Ep. 362 – Rusty Myers: Changing the Culture of Law Enforcement

What happens when the people you've trusted your entire career suddenly stop calling?

In this powerful episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with Rusty Myers, veteran law enforcement officer and author of Tattered: When the Blue Line Frays, to discuss the hidden mental health challenges facing police officers, the importance of leadership, and why changing the culture of law enforcement has never been more urgent.

After surviving a career-altering incident that left him isolated for months despite doing everything by the book, Rusty shares the painful lessons that inspired him to write his story—not for sympathy, but to prepare the next officer who may face a similar storm. Together, Jerrod and Rusty explore police leadership, officer wellness, suicide prevention, resilience, and the critical role of simply checking in on one another.

Whether you wear a badge, lead a team, or simply want to become a better leader and friend, this conversation offers practical wisdom on courage, purpose, empathy, and the power of human connection.
