Speaker 1 (00:02):
I understand.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Thanks to Abbi Rur, will we catch up once again
with Grant Disaster McMaster. He's got a sidekick today, Brian Dag.
They've been weaning calves up there at close per in station.
Gooday guys, house eggs.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah good. He's the exit of the building. Andy here.
So we're just waiting for the second truck to come
as we've had quite a good lot of cars get
away today, so we've have to we've got to get
another truck and to come and give us a hand.
So that's he's he's just like looking at the moment,
but no, it's nine degrees at the moment. It's fine.
(00:37):
Bit of a col briefly is here.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, it's not that warm and Gore, I think it's
a slight correction and we're going to go into warm
temperatures until Saturday.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
But I don't know, it's been a pretty good march.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Actually, this just shows you today April's around the corner
and just knocking on your head and telling you year
I'm here.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, well we got we got twenty five meals of
rain over the weekend actually Saturday night and a nice
rain till Sunday. Lunchtime, which was really really good timing.
That's got it's got water going back through the creek
and the caval yards paddle, although it's it's sort of
dropping away again now, so yeah, lakes Low creeks are low,
but you know, three or five miles away and it's
(01:15):
still looking really good in here.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
So we're we're lucky.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, all the all the weaning's done. We just truck
and trailer away with odom cow and we have too
many for one unit. So luckily there's another another truck
coming down from Mount Crichton, so there's enough for the
last fifteen on that. So they are away today in
the sale tomorrow. So yeah, cows are making a bit
of noise at the moment, but all in pretty good
(01:41):
and good condition as you expect. Calves looking good, and
we'll TV will pregnancy test on Friday and get the
cows out and yeah, start to get the cows working again.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
How many calves have you weaned all of them? Yeah?
Numbers right, one hundred.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
One hundred and twenty eight calves the way, so that
was that's pretty good. And we had one hundred and
twenty six cows, so that's well, that's we lost the
ob but that's that's the way it stands at the moment.
So yeah, the few calves come out, no doubt, but yeah,
good we said all the carves, didn't didn't keep any back.
(02:22):
They're all a pretty good even line. The idea I've
got the last couple of years out. There's any smaller ones,
I've just keep them at the hells four or five
of them. But you know, the market's as good as
it's it's ever been, so you know everything's selling. So yeah,
all a pretty good even line. Heaps look good, but
we'll see what happens tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
So you're buying cattle in there obviously. As far as
breeding propositions.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah, I've always bought. We've always bought about twenty five
heifers every year or to normally to carve as three
year olds. It's getting in straight.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Blacks and we put the herop and ball over and
so you know that first class is quite well sought after,
especially in heathers, and that's you know that's rewarded us
over the years with with selling our hippers at at
the at the overcow sale. So hopefully Paul Croox is
listening and Cox.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
He normally comes up. He is a good a good
buyer of airs for.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Us, and he he normally.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Comes and has a going our heaper, so I hope
he's back up again. And yeah, so that's that's the
way we're roll So we just we normally we've always
got our heipers from the same place. But remember a
couple of years ago there was an outbreak of TV
in that area, so we we've had the outsourced the
heapers again. So that's yeah, it's always good. It's always
good to get the to you know, get your heapers
(03:37):
from the same place every year, which we've managed to
do for probably eighteen years. But you know, there's still
there's still good heathers around there of it. The last
couple of years we've actually bought heapers that have carved
as two year olds and they carve a three year
old for us, so yeah, got to buy them and
over apart from that, everything else is just sort of
kicking along, right your.
Speaker 4 (03:56):

the place had red velvet, wool paper and gold plated journals.
