Good afternoon, Matt, Any Camosi, here comes off what stepper
that seems to be pretty much a catch cry for
your footy teams at the moment.

The afternoon, Andy, Yeah, you won't catch me step in
too much. I'm just in one speed these days. But yeah,
they're certainly going a ride at the moment at this
end of the season, which is good.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
How long since the senior team lost a game? Is
it two and a half years or something? I heard?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, yeah, I don't want to drink some to be fair,
but it does something like that. Yeah, I've got a
really good street going at the moment, so they've been
working pretty hard to maintain it. The playing are pretty
good out everything. This weekend, Yeah, no doubt they'll be
training had.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
How's everything looking on the ranch? It sounds as though
it's a little bit deep.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, we've got twenty miles aroun overnights just have to
draw it out away bit yesterday. See you winters being winter,
which is quite good. Yeah, they're just going through the
motions with a fever bit on crop at the moment.
We've got buns and singles and a few kettles still
on and all of it's ship grows and the rest.
No that we head over the autumn as well. Fear
(01:32):
bit of electric fencing, but it's good. Yeah, good to
be heavy wick leathers on after I've seen to avoid
a bit of the ship that comes through last week.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Well, you have a lot of rainfall on there normally. Anyway,
who would you say you are? Would you be on
powerf where it traditionally.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Is, Yeah, i'd say so. I haven't actually looked in
comparison to the last few years, but I'd just say
we've ticked over nine hundred mills for the year with that.
But we've got overnights. Yeah, we're getting their fish here,
but it's we're well set up for it, and yeah
it covers a lot and good and the stock pretty good.
(02:08):
They skin really well as always. So yeah, just we
get the hogits and in another ten days or so
and get been through. It'll be interesting and to see
where they are, but they're certainly looking a picture at
the moment.

Crop utilizations where you want it to be.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah it is. Yeah, you always waste to leave it
in the in the wet, but we're kind of like
I've started or two day shifting some of the stuff
on the beat this year and just they just seem
to be a bit more settled and and where they'd
leave a bit behind the gonk. So yeah, the utilization

has been good. The Swede crops are being fantastic this
year as well. They'd probably be around they're aiding ton
at a guess the way they're eating. So I'm pretty
happy with that.

You've been over and Aussie recently in Adelaide the Lamb
Mix conference. It was a massive deal to what was
the fourteen hundred people turned up.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah, so I'm shut over there with decent men last
week and yeah, there's fourteen hundred people there over the
three days. I think there's twelve hundred at the gala
dinner on the final night. And yeah, people from all
over the world, but yeah, mainly Aussies as you'd expect.
But never been tir Laid before. But it's not a
bad place and certainly a bit warmer than what it

was at home. And yeah, the conference was just all
around sheep, I guess in Australian sheep industry in particular.
So I learned away a bit around the Aussies and
there's a few things can bring home, but certainly very
thought provoking and there's a lot of innovation and course
stuff happening that here we can share across the industry
(03:46):
here too.

No doubt a trip to the Barossa Valley was thrown
in there as well.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
No I didn't. I come home and the day of
the field tours and spent a day catching up on
a bit of working school holidays. But yeah, there's a
few that we're heading that way or the before or
after the conference, but it's just timing of it and
U a busy time of the year as well, So

trying to make you some the days over school holidays fair.

Cool or they weren't made. So what what was the
major rushes over there? Is a very similar to Kiwi
farmers and what we're having to tolerate at the moment
or prices are pretty buoyant, but other factors externally just
coming into play.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, they are very similar. I was saying if hear like,
obviously they kill thems a lot heavier and the twenty
five k average plus white ground white bracket, and they
also have the war income as well, a lot of
Marino influence coming through, so they've got that income stream

as well. The probably what surprised me the most is
a fear bit of containment containment fading, so a lot
when they run out to feed though feed grain and
bits and pieces to the lands before they for a
couple months before they go to the works. Yeah, there's
some interesting things, so investing a lot in R and
D and there's a few things that we can probably

take back here or go on pair of sites and
technology that that'll go global, which is pretty cool to see.

What about wall, what's happening in the space over there
in Australia so to speak.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yes, obviously there's a fair bit of wall tech they've
been investing in for a while now. There's probably a
couple of things that caught my interests. There's a bit
of technology that they were don't correct me on the numbers,
but it's something like taking twenty three micron wall down
to twenty using this machine. And I enquired around if

I could take strong wall down to twenty as well,
but obviously I haven't had as much as the questioning
and all these she was to go and look into
be pretty coose they did. And the other bit was,
there's a brief discussion on the bio harvesting of wool
and injecting what I believe is a corn extract or

something similar. And again they're pretty light on the details
because it's still in development, but yeah, injecting that into
the sheep, which causes a wall break, and ten to
fourteen days later they can come in and effectively pull
the wall off the sheep, or use a developing like
a big vicuum cleaner to pull it off, and then
(06:32):
AI to class the wall and their bodocs to sort
it in into your fedges. Like just pretty outrageous things
to be thinking of in terms of what we're doing
from here, but it's in call that those people out
there looking at alternatives and what possibly could be done.

So you're effectively plucking a live sheep.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, yep, yeah, And it's I think ten to fourteen
days as so the wall grows out enough that it's
pretty much at the same length as what it would
be if sure so, and you could leave it longer,
longer like four weeks if you wanted a covercoam. I guess. Yeah.

There's a lot of cool technology there that they're looking at.
But obviously it would have to take a lot of
the boxers and get in, but would be a game
changer for some people in the industry. And when you
look at the way shedding's gone and taken off, like
it could be an alternat will potentially be an alternative.

You also mentioned before briefly as well Afair about AI
and wall pressing.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, so that was the They're going to use the
AI to class the wall off, this machine that class
it into your microns or grades, and then the robotics
to press it, press it into bows. I guess you
would take away that in your labor aspect of the

shearing as well. So it's your mate. So who knows.
You may have a truck turn up and instead of
having a wallshed you give curtain side a truck turn
up and all your wall harvesting that way.

And all these robots that get rolled into your wall
shehed for an afternoon.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I doubt it's the golond of technology
that you'll deserve sitting around yourself. But who knows is
obviously spending a few bit of money on R and
A in comparison to what we are in the wall space.
I guess it's just one of the many things that
they're locking at, but it's certainly something that put more
attention anyway.
