RadioMD News... I'm John Byrd.The ongoing General Mills flour recalls has prompted a new warning from the FDA: don't eat raw cookie dough or cake batter. The E. coli-tainted flour has sickened 46 people in 21 states and prompted 45 million pounds of it to be recalled. Experts are now recommending babies be fed exclusively breast milk for the first 6 months of their lives, and warn that delaying breastfeeding by 24 hours or more after birth increases the risk of death by 80%. Newborns should be breastfed within the first hour of life to provide essential nutrients and antibodies to protect them.And... implementing further driving restrictions could save many teen lives, report health officials. Getting teens out of the driver's seat well before midnight could significantly reduce their risk of fatal car crashes. Some 1/3 of fatal teen crashes occur at night, with 57% taking place before midnight. They advise restrictions beginning much earlier, as in sundown, well in advance of current limits.For RadioMD News,
