The history of work is the historyof life. Whether you live to
work or work to live, youneed to be able to strike a balance
(01:10):
between work and life. That's whywe're here. Knock yourself out of your
comfort zone without losing your day today sanity. Handle pressures and stress like
a pro by creating structures and measuresthat makes your work life super easy.
We are your professional backup, sowelcome to work life balance. Your work
(01:33):
life just got easier. Today we'llbe talking about health and wellness. Health
and wellness such a buzzword health wellness. Everyone knows that without good health you
cannot function properly. Health and wellnessdrive success. That's why you know a
(01:56):
lot of the top leaders in theworld. One of the things that you
notice in most of the top speakers, top leaders all over the world is
that they don't play around with theirbodies, their health, their food,
their nutrition, their sleep. Everythingis kind of organized and well structured.
Well Being can believer rich for businesssuccess. You all know that with your
(02:17):
sound mind, health awareness doesn't juststop at your eating healthy, but having
the right kind of mind, theway you think, your mindset, your
tought patterns, your lifestyle, yourrelationship, your environment. So health awareness
is a very broad topic. Somepeople are very good with good food,
but they're not good with the kindof thought they allow into their minds.
(02:39):
They're not they're not investing into theirmindset, they don't read the right kind
of books, they're not improving themselves, they're not taking stock of their lives.
You all know the very common worldthat a life that is not examined
is not worth living. You haveto examine yourself. Where am I with
my health? Where am I withmy food? Where am I with my
thinking? Where am I with myrelationship? Ships? You know, because
(03:01):
it doesn't just end with you goingto the gym working out for two hours
and then you consume negative materials online. You read the wrong books, you
spend on the wrong people, Youdon't believe in yourself, and all of
this affects your mind, all ofthis affects your health. So well being
brings oneself to higher levels of potential. It brings more presence and power to
(03:25):
businesses or companies. You find outemployees who feel good about themselves do well,
do better, the excel, they'rebetter leaders. When you think good
about yourself, you think good aboutother people. You cannot give what you
do not have, so health awarenessis a very very important topic. However,
(03:46):
I've been able to overcome the dayto day challenges of running a business,
having a family, and also takingcare of myself. Are the areas
that I have to really really takethings seriously. Yes, I did.
For instance, living in Legos,Nigeria, it's a very busy city.
Everyone knows Legos never sleeps, soI had to take the initiative to make
(04:14):
sure that I plan my males. My males are cooked and they are packed
daily. My snacks are packed daily, and most of my snacks are fruits
like I have here in the studio. I have an apple and carrot.
I have two bottles of water. Two bottles of water in my bag,
one in my bag and one inmy lunch bag, so I have one
in my handbag. So there's noexcuse why I should be dehydrated the whole
(04:34):
day. Because I'm busy and I'mworking I'm in and out of meetings.
I had a meeting in Virtual Island, and now I'm in a career.
I have my launch pack here withmy spoon. Everyone's supporting or working in
my team as team members, theyare all around to support me. I
also support them. I support theirvision, I support their mindset. So
when you talk about work life balance, it's not just about you as a
CEO, It's not just you asan employer. You also also have to
(04:58):
include your employees. You also makesure that they're also they're also thriving in
their own personal life even at workas well. And you know, thinking
about health awareness, a lot ofpeople have lost their life early because of
carelessness and lack of discipline. Thelack of discipline for the kind of food,
(05:19):
the way you cook your meals, the amount of oil you consume when
you eat your food, the timeyou go to bed, your use of
social media, exhaustion, going forparties excessively when you know you're tired,
getting over committed to people's engagements, things you know you're not able to keep
up with. You're not able tosay no. You have to learn the
(05:39):
power of no. You have tolearn to say no and you know no.
No doesn't mean you're weaker. Nodoesn't mean you're not nice, but
no means that you're prioritizing. Youknow the time to say yes and you
know when to say no. That'salso part of health awallness. It's been
aware of who you are, beingaware of your body, being aware of
what you want. What do youwant for your life? What kind of
(06:00):
legacy do you want to leave foryour children. When I hire my domestic
workers, they go through a training. My company has is a training company,
so we have different training for differentgroups of people. I teach them
don't just only for leadership, fortheir mindset. I also teach them how
to cook the way I want myfood to be cooked. I cook as
well, and I show them theamount of oil that is allowed in frying
(06:25):
the eggs, the kind of vegetables, how the vegetables should be kept.
And I also count my calories daily. I have to do that. I
walk out, I have my workoutbody, and we keep tabs on each
other. We have accountability partners onthis health awareness journey because you cannot do
it alone, and you need tobe serious about it. You need to
take it seriously because it will affectyour happiness and you affect your marriage,
(06:49):
will affect your sex life, willaffect your business, confidence, will affect
whatever it is that you want todo. Your health is very important.
Take my water, like I said, nonsweetener fruit. I do not consume
priine apple like I consume apples.I eat carrot more often. I take
(07:10):
a lot of cucumbers. I havefruits that I eat at night that some
fruits I don't take at night.I don't think bananas at night except I'm
really hungry and there's no option, and that's once in the red moon.
So I'd rather just blame my cucumberwith my lemon fund for the nighttime and
my green teas, or or Ihave a piece of chicken that is grilled.
If I really have to eat atdinner time and I'm really hungry and
(07:30):
it's lit, it's past seven pm, and I need to eat something.
I paid a lot of coaches.Yes, I know people like free,
people love free. But I paida lot of coaches. I hung out
with a lot of people who eatwell, people who love themselves, who
love their bodies, who want tobe excellent people in the excellent individuals generally
in their life in all aspects oftheir lives as well. People who want
(07:53):
to have a good life, agood life that is positive, a good
life that is inspirational, a goodlike that is very motivating. So I
exposed myself to materials that encourages andchanges my mind about food. Some people
grow up in Africa and different partsof the world where they have taught them
what food is. We haven't taughtin Legos and Enjoyer what food is.
(08:18):
Food in the Injurer is rice. But I've changed my mindset from seeing rice
as the only meal that I caneat. So I had to I had
to read up online, had tochange my mind. I had to grow
myself aside paying the coaches, thecoaches were not the problem. I was
a problem, and I had alot of work to do. What did
I do? I did a lotof research. I went on YouTube.
(08:39):
I read a lot about intermittent.First thing, I had to know what
it is to be to be ableto eat at the popular time and then
to eat some fruit and then eatone meal or you know, like you
in the benefast thing you have totake out a few hours of the day
where you don't eat. You justhave green tea or coffee for that day,
and then by knowing you eat yourmain meal before its PM. Then
(09:01):
I also had different different kinds ofdiet that I tried out, and I
realized that dieting is not that easy. It's better to just have a lifestyle.
So what did I do. Isaid that cooking meals that were healthy
for me and making sure that Ihad enough of them available. Then when
I did that, it didn't workout perfectly well. I now created a
menu around all the meals I wasallowed to eat, so I don't see
(09:22):
rice as the only meal I eat. Queen one sometimes I cook bolger that
those are all grains that you canuse as your rice replacement. For swallows,
I use the eggplant blended in ablender with water and I stare it
for swallow. If you're an African, you understand what swallow is. If
when I knew that that was notworking, because I felt what I was
(09:46):
trying to achieve, I wanted somethingthat was going to be lasting and that
was very effective. So I tookout swallow out to my diet and I'm
very happy. I'm not missing anything. If you're very hungry in the day,
you're listen and a guy like youknow you're very heavy on EBA or
for food or any heavy food. You can try more mind you can try
(10:07):
as soon. You can try chickenand moment. You can have salads,
you can have for dinner. Youcan have pepper soup each pupper soup.
You can have carbage soup. Carbagesoup is very easy to cook. I
got the recipe online and I've beenvery excited about the cabbage soup because it
has chicken in there, and thechicken is just shredded, you know,
and it's grilled. Very healthy. Then, like I said, walking out
(10:31):
going to the gym, if youif you cannot keep up with the gym,
find the walk up body where youtake care of yourself. And then,
like I said, it's not justonly just eating well walking out,
but there's a whole lot that makesyou a healthy, all around, healthy
and well person. During your annualcheckup in the hospital, checking your body,
knowing what you're supposed to be takencare of. I do that as
well every m beginning of the year. Yes, I do that January to
(10:56):
check and do a full body checkup. That's also very very important. Then
to start the day. I tryon settin days to walk out before I
leave or come back in the eveningand then take go for a run.
Or you can do some aerobics inhouse, which from YouTube you can buy
aerobic cities and work out in yourhome. I would love everyone listening to
(11:18):
this to really take action. Takeaction because of your children, Take action
because of your legacy, Take actionbecause we need you here. Take action
because when you walk out, yourelease end of things to your body.
You you you make yourself happy, and your happiness is your responsibility. And
when you're not healthy, when youdon't feel well, you're not you're not
going to be able to perform excellentlyat work or in relationship with I mean,
(11:41):
you're not going to be able toperform excellently at work or in any
kind of relationship. There you findyourself. You know, I know a
lot of women who sometimes go throughchallenges with their partners. You know,
when you find out, you findthat they don't have anything that they do
for themselves. Everything they do isfor other people. So it's either their
working, working for money. Toevening, there's no time to just take
(12:03):
our time, to have your metime, go to the spa, go
to the beach, you know,go out with your friends, you know,
create fun, host people at home, and make sure that you really,
really really write down your taught andlive a very grateful life. So
that's all for now, for healthand wellness. Thank you. Remember,
just because it's paying your bills doesn'tmean it will leave you feeling ill.
(12:28):
