with it well. As I remind the older generation Gen
Z millennials, largest voting block, they help Trump get across

as a lack of support during difficult periods of his

the discredited theory that voters should focus on electability in

fighting fights the Republicans. And again this goes back to
I've said this. If I'm the Democrats, I have a
smile on my face today because regardless of whether or

You just ensured that they're going to have to spend
an extra twenty million, thirty million dollars on this race. Cornyn,
he would have been a safer bet. Well, is it
about winning in the midterms or is it about punishing
the people you see as your enemies, and for Trump,

got a chance. I think it's going to be much
closer than it would have been with Corner. I think
Cordon had a better chance. Remember we've talked about this
over and over again. Electability matters when it comes to
the general. Hardcore MAGA in a primary or a runoff
is a big deal if you're trying to only win

the quality of candidate matters, especially when you're going into
a situation where now everybody's going to have a chance

the cost to grow thing, the cost to produce things
because there is a lack of out there, and so
people are bidding and or spending more to procure those

say six weeks, and that is going to be a
situation where while we're frustrated at things now and we
look around and we're pissed off because what's going on

then people are going to start to have their voices
heard in a much louder way, which makes it harder

look at the age right, because you got to break
this down across the board. The competitive swing group thirty

fifty slight lean GOP until sixty five plus. Then it's
a hard lean to the GOP. So when I talk
about age range and things like that, and we hear

right now it is an older versus younger. It's a
frustrated group of young people who are looking around and
who are pissed and angry because the feel like the

he said that he was going to do, has turned
everything towards a victory for an older generation, and people

to a one hit, a song that dazzled us, a
band that came out of nowhere and then poof, magically gone.
And today's song is one of my favoritavorite songs. I
say that every week this one is interesting. I loved it,
then it disappeared. Then twelve years ago it was brought

back to the world's attention I think you guys are
going to enjoy this one. Sit back, relax, and let's
get to it because today is One Hit Wonder Wednesday.
Now it's time for another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday.

(01:43:30):
You may not remember the name of the band, but
you definitely know the song. This Bruiser, This is one
Hit Wonder Wednesday. All right, Today's song is one of

(01:43:55):
my favorite songs. I love this song and I worked
at an older station in Los Angeles Ky Earth one
on one, and this is one of the songs would
come on and I just I would groove to it,
but it never got that love I think it deserved.
So the song came out in nineteen seventy four it

(01:44:17):
hit number five. The band's called Redbone, founded by Native
American brothers Pat and Lally Vegas. They're considered as the
first commercially successful Native American rock groups, and the word
Redbone is actually a term from Louisiana, sometimes used for

(01:44:38):
a mixed race person, especially with Native American heritage. They
had a couple other songs that did they did okay overseas,
but this song stood out. And then in two thoy fourteen,
a movie came out and the beginning of the movie
of the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the opening scene,

star Lord puts in his tape hits play and dances
through an area that's semi dangerous doing his thing. And
when this song starts playing, everybody starts a grooving. Today's
one hit Wonder nineteen seventy four, number five, Redbone, Come

and Get Your Love.

You Mine sign, knocking My Man over your Head, the Bonded,
I'm on Bonded.

The baby called your Pond, your mind sne.

The song got a lot of love after that, and
rightly so. Now Redbone had another hit that did okay,
and everybody's like, well, isn't this about one hit. There's
a lot of bands out there that have had a
few hits, but nobody can tell you what they are
except for their one hit, and this is definitely one

of those bands. Here's the other thing. They weren't a
flash in the band. They were really a novelty act
at all, and in fact, they were more than that.
They were a touring band, and they continued to tour
and tour, and their influence on funk rock and yes,
Native American representation at a time in mainstream that wasn't there.

(01:46:58):
They are interesting group and you can you know, you
can hear the music they have and the groove they
have with some of their Native American influence, but their
rock as well. It's a it's a trip to listen
to them. And if you've never seen them, they've got

(01:47:19):
a very famous live version of this where they have
a Native American dancing around a costume right before they
go do the song. Itself very positive as you would think,
it's not one of these songs is no in fact.
