of marijuana at farmers' markets. Now, I hate to be
a predictable stick in the mud, and I hate to
offend my stoner friends, But do we have to sell

marijuana everywhere? Do we have to smell skunk weed every
place we go? Is there no respite? Is there no break?
And there are dispensaries and you've got all sorts of stuff.
Maybe they should have like bars where you're allowed to
smoke marijuana. But a farmer's market is where you take
your kids. Half the people at farmers markets or Grandma's.

You go there for the local honey. You go there
to buy some cinema rolls from the amish lady. You
go there to get some nice corn on the cob,
maybe some mazucchinis and tomatoes. Farmers' markets are wholesome and
comfortable and with respect for some people. Marijuana is not
wholesome and comfortable. And what you do is you end

up excluding people from farmers' markets. And the people you
exclude from farmers' markets are the people who would traditionally
be most typical to go there. Marijuana need not pervade
every You don't let micro breweries go to a farmer's markets.
You don't let people sell cans of beer there. You
don't let the little breweries and sideries and distilleries go there.

So why marijuana? The answer is it's lost for tax dollars.

Yeah, it's been uh yes, busy week, but yes, it's
been actually busy year.

I imagine before we get to the what, let's get
to why uh you put up a lot of money
to help make this possible? Why is that, sir?

We do so? This is our third time that we've
had the privilege of uh, you know, being involved with
the with the uh the air show, and you know,
it's it's a wonderful community event. You know, we've been
we've been part of the community for thirty five years
and uh we've supported so many u you know, different

uh you know, different things that we have come to
Rochester are different causes, different organizations, but you know, this one,
this one has a has a really big meaning for us.
As most know that know my company or myself, we
are huge first responder supporters and we are definitely very
very huge supporters of our military, the men and women
(03:02):
of our military. So I mean for what it means,
it's it's hard to put into words, but you know,
we we never imagined that at some point in my
career that I would have this opportunity to do something like,
you know, to be in a position to do something
like this. But it's uh, this event is bigger than
just having AP's name on it, you know. It's uh,
(03:23):
this is about families coming together, kids kids, seeing these
what our military is capable of and what it's all about,
and honoring the men and women of this country, you know,
creating a memory memory for people to talk about this
is the probably the every time responsor this as this
most meaningful times in my life. I also want to
(03:44):
let you know that I have on with us Ed Shram,
the promoter of the air show, as well. You know,
one of the things that always sit with me, Bob,
I like to share with everybody. And I literally brought
tears in my eyes as the first air show that
I have responsored as the jets went over and you
had a large you know, get a lump in your
in your chest and uh, the air boss said, and

I turned out to cry. When I tell you, buddy,
he said, ladies and gentlemen, that is the sound of freedom.

And that hit.

Me like no words have ever ever hit me before.
It was I don't know, like I said, I'm getting
choked up talking about it now, but it's incredible.

the Air Force Thunderbird is going to be in town, huge,
huge stuff, mister Shram. What can we expect at the
air show?

Please, Well, you're going to expect the largest air show
ever to hit Rochester, New York. We have more planes.
We have a huge selection of military planes this year.
And part of that reason is because, as you know,
the troops have been moving around in a mutual aid
fashion across the US because of the Middle East, and

the plane and its pilot have to fly so many hours,
and many of them have asked if we would host
them for the weekend, and we of course said yes,
so they come to our Rochester Air Show. We will
have more planes on the ground and in the air
than we have ever experienced here in Rochester, New York.
And we're very proud of that. And I also want
(05:25):
to mention that a lot of the Thunderbirds went to
Ontario Country Club and Pub on the Green and as
Sean hosted them for one whole day to play golf
and just relax.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
They by the way, tonight from seven to nine, well,
the Thunderbirds will be at the Public Market. They got
some music out there as well. Great opportunity to I
don't know, get autographs, posts for pictures, take your kids
and introduce them to American heroes. That'll be by Rock
Lobster at the Public Market. So among the there are
a lot of static displays and there are aerial presentations.

What are some of the static displays that might be there.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Well, We're going to have the C one thirty there.
We've got the F thirty five B jump jet, which
is the if you will, the new version of the
Harrier jet. We've got. We've also got history here, Bob.
We've got the Tuskegee Museum here, which the whole story
of those pilots is incredible, and they will be bringing
(06:30):
their P fifty one a plane will actually be there.
There will be about about twenty eight planes on the
runway for people to actually look at. We also have
a Chinook helicopter. We have a Blackhawk out here. We
just have planes everywhere.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
When does it run? Please? Where is it? What's it cost?
Speaker 4 (06:57):
The time? We open the gates here to the air
show at ninth thirty both Saturday and Sunday the ninth,
and it closes at six o'clock at night. The planes
will start flying at ten o'clock in the morning. We
have the Golden Jets here. They will be doing their demonstration.
(07:21):
They'll be doing a Tanem jump. We will also be
using the Golden Knights, because what's special about this? Most
Saturday and Sunday at eleven o'clock. We're going to be
kicking off what is the Honor Parade. And we put
this together because we need to honor those people who
have helped build this country and give us the freedom
(07:44):
we have today. And this honor parade, kicking off at
eleven inside the airport, will first of all feature the
Keystone pipe of drum, but then it will have I
have thirty two World War two veterans, Korean War veterans,
the Riveters, the gold Star Mothers, and the Vietnam veterans.

And that parade is going to be going to the
air Boss tower and the Golden Knights will be jumping
out with the American flag. And as that flag unfurls
and comes to the ground, it will be caught by
the Civil Air Patrol. And while that just hits that
Civil Air Patrol and they start flying it, we're going
to have a three plane flyover. The first plane will

be decorated in the colors of the camouflage, if you will,
for World War Two and the Korean War. The second
plane is going to represent the Vietnam veterans, and they
have underneath the wings and very large letters pow M
I A to honor those who didn't come home. The
third plane will be in the colors of the American flag.

Are guests into hangar number three and will be providing

Certainly Tomorrow night is the big Blue Red scrimmage at
the new Stadium. But I think just the fact they're
going to remain here. Pete Gwelling, President Business Operations, emphatically
says the Bills plan on not going anywhere.

But Fisher for saying for training camp at least in the.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Future, Yeah, we are extremely blessed. I mean, they have
an extraordinary practice facility of their own. This is slightly disruptive.
Every day they come here is doing us a favor.

It's incredible and I think Saint John Fisher provides the
perfect backdrop for camp.

It's it's the perfect venue.

And again, only seven teams go away in the NFL,
and we're fortunate that Buffalo still Leaves Orchard Park. They've
been doing it for many, many years, and they're going
to continue to do that in the future.

Is it is Tyler Bass? Is that the name of
the kicker?
Speaker 7 (11:23):
He is the He is the placekicker. Did not kick
at all. He was injured last year. But right now
he is the only place kicker in camp for Buffalo.

And yesterday he rolled out and a lot of folks looking,
thinking and talking.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
How does he look? That's a great question.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
He looks fine, but listen, he's got to perform his numbers.
When you look at his statistics, he's not the best kicker.
He ranks near the bottom. So I think there's a
lot of stress, a lot of pressure. I think he'll
come out of camp as the kicker, but I think Bobby,
he'll be on a short lease as this season unfold.

One hundred percent. That's the great. John Detulia will be

know nothing about sports or the Bills, but they, of
course have an extraordinary facility in Buffalo. They have a
new stadium with features for the athletes that obviously are

the very best available anywhere used to be. They came
here to try to build the Rochester audience, to expand
the brand, but the years of needing to do that
have long since passed. The Buffalo Bills are gigantic Bill's mafia,
if that's what you call it, Folks who have got

the red, white and Blue in their heart. It's a
massive fan base. They don't have to worry about selling tickets,
and so you know, coming out here a fair distance
from where you know the players lived during the season,
where the coaches lived during the season, it's an interesting,
almost a relic from another day, but it is a

tremendous blessing to as you know better than I, Buffalo
Bills fans who want to go out there and see
a channel WKBW whatever that is in Buffalo. Did a
little story the other day, just an illustration one of
the blessings. There's a gentleman and I can't remember his name.
I apologize. He's about forty or so, not that it's relevant,

but he has down syndrome and for nineteen years he
has volunteered at the mini camp here and is just
a positive person feels close to the players, and the
players feel close to him. The whole story kind of
(13:51):
broke for Buffalo TV because anytime poor oh Josh Allen
walks anywhere with any kind of camera is got it
on him, because you never know something viral could happen.
I guess they're thinking. And in this situation, mister Allen
is just walking. He's got his uniform like he's doing.
(14:12):
He's going to the workout, and there's a gentleman walk
in the opposite direction, and the gentleman just sort of,
you know, taps a little bit on the arm and
a greeting and passing. No stop, look, just they're walking
opposite ways. And then you see that Josh Allen as
they pass. He's got recognition and he oh, and he
(14:32):
turns around, stops and hails the man and goes over
and gives him a hug. And it is that gentleman
who lives here in the Rochester area and who again
for nineteen years, has been a volunteer at Mini Camp.
There are thousands and tens of thousands of experiences like that,
happy moments, happy people like that. And that's just one

small bit of what that train camp here in our
neck of the woods does. And we have extraordinary gratitude
to the Buffalo Bills. It's an honor, honor to be

A dumb question. I hope it's not inappropriate to ask
who pays who to make this happen. Do the bills
pay the university for the space, or does the university

That's a great question. I was always under the impression
I was told in the past it was the bills
get paid, say John Fisher, is that the same deal?
Because a lot of the upgrades that happened here the
Bills did pay for. There's no question they paid for
a lot of the upgrades. So this is it's great
for Fisher, it's great for branding. I think it helps

in their overall image. But the Bills are the ones
that are writing the checks, at least from what I
was told in the past.

Yeah, in terms of Fisher, this has to be huge.

Right Mammoth, listen, do the Bills. Maybe they both need
each other, but let's just say Fisher needs the Bills
more than the Bills need Fisher.

You look around this campus and you go back to

For students and Fisher athletes, that has to be a

It's helped all athletics here at St. John Fisher, and
they'll circle when the Bills. Maybe the football team should
even be better because of the bills and what they've
met and what they've done here. But it's certainly helped
all athletic programs.

Is great John Totully. Of course, not that we a
expect you to trapes all over town, knowing the social
agendas of every player. But year after year somebody takes
a picture of this player at this restaurant or out
at that bar or whatever. Did we have any spectacular
sightings like that this year? The year aware of Yeah,
the only thing I've seen Brandon Bean.

In the coaching staff or seeing at Joe Here in Pittsford,
you saw Dj Moore at the Pittsford Wegmans. Uh, and
there was a handful of players I think it was
Dion Dawkins.

They were at the Pittsford Derry.

It seems like we haven't seen maybe Bob. In the past,
we've seen more photos.

Of players out and about, not only in Pittsford but
in Rochester. It seems like this year there hasn't been
as many. There's been a few, but I think not
as many as we've seen in the past.

Yeah, Pittsford Farm Dairy and the Pittsford Wegmans. I bet
the team is signs people, Okay, this year you go there,
This year you were there, post pictures, everything will be great.

If you remember last year during Hard Knocks, Pittsford Dairy
I thought was the most popular spot. Trey White and
the players just fell in love with Pittsford Deiry, So
I thought they were the winter last year in terms
of getting national exposure.

Yeah, I don't want to offend my friends at Burn Dairy,
but exceptional chocolate milk at Pittsford Farm deary, no doubt.

Maybe the greatest chocolate milk the ball time Bobby of
all time.

That's an ongoing debate in our family, and often Pistorck
Farmberry comes out on top. Brady's first camp as coach
and the takeaway was.

You know, not as energy from him, absolutely, And I
think even talking to the players, that's the one thing.
You know, you can talk about efficiency what Sean McDermott had,
but each player we've talked to and media members we
talked to, they noticed the energy from Joe Brady as
opposed to Sean McDermott Dermott, you know a wrestler, he
had a different approach to things.

Bringing you know, we're all thirty six at one time,
and then Joe Brady is acting thirty six.

It was enjoyed by some, but not broadly across the society.
More to the news, you might have heard a couple
of days ago that there was a great upset among
you know, soccer of football people in Europe about a

plan which had been put forward to sell the World
Cup a twenty stake in the World Cup. FIFA, the
International Organization for Football, all of a sudden, out of nowhere,
they were going to sell twenty percent of the World
Cup to a group of private investors. The folks you know,
(27:02):
with the various you know, soccer or whatever you call them,
football leagues over there in Europe, the national teams and
all that, just crapped their pants and said, like, hell,
you're going to do that. Here's the thing. There's been
reporting on what transpired and what that purchase officer offer
was about. You know that the guy who's the head
of FIFA is very very close with President Trump. I mean,
(27:26):
the guy is fawning. You may recall that when President
Trump expressed upset that he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize,
FIFA created a Peace Prize and the president of FIFA
presented that to Donald Trump. So but they have been
very very close. Well, it turns out that the president
(27:51):
of FIFA had secretly negotiated this deal to l twenty
percent of the World Cup in the future, all World
Cup events, twenty percent of them, and the monies generated
would go to this group of private investors. It turns
(28:13):
out that the FIFA president created a a secret deal
and the night before the final game of the World Cup,
he called together the board of the World Cup, which
theoretically organizes it, literally the night before, and said, here
(28:37):
is this deal. You must approve it. And you know,
he controls these people's livelihood and such like that. And
they really weren't allowed to read the deal. They weren't
I know who it was. It was supposed to be
a whambam. Thank you, ma'am. Well, here's the deal. The
(28:57):
group purchasing twenty percent of the World Cup up is
led by Jared Kushner's brother, the father of these two.
Jared Kushner is the son in law of President Trump.
The father of the two Kushners is you know, a
rich man who President Trump pardoned for some crime or another.
(29:20):
But what you have is this circle of Trump family
people was involved in an effort to buy a part
of the World Cup. And you know, President Trump's very
good friend was the one who secretly negotiated it and
(29:41):
tried to push it through before there could be any
public scrutiny, which you know, is just an interesting kind
of deal. The folks in Europe found out about the
deal and found out about the connection, and their heads exploded.
So and this comes, you know, sort of in the
wake of yesterday. We talked a little bit about an
(30:05):
interesting dynamic that exists right now in our government. We
have President Trump, we have Steve Wykoff, We have Howard Lutnik,
the president Special Emissary and Commerce Secretary. Each of those
three men are involved in very important policy decisions infecting
(30:25):
affecting our government and portions of our economy. Well here's
the deal. All three of these men have sons who
are really big high roller businessmen, and every one of
their sons are engaged in businesses that are directly impacted by,
(30:47):
you know, the policies that their fathers are engaged in.
This isn't against the law, it's never happened before, and
it's just an interesting thing. And maybe after President Trump
has gone maybe there can you know, we should pass
some more regulations or something. But right now, an interesting
phenomenon is that the you know, Trump, Wyckoff and Lutnik
(31:13):
families are making extraordinary amounts of money in segments of
the economy where the fathers of those families are are
making policy. And again, not throwing any stones. I've voted
for Trump three times, but it does leave you scratch
in your head a little bit. And now we see
(31:33):
that the deal to buy uh, you know, twenty percent
of the World Cup kind of secretly pushed. That was
from the Trump family circle. So anyway, there's that we're
going to stop. We'll get news from Joe Laski now

place we go? Is there no respite? Is there no break?
And there are dispensaries and you've got all sorts of stuff.
Maybe they should have like bars where you're allowed to
smoke marijuana. But a farmer's market is where you take
your kids. Half the people at farmers markets or Grandma's.

You go there for the local honey. You go there
to buy some cinema rolls from the amish lady. You
go there to get some nice corn on the cob,
maybe some mazucchinis and tomatoes. Farmers' markets are wholesome and
comfortable and with respect for some people. Marijuana is not
wholesome and comfortable. And what you do is you end

up excluding people from farmers' markets. And the people you
exclude from farmers' markets are the people who would traditionally
be most typical to go there. Marijuana need not pervade
every You don't let micro breweries go to a farmer's markets.
You don't let people sell cans of beer there. You
don't let the little breweries and sideries and distilleries go there.

it's it's hard to put into words, but you know,
we we never imagined that at some point in my
career that I would have this opportunity to do something like,
you know, to be in a position to do something
like this. But it's uh, this event is bigger than
just having AP's name on it, you know. It's uh,

this is about families coming together, kids kids, seeing these
what our military is capable of and what it's all about,
and honoring the men and women of this country, you know,
creating a memory memory for people to talk about this
is the probably the every time responsor this as this
most meaningful times in my life. I also want to

let you know that I have on with us Ed Shram,
the promoter of the air show, as well. You know,
one of the things that always sit with me, Bob,
I like to share with everybody. And I literally brought
tears in my eyes as the first air show that
I have responsored as the jets went over and you
had a large you know, get a lump in your
in your chest and uh, the air boss said, and

We have a huge selection of military planes this year.
And part of that reason is because, as you know,
the troops have been moving around in a mutual aid
fashion across the US because of the Middle East, and

the plane and its pilot have to fly so many hours,
and many of them have asked if we would host
them for the weekend, and we of course said yes,
so they come to our Rochester Air Show. We will
have more planes on the ground and in the air
than we have ever experienced here in Rochester, New York.
And we're very proud of that. And I also want

to mention that a lot of the Thunderbirds went to
Ontario Country Club and Pub on the Green and as
Sean hosted them for one whole day to play golf
and just relax.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
They by the way, tonight from seven to nine, well,
the Thunderbirds will be at the Public Market. They got
some music out there as well. Great opportunity to I
don't know, get autographs, posts for pictures, take your kids
and introduce them to American heroes. That'll be by Rock
Lobster at the Public Market. So among the there are
a lot of static displays and there are aerial presentations.

What are some of the static displays that might be there.

Well, We're going to have the C one thirty there.
We've got the F thirty five B jump jet, which
is the if you will, the new version of the
Harrier jet. We've got. We've also got history here, Bob.
We've got the Tuskegee Museum here, which the whole story
of those pilots is incredible, and they will be bringing

their P fifty one a plane will actually be there.
There will be about about twenty eight planes on the
runway for people to actually look at. We also have
a Chinook helicopter. We have a Blackhawk out here. We
just have planes everywhere.

When does it run? Please? Where is it? What's it cost?
Speaker 4 (06:57):
The time? We open the gates here to the air
show at ninth thirty both Saturday and Sunday the ninth,
and it closes at six o'clock at night. The planes
will start flying at ten o'clock in the morning. We
have the Golden Jets here. They will be doing their demonstration.

They'll be doing a Tanem jump. We will also be
using the Golden Knights, because what's special about this? Most
Saturday and Sunday at eleven o'clock. We're going to be
kicking off what is the Honor Parade. And we put
this together because we need to honor those people who
have helped build this country and give us the freedom

we have today. And this honor parade, kicking off at
eleven inside the airport, will first of all feature the
Keystone pipe of drum, but then it will have I
have thirty two World War two veterans, Korean War veterans,
the Riveters, the gold Star Mothers, and the Vietnam veterans.

And that parade is going to be going to the
air Boss tower and the Golden Knights will be jumping
out with the American flag. And as that flag unfurls
and comes to the ground, it will be caught by
the Civil Air Patrol. And while that just hits that
Civil Air Patrol and they start flying it, we're going
to have a three plane flyover. The first plane will

be decorated in the colors of the camouflage, if you will,
for World War Two and the Korean War. The second
plane is going to represent the Vietnam veterans, and they
have underneath the wings and very large letters pow M
I A to honor those who didn't come home. The
third plane will be in the colors of the American flag.

Future, Yeah, we are extremely blessed. I mean, they have
an extraordinary practice facility of their own. This is slightly disruptive.
Every day they come here is doing us a favor.

It's incredible and I think Saint John Fisher provides the

And again, only seven teams go away in the NFL,
and we're fortunate that Buffalo still Leaves Orchard Park. They've
been doing it for many, many years, and they're going

He is the He is the placekicker. Did not kick
at all. He was injured last year. But right now
he is the only place kicker in camp for Buffalo.

And yesterday he rolled out and a lot of folks looking,
thinking and talking.

How does he look? That's a great question.

He looks fine, but listen, he's got to perform his numbers.
When you look at his statistics, he's not the best kicker.
He ranks near the bottom. So I think there's a
lot of stress, a lot of pressure. I think he'll
come out of camp as the kicker, but I think Bobby,
he'll be on a short lease as this season unfold.

the brand, but the years of needing to do that
have long since passed. The Buffalo Bills are gigantic Bill's mafia,
if that's what you call it, Folks who have got

the red, white and Blue in their heart. It's a
massive fan base. They don't have to worry about selling tickets,
and so you know, coming out here a fair distance
from where you know the players lived during the season,
where the coaches lived during the season, it's an interesting,
almost a relic from another day, but it is a

tremendous blessing to as you know better than I, Buffalo
Bills fans who want to go out there and see
a channel WKBW whatever that is in Buffalo. Did a
little story the other day, just an illustration one of
the blessings. There's a gentleman and I can't remember his name.
I apologize. He's about forty or so, not that it's relevant,

but he has down syndrome and for nineteen years he
has volunteered at the mini camp here and is just
a positive person feels close to the players, and the
players feel close to him. The whole story kind of

broke for Buffalo TV because anytime poor oh Josh Allen
walks anywhere with any kind of camera is got it
on him, because you never know something viral could happen.
I guess they're thinking. And in this situation, mister Allen
is just walking. He's got his uniform like he's doing.

He's going to the workout, and there's a gentleman walk
in the opposite direction, and the gentleman just sort of,
you know, taps a little bit on the arm and
a greeting and passing. No stop, look, just they're walking
opposite ways. And then you see that Josh Allen as
they pass. He's got recognition and he oh, and he

turns around, stops and hails the man and goes over
and gives him a hug. And it is that gentleman
who lives here in the Rochester area and who again
for nineteen years, has been a volunteer at Mini Camp.
There are thousands and tens of thousands of experiences like that,
happy moments, happy people like that. And that's just one

small bit of what that train camp here in our
neck of the woods does. And we have extraordinary gratitude

who pays who to make this happen. Do the bills
pay the university for the space, or does the university

That's a great question. I was always under the impression
I was told in the past it was the bills
get paid, say John Fisher, is that the same deal?
Because a lot of the upgrades that happened here the
Bills did pay for. There's no question they paid for

for Fisher, it's great for branding. I think it helps

in their overall image. But the Bills are the ones
that are writing the checks, at least from what I
was told in the past.

For students and Fisher athletes, that has to be a
big draw and has to help them recruit a little bit.

There's no question it has helped not only the football team,
It's helped all athletics here at St. John Fisher, and
they'll circle when the Bills. Maybe the football team should
even be better because of the bills and what they've
met and what they've done here. But it's certainly helped
all athletic programs.

Is great John Totully. Of course, not that we a
expect you to trapes all over town, knowing the social
agendas of every player. But year after year somebody takes
a picture of this player at this restaurant or out
at that bar or whatever. Did we have any spectacular
sightings like that this year? The year aware of Yeah,
the only thing I've seen Brandon Bean.

In the coaching staff or seeing at Joe Here in Pittsford,
you saw Dj Moore at the Pittsford Wegmans. Uh, and
there was a handful of players I think it was
Dion Dawkins.

They were at the Pittsford Derry.

It seems like we haven't seen maybe Bob. In the past,
we've seen more photos.

Of players out and about, not only in Pittsford but
in Rochester. It seems like this year there hasn't been
as many. There's been a few, but I think not
as many as we've seen in the past.

Yeah, Pittsford Farm Dairy and the Pittsford Wegmans. I bet
the team is signs people, Okay, this year you go there,
This year you were there, post pictures, everything will be great.

If you remember last year during Hard Knocks, Pittsford Dairy
I thought was the most popular spot. Trey White and
the players just fell in love with Pittsford Deiry, So
I thought they were the winter last year in terms
of getting national exposure.

Yeah, I don't want to offend my friends at Burn Dairy,
but exceptional chocolate milk at Pittsford Farm deary, no doubt.

Maybe the greatest chocolate milk the ball time Bobby of

That's an ongoing debate in our family, and often Pistorck
Farmberry comes out on top. Brady's first camp as coach
and the takeaway was.

You know, not as energy from him, absolutely, And I
think even talking to the players, that's the one thing.
You know, you can talk about efficiency what Sean McDermott had,
but each player we've talked to and media members we
talked to, they noticed the energy from Joe Brady as
opposed to Sean McDermott Dermott, you know a wrestler, he
had a different approach to things.

Bringing you know, we're all thirty six at one time,

World Cup You know that came and went. Interestingly, McDonald's
did a big promotion with the World Cup. It absolutely
flopped Last year, same quarter McDonald's did a big promotion
with minecraft massive hit, so again, World Cup didn't pay off.
(26:19):
It was enjoyed by some, but not broadly across the society.
More to the news, you might have heard a couple
of days ago that there was a great upset among
you know, soccer of football people in Europe about a
(26:39):
plan which had been put forward to sell the World
Cup a twenty stake in the World Cup. FIFA, the
International Organization for Football, all of a sudden, out of nowhere,
they were going to sell twenty percent of the World
Cup to a group of private investors. The folks you know,
(27:02):
with the various you know, soccer or whatever you call them,
football leagues over there in Europe, the national teams and
all that, just crapped their pants and said, like, hell,
you're going to do that. Here's the thing. There's been
reporting on what transpired and what that purchase officer offer
was about. You know that the guy who's the head
of FIFA is very very close with President Trump. I mean,
(27:26):
the guy is fawning. You may recall that when President
Trump expressed upset that he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize,
FIFA created a Peace Prize and the president of FIFA
presented that to Donald Trump. So but they have been
very very close. Well, it turns out that the president
(27:51):
of FIFA had secretly negotiated this deal to l twenty
percent of the World Cup in the future, all World
Cup events, twenty percent of them, and the monies generated
would go to this group of private investors. It turns
(28:13):
out that the FIFA president created a a secret deal
and the night before the final game of the World Cup,
he called together the board of the World Cup, which
theoretically organizes it, literally the night before, and said, here
(28:37):
is this deal. You must approve it. And you know,
he controls these people's livelihood and such like that. And
they really weren't allowed to read the deal. They weren't
I know who it was. It was supposed to be
a whambam. Thank you, ma'am. Well, here's the deal. The
(28:57):
group purchasing twenty percent of the World Cup up is
led by Jared Kushner's brother, the father of these two.
Jared Kushner is the son in law of President Trump.
The father of the two Kushners is you know, a
rich man who President Trump pardoned for some crime or another.
(29:20):
But what you have is this circle of Trump family
people was involved in an effort to buy a part
of the World Cup. And you know, President Trump's very
good friend was the one who secretly negotiated it and
(29:41):
tried to push it through before there could be any
public scrutiny, which you know, is just an interesting kind
of deal. The folks in Europe found out about the
deal and found out about the connection, and their heads exploded.
So and this comes, you know, sort of in the
wake of yesterday. We talked a little bit about an
(30:05):
interesting dynamic that exists right now in our government. We
have President Trump, we have Steve Wykoff, We have Howard Lutnik,
the president Special Emissary and Commerce Secretary. Each of those
three men are involved in very important policy decisions infecting
(30:25):
affecting our government and portions of our economy. Well here's
the deal. All three of these men have sons who
are really big high roller businessmen, and every one of
their sons are engaged in businesses that are directly impacted by,
(30:47):
you know, the policies that their fathers are engaged in.
This isn't against the law, it's never happened before, and
it's just an interesting thing. And maybe after President Trump
has gone maybe there can you know, we should pass
some more regulations or something. But right now, an interesting
phenomenon is that the you know, Trump, Wyckoff and Lutnik
(31:13):
families are making extraordinary amounts of money in segments of
the economy where the fathers of those families are are
making policy. And again, not throwing any stones. I've voted
for Trump three times, but it does leave you scratch
in your head a little bit. And now we see
(31:33):
that the deal to buy uh, you know, twenty percent
of the World Cup kind of secretly pushed. That was
from the Trump family circle. So anyway, there's that we're
going to stop. We'll get news from Joe Laski now
we'll be back when he's done on news radio. But
I'm eleven eighty so here we are.
