Thanks Dott, appreciate that. Good morning, my friend. Thank you
so much for tuning in flat out a beautiful day
for a radio program. We spoke yesterday about the fact
that in Minnesota and in as many as six other
states there had been cyber attacks on municipal water systems.

These believed to have come from Iran. At that point,
none of the attacks had had significant or serious consequences,
by which I mean either the locals were able to
countermand the sinister controls that the apparent Iranians were trying to,
you know, impose on their water systems, or people were

able to go to fully manual operation or were able
to revert to secondary water sources, and very few people
actually lost water. Well, the news today is that the
number of states affected is now something more than a dozen. Again,
President Trump, when the thing first hit, said that this

was a consequence of incompetence on the part of Tim Walls,
the Minnesota governor. I do not have any confidence in
the competence of Tim Walls. However, I don't think that
he was responsible for screwing up the municipal water in
other states. Whether or not New York is one of
those states, I've not been able to find evidence. I've
(01:41):
made inquiry at the state and I've also reached out
to Monroe County. Maybe I need to reach out to
the Monroe County water Authority. But you know, the deal
is that, you know, the Internet connects a lot of things,
and it provides trem and his blessings, but you know
(02:03):
it also can create vulnerabilities, and you know, we are
in a situation of war, and the notion that the
other guys would try to do something bad to us
is certainly within the realm of possibility. Going out to

already flared up here at camp, and I like it.

They've been beating on each other here for four or
five days. Uh, and it boils over. It happens everywhere.
The Bills aren't the first nor the last team, but
they can't wait for the first preseason game, so they
can take a little bit of this angst out on
an opponent rather than each other.

Very large, very young men, lots of natural testosterone, playing
a game of fundamental violence, all of them fighting for
I mean, like, if I don't make the team, I
don't have a job. If I do make the team,
I might become a millionaire and beset me and my
family for life. I can see where the conflict in

the anger comes from.

It's a great point, the competitive juices. They're playing for
their livelihood, they're paying for a playing for a paycheck,
they're playing to take care of their family. And we're
talking about life altering money. In fact, for some players,
generational money.

Right right right their this is their ladder up and
again not to overplay the drama of this, but they
have been on this path since they're probably ten to eleven
or twelve, right.

Some Yeah, absolutely, some have been playing football, maybe even sooner.

But that's a good start.

And for some players this may be their last chance, yeah,
playing football.

interesting deal. The uh, it's a heartbreaking deal. This is
what it is is. There are a lot of wildfires
in the West. You know, we of course had smoke

here a couple weeks back from the fires in northern Ontario.
Much of the western United States is just like us,
getting sporadic bits of wildfire smoke, just like that, and
worse it coming primarily from fires in our country in
the United States. But where the smoke comes from is

where there's a lot of heat red stuff and terrible
destruction the forest burns down. That's a heartbreak, but it
is part of nature, and nature and time will rebound
just fine. But we're in a situation now, especially up
you mentioned here in Washington State, where communities are kind
of burning down. Thus far, seven hundred buildings or homes

have been lost. Spokane, Washington State's second largest city, has
not yet, I don't believe, been hit proper, but suburban
communities have been hit, some of them devastatingly. Some sixty
thousand people have been evacuated up there, and there has
been an arrest. One of the fires was started allegedly
(09:14):
by an arsonist turns out to be an ex con.
The governor of Washington Estay was rant and raven about
climate change, climate change, climate change. But you throw in
an arsenist with a little bit of climate change, I
guess you can have a calamity like this. I just
want to point out that the Palisades Fire in California
(09:37):
was initially started by an arsonist. There was some subsequent
you know, the fire was not probably extinguished, but you know,
hundreds and hundreds of homes were lost with a fire
that initially started with an arsenist in California, not all
of Los Angeles, but the Palisades Fire, and now this
(09:58):
second one up. I spoke ane. It empowers very small,
very ef people, evil people to do a staggering amount
of damage, no doubt about that. You need to take
a break. Then we've got to touch on explosive diarrhea.

Jack and a co worker two of his tomorrow want
to Hiache the Grand Teeton climb to its top. They've
been kind of training and practicing preparing for this for
a while. They're working at a resort up in the
mountains of Idaho. At any rate, the plan was today

they will hike and establish a base camp, and then
tomorrow they will make their ascent on this mountain, and
at any rate, the base camp, this being a national
forest or park or whatever it is, requires a permit.
The permits are issued by the ranger at the ranger station,

and so they, having driven through the night last night,
or at least a portion of it, thought that their
best chance of getting a permit was being first in
line this morning. And they figured that the best way
to be first in line this morning was to sleep
in front of the door at the ranger station, and
so they rolled out their sleeping bags and slept there
(12:36):
on the ranger's porch, and the ranger this morning agreed
with their thinking and gave them the first camping permit
of the day. And they are now headed out to
where they have decided they'd like to put up their
base camp. So at any rate that adventure continues, and
in the spirit of hiking. You know, my daughter Sophie
(12:59):
she and her family have moved up here from Nashville
and their house is gonna close. They're purchasing one here
another couple three weeks, and so they're staying with us
till then. We're having a lot of fun together. One
of the you know, I mentioned earlier that my three boys, Sam,
Scott and Robbie yesterday went to the emergency room down
(13:21):
at Noy's Hospital in Dansville at the direction of the
Livingston County Health Department. Wonderful people at both places, and
they got their start their little rabies exposure shots. Well,
there are three little grandsons who also sleeping in the
room where the bat was flitting around. Today they go
and they get their rabies shots. So at any rate,
(13:43):
these six young men of varying ages are all part
of Team Rabies and they're pretty excited about that. But
speaking of hiking, there is my daughter Sophie found this
Saturday down in of Letchworth. There's this company that travels
around the country called Mammoth March and they put on,
(14:07):
you know, fifty mile hikes, and you know, it's a
business and they do this to make money. But it's
an interesting sort of deal. Now my thinking is we
could like go to a trail and hike twenty miles
any time we want and not have to pay anybody anything. Right, However,
there is fun in being part of an event. And
(14:29):
so Sophie and her husband and I early Saturday morning,
we'll get up and we will when told to start
down the trail by the people running the Mammoth March,
we will start down the trail. And it's an you
want Like I have to talk to my daughter and
asked the question, okay, now this march, do we all
(14:52):
hike together? Or because like you are young and healthy
and I am old, fast and still healthy, but you
know you are you slowing down?

Do we just say goodbye and meet happy at the

At any rate? When you run, you run by yourself usually,

little stat I came across yesterday when I was young.
Florence Griffith Joiner set one hundred meter world record for
women ten ten and forty nine one hundred seconds, just
under ten and a half seconds. Florence Griffith Joiner was
a massive star, beloved by all. She just had. She

was just excellent in what she did and impressive in
who she was. Everybody liked her flow. Joe was the nickname,
and her record a generation later still stands untouched. Right,
and God bless her. I mean, of course she would
have a long standing record. That's who she was, as
her quality, her character. Again, a huge star, much beloved

in the day, Florence Griffith Joiner. This spring, in boys'
high school track across the country, somewhere around one thousand
young men ran one hundred meters faster than Florence Griffith Joiner. Right,
somewhere about a thousand high school boys can run one

hundred meters faster than that on any given year. Let
me ask you, in this new world of ours, if
one of those one thousand boys decided that he was
a girl, right, don't call me Bill, call me Betty.
If one of those identified as a girl and went

to the coach and said I'm a girl now, that
boy would become the first time he ran one hundred
meters the world record holder and the fastest woman runner
ever under the laws of the State of New York.
Under the you know orthodoxy of the American progressive movement,

Rochester area. But between now and then they are back
in film study and with meetings for whatever position, meetings,

That is mister John Detulio. I want to for half
a moment, I want to say something. Over in Ohio
there is a little bit of a brew ha haa
going on and it involves a Republican congressman over there.
I don't know his name. I don't care enough to
(20:46):
learn he is the former son in law of a
Republican senator over there. Again, I don't know his name.
I don't care enough to learn. It's interesting that you
would have a father in law and son in law
of both in Congress from one state. I'm sure that's
based completely on individual merit right and not any kind
(21:09):
of family pull or strings like that. But the deal
is the son in law is divorced now from the
senator's daughter, and it was not a happy divorce. And
the deal is that we're coming up on a deadline
for candidates to withdraw themselves from the ballot in a
(21:31):
fashion that allows them to be comfortably replaced by their party,
and there is pressure on this congressman, the former son
in law, to withdraw from the election, the reason being
that the former wife, the daughter of the senator, has
accused him of domestic violence. And you know, I don't
(21:52):
know what happened. I wasn't there, you weren't there. He
the congressman, however, has released a little video where he
looks at the camera and you know, makes his case
or I didn't do it, and none of this has
ever been proved or whatever, And again, who knows what happens.
But one of his arguments was in this video that
(22:15):
there was a specific instance of violence, domestic violence which
was alleged, and then there's a record. I don't know
if it's a message or whatever or whatever, but six
days later she had either offered to make him dinner
or had made him dinner, whatever. But his argument was,
(22:39):
if I had done anything wrong, would she cook me dinner?
If I had abused her, would she cook me dinner?
And his argument was that of course she wouldn't. And
because she cooked me dinner, we naturally can deduce that
these accusations against me are wrong and that I did
(23:00):
abuse her. Well, I don't know what happened between him
and her, but it's a preposterous assertion. I'm not in
the expert on domestic violence or anything else like that.
You know, I grew up in home where there was
domestic violence a rather significant degree. I've witnessed it, been
(23:21):
the victim of it. Again, doesn't make the expert on
it by any means. It was a long time ago,
and like I said, I'm not expert. But when people
are victims of domestic violence, sometimes the human mind will
convince them that they are at fault. Sometimes their abuser
will try to convince them that they're at fault, and
sometimes victims of domestic violence will seek to curry favor
(23:46):
or to get back in the good graces of the abuser. Oh,
clearly I've done something wrong, and so absolutely one would
potentially cook you dinner, engage in an act of family service.
Sometimes people who are victims of domestic violence fear additional
(24:08):
domestic violence. If he gets mad or she gets mad,
he or she will beat the hell out of me,
And so you become very solicitous. You enter into a
situation of servitude where you'll do anything you know that
you think they want so that you can try to
avoid having the hell beat out of you. And that
(24:29):
little pronoun thing there, you know in the Lifetime movies
it's men who are domestic violence perpetrators, And absolutely men
are domestic violence perpetrators. But the odd and surprising statistic
is that the largest number of domestic violence incidents are
perpetrated by women. So this is a knife that cuts
(24:50):
both ways, and evil knows no gender, to be honest
with you, but so, fearing further violence, would a a
domestic violence victim cook someone dinner absolutely right. Also, domestic
violence victims are often you know, you came to this relationship,
(25:12):
either you were born into it or you married into it,
and so you are invested in it. You hope for it,
and domestic violence victims will often hope that Okay, this
is he's overcoming it, she's overcoming it. This was a
one time thing. Okay, no, that was the last time.
It's not going to happen again. And so you will
(25:34):
put more into the relationship, hoping that somehow the evil
can be cured or removed and you can go forward
in a healthy, loving way. And so might you cook dinner?
Absolutely so. Again I'm not sure what this has to
do with the congressman, but his notion that if you
abused someone, they wouldn't cook you dinner is you know, preposterous, right,

And you know used to be you know, Oh, my
thought on domestic violence was get the hell out, Get
the hell out. And that is easy to say. It's
very easy to say, give it a shot, go ahead,
say yourself, get the hell out. The words fall from
your lips. But you know the reality is it's very
hard to do, and it's a very challenging thing. And
those who are victims of domestic violence or or domestic
(26:20):
abuse of any sorts. You're in my thoughts, in my prayers,
and you know, God bless you and whatever you have
to do, and if you can get free, if you
can get out, man oh man, I think a lot
of people will tell you that that's a good thing

that in Minnesota and in as many as six other
states there had been cyber attacks on municipal water systems.

These believed to have come from Iran. At that point,
none of the attacks had had significant or serious consequences,
by which I mean either the locals were able to
countermand the sinister controls that the apparent Iranians were trying to,
you know, impose on their water systems, or people were

able to go to fully manual operation or were able
to revert to secondary water sources, and very few people
actually lost water. Well, the news today is that the
number of states affected is now something more than a dozen. Again,
President Trump, when the thing first hit, said that this

was a consequence of incompetence on the part of Tim Walls,
the Minnesota governor. I do not have any confidence in
the competence of Tim Walls. However, I don't think that
he was responsible for screwing up the municipal water in
other states. Whether or not New York is one of
those states, I've not been able to find evidence. I've
(01:41):
made inquiry at the state and I've also reached out
to Monroe County. Maybe I need to reach out to
the Monroe County water Authority. But you know, the deal
is that, you know, the Internet connects a lot of things,
and it provides trem and his blessings, but you know

it also can create vulnerabilities, and you know, we are
in a situation of war, and the notion that the
other guys would try to do something bad to us
is certainly within the realm of possibility. Going out to

It's a great point, the competitive juices. They're playing for

what it is is. There are a lot of wildfires
in the West. You know, we of course had smoke

Much of the western United States is just like us,
getting sporadic bits of wildfire smoke, just like that, and
worse it coming primarily from fires in our country in
the United States. But where the smoke comes from is

where there's a lot of heat red stuff and terrible
destruction the forest burns down. That's a heartbreak, but it
is part of nature, and nature and time will rebound
just fine. But we're in a situation now, especially up
you mentioned here in Washington State, where communities are kind
of burning down. Thus far, seven hundred buildings or homes

have been lost. Spokane, Washington State's second largest city, has
not yet, I don't believe, been hit proper, but suburban
communities have been hit, some of them devastatingly. Some sixty
thousand people have been evacuated up there, and there has
been an arrest. One of the fires was started allegedly

by an arsonist turns out to be an ex con.
The governor of Washington Estay was rant and raven about
climate change, climate change, climate change. But you throw in
an arsenist with a little bit of climate change, I
guess you can have a calamity like this. I just
want to point out that the Palisades Fire in California

was initially started by an arsonist. There was some subsequent
you know, the fire was not probably extinguished, but you know,
hundreds and hundreds of homes were lost with a fire
that initially started with an arsenist in California, not all
of Los Angeles, but the Palisades Fire, and now this

second one up. I spoke ane. It empowers very small,
very ef people, evil people to do a staggering amount
of damage, no doubt about that. You need to take

Jack and a co worker two of his tomorrow want
to Hiache the Grand Teeton climb to its top. They've
been kind of training and practicing preparing for this for
a while. They're working at a resort up in the
mountains of Idaho. At any rate, the plan was today

they will hike and establish a base camp, and then
tomorrow they will make their ascent on this mountain, and
at any rate, the base camp, this being a national
forest or park or whatever it is, requires a permit.
The permits are issued by the ranger at the ranger station,

and so they, having driven through the night last night,
or at least a portion of it, thought that their
best chance of getting a permit was being first in
line this morning. And they figured that the best way
to be first in line this morning was to sleep
in front of the door at the ranger station, and
so they rolled out their sleeping bags and slept there
(12:36):
on the ranger's porch, and the ranger this morning agreed
with their thinking and gave them the first camping permit
of the day. And they are now headed out to
where they have decided they'd like to put up their
base camp. So at any rate that adventure continues, and
in the spirit of hiking. You know, my daughter Sophie
(12:59):
she and her family have moved up here from Nashville
and their house is gonna close. They're purchasing one here
another couple three weeks, and so they're staying with us
till then. We're having a lot of fun together. One
of the you know, I mentioned earlier that my three boys, Sam,
Scott and Robbie yesterday went to the emergency room down

at Noy's Hospital in Dansville at the direction of the
Livingston County Health Department. Wonderful people at both places, and
they got their start their little rabies exposure shots. Well,
there are three little grandsons who also sleeping in the
room where the bat was flitting around. Today they go
and they get their rabies shots. So at any rate,

these six young men of varying ages are all part
of Team Rabies and they're pretty excited about that. But
speaking of hiking, there is my daughter Sophie found this
Saturday down in of Letchworth. There's this company that travels
around the country called Mammoth March and they put on,

you know, fifty mile hikes, and you know, it's a
business and they do this to make money. But it's
an interesting sort of deal. Now my thinking is we
could like go to a trail and hike twenty miles
any time we want and not have to pay anybody anything. Right, However,
there is fun in being part of an event. And

so Sophie and her husband and I early Saturday morning,
we'll get up and we will when told to start
down the trail by the people running the Mammoth March,
we will start down the trail. And it's an you
want Like I have to talk to my daughter and
asked the question, okay, now this march, do we all

hike together? Or because like you are young and healthy
and I am old, fast and still healthy, but you
know you are you slowing down?

high school track across the country, somewhere around one thousand

That is mister John Detulio. I want to for half
a moment, I want to say something. Over in Ohio
there is a little bit of a brew ha haa
going on and it involves a Republican congressman over there.
I don't know his name. I don't care enough to
(20:46):
learn he is the former son in law of a
Republican senator over there. Again, I don't know his name.
I don't care enough to learn. It's interesting that you
would have a father in law and son in law
of both in Congress from one state. I'm sure that's
based completely on individual merit right and not any kind
(21:09):
of family pull or strings like that. But the deal
is the son in law is divorced now from the
senator's daughter, and it was not a happy divorce. And
the deal is that we're coming up on a deadline
for candidates to withdraw themselves from the ballot in a
(21:31):
fashion that allows them to be comfortably replaced by their party,
and there is pressure on this congressman, the former son
in law, to withdraw from the election, the reason being
that the former wife, the daughter of the senator, has
accused him of domestic violence. And you know, I don't
(21:52):
know what happened. I wasn't there, you weren't there. He
the congressman, however, has released a little video where he
looks at the camera and you know, makes his case
or I didn't do it, and none of this has
ever been proved or whatever, And again, who knows what happens.
But one of his arguments was in this video that
(22:15):
there was a specific instance of violence, domestic violence which
was alleged, and then there's a record. I don't know
if it's a message or whatever or whatever, but six
days later she had either offered to make him dinner
or had made him dinner, whatever. But his argument was,
(22:39):
if I had done anything wrong, would she cook me dinner?
If I had abused her, would she cook me dinner?
And his argument was that of course she wouldn't. And
because she cooked me dinner, we naturally can deduce that
these accusations against me are wrong and that I did
(23:00):
abuse her. Well, I don't know what happened between him
and her, but it's a preposterous assertion. I'm not in
the expert on domestic violence or anything else like that.
You know, I grew up in home where there was
domestic violence a rather significant degree. I've witnessed it, been
(23:21):
the victim of it. Again, doesn't make the expert on
it by any means. It was a long time ago,
and like I said, I'm not expert. But when people
are victims of domestic violence, sometimes the human mind will
convince them that they are at fault. Sometimes their abuser
will try to convince them that they're at fault, and
sometimes victims of domestic violence will seek to curry favor
(23:46):
or to get back in the good graces of the abuser. Oh,
clearly I've done something wrong, and so absolutely one would
potentially cook you dinner, engage in an act of family service.
Sometimes people who are victims of domestic violence fear additional
(24:08):
domestic violence. If he gets mad or she gets mad,
he or she will beat the hell out of me,
And so you become very solicitous. You enter into a
situation of servitude where you'll do anything you know that
you think they want so that you can try to
avoid having the hell beat out of you. And that
(24:29):
little pronoun thing there, you know in the Lifetime movies
it's men who are domestic violence perpetrators, And absolutely men
are domestic violence perpetrators. But the odd and surprising statistic
is that the largest number of domestic violence incidents are
perpetrated by women. So this is a knife that cuts
(24:50):
both ways, and evil knows no gender, to be honest
with you, but so, fearing further violence, would a a
domestic violence victim cook someone dinner absolutely right. Also, domestic
violence victims are often you know, you came to this relationship,
(25:12):
either you were born into it or you married into it,
and so you are invested in it. You hope for it,
and domestic violence victims will often hope that Okay, this
is he's overcoming it, she's overcoming it. This was a
one time thing. Okay, no, that was the last time.
It's not going to happen again. And so you will
(25:34):
put more into the relationship, hoping that somehow the evil
can be cured or removed and you can go forward
in a healthy, loving way. And so might you cook dinner?
Absolutely so. Again I'm not sure what this has to
do with the congressman, but his notion that if you
abused someone, they wouldn't cook you dinner is you know, preposterous, right,

And you know used to be you know, Oh, my
thought on domestic violence was get the hell out, Get
the hell out. And that is easy to say. It's
very easy to say, give it a shot, go ahead,
say yourself, get the hell out. The words fall from
your lips. But you know the reality is it's very
hard to do, and it's a very challenging thing. And
those who are victims of domestic violence or or domestic
(26:20):
abuse of any sorts. You're in my thoughts, in my prayers,
and you know, God bless you and whatever you have
to do, and if you can get free, if you
can get out, man oh man, I think a lot
of people will tell you that that's a good thing
