Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now mist and rain, 72 degrees. I'm Dave Deboe, NewsRadio
WHAM 1180. Next news coming up at 1130, breaking news
when it happens, anytime. But first, another hour with Bob
Lonsbury starts now on NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Thank you, sir. I appreciate that. Good morning, my friend.
Thank you so much for tuning in. A flat-out beautiful
day for a radio program. However, from a weather standpoint,
at least downtown, it's a good day for growing grass.
Rain is coming down pretty good. Going to get pretty moist.
Pretty moist, no doubt about that. We may have Sarah

(00:38):
Van Strydonk from the Ontario County District Attorney's Office calling
up here in a moment. So I don't want to
get too far down the road on another topic. But
we talked about this yesterday a little bit. I keenly
admire the Amish people. They're wonderful neighbors. They make such

(00:58):
good and wholesome use of the land. They're productive, they're hardworking,
and they're people whose entire lifestyle is built around their faith.
I admire people with that kind of faith, and I
hope and pray that mine somehow gets closer to that
one day. Amish people got their own way of living.

(01:21):
In America, you're allowed to do that. Unfortunately, the state
of New York is... kind of at war right now
with the Amish people. Governor Hochul would not acknowledge that,
but it's true. Amish people, and when you and I
see somebody in a horse and buggy, those may well

(01:43):
be Amish. They may be people of a similar religious faith,
Old Order Mennonite. How to tell them apart, I'm not
exactly sure half the time. I don't want my ignorance
to get in the way of this, but when I
say Amish... I mean the horse and buggy people of
whatever their particular denomination, you know what I mean? And
at any rate, many of those people, most of those people,

(02:04):
they don't believe in vaccinating their children. They are living
in a simpler technological era. They see that as part
of their faith and that's how they are. And that's
how they've always been. And, And it is a sincere
religious faith. You know, some people will come up with, Oh,

(02:25):
it's my religion. Uh, when they're looking for an excuse
for something, well, I look at these Amish people and
they say it's because of our religion. I take them seriously.
I think there's, I think the proof is in the pudding, right?
They're not making that up. That's for genuine, right? Well, they, uh, uh, don't, uh,
vaccinate their children and they have a little Amish schools. They, uh,

(02:49):
If you are driving out through the country, if you
know what you're looking for, you can sometimes recognize them.
We have, you know, there's one not so far from
where I live, as a matter of fact. But their
children go to those schools. And there they receive their education.
And that's all good. Well, the state of New York says,

(03:10):
if you're going to have a school, you have to
have vaccinated students there. And if you don't, we're going
to fine you. And so the state of New York,
under Kathy Hochul... By the way, you know, in New York,
there's no religious exemption for vaccines. Unlike almost every other
state in the country, there's no religious exemption. God, the Constitution,

(03:35):
the Supreme Court, those things don't apply here. This is
a Democrat state, right? Know your place, do what you're told.
So the state of New York has sought to fine.
Amish schools for allowing unvaccinated youngsters to attend. Now, these
are Amish schools taught by an Amish lady, and they

(03:55):
come over here and they're all Amish, and they're doing
their thing their way, pursuing their happiness, exercising their freedom
of religion. But Kathy Hochul, she's above all that. And so, well,
folks on behalf of the Amish went to court and said,
Your Honor, this is their religion, right? They're not trying

(04:16):
to dodge the vaccines. They believe this, right? Look at
the freaking clothes. These people believe their own thing. Well,
federal judge says, screw that. You live in New York.
You got to do what the New York governor says.
And so it goes to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Second Circuit Court of Appeals says, screw your religion. You

(04:36):
live in New York. You got to do what the
New York governor says. It goes to the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court says, you know, Second Circuit, why don't you
look at this again? So it goes back to Second Circuit.
This summer, Second Circuit says at Second Look, screw you
and your religion. You've got to do what the New
York governor says. And that's where things stand now.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
That's where things stand now. And the deal is that
this has created significant upset and uncertainty in in the
Amish community, which is a very significant part of our region, right?
If you get outside Monroe County, you have, in almost
every county I can think of, significant Mennonite or Old Order,

(05:27):
I mean Old Order Mennonite or Amish populations. These are
just Americans living their lives, not bothering anybody, engaged, they're
doing positive things, and here they are. Well, the deal
is that there are other states with significant Amish populations.

(05:48):
And these are largely states where historically there's been a
lot of agriculture, but a lot of people are getting
out of agriculture. So there are some of these small
to medium-sized farms which will come on the market. And
the Amish people, as their population grows, they will buy
these farms and kind of magically put them in operating order. Anyway,

(06:12):
the point being, two other, three other states with significant
Amish populations are Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. And in all
three of those states, they allow a religious exemption for
children being vaccinated.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Right?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
So in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana... And you can add
Iowa to that as well. But in those three that
are relatively close to our part of the country, you
can be Amish and send your kids to school. But
in New York, I guess we're smarter than the people

(06:57):
who run Pennsylvania, smarter than the people who run Ohio,
smarter than the people who run Indiana. We're going to
keep our Amish in their place under our thumb, right?
And maybe Kathy Hochul thinks that these people will subordinate
their religion to her dictate. Or maybe, like the religious

(07:23):
people they are, they just might pack up their stuff
and go where they can be free. Right? I mean,
if you're an Amish person and you are in New York,
And you look south of that little line through the
woods that crosses into Pennsylvania. And down there, the people

(07:44):
can practice their religion unmolested. But up here in New York,
you may be bankrupted by the state. You may have
your schools shut down by the state because everyone must
obey the collective. Your freedom of religion is not more
important than the power of the state. That's the Democrat worldview.

(08:06):
And it's just interesting because I hear Kathy Ockel speak
a lot about religious accommodations in regard to Muslim people.
But here she is drawing the line, a line that
literally may chase the Amish from New York State because
she's not willing to make an accommodation for the Amish people,

(08:26):
an accommodation that almost every other state in the Union makes.
This used to be the land of the free. Now
it's the land of Hochul and the Democrats. And if
you think you're free, you better hold on to that
delusion because that's all it is, delusion. Take a break.
Back with you in a moment on NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Following the events of the day.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
We are following.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Following the story.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Wherever they take us.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
We have total control.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
We own it.

Speaker 5 (08:53):

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Check in. Our movement. They're communists.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Anytime.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
What are we talking about?

Speaker 6 (08:59):
NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
You know, I, Clark Pashkin... which is, as you know,
an Eastside law firm. At Clark Peshkin, you sit down
today and you do good things that will pay off
for your family tomorrow. And what am I talking about?
Making the arrangements that will handle your affairs in the
last portion of your life and when you pass away

(09:26):
with a will and such like that, and that's all
you got. Well, when you die, All of a sudden,
that money in your bank account, if your name's on
the bank account alone, that money's locked up. Your assets
are locked up. Could be in a few months or
a couple years, some judge and some executor and pay
some lawyer fee. Maybe you can get back that money,
but no. If you've got a trust that's been put

(09:46):
together for you by the good people at Clark Peshkin,
when you pass away instantly in that moment, control of
all those assets goes directly to who you've chosen and
established through your living trust. Affordability? Absolutely. Absolutely.

they will fix it for you. 546-1734. ClarkPeshkin.com. The free
iHeartRadio app has the NFL.

Speaker 7 (10:23):
The official NFL podcast network.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Fox Sports Radio and live games in your city. Super
Bowl 60. You had a situation where the Seahawks were there.
Sam Darnold, their quarterback. Just use him as an example.
There's a suggestion that the NFL Players Association should insist
that that the league sponsor no more Super Bowls in California.

(10:50):
And this gentleman, Mr. Darnold, is an illustration of that.
So the Seahawks are in the Super Bowl, and you
know how it is, the teams go to the Super
Bowl city, and you've got the media, you've got to
shake hands, you've got to work out a little bit,
and there's all the hoopla in the week leading up

(11:10):
to the Super Bowl. So that was the situation. The
Seahawks won, and quarterback Sam Darnold, as a consequence, was
given $ 178, 000. That was the winner's bonus at the Super Bowl.
Here's the deal, though. California's income tax laws are such

(11:36):
that because the players were in California for a week,
California claimed that they owed income tax for that week. Now,
football players make more than you and I do, and

(11:57):
in California, people who make more than you and I
do are taxed at an extraordinarily high rate. You and
I are taxed at just a very high rate. They're
taxed at an extraordinarily high rate, right? Now, you'd say, okay,
So he's got to pay tax on the $ 178, 000 that
he made there in California, the bonus? No, no. The

(12:21):
way California figures it, you are an NFL player and
there are this many weeks in your season. That season,
to include training camp, is your work year. And so
your entire pay would be divided into however many weeks
there are in the work year. And then you would

(12:42):
be taxed on what one week's pay would be for you.
And that's at that very high rate. Anyway, for this
Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Sam Darnold, he won $ 178, 000. However, he
was taxed $ 249, 000. So for going to the Super Bowl,

(13:10):
being in California for a week and winning the Super Bowl,
he lost $ 71, 000, which is a lot of money. And
the observation is, if California is just going to use
this as an excuse to screw us over, then we

(13:34):
don't want to go. And the deal is that California
is not the lone one like this. In New York
and Illinois, Democrat states out there picking the pocket. We
mentioned earlier the Lindsay Clancy jury. Various members of it
have spoken. And it was astounding. These ladies... I cannot

(14:03):
imagine what it was like to be the holdout juror
in there. We thought that maybe the one holdout had
been the juror who engaged in jury nullification, i.e., following
his own whim instead of the law. Listening to these
jurors speak, I wonder if maybe it was 11 nullifiers

(14:24):
and one person following the law. I have confidence in juries.
I was on one once. It doesn't make me an expert.
I can only tell you about those few days with
those few people. They were all wonderful, the sort of
people you'd respect and trust. What came out of that
Lindsey Clancy thing, I can't imagine. I was surprised to

(14:45):
see that the jurors, when interviewed, weren't wearing their pink sweatshirts, though,
honest with you. Another thing that has come up of
late is that there's sort of been an assertion among
kind of the socialist part of our political spectrum, that
being physically fit, that being trim, that exercising, that that's

(15:08):
somehow fascist, that the commitment to being physically fit or
exercising or trying to take care of yourself, that that is, again,
associated with whatever culture they don't like, right? That people
who work out and exercise and such like that are fascists.

(15:30):
And that, you know, let me just politely say that
that's ridiculous. And whoever you are, whatever your politics, taking
care of your body actually makes sense. That's not fascism.
That's a personal choice. And you do or don't have
to do anything with your body you do or don't

(15:50):
want to. But you ought not to allow politics and
somebody ranting and raving to push you one way or
the other. I've known a lot of folks in a
lot of gyms. I've known a lot of folks at
a lot of foot races. And they've been all over
the political spectrum. And what they've had in common is
they just like to stay in shape. That's not about politics.

(16:12):
It's about how you run your body. And don't let
anybody tell you different. We've got news now with Dave
Debo on NewsRadio WHAM 1180. NewsRadio WHAM 1180, an iHeartRadio station.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Guaranteed human.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Hey, Franz Lonsbury here talking with Jason, the general manager
of Jamestown Mattress. Jason, tell us about the different styles
that shoppers can find at Jamestown Mattress.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
So our double-sided mattresses are very durable, comfortable. The other
type of mattresses that we have are hybrids pocket coil
system with a specialty foam on top, either latex or
memory foam. And then our all-foam mattresses are completely all latex.
So the double-sided mattresses, they're very popular here. They come

(16:59):
in firm, medium, or soft. You flip and you rotate those.
The benefit really is the durability of them. Then when
you get into a hybrid system, the nice thing about
those is they have pocket coils. Confirms really nice to
your body. Isolates motion from side to side better. And
you can change out the foam layers in it, whether
it's the latex or the memory foam. You can zipper

(17:21):
it off, change out those layers so you can change
your firmness.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Visit Jason at Jamestown Mattress on the corner of Jefferson
and West Henrietta Roads. Open Monday through Saturday. Experience matters.
Hurt in a car? Call William Attar. Fighting for big money,
big results. We've helped thousands. Countryland over the weekend, do
some mowing. I was looking around exactly for where we're
going to build this little deer tower. And I noticed

(17:47):
that in this recent storm, The neighbor had had a
tree blow over. It snapped off, maybe head high, and
then the tree fell in. Well, the tree was on
the property line, his postage sign nailed to it. But

(18:08):
the top fell off over onto my land. I'm not
knowledgeable about fallen tree law. But my thought was, offer
him the wood and say, if you'd like, this is
your tree. It fell down. If you want it, it'll
be here. You can come over and cut it up,
do whatever you want with it. But if you don't

(18:30):
want it, would you mind if I cut it up
and used it? That would be the appropriate approach, do
you think?

Speaker 9 (18:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
So anyway, not asking for any forest lawyers to weigh
in necessarily, but that seemed to be about the right
thing to do. There's going to be in Dallas a
midterm convention of the Republican Party tonight and tomorrow night.
And our number is 222-1180-1900, 295-1180. I, with respect, am

(19:01):
probably not going to pay too much attention to this convention.
I know who I'm voting for. It's not going to
be selecting any candidates. It really is kind of a
star turn for President Trump. And, you know, sometimes I
do better if I don't listen to president Trump speak. Um,

(19:21):
and you know, it's, I suspect really, uh, an opportunity for,
you know, Republicans to get free ads. I, you know,
it'll be, if you are someone who follows these things
closely and you really, really like president Trump, um, it'll
be some, you know, entertaining TV for you for a

(19:43):
couple of nights. But, I'm going to take a pass
if that's all right. There is, we talked about it
at the very beginning of the program, a quote out
of Zoran Mamdani, the mayor down in New York City.
And he's talking about yesterday, he did this big release

(20:07):
of 170,000 pages of of city documents, and they claim
that the city government knew that the air was bad
around Ground Zero and didn't give people adequate warnings. Well,
just a couple things I would point out here. You

(20:28):
have this lingering cloud. Of course it's not good to
breathe it. People who were there took every reasonable precaution
understood at the time. One can never be protected from
all the hazards that life offers. And in that situation,

(20:51):
there was hazard in the air. And you didn't have
to be a politician or a scientist to know that.
There was not some sinister plot in the immediate aftermath
of September 11th for evil politicians to poison firefighters and
kill business workers some 20 years down the road. People

(21:13):
did the best they could in the face of a
horrible situation. Further, I'd like to point out that for
Zoran Mamdani to release this information, how long has he
been mayor down there? Since January 1st, right?

Speaker 9 (21:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
To release this information on September 8th, on the Tuesday
of the week of which Friday will be the 25th
anniversary of the Muslim terrorist attacks of September 11th, it
is not coincidental timing. And my suggestion would be that

(21:51):
Zoran Mamdani released this with this spin at this time
to deflect anger, to distort peace, Here's an example. Yesterday,
he said, Mayor Mamdani, quote, people got sick because the

(22:12):
leaders they trusted lied and told them it was safe
to breathe toxic air. He said it with a lot
more feigned indignation and anger than did I, right? People
got sick because the leaders they trusted lied and told
them it was safe to breathe toxic air. that's horse crap.

Speaker 9 (22:37):
Right?

Speaker 2 (22:41):
It's horse crap. People got sick because Muslim terrorists attacked America. Right?
People got sick because people who hated us because we
were of a different religion decided to come over here
and kill as many of us as they could. People

(23:02):
got sick because goat-screwing bastards from the third world decided
that they were going to kill innocent, unarmed Americans as
they flew on planes, as they worked their jobs, as
they served their country. That's why people got sick. Let
us not be confused. God bless Zoran Mamdani, but this

(23:26):
effort to make September 11th a situation wherein we were
wronged by the government. Specifically, we were wronged by the
Republican government, that damn Giuliani, that damn Pataki, that damn Bush.
They lied to us. That's why we got sick. No,
you got sick because goat-screwing Muslim bastards from the third

(23:50):
world came over here to kill people who were different
from them. Right? Let's not be confused about this. I
wouldn't care to waste the time to speculate on what
his agenda would be, why he would want to change
the subject, why he would want to misrepresent what truly
took place, right? But I'm not sure that playing the

(24:13):
25th anniversary of this terrorist attack, I'm sorry, this Muslim
terrorist attack for political advantage, I don't think that's good
for anybody, including him. And so... You can be ticked
off at whoever you want. You can, you know, hate
the government and all this other stuff if that's what

(24:34):
you want. But Giuliani didn't slit any pilots' throats. Giuliani
did not attack any flight attendants, right? George W. Bush
did not fly any planes into any buildings. And we
all know who did. And we all know why they

(24:55):
did it, no matter what. Zoram the Magnificent has to say.
Listeners on the loose is next. 222-1180 the number. This
is NewsRadio WHAM 1180. Turns out, gentlemen, you get a

(25:22):
few years on you, things ain't quite like they used
to be, right? Nature doesn't function quite like nature used
to do, and that can be disconcerting. At Game Day
Men's Health, they offer an option for folks who are
trying to find a workaround. Many people believe that some
of these therapies, for example, testosterone therapy, can be useful

(25:43):
to regaining some of your vigor, putting a little bit
of lead in your pencil, you know what I mean? And, well,
that's what Game Day Men's Health offers people. Their website, gamedaymenshealth.com,
talks about the various services and therapies. It's a medical clinic,
a chain of medical clinics, the one locally run by
a physician assistant, a gentleman who's a veteran of the

(26:04):
United States military. And it begins not with a sales
pitch or a frigging pamphlet or a flim flam, but
with a blood test. Let's check your testosterone levels and
see what they are. Okay? Now let's look at the
results and see what that means or not means. And
here are some options. some things to think about and explore.
And if you'd like to engage in these, we're here

(26:25):
to help you in this medical setting. 585-649-1901, 649-1901, website gamedaymenshealth.com.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
Here are three questions most people can't answer. Who controls
your finances if you become incapacitated? Who makes your medical decisions?
And when you're gone, does your family go to court
or do they go home? If you're not sure, you're
not alone. A will is not enough. I'm Kevin Clark,
partner at Clark Peshkin. And in my years of practice,

(27:12):
that gap between what people intend and what's actually on
paper is exactly where families fall apart. Through my estate
planning workshops, I've educated thousands of families on the importance
of protecting their assets, avoiding probate, and creating a clear
plan for the future. That's why Clark Peshkin is hosting
free educational estate planning workshops on Wednesday, October 14th at

(27:34):
noon and 4 p.m. No pressure, just practical, clear guidance
to help you protect what you've spent a lifetime building.
Reserve your seat at clarkpeshkin.com or call 585-546-1734. Your family
deserves a real estate plan. Let's build one.

When emergencies or disasters happen, stress can take over fast.
Fifteen seconds. Say whatever you want. Try not to suck, okay?
That's my job.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Hello? You're on NewsRadio WHAM 1180. Yeah, hi, Bob.

Speaker 6 (28:07):
It's Bart Simpson.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Yes, yes, Bart.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
I want to congratulate you on making history for defying.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
The laws of physics.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
Your show blows and sucks at the same time.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Thank you very much, sir. Thank you. That doesn't happen accidentally,
my man. It takes an awful lot of effort.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
Hello? You're on NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Right on, buddy. And on Friday, I'd like to see
President Trump, Rudolph Giuliani, President Bush, and Governor George Pataki
escorted by a platoon of the NYPD in New York City.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
So because you hate Jews, are you like then an
honorary terrorist? Or how do you How does it work
for you anti-Semites exactly?

Speaker 4 (28:51):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
I know who you hate. I'm just curious how you
figure out who you stand beside. Hello?

Speaker 4 (28:57):
You're on NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah, Bob.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:02):
I've been losing sleep because I did some checking and
I found out Canada's got 42 trained combat pilots and
about 70, 75 old 1980s F-18s that are ready for
the scrap heap. And I hope President Trump cuts back
on the rhetoric. I mean, I'm worried.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
Here's the deal. I'd like to go easy on Canada
for a week or so. 165 Canadians died in the
global war on terror. In the response to September 11th,
as we went to war against Muslim terrorism, Canada stood
by our side and bled into the same soil we

(29:41):
bled into. And so I kind of hope for this
anniversary we could be pals. It's too late. The horse
is out of the barn on that. But I wish
it could have been that way. Hello.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
You're on NewsRadio WHAM 1180.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Hello.

Speaker 9 (29:56):
Bob, I'm your age, and I'm disappointed in some of
my Marines claiming 100%. One guy is bragging about walking
five miles a day. We meet for lunch. He parks
in a handicapped spot. One gal whose career was a
dollar store manager bought $ 30, 000 worth of artisan investment at
our military reunion cruise. She claimed 100% because someone she
didn't like asked her out, and that was sexual harassment.

(30:18):
Neither saw combat.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah. I respect everybody. But I know some folks who
are on 100% who sure look fine to me. And
just like me, they never left the U.S. of A.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Hello? You're on NewsRadio WHAM 1180. It's sheep, buddy, not goats, okay?

Speaker 2 (30:43):
We got our standards down there.

Speaker 6 (30:45):
Plus a sheep, I tell you what.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
That soft, woolly hair they have. The lanolin on your
hands afterwards.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Oh, my gosh. How could a guy say no?

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Ground News Radio. Wham!

Speaker 1 (31:06):
1180.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
Hey, Bob. It's Mike.

Speaker 9 (31:09):
Just checking to see if your daughter and my son
in the swamps for the 82nd Airborne, if you heard
from any of them at all.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
I haven't heard from my son in a while.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Just getting.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
A little nervous, hoping everything's okay, just wondering if you're
helping your daughter. God bless all of our men and women.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
100% fine.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
They're just camping in the Louisiana woods, making lots of
noise and a little bit of rubble bounce. In fact,
Aubrey and her folks came out yesterday, got a nice picture,
lots of thumbs up, a lot of hoo-ahs, a lot
of ascot kick, a lot of names got taken. Need
to run. God bless you. Keep your chin up, and
God bless the United States of America. News is next. Then,

(31:45):
you know, I'll be back here tomorrow morning, 6 to 8,
on NewsRadio. Wham! 1180. Back to school is for beginners.

Speaker 8 (31:55):
What you want is a master class for news that
shapes your world.

Speaker 7 (31:59):
We need to do it now.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
NewsRadio.

Speaker 7 (32:04):
Wham!

Speaker 3 (32:04):
1180.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
