Host: Joni Aldrich Guest: Susan Dineen (Author) Topic: Finding a Way Out: Guide for Parents of Children with Cancer. Aren't the teenage years hard enough for parents and their teenager, even without the complication of a cancer diagnosis? In her book, Susan speaks from the point of view of a parent facing the harrowing task of assisting a teenager through cancer treatment. “After the cancer diagnosis, I found myself with a 17-year-old son who wanted to be like his friends,” she says. “He wanted nothing to do with any changes in his life, and was eager to move away to college and a life of independence. I tried everything in my power to help him through the ordeal, but felt like a failure so many times.” (For a copy of this interview go to www.w4tsr.com, click on Joni Aldrich, episode 2/27/12) Listen to Joni live M-F at 2:00 p.m. ET on www.W4CS.com.
