Okay if we get right from let'sseriously what you dropped the mic? You
gotta continue on before somebody pick itup. So I gotta give on on

(01:07):

if only our with me. I'min warton Verse, um Whittles web series

at one on the stop shame doingbamn man. I went back out on
the stage. I'll picked up themic real quick. That was effected her

(01:51):
about us even more. You're hittinghim from my wonderful guest. Wonderful guests?
What's up, y'all? Oh?No much? How are you vowings?
I'm doing well. I'm doing well. It's an honor to be here.
Exactly, have you right? Becauseyou have to introduce yourself so people
will know who you are. Ohsorry, I forgot Yeah, So it

(02:15):
is up you guys. I amTiffany aka Lady T. I am your
two time Amy nominated TV host.I'm your comedian. I am your just
all around fun. Yeah that isall I am. That is all I
love hus. I feel like youhave a lot more to you after that.

(02:38):
I do. But I was like, you said three things I said,
let me consense it bloom, letme stage is so much better than
it was all. So how didyou get started? H which part of
my life? Because well, youwant to tell us about because we here

(02:58):
for it. I mean, wantto start off with the selation scandalous part.
You can start with that and thengo back with the boring. There
was no part that was selation scandalous, So okay, like we kept in
one hundred no no, no,Um I where did I get here?
So basically I started off as anewspaper reporter and then UM, I was

(03:20):
working for the PG setting the newspaperas a freelance news freelance reporter. UM
My beat was Booie Bowie Maryland andmy beat mother beat was features um and
then from there I went to beinga full time newspaper reporter with South American
Newspapers. And while I was there, UM, I started like doing a
whole bunch of stuff on the side. I had like two podcasts I was

(03:44):
doing, uh two it was tworadio shows. I was doing one of
Chicago and then one here in theDMV area. UM. I was commenting
on Team Z like twice a month. I was going to movie like review
things, and I was doing moviereviews. I was yo, I was
on it. I was like,oh my girl, I was grinding at

(04:05):
that time. Everybody was like, you gotta be on your grind. If
you really want this life, yougotta be in grind. So I was
doing a bunch of stuff at thetime, and then I got I jumped
into TV where I was working asan assignment editor for Fox forty five and
I still am technically an assigned editoralso. But then while I was here,
I decided like I wanted to celebritynews and gossip. I love celebrity

(04:28):
news, I love entertainment news.Pitched it to the news director and creative
services director. They loved the idea. They said, let's try it.
Then it became like a once aweek thing. Now I'm on twice a
week spilling the sea with Lady Tuh. Let me let me tell you sec.
But at the beginning of our BeMore Lifestyle showing on Fox twenty five,
I came up with the name forit because they were like, what,
Lady Tea, what do you sayto your friends? Were you about

(04:50):
to tell them, like, youknow, we got to talk talk about
trending topics or something that's trending, and I said, well, I saw
what I'm saying. I hold up, girl, let me tell you okay,
And that's how we came. Buta title. I literally gave you
the title for this, So thatis that's basically how I got to where
I am today. Um, likemy journey has been like it's just been
huh, God has been good,y'all. Um, and y'all said there

(05:14):
was more to my life, andI said, you know what she's you're
You're right, I'm and this isto be a TV host, comedian.
I'm also an actress. I'm alsolike, yeah, I do so many
other things. I just I lovepeople. I love making people laugh.
That's really just been my goal outhere. Wow, that's amazing. I
do have to ask whether to saybefore we started, she made us love.
So I was like, wait,I feel like she's coming for my

(05:35):
job, y'all. I made myown job. You made it up.
I'm coming. I'm coming for it. I'm coming for it. All.
Y'all are fun dog y'all. Anyway, only my best friend one was with
me. But I do ask whata slument editor is. I really did

(05:55):
not one of our signed questions sodo you mind, No, we could
ask it. No, No,definitely so because I didn't know what it
was either when I first stopped. It's like, oh um. Basically,
an assignment editor. We assigned reporterswith the camera people and we send them
to like stories, So we'll sendthem to like breaking news, We'll send
them to what ilse breaking news, any kind of story that's happened in that

(06:18):
day. Like I'm the girl thatyou gotta get through to have have a
camera at your event. Like I'myour goal to for all that. I'm
the eyes and the ears of thenewsroom. Like we have a super important
job. You don't really hear alot about assigned editors because it's a thankless
job. But we are your goalto for all of that. Like,
yes, the reporters are on thescreen all that stuff. You see the

(06:38):
camera people out there in the field, But I gotta get you there so
I get them to those locations andwhere they need to be at. I'm
listening to police scanners, I'm doingthe social media for the station, writing
web stories. Like That's what anassignment editor is. We assigned and we
do our social media and we likedo our web stuff too. So it's
it's a it's a big job andlike not a lot of people can handle

(07:00):
it or can do it. Butwhen you get the gist of it,
I mean, you're you know, you can devetail, you can like be
flexible, you can do more thanone, two, three things at one
time. Um, that's what theassign editor is. The toughest job.
Will say, thankless job, butit's it literally is the most important job
of the station. Wow. Okay, So the waiter and me had to

(07:20):
know what that was to know thewhitern't mean it was like what was what
is that? How do I whatis that? Yeah? I know no
one I never heard so will acharacter in my next book as it?
Okay, great, This entire podcastwas set up because we needed to know
about what happens behind the camera awrite a script about what happened behind the

(07:46):
camera. We had no idea people. That is great, Yeah, that
is great. Because there was oneother lady who reached out to me.
She's she's writing a book and shesaid she wants the bait off of like
TV News in Baltimore, and shewas like, I want to add in
this assignment editor aspect. She waslike I don't really know about it.

(08:07):
So it's true a lot of peopleare putting it in their books now because
I don't think anybody thinks about thatfact. But you just think that they're
over here answering phones. No assignededitors are out there answering them phones like
hello, who's this? We takeyour news tips, We take you like,
we we get you there, likewe are like, like, who
you guys got to go through foreverything? It's amazing. If you want

(08:28):
your story told to the producers newsdirectors as their meeting and discussing stories for
the day, you tell me,I'm gonna get it to their ear.
So that's why I say it's suchan important job. And I think a
lot of people don't know that.So when I go speak in public and
I talk to people, I'm like, look, I was like, here's
how you get your stuff hurt. It's who you're gonna go through your book

(08:50):
or your assignment editor, the digitalteam, you're gonna reach out. I
make sure you guys know how toget your stories and stuff told. So,
yeah, it's such it's a goodaddition to your story. It's somebody
don't hear about a lot. It'sreally good. I think it's a good
idea. Okay, So so I'mgonna try to like keep us on task.

(09:11):
That's hilarious, right. So Iwas asking another question because you asked
I know back so many and Ijust wanted to ask more. Go ahead,
Okay. So how excited were youabout the Emmy nomination? What you
wear? Oh my gosh? Umso wait the first or second time?
All the times we want all thetime? Yes, the first one it

(09:35):
was bitter sweet because my mom wasbattling uterate cancer at the time, and
like we didn't know she was inlike her final days. Um she I
just I remember screaming. It waslike it was May eighteen, twenty twenty
one, I think it was,and like I just remember screaming, and

(09:56):
my mom like rushed out her roomand she was just like are you okay?
And my whole family was like what'sgoing on with you? And I
was like, oh my god,I got nominated. I'm like, oh
I got and I'm gonna think Iwas going to m There was so much
doubt, I think put in myhead. So I really didn't think I
was getting nominated for anything, honestly, But I was so excited, and
my mom like she just held myhand and she said, I'm so proud

(10:18):
of him. Okay, Now shedid die like a week she died two
weeks later from uterine cancer. Butshe was my biggest supporter. She was
like my biggest cheerleader. She thoughtit was hilarious. Um, she said,
you're gonna be so amazing when likeone day she really believed in me.
So like when I think of like, it's sad, but I think
of it in a good way becauseSeth was right. She was like,

(10:39):
you're gonna be nominated, You're gonnado this, You're gonna get all these
things. By the second time, was just recently made eighteenth again, and
I think I couldn't breathe this thissecond time. I couldn't breathe the first
time. I was excited. Thistime I just couldn't breathe because I was
just like what And I was like, oh, okay, wait seriously.

(11:01):
When I could come to again,I realized I was like, oh my
gosh, because I wasn't watching ifthey announced the nominations online it was a
live stream and I was not watchingit. What was I doing? I
don't even know what I was doing, but I wasn't watching it. I'm
like I would have been. Iwas like, I'm I'm tired. I

(11:22):
took my makeup off, y'all. So I think I'm selfie or nothing.
I ain't no selfie because I waslike, nah, I'm good like And
then I started getting these text messagesand my co workers and it was like,
oh my god, congrab and Iwas like, oh, what happened?
Because you're like they just go muchwhat did I do? I was
like, oh my god, whathappened? I was like yuys? And
then I was like oh wait huh. And then it made me want to

(11:46):
go on there to check and Iwas like, all right, let me
go check this out. And Iwas like really, and I couldn't breathe.
I swear y'all, I cannot breathe. My family can attest to this.
I just could not breathe because Iwas like really twice so now umsted
the emmi's last year, but Iwasn't nominated last year. I hosted them
last year. This year, I'mhosting again because they asked me too.

(12:07):
They said, you were so greatlast year, come back this year.
I'm hosting again and hosting as anominee. Also that I don't know why,
but it gives me a little bitof chill. I just got chills
just now saying that. It's I'mpretty excited. So June twenty four,
as the Narcissists, I just wantto I want to support you by being
there. I mean, I gottagive you. That was well and I

(12:33):
was I didn't even see it coming. I didn't even in the world and
I didn't see it coming. Ididn't. I agree with you. I
was like, good, listen, this is gonna be major. So June
twenty fourth, I'm hosting is alive stream UM and a live stream and
it's a it really as good asvery clear. You'll see all my shots.
I'll be on their social stage.I do like a little intro in
the beginning. It'll be it's gonnabe an amazing event because I know not

(12:56):
everybody can afford to go with liketwo seventy five, and I totally understand.
I know it's big banks, Okay, two two hundred and seventy five.
It was that a little bit betterfor you because I was like,
this year I wanted to go tothis book award, and then they sent
me the thing and it was inthe it was like twenty grand I was
like, oh no, that's awhole book. Ye, there are bills

(13:22):
to pay. I was like,I don't gotta time, but I will
go, and I'm so excited.I can't wait. They're just they're gonna
they treat me really good. Soit's gonna be a comfortable situation. So
yeah, I'm gonna make them laugh. It's a very different vibe, so
I'm gonna it's gonna be great though. I'm pretty excited about it. So
yeah, that's that's basically what I'mdoing that. So yeah, if that's
the award ceremony of you man,I was gonna say that was one that

(13:45):
I hosted last year and I'm hostagain this year. So yeah, So
all right, we're gonna have tolike combine these two questions because one at
a time. So, is thereanything left that you want to do your
career? And if so, whatand then because I'm gonna be a big
question like a womana, and whatadvice would you give people to want to

(14:09):
follow in your footsteps? Oh?Okay, well for my career, I
feel like I feel like I wantto do I want to do some next
level stuff with entertainment news reporting, like I really like I like how I
mixed the comedy with it. Ithink you guys were I like that like
part of it. The how doyou guys incorporate comedy into your stuff too?

(14:30):
Like it's something about making somebody laughthat just makes my heart. I
don't know, just I skip abeaut a little bit. I just love
it. I like seeing people smile. I don't know where that came from,
but I just my family laughs alot, So I think that's probably
why so we we we're sending inso you know, Westny people when they
get food and they're happy and they'regood, like you know, they get
excited and you know, so Ifeel like I kind of get like that

(14:52):
too. But um, what's nextfor me? I want to do some
more of with entertainment news. Ifeel like my job isn't over with celebrity
news. I feel like, oh, I want to continue my acting career
lesson shout out to m kidding ActingStudio in Maryland. I took so many
classes there. I just love thevibe there. It's like a family.

(15:13):
So I just started getting like alot more like gigs. I want to
say, like, you know, some commercials, some you know, just
standings. You know, I reallywant to take my acting career to the
next level. That's next for me. I want to win an Emmy.
I don't want to just be nominated. I want to win an Emmy.
I think that's next on my list. So and I just think, I

(15:35):
don't know. I want to dosome more red carpet hosting for like bigger
events. You know. You know, I'm also like a plus size model.
Now I'm trying to do different things. So when I tell you I'm
trying, y'all, I'm representing. And I think what my invest advice to
other people would be. Just becauseyou don't see what it is that you

(15:56):
want to do or what you werepassionate about, just because you don't see
it as a job somebody somewhere doesn'tmean that you can um create. It
doesn't mean that you can't start. It doesn't mean that it just because it
doesn't exist, that's it. Yougive up, go home. Um none
of this what I'm doing currently wasat my station, so I had to
start it, you know. Iyou have to know how to pitch yourself.

(16:19):
I wish people would just learn howto pitch themselves. Maybe I need
to do a workshop or a classor something. Yet this is really really
shape because of Zoom. Are amazing, y'all we do all the time.
Yeah, that is one of thequestions. I really wanted to ask you
what I can We're running out oftime, But can I ask when you're

(16:41):
done? No, yeah, definitelyask three. Top three things people should
know when they're pitching, like justpitching, like just for like another job
creation title, like what do youthink? So I think when you're pitching
something, you have to think aboutyour branding. Um, think about or
it's all about the branding. Now. If you don't like a name that

(17:03):
you come up with for a segmentfor your podcast, for your anything it
is that you're doing, if youdon't like the name of it, no
one else is gonna buy into it. You have to you have to be
really confident in what it is thatyou're pitching. So you have to come
up with some ideas. You haveto take some time, sit down,
drop some ideas down. Anytime somethingcomes to you, write it down immediately.
You never know when you're gonna circleback to it. Put it in

(17:25):
your notes on your phone, writeit down, don't like stare away from
it. You have to like,it's really all about what you believe in
it, and you know in yourmind, you know, in your mind
you have an idea, and alot of people are like, oh no,
that's dumb. Come up with somebodyelse, come up with something new
for me, And I feel likethere's a lot of doubt with that.
Sometimes you don't have to do that. You know exactly what is you want
spelling to see with Lady Tea wasI think one of three ideas I had,

(17:49):
and I was like, can wejust let me come up a different
name for it? My fair ladyte all my social media handles who are
like, h I don't like theway it's catch but I don't like the
way that sounds. Okay, butlisten now they say it on radio,
like they say on TV. Listen, it's all about whatever your brand is,
whatever you love, whatever you're passionateabout. I think that's what you

(18:11):
need to focus on. So whenyou're pitching yourself, you better believe in
that brand, believe in what everything. Make every single thing so free,
this is for free, Make everyall your social media handles, make it
all the same. Stop making itdifferent, because no one's gonna remember all
four different handles. Make it allthe same or generally the same. Okay,
make sure everything is cohesive. Believein your brand. I'm telling you,

(18:33):
when you're pitching yourself, you gottaspice it up. You gotta talk
it up. They're gonna want toknow how are you gonna get access to
the things that you're pitching, whatare the sources? Where are you gonna
get it from? And you haveto tell them this. Be ready for
any question that you get asked.Yeah, I want to add to that
in case y'all of y'all are like, well, what do you mean you

(18:56):
need to do is learn how topitch a movie and then go have those
producers ask you question. Yeah, right off, cup, you keep doing
it enough, you'll be like,I'm ready for anything. Right, that's
the crazy question, like what's whatwhat curl pattern is you and your charter
gonna have you like? Ask girl. They're gonna be like, but they
wipe, they're getting the perm theygetting the power, right, they're getting
the firm, they're getting firms.Relaxes. Okay, I love, you're

(19:19):
ready. I'm ready. I willmake him later and sometimes you gotta go
with the flow too. You justgotta come up with whatever on the spot
and then switch up in there like, oh, we can't do that,
but here's another way we can dothat. That's fine, you can't do
that. You gotta go with theflow. Okay, tell us you know
social media handle that you just toldhim. I was a getting with people,

(19:42):
follow you find out more about you. I did just give it out
my bad my fair Lady T ismy fair lady and then the letter T,
so it's all together, my fairLady T. That's Twitter, Instagram,
that's Facebook, that is TikTok.That is literally everywhere I and my
fair LADT or every single thing.Um, hit me up the side of

(20:03):
my DMS if you really need toreach me. Um, you know,
hit me up. You'll see myemail. My website is my fair ladt
dot net. You'll see all mywork on there. You see my Popeyes
commercial, you see all the stuffI'm doing here at fox Worthy five,
you see you want to see itall? Okay, it's gonna be.
It's all on there. So yeah, yes, I love it. Hey,
they can be so much more ifyou bought it up. I was

(20:25):
like I'm not gonna bring I'm notgonna bang it up. And then when
you one of them who were like, yeah you can bang it up.
Yeah, I mean that's nobody. That's how that was like the first national
thing that I did. So yes, it's a it's about and that was
just based off of me content creating, just coming up with videos on my
own and Popeyes was like, canwe can we get a couple of techns
to that and boom they were likethat was it? Here you go,
we'll take it. When National, they they said they wanted to use it

(20:49):
like you know, um because theythought it was good and I was like,
okay, cool. So I justwas like, oh that's fine,
and then boom it went national.I did not think international. It was
in portod Goal. It was endmean come Republic. People were traveling and
it was telling me they sawry Soyou never know what's gonna bite. You
really have to like believe in yourselfand like your passion and your gifts.
You're gifted, you're talented. Believingyourself so you can't make through. Come

(21:11):
on, you got y'all. Igot say I feel like I'm aprecch it.
Now let me back up we asentrepreneurs and content creators. When you
need hear it, we need tohear it often because how many names say
in your life. When you're tryingto be a lot, you can hear
people we're like, you can doit. Yes, it's the name.

(21:33):
You got to take get rid ofall that extra stuff in your ear.
Don't the people who are talking toyou and telling you negative things. It's
just because the more they can keepyou down, the less of a chance
you'll have a blowing up and andcoming into your full gift of who you're
supposed to be. I'm telling youy'all, y'all listen, I can tell
y'all stories. Okay, so yeah, and you know we'll be like two

(21:56):
