Speaker 2 (00:14):
Let me spell it for you.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Millian is spelled Mi double l I n Olivia minin.
She has released a wonderful new track which was so
glad to play for the first time on iHeart, and
it's called Run Little Girl.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
And this is a beautiful, beautiful track.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Ladies, please meet the one and only Olivia Millan.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Olivia, how are you today?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I'm great, How are you? Thank you so much for
having me.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's really really an honor. Thank you so much. So
first question is can you tell us where are you from?
And how did you stop music?
Speaker 4 (00:49):
Of course, so I'm from Sarah sorta, Florida, and I
started music singing just in general in my church actually
where my godmother actually.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Basically like a kind of got me up.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
To the choir one day and I sang solos and
I sang in the choir and I just found out,
you know, I really like music. And then I performed
in musical theater all my life.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
In school, plays.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
In community theater, and then I eventually started writing my
own music in high school. I really kind of locked
into the dark pop genre in high school. And then
I took a break from high school to college and
I didn't think I was going to write again, but
I started writing again after I got rejected from every
(01:41):
a capella group at my college, and that was really
a spark to kind of create my own path. So
now I'm writing again. I started with J pop and
now I'm back into English pop again.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
So yeah, well what a beautiful journey. And I love
you know how people they get rejected before and then
it turns out to be a great news, you know,
because then you were able to create your own path,
you know, from it. So that's that's really inspiring. So
who are the audiences who have inspired you the most?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Absolutely?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
So, I've definitely been most inspired by Lady Gaga because
she has a similar past and a similar inspiration uh
for creating music as me. She got bullied a lot,
and I have one of my biggest reasons that I
started writing music is for the fact that I was
(02:36):
bullied and I kind of used it as my refuge
and my coping mechanism, So that was a huge She
was a hug inspiration for me my entire life as
well as Britney spears.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
She shares a lot.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Of the same mental issues that I struggle with.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
For example, I'm bipolar.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
I struggle with bipolar disorder and she is shares that
same illness and she really rose to the occasion in
the pop world and she's kind of an icon for
you know, just in general, and she really brought that
light to everyone who struggles with it. And I feel
(03:24):
like she's just a huge inspiration for me as well.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
And indeed, indeed, you're signing really the best, so you
have good educated years.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I like to call it that way. So we're so
glad really to have you.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Today once again, I'm with Olivia Millin and she has
released a new track called Run Lead the Girl. So
can you tell us the story of that track, what
it means and how is it done?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Sure, So One Little Girl is about running away from
toxic relationships and I have written about the sort of
thing in my jpop career when I used to write
in jpop. But I figured since I'm writing in English now,
I can sort of start a new journey and I
can start it again and sort of rewrote the things
(04:12):
that we're in Japanese that for an English audience. So,
Run Little Girl is a track about running away from
an abusive or toxic relationship, whatever the relationship may be,
or however one sees as toxic as they deem fit.
So basically it starts off with the lyrics done with
(04:34):
you and all your twisted schemes. So the whole song
is about really being gas lit and manipulated and betrayed,
and it's about running away from that. And I feel
like it's also very relevant now in today's society with
everything that's going.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
On in you know, our war and everything.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
It can also be taken very literally as to literally
run away from toxicity in a way, from anything that's dangerous.
And I feel like that's a really powerful message today's
day and age.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
And indeed it's a beautiful message and a beautiful powering song.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
We really really love that.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
So before we start to say goodbye to each other,
what are your next projects?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Yeah, so I have a lot of stuff coming up.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Actually, I have multiple singles coming up that I'm being
there are being rewritten from Japanese to English, so there
are actually a lot of my old stuff that is
going to be renewed, rewritten, reproduced and kind of given
a new light to it. But I do have an
(05:46):
entirely new song called text Me Back that will be
released sometime in April. I'm about to go to the
recording studio to do it, actually, so I'm very excited
for that. And I have a whole roster of songs
that is going to be released this year, So definitely
stay tuned to my Instagram or my Spotify and uh yeah,
(06:09):
that's there's a lot of new stuff coming up, so
definitely stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Well, we would definitely stay tuned, and we will applaud
you and celebrate your wonderful, wonderful talent. We're so glad
to have you today. You still have like thirty seconds.
What would you like to share with our audience?
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yeah, sure, So I'd like to share a bit of
advice to any growing artists that are up and coming.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
And that is the fact that the music industry is a.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Hard place to really thrive in, and especially when you
get to the social media side, which can be very dejecting.
And my message to all of those growing artists is
just don't give up. It can seem very dejecting and hard,
but you know, at the end of the day, if
you want it bad, then you'll, you know, persevere, and
(06:59):
you just got to remember that everyone wants it and
that you just gotta want it more. And it's it's
a really competitive environment, but if you believe in yourself,
then you can do it.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
And thank you for believing in yourself and bringing together
this beautiful, beautiful track.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Ladies and gentlemen. My name is David Siro.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
