Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, if you enjoy the you Walt A. Johnson Show
like we do, then you might also enjoy the Pursuit
of Happiness show in the afternoon with oh Kinney Webster there.
And as a matter of fact, I think, do we
have a clip? Can we play a clip? Politicians are
so lazy. Whenever they tell you that something is something,
that means it's not that thing. And when they say

(00:23):
it's not that thing, you know obvious examples. There's nothing
patriotic about the Patriotic Act. The Affordable Care Act made
your healthcare more expensive. You get the ideas, there's an
infinite number. The Build Back Better Act didn't build anything
back better. I don't know. I had mixed feelings about
one big, beautiful bill, just the name of it. I

(00:43):
had mixed feelings about that. But that's besides the point.
That's the least of my concerns. The Dignity Act. What
the heck is the Dignity Act. Well, first of all,
they want you to think it's not an amnesty Act. Okay,
so let's address that. It's an amnesty Act. The Dignity
Act is like that awkward family reunion where you're no boundaries.
Cousin shows up uninvited, eats all the barbecue or in

(01:07):
this case maybe the Tamali's then demands you give him
a guest room and a job. But this time Congress says, fine,
but pay for the broken window, get fingerprinted, and no
voting rights or welfare buffet. What the Dignity Act claims
to do A few things, secure the border, does it?
I don't know. Fix the clown show asylum process, give
long term illegals a dignified legal status, but no citizenship

(01:29):
path for most. Protect the Dreamers with conditions, they say,
train American workers and make the whole thing self funding.
They say, that's what they say. They say, I don't know.
I'm suspicious. I think it sucks. Here is Congresswoman Maria
Salazar a Republican take, basically taking the mask off.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
We give them dignity. At some point in the future,
another legislator will write another law to give them paths
to citizenship. Right now, what we need to do is
to buy peace for these people, allow them to stay,
to continue working because they're needed.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Uh, someone else, I'll give him citizen ships. What do
the kids say? It's a little sus right, illegal immigrant
today Democrat and Welfare tomorrow. I don't speak Washington ease
quite as well as Daniel Turner from Power the Future does.
For one thing, he's a lot closer to Washington, and
he goes there a lot. Don't hold him against it.
I hold it against him. Somebody's got to Daniel Turner,

(02:26):
Power the Future. What the hell is going on with
the with the Dignity Act.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Jio, This is an amazing conversation. It's one of those
things like thoughtful guys in blazers with tweed patches on
the elbows and cigars would have like a philosophical conversation
about how the left manipulates language right, Like, it's not abortion,
it's choice, it's healthcare. Who doesn't support and now this

(02:52):
is dignity. We're not giving them amnesty, we're giving them dignity.
It's like, why do you manipulate the language when you
want to hide what you're truly clearly trying to do.
I haven't read all of the Dignity Act is available online.
It's hundreds and hundreds of pages long, but I read
through most of it, and it is clearly an amnesty bill.

(03:14):
The fact that it is retroactive to people who have
been in this country for years. Basically says, hey, if
Biden let you in, well you're here now, and we're
going to give you now dignity. So everyone who Biden
led in the door is allowed to stay. And if
you don't let them stay, Kenny, well then you don't
believe in dignity. Right, that's the games that we are playing.
I have to remind the congresswoman and any Republican who

(03:38):
was falling for this that for the first time since
another Texan, the great George H. W. Bush, since him,
this is the first time that Republicans have won the
popular vote in the presidential election. And they won it
because President Trump said we will have mass deportations. That

(04:00):
is a pretty big slap in the face of those
record numbers of people who came out every swing state.
Trump rags about it all the time. Right, every swing
state voted for him. Kamala didn't flip one county and
one of the leading, if not the only thing he
talked about was the border and mass deportations. So to
have a Republican now say well, this is dignity, right,

(04:23):
we need to do this. We need to pivot. We
don't pivot from what has won us the popular vote
and mass deportations of millions of people who have been
draining our resources. There is no dignity in rewarding that
with anything other than a one way ticket home.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
All right, The Dignity Acts is two hundred and sixty
one pages. Now for a book. That wouldn't be bad.
But you know it's not exactly war in peace. But
it's a bill. Why can't the bill just say, you know,
build a wall, secure the border, deport the illegal aliens,
check IDs. That's not what it's says. He's easy, right, Yeah,
that would be sai.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Why do we have to talk about securing the border
because the border secure, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Well, it's not codified, Isn't that what they'll tell you
that when Trump leaves office? And I do believe this,
when Trump leaves office, we go right back to where
if Jad Vanstein get elected or Rubio or someone that
actually cares. I don't see a scenario people on the
left or US. I heard the right wing one of
my buddies the other day. I heard a conservative say, well,
this is why we need to build the wall. So

(05:27):
the next time there's a democrat, YadA, YadA, YadA, dude,
Biden dismantled parts of the wall. Do you think a
Democrat building a wall isn't going to stop anything? The
Democrats could take that down.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
You have to remember those images of the bulldozers that
when Biden sent the National Guard in because Governor Abbott
had put down razor wire, and Biden was like, nope,
you have no authority to shut down the border. Only
the president can. So he opened the wall, he opened
the razor wire backup so that more millions of people
could sneak in. And now we are going to give

(05:57):
them dignity. And I think what's angering about this? And
obviously it's going to be understood as like this is
a race issue and it's your anti Latino. All of
that is just a boat, a bunch of KOUI to
get people to shut up. What angers me about it
is that we have pivoted and diverted hundreds of billions
of dollars of resources because we believe in dignity, because

(06:19):
we said we can't let people starve, we can't let
people We have given a lot of our of our
treasure to folks who have not paid a dime into
the system. That's gone right we're never going to recuperate it.
But you don't get to continue on that path. Right
if we were nice enough to say, you snuck in
and we found you in the middle of Arizona, of

(06:40):
course we're going to give you something to eat, and
we're going to give you water. But now we don't
get to reward you with staying here with more resources.
And this nonsense that they are working, they are contributing.
You know, I just don't fall for any of that.
I don't fall for any of that because Americans are
working too, and we are contributing, and yet we get text,

(07:02):
we get burdened, we have paperwork up the wazoo. So
a rewarding black market labor and calling a dignity. It's
just defensive on so many different levels. And I rarely
like read on red violence, rite republican or rebel republican violence.

(07:22):
But someone needs the primary of this woman, because you
are not standing for the Republican party, right, you are
standing for illegal immigrants, and you have that prerogative, but
not as a member of the legislature. This is no
different than ilhan Omar saying that the Somalis are our
top priority. Somalia is our top priority. Right, If Somali
is your top priority, then go to hell back to Somalia.

(07:44):
And if illegals are your top priority, then get the
hell out of Congress.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
All right, So, Daniel, I can't help. But notice I'm
gonna use some specific language out of the bill here.
I'm just gonna tell you what the bill says. I
want your take on it. The bill uses real specific language.
It says it calls for full operational control of the border.
And we've heard this before. But we've heard we've had
past promises where billions in fundings still left us with

(08:08):
record crossings. Right, what specifically gives us full operational control? Now?
The bill also says that it authorizes barriers in tech
where most effective? Where most effective? Who decides that? Does
an activist judge decide it? Does the next Democrat administration
get to decide what's most effective? Who decides that? Daniel?

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Exactly, that's the vagaries that are built into this so
that when the next you know, Gavin Newsom becomes president,
he says, well, you know what, I don't think it
is effective to have this technology anywhere. You know why,
because it's not dignity. There's no dignity on putting cameras
on these poor people who are all seeking amnesty, everyone
seeking amnesty. Right, it is, It is just the level

(08:50):
of offense against what has been a rape of American
taxpayers resources effort.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
The fact that we've been talking.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
About this, how many what's the percentage of black kids
in Houston who can read? Don't you think that those
kids have a parent who is saying, boy, I wish
just one tenth of the effort.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
We talk about people who.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Arrived in this country five minutes ago. I wish one
tenth of that went to my kid. I've been in
Houston for seven generations, and our public school, besides the
fact that it's full of asbestos, no one can read,
or write, or do or do do you know mathematics?
And yet dignity. But what about the dignity of what
about the dignity of Appalachians whose livelihoods were completely stripped

(09:35):
because they sent all the jobs to Mexico or to China,
and we've given them Fenton all on opioids and said sorry,
this is your life. Now you a bunch at he'll
billy inbreds and we all make fun of them. Right,
where's the dignity for that. Don't you wish just one
percentage of the of the effort we're talking about This
went to our crumbling roads and bridges and all the

(09:55):
other crap that Congress promises they will fix. So that's
the dignity that I'm looking for. And again, it is
just such a level of offense, and quite frankly, Kenny,
it raises the question of the people we elect. Yeah,
because I'm sorry. She may be a lovely person, but
clearly she is not American. She may have citizenship just

(10:16):
like ilhan Omar, but her heart lies somewhere else. And
we have a problem that we continue to elect newly
arrived immigrants to Congress and expect them to have the
heart of Americans because they don't.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
The Dignity Act, to me, is kind of like letting
people loot your home for five years and then on
the last day when the last looter walks out, installing
a dead bolt and then leaving the back windows wide
open with a note that says, please don't use these.
That's basically the gist of the Dignity Act.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Even if they didn't loot it, even if they just
took something from me, they took your car, and they
treated it perfectly, and they changed the tires, and they
change the oil, and they wash it and they drove
it with love and they say I love this car. Yes,
but it's still not yours. You still took it from me.
Doesn't matter. If you've treated it well, doesn't matter, if

(11:07):
you didn't hit any pedestrians and you followed all the
rules of the road and you stopped at stop signs,
and it's still not yours. And presence in America is
still not yours. And calling it dignity is just whitewashing
the fact that, I mean, she gave that a lot
of this speech at the World Economic Forum. It is

(11:28):
whitewashing the fact that people at places like the World
Economic Forum flood our borders with cheap you know, this
is Chamber of commerce type or talking points cheap labor
because it is good for business, it is good for
expensive So why Europe is flooded with cheap labor and immigrants,
and why America they want flooded with cheap labor and immigrants,

(11:50):
And that is that is offensive? Then to say no,
it's just dignity. Of course they want a better life.
I don't blame people for trying to get into America.
But I blame American elected officials who allow us to
be put on the hook for those people who feel
like they have a right to come. We are not
the flipping ATM of.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
The world, Daniel Turner, Powerthefuture dot Com. We are not
the ATM of the world. And just so we're clear,
we're talking about the machines that crank out money, not
the bizarre adult film genre. That's not what he's talking about.
Just so we're clear to the rest of you, I
say I love you all. Thank you so much for
tuning in today. We'll be back bright and early tomorrow
morning for more of what you bought a radio for.
