Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, if you enjoy the Walton Johnson Show like we do,
then you might also enjoy the Pursuit of Happiness show
in the afternoon with oh Kenny Webster there.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And as a matter of fact, I think, do we
have a clip? Can we play a clip?
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Sometimes when I read news stories, I feel like whoever
authored the article just has tourettes, or maybe they're playing
mad libs. If I told you that Pamela Anderson was
fighting with Sylvester Turner, I'm sorry, Sylvester Stallone, I guess
that's a little different. Okay, even that'd be even crazier
because he's dead. But if I told you Pamela Anderson
(00:37):
was having an argument with Sylvester Stallone, you'd think guys
making that up.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
But it's true.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Pam Anderson and Sylvester Stallone are feuding. Fortunately, nursing home
orderlies were nearby to wheel them into separate corners, so
that's good. Is this a spoiled papperd narcissistic Hollywood bratt
or what? Remember when Pamela Anderson kind of unintentionally admitted
she slept with Vladimir Putin, No, it's true, she was
(01:02):
trying to get him to stop clubbing seals.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Again?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Like, are we just playing mad libs with the news.
I don't know. I don't know the answer. But here's
another odd one today. Again, it just feels like I'm
picking words out of a hat. Sydney Sweeney is having
a public feud with Lizzo. Lizzo and Doja Cat are
upset that Sydney Sweeney, a beautiful, breasty, blonde woman, is
in a blue jeans commercial where she talks about her genes.
(01:28):
Now you've heard us explain this before till we're blue
in the face. Pun intended is were they trying to
do a dog whistle to white supremacist when they made
an analogy or I guess a play on words, if
you will, like between blue jeans and genetics? Or was
it just a poorly written ad that went viral because
it's seemingly mundane, but a handful of stupid people got
(01:51):
offended by it. There's people that are legitimately mad about it,
and then there's people think it's funny that they're mad.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
And so now the Sydney Sweeney thing, it just.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Refuses to go away. And we learned that she's a Republican.
You know that's pretty incredible. Someone I hadn't asked about
this yet is one of the funniest guys I know.
Stand up comedian Tim Mathis is here right now, live
from Well. He's our Hollywood News reporter, but he lives
in New Mexico, because that's how seriously we take Hollywood News.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Tim, I bet you're a Sidney Sweeney fan.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
H Yeah, shockingly enough, as most sis heterosexual males, I
do enjoy Sidney Sweeney. My problem, yeah, my problem with it. Yes, this,
I had to throw that in there. I want to
make sure everybody knows. But my problem with the ad
(02:44):
is the ad boils down to two things. Number one,
it's upon jeans and jeans, you know, two different words,
and then, of course Sidney Sweeney. And one of the
funniest parts of it is the fact that they're focused
on the gene. Sidney Sweeney is a gorgeous woman, but
like a lot of white women, she it does not
(03:05):
have much of a booty. We can agree on that,
so she's mostly tatas or in this case, it's about
puns and jugs, and my surprise is that people are
mad about those two things. I love puns and I
love jugs. So why are we mad about these things?
(03:26):
I don't understand it. I don't understand the outrage. It's
one of those things where they just want to be
mad about something. I get it if you're built like Lizzo,
because Lizzo's lost some weight and she still looks terrible.
So I get it. If you're Lizzo, you're mad about
your genetics. Clearly, it's not all black women. There's a
(03:47):
lot of gorgeous black women out there. I love black women,
but Lizzo should not be in any way criticizing Sidney
Sweeney because at least not when it comes to body type. Right.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, isn't it kind of interesting too, Tim Whenever the
liberal media, or elected officials or people in positions of
power and influence, whenever they feel like black people aren't
getting enough representation. Lately, it feels like they pick the
worst representation for black people. I mean, not long ago,
they erected statues around the city of New York featuring
(04:25):
chubby black women wearing yoga pants looking at their iPhones.
And I couldn't help but wonder, how does that help
black people? It actually makes them look worse, doesn't it.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, it's really odd. That for some reason, when it
comes to certain groups of people, they seem to want
to celebrate the least exceptional. That statue you mentioned, I
was going to bring it up too. It's I mean,
I'm a white guy, so I don't really have a
dog in a fight. But I'd be embarrassed if that
(04:56):
was what society, or at least the people that think
they run society, viewed my group as an angry woman
who's at least eighty pounds overweight, just standing there waiting
to see the manager. That's what it was. And on
the other yeah, and on the other hand, you've got
Sidney Sweeney talking about her jeans but also talking about jeans,
(05:21):
so you know, that's the juxtaposition. And I would just
be enraged if that was what people saw as my
representation in the other Another.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
News story from pop culture to it's getting a lot
of attention is south Park. Look, I'm not gonna lie.
I love south Park. Even if south Park's making fun
of Ice Agents and JD. Vance and Donald Trump, I
don't really care. It's a silly cartoon with funny little character.
It doesn't matter to me. The latest episode of south
Park went pretty hard on Homeland Security Secretary Christy Nome.
I haven't watched the whole episode yet, I just watched
(05:52):
some clips, but it depicts her as a face melting
dog shooter. Now, to be fair, she did write a
book where she bragged about killing a dog. I don't know, Like,
who cares. We're on the right. We can take a joke.
I noticed even Charlie Kirk gets made fun of in
South Park and he changed his profile photos so it's
like the.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Cartman version of him on the show.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Similarly, Ice too, The Immigration Customs Enforcement recently posted the
South Park depiction of ICE agents like they thought it
was funny and cool. If they can laugh at themselves,
I'm sure mega Republicans can laugh at it right.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
One of the biggest difference between the two sides of
the political spectrum is even if you look at Trump himself,
he does self deprecating stuff all the time.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
For some reason, the left is convinced that they're so
serious in their mission to save the country from what
they view as fascistic tendencies or whatever the hell. They
take themselves way too seriously. And if you want to
win over the public, if you want to win elections,
(07:02):
you have to not take yourself that seriously. People get
turned off by that. And I think what South Park
is doing, to be honest with you, is they took
the entire Biden presidency off when it came to political satire.
They never once smeared Biden and the fact that he
was brain dead and getting us into war after war.
(07:24):
So I think they're overcorrecting in a way. I think
they're going so hard in the paint on Trump because
they basically dropped the ball for four years during the
Biden presidency.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah, I think you're correct about that. Most of us
don't care. South Park made fun of us. Many of
us even enjoyed it. It's a silly cartoon. It's okay,
We'll be fine. And I think a long time ago,
Lauren Michael from Saturday and Live once, said the executive producer.
He was asked why I always made fun of conservatives
and not liberals, and the answer, if I'm not mistaken,
(07:56):
and I'm paraphrasing here, it wasn't quite what you would
have expected. You would have expected him to make make
some left wing statement about politics being more you know,
at the call or the morally righteous, or when when
he said he actually made the point that right wingers
and conservatives are better at laughing that them. Even Lauren
Michaels from Saturday Night Live has acknowledged this publicly before.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
This isn't new, right tim, I mean, it's been this
way for a while.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Well, think about it. I mean South Park is going
out of their way to hammer on conservative politics and
politicians and policies. Whereas the conservatives don't get mad. They celebrated.
They say, look at hey, we finally made the big time.
You know, they're making fun of us, Whereas the left
is losing their mind about a genead. So think about if, yeah,
(08:44):
they think about if South Park would have actually gone
after Biden much less Kamala. I mean, if they would
have gone after Kamala, they would have they may have
lost their gig on Comedy Central.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Who knows. It's crazy something I'm looking forward to watching.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I know this is going to sound crazy, but I'm
really looking forward to watching Jesse Smowitt and Johnny Manzell,
the former Heisman Trophy winner an NFL player, compete with
each other on a TV show. They're going to be
on something called Special Forces World's Toughest Test. Apparently it's
a reality TV competition show where they do a military
style obstacle course. I know it sounds dumb, Tim, but
(09:22):
I think that sounds entertaining.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
They should film a special episode in Chicago in the
winter time. We know that Jesse bravely went out in
what was it negative ten degree weather or something like that,
so he's clearly a cold natured individual. They should try.
They should try to. They should try to put in
(09:46):
the show something very famous hate crime that. I'm sure
he's still looking for the perpetrators since he still claims
that he's innocent. But yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Maybe he'll find it on that obstacle course. Hey, before
we run, my buddy Tim Matt on the line. Tim
is such a funny comedian. And Tim, you're still working
on that comedy this mockumentary and there's a go fundme
for that about your Frisbee golf documentary. You guys are
doing it looks like it's hilarious. And you also have
comedy shows coming up, right. People could find you at
Tim mathis comedy on Twitter and Instagram, but anything else
(10:17):
you want them.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
To take a look at.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yes, sir, I, like you said, I do have that mockumentary.
It's called Mega Bowl, So just google if you do
want to contribute, google Mega Bowl or also two Veterans
hilarious mockumentary. It's about frisbee golf. We're definitely going to
be filming a lot in Texas, starting to film next year.
And I'm also going to be at the Colleen Comedy
Festival at the end of this month, so look out
(10:42):
for that.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
