Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome back to the Muster Clayton pieces of Peter's Genetics
naming sponsors of the Muster on Hock and we joined
pup once again. Good afternoon. Ground conditions out at.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Harriet very wet any Yeah, good after to you too.
They're actually bit deep underfoot. But we needed the rain,
so hopefully we get a bit of growth over the
next two or three weeks. Yeah, I'm getting very dry.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
How dry are you there exactly compared to where you
want to be.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Well, yeah, we still would just put kettle on fire,
the balls and fat and kettle and obviously we've had
a bit of rain, but the ground still quite hard underneath.
So yeah, that's it's been quite late dry. But anyway,
we just get used to it's going to get it
normally gets right. Some staye so but yeah, all the
crops are good stockhol and good next so yeah, hopefully
(00:58):
she's gonna be good for mixteen.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Days every day without these frost is a bit of
a saving grace for you there then.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, probably, well we had a few frosty just proprided
duckt shooting and sort of bloody grasp brown off at
that it was looking quite dull but obviously it's dry,
so I think the ground heaps is still pretty warm.
We've had this right now, and to be fair, everything's
just greened up. It says you're looking a lot better.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
So how how our ground conditions?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
As far as feed, We're probably back a little bit
on grass. But I've sort of pretty much set up
with the crops, so hopefully I can hold everything till
skinning and pretty much all the singles and that sort
of things get in the two scale and crop and
then all the mixed days twins and that head up
that into the hell country. So yeah, so we're pretty
(01:42):
I think we were pretty right.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
So you set for winter made, yeah, which.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Is sort of it. This week's in the winter May.
We sort of held the follow beat off putting kill
on Follo because we knew were gonna get a bit of
rain over the weekend, so so I fled out doing
that at the moment. So now we're going to just
going to keep the barge up to them just getting
transferred into all the follow weeks. So yeah, so it's
been all go.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
So oh the lambs are off.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
The need to be off, we saw, you know, we
just got the ram just we're up with the Hobbits
a week ago. About fifteen hundred hoggits going of the
ram and the ones that are not going to the
ram are old swedes already, so then we've just got
to cheer. We've just got seeking cycle rams of change
the studs tomorrow and yeah, it's pretty much like a
few second circle rams out.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Your bull sail coming up?
Speaker 2 (02:24):
How are things looking, I'll mess you're getting quite excited
about it, if you any. Yeah, I've just been a
few sALS you been, and some come up next week,
so it's going to be to see how they go.
But I know we're really happy with the line up
of balls and they had over looking good. Yeah, so
she's exciting times.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Well, it's great times to be involved in the beef industry.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yes it is, yeah, yeah, And I like to refear
like sheep when she's going pretty body good too, so
we can't complain. But may you know, may long at last? Yeah,
we'll just see how things go.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
So one are the dates of people meeting a round yourself.
We'll probably catch up you for them as well. But
now Liz, give people a bit of an idea.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, well it's on the twenty sixth to May over
at the Baymont. Right, we're actually heaving at the Bayman hotl.
We have the ball straight across the road, I think
viewing from sort of about US nine in the sales
of eleven. So yeah, on the twenty sixth to money,
So you know, looking forward to.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
As far as dak Shirdy, how did you fear?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Oh, we were back a bit, but it was good,
good times, catch up mates and stuff. So yeah, it
was pretty quiet, weak year. Really, it was good just
to sort of sit back and relax a bit. I
had to should have add and shift a few more
of the feet on the Sunday Saturday afternoon and the
Sunday and that was a good time. We're back back
of it on numbers, but they just weren't around this year,
so and it was obviously a beautiful day.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
And the other string to you, are you coaching Harry
at rugby this year and the season now or you're
probably about halfway through the compo most are it?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, we're not quite halfway. We're we're taking a lot, ok,
We're just it's obviously quite a tight conference in this year.
So yeah, we've got some vital games coming up and
which we need to win. So yeah, we've won a
couple and just lost a couple and so you know,
it's it's quite exciting. I'm quite enjoying it. A good
bunch of guys. Yeah, we're just yeah, we just haven't
(04:13):
quite clicked yet. We're gonna, We're gonna, We're trib will
tell Well.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
It's the same old story. I suppose. It's like the
one competition here in Southland's highly competitive. It is no
different to what you're playing that grade.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
No, No, probably not, No, it's probably very similar. You know,
there's a problem Cleveland the top side. They are very
very strong side. You know, we we we got a
bit of a hiding from them, to be fair, but
we're aware right in at one stage we just fully
fell fell apart a wee bit. But they've always know that,
and we know what we're capable of. So we'll click
(04:46):
one day, very shortly, I hope.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So what's a focus on the ranch this afternoon? Pat?
What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Actually, I'm just gonna shot over and just have sort
of some stuff with the balls with Justin and guy Sergeant,
and then I'm coming back to Way and Lambs.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Let's go there, haven't you got to do. You've not
got a food chaine for that.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Well, I'll just we're going to crush them over the ball.
But they're a bit damp, so we'll just wag them
and crush them in the race. Wheels we go. Yeah, no,
I actually quite enjoyed it be for you.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Oh well, it's good to show the young bucks how
it's done.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeah, did right.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
