living in California,
you know we don't have very many races here that.
Speaker 5 (01:40:07):
Are close.
Speaker 14 (01:40:07):
Unfortunately, they tend to be Democrats. And it was interesting
because my mom lived in Nevada. I'd go up to
go up to Nevada, like in October, and boy, every
other ad on TV was a was a political ad
for campaign. Vote for me for House, vote for me
for Centate, vote for me for governor, and with both
sides just going crazy. And it's kind of thing that
I've missed in California, but to be interesting. By the way, California,
(01:40:29):
June second will also be the California the California primary
for the governor's race, which will be a good race
as as good old Gavin Newsom has served his two
terms and we'll be departing us and possibly becoming the
problem for America as he decided really he'll run for
president in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (01:40:46):
Talking to Jim Kennedy Kennedy instead of public policy research.
All right, Jim, so I've seen, you know, everybody's got
their armchair puntry going now, but there's some you know,
I was watching with Halpern the other night. He had
I forgot who we had on talking about the what
he thinks a big Republican poll person and strategists. You said, Mark,
(01:41:07):
I'll be honest with you, I think the Republicans on
the good end lose fifteen to twenty seats if things
go sideways. I could see him losing up to forty
and I thought, whoa, Yeah, that's huge. But for me,
I feel like there's a good chance. I think the
Republicans are gonna lose the House. It isn't, you know,
unless something crazy happens. But the reality is is I
(01:41:29):
think a lot of people feel that way.
Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
And you said what Cook said, there's forty seats realistically
that are up for grabs.
Speaker 5 (01:41:35):
Yeah, there's forty contestant seats.
Speaker 14 (01:41:37):
Everything else is pretty much two red or two blow
to really move, which means you're you're gonna have to
have a serious way of election if you're gonna move
those all forty of those seats in one direction. Now,
the major betting are the major betting sites, the wagering
sites have moved slightly about what point towards a Democrat
over the last week.
Speaker 5 (01:41:57):
That's not a lot concidering how far out we are.
Speaker 14 (01:41:59):
But yeah, I also one thing that Helping brought up
last week was there are some the Democrats or the
Republicans have been showing some internal polling numbers that shall
we say, do not make them happy and kind of
tend to turn their stomachs over. That is, you know,
that is leaning towards not going to be a very
good November mid term. The numbers could get ugly, could
(01:42:23):
get in some of those you know, get some of
those high numbers and not make it ten or twelve.
It could be like you were talking about twenty five
thirty maybe on a you know, a in a real
landslide of forty type number out there.
Speaker 5 (01:42:36):
So, yeah, there are some polling numbers.
Speaker 14 (01:42:38):
Again, we've got ten months, we got eight nine months
of the election, so there's a long long time ago.
A lot of things can happen. Economy goes south, the
economy can go north, Aliens could land. I mean, we've
got a lot of things going on between now and
then that you know can change it. But yet, an
interesting statu member last week about you know that's still
stuck in my head that just about everybody on January
first has decided what they're going to do, and come November,
(01:43:00):
those numbers don't change very often. So if that's the case,
it's not going to be a good year for the Republicans.
It's gonna be a good year for the Democrats, which means,
you know, I mean the larger issue with that is
that means that the Democrats in the House, if they
do take the House, they're going to spend all of
their time doing one thing trying to impeach Donald Trump,
and he will be a complete and utter lame duck
(01:43:22):
from the third of January twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (01:43:26):
You know, Jim, it's funny because there is conventional wisdom
that I've seen the likes of, you know, Schumer and
a few others say, hey, there's no reason to convince
there's no reason to go after he's a lame duck,
you know, the reason to turn him into a martyr.
Just try to get your stuff past, get his shot down,
(01:43:46):
vice versa.
Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
Try to do your job and let everything else fall
where it may.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
But don't don't let him become an extra martyr for
you know, for everybody out there in the Republican side
of stuff. Don't let him become this this this face
again of martyrdom if we go after him. Instead, surprise
everybody and don't go after him, Just block the stuff
you don't like and you know, move forward.
Speaker 5 (01:44:12):
To me, that's a wise decision.
Speaker 14 (01:44:14):
The problem is Schumer is not the most popular Democrat
and there's a lot of people that want to hide
as minority leader right now. So what the number of
people that are willing to listen to him? And it's
going to also depend upon the makeup of the House
who wins these elections. Are we talking about a lot
of progressive a lot of far left wingers that are
winning these elections for the Democrats if there is a
(01:44:36):
you know, solid Democrat majority, and how far left they're
going to want to push because to me, the ones
that want to push farther left the are be the
ones going to be more inclined to get rid of
Trump than the moderate ones. They are going to want
to come there to get something done. And remember, like
you said, a lot of people, you know, to me,
it seems like people that are coming into the House
more and more are there for performance. Are there to
(01:44:58):
build a brand, are there to get on television? Are
there to get those MSNB or sorry, ms now and
CNN segments and those hits that they want to come
to them because they'll say crazy things and they'll get
news coverage. So stuff like that is not does to me,
does not tend to believe that it would be a
sane group of people or a conscientious group of people
(01:45:20):
that just want to do something that for the betterment
of America. But they want their time, and they want
their you know, they want their pelebrity ranking, and they
want their notice.
Speaker 5 (01:45:28):
And as a freshman in the House of Representatives.
Speaker 2 (01:45:31):
Right on, Jim Kennedy, Kennedy.
Speaker 3 (01:45:32):
Instead of public policy research, we do midterm Monday, everybody,
we break down the midterms.
