Kathleen M. Bonczyk is an attorney licensed to practice law in Florida and New Jersey. Her practice has concentrated on the fields of labor and employment and insurance. Ms. Bonczyk earned her M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University and her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University.


Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Bonczyk was a human resources executive and consultant. She is a published author who has delivered content including for the Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Section’s Newsletter The Checkoff, BLR, NBI, Lorman, Claims Magazine, the National Underwriter, and PLRB.


Ms. Bonczyk has delivered hundreds of seminars over the years including content authorized for continuing legal education credit by the Florida Bar and SHRM. Her first CEU article focusing on the harassment of nurses was written in 1995 and was published by Nursing Spectrum Magazine – the predecessor to Nurse.com. Ms. Bonczyk was the first non-clinician to ever be published in that leading periodical. 


In 2015, Ms. Bonczyk founded The Workplace Violence Prevention Institute an interdisciplinary think tank comprised of professionals from various fields Including law enforcement, safety, risk management, business, law, human resources, medical and other fields as well as victims of workplace violence.


In 2017, The Workplace Violence Prevention Institute was organized as a Florida not-for-profit entity. The organization’s mission is research, education, and the mitigation of risk associated with the growing tragedy that is workplace violence in an era where more than 2,000,000 Americans per year are victims and nearly 46% of all active shooter situations occur in businesses.
