Arlene found her voice at the age of five when she received her first guitar. Music has been her passion ever since. Growing up in a little farmhouse in rural Lanark, Ontario, she spent all her free time singing, playing guitar and writing songs. The middle of three girls, Arlene would often lead family jam sessions with songs rooted in traditional country and Christian music. By the age of 18, Arlene was touring with her band throughout Ontario and Quebec, and was one of the Ottawa Valley’s most loved female vocalists. She had the honour of opening shows for many Grand Ole Opry stars, including Johnny Duncan, Stonewall Jackson, Charlie Walker, Tommy Cash and whispering Bill Anderson. The support and advice from these country music legends influenced Arlene to pursue a full-time career as a recording and performing artist. After opening a show for Rockabilly Hall of Fame inductee, Bobby Helms, Arlene captured the attention of a management team that helped take her artistry to another
