in any way to a statement that's related to federal
law enforcement. Again, the Justice Department was in no way,

they're interesting. So it's Calci, It's polymarket you guys hear
us talk about it all the time. And you can.
You probably can't even escape it. If you're on your
Instagram or your TikTok or into your feeds where you'll
see people go. You can bet on the weather. Yeah,
you can bet on now anything. And a Google employee

was arrested. He placed a bet that David the Singer
would be the most searched person last year, and David
was arrested for murder. The odds of that originally were

(37:41):
virtually nil, but after what took place, this guy in
theory had access to stuff. It's insider trading, and they
popped him. Made a million bucks on it. And this
is not the first time that we've heard this stuff.

(38:02):
States are trying to ban it. So you shouldn't betting
on things like war and all this stuff. But that's
not going anywhere anytime soon. And if Trump and his
administration have any saying it, it's not going to go
anywhere at all.

Prediction markets have some pretty powerful partners, from sports leagues
to news organizations.

Two biggest platforms, Caushi and Polymarket, growing from just eight
hundred and ten million bucks bet in July twenty twenty
four to now up to almost twenty four billion according
to new data out today from q The President taking notice.

And the whole world unfortunately has become somewhat of a casino.

Speaker 16 (38:44):
But the former casino owner is clear if they're going
to exist, he'll set, in his words, the rules of
the road. He wants the CEEFTC or Commodities Futures Training
Commission to have exclusive authority over prediction markets, just like
federal agencies regulate things like the stock markets. Disagree both
Red and Blue, saying it's all more akin to sports betting.

Like Republican Governor Spencer Cox in Utah, docommended.

Companies are doing, these gambling companies that are pretending to
be something else, making billions off of trying to destroy

Well, first of all, let's talk about the fact that
these things are easy to play. What not only the
polymarket has done, but the betting market across the board
and even the stock market with all the apps now,
is they have gamified betting. My uncle and I talk

about this all the time. For you guys don't know,
my uncle and I best friends, we're business partners. Do
a bunch of AI stuff together, but he was one
of the first employees at Blizzard Entertainment World of Warcraft Diablo.
He helped figure out a way to not only designs
and things, looks and stuff, but it's all about gamification.

It's all about a reward. It's all about a risk
and a reward. And you're gonna hear stuff like gamification,
and that's a lot of what this is is. It's
just easy and it's not real. See, that's the other
side of it. It's not real in people's minds. It's
like when you go to the store and you you know,

you buy a coffee for nine bucks whatever coffee's cost now,
which is ridiculous. You swipe your card. You're not handing
somebody nine dollars. That's that's a transaction that feels much,
you know, more real than anything else because it's just
numbers somewhere, so you're not feeling it. There's no there's

not that much emotion in things like that. It's a
gamification thing, right, how many times can you just keep playing?

You get your lives over and over again, and it's
little by little things happen. So you've got Calshie and
Polymarket are the two biggest. Now. Calshie is fully regulated
by the CFTC. That's the Commodity these Futures Trading Commission.
So I was a commodity spoker for a long time.
So that's there. You know, that's the you know, the

SEC for the Securities Exchange Commission. You probably hear that
this is the Commodities Exchange Commission. Poly Market is been
around a while and it's off shore. It's unregulated for
US users. Now they have an arm here poly Market
US which is tied to the CFTC. But the money's big.

And here's the weird thing. You've got to be in
the know. Like we see all of these you know,
we've talked about it, the insider trading that it's gone
on for years, which is insane, and now you look
at this administration across the board and you're just like,
oh my god, it's crazy. The difference now, though, is

everybody feels like they can be in the know and
the crowd moves markets like never before. So just to
let you guys know, and again, what I mean, you
can bet on anything. How about this? Mentions? Are you
ready for this? Will Spencer Pratt say? What? Will he

(42:13):
say during Fox and Friends in his interview, will he
say fraud or event does not qualify. You're like, what
jd Vance in Denver in his remarks, will he say
the word afford affordability, affordable oil, gas, gasoline. You can

(42:35):
bet on these things. You can bet on climate, you
can bet on sports culture, by the way, culture And
you're like, what how about this? Who will have the
number one song on Spotify USA in May Ariana Grande Olivia,
Dean back Rooms movie above eighty five or above eighty eight,

(42:57):
the Rotten Tomato score. So you can see why it
pulls even people that are because you think sports sports.
It's not sports, it's not it's more. And people are saying, well,
we got to get rid of this, We got to
regulate the hell out of it, and or get rid
of At.

Speaker 16 (43:13):
Least sixteen states are tied up in some sort of
legal fight with prediction markets. The biggest battle could play
out in Minnesota, with the state Ag says the platforms
prey on young people and the poor. The states first
of its kind band is getting pushed back from the CFTC,
whose chair says it quote turns lawful operators and participants
in prediction markets into felons overnight. The platforms have long

(43:35):
said they have consumer protections in place. Former Democratic Congressman
Sean Patrick Maloney, now lobbying on behalf of the prediction
market industry, says companies and consumers want a clear set
of rules.

What they deserve are good federal regulations, strong consumer protections,
and that's what we're fighting for in Washington.

Speaker 16 (43:52):
The president's family also has deep ties to the platforms,
raising concerns over conflicts of interest. Donald Trump Junior is
a strategic advice to Calshi and invested in poly market,
saying they help democratize information.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
I think the prediction markets are very important.

It was a needed fix to a broken system.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
And he's right in some ways. It's also weird, though,
that you have somebody who not only he's an advisor
to one and their rivals, he is an investor. It's
it is very interesting to look at the polly markets

and to see the appeal to them and also see
the pitfalls. That being said, like anything, people need to
make their own decisions. I'm a big believer, and you
get to make your own decisions, and for some people
it doesn't go well. In the betting world, and for
some people they do well.

So at least some in Congress wants to crack down
at insider trading fears, and.

We must never allow Congress to turn into a casino.

After federal charges including unlawful use of classified information for
personal gain against a Special Forces soldier who allegedly made
four hundred and nine thousand dollars on polymarket related to
the capture of Venezuela's Nicholas Maduro, the soldier has pleaded
not guilty, but some argue the prediction market system itself
is broken, leading to more inequality. It's not stopping Brandon Feene,

an elementary school teacher who says he's profited nearly two
hundred thousand dollars by betting on music. He says bets
on Drake to top the charts even helped him win
his whole year's salary in just a week and changed
his life.

It's there, but also on the other side of it,
like anything else, you can lose, you can and this
more than anything else. You see money move fast because

be the number one stream song? Will this person be
the you know, number one in Netflix this week? I mean,
it's a weird yet enjoyable thing, but there's pitfalls and

to stop this, but they also have issues because they're
involved in it. And the question of regulation is going
to be a big deal here. But as we all know,
you can regulate the hell out of something, but it
never goes away, and rather than inform people and warn,

people will try to regulate and it'll end up being
a disaster because as you and I both know, people
want to find it. They'll find it, and they'll figure
out a way, and people will make mistakes and people
will overdo it and some people will be successful, but

more people will fail. But all you can do is

was told I was going to be here. I get
the email, I get the confirmation, I look up, and
all of a sudden, I'm nowhere near where I was
supposed to be, and I'm up in the nosebleeds. And

I asked him yesterday about this and how it's going there,
and also the cost of tickets, which seems to be outrageous.
I think we can all accept the fact that some
of these things are just insane, and yes, quality of
team matters. Don't get me wrong there, but people are frustrated,
and rightly so, and that's why FIFA is going to

have to answer for some of this stuff. Here's a
portion of my conversation with Eric Pushman from KRLT about
the ticket issue that is going on. And he did
some investigation into the cost of tickets, just looking because
we're hearing, well, the prices are falling, but is that true?

Interesting thing is also just what the prices are right
now now. Of course, as you mentioned, we're just a
couple of weeks out from this whole thing starting just
over two weeks out, and of course it doesn't start
in Dallas. It's going to start in Mexico on June eleventh.

played over in La at Sofi Stadium. That's the next day,

on Friday, the twelfth. Then we have games on Saturday.
Then Sunday the fourteenth, that's when Texas really enters the picture.
