Speaker 1 (00:12):
Her name is Pretty Girl Rico, Pretty Girl Rico. She's
a wonderful artist who has just released an album called
Beautifully Kayoti Beautifully kaoting wonderful artists. We are of course
going to play some excerpts of.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Her wonderful album.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
We're so glad to have her today live on the phone.
Pretty Girl Rico, how are you today?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Hey, I'm doing good. How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I'm wonderful. Thank you so much for being with us.
So the first question I have for you, can you
tell us a little bit more of yourself. Where are
you from and how did you start music?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So? I'm from Tampa, Florida born and raised. I originally
started doing music just kind of like playing around with it,
something for fun, and then I fell in love with it,
with just being able to express myself in different ways,
and it just kind of went from there.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
And indeed, you did a beautiful path for yourself. Who
are the audience who have inspired you?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I guess the misfits, like the people who don't really
have a lot of friends, the loners, the ones who
get lost in their head, and you know, just the
ones who don't fit in. That's who inspired.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Me, and indeed you have these beautiful influences in your music.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So where that name is from, pretty Girl Rico.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
So my childhood nickname was actually like Rico. Growing up,
my friends would call me that and it just kind
of like went from there. It was my Instagram name
was pretty Go Rico, and then I just kind of
stuck with it because it's just something that I'm used
to and like familiar with.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
And we love that you, We definitely love that.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
So now fast forwarding to your beautiful new album called
Beautifully Chote, can you tell us what can we find
on this album?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
So, what you guys can find this album is things
that I talk about, like my own personal beliefs, stuff
that I've been through. Like one of my songs is
called best Friends. I was stabbed in the back by
my best friend, as I'm sure many other women have experienced.
So just like relatable music as well, like that they
(02:36):
can relate to.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
And indeed we can definitely connect with your music. What
is the message that you want to give.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
I just want to give a message of like you're
not alone, Like there's other people out here who go
through dark times and who go through struggles, and yeah,
that you're just not alone Like I go through it.
I'm sure you go through it. Everybody goes through there
are times.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
So you're doing really well and we love the message
that you're definitely giving.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
So can you.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Tell us before we start to say goodbye to each other,
can you tell us a little bit more about your
upcoming project.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
So right now, I'm actually in the early beginning stages,
like finding beats to my next album that I'm going
to be working on. It's like really early in those stages,
so I really don't even have a name for it yet,
but it will be along the lines of my indie
rock pop type thing and I'm really excited for it
(03:40):
to start working on it and for you guys to
hear it.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
And we will definitely be there to listen to you,
to support you, and to applaud you for all the
great things that you are doing. The one and only
pretty Girl Rico and She's Wonderful Artists, has released this
great album beautifully chiotic. What is your process of working
(04:06):
on an album?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Like, how do you do your work at home? First?
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Then you Yeah, so I like to write. My room
is pink. Pink is my favorite color. So I sit
in my room, I turn on all my lights and
I go on beat Star and I just start searching
up different genres of beats and I kind of go
off of what I feel like. If I find something like, oh,
I really like that, then I'll start writing to it
and whatever mood I'm in in that moment or what
(04:32):
comes to mind, maybe something that I went through is
what I write about.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
And you're doing absolutely wonderfully for yourself. You still have
thirty seconds for yourself. Would you like to send a
message to audience and for the people who would be
listening to your album?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, just I hope you guys enjoy it. I definitely
loved creating it for you guys, and I hope you
guys can relate to it and you know, find your
new favorite song to jam out to on your way
to work or something.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Well, we would definitely be there to applaud you once again.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
