is trying to stay one steppy head of the curve
at the moment because everything is happening at once, but

A little bit nippy this morning, but all of a
sudden Autumn's turned up on the back door with great
a vengeance.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, I know. We had a very very good frosty
on the gally here this morning, and yeah, I went
up the hell to shifts some news up the hill.
It was actually a lot water up the hill, so
it was a good day to heat up there anyway.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
So how's the season being over the past month.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Or so, it's been pretty good. Yeah, obviously we haven't
had a lot of hate, but we get one or
two good days and then the cold weather again. But listen,
we can't get blame. We got the most grass we've
had this time here for for a long time, so
that's good.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Certain areas can planning about lack of rainfall. That hasn't
been an issue there.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
No, no, which normally we are probably you know, we
we do get this is the time of year we are.
We do get recently dry. But now we're just being
good enough to keep us keep us ticking on. So
it's been good and the crops were outstanding, so yeah,
we can't complain.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Will would that be as good as what you've seen?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Definitely on a path last year cropschol last year. But yeah, yeah,
no they are probably yeah, probably are very good. Yet
a Swede, you're outstanding here.

There's always a good complaint to have leading up to May.
Now as far as getting lambs away, we know the
situation with the price. It's pretty good that you're getting
the weights up.

Yeah, no, we do. You know we're sitting around. We're
probably sit around every little at naughty and k So yeah,
I'm pretty heavy, but obviously we might you know, if
we obviously he's getting a bit more than we sort
of windows coming up, we may drop the weights a bit,
but just about a way have small lambs today. So
and we're weighing the staff wearing lambs over clear the
else today too, so just how they go. So yeah, no, no,

we just take a long.

Do you take any Lambs through into the spring or
do you try to get rid of everything before the
boys go out?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
We'll probably take obviously brought a few stores and so
there'll be a few smaller ones we may take through.
It just depends when they're ready to go they go. So, yeah,
I've got a little bit chow. I put it later
to take a few through if I have to.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
So yeah, i'd say you got the stores at the
right time.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, I know. I've seen the things on the prices
go around now and I thought they were too dear
when I brought them, but no, they'll probably work too bad.

It's pretty good money for a store, Lamb. It just
shows the mood of the sector.

Yeah, I just yeah, obviously we know what's the she
you're going to do in the spring. It's obviously obviously
people think it's going to be pretty good jeepers.

But this isn't that far away. Rams going out Pete
Garde and was talking about it before. I mean, this
comes around pretty quickly.

Yeah, I will be more early Marble were going out, No,
a couple weeks away, so yeah, that's not far away.

I remember you're not allowed to call them the A

you're really aheading with them, so and we're yeah, we's
got the mixtage used off the hill to do tomorrow,
get them dipped up, and then we've just got the
uliums to do in another fortnight so that we're all
the dipping done too. So yeah, it's not good to
have that tiny it up.

Good job to get out of the road. Has fly
been an issue up till now?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
No, No, we because we we obviously dipped out all
the lambs at weaning and all the todes. We we
dipped them before Christmas just to get us through the
well sort of January February, and we've had no fly
really well none as far as I'm getting.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Well, there's something to cry about it this time of year.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
It is yet like like the use up the hills
uphill there the swalling shift for them, and I was,
but worry at them. But I didn't see any of them,
so it's yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's a good So on as far as rams, do
you have any rams left? If people are after a
few options perhaps part.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, now we're going to hand for we're actually having
very many set tax or rams left, I think is what.
We're about a dozen or have ten or so of them.
And as you got thirty of Robbie's here, so if
anyone's you know, short, just don't be afraid to give
me a call.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
How are the cattle going? They'll be humming along?
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, no, kettle going good. We're actually Monday, well three
days next week, we're doing a lot with the balls,
getting them sorted up, so getting the structural assessment done
and all that sort of care on. So yes, I'm
looking forward to having a bit to do with.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
That hereet AREFC you're the coach? Are you the old
style coach who rents and rays and kicks water bottles
around in the changing room? Or do you cater to
the feelings of the gen z's and just sit there
and ask them what they like to achieve throughout the
course of the game.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, I'll probably go with the second one. Now you know,
ten years ago, I'll probe the other one. But obviously
it's all changed a bit. But it's just going good.
We've got a good bunch of guys and we've had
a few new players turn up to which is really good.
So we're going to first hitd out this weekend up
and up at Wanaka. So it'll be interesting because they'll
be they'll be a tough team. So we'll see where

So Grumby Clayton hasn't came out to play yet, not yet,
but obviously you guys good for numbers.

Yeah, no, I think we're close to probably thirty odd numbers,
thirty odd players, so when they will turn up, obviously
he's still been a cricket on and you know, obviously
it's still people are still busy. So yeah, we had
twenty three or something at training on Thursday night and
this with quite a few not there. So yeah, we'll
be right. We're just yeah, yeah, well well we'll see

How's the ground looking out there? Is it hard or
has it been pretty good before the moisture?

No, it's not too bad it so you know it's
and it had gone hard again last week, but obviously
just raying the weekend it would have softened up again.

We're going to get going pretty good this year. You
love your cricket as well, so as an over for
