Speaker 1 (01:22):
You know, there is a difference.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Between music that entertains and music that calls you hire.
Some songs are built for charts, some are built clubs.
But every now and then an artist steps to the
mic with the mission. Not chasing fame, not chasing trends,
not even chasing applause, but chasing obedience. Because when purpose

(01:51):
takes over, music becomes something deeper than rhythm and rhyme.
It becomes a message, a ministry, a mirror that reflects
truth back to the listener. The Knight's Guest represents that
kind of calling, a Christian hip hop artist who approaches
every verse like a spiritual weapon, carefully crafted scripture, rooted

(02:14):
and aimed directly directly at the heart. From the streets
of Chicago's South Side to this disciple of military or
I'm not disciple discipline of military, service to fatherhood.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Faith and purpose.

Speaker 3 (02:33):

the minds of these incredible human beings, you know, the
ones who are out there giving it. They're all for me,
for you, and for the world. Where ladies and gentlemen.
Representing the South Side of Chicago, Arsenal is a Christian

(04:48):
hip hop artist using music as a weapon for truth.
With sharp lyricism rooted in scripture and a mission centered
on faith. The songs aimed to encourage, teach, and transform listeners.
From his early life in Inglewood to serving in the
military and building the life as a husband and father,

(05:08):
Arsenal's journey is a living testimony of purpose. His latest single,
Till I See Jesus, produced by own Beat Music, continues
his mission to share God's word through music. So please
join me in saying welcome friend to Arsenal. Hey, hey, hey,
welcome to the show.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Host Dannie. How's it going? Thank you for the introduction?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Absolutely, man, Absolutely, how's it going with you?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Going great? Going great? I got no complaints the priviles
and honor to be on the show.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yes, sir man, we are so excited to have you
with us tonight. So man, before we just really kick
off everything, call everything, Arsenal. What's been on your heart
and mind lately as you continue using music as a
tool to spread truth and encourage people in their faith.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Wow, that's a loaded question right there.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
But I think your opening statements, if I can be
genuine and real, the opening statements set at all the
fact that we can get wrong, and the depth of
our conversation obviously came beyond what we do as people deserve.
So what's been on my heart is salvation to souls

(06:27):
be fully transparent, especially the ones that are hard to reach.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah. Yeah, there's some stubborn ones out there right man.
I try to stay off social media as much as possible,
but I feel like you could reach a lot of
people through social media. So every now and then I'll.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Check upon you know, my people or whatever.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
But what I see is one big division people who
know the Bible and people who just quote quote scriptures
just to.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
I don't know, man, it seems like they've been in
certain words to fit their lifestyle. Like I'll give you
the example, you know, using like nah, I'm not gonna
do that.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I'm not gonna do that. I leave it for something else.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
But there is a divide, you know, from the truth
and what people perceive as the truth. And then people
who are like Junda Baptists, who like repent, repent, repent,
you know, you Denta Vipers, Right man, what's your whole
take on getting the gospel? Two people who desperately need it,

(07:39):
but they're either rejecting it have their own truth or
saying Jesus was all cuddly and solt.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
He didn't come with a sword, right right.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
So interesting question and my response to that is each
soul has a purpose that's given by God, and we
don't know that purpose, but we know as it's revealed
to us what our purposes. But our purpose can only
be revealed by His spirit. And it says that those
who are the sons of God are led by the

(08:11):
spirit of God. So the ones who are led by
the spirit of God.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Are the sons of God.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
So if he led you, then you should only speak
what he tells you to speak, just like Christ is.
So when it comes to the thuls that we're talking
about that are either stubborn or weighed in the balance
and the divide of whether or not I should go
the John the Baptists for out as you meant, or
whether or not I should go mild, you know, the

(08:39):
lamb or the lion, or should I find my own
truth in the midst of what.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I've processed out of Scripture? I believe I don't think.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
I believe that when you're led by the spirit, the
right words will be transposed in a manner that they
can receive it and digest it.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
That's what Jesus so.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
When we talk about being like Christ, because that's what
Christian means christ Like. Did you pray to ask the
spirit to lead you where you on your face? Therefore
that where are you having conversations throughout the day where
you in communion with God? Where's your covenant? Are you
walking obedience or are you walking according to how you

(09:24):
you feel at the moment based on what the world has.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Done to you.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
You know, these are a lot of questions that can
be asked, but truth be told. The sacrificial life Christ
is the reason why He touched the masses. And if
you're not willing to sacrifice, then this walk isn't for you.
But if you're willing to sacrifice, then it's one of

(09:49):
death for the ego. You mentioned, death to flesh, death
for the will and life Christ and then when you
go to open your mouth, the same Jesus that reached
the masses and touch the hearts of the sinner, the
same Jesus that's going to speak through you.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
So all said, I strongly feel that so many people have.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
A different Jesus that is hard to real you because
that only comes the breaking, crushing, pressing, and at the
end of the day, the anointing me.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
So Arsenal, When did you discover your purpose? Ah? Wow?

Speaker 6 (10:40):
I discovered it through my desire number one to just
always be around music and worship. I discovered it when
I didn't want to stop worshiping, when I didn't want
the worship service in I wanted to keep going. I'm questioning,
why does everybody have to leave? Why don't we just
make this an.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
All night.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
And so that passion I knew that was placed in
me by God for a reason, which means I'm called
to music. But I'm called to music as a ministry,
not just Oh I get to be expressive in this
according to how I feel it's more of I get
to be prophetic, according to how I'm.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Led to play or led.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
To evoke what the spirit is doing through the instrument.
So in that case, the instrument could be myself, which
obviously the vocal boards or the instrument could be whatever
instrument I'm on at the top. So I believe that

(11:42):
it's who I am as a worshiper that led me
to understand what my call was. Sitting in that and
not wanting to leave out of it.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
That's where it hits. Yeah, it doesn't sound like you
ran from your purpose. I did. He did.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Oh oh oh if oh, way, okay.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Tell us about that. Okay, all right, so let's get
into it.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
I mean, we get into the raw, right. Yeah. I
didn't want religion. I was tired of religion. I was
tired of hearing people say one thing but do another.
I was tired of biblical references but no fruit from
a life transformed. And I didn't want to go down
those paths. So I only saw what I didn't want

(12:31):
for myself. I didn't want to follow someone who wasn't
what I was assuming at the time was christ Like.
So I didn't have a place to fit in the
ministry and be groomed and prepared for you know, the
gospel teacher. And unfortunately I wasn't receiving truth when I

(12:55):
heard it because I didn't see people receiving truth either.
So as I was stealing that tube in my heart,
I was dealing with having reservations of wanting to press
forward or go back to the preeces of Chicago, because
that's where I stated, I'm having a change in the
direction that I'm going, but I don't know why because

(13:19):
no one else around me is really following them that
I want to see people follow based on where my
heart is. At the same time, if I go back,
then I'm most comfortable. So all said, I had some
challenges with answering the call and walking because I stayed

(13:40):
in the corridor for quite some time because I didn't
see what I wanted to see, and that was the
real Jesus. And when I saw that in the ministry
I'm a part of now, that's when I locked in
and I said, they don't care about where I'm going.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
They just know Jesus and they know that he's going
to change me.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
So that trans information took place after the running because
I found what I was looking for and the people
that I do ministry in life.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
With now.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Absolutely wow. So that transformation part was was real for you.
So after seeing the version of Christians that we see today,
you know, the once save, always save.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Type of Christian.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
And honestly, man, I was that type of Christian for
a long time, just not knowing truth and until I
started reading and studying for myself and listening to certain
passions who don't sugarcoat you know. I always told my
wife like, man, you know, the feel good Christian you know,
I mean to feel good preaching is okay, but I
really need some convicting sometimes I really need somebody to

(14:50):
call me out and hold me accountable.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Man, you know, especially if you're the high priest in
your home, you know, you got to sit yourself apart.
The world makes it look like, oh, don't do that.
You're a laying, you're a square. But man, once we
look past the world and start looking towards Heaven and
what's to come, I won't say the decision is easier,
but you know, well, the decision is easier.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
It's just the life is not. You know.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Some people think, oh, once you become a Christian, you know,
you get the golden ticket and everything is easy peasy.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Man. Let me tell you, man, when I made my decision, everything.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Fell apart, telling me everything every single thing.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
But man, you know, so once.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
You grab a hold of your purpose, did you know
your next steps? Like, how did you trust God through
this season of transformation?

Speaker 1 (15:50):
If you told me, then I would have probably turned
around transparency. He kept it from me for a reason.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
He knew that I was going to trust him, but
he knew I was going to be uncomfortable with not knowing.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
You know, I had a lot of pride and ego.
I had to let go of a part of my.

Speaker 6 (16:10):
Running coming from the streets of Chicago. The pride was
stay on the street block and call it yours, out
of which most times you're not even taxes for. But okay,
now you know you call it yours and you represent
it to the police. Died for So coming out of
that environment to where now you are, meek and mild,

(16:32):
that's going to take some time. So all said, each
moment that I pursued by walk say, it was.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Not easy knowing.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
That he had the agenda for me and I didn't
have it right in front of him, because now I
had to really roll. And that was a part of
my humility, and that was a part of my service,
was to relinquish control and allow the scripture to work
in me. You know, some people try to work the scripture,
they try to work the word, but the word doesn't

(17:11):
end them. And that humility aspect relinquals that control was
allowing me to bear my cross, to kill the flesh off.
And along with that humility, Now I'm walking by faith
and not by sight, which means that I trust. So

(17:31):
now I can call him the Lord because it needs me.
It didn't just save me. Now now he's leading me.
He got it, and I haven't no choice but to
rely on him, and it will be very info a
Then I step out of alignment with that because it's
obvious that I'm moving with concerns.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Of will I fall? Do you got me? You know
which direction? Are we going?

Speaker 6 (17:57):
At no ends until I show up up And then
at the end of it, people are celebrating around me
and I'm looking, I'm they're all doing that was that
was that was scary, and so I think a lot
of it was coming from fear to faith. That was

(18:17):
that was the hard part. For the fear was sometimes
so enveloping that I just I broke And it was
there in those moments where I really asked, are you
with me? Is this the path that you have for me,
because it doesn't feel comfortable. I'm uneasy, but then it

(18:43):
coming to fruition every time the way that it was prophesied,
because the word says built my faith, and then afterwards
I'm immovable when it comes to time, make these next
moves because the confidence is my Father has me, and
not I'm gonna follow my face. I would prefer to
fall walking forward the man fall walking away any.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Any day, amen, Amen, Man, I was just reading yesterday,
do to run me thirty one, verse six, and it
says be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or
tremble at them. For the lawyer God is the one
who goes with you. He will not fail you or
forsake you.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Manm Arson.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Speaking of Arsenal, So your name, man, I love the
full armor of God.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I love that. So your name. Tell us about the
history of your name.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
I tried to change it both times, really trying to
change it.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I was like, no, somebody else's name arsen.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
Like honestly, but all caps buying the appointment it was
given based on the fact that He gave me the
ability to retain scripture. This is an example that you communicate. No,
I don't know the Bible verbatim, but I do know

(20:14):
and have a lot of scripture that I can brad
in a moment's time speak And I'm communicating scripture under
my breath in the midst of adversity, or just walking
throughout the day, confirming my faith to myself and.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Declaring who I am, or even in prayer.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
So I have no choice but to acknowledge the fact
that the gifting that placed in me to retain this information.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Part of my calling and teacher my fel not.

Speaker 6 (20:46):
A pastor, not a prophet of evangelism, I can evangelize.
I'm able to move and operate in many different gifts,
but the one of the teacher, this comes out organically.
So that's just the part of the gifting is paying

(21:07):
information in order to teach it to others. So arsenal
comes in now that it's on music. As I'm writing,
I'm not going for entertainment.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
First. I know I could very.

Speaker 6 (21:20):
Well write any way, shape or form that I hear
someone if someone is doing it in the art, my
pencil can move or my pain can move in that
same direction. But the obedience is God wants me to
move direction for the purpose.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
And I think that's the most challenging part of this.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
The name arsenal is that I know what I'm capable of,
but I have to wait on him to tell me
which direction to go, and sometimes it's not the most convenient. Lord,
they're writing like this. Nowadays, I can write like that
and just let me do it. This sounds antiquated, this
sounds you know, they may not follow this, But I

(22:08):
have to trust the process.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
And there's a cornerstone that's set for Arson.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
Along with the fact that there's a lot of scripture
that's going to be jammed into these bars, there's also
going to a lot of different styles music coming out
of as well, and so I also have to be patient.
So I land on the track that I really am
vibe in with and I like how that sounds. I
can't stay in that vein too long and excellent. So

(22:42):
it's making truth music that inspires soul to go towards
God and final levels, and I can't tell him how
he's to do that. I just have to be a
vessel that's willing to write it according to the music
composure that he has put in front of me and

(23:06):
delivered it as such, because it's ultimately his business and
not mine. So if he says, pack the box with
what I have in there for these people, I can't say, well,
they like chocolate, they don't like, you know, fruit, and
pack the box that they're getting chocolate. Now, everybody's ordering chocolate.

(23:31):
They got they got chocolate over here. They go to
the store every day. I don't want him to say,
all right, you know what, I'll find somebody hm, because
everybody's serving chocolate. But what about when he asks me
the prudent, are you going to be obedient to do
that and not follow the ways of massive to be different?

(23:53):
Set apart? But that's what holiness is. It's set apart
so full transparency. I have so many different ideas that
I don't move on because I was told to release that.
I have so much unreleased music that people probably like,
why don't you release them? He hasn't told me everybody.

(24:14):
So all that said, that's where the arsenal comes in.
I don't know what's going to happen, so that Mike,
I don't even know if that song is.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Going to be released.

Speaker 6 (24:24):
I just know it's recorded, and I do it to
the best of the abilities. That he has in me,
that he's making moves according to spirit inside of me,
and that's all that I can just operate an excell Holyness.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
You know, some people say do the best that I
can do the best.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
That I am able to stay out of his way.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
That's pretty much what I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Absolutely, absolutely, So let's talk about the song.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
You're single.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
It's called to Us You Jesus. You wrote this song
around two am during what you described as a creative
flow state. So what was happening you know, spiritually or
emotionally during that moment.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, that's another other question. Man, a miracle.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
This is what I say, nothing short of a mirror.
I have talents, but I know when my talents are
off and when he is kicking in. And it's humbling
each time because as tears of pouring out of my
eyes because this is a real story, you know, it's
not a matter of oh, this is just metaphorically, Well, no,

(25:42):
it's it's real. I am on my face before the
Lord and he's speaking to me through the music, through
real events that I know that this is my life
that I live. It's ministering to because he's giving me
the words that flow. I don't have to think about, well,

(26:03):
this doesn't wright, well, that doesn't right, well this well this,
this should probably go here. And it's small for that.
That's how I know that. It's him moving and operating.
The pen doesn't stop moving until the song is complete,
and then there's a small finess at the end, small adjustment.
So it's like I get ninety eight percent and then

(26:24):
that little two percent right there. It's just small adjustments
that I need to steward in order to bring about
to me.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
It's a masterpiece that I.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Don't have any wrong that, I don't have any conviction
if I wanted to perform it in front of him,
and I say performant, because you know this is this
is art and we have to repaint it if we
want to do a live. So if I wanted to
do this live, I have no issues because it's it's

(26:56):
gospel truth, what he's doing in my life and what
he's done my life and what he's going to do.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
All right, All right, guys, it's time for some music
till I see Jesus.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
And then we'll be right back with Arsenal. Here we go.
Stay tuned.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
To us that Jesus and the rest from me, y'all
mean me, y'all, and press to cut me across my
flesh got nailed'f indesstru men, the build of losing bros
and persecution.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
They denied me all the way.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
But that's all right.
